ASK STONE - The StoneZONE with Roger Stone
| Copy link to current segment

Time Text
And now, Lindell TV brings you The Stone Zone, with legendary Republican strategist and political icon and pundit, Roger Stone.
Stone has served as a senior campaign aide to three Republican presidents.
He is a New York Times bestselling author and a longtime friend and advisor of President Donald Trump.
As an outspoken libertarian, Stone has appeared on thousands of broadcasts, spoken at countless venues, and lectured before the prestigious Oxford Political Union and the Cambridge Union Society.
Due to his four-plus decades in the political and cultural arena, Stone has become a pop culture icon.
And now, here's your host, Roger Stone!
And welcome.
I'm Roger Stone, and you are about to enter the Stone Zone.
This is, of course, the weekend of the Conservative Political Action Conference in Washington, D.C., or actually in the Washington outskirts, which has been one of the most important seminal gatherings of Republicans going all the way back to the seventies.
When Ronald Reagan spoke there, I was there.
When Donald Trump spoke there in 2012, I was there.
In fact, Trump's appearance at CPAC was one of the catalysts For his ultimate presidential candidacy in 2016.
But because CPAC is going on, many of the folks that I wanted to have join us today as guests are otherwise engaged, so we're going to do a round robin of Ask Stone for today's program.
This is where our listeners and viewers get to ask me questions on any topic, whether it is news, history, politics, culture, art, food, fashion, you name it, movies, whatever it may be.
There's two ways that you can send us your questions.
One is by sending them to AskStone at StoneZone.com.
That's askstone at stonezone.com or you can also send your questions to askstone at powerchat.live slash stone.
Now if you make a contribution we will move your question up in the queue but we try to get to everyone's questions in the time that we have.
I do want to thank a regular of ours, a Smeagol fan, who's been a strong supporter of the Stone Zone, often has provocative questions, and made a generous contribution today.
God bless you, my brother.
The first question comes from Terry in Dayton, Ohio, who asks, I saw on Twitter that your granddaughter and your great-grandson live close to the site of the toxic spill in East Palestine, Ohio.
How are they doing?
Thank you very much for your questions.
Very thoughtful.
Yes, it is true that my eldest granddaughter and her son, my only great-grandson, live roughly 52 miles from the site of what was perhaps one of the worst environmental catastrophes in American history.
Now, the state and the federal government continue to insist that both the water is safe to drink and that the air is safe to breathe.
I'm sorry, but I don't believe that.
In the case of my own great-grandson, who I love dearly, he is suffering from rashes, fever, and diarrhea, now going into the second week.
We don't know what the long-term effect of this toxic spill is.
The doctors say he's merely suffering from a stomach virus, but then they say they have seen a record number of people with this same stomach virus in the geographic area close to East Palestine, Ohio.
So for the many people who have texted me and emailed me with their prayers for my family, I thank you for your prayers.
We will keep you posted on their progress.
But I did read a report by the Ohio State Fish and Wildlife Department that indicated that 48,000 fish had died.
If the water is safe, what is killing the fish.
My own granddaughter told me that there was an almost immediate rain after the toxic plume went up and that everything was covered with a dark, thick silt, which they describe as snow-related, which they describe as snow-related, had nothing to do with snow or salt.
I think this is an imminently dangerous situation.
We saw the head of the Environmental Protection Agency appointed by Joe Biden saying that he would not let his own children drink the water.
Folks, please pray for the good people of East Palestine, Ohio, and the area where the people are going to be.
Within a hundred mile radius.
I was speaking to somebody in upstate New York this morning.
They're actually getting the fumes there, the fallout there.
So I think that the story is not written, but the Russian government was more forthcoming about the Chernobyl nuclear reactor accident than our government has been.
And then there's the obvious question, folks.
Where is President Joe Biden?
Why has he not visited?
This is the role of a leader.
This is a role of a president to give the people comfort, to give the people bold leadership.
On this particular question, Joe Biden is missing in action.
Thank you very much for your question.
Sanders from Power Chat says, Mr. Stone, do you think it is possible that Governor DeSantis will not run for president in this cycle?
No, I don't think that's possible.
I think that that decision has been made.
It is a free country.
Governor DeSantis has every right to run if he chooses to do so.
