Sean Hannity is the new Sean Hannity show.
More behind the scenes information on breaking news and more bold inspired solutions for America.
At our two Sean Hannity show, we're in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, our town hall tonight with President Donald J. Trump on Hannity 9 Eastern.
Hope you set your DVR.
It's not the new time, it's actually the same time.
Uh, but with the new lineup.
Anyway, uh 800-941 Sean, our number, if you want to be a part of the program.
The president will respond publicly tonight.
He put out the big statement we talked about in the last hour about him getting this target letter earlier in the day from the special counsel, Jack Smith.
Uh I was having uh on Sunday night while I was with my family, having just arrived from the turning point event in Florida where I won the straw poll against other Republican candidates with 85.7%, with all polls showing me leading the Republican primary by a very substantial numbers.
Uh almost everyone predicting I will be the Republican nominee for president.
And as I am leading Democrat Joe Biden in the polls by a lot, horrifying news for our country was given to me by my attorneys.
He said the special prosecutor deranged Jack Smith, the prosecutor with Joe Biden's DOJ sent a letter again.
It was Sunday night, stating that I am a target of the January 6th grand jury investigation and giving me a very short four days to report to the grand jury, which almost always means an arrest and an indictment.
And he goes on from there.
So now Joe Biden's attorney general, Merrick Garland, who I turned down for the U.S. Supreme Court in retrospect based on his corrupt and unethical actions, a very wise decision, together with Joe Biden's Department of Injustice, have effectively issued a third indictment and arrest of Joe Biden's number one political opponent who is largely dominating in the race for the presidency.
Anyway, here to weigh in on this and so much more.
I I think she's one of the best writers in the country, the Wall Street Journal and elsewhere, great columnist, brilliant mind, uh, has her new book out, The Biden Malays, How America Bounces Back from Joe Biden's dismal repeat of the Jimmy Carter years, Kimberly Strassel.
How are you?
I am great.
It is so great to be here, Sean.
Thank you for all of that.
Let's get your reaction.
I mean, you you follow the news as closely as we do, and this target letter today.
This will be indictment number three.
Yep, it looks like that's what's coming.
The clearest sign yet.
And you know, this is just problematic on so many levels, Sean.
Um the first one, I mean, never before indictment of a former president, uh basically on a document dispute.
Um now here we're gonna apparently be moving forward with some sort of indictment on January 6th, despite the fact that you know, whatever anyone might have thought of that day, there's no evidence that crimes were committed.
Um and uh, you know, and even the Senate said that when we went through that second impeachment trial.
So what this does is it really fuels the narrative uh out there that, especially in light of the the double standard that you are seeing with how the Hunter Biden case was handled, that the Department of Justice is gunning For uh the the former president of one of the leading parties.
Well, I mean, you've got you got the leader in every poll.
You look at the real clear politics average, it's it's 35 points, Kimberly.
That is a massive lead.
Um every time this has happened in the past, uh, Donald Trump's poll numbers, I would assume counterintuitive to what maybe politically we would think would happen, his poll numbers go up and they go up dramatically.
And and then we have this whole other issue that is is right in front of us, and that is a dual system of justice.
I go back to 2016, Hillary Clinton.
No, no prosecutor would prosecute, you know, top secret classified information on her servers, uh, more than actually what they found at Mar-a-Lago, interestingly enough.
Uh, then of course the subpoenaed emails, 33,000 of them deleted, then the devices destroyed.
I don't know where I grew up, subpoenaed emails and servers and and hard drives destroyed, that would be uh called obstruction.
Uh then of course we now learn from the Durham report.
They couldn't corroborate the FBI couldn't corroborate one single thing that Christopher Steele put together, Hillary Clinton bought and paid that for the dossier.
Um they couldn't corroborate any of it, but and the FBI in early October 2016, they offer Christopher Steele a million plus dollars if he could corroborate it.
He can't get paid because he can't corroborate.
And then they use that as the information, the bulk of information, to get not one, what became four Pfizer warrants, in part backdoor spying on and then candidate and President Donald J. Trump.
What happened to all those people?
Nothing.
Then we know about the 2020.
You know, move forward to 2020.
What do we have?
That election.
They FBI has the laptop in December of 2019.
They verify its authenticity in March of 20 uh 20.
Uh, but yet FBI officials in the months leading up to the 2020 election are warning big tech companies on a weekly basis with these meetings that they may be victims of a misinformation campaign, and it may be about Joe and Hunter Biden.
Uh that sounds to me uh like they're trying to put their cinder blocks on the scale of an election.
