Best of Hannity - Vivek Ramaswamy - May 27th, Hour 1
Vivek Ramaswamy, former candidate for President and host of his own podcast, The Vivek Show, joins to discuss the rampant anti-semitism happening all over the globe. And why is it happening because we are doing nothing to stop it - absolutely nothing. We talk about, we put deadlines in place that pass and police are told to stand down by liberal state governments. This is the end. If you ever wonder how the Holocaust happened, now you know. Some of his recent comments on how we can America back on track.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Here for our final news roundup and information overload.
All right, news roundup and information overload hour.
Toll-free, our number is 800-941-Sean.
If you want to join us, we'll get to more of your calls coming up.
We're still watching the insanity and the madness unfold at college campuses all around the country.
Didn't think I'd ever hear or see a lot of what we're hearing and seeing in our lifetime.
I never thought, you know, the issue of, you know, have you ever wondered how the Holocaust could have happened?
How is something like that even possible?
Well, maybe listening to some of these people might give you some insight into how this, you know, pernicious evil, you know, begins to grow like a cancer.
You know, you have a college student at Columbia named Messica Schwab actually describing the building being occupied by protesters.
It was like a scene from the shining.
At least some kids get it.
Listen.
Well, the most remarkable scene that I saw was someone smashing the windows of the doorway of Hamilton Hall in with a hammer, almost like a scene from the shining.
And I also saw a student who was trying to prevent them from barricading, continuing to barricade the doors.
And then he was essentially corralled by another human chain of pro-Palestinian protesters and basically lifted up and shoved out and called a Zionist.
And he was physically assaulted.
And again, there's utter silence from public safety, from NYPD.
So we feel alone on this campus.
And you have a low-income student identified as Jeremy, and this was on Fox News, talking about not being able to get food because of all the chaos from all the protesters.
He also doesn't want the NYPD to come in.
Well, how do you, they're not going to leave on their own.
I mean, the deadline has come and gone.
The administration was literally negotiating with the most radical students that we went through yesterday.
That was in the New York Post yesterday.
Anyway, here's the situation from his point of view.
Jeremy, he is an undergraduate senior.
Jeremy, you were trying to get into the university here.
Tell me, they denied you.
Yeah, well, we had originally called public safety about 6.30 this morning when we got the email saying that only a very select few students were going to be able to have access to the campus.
And I called public safety and they assured us quite brusquely, I'm at that, that we were able to have access.
And so we walked down here and lo and behold, we're not given access.
You're trying to eat.
And you said you're a low-income student.
Can you explain all this?
I think you just explained it.
I'm trying to eat and I'm a low-income student.
I luckily just heard back from some of the administrators in my program.
They've graciously let us know that we can go to Barnard College or Teachers College, which was to the affiliate universities or colleges of Columbia.
And we can go grab some grub there.
But I'm just not liking the amount of chaos that is ensuing around breakfast.
And finally, what are your thoughts on the fact that your fellow students here have taken over a building, broke in, they've entered, and this has now escalated to where it is?
Oh, I think escalating is the word, right?
I think that it was a misstep, and I wish that they would have engaged with the university when President Shafiq had come to the table last week.
I think that it's a bit of a tragedy, you know?
And I think that we need to pack up and go home.
How does this end?
That's a good question.
I guess that people like yourself in the news have to keep asking tough questions and see where the chips fall.
Do you want to see the NYPD come in here?
No.
No, I don't.
In fact, that was one of the most disruptive elements of the past few weeks.
I've been very concerned to see the amount of guns and armaments around the campus.
And I'm not happy with the presence of the NYPD.
I think any time you have NYPD, it's not.
Even though you can't eat food and you're trying to study, you don't want the NYPD to come in here and break up what's going on?
Hey, look, I'm developing these types of answers to these types of questions over breakfast.
So chat with me later today.
I'll tell you how I feel.
All right, joining us now is former presidential candidate himself.
I guess he's now doing his own podcast.
Vivek Ramaswamy is with us.
When did you get in the podcasting business?
