Time Text
This is an iHeart podcast.
All right, thanks, Scott Shannon.
And our two Sean Hannity show, toll-free it's 800-941.
Sean, if you want to be a part of the program, well, Joe Biden is, of course, defending the Senate border bill that he doesn't need.
All he needs to do is to undo all the damage that he did in his first hundred days by rescinding all the Trump policies that were working.
He does not need a bill to do this.
He never has.
And, you know, trying to look at the three years of border disaster of Joe Biden and then to try and turn this into a Republican problem.
And I need Republicans to fix this.
And I've done all I can.
And I don't know why they don't support this.
When in fact, he has all the power with the stroke of a pen to reinstate all the policies that were working.
But this really is a bill about getting another $60 billion to Ukraine, $14 billion to Israel, which they certainly deserve more support as far as I'm concerned at this point if we're going to be supporting foreign countries.
And, you know, but if you listen to Joe Biden, you know, he's out there defending this bill, and he's just disappointed it doesn't go far enough.
What's your message, Speaker Johnson?
My message, Speaker Johnson, is pay attention to what the Senate's doing.
We got a bipartisan deal.
You're going to see the detail of it.
This week will be introduced on Wednesday.
The border, I've been asking since the first thing, first bill I introduced was on the border.
We don't have enough agents.
We don't have enough folks.
We don't have enough judges.
We don't have enough folks here.
We need help.
Why won't they give me the help all this time?
And now they're starting about the border.
It's out of control.
Well, guess what?
Everything in that bipartisan bill gives me control, gives us control and still meets the needs of the people being able to legally come across, run open avenues of legality, and shut down the ones that are not coming through the points of entry.
So there's a lot we can do.
And the one thing I am disappointed in we didn't get done in the Senate piece was I think it's about time that we have all those young people who came and now they're dreamers.
It's ridiculous.
Can you imagine you're four years old?
Your mom says across the river and say, no, mom, leave me here.
I don't want to go.
Come on.
What the hell's going on here?
And they become contributing Americans and they're doing good jobs and they're decent.
So it's about time we get a little not only compassion, but a little brain, some brains in our head about what you're doing.
And by the way, I've asked for money for those machines that protect fentanyl.
We have these machines.
And these guys are screaming on fentanyl.
Everything he's saying is false.
In his first hundred days, he stopped all construction of the border wall.
By the way, now we see in Texas in Eagle Pass, where they put up that razor wire.
Guess what?
99.99% of illegal immigration taking place there is stopped.
And they now have moved westward towards Arizona and California where it's easier to get across.
He also, as part of this deal, ended the whole catch and release or brought back catch and release that's part of the bill and codifying it into law.
Now the Remain in Mexico policy, he got rid of that on June 1st of 2021.
He's the one that let Title 42 expire.
So all of these things were the things that were working when he inherited the most secure border of any president in the modern era.
Now, add to this, the three long years they've been telling us again and again that the border is closed and the border is secure in spite of what our eyes were showing us.
Now, all of a sudden, it's the Republicans' problem.
And it was his policy choices, his executive orders, that changed all of this to the disaster it has now become.
So you don't get to ship the blame at the last minute.
Now, Republicans had a great border bill.
It was H.R. 2.
But nobody in the Senate seemed to care about H.R. 2.
That's why the House is saying it's dead on arrival.
That's why there's this vote today to maybe begin impeachment proceedings against Alejandro Mayorkas.
We'll see what happens there.
Anyway, Rand Paul, the senator from Kentucky, joins us now.
Sir, how are you?
Very good, Sean.
And you're exactly right.
The big lie is that Biden needs new powers.
He has all the same powers that Donald Trump had.
Donald Trump secured the border.
Biden inherited the same set of laws and says, oh, I can't do it without more powers.
But the bill actually makes it worse.
The bill actually says, oh, well, you could have 5,000 people come across the border every day, and then we'll give you emergency powers to do something.
But they give the emergency powers to the guy we're trying to impeach, Mayorkas.
So they're going to give emergency powers to a guy we don't trust who's already been to the Supreme Court to sue to say that they can cut the razor wire and remove the cargo containers that are the wall.
So there's nothing believable about this.
