Time Text
This is an iHeart podcast.
You want smart political talk without the meltdowns?
We got you.
I'm Carol Markowitz and I'm Mary Catherine Hamm.
We've been around the block in media and we're doing things differently.
Normally is about real conversations.
Thoughtful, try to be funny, grounded, and no panic.
We'll keep you informed and entertained without ruining your day.
Join us every Tuesday and Thursday, normally, on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Your number is 800-941 Sean, if you want to be a part of the program.
So Elon Musk announces that he's buying Twitter, and the left goes insane.
I mean, absolutely apoplectic, insane.
And the amazing thing is, is they're saying stupid things.
I mean, they're always being pretty stupid, but they're saying dumb things like, well, what if a politician, you know, gets canceled or banned or silenced on Twitter because Elon Musk owns it?
And I'm like, where the hell have these people on the left been?
Do they not know while the Ayatollahs in Iran still had access to Twitter and the ability to tweet their hatred of all things America and Israel?
The former president, Donald Trump, was banned from Twitter and Facebook and Instagram.
And so many other conservatives, banned, suspended, canceled.
You name it.
It happened all the time.
Then we found out all of us conservatives, all of a sudden, how many hundreds of thousands of new followers did we have, Linda, ever since the announcement that Elon Musk is buying Twitter?
We are actually up almost 2 million.
No.
No way.
We were at 5 million.
We're up to 7 million?
So they were shadow banning a lot of it for a while, and we complained and got them to release about a million and a half.
That got us to five.
And since he took over, we're close to 6 million.
So it's pretty insane.
So Elon Musk makes this announcement, then the left goes nuts.
I mean, they just go insane.
At the same time, almost simultaneously, President Trump had launched Truth Social.
And then I was looking at the most downloaded apps on the Apple store, the App Store, and I saw, I couldn't believe it, Truth Social for days was ahead of Twitter in terms of the number one downloaded app.
Donald Trump Jr., also a friend of ours and a friend of this program, he also, and I had no idea he was doing this until I read about it.
He now has created a curating platform, and it's now been the number one downloaded app in the App Store for a full day plus, 24 hours plus.
And it's called MXM News.
And it's a curating platform where Donald Trump Jr.
and other people that we know and like offer mainstream news without mainstream bias.
And I think this is going to be a massive hit.
This was a brilliant idea.
It would have been nice, Donald Trump Jr., if you would have brought me in the loop, I could have known ahead of time.
I might have helped you promote it, and you might have been number one for 48 hours.
I don't know.
How are you?
I'm doing well, my friend.
I'm doing well.
Yeah, listen, we have to push back against this stuff.
The left, I don't believe that they didn't know that there was censorship of conservatism.
They just said once there's a level playing field, all of a sudden, now they're really against it.
When it was happening to conservatives for the last decade, no problem, no issue with free speech as long as it's their free speech.
And the same is with news, Sean.
I mean, people were reporting on, say, the Hunter Biden laptop.
There were things out there about Durham.
They're just not covered by many people.
They won't get covered on the social apps.
So I started MXM News with a couple of friends to basically show people what's there.
I mean, it's totally free to download.
You can just go to my website, go to Donjunior.com.
You can download it on Apple.
You can download it for Google if you're on Android, totally for free.
But you can scroll through and see the news that you're just not going to see from mainstream sources, the stories that they try to cover up to make sure that you get an objective standpoint of what's actually going on.
And that's what we need, and that's what we all want.
But once there's that ability, that's when the left loses their mind because they've had total control over what is truth, even if it's not truth.
So explain this platform for me because I really like it.
In other words, you're going to go through the very news stories and news services.
You're going to vet the stories and the stories that you believe to be true and accurate and informative that people would want to know about.
Even stories like Hunter Biden's laptop that was totally suppressed in the lead up to the 2020 election.
And it's going to be a platform where people will be able to get news that you will kind of be pulling together.
Like, for example, as a talk show host, I would go to your site, see what stories you're leading with on any given day, and that would probably become part of my show prep.
