Michael Flynn's Co-Author Boone Cutler On His New Book 'A Citizen’s Guide to 5th Generation Warfare'
| Copy link to current segment

Time Text
And now, Lindell TV brings you The Stone Zone, with legendary Republican strategist and political icon, and pundit, Roger Stone.
Stone has served as a senior campaign aide to three Republican presidents.
He is a New York Times bestselling author, and a longtime friend and advisor of President Donald Trump.
As an outspoken libertarian, Stone has appeared on thousands of broadcasts, spoken at countless venues, and lectured before the prestigious Oxford Political Union and the Cambridge Union Society.
Due to his four-plus decades in the political and cultural arena, Stone has become a pop culture icon.
And now, here's your host, Roger Stone!
Welcome, I'm Roger Stone and you are back in the Stone Zone.
My special guest tonight is Boone Cutler.
Boone Cutler is a veteran of the U.S.
Army, retired.
He has co-written an important book with my good friend General Michael Flynn entitled The Citizen's Guide to Fifth Generation Warfare.
But before we go there and talk to my old friend Boone Cutler, I wanted to say a few words about tonight's debate.
Tonight what we have is a clash between the old media and the new.
The old media, Fox Television, is already disadvantaged because they have decided to abandon the niche audience of middle America, pro-freedom, pro-value, pro-American viewers that the legendary Roger Ailes both identified and helped them capture.
Fox Television made $650 million a year prior to the change in leadership.
They are at a disadvantage already as they are bleeding viewers, having made some kind of a corporate decision to become more like, well, CNN, a network that no one would be watching if they weren't open in the airports.
This is going to raise a lot of questions tonight.
First, the Fox side.
With Donald Trump not agreeing to participate, it's very hard to have a debate that the frontrunner is not in.
Will the other candidates attack Donald Trump?
Doing so based on the latest polling would be extraordinarily foolhardy.
Donald Trump's standing across the board in polls that I respect, meaning polls where I think the methodologically are sound and the scientifically drawn sample is accurate, show Trump at an all-time high watermark Most likely as a result of the incredible lawfare being waged against him.
So any candidate who chooses to attack Donald Trump tonight, even if it is just attacking him for not being present, I think is going to find that it would backfire extraordinarily badly.
Both support and sympathy for the president is at an all time high.
As he fights at least four politically motivated and legally baseless prosecutions right now in the days and weeks ahead.
Therefore, will the other candidates attack Ron DeSantis, who was until recently considered to be the man in second place in this debate?
There's plenty there to criticize him about, but perhaps his ratings in the polls have slipped so badly that the focus will shift to the new man in second place.
That would be Vivek Ramaswamy.
Will any of these candidates have the courage to ask Ramaswamy about the widely reported involvement in the World Economic Forum, where he very clearly was part of their Young Leaders Program?
Will he be asked about his Soros Fellowship, which helped pay for his education?
Will he be asked about whether or why he owns the patents to these various mRNA viruses that we can't even yet identify and why he has teamed up with Palatir in order to fast track their approval?
These are all legitimate questions.
The other issue will be his new position that we should cut U.S. aid to Israel.
At least one and perhaps two of these candidates have already criticized Ramaswamy for this position.
You can expect Nikki Haley to pick up the cudgels.
Will Chris Christie leave any of the food that is usually left for guests in the green room for anyone else?
Will Mike Pence have anything worthwhile whatsoever to say?
How will Tim Scott, who so far I think has handled himself extraordinarily well, handle this debate in terms of his prospects of being a potential vice presidential candidate?
How many people will be tuning in?
Bakari Sellers of CNN said that no one will be watching the Tucker Carlson exclusive interview with Donald Trump.
I don't know how anyone can be so wrong.
Tucker Carlson's new platform, for anybody who will look, is garnering extraordinary numbers in the millions, and this will be Donald Trump's first official return to the Twitter platform, now known as X.
Trump is, if nothing else, a showman, and he knows that there's a rival show across town, so you can expect the former president to make news.
Tucker Carlson is no shrinking violet when it comes to asking difficult questions, and after this is all over, everyone will be focused on who's watching what and what had the greatest single impact.
