Thank you, Scott Shannon.
And thanks to all of you for being with us.
800-941-SHAWN. | |
You want to be a part of the program.
Thoughts, prayers uh are with our friends in the free state of Florida and our friends in Georgia.
And later tonight, by the time I guess I get on the air, our friends in South Carolina, uh, it'll be back to Hurricane Force Winds Um later tonight as it it le begins leaving Georgia.
So the the northern part of the coastal areas of Georgia will will see category will see Hurricane Force winds as as will uh the coast of South Carolina.
So uh please everybody you know take this seriously.
Uh I'm sure most of you have seen the f the flooding has just been out of control in certain areas.
It's just horrible. | |
Whenever you see something like that happen, you just think of okay, well, it's not happening to us.
We how do you relate to that?
You have well if you have a heart, a soul, and a conscience, you can relate to it because you know, if people's homes get get ruined, um, you know, it becomes problematic for them, and their lives are up-ended, and they got to get a temporary place to live.
And then after they get a temporary place to live, uh, you know, what's next after that?
Then they gotta rebuild.
Now, what you know, what something that has happened that a lot of people aren't paying attention to, and it's actually a big article, actually a really interesting one, but it's it's it's just true, especially after last year in Florida, the cost of home insurance has just grown astronomically.
You know, a 20% increase in home insurance premiums this year alone compared to 2022.
Now, some twelve percent of U.S. homeowners that they just can't afford it, so they're now risking the loss of their residences and all their belongings if some type of calamity strikes.
That's that's not good for people.
And anyway, more Americans now are declining to buy home insurance because of it's such it's becoming increasingly expensive, at times even cost prohibitive if you're near coastal areas, and the national average home insurance based on an annual policy that offers dwelling coverage of up to 250,000 went up twenty percent this year to uh 1,428.
Well, you know, most people have more expensive homes than that, double the price of it, and you know, now you're up to $3,000 a year.
That's a lot of cash. | |
And trust me, the people that are making that decision are not making it because they don't want the insurance, they're making it because they don't have any choice.
And you know, God forbid, you know, some type of hurricane tornado, natural disaster occur.
I'm sure the people of Maui weren't expecting what happened there either.
Or the government's disastrous response.
By the way, I'll play it later.
I am so angry at Corinne Jean-Pierre.
Oh, we responded in record time.
No, you did not. | |
You were completely and utterly missing in action with a with a president so out of touch.
You know, when asked a question, uh no comment, no comment.
What do you mean no comment?
An entire island's being burned to the ground.
Then we learn later, oh, their emergency alert system wasn't triggered.
Then we learn after that, oh, you have some environmental lunatic that withheld the release of water desperately needed by firefighters, risking their lives so they could extinguish the fires.
Can't extinguish a fire, you know, with a household.
It's not gonna work. | |
God, so frustrating. | |
Then when he goes there, he's a mumbling, bumbling idiot, you know, talking about, well, I can relate to everything you're going through.
My house I had a kitchen fire once.
I don't want to. | |
Compare difficulties, but we have a little sense, Jill and I. What it's like to lose a home.
Years ago, now 15 years ago, I was in Washington doing meet the press.
It was a sunny Sunday. | |
Lightning struck at home on a little lake.
It's outside of our home, not a lake of big pond.
And hit the wire and came up underneath our home into the heating ducks.
Air conditioning duck.
Make a long story short, almost lost my wife, my 67 Corvette and my cat.
I almost lost my wife, my Corvette, and my cat.
The difference is everybody lost everything, Joe.
Everything. | |
So out of time. | |
I mean, it's it's so pathetic.
And he's mumbling and bumbling.
It just so humiliating for this country.
I'll take the mean tweet guy.
I'll take that guy, the one they want to indict every hour of every day.
That one, that that's the guy that I think would do a better job that did a better job.
By the way, diesel now headed back to five bucks a gallon with the price of that means the price of trucking is going to go uh higher.
Uh that means everything you buy and every store you go to will cost more.
That means inflation. | |
Well, they didn't stop inflation, even though you know we're paying close to seven and a half percent interest rates.
Yeah, under Donald Trump.
Let's see, the gallon of gasoline never got above national average, never got to $3 a gallon, not one time in the four years he was president, as he was simultaneously bringing us towards energy independence, which hadn't been which hadn't happened in 75 years.
It's so frustrating. | |
All of this is so frustrating to me.