100%.
You can just, you know, go on the app download.
It's constantly updated.
If something new comes on, you can scroll through, see what's the leading news.
You can choose sort of topics that are of interest to you so that those things will show up first and foremost.
If you're more into politics, that's one thing.
If you're more into sort of even VAGA politics, you can go that.
That way you're seeing the stuff that you're actually interested in.
But yeah, constantly updated, and it's from everywhere.
I mean, you may even find places, you know, stuff from the New York Times, as much as they've been as big a disinformation platform as there is out there.
Some things may be relevant to what you're seeing, but you'll also see the things that have been hidden, whether it's Breitbart, the Daily Call, or some of the more conservative outlets.
So it's aggregating all of the news from all of the channels that are out there online and putting them into one place that you can just scroll through and get all of your news in literally a couple of seconds and just click on what's of interest to you at the time and go from there.
So we just felt it was something that needed to be done, given how much all of this stuff has been hidden from people.
They're not going to see it on a lot of the social platforms.
They're not going to, you know, sometimes you're following too many people to see all that news.
So you can get it all in one place really quickly at MXM News.
So why did you call it MXM News?
Where did that name come from?
Well, it's a little play on minute by minute, but also sort of an alternative to MSM, like the mainstream media.
It's like that.
It's very clever.
So, you know, between, you know, minute by minute is probably the easiest way to remember it, but it's a little bit of a hybrid of the two.
And so far, it's been great.
Even for me, as much as I do this stuff, you know, if I'm not helping to curate, I can go see what I'd be interested in.
It's the source of my tweets, some of my outrage posts on other social platforms, et cetera, et cetera.
So it's been really exciting.
And again, I think filling a much needed void for news that matters that you're just not seeing elsewhere.
No, it's pretty amazing.
And it's a world that we live in that most people can't relate to.
And that once you get attacked by one publication, all the other leftist, left-leaning, liberal, socialist publications, they all do a rewrite of the same exact story.
And there's like, if you ever Googled your name, I tell people all the time that start at Fox or Start in Media, don't ever put your name on Google Alert or else you're going to want to jump off a bridge by the time your first controversy comes about.
And, you know, a lot of people are not, like, I just don't care anymore.
I don't care what people say.
It doesn't matter.
And I know you feel the same way.
We've talked about this.
But for a lot of people, they take a lot of this really hard.
Yeah, listen, I think once you're in sort of the cage that is this stuff, if you take it really hard, you probably can't just do it.
Luckily, I'm blessed with enough of the Trump genes that that stuff doesn't bother me.
But yeah, if you Googled my name, and again, that's part of the problem with search engines, right?
They're so heavily biased.
You know, if you Google my name, the first 90 articles are going to be from some lies from CNN and some sort of nonsense about that kind of stuff, Sean.
You're never going to get the stuff that's good or the things that are relevant.
Most of it's lies, and a lot of it's uncorrected lies, as you saw with dealing with the Russia-Russia hoax for years.
All the things that were found out to be lies, there's no corrections to those things.
They still show up, number one, number two, number three.
And that's why we collectively have to push back.
And I think that's why you're watching the left go outrage.
I mean, in one week of the outrage over Twitter, you have CNN Plus being canceled.
You have, you know, whatever it was that paid Obama for the stupid podcast that no one listened to, even though he made probably, what was it, $60 million or something like that for it?
You know, that's being canceled.
You know, people are finally pushing back.
It maybe took the extreme nature, Sean, of the incompetence of Joe Biden and the radical nature of today's Democrat Party for people to wake up and actually push back.
You have, you know, what was it?
Netflix lost 25% of their stock because you couldn't watch an American history thing without some, you know, the trans-Asian character that wasn't really there, but we're going to pretend was there to make sure we check off all the woke points.
You have all of these things getting crushed.
People have had enough.
So maybe I say Joe Biden was good because it exposed people to what the Democrat Party is today, the level of incompetence and insanity that's out there.
And I think we got to keep pushing back.
That's why you have this leak from the Supreme Court, Sean.