My guess is that nothing that transpires tonight will change any of the standing in the polls.
But then again, this is politics and the situation is somewhat fluid.
I have to say, having worked for Ronald Reagan in 1980 and for his re-election in 1984, even the great Ronald Reagan never had the depth of intensity in terms of the loyalty of his support.
Nor the broader popularity that Donald Trump has today.
It is counterintuitive, but it is indisputable that every time there is a new, poked up, fabricated, politically motivated indictment of Trump, his numbers in the polls not only galvanize the support he already has, but he picks up new voters.
And here's the key.
Independents are starting to get on to the political persecution of Donald Trump.
The idea that Trump can't win is incorrect.
In fact, only Trump, in my opinion, can win for the Republicans.
We will be tuned in to both the Tucker Carlson interview and to the Fox debate tonight.
And tomorrow, on The Stone Zone, I will bring you my first-hand observations.
So now let us go to my guest, Boone Cutler, served as a psychological operations team sergeant in the war with Iraq, whose team was responsible for Cedar City.
Following the war, he authored two other books discussing warfighters' perspectives of the war, during the time he was a patient at Walter Reed, and that was during the famous neglect scandal of 2007.
He fought a prescription drug addiction and he discovered alternative medicine treatments that work.
That's when I met him.
We were both advocates of the legal use of cannabis to treat PTSD in veterans.
He is a former radio talk show host and a gentleman who understands exactly what's going on in America today and what the American people need to do to prepare for it.
I'm proud to say that I'm welcoming Boone Cutler to the Stone Zone right now.
Roger, it's great to see you again, brother.
You look good, man.
It's been way, way, way too long.
I'm really happy you could do the show.
Well, thank you very much.
And I actually appreciate the little information that you said about veterans of PTSD needing alternative medications and getting away from the big pharma stuff.
It works for some, but it doesn't work for most.
And we're still fighting that fight.
And I just want to thank you for continuing to fight that fight with me, sir.
That's a very important question because I myself have had some issues with PTSD, not that I ever served on the front lines that you do, but I was the target of a two-year manhunt by a politically motivated federal government and it's not a great thing to have 29 FBI agents in full SWAT gear brandishing fully automatic M4 assault weapons
Surround your house at six o'clock in the morning to take you into custody for the completely fabricated crime of lying to Congress in my voluntary testimony about Russian collusion, which never actually happened.
Boone, my wife, whose hard of hearing, woke up looking down the barrel of an assault weapon, not knowing whether this was a home invasion or what had transpired.
She had Because she is hard of hearing.
She had slept through my arrest only to find her bedroom full of FBI agents and being awoken looking down the barrel of a gun.
Well, it would not be surprising to me that a man who's been through such as what you have would have, you know, the elements of PTSD and your wife.
And this is horrible.
I mean, not just the fact that your house was raided and it should never have been raided, but just the fact that we have an entire country right now.
Uh, that, that seems to be acting in this, this capacity of lawfare.
You know, you, you see Hunter Biden for some reason, lawfare works in his benefit, but to yourself and, and, uh, General Flynn and President Trump, lawfare is used against us.
And that is what we refer to.
That's in right in here.
It's part of fifth generation warfare.
Yeah, I must say that in a 45 plus year career in American politics, I have never met a finer leader or a finer gentleman or a better friend than General Michael Flynn.
People have no idea what a great military historian he is, what a great Christian he is, what a motivator of other people he is.
He works much harder at this than I do traveling when you are as unfortunately infamous as the media made us.
Uh, is, uh, is dangerous, but he's out there day on after day spreading the gospel of freedom, spreading the gospel of the U.S.
Constitution and sounding the clarion call of what the communist Chinese and other foes of this nation have in mind for us.
The fact that you were able to write this terrific book in conjunction with General Flynn is an extraordinarily, not only important accomplishment, but the book itself, we're showing it right there, is something you absolutely must have.
Now, because I know our critics, and I decided to, in honor of you, to wear my camo today, Let me be very clear.
Nothing in this book, nor neither one of us, advocate violence or lawlessness.