It's a big lie the Democrats are propagating.
But some Republicans fell into this.
You know, this is under McConnell's leadership that they decided this was a great idea to work with the Democrats, and the bill makes the law worse.
The bill is weaker than what we already have.
Well, I mean, then what's the point of all this?
And I'm listening to James Lankford go out there and basically chastise his fellow Republicans.
And I'm like, read the bill.
Don't read it on Facebook.
All right.
Well, everybody's read the bill, and nobody likes it.
And now that we're pointing out the faults in this bill, very specific faults in the bill, you know, they just retreat to, well, they're going to pass it anyway.
Now, the problem is, is the House does not have a very big majority, as you know, and they have, you know, a very slim hold on stopping this, if, in fact, I guess it even makes it to the House.
I assume if you pass this bill in the Senate with the Ukrainian package and the Israel package, that I guess you'd go to conference at some point, but I don't see any deal being made in conference to you.
No, I think the deal is dead now.
The House has said Speaker Johnson says it's dead on arrival, but I think even the Senate, McConnell leadership are waking up to this.
And I think in the end, they're going to vote no on Wednesday.
I think there's a chance Langford votes no on Wednesday on the home bill he negotiated.
So it is a disaster of a bill.
It's a terrible idea.
And the thing is, is waiting until you get 5,000 people coming across the border before you begin having emergency, it's an emergency now.
We've been letting in 300,000 a month illegally.
That's an emergency.
But Chris Murphy, you know, is the liberal Democrat from Connecticut who negotiated.
All you got to do is read his tweets.
He said the quiet part out loud.
He said, nothing in this closes the border.
The border never closes.
And this is the interesting thing.
This is a real detail, but think about it.
If they get to 5,000 a day, they're going to close illegal border crossings, but they're going to leave the legal border crossings.
So all you have to do is you no longer have to swim across the river.
Now you walk down and you're still allowed to come into the port, even when there's 5,000 a day.
So this doesn't stop anything.
And Chris Murphy's actually being honest here.
The border never closes.
There is no closing of the border.
And we're talking about $1.8 million a year coming across illegally.
So I think they're starting to pivot.
I think what you're going to see, and I just came from my Republican Senate caucus.
By the way, there were rumors that it got pretty heated in there today.
Is that true?
Yeah, no, I can never tell you, but it's top secret.
But yeah, there's a lot of tension.
Well, you know what?
You could say, say, well, Sean, I've known you for a long time, and your sources seem to be pretty impeccable.
You can say it that way.
Yeah, I could say that, or I could say I'd have to kill you if I told you.
It's so confidential.
Either one works for me.
But it is.
It is contentious.
But here's what the thing is, is my sense and overall description of what I'm hearing from my caucus, they're going to pivot, but they're never giving up on shoveling your money away to Ukraine.
Now, I will tell you, one senator stood up and said exactly what I would say is I go home every weekend, and I have yet to have a Kentuckian come up to me and say, hey, please send more money to Ukraine.
What they say is we've got problems here at home, and we need to do stuff here at home, but they're not interested in shoveling more money out the door.
And I will say, even for our friend Israel, it ought to be paid for.
Senator Johnson or Speaker Johnson put it forward.
They've already passed it.
I've supported it in the Senate.
$14 billion.
Well, I mean, that is the thing.
The Israelis just need the equipment now, and they're willing to purchase it.
They're not even asking for a handout.
Exactly.
The $14 billion has been sort of offered without any request yet from Israel.
But if there's any more money given, even to allies, it ought to be taken away from excess spending or less important spending somewhere else.
And so when Speaker Johnson came forward, he did it.
He passed it and took IRS money to pay for it.
And now they're talking about passing it again with no pay for.
So I think it's a terrible step backwards.
And I'm not for any foreign aid that's not paid for.
It has to be taken from somewhere else in the budget that's less important.
I agree.
I mean, so walk me through the process.
Why, as this bill was being written behind closed doors, I guess in smoke-filled rooms, to use that old cliche, but why weren't they out there talking to people like you and Ted Cruz and Mark Orubio and conservatives in the Senate and keeping them in the loop?
If you remember when it got leaked that the 5,000 number on any given day, Lankford just was vicious and said, you know, that's not true.