It's purely designed to motivate the left when there's literally nothing else in their party, in their platform, that's even remotely good for America, let alone worth showing up to vote for in November.
So they have to leak something from the Supreme Court.
If that was a conservative on a liberal issue, you know, people would be going to jail.
Instead, the collective left catches on to a couple sound bites.
It's really about this, and somehow it's going to affect childhood LGBT rights and all the insanity.
Again, you're watching before your very eyes, Sean.
Listen, they make it up about a lot of people.
Hey there, I'm Mary Catherine Howe, and I'm Carol Markowitz.
We've been in political media for a long time.
Long enough to know that it's gotten, well, a little insane.
That's why we started Normally, a podcast for people who are over the hysteria and just want clarity.
We talk about the issues that actually matter to the country without panic, without yelling, and with a healthy dose of humor.
We don't take ourselves too seriously, but we do take the truth seriously.
So if you're into common sense, sanity, and some occasional sass, you're our kind of people.
Catch new episodes of Normally every Tuesday and Thursday on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcast, or wherever you listen.
All right, we continue with Donald Trump Jr.
He now has launched his brand new news site.
It's MXM News.
It's a curating platform.
Anyway, it's free.
Just go to your app store and just get MXM News.
It's fascinating.
I've always, I've used this in past elections.
This is a tipping point, an inflection moment for the country.
And I mean it.
I really believe the next two elections are everything's on the line.
As bad as I knew they would be, I never thought things would get this bad this fast.
You went all around the country.
Your whole family went all around the country.
And I give you a lot of credit because it's a grind.
It's hard.
You put everything you had into it.
You left nothing on the field.
And I never thought it would get this bad this fast, even though I wrote a book about how bad it would get.
Live free or die, America and the world on the brink.
And you wrote a book similarly, you know, warning people how bad it would get.
And I'm like, wow, I still to this day, every day I look at it at the news, I'm ready to like say, we got to save this country.
Yeah, now every day I wake up thinking we must have hit rock bottom yesterday only to see something else ridiculous that's out there.
Yeah, I wrote liberal privilege about all of these things.
You know, Joe Biden was going to be radical on our energy markets and our energy sector.
No, no, no, we promise we won't.
And yet on day one, they had an executive order drafted up and ready to go.
You know, we've been lied to for so long by the other side that has a trillion-dollar mainstream media comp like Sean working for them, a trillion dollars in a big tech industry working as their marketing department, trillion dollars in social media.
I mean, we're up against three multi-trillion dollar industries that are working as the marketing department for the other side, and elections are still close.
It should be like 99 to 1, but they're not because the American people get it.
And now it's gone so far.
It's gone so extreme.
They've become so radicalized.
They can no longer hide it, even that much in their marketing budget, essentially.
Can't hide it from the American people.
And that's why I see people every day that were probably even left-leaning or at least neutral that are like, we can't do this stuff anymore.
It's insane.
It's gone too far.
They've woken up to it.
So you needed someone as incompetent as Joe Biden in the Oval Office who will just sign whatever the radical lunatics in the Democrat Party stick in front of him to show you how bad it's going to be.
And that's what it is.
It's not Joe Biden.
I don't think anyone believes it's Joe Biden.
This is today's Democrat Party.
John Jr.
are today's Democrat policy.
Is there anybody else on television that has exposed the fact that this guy is a cognitive mess more than me?
You know, I'd say you're up there, my friend.
You're up there.
But I don't say that with any joy.
I say it with genuine fear and trepidation because we're now seeing what a weak America president looks like.
I mean, for the people that criticized your dad for those mean tweets that made them bubble and fizz like alga-seltzer and water, I mean, good grief.
I'll take the guy with mean tweets that gives us an unprecedented growing economy that takes out the caliphate, sole money on the tarmac, Baghdadi and associates, gives us energy independence, sets record low after record low unemployment for African Americans, Hispanic Americans, Asian Americans, women in the workplace, youth unemployment, African-American youth unemployment.