That's what they are doing.
And there are steps by which they do that.
We believe in the constitutional form of government, and we believe in solving our nation's problems at the ballot box, but we do insist on a free, fair, honest, and transparent election.
More recently, saying that has been criminalized.
Questioning the outcome of an election, pointing out anomalies, irregularities, or actually documented evidence of voter fraud, now borders on being a crime, may be a crime.
I know people who are currently being prosecuted for doing exactly that, even though I think that falls well within their First Amendment rights.
So we're in a very, very dangerous place in America.
Boone, tell us about the book.
The book is actually a series of books.
These are military-style manuals specifically written for civilians.
They are very, very difficult military concepts that are boiled down in such a way that the average 19-year-old working at Home Depot can understand it.
And General Flynn and I, how we got together on this is he's been traveling the country talking to groups that he's been talking to.
And I've primarily been talking to veterans groups across the country.
And one day we found ourselves in a hallway of all things.
And he says to me, he goes, I don't know what to do.
He says, every time I get off stage, people are just, they're so confused about what's happening in the country.
As I travel around, they don't understand it.
And then I take the time and I explain it and they feel better, but it's just so many people.
I said, you know, that's very interesting because I'm seeing the same thing and both of us have two different target audiences.
I don't understand how that can happen.
And the truth of the matter is we had a very long conversation.
We started looking at things like irregular warfare, unrestricted warfare, hybrid warfare, and it's very, very common.
For instance, this is a real thing that happened.
I'm talking to people, and the audience might consist of a person who's a gay, black female, very liberal, living in Chicago.
At the same time, in a different event, I'm talking to a very conservative white male living in Alabama, and the They both have the same feelings.
They both have the same concerns.
They both feel like something is just not right.
There's just too much dissension in the country.
There's too much confusion.
It feels like everybody's being manipulated.
And it's not one side or the other as far as the people of our country go.
And so when General Flynn and I, we talked about this, it just became very, very evident that we need to do something for the American people.
We need to start doing some educational pieces.
And just like in the military, we use manuals.
This gets everybody on the same sheet of music because we do not have a voice if we don't speak the same language.
And so we're doing something to give everybody the same language and they can understand it very easily.
This is session one.
This is session two.
Session three will follow up.
This is coming out very soon.
If you look real hard, you can find it.
It's how to fight artificial intelligence.
This one right here is a big overview of how everything is working, points a lot of attention at the Chinese Communist Party, because these things that are happening in our country are being done on behalf of a foreign power.
And this one right here, how to fight artificial intelligence, is so important because it's not talking about robots, it's talking about AI-driven psychological programming, true psychological programming that's happening on these devices, not just with you, but with your kids.
Yeah, I happen to be a victim of this at the moment.
There is a crazy left-wing documentary which seems to use the same technique over and over again, which is A disembodied voice that sounds like Roger Stone but nowhere can you actually see me speaking.
And in many cases I think this is fabricated.
In other cases they have manipulated actual video or in almost all cases things are being attributed to me that I never said.
Where my mouth is obscured by a phone call with a cell phone or I'm shot from behind.
It's the most duplicitous I used to think that censorship was the number one problem in the country.
You can put words in people's mouths undetectably to the untrained eye.
Could be the most dangerous thing out there.
Propaganda plays a crucial role in all of this.
Crucial role in the radicalization of American citizens.
I know you brought some charts here.
Let's throw a couple of those up and let you walk us through them.
What you're talking about as you're pulling that up, Roger, right now with a two second voice sample, they can make anybody say anything with artificial intelligence.
Just two seconds.
And people just are not understanding exactly what is happening with the artificial intelligence and how it's being used.
It is a weapon system.
It is a weapon of war.
And we're talking about the manipulation specifically that's happening in our country.
Now what you're looking at right there is very important, and I'll walk through it.
We're talking about, this is truly the steps to destruction.
If you look in our country right now, you're going to see certain things, and people need to ask themselves if they see this stuff.
Step number one is polarization.
Once you polarize a group of people, you got them on the way to where you want to go when you're talking about psychological operation.
Because polarization is the manufactured sense of life and death.