You know, but all they want to do is go after Donald Trump.
That's all they want to talk about.
But I'll tell you on the little oh, by the way, did you see Mitch McConnell?
Oh man. | |
This was bad today. | |
He froze for like 30 seconds when asked if he was going to run for re-election in 26.
He just she stood there until one of his aides, you know, comes to.
Oh, uh, Senator, did you did you hear the question?
Are you thinking about re-election?
And he still doesn't answer.
And then the aide waits, he's still not talking.
He just froze up like he did the last time, except for you know, 30 full seconds.
Um I mean, it's it's horrible to see this unfold.
Why do these people stay overstay their time?
Now, you know, he's he's not been sharp, to be very honest for years.
He really hasn't. | |
But and I wish him the best.
Diane Feinstein has no business being a U.S. senator.
None whatsoever. | |
And the only reason that she's still there is the hope that um, you know, what's his name?
Uh Adam Schiff could uh, you know, Nancy Pelosi encouraging it to stay, because she wants Adam Schiff to win an election, because Gavin Newsom has already gone on record saying he's gonna appoint an African American woman to that post.
So it's not going to go to the congenital liar.
So if it means that Diane Feinstein, that her aides have to whisper, just just vote I. Just say I. Say aye.
Yeah. | |
Good Senator. | |
Good. | |
It's it's humiliating.
Just like Joe Biden, he is getting worse before our eyes.
It is getting that bad. | |
By the way, 60% of Americans now believe Joe Biden had a hand in indicting Donald Trump.
Still no answer on the very important question of whether or not uh what why were people from the special counsel's office meeting with the White House counsel of Joe Biden prior and an FBI agent just prior to the indictment of Donald Trump on the on the records issue.
Why did that happen? | |
That that's uh that takes away the whole notion that the Justice Department, part of Joe's executive branch of government, is independent, doesn't it?
By the way, the National Archives so far refusing to release Joe Biden's pseudonym emails unless both Biden and Obama approve.
That's not how this is gonna work.
And I urge James Comer and I urge uh Jim Jordan to hold these people in contempt.
The FBI, by the way, they they won't let an FBI agent testify either.
Well, he's not gonna have his attorney.
They have tried to stymie stifle and stop every single aspect of these congressional investigations because they don't want the truth about the Biden family syndicate coming out.
This country is now looking at a very likely scenario where you have a president.
If he were, if we were allowed to indict a sitting president, would be indicted for bribery and money laundering.
The guy that lied to the American people again and again and again as a candidate as a president.
Never once did I speak to my son Hunter about his foreign business dealings or my brother or anybody for that matter.
Repeated that lie forever.
Until, of course, we heard from whistleblowers and others, and they said, uh, no, not true.
Well, he's never in business with them.
And then the late that evolved into, well, he never himself benefited financially from any of this.
See, he's innocent. | |
That's not what he was telling us.
They just keep spinning the lie.
Now we learn from Devin Archer.
That was Hunter's partner.
Joe was actively involved in calling into meetings with Hunter and Devin in many instances, at least 20 calls that he admitted to.
How many others took place we don't know?
And of course, all that money going into the Biden family coffers.
Add to that, James Comer has discovered some nine Biden family members, nine of them that were paid through these dozens of shell corporations that they found, seemingly no underlying real business behind it.
And uh they're all paid massive amounts of money for something they have no experience in, starting with Hunter.
And the most, you know, the most dramatic case, a slam dunk case, if by any objective measure is the issue with Ukraine and Barisma, especially now that we know in October of 2015 it became official Obama administration policy to give another billion in loan guarantees to Ukraine because they have sufficiently cleaned up a lot of the corruption.
So they believed such an interagency decision was made.
Joe's job was then to deliver that money.
December 4th, 2015, Joe Biden gets a call.
It's from Hunter. | |
At the time he's addicted to drugs.
At the time, you know, when asked if he had any experience in Ukraine or energy or oil gas, no, I have none.
Okay, so he's being paid millions of dollars.
He's in Dubai. | |
He's meeting with Barisma executives, December 4th, 2015.
Five days later, Joe is off to Ukraine, speaks to the Ukrainian Parliament.
We believe that the 5400, if you can believe it, pseudonym emails, uh confirm that Joe Biden was communicating with his son on issues involving Ukraine, and that anyway, they needed DC help desperately.
Well, Hunter can't provide DC help.
Only Joe could provide DC help.