But those who continue to assault me on Twitter or Truth Social or Gab or even Telegram saying that I'm dividing us at a time that Governor DeSantis is not even a candidate, I assure you that he is going to be a candidate.
If you saw the Stone Zone yesterday, I thought we did a fairly dispassionate breakdown of both the pluses and the minuses.
Of his candidacy.
I also think I gave a fairly honest and concise assessment of the pluses and the minuses of the candidacy of President Donald Trump.
Polling is temporary.
There's no question about that.
But the polling taken over a long period of time using the same methodology and by the same pollsters, whether it is Harvard Harris, whether it is whether it is
The real America, pardon me, the real clear politics average, whether it is the Emerson polling, shows that President Trump's lead has not only continued in place, but it is actually gained after his trip to Ohio.
So I think tackling Donald Trump will be a high mountain to climb.
We've already seen Governor DeSantis yesterday attempt to finesse his position on the war in Ukraine.
In an interview with the Times of London, I asked about his position on the war.
He attempted to skirt the issue.
That is not going to work.
We know that as a Member of Congress.
He was a strong supporter of the of the coup in Ukraine.
We know that he supported weapons for Ukraine, but where does he stand today?
This is going to be an absolutely crucial issue in the upcoming election.
Sanders, thank you very much for your question.
Barry from Coscob Connecticut asks, isn't the easiest way to solve this with a Trump DeSantis ticket?
I get this question all the time.
I've answered it many times here on The Stone Zone, but let me walk through it again so people understand it.
The rules of the Electoral College, while they do not strictly prohibit a party from nominating two people who are legal residents of the same state,
They greatly discourage it because under that scenario, were the Republicans to nominate, let's say, President Trump and Governor DeSantis for President and Vice President, and they were to carry the state of Florida, which they surely would do, the 37 electoral votes of Florida would not be counted for the Republican ticket.
Given the fact, based on what I think is egregious Election fraud and real problems with a number of the electoral systems in states like Arizona, Georgia, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, and Michigan.
I think that our path to the presidency is so narrow as a party that we cannot afford to throw 37 electoral college votes out the window.
So once again, you cannot really have a Trump DeSantis ticket.
It is not legally prohibited, but it is essentially legally discouraged by the rules of the electoral college.
Here is a question from Nelson.
Who hails from Utica, New York.
Nelson wants to know whether, I'm not sure I understand your question, Nelson, let me be clear.
Let's come back to it.
Here's a question from Anthony Hirschman in Atlanta, Georgia, who says, Governor Ron DeSantis Went to Staten Island to talk about his strong support for law enforcement, yet I have read about a controversy regarding his appointment of Gregory Toney to the sheriff's office in Florida.
Can you explain this?
I saw you tweet about it.
Yes, I can.
There was a vacancy caused in the sheriff's office of the largest sheriff's office with the largest budget in the state of Florida when Governor Ron DeSantis relieved Democrat Sheriff Scott Israel in the aftermath of the Parkland shootings.
Thereupon, Governor DeSantis appointed a man named Gregory Toney, who had been a Coral Springs Police Department Sergeant to the most powerful sheriff's office in the state of Florida.
Subsequently, it was learned that Mr. Tony had not disclosed to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement or to the state that when he was a resident of Philadelphia, he had been tried and acquitted for both murder and drug dealing.
But he did have an obligation to tell Governor DeSantis that, and he has not done so.
Now, in the aftermath of this revelation, Mr. Tony switched parties from becoming a Republican to becoming a Democrat, ran for reelection, and has been reelected.
An investigation by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement and an investigation by the Public Ethics Commission of the state of Florida both confirmed that there were perjury problems and that Mr. Tony had lied when he was under consideration for this appointment.
But Governor DeSantis so far has failed to take action.
I'm not going to put words in the governor's mouth, but perhaps the governor believes that since Mr. Tony was subsequently overwhelmingly elected in an overwhelmingly Democratic county as a Democrat, that he should not remove him.
But that the governor has the legal authority to remove Sheriff Tony, there is no question.
We will keep an eye on this particular question.
Mike Leonard from Boise, Idaho says, This morning I read about a Florida Republican bill that would require bloggers to register with the state in order to criticize state government officials, including Governor Ron DeSantis.
Could this possibly be correct?
Yes, it blows my mind.
There is such a bill.
It's been introduced into the Florida legislature that says that if you were a blogger and you criticize not only the governor but essentially any elected official, you would have to register with the state.