The manufactured sense of life and death.
And the reason you do that is to shut off someone's critical thinking skills.
From polarization, we move to tribalization.
People start combining into tribes, and what happens after tribalization?
Dehumanization.
Tribes dehumanize other tribes.
You're seeing this across our country right now.
People don't even know why their strings are being pulled, but it's happening.
After dehumanization comes killing.
So polarization, tribalization, dehumanization, and killing.
This is the path that we are on right now, and if we don't stand up, Take a big deep breath, start using our critical thinking skills again, and start thinking about the information that's being presented to us and understanding how AI is being used to manipulate us.
We're going to end up in a very bad place I don't think anybody wants to be.
All right, very well done.
Gentlemen, let's put up the next chart.
There we go.
Yes, right here we're talking about what it takes for artificial intelligence in session two.
You know, before you used to see things like someone becoming radicalized and turned into a lone wolf attacker, things of this nature.
You don't even have to do that anymore when you're talking about artificial intelligence.
There are AI systems that can be loaded, that can be part of your online experience that radicalizes you in and of themselves.
So we're starting out with that grooming phase, we get into the grooming phase, we get into the action phase.
Once we get into that action side, we're actually actioning to create violence.
Look around you.
You're seeing groups of people all of a sudden becoming violent and they're talking about things and saying things that don't make any sense at all.
But to them it does because they have been radicalized.
People are being radicalized with AI systems right now.
All right.
I think this is absolutely true.
We have seen this in our own community.
The intolerance of the left has really become quite extraordinary.
I never really believed that there would be a time in America when I felt unsafe in my own neighborhood.
Only a week ago, somebody on Twitter posted a photo of my home saying, this is where Roger Stone lives.
I've seen him in the neighborhood.
Unfortunately, he's never alone.
I think I know what that means.
By the way, that person now on X, formerly Twitter, they will not be banned even though I filed a complaint against them.
Try walking through an airport or going to a restaurant.
Or the drug store, or a liquor store, and I am not obviously a violent person.
Now in the old days when people started cursing at me and using the F-bombs, I used to respond in kind.
Now when I say, you know, you're so misguided, I'm going to pray for you.
Yeah, it's like splashing holy water on Satan.
I mean, the way they react to that is quite extraordinary.
Boone, one of the things you talk about, do we have one more chart?
I think we do.
We have one more chart.
Let's throw that up and have you walk us through that.
It's a little small.
I gotta lean in.
So if anybody wonders why I'm doing this so I can see which one we're talking about.
So this is the book that's coming on artificial intelligence.
If you said correctly, this is not yet in the marketplace?
We have not made a public announcement to release it yet, but if you go on the online locations where you can buy books, it is available.
So if people want to jump on that right now, they can.
I'm not going to say they can't.
And you know, if people want it, they can get it.
I would wait for the official announcement because we're going to do some very special things that I think people are going to like.
You're definitely going to like, and we're going to be talking to you about that.
But yes, that's session two.
And this is a series.
Remember, this is a series just like Military Manuals.
They come out in a series.
Session 1 is Introduction to 5th Generation Warfare, and Session 2 is How to Fight Artificial Intelligence.
And it's a very comprehensive plan.
It's top-down, it's bottom-up.
It is about your family, it's about your community, it's about your state, it's about your federal government, and it's about what you can actually do.
We're not just throwing problems out there saying, hey, we're going to be alarmist and make everybody scared.
It is a real, real thing that you can take an active part in fixing these things right now, and obviously go to GeneralFlynn.com if you'd also like to purchase either one of these books.
Yeah, we're going to leave that up for a second, folks, to buy this great book.
Citizens Guide to Fifth Generation Warfare by Lieutenant General Michael T. Flynn and Sergeant Boone Cutler, retired.
You can get that at GeneralFlynn.com.
I am very anxious to see mine.
Boone, one issue I want to talk to you about is the high rate of suicide among veterans, among warfighters.
America loses at least 23 veterans 22 veterans and one active duty officer to suicide every single day.
What's being done about this and what can we do about it?
Well, I think we're doing a lot of things.