Are you out of your mind?
Yeah, no, it's funny.
I don't think of it as a business anymore, Sean, but I was doing it during the campaign.
And one of my things is I think people who run for political office should be reaching people in a much more transparent context.
So that's one of my...
I give you credit for that.
I'm not being critical.
I think that's actually pretty cool that you do it.
It does take more time, and it's probably more work than you thought when you started, if I'm guessing correctly.
Yep, it is, indeed, like anything worthwhile that's doing.
But I'm continuing some ventures in the business world, trying to drive change in this country in a lot of ways.
And I think fixing the media is an important part of that.
So I'm going to continue calling out a lot of the left-wing mainstream media as I did during the campaign, but in a different context now.
They are so corrupt.
I actually said back in 07 and 08, journalism in America is dead.
I knew I was right.
I had no idea how right I was.
I mean, all of these networks and all these major newspapers and most of the cable networks, you know, slant solidly hardcore left.
They don't cover the news.
They're obsessed with anything that's negative about Donald Trump, and that's all they're obsessed about.
Their willingness to call out Joe Biden.
Look, Joe Biden, I'm looking at Joe Biden.
This is what I see.
I see a president that helped make the mullahs of Iran rich, that has been sucking up to Putin and Russia.
You know, the Nord Stream pipeline gets approved.
Keystone XL gets canceled.
Spy balloons, intellectual property theft, unfair trade practices, hostile maneuvers against our fighter jets and international airspace, hostile maneuvers against our Navy and international waterways.
And what is the penalty for China?
Nothing.
Iran is fighting three proxy wars, and who's helping to pay for it?
Well, Joe Biden by allowing the Iranian mullahs to get rich because he is purchasing some of the oil himself when sanctions are in place that they're not allowed to sell their oil on the world marketplace, but they've been able to take in hundreds of billions of dollars according to estimates.
So if you want to know who's fighting these proxy wars, the Houdi rebels, Hamas, Hezbollah, that would be, in part, Iran with the money that Joe Biden has allowed them to accumulate.
To your point about the media, Sean, you say journalism is dead from the mainstream media.
I wish it were dead in its effect.
But the reality is they are still shaping the way that the American people see not only a lot of the foreign policy disasters, but even many of the domestic enemies that we face right here at home.
If you think about the way the mainstream press would have covered this, if this was another country where you had a presidential candidate in the middle of an election is ordered by the court system in the middle of a politicized prosecution to say that he cannot speak to defend himself against political attacks, we would call that autocracy in another country.
We would call that totalitarian.
And yet right here in the United States, it's the very left that proclaims defending our democracy that has nothing to say about it.
And a media that's actually cheering along, a judge that issues a gag order that stops a U.S. presidential candidate from responding to political attacks in the middle of an election.
Well, President Trump got fined today because he dared to speak out on social media.
Anyone else involved in this case is free to say anything that they want.
He's the only one with the gag order, which is one-sided.
The judge we know donated to Biden in 2020.
All these allegations about family conflicts and benefiting from whatever decision ultimately comes out of this case.
Then, of course, you've got a two-tier justice system.
This was a misdemeanor case whose statute of limitations had run out a long time ago.
We're talking about a bookkeeping error from eight years ago, and this is where we are as a country with one presidential candidate having to sit in a courtroom for God knows how many weeks, and that leaves the field open for the other presidential candidate, main presidential candidate, to go out there and campaign anyplace, anywhere he wants, and say anything he wants.
You know, even talking about Uncle Bosey being eaten by cannibals, and he has the field to himself.
Of course, because that's what it was designed to do, Sean.
And the reality is this gag order isn't just stopping him from talking about the case.
It's effectively stopping him from talking about a relevant political issue that they've made a political issue in the middle of a presidential election.
That is what this whole game has been about.
And I think it's even too much to concede that this is some kind of bookkeeping error when if you look at Alvin Bragg's theory of this case, just to think about this legally for a second, right?
I'm going to wear my old hat from law school.
Okay.
I spent three years at Yale Law School.