And I'll take the guy that makes NATO pay their fair share and negotiated free and fair trade deals with every one of our allies and adversaries and got better deals for we, the American people.
I'll take that guy.
Yeah, now everyone's gotten an 8.5% pay cut.
And you and I both understand that inflation, the real numbers are much more than that.
You know, that's what they'll actually publicly say.
It's significantly more than that.
You have interest rates going through the roof.
You have energy prices super high.
I mean, this is going to create a serious problem, Sean.
I mean, people are going to have a hard time affording the homes that they've been living in for the last few years as their disposable income goes to nothing because they're paying out the wazoo for gas prices to be able to get to work.
It's going to get really ugly.
And what's really scary to me is, Sean, we're 18 months into a four-year term.
We got two and a half more years of this insanity to go.
And that should scare anyone who's been watching.
I mean, it's happened so quickly.
I say the only place that Joe Biden has overperformed is that I thought it would take them at least four years to destroy our country.
But they're really at a breakneck pace right now.
You know, and I'll say this about conservatives.
I know that there's, you know, we are in the primary season, and some people like this person, some people like that person.
I don't care.
At the end of the day, we better unite behind whoever gets the nomination because anything's better than these radical new Green Deal socialist Democrats.
Anyway, I want people to, you can go to your app store.
It's MXM News.
It's a curating platform created by Donald Trump Jr.
And you download it.
It's free, right?
100% free.
Yeah, we just want people to be able to see these things and make up their own minds.
So, yep, 100% free.
All right, Donald Trump Jr., always a pleasure, sir.
Thank you for being with us.
Quick break, right back.
Sean gets the answers no one else does.
America deserves to know the truth about Congress.
All right, 25 now to the top of the hour.
Let's go straight to our busy phones.
Vincent is in Kansas City.
What's up, Vincent?
I've been to Kansas City many times.
How are you?
Pretty good.
How are you doing, Sean?
Thank you for coming.
I'm good, sir.
Glad you called.
Hey, I wanted to talk about, I actually want the viewers to hear this, the mental health aspect that's affecting, well, in my own home, I've got a 19-year-old daughter that has struggled with mental health, which is not Biden's fault.
That's all on us as parents.
But when she told me that we had a long conversation the other day, she's okay, and we're working with this.
We're working this out.
But she said, you know, what kind of future am I going to have when I got to borrow gas money from you?
And she works.
She goes to college.
She expects to pay for her own college.
I mean, she's not the same kind of kid that expects their college to just be paid for and get handed, even though she's struggling.
I just wanted the viewers, Democrat, Republican, whoever's listening, to hear that this isn't just affecting.
She's looking at this through her 19-year-old eyes.
She can't see that it can't.
Listen, it's going to be up to our parents because our kids are.
I have a daughter of similar age, and my son is now out on his own.
And believe me, my son has discovered how much money he pays in taxes.
And he's like, Dad, can you believe this?
And he's like, and I'm like, really?
Do you have any idea what I do for a living?
You know, my kids.
One thing I never did is I never really brought my job home.
I never brought politics deeply into their lives.
I point things out to them, but I wasn't going to indoctrinate them into the way I think.
Turns out they think the right way on their own.
But my son in particular is like, I can't believe this.
You got to pay this fee, that fee to do this one thing.
And then they tax you.
He's like, you know, he's going off on me.
I said, would you like to fill in on my show one day?
Okay, very funny, dude.
Very funny.
You know, I'm not going to do that.
But that's called the reality check.
What I'm finding, and I am finding more people that I know and love in different industries and places that I go to, restaurants that I go to, places that I am a customer, where they're really struggling.
I hear these stories.
It breaks my heart.
People have put their entire life savings.
They've worked their guts out.
They're doing well.
And now this is impacting people in businesses like you can't even imagine.
And now we're going to have to navigate through these waters, not knowing how bad it's going to get.
And people, I think, are in for some real economic hard times and shock.
Look at people on a fixed income.
Look at the poor and the middle class.