I think people in general just need to understand that there's a level of acceptance that needs to start happening because the warfighter community, specifically with veterans, we're finding our own ways to treat these things and it's usually with alternative methods.
It's not the big pharma game, you know.
Psychedelics are working fantastic.
Marijuana for sleep is working fantastic.
Nobody's complaining about it, who's doing it, it's just the people around us who are falling into that, again, that messaging, that propaganda that was put out, you know, dozens of years ago now.
I was on a call with the NIH, this is a fascinating thing, I was on a call with the NIH, I got invited to a workshop, a three-day workshop, and it was the NIH with, I think there were 23 other countries involved, and they were talking about how they were going to make
Psychedelics available to the populace and what that would look like and the first thing I recognized is the fact that the NIH can get 23 other countries or however many countries on the on one phone call at the same time I thought was pretty amazing and also lends to hey this is how things are done.
But the first day of the conference, it was very much people talking about the studies that were done back in the 60s before everything just got chopped, it got stopped, and everything got pushed into big pharma.
Because the studies were definitely showing that not only is this treatment, but oftentimes this cures things that are plaguing us as far as inside the mental space of our minds.
And so this is a big deal.
And marijuana absolutely is not a negative thing.
It helps a lot of people sleep.
It helps a lot of combat veterans or other people with PTSD.
Just get everything toned down a notch and it works very well.
And it's not addictive.
You know, these addictions that we have, I myself was addicted to Benzodiazepines, I was addicted to opiates, all the stuff they put me on when I was at Walter Reed and then after into the VA system.
And it wasn't until I got off of those medications and started living more healthy and using alternative medicines that things were actually working and things got better.
And if I had not done that, my mind would not be strong enough to join General Flynn in this This cause, this fight that we're taking up to help the rest of the American people and the people around the world because literally every country is affected right now.

He's also fighting with the FBI to get his cell phones back since they were seized from him.
He went to great expense recently to run a great voter symposium on election integrity in Springfield, Missouri.
My adopted nephew, Alex Stone, was on the show with a special.
Report about that event.
He is a selfless patriot, a man of endless good humor, a happy warrior, always an optimist even in these dark days.
So Mike Lindell very much deserves your support.
When the media mocks him as crazy pillow guy, just makes me love him all the more.
You also support this program, The Stone Zone, which is brought to you every day at 4 o'clock Central, 5 o'clock Eastern.

So if you're, say, watching MSNBC, although I don't know why you would, you see their relentless attacks on me based on nothing.
Trying desperately to tie me to controversies in Georgia that I have nothing whatsoever to do with, or the riot at the Capitol which I have nothing whatsoever to do with, or even the effort to delay the certification of the Electoral College in the US Senate.
Another thing I have nothing to do with and you say why are they beating up Roger Stone?
Well I think it is bitterness because I've been very open about my religious redemption and the fact that I believe that that is what is responsible for being saved from dying in a dank Georgia prison making my wife a widow.
So you can help us by going to MyPillow.com Looking at many of the great, great products there and take something for you and your family while supporting Mike Lindell, Frank Speech, Lindell TV 1 and 2, and The Stone Zone.
Here is My question, let's see what we have here.
This is Eric from Borough Park, New York.
He said, I listened to your WABC radio show the other day and you were talking about the history of the hamburger.
Can you review that and tell me the name of the place in New York that you thought was so great?
Well, this entire concept of ground beef came from butchers in Hamburg, Germany.
Obviously, hamburger is not made of ham.
Hamburger does not include pork.
So, at the turn of the century, it was German butchers who first produced chipped or ground beef, and they were generally from Hamburg, which is where the sandwich gets its name.
The very best hamburger in New York City is at a place called The Beach Cafe, which is at 1326 2nd Avenue in New York City.
If you go there, be sure you order the Stone Burger.
This is a hamburger named after yours truly, although I think sometimes when liberals seek to order it, they tell them it was named after the famous actress Sharon Stone.
But it is a hamburger with a fried egg on the top.
It is absolutely delicious.
Now, many people used to go to J.G.
Mellon's and thought that was the best burger in town.
Others went to P.J.