And I'll tell you, if those professors, if this was not Donald Trump, they would be teaching this as a textbook case of prosecutorial abuse.
Because Alvin Bragg's whole theory of the case is that Donald Trump should have used campaign funds to make a personal hush money payment.
The truth is if he had used those campaign funds, that would be the stronger case that they could have used to bring against him.
And yet he didn't.
So if they're going to get him going or they're going to get him coming, that means the whole thing is a farce.
And this is really just designed to fulfill a campaign promise that Alvin Bragg, just like Letitia James.
But here's the problem.
Here's the problem, Vivek, is that the odds of a guilty verdict, I would argue, in this venue are very high with this judge that, frankly, should have recused himself.
Well, look, this is the whole reason these cases were brought, Sean.
They took a portfolio strategy, right?
Jack Smith's case may now get postponed until after the election.
Well, this is their backup case.
And so the whole system has decided they need to do whatever is required to keep one man from reassuming the White House.
That's what you're seeing.
It's like an anaphylactic response of a body to an allergy.
That's what you see from this.
And let me tell you, Vivek, you're not describing a Democratic republic.
You're not describing a constitutional republic.
You're describing a banana republic to me.
That's what you're saying.
That is right.
We have descended into a banana republic, Sean.
And I think we live in a 1776 moment right now.
And I don't say that lightly.
Our founding fathers will be rolling over in their graves right now.
And this is a moment for us to rediscover what this country was founded on.
Sure, we'll have elections where we fight about lower tax rates or higher tax rates.
This isn't one of those elections.
This is an election that goes to the basic rules of the road that this country was founded on.
Are we or are we not a nation founded on the rule of law?
Are we or are we not a nation that believes that every person gets to decide who they elect as U.S. president?
Or are we a country where you try to eliminate one of those candidates?
Are we not a country where you get to speak your mind freely, even if you're a Republican within the context of a Democratic administration?
That's what's on the table in this election.
And I think that for that reason, independents, libertarians, even some orphaned Democrats, if they open their eyes, should be coming over to deliver us a landslide margin.
And I do think we need a landslide this year.
A landslide minus some shenanigans is still going to be a victory.
That's what we need to unite this country.
Listen, but we're 188 days away from Election Day, and that's Election Day.
Voting starts way before that.
So we have to factor that in as well.
And we're putting all of this up on Hannity.com.
We have an interactive map, which will tell you what the registration deadlines are, when early voting starts and stops, trying to give people as much information as possible.
However, you know, you're discussing a possible landslide.
I cannot tell you with any degree of confidence what's going to happen on November 5th and what the result will be by November 6th or 7th or 8th.
I can't tell you with any degree of confidence how this is going to turn out.
Of course not.
And I think that the reality is we cannot be complacent.
I do see this attitude of complacency sometimes setting in, looking at these poll numbers.
Absolutely not.
Complacency is not an option.
You don't like early voting?
Too bad.
You've got to play by the rules that we have in order to be able to change the rules to what they actually should be.
And I do think that Republicans can't just be talking.
By the way, there's only a few of us saying that.
I've been saying it now for a couple of years.
Early voting, voting by mail, legal ballot harvesting.
Republicans better catch up to match and surpass the efforts of Democrats because they've mastered it.
On the issue of abortion, you better understand that that could be the difference between winning or losing.
And you need to know where the country is on the issue, not where you may personally be.
And some people claim, well, Hannity, you're selling out your principles.
I'm not selling them out at all.
I'm giving you the reality that we're facing in this environment.
Well, look, I think the future of our country is actually at stake.
You know, the American Revolution took about seven years to fight from 1776, a little over seven years.
If we don't get this right in the next five to seven years, I think there's a very real risk that we don't have a country left.
Certainly not the same one that you and I do.
And that's what's at issue right now.
And so you don't like the rules?
That's fine.
Change the rules.
Put yourself in a position to actually do it.
I want single-day voting on Election Day as a national holiday with paper ballots and government-issued ID to match the voter file.
Heck, Sean, I favor making English the sole language that ever appears on a ballot in this country.