Yeah, and then you know, look too uh what we're finding out of how the they've handled the Hunter Biden investigation internally.
We now have this new FBI agent uh who is uh testified in front of Congress saying corroborating what the other whistleblowers have said, in particular noting that you know they had spent FBI and IRS investigators that spent months gearing up for this day of action where they were gonna go and surprise all these people on Hunter Biden's orbit.
This is how you do it when you're investigating.
You don't give them a heads up because you want to catch them, uh, get them to talk to you without lawyering up, etc.
And instead, FBI headquarters tipped off Hunter Biden's team.
Uh they believe that that allowed him to tell everybody else, and whistleblowers noted that in the end they only got one substantive issue out of that entire uh interview out of that entire day.
Um and and and yet we turn around and now, I mean, it looks like Jack Smith is going to extraordinary efforts uh to to bring a case here uh in a much more politically fraught situation um where there's even less tenuous reason to do so.
I mean, ten more tenuous reasons to do so.
All right, so in this case, the FBI whistleblower says that top bureau officials, now this by the way, this is a supervisory uh special agent here, somebody that had a uh leadership role in the FBI, just retired, who made the allegation that top Biden officials sabotage the plans to interview Hyde Hunter Biden um and said in December of 2020,
higher-ups at the FBI tipped off the Secret Service a day before they were scheduled to interview Hunter, and word came down to put off the interview, according to the agent telling James Comer's House Oversight and Accountability Committee.
And as a result, the change in plans, the IRS, the FBI criminal investigators never got to interview Hunter Biden.
I mean, are you kidding me?
I mean, could you imagine if this was Trump?
Could you imagine if there was cocaine in it in the Trump White House?
Could you imagine if you had six IRS whistleblowers that that said that they stonewalled uh what was a slam dunk case, and then the prosecutor, David Weiss's own office recommended felony indictments against Hunter, But it was stopped.
So I I I don't know what to tell Americans anymore about our Constitution, these principles of equal justice and application of our laws anymore, because I don't think we have it.
Or what to tell them about the things that our most senior officials say, which proved to be patently false or incorrect.
Look, if these whistleblowers are telling the truth, um, it means that Weiss, as you said, was going to bring these felony charges, and he was blocked by the attorney in DC, the U.S. attorney in DC, and the U.S. attorney in Central California, uh, because they wouldn't bring charges side by side with him.
You know, that happened, and yet Merrick Garland, attorney general Merrick Garland, looks at the country and says, There's no politics involved in the Hunter probe.
Really?
Those attorneys were both appointed by Joe Biden, and they won't bring charges that another attorney wants against the president's son.
Unbelievable.
Um, you talk a lot and and compare in your book, The Biden Malays, how America bounces back from Joe Biden's dismal repeat of the Jimmy Carter years.
It is amazing, isn't it?
How history repeats itself and America, you know, seems to deviate, get off course, have this flirtation, if you will, with socialism, and then and then you know, the rubber band has in the past snap back and common sense prevails.
Um I'm a little worried it's gonna be a little harder this time.
And um I'm concerned about the future of this country, if God forbid this guy got a second term.
Uh I just I don't even think he knows that today is Tuesday, to be honest.
So uh but you look at it, the similarities are all there, aren't they, in terms of the radicalism, the you know, put your put your thermostat down to 68 and put on a sweater.
Uh America was once lectured by Jimmy Carter.
Yeah, it's so outwardly striking.
It's amazing.
I mean, you look at inflation, you look at energy prices, you look at the forum policy fiascos, you look at the the crime rates in both times.
You look at a lot of people don't know this immigration.
Uh, you know, the only two presidents who have had runs on the border, Joe Biden and Jimmy Carter with the Mariel boat lift out of Cuba, which was devastating for Southern Florida at the time, and one of the biggest mass illegal immigration events we'd ever witnessed in the country.
Um, and yeah, you know, Sean, one of the the points that the Biden malays this book tries to make is that all of this is unfair to Jimmy Carter, because you know he was dealt a harder hand in that we already had the great inflation around the globe.
We'd had an oil shock, so he started from a a harder place.
Now he made everything infinitely worse.
But that's my point is why it's not fair to Jimmy Carter.
Joe Biden inherited uh an incredible economy that was coming back after COVID.
He inherited a country that had for the first time become a net exporter uh of oil uh and an energy leader.
He inherited a country that had low crime, he inherited a country that had low inflation, and he single-handedly wrecked all of that with the policies that he took.