Clark's.
Also turns out a great burger.
But in all honesty, the best burger any place on the planet.
Is at the legendary Beach Cafe at 1326 2nd Avenue in New York, New York.
Jason of McAllen, Texas asks, why would Donald Trump not debate in the Fox Republican debate tonight?
I guess my view, Jason, is that he has everything to lose and nothing whatsoever to gain.
It is ironic that on the eve of the Fox debates, Donald Trump has actually hit his all-time high watermark in terms of the levels of support within the Republican Party.
And therefore, why make yourself a target for a bunch of candidates who are barely breaking single digits?
I should say double digits.
There's no clear frontrunner in the field.
Also is the fact that Fox, which is clearly hostile to President Trump, is the sponsor.
If you watched his interview with Bret Baier several weeks ago, every single question is hostile.
Now it appears that Rupert Murdoch, who is 92 years old, owner of the News Corporation, owner of Fox TV Network, owner of the Wall Street Journal, owner of the New York Post, has done everything humanly possible to promote Florida Governor Ron DeSantis as a viable presidential candidate.
Unfortunately, that has not worked for a number of reasons.
First and foremost, there is no underlying rationale for the candidacy of Ron DeSantis.
Ron DeSantis is not a younger version of Donald Trump when the current version of Donald Trump is vital, energetic, and I would argue, probably in the best fighting shape of his life.
Donald Trump is best in crisis.
Media reports that his health is bad.
That is fake news.
I can tell you that firsthand.
Those stories seem to be pushed by some of the online advocates for Ron DeSantis.
So the president would be a target if he attended.
It would be six on one conceivably.
He could get no moderation from the moderator.
I see him as being in such a commanding position.
That he could only lose ground.
Why give an open shot to a madman like Chris Christie?
Who's made it very very clear that the only reason he's running is an attempt to take down Donald Trump.
Motivated by revenge or hatred or the fact that he never got a cabinet job.
Who knows what motivates him or perhaps it's just Jealousy, but he's the only guy who I've ever seen who got the lap band surgery and seems to have lost no weight.
So I think the president has made a good decision.
But even more brilliant is the decision of counter programming by going to do an interview with Tucker Carlson.
Now this is, as I pointed out at the top, Donald Trump's historic return Twitter, now known as X. There's a lot of complaints about the current operations of X. I am not among the complainers.
I'm grateful to be reinstated.
I'm grateful to have that platform.
Not every single thing that I tweet gets thousands of likes and thousands of reposts, but many do.
And if you are counting on X, To provide all of your income to make a living, that's probably not a good decision.
Anyway, I will be tuned in tonight, but I'm copacetic with the President's decision not to debate.
And the fact that the President's spokespeople, specifically Kimberly Guilfoyle, Donald Trump Jr., friends of mine, are barred from the media room after the debate.
Kind of loses sight of the fact that President Donald Trump almost single-handedly has raised literally millions, tens of millions, hundreds of millions of dollars for the Republican National Committee.
Jason, thank you very much for your question.
I see where you said you were exonerated from your conviction during the Mueller investigation.
Can you please explain to me what you mean?
Yes, I'm happy to because no one in the mainstream media wants to report this.
On November 3rd of 2020, which is the last presidential election, at midnight, a very strange time to put out a press release, based on orders from a federal judge, the Department of Justice was forced to release the last remaining long redacted sections of Robert Mueller's
Final report in which even he could not sugarcoat that he had found quote no factual basis close quote for which to prosecute me for Russian collusion collaboration with WikiLeaks or any other crime.
Now you would know that if you attended my trial where there was largely a media blackout and most Americans don't even know what it is that I was convicted of had something to do with the Russians.
Well, no, actually it didn't.
But that is proof that there was no Russian collusion.
In other words, when I testified voluntarily before the House Intelligence Committee, I had no motive to lie.
The judge says I covered up for Donald Trump.
Covered up what?
The Russian collusion?
There was no Russian collusion.
The collaboration or materials that came from WikiLeaks?
There were no materials that came from WikiLeaks.
So, yes, it was only Strangely enough, BuzzFeed, may they rest in peace, who wrote that I was exonerated.
