Time Text
This is an iHeart Podcast.
The MAGA Republicans are the most energized part of the Republican Party.
That extreme, this is an extreme threat to our democracy, to our freedom, to our rights.
Because I've been able to work with mainstream Republicans in my whole career, but the extreme MAGA Republicans in Congress have chosen to go backwards, full of anger, violence, hate, and division.
But together, we can and we must choose a different path.
Freedom is back in style.
Welcome to the revolution.
Yeah, we are coming to your city.
Going to play our guitars and say you will come to song.
Sean Hennedton, the new Sean Hennity Show.
More behind-the-scenes information on breaking news and more bold, inspired solutions for America.
This is a special edition of the Sean Hennity Show.
America Trapped Behind Enemy Lines.
Day number 388.
Coming up next, our final news roundup and information overload hour.
All right, news roundup, information overload hour, 800-941.
Sean, if you want to be a part of the program, many of you know life in terms of politics in this country is never going to be the same without the booming, powerful, enlightening, intellectual, patriotic voice of Rush Limbaugh.
And I've been connected to his family all throughout my entire radio and television career, as his brother David, as most of you, I think, know by now.
It has been my attorney on every contract I've ever done in radio or television.
And his niece, Rush's niece, and David's daughter both have, I can tell you, had a very profound impact on me in terms of growing my own personal faith, my own faith journey.
Both have taken their understanding of God, Jesus, the Bible to levels I probably can never reach if I stop full-time what I'm doing and studied every day.
David has written numerous best-selling books as it relates to faith and Jesus and religion.
And David has now collaborated with my personal assistant, Rush's niece, his daughter, Kristen Limbaugh.
And they've come out with a brand new book.
It's called The Resurrected Jesus, The Church in the New Testament.
And it's an honor for me to have them both in studio with us today.
David, you've been on many times.
Kristen, you've been on only like remotely.
Like we'll say your name and you're on a trip or whatever, right?
Waiting in the wings.
Waiting in the wings.
I've been behind the scenes a lot.
How big a role, and we'll get to the specifics of the book, has your father played.
And I must say up front that you dedicate this book to Uncle Rush and to your brother.
And it's a beautiful introduction to my brother, Kristen's uncle, Rush, whose entire life was inspiring to me.
So how did this grow on you?
Because every parent's dream would be that their kids want to find God in their life, especially with drugs and sex and alcohol and all the other trappings of the world.
Well, mom and dad always raised me growing up with a strong foundation of knowing Jesus.
My mom would always pray with us every night.
And dad, I like to call him the divine truth warrior.
He was always dedicated to helping me and my siblings understand that Jesus is the only way to everlasting life.
And actually before I went to college, dad knew that my faith would be challenged by professors, different peers.
And so he took me on dad-daughter dates once a week before I went to college and would just reiterate how important my faith was going to be, how staying in the word of God.
It's hard in college, especially when they have eggs and kegs, football parties, first thing when you wake up in the morning.
Exactly right.
And he helped me study the Bible and the arguments to help defend the faith.
And so I had that foundation.
I did have professors who tried to dismantle the Christian faith, but God had prepared me for that with my dad's tutelage.
And so I had that foundation.
And then really, I felt it was because of my parents' prayers over the years that God pursued me.
And so as I graduated from college, I really took my faith personally as my own.
I developed a deep relationship with Jesus.
And I've just been amazed at the ways that he's worked in my life in truly miraculous ways.
And to experience that on a personal level is what I believe that every person on earth needs to experience.
Now, you had written, David, Jesus on Trial, M.A.S. Codes, the true Jesus, Jesus is risen.
So the word apologetics is not a word I think most people would know.
And that is the deep study of the faith in defense of the faith.
Exactly.
That's what it is.
You just said it.
And you are, to me, probably the most knowledgeable person in my life that I know.
And this is reflected in the scholarship in your books.
Well, yeah, and I'm just a neophyte compared to people who really do this for a living.
You know, you've got my friend Frank Turek, Josh McDowell, Lee Strobel.
There are so many amazing intellects out there.
And they're my mentors.
And so, and I could name dozens, but those three and many more.