So he takes far more blame for these two scenarios.
And I agree with you.
I I worry which worry much more about us coming back from this because you know, Jimmy Carter, he he he at least sometimes when he messed up, tried to correct this president has made no correction because there's an agenda here driven by the left, and they don't really care what the consequences are as long as they get uh European style welfare state.
All right, quick break more with Kim Strassel, who's with us, Wall Street Journal, terrific writer reporter, uh her new book, The Biden Malays, how America uh bounces back from Joe Biden's dismal repeat of the Jimmy Carter years.
Also a lot more on our top story, and that is, of course, the target letter that Donald Trump uh got on, I believe was what, Sunday night, and uh and we are in Cedar Rapids and we have a town hall of President Trump tonight.

Jobs.
Joe Biden can't spell it, and he can't keep them for the American people.
Check out the Sean Hannity Jobs Forum today.
Now, Hennity's on coast to coast.
All right, 25 to the top of the hour in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Great to be back in Iowa.
The people here are so nice.
Amazing people.
We had so much fun with them.
Uh when I got out of the car, people have been people slept overnight to come to tonight's show.
Anyway, you can watch it.
Obviously, the big news of the day is that he received a target letter as it relates to grand jury investigation into January 6th, which is pretty much a hundred percent certain that he's going to be indicted, arrested yet again.
Um by the way, did anyone ever find where or where is what's that guy's name?
Her, Robert Herr.
The did any of you listening to my voice even know who that person is?
Yeah, that would be the special counsel that was appointed to look into the Biden classified document scandal.
We never hear about this guy.
Not a word.
Let's see, they had classified documents next to that old stingray Corvette in the garage at his home.
Uh, then they had him at the Penn Biden Center, then they had him at the University of Delaware, then they had him at the beautiful beach home that he was able to afford on a senator's salary in Rehobit, Delaware.
Uh, but not a peep out of him.
Anyway, we'll get to your calls here and the oh, the crazy ladies of the view reaction.
It was uh a little comical in some ways.
Listen, one way you can save money in these tough economic times and not sacrifice service is make the switch, join the stampede of us to my cell phone company, a veteran-owned company called Pure Talk.
And I even have even better news uh today about Pure Talk, and that is if you are a current Pure Talk customer or you're going to want to join uh Pure Talk and make the switch, Pure Talk just added to every single plan they have.
They've included more data and mobile hotspot.
Absolutely free.
No price increase at all whatsoever.
Now, the other beauty of Pure Talk is they use the same cell towers, the same 5G network as all the big carriers, ATT, Verizon T Mobile.
So uh you're gonna get the same coverage, the average family saving close to a thousand dollars a year, many saving more.
And right now they have a special going on for $20 a month.
You get unlimited talk, unlimited text, and 50% more 5G data plus mobile hotspot.
20 bucks a month for your cell phone.
Now, any of the big carriers offering that?
Nope.
You're gonna love this company.
Anyway, make the switch now.
Takes just a couple of minutes.
Dial pound 250 on your cell, say the keywords save now to make the switch.
Pound 250, keywords save now, make the switch, money in your pocket for the same service.
That's just smart.
Anyway, um, so over at that hard-hitting news show, the viewed today, there was celebrating Donald Trump receiving his target letter from Special Counsel Jack Smith regarding January 6th.
Listen.
This appears to be the culmination of it.
Uh I expect uh Donald Trump to be indicted in the near future.
Again.
Again.
I mean, you could clap that, sure.
Thank you.
It's almost like a weekly TV show.
Yeah.
Indictment.
Yeah, indicted in Dujour.
He was so upset that it was Sunday night while he's home reading his upside down Bible.
They're busy bothering him on a Sunday night.
How dare they?
He's so religious.
He's so oh, it's pathetic.
The worst thing for a uh a defendant or a prospective defendant is to get that target letter.
You either want to cooperate, or you want to be turn, you know, state's evidence and and and and testify in front of the grand jury, or you're the target.
And so at this point, because he's the target, the likelihood of indictment is about a hundred percent.
Um and and I just yeah, now I have a little clapping over there.
Yeah, it's it's and I and and I only know this because I've I've sent these these target letters.
Okay, because I've sent these targets letters.
Then, you know, our friend Whoopi Goldberg, I I actually like Whoopi.
I defend Whoopi.
I think she's got a good heart.
I don't think politics is her strong wheelhouse.
Um, and Trump should be in jail over the classified documents case.
You know the the young person that uh the young man they got for espionage recently.
Yeah.
