All right, news roundup.
Information overload hour.
Toll-free on numbers 800-941-Sean, if you want to be a part of the program.
So we're six weeks away from an election.
And if you look at every single issue we're now facing as a country, I don't care if we're talking about the response to COVID.
Under Biden, it's been a disaster.
They even ran out of tests over Christmas.
If you look at the economy, inflation, 40-year high, the highest price you've ever paid for gasoline, a gallon of gasoline in your life, more to heat and cool your homes.
You pay more at every store for every product that you buy because it costs more to ship it there, to get it there.
We have a supply chain crisis.
We got chaos out of our border.
We are now energy dependent again.
You got an administration, you know, trying to make a deal with Iran that would even allow the Iranians to do a $10 billion nuclear deal with Russia.
How stupid is that?
It doesn't get any dumber.
And trying to make a deal that would free up literally tens of billions of dollars in sanctioned money and give it to the Iranian mullahs.
That would also allow Iranian Revolutionary Guard members to be taken off the no-fly list so they can fly to America.
It doesn't get any sicker than that.
Then, of course, you have Joe constantly being rejected by OPEC nations in terms of his request to produce more barrels of oil.
They keep saying no.
They're angry at him, many of these nations, because of the deal that he's about to do with Iran.
And he's even sent emissaries over to Venezuela to talk to that murdering dictator thug.
And meanwhile, we've got more gas, natural gas.
We have more energy.
We have more coal.
We can be energy independent, a situation he inherited from Donald Trump.
We can be a net exporter of energy.
We can help out our NATO allies, our Western European allies that are dependent on Russia for oil.
Putin is making close to a billion dollars a day selling his energy to Western Europe.
Another dumb Joe Biden policy where he kills the Keystone XL pipeline while simultaneously giving a waiver for the Nord Stream 2 pipeline.
That has since been rescinded only because of the invasion of Ukraine, but the fact that he even thought about doing that is probably one of the dumbest things he's ever done.
But there's not a single thing that the Democrats can point to that they can say, oh, this is a successful policy.
That's why you're probably going to hear nothing but them demagoguing the abortion issue.
Now, I don't think it's going to work out the way they think it's going to work out.
Polls show 67%.
This is a Gallup poll of Americans favor either restricting or outlawing abortion.
While they're talking about, well, Republicans want to take away your right to choose.
No, Republicans believe that this is bad law, should never have been decided by the Supreme Court, and rightly should be decided by the people and their state representatives.
It's that simple.
And states like New York and New Jersey and California and Illinois, you know, in many of these states, you can have abortion on demand even in the final trimester.
It's insane.
That at that point is infanticide by any definition because the child is viable, can live outside the womb.
Ari Fleischer is with us.
He announced his new book is coming out soon.
If you want to order a first edition copy, you can.
It's on amazon.com, Hannity.com.
It's called Suppression, Deception, Snobbery, and Bias.
Why the Press Gets So Much Wrong.
And yesterday, he penned a really interesting op-ed for Fox News, basically saying there's no way in hell that Joe Biden is running in 2024.
Ari Fleischer, welcome back to the program.
Thank you, Sean.
Great to be here.
So they can't hang their hat.
They can't run in this midterm election year on any of the issues that I've mentioned.
Maybe you know of some success that I'm not pointing to.
I'm trying to be fair here.
If there is, please let me know and I'll correct the record immediately.
So they're all rushing out today with these proclamations.
This Roe decision is on the ballot.
I'm like, every decision of the Supreme Court's on the ballot.
It's like it's been on the ballot.
They've demagogued it for years.
And also, they've got a party that's on record supporting abortion up until a week before a woman is due to give birth.
Yeah, this one, Sean, the passion and the emotion are on both sides.
This is not one of those issues where one side feels so intensely about it and the other is, eh, this is for decades.
We've watched it play out.
And now at long last, the pro-life side looks like it's going to end up with their position prevailing.
Will that kick a little extra energy into the losing side?
You know, when you lose, it's more dire.
You're fearful, and so you must show up.
If you win, do you sit back?
Do you get a little complacent?
I just don't see that.
I think the emotions are so strong.
And as you point out, since the issue is now moving to the states, it's not as if the issue is gone.