That's not in there.
Well, it turns out it was in there.
Well, see, this is the big thing going on.
In our caucus lunch today, someone brought that exact point up and they said, if this had been public, one person wouldn't have had to take all the blame.
It would have gone back and forth and conservatives would have immediately said that that's too high.
So I'm walking back from the Capitol this morning over my office and a reporter's asking me, what would a number be?
And I say, well, zero, because there's already an emergency.
We let in 700,000 people in the last two months illegally.
So the number should be zero.
The emergency is already there.
The emergency isn't another 5,000 tomorrow.
The emergency is the 700,000 people who came in.
So that number of 5,000 a day should be zero.
And then you would have a chance of having a bill.
The emergency starts.
Well, that would actually be lawful, Senator.
You know, God forbid, I know you're a lawmaker, but I mean, these laws are on the books.
We've gone over them in great detail, which are the applicable laws.
We've also gone over all of Joe Biden's executive orders slashing and burning the Trump policies on the border that worked.
Yeah, and the current law that Trump operated under and controlled the border basically says that the president may admit people through migrant asylum through political asylum.
It doesn't say shall.
So we believe that the current immigration law gives the president at any point in time, if they have the courage to do it, to stand up and say, enough's enough.
We're stopping.
We're closing the border.
No illegal crossings, but no legal crossings for asylum.
We're just going to stop it.
By the way, and Joe Biden and Majorkas and Kamala and Karine Jean-Pierre and Jen Saki, they've all been saying for three years that the border's secure and closed.
And meanwhile, we have nearly 10 million illegal immigrants unvetted all over the country, coming from places like Iran, Syria, Afghanistan, Egypt, Russia, and China.
Can you explain to me why people from those countries are ending up at our southern border?
Because I don't have very good thoughts about it.
This is the problem that underlies the whole process.
So by McConnell agreeing and Langford doing his bidding to say we're going to negotiate with the guy that the House is impeaching, we're on different planets here.
So the House is impeaching Majorkis for not obeying the law.
Impeachment's a big deal.
We haven't impeached a cabinet member in a long, long time.
To have a cabinet member impeached, and at the same time, McConnell and Langford decide we're going to negotiate with this guy because they're so trustworthy.
We'll give him more power and we'll think Majorkis is going to control the border with more power when we're impeaching him for malfeasance right now.
The disconnect between these people, they should.
Well, that's what I'm trying to understand.
Bring us behind closed doors and explain to me why they thought that they could somehow convince conservatives that this bill is worthy of being passed when they weren't even bringing any of you into the process.
Well, I'll tell you what I do here behind the scenes is I hear from people in our caucus who talk to sources high up who say, we need to make sure Sean Annity's not talking about this to Laura Ingram because conservatives, that's why they kept it secret.
And that was said out loud in our caucus that said this has to be kept and it cannot be allowed to go in front of the conservative talk show host.
It cannot be allowed to discuss.
That's why it's secret.
So they kept it secret for weeks.
Wait a minute.
My name was mentioned specifically?
Specifically, that they did not want there to be any of this discussion.
They said if it would percolate for a week or two, the conservatives and the conservative talk show hosts will defeat this.
And to them, it's always been mostly, it's all about Ukraine.
Everything in this is about Ukraine and funneling the money to Ukraine.
The border's been a sideshow, but they knew that conservatives wouldn't like it if it wasn't any good, so they had to keep it secret with a hope in the end.
But it leaks, and the thing is, is once it leaked, it was so bad that many people now, and I'm one of them, believe that this proposal is actually worse than the current law is.
It's amazing that they want to keep things away from the people in this country.
I thought that I had this ridiculous idea, and I think I was taught this in school, and I clearly was misinformed by my teachers and my professors.
But, you know, I actually had this belief that elected officials were public servants, not people that were trying to hide things from the people that put them in power.
Yep, and this is a disappointing thing.
I mean, any kind of transparency you think would be an easy bipartisan thing.
I have a bill right now to make it transparent that all scientists that get government money should have to reveal where they get their royalties from, that they get the royalties from Pfizer, Moderna, Big Pharma.