And if you were being paid to blog, let's say it was an application, it was your job, let's say you worked for the Gateway Pundit or Revolver or I think it has a chilling effect on the First Amendment.
I think it is unconstitutional and I hope that it goes nowhere.
half, you would still have to register with the state, and you would also have to disclose how much you were being paid, if you were being paid.
I am opposed to this legislation.
I think it has a chilling effect on the First Amendment.
I think it is unconstitutional, and I hope that it goes nowhere.
All right, here's a question from Lola, or Lolita as she calls herself.
We're going to have a lot of Lolita 45 from Miami, Florida says, can we expect Ted Cruz to run for the White House?
And why does he dress like Steve Bannon?
Good question.
I do not think Ted Cruz is going to be a candidate for president.
I'm happy to have him in the Senate.
I did see him on a panel at CPAC yesterday and I wondered why he didn't wear a necktie and why he couldn't sit up straight.
There's no excuse for bad posture, as my grandmother would say.
But I will tell you this.
There is a candidate who will announce shortly.
That is former Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson.
He will be a candidate for president.
His campaign is in the works.
He comes from a distinguished family and the Republican Party in Arkansas.
And he will be a formidable candidate in a field that is not yet defined.
I do believe Uh, given Donald Trump's sizable and the intensity of his base, uh, that the more candidates in the race, the better for him.
Uh, and, uh, former Governor Hutchison, um, will enter the lists soon.
Uh, you heard it here first, folks.
Here's a question from Esteban De La Fuente from Tallahassee, Florida, who says, You're a Republican.
Why would you think it's a good idea to write a book criticizing the Bushes?
The Bushes were strong on China and gave us a strong military.
Wow.
Yes, I am the author of a book called The Bush Crime Family.
The Bush Crime Family.
You, I believe, can buy it at bushcrimefamily.com.
You can actually get a signed copy.
It is an extraordinary true story of privilege, Corruption, arming the Nazi war machine, pedophilia, assassination, adultery, looting of SNLs, unnecessary war.
It is quite a tone.
Now, I knew the Bush family and I was cordial with them in 1980 when I ran Ronald Reagan's campaign for President of the United States.
New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut.
It was really not until 2013 when I wrote my book, The Man Who Killed Kennedy, The Case Against LBJ, that I learned, for example, that Senator Prescott Bush, U.S.
Senator from my native state of Connecticut, George H.W.
Bush's father, was a partner in Brown Brothers Harriman, the investment bank, which essentially through their affiliate Union Bank financed the rearmament of Adolf Hitler's Nazi Germany.
I found the documents that document this and it is, those were available at the National Archive.
It is amazing that after my book was published, also another author wrote an additional book, that those documents disappeared.
Fortunately, we kept copies of them.
If you're interested, you can go to BushCrimeFamilyBook.com.
I stand corrected.
BushCrimeFamilyBook.com.
And you can also go to StoneZone.com.
And go to the store, you can get a copy there as well.
But in either place, you can get a signed copy of the Bush crime family.
If you're into politics, if you're into history, if you weren't crazy about the war and our response to 9-11, if you want to know more about the role of George H.W.
Bush in the assassination of President Kennedy, if you want to know about Jeb Bush's past as a drug dealer.
If you want to know about the CIA's role in drug trafficking during the time that George H.W.
Bush was vice president and the head of a task force overseeing that, it's all there in the Bush crime family.
Again, bushcrimefamilybook.com.
I urge you to check it out.
Thank you very much.
Let's see, we're going back to our questions.
I'll remind you, if you have questions, you can send them to us at AskStone at StoneZone.com.
There it is, AskStone at StoneZone.com.
Or you can send them to us at Ask Stone at powerchat.live slash Stone.
And if you make a contribution to the Stone Zone, well, we will put a priority on your question.
But whether your question has to do with news, politics, Culture, history, style, food, nothing is really off the table.
So please send us your questions so we can have a vibrant show.
Here's a question from Nelson in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Nelson says, I'm a big fan of Alex Jones.
I remember when you used to be on InfoWars.
How is Alex Jones doing?
Well, I'm also a big fan of Alex Jones.
Doesn't mean we agree on everything.
He has said so.
I've said so.
But my years of broadcasting at the War Room at InfoWars.com are some of the Happiest of my entire life.