I don't think that's too much to ask.
But we have to win the election and win it decisively, Senate and House included, to be able to then get that into law.
And yes, are there administrative steps that even the administration alone could take to secure elections?
Absolutely.
In fact, the Department of Homeland Security, which with which you have Majorca squatting on top of right now, one of the things they're also charged with, many people don't know, is the responsibility of election security in this country.
So are there steps we could take both through lawmaking and even through executive minimum standards that we set for federal elections?
Yes, there are, but we have to win in order to do it.
And that's where we've got to be laser focused, not counting our chickens before they hatch.
I will tell you, I hope people are hearing you loud and clear.
You're echoing my message on early voting, voting by mail, and what the Republicans need to do and the critical nature of the time that we're living in.
This is going to be a very consequential election for the country.
And I'll tell you, I just shudder to think if Biden were to win four more years, God help us.
Vivek Ramaswamy, we appreciate you being with us, sir.
As always, thank you.
Thank you, Sean.

So when I got word on Friday that this attack by Iran, the number one state sponsor of terrorism, was going to happen against Israel, I got very alarmed.
I had a couple of friends that I knew were in Israel for varying reasons.
And John Andrasik, for example, he was there to sing that song.
We'll play it again maybe tomorrow.
We'll have John on the program.
But he was there and he was literally singing his music before the people of Israel just hours before this unprecedented attack by the Iranian regime.
Another friend of mine was there, somebody everybody's familiar with, and it's the great one, Mark Levin.
So it was literally during this radio program, I'm feverishly typing away and texting away, Mark, are you awake?
Mark, are you awake?
I'm texting his family.
Is anybody there?
I need you to get a hold of Mark.
Call Mark.
Tell him I needed to talk to him.
Tell him it's an emergency.
Tell him it's an emergency.
Because I have very good sources in Washington, and they told me that they thought it was likely going to happen after sunset on Friday.
It ended up happening on Saturday.
Mark, by some miraculous way, you know, it's six hours later.
He was asleep.
And he woke up.
He saw my text and he called me immediately.
I said, Mark, this is real.
These sources are impeccable.
And he said he understood and he had been hearing similar things himself.
And anyway, he was there up until yesterday.
And now he's home safe.
I assume you're going to be on your radio program in, what, about 20 minutes from right now.
And you're going to tell a lot more.
I'm not trying to steal your thunder here.
I just wanted to say, first, welcome home.
And I'm grateful you're okay.
And you had a lot of interesting things that you were telling me while you were there.
How are you doing?
Hey, buddy.
First of all, I will tell you, I had no fear whatsoever.
I mean, you had one of the greatest militaries on the face of the earth that has dealt with this really day in and day out in one form or another, and that's the Israeli military, backed up by the greatest military on the face of the earth, the United States military.
The only fear you would have is that Joe Biden would screw things up.
He pretty much did.
I was watching reports at the time, Sean, about how the people are psychologically affected.
The people in Israel are very, very strong people.
And I saw it more in the middle of this than ever before.
Let me tell you something.
These people are warriors.
They are not backing down.
They have nowhere to go, Sean.
They can't just agree to whatever Biden says, the Chancellor of Germany or the UN.
They have nowhere to go.
This has been their land for 4,000 years.
And they are not going anywhere.
And they will fight to the end if they have to.
The only people holding them back from literally crushing Iran are the Democrats or the Europeans and Biden and so forth and so on.
Biden's been the worst, but I don't want to interrupt you.
Go ahead.
As far as I'm concerned, and my wife, my mother-in-law, my stepson who were there, we were fine.
But I want the American people to understand, when you go in a hotel there, there are signs to the nearest shelter everywhere.
When you walk down the streets, there's signs on the nearest shelter everywhere.
This country is under constant seize by Iran.
Missiles are coming today as we speak from Hezbollah, which is a massive terrorist army that has destroyed Lebanon.
They assassinated the former president of Lebanon to take it over, who was Christian.
It was a Christian Muslim country.
It was a real pearl in the Middle East.