And let's go with the low estimate of Bloomberg that the average American household is paying a $5,200 a year Biden inflation tax.
These are people that were gulping water already and juggling to make ends meet before all of this.
I'm just shut.
And then, okay, they maybe had one day a month, two days a month that they can go out to eat.
They're down to none.
That now impacts the restaurant business.
You know, maybe they used to buy steak.
Maybe they're buying chopped meat now.
Maybe they're buying, they used to get 90% lean and 10% fat.
Now they're buying 80% fat.
I'm sorry, 80% lean just to save that little extra money.
These times are going to get tougher.
Here's something else that's going to happen.
New housing starts are going to plummet dramatically.
Home prices, everyone's enjoyed the inflated cost of their homes.
And a lot of people, by the way, they made a lot of money selling their homes.
Good for them.
I hope they invest it wisely.
I don't trust the stock market.
What was the stock market down at one point?
I think over down $1,200 today.
Scared the crap out of me.
And now for people on fixed income, what about first-time homebuyers?
How are they going to get in the market when interest rates get to 7%?
Because now you're talking about thousands more per month that you have to pay just in interest.
So it's going to hurt us all.
And the thing is, there's no end in sight here because they're not going to change the policies, the bad policies that they've adopted.
They're locking into them more deeply.
Doubling and tripling down on stupid.
The single best thing they could do for inflation is go back to energy independence.
They won't do it.
And they won't.
But one last thing, if you don't mind.
It used to be that parents could talk to their kids about mental health because she has struggled, which is not the government's fault.
That's genetics or what have you.
But now I'm having a lot of time.
Do you mind if I ask?
Does she have anxiety issues, depression issues?
What does she have?
Lots of anxiety and, yes, some suicidal tendencies.
All pandemic spawned a lot of it.
Didn't get to finish high school.
Did finish high school, but not in school.
But there's a lot of issues on top of that.
I'm not blaming any.
I'm the parent.
I mean, that rests on my shoulders.
I mean, we raised her, just like you said, about your kids, with conservative values, but you don't drill it into them.
They just see how you live and they understand those principles.
But now I'm having to indoctrinate the government issues.
It's okay.
I mean, people can change this.
Hopefully.
I mean, I can't understand.
Let me give you some unsolicited advice.
And I know you're doing this, but just to reinforce perhaps what you already know.
Whenever somebody gets to that point, I always take it very seriously.
Absolutely.
And you've got to take it seriously.
And, you know, maybe it's, what kind of work are you in, Vincent?
What do you do?
I'm a truck driver.
And what about bringing your son out on the road with you?
What about sending him to trucking school?
What about the two of you, you know, working together?
By the way, there's more women driving trucks now than ever before.
Absolutely.
Every color is out here.
Every mix, every race, every gender.
I would just find the time, and it's very hard when you're an over-the-road guy to do that.
If there's anything we could ever do to help you, let us know.
If it's serious and you can't afford maybe a mental health professional, I know people that will give their time to talk to her.
All right.
So we'll work on, you know, if you need a number, we'll get you a number and you can get in contact with us.
And hopefully we can, you know, help her get over this hump, this obstacle in her life and become the great creative force that God made her to be.
Absolutely.
Thank you, Sean.
All right, man.
Thank you.
You.
God bless you.
800-94-1 Sean, if you want to be a part of the program.
Chris is in Illinois.
Chris, how are you?
Mr. Handy, how are you, sir?
I'm good, sir.
What's going on?
Oh, not a whole lot.
I am a third generation farmer here in Illinois, and I just wanted to call and talk to you about how you and Donald Jump Jr.
and then your last caller was talking about how bad inflation really is.
The government has turned back the natural gas production.
And due to the natural gas production loss, we get our anhydrous, which is a byproduct of the natural gas.
And with anhydrous going through the roof, that is the main fertilizer that we use to grow corn.
And our crops have been hurting because of high fuel prices, which was, you know, a couple years ago, it was $2 a gallon.
Now it's $5.65 a gallon in the state of Illinois.
