Hour two, Sean Hannity show toll-free.
It's 800-941 Sean, if you want to be a part of the program.
I mean, some of the comments uh of some people on the left, uh uh, they're mind-numbing to me.
You know, one of the geniuses out there is uh Anna Navarro.
China loves that the GOP turned the Chinese balloon situation into a big drama.
This is what she said.
He knows when he's not the biggest expert when he has he's not the one that knows the most about a particular subject matter.
Well, so Marco Rubio says if we send a balloon to China, uh Beijing, I guarantee you would shoot it down.
I think this was about China sending a message, right?
And that is that is a serious issue because I think they are establishing themselves, have established themselves as now a major world power, and they want to show their strength.
Um you think they wanted to show Biden's weakness as well?
Yeah, what look, they love this.
They love that Republicans turned this into this big drama that you know that there's senators and people shooting guns and person.
But this is this is about, you know, exercises in a exercises in the South China Seas.
This is uh satellites all over the place.
This is they wanted this thing to be spotted.
If you're going to spy, you're not going to send a giant balloon all across the United States for a week, right?
I I mean Chinese know how to spy.
They uh you know they can do it better.
They wanted to create a crisis, a national crisis, an international crisis.
They wanted it to be elevated and it can be visible and be talked about, and they got it.
And I agree with you.
Well, it should be a big deal, and it is a big deal, and the fact that it was allowed to continue day after day after day after day, and they did nothing the whole time is is incomprehensible to me.
Anyway, joining us now, Gordon Chang is with us, author of the coming collapse of China and the Great US China Tech War.
Uh Gordon, welcome back to the program.
How are you, sir?
I'm fine, Sean.
Thank you so much.
Well, I see this very differently than Anna Navarro.
I see it as a moment where it's the American people better wake up to the fact that they are our number one geopolitical threat.
They better wake up to the fact that they're buying our farmland, our ranch land, land near military installations.
Uh they better wake up and understand that Joe Biden selling our strategic petroleum reserves to the communist Chinese.
That would be insane.
They better wake up to the fact that these these governors all around the country have picked up on something that I would imagine is likely right, and that TikTok it can be used as some kind of spy operation.
And they better pick up that uh we better deal with the Chinese in a more uh adversarial uh way because they have chosen that path, not us.
You're absolutely right.
I couldn't agree with you more.
And the other thing to add is that this balloon incident indicates that the problems with China are not like next year or the year after that.
They are right now.
Because obviously something is wrong in the Chinese regime.
It's become much more belligerent.
We don't know exactly why, but none of the explanations are good.
For instance, it this could have been a an intimidation move on the part of the Chinese to show the rest of the world that we're incapable, or it could have been the Chinese military freelancing on their own.
Or it could very well be um that people wanted to derail um cooperative relations with the US.
But whatever it is, Sean, um, it means we could be very much in a war with China very soon.
You're talking about a Cold War, or you're talking about a real military conflict.
I'm talking about a real military conflict because at the moment China thinks it's at a war with us, but it's that unrestricted warfare, fentanyl, uh, intellectual property theft, all the rest of it.
But I was talking about a kinetic war, as it's called, largely because the Chinese military right now um looks like it's slipped the leash, and we've got to be very concerned that we are going to be in battle with the Chinese.
Look, Sean, we know in general, China is mobilizing for war.
Not only mobilizing its military, but also its civilians.
It's trying to sanction proof the regime because it knows what's coming down the road.
There are signs that this is going to be a war, and it could very well be soon.
And by the way, if we don't do anything to stop this, we will be in a war because the drift is that way.
It's up to Biden, it's up to the American people to try to stop China.
We can do it, but we can't do it if the administration continues on the current path.
So let's look at everything in one big picture here.
Um they're buying all our farmland, ranch land, they're buying land near military installations.
Um they're also, according to experts, I don't know much about TikTok, but they're telling us, and and states are banning TikTok because they believe it has a spy element to it.
And then, of course, we have COVID, uh, then we have horrible trade deals, then we have a reliance on chips and and other, you know, manufacturing equipment vital to our economy, including uh life-saving medicines, for example.