And let's face it, Alex Jones has turned out to be more right than he has wrong about many, many important issues.
Now, I am perplexed at how he can be held responsible for his opinion under the First Amendment, whether I agree with that opinion regarding Sandy Hook or whether I don't.
And I don't.
And I've never commented on the issue, quite frankly, but I do think he's being persecuted for other issues.
The thing to understand about Alex Jones is he's a warrior.
He never complains.
I've never heard him complain.
He is a fighter who will continue to do some of the best broadcasting I think he's ever done.
I told one of his senior producers yesterday I thought their content was better than ever.
And so the real answer is Alex Jones is doing fine, and I will pass your regards on to him.
Thank you very much for your question.
George West from El Paso, Texas asks, do you think Trump will announce that his next National Security Advisor, if elected in 2024, will be General Michael Flynn?
That would certainly be an excellent choice, but perhaps the president wants General Flynn to head the Central Intelligence Agency.
Or if my friend Kash Patel is appointed to that job, which I also think would be a great fit, perhaps General Flynn is the man to clean up the FBI.
I.
There's a number of key roles where I think General Flynn could serve his country.
I've said on many occasions and in many speeches that I think that General Flynn's greatest public service still lies ahead.
Thank you, George, for an excellent question.
Here is a question from Randall Toffer, who is from San Diego, who says, My fiancé and I are going to be visiting New York City.
Can you recommend a good place to eat?
Excellent question.
Let me recommend to you the Beach Cafe.
The Beach Cafe is an American-style restaurant.
It is informal.
It is at 2nd Avenue and 70, 71st, 72nd Street.
Pardon me.
70th Street and 2nd Avenue.
Thank you from my producer here.
And when you go there, let me recommend the Stone Burger.
That is a cheeseburger that includes a fried egg.
It is very, very popular.
It's one of the most popular items on the menu.
So, The Beach Cafe, 70th Avenue, 70th Street, and 2nd Avenue in New York City.
Tell the proprietor, Dave, that Roger Stone sent you.

Or at the products that we sell here as our sponsors.
Let me go back now.
First let me tell you that evidently Cozy.TV is down and therefore the Power Chat questions are down.
So if you have a question, you should send it to AskStone at StoneZone.com.
That's AskStone at StoneZone.com and we will try to get to your question as ordered.
Let's go back to the question bag now and see what we have.
Caitlin from Cambridge, Massachusetts says, I saw you on a podcast the other day with your friend, Officer Sal Greco.
Who was a New York City police officer for 14 years.
I heard that your friend Mr. Greco was terminated by the New York City Police Department solely because of his association with you on the basis that even after your full presidential pardon, you are considered a convicted felon, which violates the Patrol Guide Procedure Manual.
Did I not see that Cardi B, who is not only a convicted criminal, but a gang member, was actually essentially entertaining at a police academy function in New York City only days ago?
Why do the rules regarding police officials associating with Cardi B be any different than those rules which allegedly prohibit Mr. Greco from associating with you?
A little bit of a tongue twister there.
Thank you for your question.
It's a very legitimate one.
I was on a great podcast the other day to talk about this.
Look, Officer Sal Greco has a 14 unblemished year record of service to the people of New York, who has never had any issues in his public service, who was often assigned some of the most dangerous precincts in the city of New York for the graveyard shift.
And despite the fact that he loved his job and had an unblemished record, he was terminated by the City of New York, which means he lost his pension and he leaves as a police officer not in good standing, meaning he cannot find work as a police officer in another jurisdiction outside of New York.
The reason for this, as you point out, is the allegation that his association, just a friendship with me, prohibits his continued employment by the New York City Police Department.
How then do they justify, first of all, the fact that Mayor Eric Adams, the current mayor of New York, who when he was a New York City police captain, provided personal security for Louis Farrakhan and Mike Tyson, both of them convicted felons.
Was brought up on the same charge of violating the patrol guide procedures and had his vacation time docked by 15 days.
How do you square that with the fact that Cardi B, who has made a number of rap songs calling for the murder of police, whose conduct is detrimental to police, who is without any question also a convicted felon, and who actually was a gang member, is allowed to fraternize at the inner sanctums of the Police Academy of the City of New York.
Did Mayor Adams know about and approve this?
Did the police commissioner know about and approve this?
So all of these matters are going to be adjudicated in court.