It's just instead of addressing our envelopes to Washington, we'll address them to 50 state capitals.
You have to work 50 times as hard.
No, I don't think that there are, and I know there are people out there on the left that are trying to scare people.
One CNN fake news analyst was actually out there predicting that interstate travel, same-sex relationships, they're going to be on the chopping block after Roe v.
Wade.
No, they're not.
That's not going to happen.
New York State, California are not going to stop people, if they want a late-term abortion, from having an abortion if they don't live in the state.
That's just a fact.
Yeah, I think what's going to happen actually is you're going to have the pro-choice states, the most liberal states, go even farther and do basically what Canada does.
And you can have an abortion right up to the day of birth if you so choose.
And much of the rest of the country, and by the way, they're going to be most of the population is going to live in those states.
And then by geography, there'll be a lot of counties and states that represent the pro-life point of view, where the abortion is going to be either outlawed or you're going to be able to have it in limited circumstances in the first trimester.
And all the hundreds of millions of dollars that the pro-choice community has been spending, why don't they now spend them to fly somebody from Alabama to New York if that's what they really want to do?
It's not that hard, is it?
That's right.
And there will be a majority of people.
That's what it's going to happen.
I totally agree with you.
And look, it will get demagogued.
You expect it, but we get that every two years, four years.
I used to say every two years, four years.
Now it's like every day.
Republicans, racist, sexist, xenophobic, homophobic, transphobic, dirty air, dirty water, grandma and grandpa eat dog food, cat food, and then a Republican, a prominent Republican puts them in a wheelchair, throws them over a cliff, and they're dead.
That's their playbook, but I guess they keep using it because they can't run on anything that they've done that's successful.
And this is the most radical they've ever tried to be.
But what's missing here, Sean, is history.
Their problem, despite all the attacks that they make, that the media just echoes, because that's who the media is.
The problem, Sean, that the Democrats have is the tide of 2022.
But the press is ignoring when they point down and they just echo what the Democrats say because that's what they do.
It is the first year of a midterm election for the president, especially an unpopular president in times where the public is demanding change.
The Democrats are about to get their clock clean, just like in 1994 and 2010, and now 2022 is going to be a similar election.
So they can make all these cases that they've been previously making.
They can put the old playbook in a carbon copy and hope the press will carry it for them, which they will.
But history shows they're heading for a walloping, a blowout election in 2022, no matter what they do or say.
So I'm really looking forward to your book.
I've known you for a long time.
We've been friends for a long time.
You're extraordinarily bright, smart, objective.
I thought you were one of the few people in the Bush camp that kind of understood Donald Trump.
I'm sure you didn't agree with everything he did, or maybe stylistically you would have preferred he not be as combative as he was, and that's fine.
People are free to feel that way.
The policies absolutely worked, and I can defend that all day long.
So you got this book coming out, and I love the title of the book because it catches your attention, suppression, deception, snobbery, bias, why the press gets so much wrong.
For three long years, we were lied to about Trump-Russia collusion that never happened, about a dossier that was paid for by Hillary Clinton, a dossier that not only was not verified, it was unverifiable because it was not true.
It says on the top of a FISA warrant, verified.
So they used it on four separate occasions to spy on Carter Page, an innocent American citizen who we have later learned worked for the CIA and was very helpful to our government.
And that was a backdoor into all things to Donald Trump's world on top of the Alpha Bank computers and Trump Tower, that lie too.
And I'm looking at, for example, comments, I guess fake news, CNN hired a new leader, the guy that used to produce the late show with Stephen Colbert.
And I think he was involved in Stephen Colbert's Trump-hating cartoon show that I can't believe anybody would watch.
His name is Chris Licht.
Anyway, so he shoots out a memo on his first day yesterday and sends it to the employees saying, too many people have lost trust in the news media.
And I think we can be a beacon in regaining that trust by being an organization that exemplifies the best characteristics of journalism, fearlessly speaking truth to power, challenging the status quo, questioning the group think, and educating viewers and readers with straightforward facts and insightful commentary while always being respectful of differing viewpoints.
Now, that is the antithesis of modern-day CNN.
And I could go and prove every hour of the day, at least until, say, 11 o'clock at night, that their shows are not objective news shows, but they're opinion shows.