He's do you know that he's demanding to be treated exactly the same way as Trump was.
He wants to be, yes, he wants to be able to go home.
Yeah, and do everything.
And that's the thing for me that is most egregious.
Nobody goes home.
And no one should be above the law.
Nobody, nobody is above the law.
You should not be walking around.
You should actually be in the building.
Right.
That has the bars on it.
Both of you.
Well, because you're you took, you took documents and gave them to other people.
They don't let folks walk around, but suddenly now we have that exception to the rule, and this is the dangerous part of it.
Well, I think there should be no exception.
I think the reason there's Okay, no exceptions.
Uh Hillary Clinton should be in jail behind bars.
Joe Biden should be in jail behind bars.
Okay, but that's gonna be the standard.
Tell me what the difference is.
Somebody is anyone ever go on that show, except for Tim Scott recently and challenge the ladies of the view.
They treated him like crap, too.
Not for nothing.
I mean, and no, well, they tried to, but let me tell you something.
He went in prepared.
He did.
He definitely put them in their place.
I mean, obviously.
You know, I'm sure he had some help and uh had had watched some other people that may have been on that show.
And that's unbelievable.
Uh all right, let's get to our busy uh phones.
Uh well, you know what?
We're in Iowa, we're in Cedar Rapids.
Don is in Iowa.
Don, how are you?
Glad you called, sir.
Hi, Sean.
Thank you for taking my call.
Great show so far, and I appreciate you being in Cedar Rapids with us.
By the way, are you coming to the event tonight?
I wish I could.
I'm in North Dakota.
You can hear uh construction in the background.
I'm unloading some of the there is no excuse the fact that you have to put food on your table, pay your mortgage, pay your car payment, and send your kids to school.
That's no excuse for not being here.
I know, Sean.
I'm so sorry.
I'm teasing.
What's on your mind?
Of course you are.
Um, I I thought of an important topic to bring up for the president tonight.
Okay.
Which is the uh rare earth minerals.
We've got uh a problem with China right now with rare earth minerals.
We have been letting them mine rare earth minerals in the United States since Bill Clinton signed over a mine in the 90s to them that uh like a million acres in Utah, and China was allowed to mine it.
I assume it was probably a similar proposition they gave uh Hillary gave to the Russians for mining, you know, taking our uranium.
You know, go ahead and take all you want.
And uh now you know, now we find ourselves in a shortage of it.
Back in the 80s, we had an A. C. Delco factory in Indiana.
They allowed it to be sold to China.
China took it and moved the whole plant over to China.
Uh, we're just giving this stuff away.
Well, I gotta tell you, Right now, I think America's making a lot of horrible decisions.
Open borders, a really bad decision.
Defunding the police, a really bad decision.
Abandoning energy independence, a really bad decision.
Abdicating America's role on the world stage as the world's sole superpower.
That void now being filled by an unholy axis of evil of China, Russia, and Iran scares the hell out of me.
It should scare everybody.
These are really unprecedented times.
And you know, I I planned on coming here today in Cedar Rapids with the idea that you know what?
He's already done that interview on January 6th on twent the 2020 election.
I came here with a very different agenda.
I came here.
You know what?
I want to talk about the American people that are suffering.
The people that I have always referred to as the forgotten men and women.
In other words, the the root the people that really make this country great.
You know, the nurses, the doctors, uh the the orderlies, uh, the construction workers, the plumbers, the electricians, the carpenters, you know, people, whatever their field of endeavor is, and they get up every day and they work their asses off,
they put in their 14, 15 hours a day, they they raise their kids, they pay their taxes, they obey the laws, and you know, they're just getting squeezed left, right, and sideways, and the country is being run into the ground by by these radical extremists that have taken over.
And you know, I I I wish I could say today, you know, it's what, July 18th, and I wish I could say on this day that I'm confident that in November of 2024 that the country's gonna get back on track.
I can't say that with any degree of confidence.
Well, Sean, the the Democrats need to be uh aware that the American people know that they keep indicting the president because they fear the president, because they know how much corruption has been going on for years.
Now, I won't be there tonight.
My friend Matt will be there.
So if you see Matt, tell him hello.
He's from Cedar Rapids, and he's a truck salesman.
He told me my new international.
Well, tell him they get here early because there's a pretty big crowd out there now.
And um he's camping out.
I know a lot of people camped out.
I was shocked.
I'm excited about it.
I mean, I'm glad people are jazzed to be here, and and I'm happy to be here.
You know what's great about it?