Officer Greco, who's been on Stone's Own with us a couple times, has filed an amended complaint Points out the illegal contacts between Cardi B and New York City officials and we have to hope for justice in his case.
If you want to help Officer Greco, you can do that by going to helpthisnycop.com and we can grab that graphic if we can.
Help this NYCOP.com because, folks, lawyers are incredibly expensive.
Incredibly expensive.
And Sal Greco cannot work as a New York police officer unless he gets his good name and his pension that he paid into for 14 years back.
It is a matter of simple justice.
I thank you very much for your question.
This is a case that we are going to be following.
The other sponsor here that I want to talk about are the folks at MyPatriotCigars.com.
While we get that video ready for you, let me tell you once again why I need you to go to MyPillow.com.
MyPillow.com is, of course, the company of Mike Lindell, the country's leading proponent of free speech and election integrity.
And when it comes to business, Mike Lindell is a tyrant.
By that I mean he will not sell any product, whether it's sheets, or towels, or pillows, or men and women's leisure wear, or any other product, unless he has fully tested it, knows it to be the best of the best, both durable, comfortable, and a good value for the money.
So right now at MyPillow.com, the product I really think you want to get is what Mike Lindell calls the greatest pillow of all time.
The greatest pillow in history.
That is the Pillow 2.0.
Now what's different about this pillow?
This pillow has a special cooling technology.
Uh, which is, uh, which prevents that need to keep flipping the pillow over to get the cooler side.
Uh, this is, uh, gonna guarantee you the best night's sleep you have ever had.
and the MyPillow 2.0 with promo code STONE is a mere $89.98, but not really because if you buy under this special your Pillow 2.0 now and you use promo but not really because if you buy under this special your Pillow 2.0 now and you use promo code STONE, Mike Lindell will throw a second So this is a bargain you don't want to pass up on.
and I strongly recommend it to you.
Let's hit some of our other great products there because it is the first of the month and Mrs Stone has to pay bills and therefore I've got to earn your support at MyPillow.com Yes, having gone through two years of the Mueller witch hunt, our finances are that tight, and we really do need your loyal support at MyPillow.com.
People who know the story of my bogus prosecution know that we lost our home, our insurance, most of it, our car, our savings, my ability to make a living.
We essentially lost everything and now we're in the process of rebuilding our physical and our financial health.
So therefore, your support at MyPillow.com is very greatly appreciated.

You see the sizes.
I have them in both the brown and the black.
They're incredibly comfortable and incredibly durable.
I recommend them to you.
And then of course there is the six-piece towel set.
This is a standout product for a reason that Mike Lindell told me, which is that the bath towels that you buy in the department stores are treated with an oil that makes the cotton more durable, but much, much less absorbent.
You can get the six-piece towel set, which is normally $99.98 but it will cost you at Promo Code Stone a low $49.99.

Buying a cigar today is, of course, politically incorrect, so I hope that you will enjoy yours.
Thank you so much.
Let's go back to our question bag here, if we can.
Here's one that's kind of obvious.
This is a question from Ben from Illinois.
Uh, who says, I see that you are wearing a bowtie.
Do you have any guidelines for gentlemen who want to wear a bowtie?
Yes, actually, I do.
I do occasionally affect a bowtie.
In all cases, I have tied my own bowtie.
Would you tie exactly the same way that you tie your shoes?
Here are the rules.
First of all, if you're a corpulent gentleman, if you're a more heavy set, then the bow tie is probably not for you.
The longer forehand tie draws away from your face.
and will make you look somewhat thinner.
The bow tie is not recommended.
The two things you need to know about bow ties is clip-on bow ties are never acceptable under any circumstances whatsoever.
Among other things, they lay flat and they are too perfect.
The other thing you should know is that there are bow ties that come with a band and a fastener in the back.
These can be acceptable if they are of high quality.
But when I tie my bow tie, I always want it to be very, very slightly imperfect.
So you can see that I actually tied it.
It's kind of a small fashion tip that I pass on to you.
But it is also true that in studies conducted by Reader's Digest in the 1970s, that people are less likely to trust individuals in a bow tie.
This was conducted as part of an advertising study Maybe they associate them with aluminum siding salesmen, but it is really up to you.
Winston Churchill wore a bowtie.
Tucker Carlson, for many years, wore a bowtie.