Uh then we have the hostility of fentanyl, which you mentioned, and I think that's that's bad.
Uh a horrible, horrible intellectual uh property theft uh problem with the communist Chinese.
Uh yeah, they've become belligerent and aggressive, and clearly they don't fear Joe Biden, do they, or they never would have done this.
They don't fear Joe Biden.
And we know that from what they've been saying, because their propaganda since the beginning of the administration has been that the U.S. no longer deters China, and we can't talk to them from a position of strength.
That was Chinese words, China's words when they sent their top two diplomats to Anchorage to meet Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, as well as National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan.
Um this is something that they highlighted just after Biden was elected, but before he took office.
There was an academic, D. Dong Sheng, who gave a lecture, which was live streamed across China November 28, 2020, where the D. Dongshong said, look, China looks forward to Biden taking the oath of office because then we can tell the U.S. what to do again.
And D actually said that China couldn't do that during the four years of the Trump administration.
Um this is a real indication of Chinese mentality, and it means that that's going to push them to do something too far, which this Chinese spy balloon actually is an uh example of.
You suggested that maybe you have actors uh uh kind of going rogue against President Qi.
Uh, do you see that type of serious, significant real internal political strife in China right now?
That's a real possibility.
Um, yes, that the Chinese military feels it can do whatever it wants because it's been empowered by X Jinping.
Um I mean, the other possibility is that Xi Jinping told the military to do this.
One could also say that the military told Xi Jinping that they're gonna do it, and C decided not to stop them.
The one thing, Sean, is that the Chinese regime over the last four or five years has become less transparent.
So it's really opaque right now.
We're just guessing as to what's going on, but all of the possibilities are horrible.
China right now is extremely dangerous, and there's no sense of urgency in the Oval Office, and there's no sense of urgency at the top of the Pentagon, starting with Lloyd Austin and General Milley, uh Secretary of Defense and the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, respectively.
So although we're a far stronger society than China, China can take us By surprise, and China can defeat us because we're not defending ourselves.
But China's been building up, and we've called attention to this now for well over a decade.
They've been they've been massively building up their military capabilities for almost two decades now.
Uh have they surpassed us in terms of technology and military capability and readiness?
Well, certainly in readiness, um, because we're not ready for a lot of reasons.
Um, but also we know that China in certain areas has weapons that are better than ours.
So, for instance, their cruise missiles, which can take out our ships.
Um, in general, we're a stronger military for a number of reasons, but we've got critical vulnerabilities.
But the biggest vulnerability, Sean, is not weapon for weapon, really it is leadership.
And right now in the United States, we got a leadership that is not prepared, and we got a China that is getting ready for war.
And it's not just their military, they are mobilizing their civilians for war.
And that's an indication of all of society effort.
They've shown all of this uh all of their territorial ambitions with Taiwan and and talk so often about uh reunification, that's their term.
Obviously, it would not be reunification, but our number one ally, they've been very quick to be very aggressive and and lecturing us about visiting our own ally in Taiwan.
I believe seventy percent of those those precious chips that are needed for so much much of our technology, including our automobiles, comes from Taiwan.
Uh Kevin McCarthy is scheduled to make a visit when Nancy Pelosi made it.
I mean, there were there was talk about shooting her out of the sky for crying out loud, um, which is insane.
And yet they're flying over Taiwan airspace every day.
They haven't made the move yet.
Why haven't they?
And do you think they will soon?
Yeah, I can't judge intentions, but I can say that they are preparing to take Taiwan through force because Xi Jinping has made it a test of his personal legitimacy that they do so.
And they actually think the United States won't come to Taiwan's rescue.
And they're very clear about that.
We don't have to guess because they actually say that in their propaganda.
You know, I can you know I can talk to you for ages about reasons why they would and wouldn't.
But the point is we need to be prepared because they are preparing.
We should be matching their preparations.
If we do that, we can avoid war.
If we don't do that, the Chinese will think that they can get away with it.