And I also own a trucking company, and it's been very difficult.
And the question I have is: when is enough going to be enough to the government where people are going to stand up and get the Democrats and the Republicans off of our necks so we can start to survive again?
There's only one, it's only going to happen if we win the midterms.
We have to get at least one, the House or the Senate.
Hopefully, we get both.
And the single most important presidential election, I think, in our lifetime will be 2024.
I couldn't agree more.
But we've been at this turning point, and there's been certain regulations that the FMCA now wants to put a speedometer, put a rev limiter on our semis to where we can only drive 65 miles an hour.
So several years ago, they enacted the electronic logbook to where we can only work 11 hours a day.
They want to turn that back to 10.
Now we can drive, we used to be able to drive 75.
Now they want to back us down to 65, which is going to make more supply chain, or is going to make the supply chain even harder to keep moving.
The problem that is not happening is these regulations are getting enacted, but they're not getting removed.
When can that happen?
You know, I will tell you, the most important thing is going to be the elections.
I'd love to be able to tell you, this whole climate alarmist religious cult is real.
It's a cult.
These new Green Deal Democrats are real.
They're radical socialists.
What's interesting from a historical perspective is, to me, anyway, fascinating to me, is Democrats really have always thought this way, but they never said it publicly.
They always kind of hid their true feelings because they knew they'd be unelectable.
So now that it's out in the open, now that they've been pushing for it, now that they've failed on every single solitary front on a spectacular level, the door is wide open for a Republican Party that has strength and vision and that will go back to the policies that work.
I won't list them now because I list them often.
Anyway, I hope that answers your question.
It's not maybe not the answer you wanted.
I wish there was a magic pill.
There isn't.
It's called an election.
That's why you need election integrity measures in every state.
I've been saying that since 2021.
Anyway, Lynn is in Arizona.
Hey, Lynn, how are you?
Glad you called.
Hi, how are you?
I'm good.
Thank you for checking in.
What's going on?
I've been listening to your show for years and I've never called, but I really, really appreciate your call, Screener, first of all.
Second of all, your first caller was speaking about his daughter, and he kept repeatedly saying that it wasn't the government's fault, and he was taking responsibility as a parent.
I kind of feel like it is.
If the world was moving the way it should be, his daughter may not be as sad and depressed.
Things wouldn't be so difficult if it was a better outlook.
So he needs to take some of that burden off of just him as a parent and give credit where credit is due.
But I was really calling to comment on this disinformation thing.
I feel like it could be trouble for you in the future.
Most people are not looking at the whole big picture.
I feel like the Democrats are actually playing chess with this one.
Like they're looking ahead in the future.
If they're going to say that certain things that we disagree with them and it goes on Twitter and you talk about it on the radio, if it's disinformation, then all of a sudden there's going to be a problem.
It's just another way to be able to control Twitter again.
Because if a lot of these people are allowed to be on Twitter and they're allowed to say things that, you know, that they want to say and like the whole laptop thing that came out on Twitter, they can just shut that down.
They can start penalizing the platform.
They can start penalizing your platform as a radio show when you're very, very smart.
This has been a goal of the left for the longest time, and that's to silence talk radio, silence Fox News, you know, own all these big pet tech platforms.
It's fascinating.
All of a sudden they're worried that, wow, politicians may get banned.
I'm like, what world have you people been living in?
You get that already.
They don't live in my world where every single word I say for four hours a day on air is recorded and distorted and cropped and edited in the hopes that they can get me fired, start a boycott, silence me, cancel me.
I've never, my whole career, 35 years since I started this journey, I've never one time, ever, ever called for somebody to be canceled, some show to be canceled, some post to be hop fired, or for some boycott, which is just a roundabout way of trying to silence somebody.
Never.
I never will.
And I'll tell you why, because I believe in freedom, and that is the essence of freedom of speech.
I can't force people to watch.
I can't force you to listen.
I can only do the best show I can do and entice you to listen and watch.
That's going to wrap things up for today.
Loaded up tonight.
News you'll never get from the media mob.