George Will, the famous conservative columnist, wore a bowtie.
It can be a very good look.
Here's some news from John in Austin, Texas, who says this is breaking.
General Michael Flynn has filed a $50 million malicious prosecution and gross abuse of power lawsuit against the U.S.
government, the Department of Justice, and the FBI.
What are your thoughts on this lawsuit?
Well, first of all, I can't comment About a lawsuit that I have not read.
I am, of course, sympathetic to General Michael Flynn, who has become a good friend, who I think is one of the finest men I've ever met in my entire life.
Perhaps the only one more abused in the Russian collusion hoax than I was.
And therefore, I pray for his success.
I have always been under the impression that the Department of Justice, the FBI, and the U.S.
government are immune from lawsuit, but I'm not certain that that is correct, and therefore I'm not saying it in any way to be critical of General Flynn or his lawyers.
But this is important and interesting breaking news, and I appreciate your sending it to us.
Again, folks, go to MyPillow.com.
We're going to show you my promo code to remind you that we really do need your support.
So whether it is the scarves, or the blankets, or the Giza Dream Sheets, or the six-piece towel set,
Or the men's slippers, or the women's slippers, or the men's and women's leisure wear, or whether it is the bathrobes, or the moccasins, or the winter scarves, whether it is the dog beds that I've talked about extensively here on the show, or the pet blankets, your loyal support
Particularly at this time of the month is greatly appreciated at StoneZone.com.
Please go to MyPillow.com and use promo code STONE when you do your shopping there.
Let's go back to the question bag.
Robert Finkel from Key West, Florida says, What the hell is this?
I have read that if Florida House Bill 269 is passed, a person who makes fun of another person's clothing, if that is considered an ethnic or religious insult, can be arrested and charged with a third-degree felony and hate crime.
Why would Governor DeSantis allow this?
I read about this this morning.
First of all, in all fairness, we don't know that Governor DeSantis does allow this or that he supports this.
It is a bill sponsored by one member of the House, as I understand it.
I just don't know who the arbiter would be.
In other words, if they can arrest you for posting a tweet in which you criticize someone's clothes, well, come and get me.
I'm pretty opinionated about the way people dress.
Matters sartorial.
On the other hand, if you made fun of someone who would say wearing a yarmulke because they're of the Jewish faith, I do think that's repugnant, but I don't know whether it would fall within the, pardon me, the First Amendment.
I really think this proposed legislation is unconstitutional, and we will keep you up to date on it.
Here's a question from Angeline Stewart from San Jose, California, who says, I remember reading that your wife, who I believe is Cuban American, was diagnosed with stage four cancer after your pardon.
How is she doing?
And please let me let her know.
I am praying for her.
That's a very kind question.
And I appreciate it.
Mrs. Stone is now I guess we're now 20 months in remission with her cancer.
She's living a very healthy and sedate lifestyle.
Stress is very bad for you in these situations.
She's doing extraordinarily well.
She's a very spiritual person.
And we thank Jesus Christ for her continued good health.
And it appears that she has Beaten cancer, but that does not mean that we do not need your prayers because we do.
I should have mentioned earlier, I'm going to say it now.

Here's a question from Ellen in Boca Raton, Florida, who asks, is the food at Mar-a-Lago really as good as I have read it is?
You know, the answer is absolutely.
So, Mar-a-Lago was the palatial home of Meriwether Post, was a very wealthy woman who was the heiress to the Post's serial fortune.
It was originally built as her private residence.
It is an elaborate Spanish style structure built in the 1920s.
It has an enormous amount of artisanship and handwork.
It is truly a phenomenal private residence.
President Donald Trump acquired it after Mary Weather Post left the Mar-a-Lago property and deeded it to the U.S. Constitution.
government with the thought that the president, at the time President Richard Nixon, would use it as a southern White House.
because Nixon had a much more modest dwelling in Key Biscayne, Florida, that would never happen.
And the government ultimately decided to auction Mar-a-Lago off after it had been closed for 15 years.
I actually had the privilege of walking through the property with then real estate mogul and pre-political Donald J. Trump, where he had the vision to see what the property, if fully restored, where he had the vision to see what the property, if fully restored, at a great cost, could
I believe in the end that Donald Trump first bought the beachfront property in front of the Mar-a-Lago estate and therefore owning the estate became much less interesting to any other possible bidders since Donald Trump owned the beach frontage on the Atlantic Ocean and then I believe he subsequently paid five million dollars
for the 35 acres and the home.