And long story short, that's when he leveraged the one billion taxpayer dollars that he was there to deliver per Obama administration policies to get the prosecutor investigating Barisma.
This was the help that Barisma needed, need DC help.
Well, they got it. | |
Joe leveraged a billion dollars and gave him six hours to fire a prosecutor who uh got fired, son of a B, and guess what the result of that was?
Hunter Biden and the Biden family continued to be enriched and paid massive amounts of money for no qualifications, except if you consider it a qualification that you can get Joe Biden to stop an investigation into a corrupt con or allegations of a corrupt company paying his son a fortune.
That's a service, I will admit that.
That is a type of service.
Wouldn't you say, Linda, that's a service.
If you can get your father, the vice president, to get rid of a prosecutor investigating a company paying you a fortune for uh an industry you know nothing of, I'd say that he probably then earned his money, don't you think?
Yeah, I mean, some people call it a bribe.
But sure, we can call it a service.
Or pedaling influence.
That's that's a and of course, no fair violation from him, no raids, no FBI interviews.
They had the FBI tip him off.
But no, no. | |
Those of us that say, oh, we have equal justice and application of our laws.
No, we don't. | |
Not in America today. | |
Not with this DOJ, and not with this president.
And not with this FBI director.
No, we do not. | |
And that is a travesty for this country.
And I'd like to say they should all be ashamed of themselves, but they have none.
It's all politics for them.
Hey there. | |
I'm Mary Catherine Hamm.
And I'm Carol Markowitz.
We've been in political media for a long time.
Long enough to know that it's gotten, well, a little insane.
That's why we started normally, a podcast for people who are over the hysteria and just want clarity.
We talk about the issues that actually matter to the country without panic, without yelling, and with a healthy dose of humor.
We don't take ourselves too seriously, but we do take the truth seriously.
So if you're into common sense, sanity, and some occasional SAS.
You're our kind of people.

Well, I'm sure many of you have been watching Hurricane Idelia unleash its fury on on Florida starting this morning.
Uh right now it looks like the eye of the storm is halfway between I'm looking at it properly here, actually still in parts of Florida, heading up, you know, towards Savannah into South Carolina by the time I get on the air tonight.
Uh, we have the official meteorologist of the Sean Hannity show, Joe Bastardi is with us.
Uh and um, well, he'll be joining us in a minute, but uh first we want to check in with Florida Attorney General Ashley Mooty.
Uh both of them here. | |
Thank you both for being with us.
Uh Joe's book is the weaponization of weather in the phony climate war.
Uh, first attorney general, great to have you back.
Always wish under better circumstances.
Uh we were all watching this morning.
You know, the flooding was massive.
Uh, I'm sure a lot of damage incalculable this this time.
How are things looking on your end?
Yeah, great to be with you, Sean.
You know, the after a storm like this that of course is catastrophic, you see storm surges.
And we've just been in a high tide and so sheriffs around the state have continued to keep people out of these low lying areas where we are experiencing a high tide.
And the efforts really will now be focused on not just search and rescue, making people making sure people are safe, but as you can imagine with the heat the way it is in Florida these days, tomorrow there's they're saying that the heat index could be in the triple digits.
And so that presents a whole new array of challenges, not just for those that are trying to get back to their property, but for our first responder.
So so proud of those out there that are have been working around the clock for days.
First responders, but then you you know how many people lost power?
I know I know you have prepositioned I read anywhere between thirty and forty thousand uh uh electric company trucks ready to get power back online.
Uh what's the status of that?
Do you have any numbers in terms of power lossage?
Power outage rather? | |
Close to three hundred thousand people without power.
And you know Florida has been through these storms and we know how to prepare and and you you're right we have about thirty thousand power line personnel tasked with restoring power.
They were ready to go and staged uh before this even moves through so that they could respond rapidly and of course that's one of our our concerns especially at this time of year.
You know Florida, I will say this and I know probably you and Governor DeSantis have not slept at all in the last 24 36 hours but I mean you guys know how to deal with hurricanes.
You're very prepared. | |
I had friends of mine in and around the Tampa Clearwater area that were evacuated and it turned out for them it was necessary.
Uh from what you know they're getting reports from some people that are friends that stayed I don't know why people don't take these warnings a little more seriously I think they should, but I believe in freedom you can do what you want.
And but, you know, apparently there's going to be a lot of property damage.
One of the things that's happening, and I'll talk about this later in the program today, is the high cost of homeowners insurance is causing now 20 percent increase this year alone from 2022.