It was a fantastic democracy.
They destroyed it.
Lebanon, the Gaza Strip, the PLO, now Iraq, Yemen.
And so this whole thing about a two-state solution shows you what a bunch of ignoramuses we're dealing with.
What two-state solution?
Iran's not interested in a two-state solution.
Iran's interested in control, including with us.
And what really upsets me, Sean, is as I was sitting there thinking about it, I was sitting in this cell.
I was pissed off.
Can I confirm one thing?
You remember, and I've been to Israel a number of times, as you have been.
And during one of those trips is when I went into the terror tunnels, and this was in the middle of a flare-up.
Actually, I saw a rocket literally explode, you know, two or three hundred yards away from me while I was there.
I went to a place to eat one day.
I went back the next day and the parking lot, cars had been bombed out from the night before.
I went to a town called Starot, which is on the border of Gaza.
You can see Gaza with the naked eye.
And this is where 10,000-plus rockets at that time had been fired into that one border town alone.
And I saw the remnants of recovered rockets in the police station when I was there.
And this is the town where I went into the underground playground bunkers.
Kids can't play outdoors because if they fire a rocket, it's there in 10 to 13 seconds.
They don't have enough time to get to safety.
So the kids never come out.
And let me just reaffirm a point you made.
I was asking the people, because this was during a flare-up too, and the kibbutz had got hit the night before, which is a neighborhood in Israel.
And I was asking the people, why do you stay?
And they looked at me like I was insane.
And the answer was an affirmative.
This is our home.
We're not leaving.
And I was stunned at the answer because I thought, well, what would I do?
When I said I'd probably try and find a safer place to live and let my kids get some vitamin D and play outside.
But I can, from my experience, what you are saying, this is the threat they have lived under their whole lives since the UN partition plan in 48.
And Sean, here's the problem.
You have all these people calling Netanyahu, telling him what to do and so forth.
He said that he appreciates all the advice and the different suggestions, but he's going to do what he needs to do.
The people of Israel want Iran to be hit.
You cannot defend yourself by simply defending yourself.
You've got to take out the missile silos and other things.
And from my perspective, when you listen to Joe Biden, this is very, very important.
When he said the United States will not support Israel, should it go on offense?
He's saying that includes: should Israel go after their nuclear sites, they will not support Israel.
Bottom line, America, is Joe Biden has already telegraphed to Iran that they can go ahead with their nuclear program.
He has effectively funded their nuclear program.
He's effectively funded their terrorism act through Hamas and Hezbollah and the PLO and the rest against Israel.
He's actually transferred more money, directly and indirectly, to Iran than to Ukraine.
And he has had no support from the United States Congress.
They don't even ask the United States Congress what this man is doing.
And the fact of the matter is, I don't want to get into my conversations I had with top people over there, but I have my own view, and I also posted it and I told you about it.
A lot of this was choreographed.
I've never seen drones come in that have lights on them.
What the hell do drones have lights on them for?
Nobody puts lights on drones.
When you shoot them at night, the whole point is to shoot them at night.
They came in with lights.
I saw it.
They came in with lights on them.
And why?
Because they wanted them to be hit.
They wanted to go through this process.
That's not to say the strategic defense activities aren't very, very important.
But if Iran was going to attack Israel a different way, it would have been more difficult for Israel to defend.
And Israel would have gone on immediate offense.
Immediate offense.
People need to understand.
The Israeli Air Force is one of the greatest air forces on the planet.
These pilots, they take the jets that we sell them, whether they're S-15s, F-16s, now S-35s, and so on, and they change them.
They add more technology.
And the deal is when they develop more technology and add more technology, they agree to share it with the United States.
It's the same with these various defense missiles, the Patriot missiles and everything.
They've been in a collaboration with the United States for almost 30 years.
Their missile defense system is the most advanced on the face of the earth, more advanced than ours.
How many missile defense systems do we have in the United States?
I happen to know.
I can't divulge that because when I was at justice, I know.
But it is not even close to defending this nation.