And they really make a career of going around and defending the faith.
And I've borrowed so much from them and learned so much from them.
And hopefully I reach a different audience.
I mean, you might say, well, why would you write these books?
You're a lawyer.
You're a layperson.
You don't have a degree in theology.
And that's true.
But I have a chance, I think, to reach people my Christian expert theologian, pastor friends may not be able to reach.
It's just a different audience.
Overlapping.
So you have this chance to have this collaboration with Kristen, who's still relatively young, and she just had her first baby, adorable.
And I think that would be every parent's goal or dream.
I will say this, my parents forcing me to go to church every week and then going to Catholic schools for 12 years, it got in.
Yeah, no doubt.
And, you know, it's Kristen took to it.
We've got five kids.
The other four will probably disappoint us deeply.
Wait for the grandkids, David.
You already have one.
I'm going to be in trouble.
I hope they don't listen to this interview.
No, they're all great.
But, you know, people take things differently and they all have different spiritual gifts and they get challenged in different ways and they react in different ways.
I take no credit for Kristen's development.
I'm very proud of her.
But to the extent that she's spirit-filled, you got to give the credit to God.
And that's not just a cliche and it's not something I'm just saying to Virtue Signal.
It's absolutely true.
You know, one of the things I could never argue the depth that you have in terms of biblical knowledge, but I can argue, and I like to argue on this program with atheists, not agnostics, atheists.
And so my argument to them will be simple.
It's like, so you believe all of this matter came and there was a big bang and boom, we've got universes within universes within universes.
And we got the sun and the sky and et cetera.
And all this majesty, I would say God's majesty, and you're telling me it just happened.
Where did the energy come from that created the bang?
Because you're basically arguing that something comes from nothing.
It's the opposite of apologetics because I'm not biblically based in my argument, but my own personal observations and faith show me that there is something greater than us that created all of that.
Absolutely, Dad.
You know, I so agree.
You're not going to let her talk because she's so well read on that.
No, no, but I, but I've always thought, you know, if you don't subscribe to every aspect of Darwinism, you're shunned in the culture.
And so it's politically incorrect and culturally incorrect for me to challenge it.
But I think Darwinism, so much of it is wrong as to macroevolution.
And none of them can explain.
And no atheist can explain, as you've often said, how something comes from nothing.
And then how life comes from, if matter were somehow created, non-living matter, how could then life develop?
It's absurd.
It's absurd to believe it.
It's harder to believe that than it is to believe in the God of the Bible.
And you just start from there.
And they know it.
And they have no explanation.
Richard Dawkins and all the other famous atheists, they just dodge the question.
They'll say, for example, it's a multiverse or aliens.
Well, then who created them?
It's absurd.
As smart as these people are, it's embarrassing the things they argue.
Because it becomes physically impossible.
How do you answer?
Because you deal with younger people.
And younger people, they tend to get caught up in the culture.
And the culture is corrosive.
And a lot of the values in the culture are the antithesis of Christian or faith values.
So I'm sure you find moments where you find yourself in a position to counsel young people.
Where do you start?
Because obviously apologetics is too deep.
So what I have found is that young people are looking for something to fulfill the void in their life.
I mean, God created us to worship him, to have a relationship with him.
And young people want that.
It's just that most of them are looking in the wrong places.
And so when I have counseled or become friends with younger people who are searching for something in their life, I just had a conversation the other day with a friend who was talking about meditation.
And she was saying, it's so hard to meditate.
I mean, to empty one's mind.
And I said, because your mind is not meant to be empty.
You're meant to be meditating on God.
That's what we're actually created to do.
And so.
How many people can say the Lord's prayer from start to finish without getting distracted, thinking about work, friends, conversations that they had or will have with this person or that person?
So it actually takes focus, meditation, if you will, to even say the Lord's Prayer, doesn't it?
It does.
And one thing that we have talked about in this book is that when you are reading the Bible, you should treat it as an open opportunity to have a conversation with God.
You're not meant to walk your faith out alone.
It's literally God with you speaking into your life through the Bible because that is his word.
And so I think if people approach the Bible that way, understanding that it's actually God trying to speak into your life through these words.