They should have to fill out a piece of paper saying, I get this much money from these companies, and I'm fighting tooth and nail to get even a Democrat co-sponsor.
All right, quick break more with Senator Ram Paul of Kentucky on the other side.
Also, your calls coming up, 800-941-Sean, our number as we continue.
Cornpop, stand-up, Chuck, and dog-face pony soldier.
That's just a few of the fighter moments you recall when you walk down Joe's memory lane.
You can't make this up.
And with Biden in office, you don't have to.
This is the John Annity Show.
Hey, we all know by now that atrocities were committed by Hamas last October the 7th, which kicked off a vicious war as Israel now is defending herself from terrorists on every side.
Now, the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews are right there in the middle of this every single day, and they've been there from day one.

All right, we continue now with Senator Ram Paul here in a second.
I want to first play Chuck Schumer and how he is describing this Ukraine-Israel border bill and how crucial it is.
And people will look over our shoulders.
Did we rise to the occasion?
Yeah, you rose to the occasion of failing miserably again, Chuck.
This bill is crucial, and history will look back on it and say, did America fail itself?
Why is it crucial?
Well, if we don't aid Ukraine, Putin will be walk all over Ukraine.
We will lose the war, and we could be fighting in Eastern Europe and a NATO ally in a few years.
Americans won't like that.
So this is crucial for America.
It's a turning point.
History is going to look over our shoulders and say, did we rise to the occasion?
All right.
We continue with Senator Ram Paul of Kentucky.
I've been promoting your book a lot.
I urge everybody to get a copy of Deception, and I'll tell you why.
If you want the definitive story and the case in point about how bad Dr. Fauci was during this entire pandemic, it's all there in black and white with all the emails that are eye-opening and how awful Fauci's leadership was and how dishonest the entire NIH and the world, frankly, were to the American people the whole time.
And anyone that dared to take a counter narrative to that, like you, you know, were excoriated for it, and you ended up being right the whole time.
Well, you know, we reveal in the book that there were meetings early on in February of 2020 between Fauci and some of the scientists that were working with the scientists in China.
They knew from a previous proposal that COVID-19 looked exactly like a virus they had proposed to do with the Chinese scientists, but they never revealed this.
They never revealed it to anyone in government.
They never warned us that this pointed right at the Wuhan lab.
They knew that in early 2020, and all these scientists said not a one-a-word, one word publicly to warn us, and they claim that they didn't inform the White House either.
If you believe that, and also add to that, they tried to push this ridiculous wet market theory on everybody.
And by the way, have you heard about this new version of COVID that would kill everybody?
Is that real?
Is anybody looking into whether that's factual?
They are still, and this is coming from China, they are still manipulating the coronavirus, which is COVID is a coronavirus.
And they did it recently.
They manipulated it such that it was 100% fatal to rats.
And then it also is affecting the brain of the rats as well, the nervous system.
And so, no, these crazy kind of Frankenstein experiments are still going on.
And my fear is that we're doing them here in the United States as well.
I'm working on a bill that we're trying still to get Democrat co-sponsorship.
And that would be to make a separate federal advisory board that overlooks all dangerous research and can veto this research if it's a risk.
And that has to happen because my fear is that what happened with COVID-19 could happen again, but with a much more dangerous virus the next time.
All right, Senator, we appreciate you being with us.
Staying a little extra.
800-941-Sean, our number, Rich is in St. Louis, Missouri.
Rich, how are you?
Glad you called.
Thanks for checking in.
I'm doing great, Sean.
Love your show, and it's truly an honor to talk to you.
Thank you.
The honor is all mine, and we love our friends in St. Louis.
Hey, I'm glad to hear that you have so much power now that you could kill bills.
Apparently, they don't want me to know about what's in them.
That is pretty amazing, isn't it?
You know, I mean, they don't want, it's not me that they're targeting here.
They don't want the information that I'm going to get going to you.
They want to hide this.
They want to do all this behind closed doors.
Pretty amazing, isn't it?
I'm not offended by it.
I mean, now I know officially from Jim Jordan that my social media presence was purposefully reduced by our government leading into the last election.
That's what he told me on this program.
But I digress.
It's not about me.
I will tell you, it's about keeping information from we, the people.