Well, they have batteries of them and so forth.
So as they advance, the Iron Dome, the slingshot, they have four different types that I'm aware, there could be more, of missile defense systems depending on the types of missiles that are fired.
And the reason is it's extremely expensive, and they share that information with the United States.
It's one of the reasons India has such a close relationship with Israel because they're facing down China.
And they need the technology to protect themselves, too.
Why is it that Russia and China, and I'm sure that Russia in particular would not mind sharing with Iran why is it they have hypersonic missiles and we don't, Mark?
Because we're in a suicide mission right now, where we'll spend a fortune on everything, more than is necessary, except our security.
And I want to add one last point on this, Sean.
I don't care what people say.
If we don't fund with arms, if we don't provide arms to Israel, to Taiwan, and Ukraine, we've got a huge problem on our hands, because these are our allies.
They're the ones putting lives on the line.
They're one chase to fight Iran and terrorism, the other to confront and stand up to China.
The other is Putin, who wants to cut through Ukraine.
I don't care what people keep saying.
He wants to cut through Ukraine.
He's aimed at the Balkans and Poland.
And you're afraid of a world war?
You're afraid of that sort of thing.
These little countries, they're little countries, Taiwan against China, Ukraine against Russia, Israel against the entire friggin' Middle East.
These people are standing up.
They're putting their lives on the line.
They're doing everything they can.
And it's not like we have, well, I've said enough.
Can I say one quick thing on this impeachment thing?
I'm going to bring up the Constitution very, very quickly, and then I'll let you go.
And I say this not as a braggart.
Nobody has studied impeachment more than I have.
And I've studied the great scholars, Raul Berger, Professor Charles Allen, all the rest.
I've gone back and I looked at that clause, high crimes and misdemeanors.
I went back and looked at English common law.
I went back and looked at what the parliament used to do vis-a-vis the king and so forth and so on.
This is, with the Maorca's impeachment, it is beyond an overwhelming case of high crimes and misdemeanor.
It's not a policy issue, which they throw out there.
That's number one.
Number two, there's not a single word in the history of the debates on our Constitution, and impeachment was the second most debated issue beside the office of the presidency, about the Senate dismissing an impeachment that's brought by the House of Representatives.
So you're dismissing an impeachment with 51 votes, in this case, 51 Democrats, when you're supposed to have a trial.
And if you want to find somebody not guilty, you're required to have a supermajority of two-thirds votes.
So by blowing out the whole process, first time in American history, oh, they'll bring up some of these ridiculous cases.
A guy resigned or sent.
I'm not talking about that.
This guy didn't resign.
There he is.
And to say that, well, there's nothing that says we can't.
You look at the Constitution.
They twisted the 14th Amendment on the ballot.
They twist the impeachment clause on this.
They impeach the election process where the state legislatures are supposed to have a role, not the election boards and the mayors in the city.
They are eviscerating our Constitution.
They are bulldozing it.
And they're supposed to hold a trial.
It doesn't have to be a long trial, but they're supposed to hold a trial in the Senate.
And if they want to find Maorca not guilty, then find him not guilty.
Listen, I agree with you.
And, you know, 41 Republicans can insist on it and bring the Senate to a screeching halt, as we all know.

Hey, if you're like me, your home is your castle.
It's where your family is.
So why aren't you protecting it?
Now, homes across America, they are being stolen in a scam called title theft.
Now, that's why you need home title protection.
Now, think about this.
If no one is watching out for your title, well, then it's just a matter of time until these thieves target you.
Now meet convicted home title thief Matthew Cox, who I sat down with recently to discuss his crimes.
It's extremely easy.
You may have no clue until you find out that your house has been sold or until several banks are foreclosing on you.
Now, this is happening.
This is real.
Matt Cox would agree that monitoring was the only thing that would have stopped him.
Do not fall prey to these thieves.
Just go to hometitalock.com.
Make sure your title is safe.
Use the promo code Sean, S-E-A-N.
They will send you a complete title scan of your home's title, and your first 30 days of triple lock home title protection will be free.