It has been restored.
So it now serves both as a private residence for the former president.
It also serves as his office space, but more precisely, it is a private club.
And I think membership now, I believe membership dues could be as high as $1 million a year.
I remember the days when it was $250,000 a year.
Now, the food is absolutely amazing.
If you ask the president what he would recommend, well, he would recommend the meatloaf.
It is his mother Mary's recipe.
It is really extraordinary.
Had the opportunity to dine there last Thursday night with some friends.
I saw the President briefly.
He was in excellent, excellent spirits.
He just had a very successful fundraiser for one of his political action committees.
It is an extraordinary, extraordinary experience.
The food is terrific, the service is terrific, but the architecture is phenomenal.
There is a book on this which you can look up, mostly a picture book, but very, very much worth your time.
Thank you for your question about Mar-a-Lago.
Here's a question from Eric in Boise, Idaho wants to know, if Robert Kennedy had lived, would he have defeated Richard Nixon for the presidency in 1968?
I say the answer is yes.
Eric, I'm afraid to tell you that the answer is no.
First of all, it's important to recognize that in their razor-thin election in 1960, that John Kennedy was only able to beat Richard Nixon by carrying Texas, Mississippi, and Louisiana, as well as Georgia.
By 1968, you had a more fulsome realignment of the Republican Party, and Robert Kennedy was a much more polarizing figure than his brother John Kennedy.
John Kennedy was an ardent anti-communist, as was Robert Kennedy, but by 1968, Robert Kennedy, as an opponent to the Vietnam War, was a much more polarizing figure.
Had Richard Nixon and Robert Kennedy clashed in the 1968 election, I would submit to you that Robert Kennedy could not have carried Georgia, Mississippi, Louisiana, or Texas, all of which went to John Kennedy, and therefore would not have defeated Richard Nixon for president.
So there is the answer to your question.
Here's a question from Mark from Des Plaines, Illinois, who asks, do you believe that President John Kennedy would have ended the Vietnam War and that this was the reason that he was murdered?
I actually don't think that is the case.
That has become the lore of Camelot, if you will.
But in an oral history, after the death of his brother, Robert Kennedy, who opposed the war, said that there was never any plan by President John F. Kennedy to end the Vietnam War.
That is, of course, at odds with the terrific movie by Oliver Stone, JFK, which we've discussed here substantially on the show.
So, I really think that the murder of Kennedy had more to do with the failed Bay of Pigs invasion.
It also had to do more with the Cuban Missile Crisis.
The truth about the Cuban Missile Crisis, which many people still do not know, is that the fiction that Robert and John Kennedy had bravely faced down Russian leader Nikita Khrushchev, who removed the American missiles that he put in Cuba 90 miles from our shore, and what we now know,
Based on declassified documents is the Kennedy brothers made a secret deal to remove our missiles from both Italy and Turkey, changing the balance of power in the European theater in return for a pledge from Russian leader Khrushchev to remove our missiles from Cuba.
A pledge which, by the way, contained no on-site inspections.
Thank you for your question.
Last question of the day comes from Anthony of Boston, Massachusetts, who says, I read that you are writing another book on the attempted assassination of Ronald Reagan, and that you have said that Vice President George Bush was responsible for the assassination attempt.
Is this true?
And when can we expect to see such a book, if it is true?
If you go to my book, The Bush Crime Family, which again you can order at BushCrimeFamilyBook.com, BushCrimeFamilyBook.com at the Stone Zone, you will find that I made a case in that book already that George Bush was deeply involved in the assassination attempt against Ronald Reagan.
I have since that time come up with additional information that would help to make this case much more compelling and airtight.
So yes, my next historical book when I finish writing about the two-year odyssey of fighting for my life in the framed job against me by Robert Mueller, because no, I am not a Russian traitor.
And no, as Robert Mueller's final report, which was finally wrenched out of the hands of the Justice Department by a federal judge, proved there was no evidence whatsoever tying me to Russian collusion.
WikiLeaks collaboration or any involvement in the phishing and publication of John Podesta's emails.
So if you're going on Twitter and you're calling me a traitor or a crook or telling me I belong in prison, the old Roger Stone would have argued with you.
The new Roger Stone will simply block you.