And if he plans to do that, he'd have to change the culture of the entire network and the face of the entire network.
I don't believe he means it.
His politics are clear.
Steve Colbert is a leftist.
That cartoon show was anti-conservative, if ever there was one.
I've watched it a couple of times.
So why would we believe him?
Wait till you read the chapter in my book that's dedicated just to CNN.
CNN is going to do a, it's going to have to have a heart transplant because their heart was getting Trump.
Their heart will be getting Donald Trump again.
Or Ron Santis or Genome or you name it.
They're going to go after whoever the next Republican is because that's what their anchors do.
They found joy.
They found satisfaction.
They felt liberation in becoming subjective opinion reporters with an agenda to take down Trump and take down Trump's supporters.
So, yeah, CNN is just like that.
But, Sean, I tried to call the balls and strikes.
That's what I believe my job is when I'm on Fox News, when I'm making commentary.
I've worked in the White House.
I try to call balls and strikes.
But what I get fed up with is if I see another umpire calling nothing but balls on one team, it doesn't matter if the pitch is right over the middle, he's calling it a ball because the Trump team is in the field and he wants to have runners get on base against the Trump team.
That's what motivated me to write the book.
I can't stand unfairness and I especially can't stand unfairness from an institution in our society that we are supposed to turn to to find out objectively what is truth, what the facts are, and then I as a voter will decide.
And the media went nuts.
They lost their perch in society.
They started losing it decades ago.
But man, did they run away from it under the Trump presidency, all in an effort to get Donald Trump?
And my book blows the whistle on it, and I'm proud to blow the whistle on it.
I have example after example of what they did wrong.
And I have remedies for what I think they need to do to get things right because we do depend on an independent fair press.
So yeah, Sean, I'd love to see CNN change.
I'm not counting on it.
You know, the thing is, is it's very interesting because I come under fire all the time because, and I'm really, I'm kind of, I'm way over it.
Whatever chip I'm supposed to have that actually cares that people attack me is long gone, thankfully.
Otherwise, I'd probably be, you know, in a rubber room somewhere.
But the reality is, is people don't know what I do because I am a member of the press, Ari.
And what I do is different.
I'll say right up front, I'm not a journalist, but I do journalism.
I can produce thousands of hours of straight news on radio and TV.
I do investigative reporting.
We were right about Trump-Russia collusion.
They were all wrong.
We were right about Obama's radicalism.
They were wrong.
I give opinion, and I don't hide the fact I'm a registered conservative.
I'm not a registered Republican, and I will tell you what candidates I like and support, or I won't take an opinion, and I'll tell you what candidates or politicians I don't like.
We do culture.
We do sports.
We're like an entire newspaper.
That's a member of the press.
I believe most of the other news media are just like me, except I'm more honest about who I am.
Yeah.
Now, here's something else you are, Sean, that I wish other people were like.
You don't cancel people because you dislike their opinion.
You engage with them and then intellectually take it on and you audiologically take it on.
And you do it with fun.
You do it with flair.
You look at MSNBC or CNN.
They just want to cancel you.
They want to cancel other like-minded people, especially if they've ever said anything pro-Donald Trump.
And this is what enrages me about the modern left.
They are no longer liberals.
They have become the professors in college who want to censor and censor all of us to make us see life the way they did.
And you, to your credit, have never been like that.
I've never heard you.
Even when you think somebody said something outrageous.
Ari, I've never called for a firing, a canceling, a boycott, ever.
Exactly.
That's vital.
That's vital to freedom.
That's vital to a free, fair debate.
It's vital to intellectualism.
That is how we learn, we develop, we foster our arguments, we get them better.
We move off a position.
Somebody convinced us.
I want more of that, not less, Sean.
By the way, Ari's book, if you want a first edition copy out soon, you're going to love it.
I can't wait to get my copy.
Why am I got my copy?
Anyway, it's called Suppression, Deception, Snobbery, and Bias.
Why the Press Gets So Much Wrong.
Ari Fleischer, thanks for being with us.
We appreciate you being here.
Always a pleasure.
All right, 800-941.
Sean, if you want to be a part of the program, quick break, right back.
Hey there.
I'm Mary Catherine Hammond.