The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal, and the rest of the legacy fake-ass media, those jackals have ignored this story.
But it's very tough.
To go into a drugstore and have someone scream at you that you're a Russian traitor means they never saw the truth regarding my persecution.
Thank you Andrew very much for your question.
Esteban of Pensacola, Florida said, I read very shortly after your pardon that your wife was diagnosed with very aggressive stage 4 cancer.
How is she doing and how Can we help?
That's a very kind question.
I'm going to watch the debate with Mrs. Stone.
We're going to watch the debate and we're going to watch President Donald Trump with Tucker Carlson tonight.
She's doing extraordinarily well.
She used a combination of more traditional Western medicine, but a number of important alternative healing therapies, which included vitamin infusions.
Peptides and other, I think, things that allowed her to now be over two years cancer free.
Those who wish to help can go to StoneFamilyFund.com for ongoing medical expenses.
Many of them are not covered by insurance.
We would welcome your help, but more important than any of that, we welcome your prayers.
Here's a question from Sam, who is in Sarasota, Florida, who says, I voted for Ron DeSantis.
Why do you think his candidacy has apparently tanked?
Well, it is very important to recognize the vital importance of setting expectation levels at the beginning of any campaign.
I'll give you the best possible example.
In 1976, Governor Ronald Reagan challenged the sitting but not elected president, Gerald Ford.
Ford, as an incumbent Republican president, was at least on paper the favorite, but because he had never been elected to either the presidency or the vice presidency, he was a relatively weak incumbent.
Reagan challenged him specifically on his neocon foreign policy.
Uh, his secretary of state was of course, Henry Kissinger, also known as Dr. Evil.
Uh, when we went to the New Hampshire primary, uh, Reagan got 49%, uh, Ford got 51%.
Uh, but that was considered a win by Ford and a loss by Reagan.
Because Reagan and his campaign had allowed the expectation levels to get out of control.
Contrast that with 1964 when Senator Eugene McCarthy, a left-wing anti-Vietnam War Democrat, challenged President Lyndon Johnson in the New Hampshire primary.
Johnson's name actually never appeared on the ballot.
The governor of the state appeared as a stand-in for Johnson, but he handily won the nomination, but McCarthy cracked 40%.
In other words, McCarthy lost, but his loss was considered a win because the expectation level for him was so low.
Ron DeSantis, I think, has badly misgaged this entire presidential campaign.
First of all, I think that he miscalculated voter reaction to knowledge of the role that President Donald Trump played in his rise to be a national figure.
It is a simple truth that without the endorsement of Donald Trump in 2018 in the Republican primary, Ron DeSantis would have never been nominated.
Had he never been nominated and had Donald Trump not come to Florida, Uh, for three rallies in the last two weeks to drag him across the finish line.
Um, he would never have become governor.
Uh, Republicans do believe in hegemony.
We do believe in waiting your term.
Uh, so when Ron DeSantis was declared de-future, as I think the New York Post, uh, called him, I think it was based on a, uh, an incorrect judgment that when the law fair, whether it was the documents case,
Or the Washington DC January 6th case or these New York business records case which should be a civil case but has somehow become a criminal case were filed that Trump's support would collapse and that Ron DeSantis would be standing there ready to scoop it up.
None of that has happened as you know and therefore I believe his entire campaign was based on a false premise.
Then additionally, I think there is a necessary likability factor in politics, and Ron DeSantis turns out not to be a very likable fellow.
He is aloof, he is cold, he doesn't seem to be comfortable in his own skin, he is socially awkward, has a hard time making a small talk with people, doesn't seem seems to look like people are bothering him.
Contrast this with Donald Trump who gets his strength from people.
So I don't think that Ron DeSantis was up to big league pitching.
And now in all honesty as a resident of Florida, I really wish he would come back to the state and do the job that only several months ago we elected him to do.
This state has an extraordinary insurance crisis, specifically, but not exclusively, a home insurance crisis.
If Florida is so unfortunate as to be hit by a hurricane, the state's citizens insurance company is insolvent and most of the large home insurance writers have left the state.