Is God speaking to us when we go to a beach and hear the sound of beautiful waves or we watch a beautiful sunset or we see incredible nature in all of its color and beauty and majesty?
You know, I think that's what theologians would call general revelation.
You know, basically, Hannah, you're in kindergarten.
I got it.
No, no, no, no, no.
No, I'm saying there's a difference between you talk about in different books of the Bible, you see God's majesty in creation and you can't deny him.
But that doesn't take you the step further that the God of the Bible is the true God.
Any God could work for, not any God, but a lot of gods could work for that.
But the God of the Bible is who we worship, the Holy Trinity, Father, Son, and the Holy Ghost.
And this book, by the way, like the last one, is a study of Paul's seven epistles.
He did 13, and I covered the six epistles, the other six epistles in the last book.
In this one, we cover what is called the prison epistles, Colossians, Philemon, Ephesians, and Philippians, and the pastoral epistles, 1 Timothy, 2 Timothy, and Titus.
But we go through the Bible, those books, the seven letters Paul wrote, those seven letters he wrote, called epistles, verse by verse, paraphrasing what he said, and then adding commentary, our own insights, and commentary that we get from various scholars and intersperse it.
But the new thing about this book, which I'm excited about, is the prayers that we have inserted.
And Kristen is the primary author of these prayers.
And I would help, but she's so spirit-filled.
The prayers bring you closer to the text, bring you closer to God, have you interact with the book.
But the main purpose of this book, Sean, is to draw people to the Bible.
We're not the Bible.
We're not God.
We just want.
And that points the direction to God.
Yes.
Ask and you will receive.
Seek and you will find.
Knock and the door shall be open for you.
Absolutely.
Go into your closet and pray.
Yes.
All right.

Check out the Sean Hannity Shops Forum today.
Now, Hannity's on coast to coast.
All right, we continue.
David Limbaugh, his daughter Kristen, my personal assistant, is with us.
They have collaborated on a brand new book called The Resurrected Jesus, The Church in the New Testament.
You can get it at Hannity.com, Amazon.com, now bookstores everywhere.
All of these specific prayers based on your dad's study and your study, designed to basically be connected to the specific scriptures that you're referring to.
Yes, yes.
Dad and I worked on them together.
We pull from the scriptures that we're dissecting and trying to help explain on a lay level.
And then we take those specific scriptures and create a prayer from them so that the readers can interact with those scriptures so they can pause, kind of like I was saying earlier.
And it's an opportunity for them to have a conversation with God, to ask him for deeper revelation, to ask the Holy Spirit to open your eyes spiritually to have revelations and a deeper understanding of the nature of God's heart toward them.
You know what's fascinating about this, and again, the book is called The Resurrected Jesus by David Limbaugh and his daughter Kristen Limbaugh Bloom.
Is I see and observe most people I meet in pain.
I see most people have troubles.
Most people are struggling in some way.
And to me, in my own personal life, the answer has been this: my faith, my belief in God the Father, Jesus, his son, and the sacrifices.
This book takes it to a whole other level, but in a way that's very relatable and understandable, which is what you do at the prayers.
I didn't know you did that part specifically.
You get more credit than your dad on the book.
Anyway, we put it up on Hannity.com.
It's on Amazon.com and now in bookstores everywhere.
All of your books, David, have done so well.
And it's got to be such a moment of great happiness and joy for you to be able to do this with Kristen, your daughter, The Resurrected Jesus, The Church in the New Testament, Amazon.com, Hannity.com, bookstores everywhere.
Guys, great book.
Great job.
And we'll see you tonight on TV.
Thank you so much.
Thank you, Sean.
We love you.
Great to have you.
Love you guys back.
Will you take that back if she gets more credit than I do?
This isn't right.
Is that a problem?
Yeah, that's going to be an issue.
But you're the mentor, so you should be very okay.
I can accept that.
Okay.
Quick break, right back.
We'll continue on the other side, and we'll get to your calls coming up straight ahead as well as we continue.
Continuing to build the foundation for conservative victory.
Victory.
Now, back to the Sean Hannity Show.
I 25 now to the top of the hour, 800-941-Sean.