They will try something, it will end up in conflict, and that means you have conflict at both ends of the Eurasian landmass.
Ukraine one end, Taiwan at the other.
So we have our number one and number two geopolitical threats uh in conflict, and what our only answer is to supply weaponry, but we won't go as far as to give Zel Zelensky the okay for Poland and Germany to give fighter jets.
That's insane, because the best way to deter Xi Jinping is to defeat Vladimir Putin.
There is uh, according to rumors, a vice foreign minister of China in Moscow right now, talking about Xi Jinping's anticipated visit to the Russian capital.
And February 24th, the one-year anniversary of the invasion is coming up.
There are suggestions, and this is just rumor, but there are suggestions that Xi Jinping will be there at or around that time to announce a um enhanced relationship with Russia.
Remember, on February 4th of last year, China and Russia announced their no limits partnership.
That was 20 days before the invasion.
We're going to see something similar, I think, in the not too distant future, sometime this month.
Quick break, we'll come right back.
We'll continue toll-free.
It's 800-941 Sean, if you want to be a part of the program more with Gordon Shang on the other side than your calls coming up.

All right, we'll get to your phone calls here in a minute.
800-941-SHAWN, our number if you want to be a part of the program.
But first we continue with uh Gordon Chang, who's with us, author of the coming collapse of China and the Great US China Tech War.
Do you believe that explain the thinking behind this balloon?
You know, they knew it was probably going to be identified.
They clearly controlled it.
We had the best opportunity to take it out when they first identified it over Alaska.
They didn't do so, then through Canada, then into Idaho, then across Montana, right over our ICBM missile sites.
Um what's going on here?
A couple things.
First of all, they're gathering valuable intelligence that they can't get from satellites or other means.
And so Enna Navarra needs to go to school on um spy operations.
But the second thing, there are a number of different explanations as to why they did this.
Um, and we don't know what the answer is, and we may not know for quite some time, but the options are this is an intimidation move, to tell the world that the U.S. is incapable of defending its own airspace, so as to tell the rest of the world that they've got to leave the U.S. and work with China.
That's one possibility.
Second possibility is the Chinese military, which is very strong politically inside the Communist Party, just says we're gonna do this.
And we don't care what it has effect on our relations with uh the United States.
And the third possibility is that there are some elements in the Chinese regime that wanted to derail Secretary of State Anthony Blinken's anticipated trip to Beijing, which was scheduled for the fifth or the sixth.
So, you know, at this particular time, I can't tell you which of those options are uh I can give you a guess, but um any of those options could be true.
But the point is none of these options are good.
All of these options point to an extremely dangerous China that probably wants to go to war with the United States, and that means they're thinking that they can take us.
And because we're stronger, they're not thinking that we're gonna defend ourselves.
That's but I can't, but this can't be any type of conventional war.
Do you I mean I I've got to believe that it's gonna be technology versus technology.
Who has the superior technology?
Yes, and it also may not stay conventional.
Um, we um, you know, we sort of think, well, you know, wars will stay, you know, just conventional, but the Chinese have actually been threatening to use their nuclear weapons against the United States, Against Japan, against Australia, against the rest of the world.
They ramped up their threats to use their nukes after Putin started making his new threats with regard to Ukraine early last year.
So these regimes are learning from each other.
And when one makes a threat, the others make threats.
So you had, for instance, North Korea about six or seven months ago, for the first time threatened to use their nuclear weapons preemptively.
We had never heard that from North Korea before.
But they did that because they heard the Russians talk about preemptively using their tactical nuclear weapons.
So this is getting very, very dangerous because these regimes are getting uh courage from each other.
False courage, but courage less.
It's what you're describing as a doomsday almost like scenario.
It's pretty uh chilling.
Uh we appreciate you being with us, Gordon Chang.
Thank you.
800-941 Sean is our number if you want to be a part of the program.
We'll continue.
The one thing you can always count on.
Sean Hannity is back on the radio.
All right, 25 to the top of the hour.

All right, let's get to our busy phones.
Warren is in Idaho.
Did you see the big beautiful balloon flying above your state?