But you go, what's on your mind?
Well, you know, the reason I called is I'm still trying to wrap my brain around how Republican senators like Lankford and Mitch McConnell can say that this was a good compromise.
I mean, even Obama said that the standard for a crisis was $1,000 a day.
What's changed?
What's changed is the Democratic Party, the modern Democratic Party, is a new radical, leftist, socialist, climate alarmist, religious cult party.
They're not like old-time Democrats.
Maybe the canary in the coal mine was when the Democratic Party rejected even Joe Lieberman for crying out loud.
Joe Lieberman was a moderate Democrat.
He was not a hardcore left-wing Democrat.
Are there any left?
No, they're gone.
I mean, Kristen Sinema has claimed this mantle, but she was one of the authors of this bill.
The border never closes.
Just focus on those words of Chris Murphy.
The border never closes.
$1,400 a day minimum, even if the border is being overwhelmed.
I mean, that is not, that's, first of all, we're codifying with this law all of the illegal things that Joe has been doing in the first place.
I mean, it's wrong on so many different levels.
And the idea that Joe is trying to flip this issue.
Remember, they've told us for three years there's no crisis at the border.
The border's secure.
The border's closed.
And meanwhile, we're looking at migrants, you know, these huge caravans of illegal immigrants just walking across the country unvetted.
And the more we get to know about people on the terror watch list, what countries people are coming from, why are people from China showing up at our southern border?
Why from Russia?
Why are they showing up at our southern border from Iran and Syria and Egypt and Afghanistan?
Why is that?
Doesn't that seem odd to you?
Does that not seem like we might be inviting into the country people that don't have our best interests at heart?
Seems also scary, doesn't it?
Well, it is scary.
That's why elections matter.
We got one in, well, 272 short days.
I hope people are paying attention.
Anyway, Rich, appreciate it, buddy.
God bless you.
800-941-Sean, if you want to be a part of the program.
George in my home state, the free state of Florida.
George, how are you?
Glad you called, sir.
Hey, Sean.
Thanks for taking my call.
Hey, I was watching the president this afternoon, and I was kind of frustrated because he doesn't mention the humanitarian crisis that's going on behind the border.
You know, I have four kids, Sean, and I've taught them to work hard, study hard, and always have a side hustle, and always do to others what you want them to do to you, the golden rule.
And my son, working a side job at a restaurant here in central Florida, he befriended a Hispanic gentleman in a kitchen.
And after a while, he told my son that he crossed the border illegally, and he had left his area of Mexico with 12 other people, husbands and wives, pregnant women, and everybody had bottles of water, and it was days traveling in the desert.
And it was after at the end of the trip, only three people survived, Sean.
Wow.
And he had to do things that basically my son shared that he's basically spent the last 10 years coping with distress by drinking hard in the bottle.
He buried all his things he had to do to make choices of, all right, this person's not going to make it.
Do we leave him with water or do we take the water?
So there's things that was unbelievably happening.
So if you go with the 5,000 people crossing the border in a day, there are 15,000 people behind that border losing their lives and destroying their families because of this administration.
And, you know, and the only way we're going to, I don't know if we could, you know, could fix it, but if the legacy media would get off their butt, maybe your best friend, not your best friend, but one of your friends, you can get Ted Koppel to come out of retirement.
I'm Ted Koppel, and this is Nightline.
Hannity, you're dangerous, remember?
The most dangerous man in America.
Because you're good at what you do.
I learned a new term after I gave Ted Koppel over an hour of my time, and he edits it down to like a minute and 20 seconds or whatever it was, and he only makes himself look good, and he cuts off my answer.
You're not, you're cynical.
Look at that.
Yeah, I am cynical because, you know.
You think we're bad for America?
You think I'm bad for America?
Yeah, you do.
In the long haul, I think you and all these opinions, Ted.
No, you know what?
That's sad.
Because you're very good at what you do and because you have attracted a significantly more intelligent.
Let me finish the sentence.
Let me do that.
With all the rest of the people.
Yes.
You have attracted people who are determined that ideology is more important than facts.
Yeah, he thinks I'm bad for America.
Anyway, I think it's good that he's in retirement because, you know, old school, classic liberal, acting like a journalist.