Our number, if you want to be a part of the program, how great are Kristen and David Limbaugh?
They're the most wonderful people.
I've been so blessed to have them in my life.
And this book they wrote, you know, people ask me all the time, I make this statement that sounds absurd, considering the business I chose to work in.
And that is that fame is really, really unhealthy.
If I'm grounded at all in my life, and that's for others to judge, not me, to the extent that I am, it's due to two things.
One is a work ethic that my parents instilled in me since I was young, which is just you work and you grind and you work harder and you don't stop.
And the second thing, probably should be the first thing, is my belief in God.
And as often in my life, especially when I was young, was getting in a lot of trouble, there was always something in me called, I guess, a conscience that let me know that I wasn't living the way that I should be living.
And that conscience finally just surrendered.
I'm like, all right, I'm sick and tired of feeling like crap about myself.
And I just start living a better life.
Not a perfect life.
Nobody lives a perfect life.
But you strive towards being the better you that you can be.
I mean, Linda's now been going to church.
She's an entirely different person than she was five years ago.
I don't know what that means.
No, you're not.
First of all, that's true.
I am not entirely different.
It's entirely different.
I just, I'm a little bit more grounded.
A little?
To say, wait, can I share a story about Story time with Linda.
Go ahead.
We should play music.
First of all, it's sad.
So, but it really is one of those things.
I was in church on Sunday with Pastor Tim yesterday, and he was going to do a sermon, Psalm 139, and he was going to do this sermon about just who we are and how God creates us and how he knows, like you always say, every hair on your head, you know, every breath you take, and he knows you before you are who you are to the world.
And as he starts talking, he looks up into the into the church and he sees this woman there who has stage four cervical cancer and she's like in her 30s.
She has four children.
Over the weekend, her youngest, who is four, actually second youngest, she has a newborn baby because that's just exactly what she needs, right?
Is to be super sick with this child.
Her little guy has a belly ache.
They take him to the emergency room.
He has stage four tumor in his belly.
So now she has stage four cancer.
The little boy who's four years old has stage four cancer.
And I'm sitting there and I'm like, well, I'm really lucky.
Like I'm really blessed that this is not my world.
Like it makes all of your problems seem, and I hate to say it because it's kind of like, you know, when we were kids, it was like, you know, you didn't like what you're eating on your plate and your mother would say, somewhere there's a child that's starving.
You'd be like, oh, I just don't like string beans.
I'm not trying to have like a biblical.
No, I used to be a wise ass.
My answer was when I threw out my sandwich and the nuns would take it out of the garbage and say there are starving kids all over the world.
I'd say, here, take it.
Give it to them.
If you're really hungry.
And that was my answer.
I'm not going to be able to do it.
But it's true, right?
Like this is being in church.
And I share that story for the purpose of if you have it in your heart to pray for them.
But, you know, it's one of those things where I think, first of all, I couldn't find a church for a long time.
You and I have talked about this, you know, as being raised a Catholic.
And it's funny because I still genuflect.
I still make the sign of the cross.
I still do the rosary, but I'm going to a Christian church.
It's confusing.
I'm coming out of it.
I'm doing the best I can, right?
I'm mixing it up.
But, you know, it's completely different, you know.
But I do think having faith has gotten me through some incredibly hard times.
And I believe that as a nation, a big part of why we're suffering right now is because we have lost our way.
You know, I always say to people, I don't care how you pray.
Just please pray.
Please look to something higher than yourself.
One of the great intersections of politics and religion or faith is the belief in natural law, which we talk about a lot, and that we're endowed by a thing.
Oh, you know, the thing.
No, we're endowed by God, the creator of everything.
And that sets us apart from so many authoritarian regimes where they want the state to be the God.
The state takes care of your every need, not this belief that God gave you talent and in a free environment, you bring that talent to fruition and you contribute to other people and you fulfill your destiny in the same time, which is the perfect model that has worked so well up until where we are now, which is 62 days away from a midterm election that will dramatically impact the future of this country.
It is an inflection point.
It's the only thing that, you know, deep, dark red, not pink on fake news, CNN Joe Biden got right the other night.
It's an inflection point.