You know, Sean, I wish I could have seen it.
We did see the pictures coming from Montana for sure.
But just knowing it was close to us is quite interesting.
Uh it's a little a little more than interesting to me.
It's a little chilling to me.
It's a little on another side of this, it's embarrassing, I think, to the entire country.
We're the United States of America, they say they knew this thing was flying over Alaska long before it got to your state of Idaho, long before it got to Montana, long before it made its way to North Carolina, and then off the coast of North Carolina and getting shot down, and they didn't do a thing.
And you know, they could tell us all they want.
We have the capability of jamming, disabling uh uh what do they know?
How do they possibly know what technology, maybe new technology might have been in that, you know, Chinese balloon?
Well, exactly, and like you've been saying, the Biden family regime is so compromised that they probably got a call and said, Don't shoot that down, that's ours.
And I listened to the ACLJ last week and Rick Rennell, they said they had the capabilities to take it down without destroying it.
So why did they not find out what weather balloons carry pieces that are the size of a couple of school buses?
Uh, I think you're you're raising phenomenal questions, and I think Rick Gornell is right.
That was my first option, if you were listening on Friday, is to go up there, get the balloon and take it down.
And I I don't see how something sixty thousand feet in the air, if we can send a people to the moon and they can land and they can walk around and fly back home.
I would think uh you can grab a balloon that's sixty, sixty-five thousand, you know, at sixty, sixty-five thousand feet and take it back home to Earth.
I think we should be capable of that.
Absolutely.
Or even if it's if it's up there, we would have the capability of rerouting it.
If it's not blown, if it's being blown by the wind, why wouldn't we not be able to reroute it?
I think It's a trial run for maybe an EMP attack, and Biden and them would let it right in.
I mentioned that earlier.
It's uh it's pretty scary to me.
That is a real possibility, and you better consider that if you know the electromagnetic, you know, attack is what you're talking about, and that would knock out you know pretty much all of the country's communication abilities and God only knows what else.
Yeah, you know, but the know where the ICBS stations are now over there.
Yeah, good point.
Uh all right, my friend.
Thank you for being there.
Great observations.
Uh let's say hi to Matt, North Carolina.
Matt, how are you?
How are you, Sean?
Glad to speak with you.
Thank great to speak with you.
Did you watch the beautiful balloon get shot at uh down in your state?
Well, I watched it go over my house, so did you take a slingshot, at least give a shot at it?
Uh no, I know the altitude's a little bit too much for that.
But thoughts on this, and uh uh largely this is due to I worked and lived in and out of China for eight years.
And I'm very familiar with the way they think, how they see us, uh, you know, uh from a lot of different perspectives.
Uh in my opinion, I think what this was was essentially two things.
I think it was an intentionful uh intentional incursion, uh, number one, and secondly, that it was you know, a test run to see where they could go with this, how they could guide this, whether it would go where they wanted to go.
Uh this is preemptively, I think, due to the fact that the payloads that these can carry are virtually unlimited.
Uh it could be a bioweapon payload underneath, it could be a bioweapon that's within the balloon itself, hoping that they would shoot it down and then thereby spread the bioweapon.
Uh EMP as you mentioned before, or explosives.
Any of those are possibilities for future purposes.
The fact that they didn't shoot it down over the Aleutian Islands in Alaska is unbelievable when we know we had that capability, but I think their first and very most priority should have been in the fact of bringing it down safely so that they could completely disumbling and examine it.
Well, I'm hoping they can recover it first of all.
Uh I have faith that hopefully they'll get some of it, if not all of it.
And then maybe that'll put to rest this this nonsense that people are saying this was oh, this was probably not used for nefarious purposes.
And when I hear that, I'm thinking, you people are so dumb, so naive, and and if you're right, it's just a lucky guess.
The communist Chinese have made it very, very clear that they are not our friends.
You know what?
Because if they were our friends, they wouldn't be pushing their fentanyl to the southern border uh in the massive quantities that they're pushing it down there.