And I'm Carol Markowitz.
We've been in political media for a long time.
Long enough to know that it's gotten, well, a little insane.
That's why we started Normally, a podcast for people who are over the hysteria and just want clarity.
We talk about the issues that actually matter to the country without panic, without yelling, and with a healthy dose of humor.
We don't take ourselves too seriously, but we do take the truth seriously.
So if you're into common sense, sanity, and some occasional sass, you're our kind of people.
Catch new episodes of Normally every Tuesday and Thursday on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you listen.
Gives you
the latest breaking news when he hits the air.
This is the Sean Hannity Show.
All right, 25 now to the top of the hour.
By the way, Mother's Day is coming.
And if you're interested in Live Free or Die, America and the World on the Brink, so much of what's going on in this country, I predicted, unfortunately, accurately.
I wish I did not.
Anyway, we have autographed copies.
We'd love to, and you can give it to mom or dad or whoever you want at Hannity.com.
Go to our website.
You also get news and information you won't get elsewhere.
Linda and I have a pretty interesting story because I understand politics is a blood sport.
It hit a friend of ours, and it's very interesting how this all unfolded.
And with all that's going on with the Supreme Court, I think it's relevant today.
And that is, so everybody knows that I'm supporting Dr. Oz for the Republican primary in the state of Pennsylvania.
Why?
Because he's a friend of mine?
No, that's not the reason.
Did I support Donald Trump because he was a friend of mine?
Nope.
I spent many, many hours talking to Donald Trump because if you looked into his background, well, he went to Hillary Clinton's daughter's wedding.
I confronted him on every one of these issues.
And then we had long conversations about where he stood on taxes, on the bureaucracy, on borders, on energy independence, on trade issues, on military, foreign affairs issues, etc.
And very early, I decided that he's the guy.
And a lot of conservatives said, oh, you sold out.
You know, Hannity, I can't believe it.
He's not a conservative.
Why are you supporting somebody that's not a conservative?
And I said, I wouldn't support somebody that's not a conservative.
I am telling you, he will be probably the most conservative president in our lifetime if he gets the chance because I knew where he stood on the issues.
I had these same conversations with Dr. Oz.
So we have been over every one of these issues in great specificity, great detail.
And anyway, so as many of you know, Rose Tennant has filled in on this program.
She and Jim Quinn had one of the highest rated shows ever in Pittsburgh history.
They're two incredible broadcasters.
They're two friends of mine, Rose in particular.
And Linda, you had heard about this story as well.
Anyway, Rose apparently contacted, there was an ad running.
I'm not sure who put the ad out, but an ad running in Pennsylvania that cropped the words of Dr. Oz, which politicians often do.
In other words, it's misleading.
It's purposely misleading.
And tried to say that Dr. Oz is not pro-life.
Now, so Dr. Oz, to his credit, was made aware of it, sent the entire tape, the entire video, without any cuts, without any editing whatsoever.
And Linda, tell the rest of the story from there because you talk to Rose more than I do.
What did she say happened?
Yeah, no, I mean, you know, Rose was an advocate for whoever the conservative candidate was going to be.
And this was, if you're living in Pennsylvania, these ads against Dr. Oz are nonstop.
They're incessant.
And people are very, very busy attacking Dr. Oz instead of defending their own platforms, which if they had a platform, that's what they would be busy doing.
So we reached out and I had talked to some folks on Dr. Oz's team.
And I said, you know, we really need to get the full tape because it's being taken out of context.
And to their credit, they agreed, and we got the tape.
And Rose took a look and Quinn took a look and Jeff Lord took a look.
And we started fighting back and talking on the air.
And Dr. Oz has done Rose's show quite a bit.
She has a podcast in Pittsburgh and has been speaking out and sort of, you know, answering all the attacks that are coming after him for saying he's not a conservative.
And to his credit and to his team's credit, they have an answer for every attack, unlike other candidates in the race.
You know, it's funny because I've seen these ads and there have been tens and tens and tens of millions of dollars, most of it the money, I'm sure, from outside of Pennsylvania.
Pennsylvanians are not donating that much money in a primary to any one candidate.
And, you know, the ads, when I see these ads, it's not a Dr. Oz that I know to be true.