By the way, I'd love to live in Iowa over New York any day of the week.
It's any day.
It's the one place where when you see people camped out, they're not doing drugs.
They're here to see a president, they're here to engage.
That's a good point.
If they're doing there's no heroin.
The worst thing they're probably doing, maybe, maybe they're having an adult beverage.
All right, quick break, right back.
More of your phone calls coming up.
800-941 Sean as we continue.
We are in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Our town hall with President Donald J. Trump is tonight, nine Eastern.
Please, by the way, when you say your DVR, set it forever.
So it's every night you set your DVR, and then you never miss an episode.
It's that simple, and you can watch it at your leisure.
Um, anyway, that'll be on tonight at nine, especially in light of today's news that a target letter was sent to President Trump regarding January 6th.
Uh, we'll get the president's first verbal reaction and and video reaction to all of that.
Nine Eastern, Hannity, Fox News, see you tonight.
Quick break, right back, and more of the news of the day.
And why did Donald Trump's poll numbers go up every time he gets attacked?
We'll check in with our poster straight ahead.
All right, from Cedar Rapids, Iowa, where we have our town hall with President Trump tonight.
Let's get back to our busy phones.
Uh, all right, let's go to uh Danny's out in uh the liberal socialist communist bastion known as California.
What's up, Danny?
How are you?
Hey, Sean, how are you?
I'm good, buddy.
What's going on?
I'm in the best part of California.
You got to remember that.
The northern part.
That's the only part that matters.
Okay, the northern part meaning the Oregon border.
What's what's that?
I'd like for you to come and visit us.
Well, are you talking about California Redwoodland and the border near Oregon or are you talking about San Francisco?
No.
And Oakland.
I've been to Reading, California.
I have.
I've actually driven the entire Pacific Coast Highway in my life.
Beautiful, beautiful drive.
Yes, it is.
Yes, it is.
And our lakes are full right now.
Well, good.
Don't let uh the the Saudis get it like they're taking it out of uh Arizona.
I couldn't believe that story yesterday.
Anyway, what else is on your mind?
Water don't go elsewhere.
Yeah, exactly.
That's it.
Well, I mean, I was in the San Joaquin Valley and I did a show once, and it was about how farmers couldn't farm anymore in the San Joaquin Valley because they the extreme radical environmentalists wanted to protect a little minnow fish.
It was like a minnow.
You know, I know because I use minnow fish, you know, to go out and throw a light out occasionally and try and catch some fish.
I don't not like my buddy Keith that catches everything.
I catch next to nothing.
And anyway, I sit out there, cup, you know, I'll just keep throwing them out.
And when I cast, they usually fall off the hook.
I bring it right back in and do it again.
But anyway, it's called the Delta Smelt.
Remember that controversy?
Yep, yep, I do.
Yeah, they were protecting a non-endangered species minnow, Delta Smelt Fish over the farmers.
Another lie.
Yeah.
Crazy.
Is that uh I want somebody that is a drug professional to look at Fourth of July balcony video of the Bidens.
And I'm I I would be a hundred percent confident that the daughter and the son were higher than a kite that night.
Just by the way of their body reactions to certain things that the family did.
I don't know, and I'm not gonna say.
Now, it would be perfectly logical to believe that people that had drug problems would be potential suspects if they have access to the entire White House.
And originally this was the situation room or outside the situation room.
They gave us three different locations where the cocaine was found.
Now, somebody used to be a crackhead, and we have pictures of that individual sleeping with a crack pipe in their mouth uh and pictures of that individual with no teeth because they have cracked teeth.
What do you call crack mouth?
I think is how the official phrase of it, and needed new teeth put in because they were destroyed by the drug use.
Uh that means that's severe addiction.
Uh, they would be a suspect.
But in 10 days without interviewing one single person, they closed down this investigation.
If it was Donald Trump, he would have gotten a target letter today.
Yep.
Would have been him.
They would have blamed him.
And by the way, the guy that doesn't even drink an ounce of alcohol.
He never he's never had a drink in his life.
Which by the way, if I was him and I was living through all this crap, I'd be drinking.
No, if you don't, if you don't drink and smoke, you don't want to start because it's a bad habit.
And it's expensive habit.
Okay, it sounds like you're guilty of both.
The way you speak so well professionally about it.
I've quit both in my years.
I was I was pretty radical.
But as I I've aged, I've mellowed out and seen the light.
And only God and Trump can fix this.
Only God and Trump.
Well, God bless America then, because this is these are tough times for this country, I'll tell you that.