And it's now causing Americans, especially with Biden inflation and, you know, the high cost of everything.
And now gas prices are back to four dollars a gallon and diesel getting close to five dollars a gallon.
That, you know, people are foregoing home insurance and it's gotten that much more expensive in coastal areas.
areas. | |
What are we going to do about that?
Yeah it's incredibly challenging.
I can tell you uh as a fifth generation Floridian uh I I've never seen rates do this and I know that our legislative leaders and Governor DeSantis have had this at the forefront of their mind.
They've called special sessions.
They've passed laws that as time progresses and they can start taking effect, they believe that will bring those rates down.
But you are right. | |
I think not just in Florida, but in many other places, we are facing this challenge of skyrocketing insurance rates.
And that coupled with everything we're seeing from, you know, the glorified Bidenomics out of Washington, which I keep saying to people, please, no more Bidenomics.
afford it anymore. | |
The the person that's just trying to make ends meet I mean at these days it's it's hard to afford everything just to to make it through a month.
I can understand the coastal areas because the the costs of of rebuilding can be astronomical so I I understand people want to live near the water.
I want to live near the water I love the water.
However you got you got to take on a greater risk and certainly a higher premium but even even homes inland and communities inland seem to be getting hit with these higher insurance rates.
Why do you think that is?
Yeah, I think that that is, we are seeing more companies move into the state, but it is challenging as just recently we saw farmers exit the state.
And, you know, insurance doesn't fall within the purview of the AG's office, but I will say that I know that Governor DeSantis focuses on this routinely and is working hard with our leaders to determine, you know, what is it that we need?
we can do within within uh within government to address these skyrocketing rates and I I know that they've been been working diligently to that end.
Well um anyway our thoughts and prayers are with you and all our friends in the free state of Florida and um I'm I'm hoping people can get back in their home sooner than later.
You can get power back up so those air conditioners can get cranking again.
Uh Ashley uh Moody uh who is the Attorney General of Florida.
We wish everybody down there the best.
Thank you for being with us.
Thank you, Sean. | |
Joe Bastardi, uh Chief Meteorologist, Sean Hannity Radio Show, Weatherbell.com is where you can get the latest information from him.
Uh okay, so it hits Florida pretty hard, slams the coastal areas of Florida on the on the west coast of Florida, heading now uh it Georgia's been getting hit hard the last number of hours uh and it's expected to get back to hurricane force winds by the time I get on the air tonight.
So what's going on with this?
Well I I don't know if it's still going to be a hurricane when you're on the air.
I think they may be wind gusts sixty, seventy miles an hour on the coast at that time, because these things oh when they get over land the frictional effects really tear them down, even though they remain strong in the mid and uh mid and upper level section.
What I do want to say something that was an unbelievable job uh Governor DeSantis did last year, especially you remember how bad the uh supply chain was uh last year and uh for for Florida to recover like that out of a storm that hit a very populated area unlike this storm and this is not to Oh it it decimated Fort Myers and surrounding areas just decimated it to this day I mean you know you can see the devastation and and by the way what a difference of response between Joe Biden and
how he didn't handle the fires in Maui versus the response in Florida.
I well yeah yeah the the interesting thing is by the way I wanted to say something because you know inevitably climate change going to get blamed for this I have a podcast called the American Storm where I deal extensively on debunking stuff like what you're seeing right now as far as the climate changes if you want to uh start listening to that every once in a while.
But in this particular case last year, unbelievable job.
Unbelievable job I thought man how are they going to get this thing even if you were prepared and fortunately if you want to put a silver lining on this it hit in an area that is not nearly as populated.
It's misery for the people that have there but that particular area of Florida is not as populated as the southwest part of Florida or the southeast part of Florida which has not taken a hit since Andrew from a major hurricane and you got to wonder about that kind of situation.
But as we get through the night uh the storm here's what happens near the center of the storm because of frictional effects the atmosphere in the mid and upper levels is not lined up with the low level so the wind isn't quite as strong.
It's off to the east on the beaches.
I'm looking at winds gusts sixty, sixty five miles an hour on the South Carolina north uh Georgia coast already and they will have that spread up the beach for three to five hours uh Charleston around nine o'clock it'll be in myrtle about three o'clock tomorrow morning near Cape Fear uh about eight nine o'clock in the morning that's when the strongest core the coastal winds come up.