If they were really our friends, they would have given the world a heads up uh on COVID, uh, especially when they shut down travel out of Wuhan to any other part of China, but they didn't shut down travel from Wuhan to the rest of the world.
That tells me that the communist Chinese knew that to protect their own country, but not the rest of the world.
And so that's frustrating too.
That was done deliberately.
I was in Wuhan, China when they released the first virus.
I was right down the street working, you know, from that lab.
And I know that it was done deliberately at that point.
And the funny thing I d that I thought was amusing was that they used the same excuse as the wet market the second time around as they did the first time around.
But this believe was done because they had to do something to disrupt the elections with Trump and add to that chaos that ensued after that.
I firmly believe that China thinks that they are going to go ahead and attack Taiwan, and I think that'll be before the end of 2024.
I wouldn't be surprised at any point that that happens.
I think they've been showing nothing but clear aggression, and they have been very aggressive in warning the United States to pull back from the our alliance with Taiwan, which I don't think we should do.
You can't allow any country to bully you.
But Hannity, they've got nuclear weapons.
Well, if if that's the answer that anybody that has nuclear weapons gets to get us to stand down and we don't remind them that we have the same threat back.
Now is it an ideal situation?
No, but it has a name, and it actually was successful during the Cold Wall war, and that's called mutually assured destruction.
And it served as a deterrent.
If you attack us, we will hit you back ten times harder.
And unfortunately, it's an evil world, and evil people seem to only understand one thing, and that's military strength when you're dealing with countries.
It's exactly true, but they want to continue to interfere with everything, and they want they're they're determined to take Taiwan.
That's been very, very clear for a number of years, just as Gordon Chang was stating.
Uh he knows this, he's uh I admire him tremendously.
He's uh a great brain on all this subject, far better than I am.
Uh, but I am familiar with them and how they think and and what they think and what their goals are, and their goal is to take Taiwan, and they're going to do that.
And I think that our response is, you know, if Biden is in in office in his administration, I think that that is a great, great, grave danger uh to us because I don't think that they will hardly step up to do anything.
I don't think Biden will lift a finger.
And I think we're far too dependent on China, and that is that is something we were beginning to resolve uh after COVID towards the end of the Trump administration, but we never fully got there.
The one thing Trump did get, never got a lot of credit for, was the fact that he was the single best negotiator and got the best trade deal that anybody had ever gotten in history with China.
And the reason it worked is he put real tariffs on the importation of Chinese goods, which worked, um, because they want our dollars.
Anyway, Matt, very informed call.
Appreciate it.
Glad you're out there.
Aaron in Colorado.
Aaron, you're next.
How are you?
Um how are you doing, Sean?
I'm good, sir.
Hope you had a good weekend.
Uh I did, but that was not a spy balloon.
That was just aerial photography of every Chinese property up there in the north into Dakotas and all the way up to sixteen hundred Pennsylvania Avenue.
So I think you're being a wise ass, but you're very funny.
Am I wrong?
I try.
Uh look, uh you know, the fact that so people uh some people are so quick to just dismiss this.
Oh, I I believe the communist Chinese, this was for meteorol meteorological reasons.
I'm like, what's that?
They were just taking pictures of the things they own in in the Dakotas, the property is sixteen hundred Pennsylvania Act own it.
They they they seem knowing a lot, don't they?
Yeah.
And it wouldn't I I think what has to come out of this, and everyone's gonna think it's political.
It's not about political, it's about national security to me.
Is I think we need a complete full disclosure from the Bidens.
And and maybe you can be classified uh for now.
And that would be any and all financial dealings that anyone in the Biden family has had, is involved in currently, or benefiting from financially in the past or present, or perhaps down the line in the future, as part of a a previous deal with the communist Chinese.
I want to know the extent of their business dealings with China.
And hopefully we'll get to the bottom of that with Jim Comer and the House Oversight Committee.
Um I think we have a right to know all of it.
Uh anyway, good call, Aaron.
God bless you, man.
Uh let's say how to Bill and New Joycey.
What's up, Bill of New Joysey?
How are you?
How you doing?