Anyway, let's get to our phones.
A lot of people are standing by patiently.
Adam is in the Rocky Mountain high state of Colorado.
What's going on, Adam?
How are you?
Glad you called.
Hey, Sean, you're a great American.
Thanks for having me.
You're a great American.
Thank you for checking in, sir.
So I called you in 2008.
I was living up in Idaho and I was a liberal and I was an atheist.
And I've made a huge circle in my life and you've been part of it.
I started listening to you to know my enemy.
And now you're my hero.
Well, let me ask you this.
What changed?
I mean, the fact they had an open mind to listen to somebody that you disagree with, you get major points for that in the first place.
I mean, was it something like, did you like getting irritated by me and annoyed by me and frustrated by me and then maybe begin to realize and question your own belief system a little bit?
Well, politically, yeah.
Politically, it was Ron Paul that really opened my eyes to the Conservative Party.
But later on, it was the pain in my life that got me into faith.
It was the pain and suffering that I've brought my life to.
Like you were just saying, I got into drugs and alcohol and anything to give me pleasure besides the source.
And it was about two, three years ago that I was at the bottom of the barrel and homeless.
And I mean, up in the woods, homeless.
Odd jobs, found a place to rent, happened to be right next to this church.
I kept looking at it.
One day I stumbled in and I just haven't turned back at all.
Not even close.
What a great story.
I'm friends now.
I do service.
I'm doing ministry work.
I'm doing mission work.
It's amazing.
So you found a purpose in your life.
I'm assuming you're not homeless anymore.
You have a place to live and your roof over your head and running water.
I live right next to the church.
My job is amazing.
My house is amazing.
I've gotten into the band and the church band.
I play with kids.
Everything.
I'm healthy.
I'm doing yoga.
I'm working out.
I'm my best self.
I'm not perfect, of course.
No, but you know what?
It's like we all make decisions in life.
I was talking to Jason, our engineer.
He's 49.
I said, what you do in the next 10 years of your life, health-wise, is going to really set the tone for your older years in life.
You know, the last 10 years of my life, I've been doing mixed martial arts.
And had I not made that decision to commit myself to training every day, I don't know what shape I'd be in today.
I really don't.
Sure, but all that starts with God.
All of that starts with you surrendering, like you said.
I surrendered at that point.
I said, I got to get out of the driver's seat.
Listen, I can make mistakes up to a point.
And then there's something in me that just convicts me, if you want to use that religious term, but just like I can't do it anymore.
I just have to stop it, whatever it is.
And I think that's a good thing.
We've almost come to look at, oh, feeling guilty is a bad thing.
No, feeling guilty to me is a good thing because it means probably you're doing something wrong.
And there's something inside of you that makes you aware you're doing it wrong.
And a lot of people try and numb that thing that tells them they're wrong because they don't want to admit they're wrong and their ego doesn't want to admit that they're wrong.
So they stubbornly cling to the wrong way of life.
But there's a joy on the other side of it that if you can get, if you change yourself, the word repentance means to change your heart.
That's the Latin derivative.
And that I took to me, took from Latin in high school when I went to a prep seminary.
And some people say change your mind, then God changes your heart.
Yeah, now you're even going to vote conservative.
So I really, you're like a full, since 2008, you've made a 180, and it sounds like your life's so much better off.
I hope everybody that might hear you today that may not be where they want to be in life, and there are people listening that are not where they want to be in life, can hear your story and listen to it and realize that if I start making better decisions today, I'll reap the benefits down the road.
You first heard me, you said in 2008.
And that's a long time ago.
And I'm glad you've been there for 14 years because all I need is three hours a day and one hour at night.
And we will remain good friends.
But in all seriousness, you made the choice and the decision or decisions that better your life.
And to that, you deserve credit.
And thank God you're in a better place.
I'm happy for you.
Finished with, you know, listening to you and the other guys, which I respect.
It does bring tension to me when I know what's actually going on.
You inform me.
But I don't dwell on it anymore.
I don't get upset about it anymore because we're governed by God.
None of what's going on with our politics matters.
Well, it does.