So this is an extraordinary crisis and even today home insurance companies are refusing to pay anything but pennies on the dollar when it comes to the damages left by the last hurricane.
The head of the State Ethics Commission, appointed by Governor Ron DeSantis, has just resigned in an ethics scandal.
We have a malaria outbreak in the state.
We have skyrocketing utility prices with the cost of electricity going up on average 22% in a state with fixed income.
A state of senior citizens with fixed income.
So the governor's unfavorable rating is rising dramatically here in the state of Florida while he spends his time in Florida, pardon me, in Iowa and New Hampshire.
Now, in terms of the future, he obviously has moved all of his resources to the Iowa caucuses where he hopes to have a breakthrough.
I just remind you of history.
Senator Ted Cruz won the Iowa caucuses, went on to go get clobbered by Donald Trump in New Hampshire.
And although he hung on for a while, Trump wrested the nomination from him.
That's even after he got the combined support of the Bush family and left-wing Republican John Kasich, who I'm so old, I remember when he was considered a conservative.
Uh, it is also true that George H.W.
Bush won the Iowa caucuses, only to get clobbered in New Hampshire by Ronald Reagan.
He too hung on for a while, but whoever does the budgeting for Ron DeSantis' campaign has not planned for the long term.
By that, I mean the Trump campaign is funded.
By a mass base of thousands and thousands of low dollar and middle dollar contributors who can give again and again.
Whereas the DeSantis campaign is fueled by billionaires, millionaires and bundlers who many cases have either maxed out and cannot give anymore or who are turned off by the downward trajectory of the DeSantis campaign.
So, I really think that the governor is in a no-win position.
At this juncture, if he were smart, he would throw in the towel, return to Florida, beg for forgiveness to the man who made him a national political figure, and focus on doing the job he was elected to.
Some people don't realize this, but the governor is term limited.
He cannot run for another term.
His current term runs out in 2026.
He had the law specifically changed so that he could remain as governor while running for president.
He's the only state elected official who's able to run for federal office without a requirement that they first resign.
I find it extraordinarily suspicious The days after the Assembly here, the House of Representatives approved that measure, he transferred $1 million to a newly created PAC controlled by the Speaker of the House.
My good friend Laura Loomer, a ball of energy, has called that bribery.
I agree with that analysis.
One final question.
This is, this is Geraldo, who is in, who's I guess in Staten Island, who says, I keep hearing you got a sweetheart deal on your taxes while they are really busting Hunter Biden.
What's the story?
I appreciate this question very much.
My wife and I owe from our 2006 taxes.
Hunter Biden's lawyers filed a brief with the court in his trial or in his plea negotiations, which they said Roger Stone failed to pay taxes for two years and was allowed to settle the matter civilly.
That is entirely false.
One year in dispute is 2006.
I filed entirely honest tax returns.
I've never failed.
My wife and I filed jointly.
I've never failed to declare a single penny of income, nor have I ever hidden any asset.
I made eight years of monthly payments to pay that down.
Today my tax debt is two million dollars and this is key.
Three quarters of that is interest in penalties.
Interest in penalties which the IRS refuses to negotiate down.
But the idea that I evaded taxes or failed to pay taxes I paid eight years of taxes until I was literally driven to the verge of bankruptcy by the Mueller witch hunt.
So I didn't get a sweet deal.
I didn't get anything off my tax bill.
I am current for every year from 2006 to the current time.
But here's the most important thing.
Every penny I have earned, I earned honestly.
I did not earn it through extortion.
I didn't earn it through bribery.
I didn't own it through money laundering.
I didn't own it through racketeering.
I didn't earn it through influence peddling.
I didn't earn it through illegal lobbying.
And I assure you that I never got any multi-million dollar wires from China.
Russia, Ukraine, or Romania.
Apples and oranges.
This is a very, very common smear on Twitter.
But in all honesty, Hunter Biden's lawyers defrauded the court in Delaware when they told him that I did not pay taxes for two years and was allowed to resolve the matter civilly.
That is not an accurate description whatsoever of the way this matter was settled.
All right, we are out of town, out of time.