It doesn't resemble any of the conversations we've ever had.
And I know them to be false.
Yeah, politics is a blood sport, and every side fights hard.
I don't have a problem with that.
But when you purposely distort somebody's view and knowing on the same videotape, somebody says unequivocally, I myself am pro-life.
Those words were uttered in that tape.
And they just took out a piece that made him seem like he wasn't.
To me, that's just dishonest.
That's about as swampy and sewerish as you get.
Unfortunately, that's the nature of politics.
But, you know, I'm not in that blood sport.
Anyway, Dr. Oz is with us.
So when I watch these ads, I would conclude you're not pro-life.
You're not pro-Second Amendment.
You're not pro-energy independence.
You're not a peace-through-strength guy.
And that you're pretty much the son of Lucifer.
And none of those things I know to be true.
I know they're not true.
I'll tell you what's most fascinating.
People do tell you what's going to happen.
You just don't believe it.
President Trump, he warned me that the establishment swamp would attack me with false ads because that's what they did to him.
And boy, he did that.
As you articulated, it was stunning.
The good news is.
By the way, I warned you also, in fairness to me.
No, no, you warned me.
All my friends told me, don't do it, Doc.
But this is the part that's most resounding for me.
The people of Pennsylvania see right through these ads.
I'm still leading despite tens of millions of dollars of negative ads.
And let's just walk through this real quick because what they do is tell a lie that's so bad that if it was true, you wouldn't have run.
So I'm obviously strongly pro-life.
President Trump mentioned that as the first thing in the endorsement announcement, which he wrote himself.
My mother-in-law is an ordained minister.
I mean, the hardest endorsement I got was her.
That might have been President Trump.
It was getting my mother-in-law to say, yeah, I'm the right one for your daughter.
And she checked on some of these issues.
My Second Amendment position is pretty clear.
The NRA has given me their highest grade for someone who's not been in elected office before.
Ted Nugent endorsed me.
I mean, he doesn't do that just because, you know, he's not.
And Rick Perry endorsed you on energy.
Rick Perry on energy policy, another area where they've been falsely criticized.
I mean, obviously, energy is a critical issue in Pennsylvania because we know that it can ease the suffering of a lot of Pennsylvanians as well as make the country energy independent, actually dominant, and reduce energy prices.
So these are all factors that come up.
But the bigger story is that this is actually not being run by all the other candidates.
And those other candidates are now critical of Dave McCormick.
I'll say his name, the candidate who's responsible for working with other insiders to run the most unprecedented negative ad campaign, which is certainly the most expensive that anyone has.
Well, he's been on Fox attacking you by name, so go ahead.
Yeah.
So, you know, shockingly, you know, this is so egregious now that other candidates like George Buchetta, who was the gentleman who lawyer fought against taking the Columbus statues down across the state, when the woke mob was going after these icons, and he came out and said, this is reprehensible.
This is a bigoted attack on Oz.
There's no place for this in Republican politics or any politics for that matter.
And he demanded that the ads be pulled.
But this is the deeper pathology that I want to point out.
I'm running with a very clear vision of what I will do to serve the Pennsylvania citizens.
I'm a surgeon.
I've saved lives my whole life.
That's what I do for a living.
When you're a surgeon, that's what you do.
I've touched hearts to do that, touched hearts on television.
And I fought to protect those around me, my patients, my viewers.
I want to do that for my voters.
And I've taken on the COVID mandates and Biden's failures and the woke bullies, like the ones that just leaked the Supreme Court opinion of Alito.
These people disgust me, and I'm going into the Senate to take back our country.
I have a vision for what I'm going after.
The problem with my, you know, my, at least one of my opponents, is they don't articulate that.
Every word coming out of McCormick's mouth is about me.
And I would like to ask, what are you going to do?
Because while I was busy saving lives during COVID, trying my best with others to minimize the pain and suffering, he was building the largest foreign hedge fund ever in China while we were suffering.
The same person was taking members of the pension fund to China to show them around while taking more than half a billion dollars in fees from them.
And then we're stuck right now.
As a Pennsylvania resident, I'm paying property taxes, extra ones, to pay back the half a billion dollars of debt that's in the school fund.