I'm from Jersey.
You from Jersey?
No, I'm not from Jersey.
How are you doing?
I know you're not.
Uh I'm doing good, but I'm actually from South Jersey, so I got a slight southern accent.
But uh, compared to North Jersey.
And what I was thinking is with the Cobalt mines and then all the other money they got for their institutions, if you add it up, that's over almost five billion dollars that the Bidens and Bidens have gotten from the Chinese for other people and themselves and kickbacks from it.
It's like as soon as he said don't shoot it down, they're waiting for the White House.
I knew damn well that that he is compromised by the Chinese.
I already knew it ahead of time because of what you have uncovered, because you're a hero as far as I'm concerned.
What's out there is because of you and people like you that are getting the truth out, you know, and it's funny, even with the um the the raid on Marilaga rate, they did that on purpose because they knew that that laptop was going to let out a bunch of Information about uh top secret stuff that Biden had all over the place, and they wanted to try to compare it.
And and I know that's true because right away they're lying and saying Trump had three Chinese balloons come over when he was president.
You know, it's it's you know it's like how dare you put a 20-year moratorium on cobalt in this country at the same time you're selling the most expensive cobalt uh mine in the world in Africa, you're getting it sold to the Chinese.
I mean, obviously bought and sold by him.
The guy is a traitor, he's a uh spy for the Chinese government.
When is somebody Well, I want I want to know if he's compromised.
Why why would any president who depleted our strategic petroleum reserves?
You answer this question.
Why would that president want to now?
Why would he be battling Republicans that want to prevent that from happening?
Why would you want to give the limited reserves we have that are meant for emergencies in this country?
Why would you want to sell those reserves to the communist Chinese?
Can you explain that?
Because that makes no sense to me.
I can explain it.
He is compromised out of that five plus billion dollars.
He's probably sitting on at least two and a half billion of it, and do what they want.
He doesn't have a choice because he is a spy for the Chinese government, bottom line.
Bottom up.
There's no way around it.
And I don't know if he's a spy.
I think he's compromised, and I think that makes a big, big difference.
Yeah, compromise, but at the same time, he's hurting our national security to benefit himself.
The crime family is bigger than any crime family financially that has probably ever existed.
Just the billions that he's been taking in with his family is like unbelievable.
And any time I get a quick pro quo from somebody, I'm gonna say I just did a Biden.
You know, now on, I'm gonna, you know, it's like some like the gas company does me a favor, gets a gas line to a house quicker than I expect.
I'm gonna say, well, I let 'em use the property to put some of their equipment here, so I did a Biden.
You know, that's gotta be a new narrative.
It's like anytime anybody does you a favor, you say, Well, I talked them into it, I did a Biden.
Well, let me tell you what, let me tell you what the media wants to focus on.
They want to focus on, believe it or not, Stormy Daniels again.
They want to they want to focus on another New York trial against Donald Trump on his on his finances.
They meanwhile you got the fentanyl problem, you've got horrible trade deals, you don't have answers on COVID.
You have uh unbelievable intellectual property theft.
Now we have spy balloons, and I'm convinced it was a spy balloon, you know, flying over our country, and they are belligerent, they are aggressive, and they have done nothing but but showed hostility towards us and our ally Taiwan and lecturing us about what our relationship with our allies should be like.
Um that doesn't sound like a a friendly nation to me.
And you see how they treat their own people.
You see the slave labor all throughout China.
You see the the treatment of the minority Uyghur community in China.
I'm telling you, this this is bad.
What's going on is not good.
Anyway, appreciate the call.

Now he promised his dad he would take care of his family, and his son, he would not grow up without a father.
So when his Humvee exploded in Afghanistan, he suffered burns, severe burns, over 80% of his body with only a fifteen percent chance of survival.
Uh Del Toro focused on the promises that he made to his own father, and later he became The first fully disabled airman that was permitted to re-enlist, and by the way, in a gold medal winner at the Invictus Games.
Now he shares his story to help others.
Thanks to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation and your generosity, Del Toro received a mortgage-free smart home.