I mean, all throughout the Bible, doesn't God, doesn't God let people make mistakes and don't they pay the price for their mistakes?
Even King David, for example, Paul of Tarsus.
It matters.
Right?
Saul.
It definitely matters.
Being convicted and changed his life.
There are penalties for turning your back against the things, the principles that are most important in life.
I believe that with all my heart.
I get really upset about it.
After Afghanistan, I mean, I was so mad.
I was so upset.
I still am.
It was making me unhealthy.
So I have to draw the line.
I still want to know.
I want to be informed.
But I'm not going to live that.
I'm not going to.
You're not going to let it govern your day-to-day.
Listen, nobody should let anybody take your happiness away from you.
And believe me, there are people every single day of my life that want to take happiness away from me.
And there are groups that are dedicated to literally destroying my life and career.
And they have tons of money, unlimited amounts of money to do it.
And it's not just me.
It's any prominent conservative voice.
And you can't let them take your joy away.
You have the choice.
I'm not giving it to them.
They can hurt me.
They can sting me.
They can lie about me.
They can do whatever they're going to do.
But at the end of the day, I'm not going to let them take my life and my joy away from me because that's not theirs to take.
Anyway, my friend, God bless you.
So happy about your life.
Thanks for sharing it as well.
Adam, check in with us in another 14 years.
It's been a while.
We appreciate you being there.
William is in New York.
William, how are you?
Glad you called.
How are you doing, Sean?
Nice to talk to you.
You watching these polls in New York with Lee Zeldon?
Lee Zeldin is now within the margin of error.
Yeah.
Yeah, and it's good to see.
But this is, I was listening to your show last week when you had your fill-in host.
And you had Tony Gonzalez on the congressman from Texas.
I've been an attorney for 25 years.
Sean, language matters.
And Tony's down there fighting a good fight, but his messaging, like a lot of Republicans and conservatives, and I'm a diehard conservative, the messaging is wrong.
It is totally wrong.
When you talk about the border and you're talking about a president who has no problem watching on a monthly basis thousands and thousands of people enter this country, candy-colored fentanyl cross this border that are killing kids and illegals coming into this country and committing just an array of crimes.
This is not incompetence.
This is not, ah, he's an old man.
He doesn't know what planet he's on, which he doesn't.
It's intentional.
And the reason why it's intentional, because on page 2,940, whatever, of some bill, God forbid they win this midterm, amnesty is going to be buried in there.
And you are not going to have 14 million because that's the old number.
The new number is somewhere around 22 million.
Isn't it, Sean, the legal aliens in the country?
There's no way to get a full handle.
It used to be 11.
They say anywhere between 3 and 5 million under Biden by the time he gets out of office.
God knows what the real number is going to be, but it's going to be very high.
And you're making my argument for legal immigration.
And legal immigration should be, okay, we get to do a background check, a health check during a pandemic, and you've got to show that you have the means and ability to care for yourself and won't be a financial burden on the American people.
And then we will welcome you to the country.
And I don't really care where you come from.
Amnesty is, what are we talking about, amnesty?
You violate our laws, borders, and sovereignty.
And then, oh, we'll be the party that gives you something of great value.
If we give you this, boy, we sure hope you vote for us.
It's kind of like bribing kids with student loan forgiveness.
I hope you young people realize we paid off your student loan.
You may want to vote for us.
That's why I said we should be calling it the Bribery Student Bribery Act of 2022.
And it's beyond troubling.
And yeah, they're going to use the power.
In the case of student loan forgiveness, you have even Nancy Pelosi acknowledged Biden didn't have the authority to do it by executive fiat.
In the case of the border, well, Joe Biden is aiding and abetting law breaking at a level we've never seen before.
If you did what he's doing, you'd be arrested for human trafficking and you'd spend a lot of time in jail.
And that's the lawlessness that has been and defines the current administration.
Now, if they get power in 62 days, expect court packing, expect a goodbye to the legislative filibuster, expect DC and Puerto Rico statehood, and expect the biggest power grab this country has ever seen.
This election matters.
62 days and counting.
And in some states, like the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, early voting starts in two weeks.
You got to pay attention.
800-941 Sean, if you want to be a part of the program.