He's anything, but he was the talk show host just like me.
He just didn't want to admit it.
Anyway, my friend, I don't know what's wrong with these people.
I really don't.
All right, quick break right back.
We'll continue.
We'll get to the phones, 800-941-Sean on number as we continue.
The final hour of the Sean Hannity Show is up next.
Hang on for Sean's conservative solutions.
800-941-SEAN, our number.
Tina is in Utah.
Tina, how are you?
Where in Utah are you?
I'm good.
How are you doing, Sean?
I'm good.
Where do you live in Utah?
Kerns, Utah.
That's a suburb.
I just wanted to say, you know what, when I started in politics, which was quite a long time ago, well, I wouldn't say too long, Obama.
I was hilarious, and I've got smarter since then.
I did vote for Obama, but I wasn't into politics.
But when you listen to politics, you really understand.
But now I just don't understand the Republican Party now.
I transferred over to the Republican Party, and I'm like, they're not doing anything for us either because none of them have each other's back.
They cannot decide on something.
And it's just crazy.
So what do you do?
Well, let me just tell you about the Republican Party.
There are very good conservative people in the House and Senate.
There are people that you can always count on to fight for conservative principles.
Then you've got this other group of people.
It's sort of like the Democratic Party light, or you can call it a uniparty if you want, and a bunch of people that don't stand on their principles.
They say one thing, they get elected.
And then when given an opportunity, they pull a fast one.
I mean, we just heard from Rand Paul specifically.
They did not want people like me getting a hold of this bill because they knew that they knew what they had in there was not going to be palpable with conservatives.
So rather than being straight with us or honest with us, they try to hide it from us and then try and sell it off as something that is not and basically lie to us and manipulate us.
You know, they seem more concerned about their relationship with the likes of Chuck Schumer.
And meanwhile, Chuck Schumer and Chris Murphy and Kristen Sinema, they've got to be laughing at the likes of Langford for going along with this stupid idea of theirs.
There's nothing that Joe Biden needs in terms of the tools to close the border.
And that should have been communicated to all of them.
He can undo the damage that he created on day one, and they can then admit that for three years they've done nothing but lie to us.
And I just keep going back to it because Joe Biden created this crisis like he created the economic crisis, like we have a foreign policy crisis unfolding before our eyes, war in Europe, war in the Middle East.
We have enemies that have no respect for Joe Biden.
We're in a bad spot right now.
And the only thing I see that can change it is a new president in 272 days.
You know, one thing I'll say about Trump is Trump did give Republicans a spine.
Republicans that were weak were called out, and they didn't want to be on the wrong side of history.
And he gave them strength that, frankly, otherwise they didn't have on their own.
And it's a shame.
You shouldn't have to look to other people for strength.
So, you know, there's the answer.
There are Republicans, frankly, that they're just a spitting image of the Democratic Party, and they're there to get along and to get reelected and stay in power and be called senator and congressman.
Anyway, 800, Matthew, Florida.
Matthew, you're next.
Thank you, Tina.
What's going on, Matthew?
Hey, Sean, how are you?
Good, sir.
So my question is: it seems like all of a sudden the Democrats seem to care about the border after three years of not caring, and now they're blaming this crisis on the Republicans for not getting their way on this bill.
Are the American people actually going to believe that the Democrats care about the border?
There are going to be people that I'll lie to that will believe the big lie that somehow Joe Biden needs this power.
He does not.
I've gone through this again and again and again.
He does not need any authority from Congress.
He needs to enforce existing laws and bring up the policies, bring them back that he got rid of when he became president with the stroke of a pen.
He got rid of them with a stroke of a pen.
He can bring them back with the stroke of a pen.
So all of this is a great lie.
You know, after three years of lying about the border being closed, now we're up to 10 million unvetted, you know, illegal Joe Biden immigrants in our country.
What are we supposed to do then?
Joe Biden just can't figure it out, it seems like.
Yeah, well, there's one answer.
You know, I think Joe's tired.
I think Joe needs to go home and go to sleep.
I think he needs a rest.
I think he's done all he can do for his country.
Now go home.
He's done enough damage.
Anyway, I appreciate the call, my friend.