Now I want to address the outer banks because this will they're going to get a lot of rain but it's going to play possum with the wind until tomorrow midday and afternoon.
When the storm center gets offshore what happens is the frictional effects of the land diminish.
So it lines the wind back up again and you folks unlike Charleston uh and uh savannah with the south wind you're going to get it on the north wind.
That's when the wo wind's really going to come in and there's going to be some uh flooding from the storm as it comes up but the greater flooding could be what we call sound side flooding from Pamlico Sound and the fact that you're going to dump a ton of water into those rivers that come into Pamlico Sound.
So that those back uh the the back part of the uh the outer banks may get it worse from the Pamico Sound uh flooding.
So that's something you got to consider.
Each one of these areas has a unique problem that you have to deal with and so as it comes through the general gist of it is tornadoes are a possibility tonight into tomorrow morning near the path of the storm.
Uh six to twelve hours is uh it's going to rain like a hurricane because it is one uh from uh the from uh the Piedmont of South Carolina through North Carolina it will exit tomorrow afternoon or sorry we'll clear out everything on Friday and the uh Labor Day weekend we'll have this sor storm well out at sea still some rough surf but uh the worst will certainly be over.
All right, Joe Bastardi, official meteorologist, Sean Hannity show to Sir, thank you for that update.
We appreciate it. | |
Uh prayers with our friends in Florida, Georgia, uh, South Carolina, North Carolina.
Those that have been hit or about to get hit, uh, hang in there.
I always urge people just listen to the, you know, they're not the experts, but what's the worst case scenario?
You you go on shore, move uh away from the coastal areas, you know, as soon as you can get back, you just head on home.
Not a big deal. | |
Uh, unless, of course, you're an emergency responder, then you have no choice.
So we had a hard time getting the suspicious activity reports uh from the Treasury Department.
Then the FBI didn't want to hand over the 1023 form.
And there's been one obstacle after another after another after another.
Now we're not going to be really able to hear from David Weiss, who we they were supposed to speak to in September, uh, who spent five years and wanted to give Hunter no charges at all, only because of the IRS whistleblowers was he his hand forced,
and then he came up with a sweetheart deal that was struck down in court because he the prosecution had to admit uh when asked by the judge, have you ever seen uh a plea deal like this with complete immunity for Hunter uh that was buried in the gun diversion portion of that plea agreement?
Oh no, Your Honor, we've never seen anything like this before.
Okay, denied. | |
And they were supposed to go back.
Now there's there's gonna be a renewal.
Uh, but then there was conflicting information.
The IRS whistleblowers said that David Weiss was complaining that he did not have the authority to go into other jurisdictions to investigate Hunter Biden, California, DC among them.
And uh the Attorney General testified before Congress to such.
So it raises the question, why well why did why did the attorney general then make this guy that flopped and flailed and came up with wanted to give a pass of for a friend of Bo Biden Hunter's brother who passed away and other f friendly family members uh in in the office where this guy Weiss works.
I mean, he becomes the special counsel, so when you bring in America Garland and you bring in David Weiss, and you say, Well, the whistleblowers say that he didn't he was complaining he didn't have the authority to and the to go into these other jurisdictions.
Oh, we can't uh uh comment on an ongoing investigation.
Shouldn't have been ongoing after five years.
Now the National Archives won't release thousands of emails, five thousand four hundred of them, where Biden is using these various pseudonyms and quote, until they get permission from Mr. Biden and President Obama, according to the House Oversight Committee.
You've got to be kidding me.
Okay, so I guess we'll have to start holding National Archives and Record Administration officials in contempt of Congress.
Then, you know, it it's it's really unbelievable here.
Um, because Jim Jordan's committee was just told by the DOJ, the Joe Biden DOJ, um, that it would not cooperate with the subpoenas of two FBI agents involved in the department's investigation into Hunter Biden.
We remember we have the FBI whistleblower.
I mean, could they be any more uncooperative?
Unbelievable. | |
I mean, and you're gonna argue with me, some of you on the left, that we don't have a dual justice system.
You really think we have equal justice under the law, equal application of our laws?
I don't think we do. | |
By the way, Joe Biden, seventy-seven percent of Americans say that he's too old to serve another term.
A new book that is expected for release, say that privately Biden is admitting he feels tired.
Okay, that's stating the obvious.
And uh anyways, advanced years were a hindrance depriving him of the energy to cast a robust public presence or the ability to easily conjure a name.