These are the kinds of things that are infuriating to Pennsylvanians.
And President Trump actually, because he called out McCormick for being pro-China, said he would let them eat our lunch.
He did it on teletown hall last week.
So it's becoming clear and clear to the average purviewer of this race that you have an insider candidate who is a classic Wall Street Washington swamp creature that has taken advantage of this state and has not given back.
And we have someone who's running as an outsider, me, who has made it my career to try to serve.
Now, I've been on the big stage, as you have.
I know what it's like to fight in public on issues that matter.
I've taken on big tech, big agrochemical companies, big pharma.
I took on the U.S. government.
I've got the scars to prove it.
And, you know, I cannot be bought.
But this is an example of how the citizens of Pennsylvania are seeing the race.
There are other good candidates in it as well.
They're not running these kinds of negative ads.
They're trying to articulate their voice.
But when you've got tens of millions of dollars, and I know for sure, Sean, it's from outside the state because I look at the federal reports that are, as you know, obligatory.
It's all from outside Pennsylvania.
And that's the part that's upsetting.
Wall Street's trying to buy a Senate seat, and it's not theirs.
It's Pennsylvania's.
So this was a big issue when Lindsey Graham ran for office and all the money, like Rosie O'Donnell and all these people were feeding his opponent.
How much money are we talking about?
And where's that money coming from?
Because my understanding is we won't really know fully until after the primary is all said and done.
I know President Trump, if I read this correctly, I think is going in this Friday and doing a big rally for you.
Isn't that true?
He's doing a big rally on Friday evening.
He's very much leading into this race.
It means a lot to him for obvious reasons because Pennsylvania is a critical state for the well-being of the Republican Party.
We cannot lose this Senate seat.
He said, I'm the best candidate to win this seat.
You know, this is a gentleman who knows a fair amount about winning and about politics.
So President Trump has done his homework.
He felt that I was the right conservative to support and represent the citizens of the state.
Droz.com, by the way, is my website.
If anyone feels inclined, please contribute because we're going after over $30 million of outside money.
And I know that because we have the data until March 31st, and we'll get the rest of the filings, but I'm sure it's the same character.
These are insiders.
One ad in particular, I mean, because you are pro-Second Amendment.
You are pro-life.
You are pro-energy independence.
I just know that for a fact.
If I didn't believe that, I wouldn't be supporting your candidacy.
To me, look, I guess I've seen it all because it's all been said about me, and I just kind of water off a duck's back.
I don't really care.
And I saw in a town hall, apparently somebody sent me a tape of you saying that you would give up voluntarily that citizenship and make it more difficult to see your mom.
Why would you have to do that?
That seems unreasonable to me.
It's a distraction.
Most Pennsylvanians were very offended by that ad.
We know that from numerous different surveys.
But, you know, if you're willing to compromise yourself to this degree to win a Senate seat, there's a deeper character issue that we need to address because we want people who will defend us in the Senate.
That's why senators are given that responsibility for six years.
You can't just change your mind if things aren't working out in six months.
You want people who have a track record to be honorable and honest with you.
This whole Turkish thing is a distraction.
They know that there's nothing to it.
I'm perfectly able to serve as a U.S. Senator.
Love my country and love my mother at the same time.
That's not the point.
They're trying to muddy the water so you can't tell what you're looking at.
And it's not just in Pennsylvania.
We see this happening in other races as well.
But professionals who are well adept at confusing people do just that.
And so you have well-meaning, hardworking, strong-willed individuals who could serve the citizenry perfectly well.
If they don't have the money to keep up, then they run into an obstacle they can't overcome.
And the good news is I have money, and I'm fighting these guys, and I will win the race on the 17th of May.
But the fact that it is this ugly of a process is representative.
By the way, I gave you the same warning I gave Trump.
I told Trump what was going to happen.
I didn't know how right I'd be in his case.
It was worse than anybody.
And I told you ahead of time, I said, are you ready to get the crap kicked out of you?
Because that's the nature of blood sport.
And I said, are you ready to be lied about?
Are you ready for these phoning attacks?
I said, they're going to come.
Anyway, so how do people get to go to this event on Friday that you're doing with Trump?
Well, there's already thousands of people signed up.
It's going to be huge.
