| Disaster that is the leadership of California from Gavin Newsom to Karen Bass, the mayor of Los Angeles, and really across the board from the people they've hired, just mismanagement and the buck stops with nobody and the constant shell game. | ||
| Nobody knows who did what or when they did it or why they did it or anything else. | ||
| And the budget cuts that led to this and not taking care of the forests properly and making sure the brush was clear, all of these things. | ||
| So I was thinking a lot about Rudy because I lived in New York City. | ||

| And I know what competent leadership is in a time of crisis. | ||
| And as I always say, the quote from DeSantis, decline is a choice. | ||
| California has chosen to decline, but you don't have to choose that. | ||
| And you don't have to always be in decline. | ||

| And I thought that today would be a perfect day to bring on Rudy, compare and contrast what's going on in California with the way he led New York and what proper leadership. | ||

| He is a good communicator. | ||
| He's ready to go. | ||
| You know, this nonsense. | ||
| We are so past this nonsense about what people did in their personal lives years ago. | ||
| No one's defending anyone that... | ||
| If anyone cheated or anything else, I'm not even talking about headset here. | ||
| Everyone's got skeletons in their closet. | ||
| As long as you didn't do something highly illegal or something like that, that's not really what these confirmation hearings are supposed to be about. | ||
| The confirmation hearings are supposed to be about, are you qualified for the job? | ||
| What is your vision? | ||
| And will you help execute the mission that the president... | ||

| That's really all this is supposed to be about. | ||
| So you have these people, Tim Kaine, going on about the ex-wife. | ||
| And it's like, dude, you were campaigning with the Democrats, with Kamala Harris's husband, who cheated with the nanny, and Bill Clinton, who's a rapist, and all of this stuff. | ||
| Everyone's over that. | ||
| The nonsense about him being an alcoholic. | ||
| Also, there's just no evidence of it. | ||
| I think something like 18 of his Fox News colleagues have all come out saying that they've been working with him for over a decade and they've never seen him drunk. | ||
| I mentioned that a couple months ago, I was doing Gutfeld one night in New York City, and I was having dinner right next door to the studios at Del Frisco's, and I saw Pete sitting at the bar. | ||
| He was sitting alone at the bar eating dinner, and I walked up to him. | ||
| We chatted for a few minutes, and I offered to buy him a drink, and he's like, oh, I'm not drinking right now. | ||
| And it's like, how many people that are raging alcoholics would sit at a bar and not drink, right? | ||
| Of course, that's anecdotal, but you get it. | ||
| So everything they're doing is just for the show. | ||
| It's nonsense. | ||
| Beautiful moment there where he turns on Elizabeth Warren, who's just terrible. | ||

| It's almost over six years ago when they were trying to confirm Brett Kavanaugh as the Supreme Court Justice. | ||
| And if you remember, he was the biggest serial rapist of all time and he hates women and he's gonna... | ||
| And all of these things. | ||
| And it was all just absolute nonsense. | ||
| And I think Hegseth is a real threat to them. | ||
| Because of two things. | ||
| It's the competency and the ability to communicate, right? | ||
| This is a TV host who can communicate. | ||
| He can look in the camera and he can stand in front of the microphone and actually say something in a way that people are going to respond to. | ||
| Do we have an example of that? | ||
| Because everybody in this room knows if you're a rifleman and you lose your rifle, they're throwing the book at you. | ||
| But if you're a general who loses a war, you get a promotion. | ||
| That's not going to happen in Donald Trump's Pentagon. | ||
| There will be real standards for success. | ||
| Everyone from the top, from the most senior general to the most lowly private, will ensure that they're treated fairly, men and women, inside that system. | ||
| A small handful of anonymous sources were allowed to drive a smear campaign and agenda about me because our left-wing media in America today, sadly, doesn't care about the truth. | ||
| All they were out to do, Mr. Chairman, was to destroy me. | ||

| The idea that we're all sort of in this WWE thing right now, having these emotions about a largely scripted reality that's playing out in front of us every day. | ||

| But it does look like he will get confirmed. | ||

I asked Senator John Thune, who is the Republican leader, the majority leader, decides the schedule of the United States Senate. | |
| I asked him about Hexeth's nomination. | ||
| Thune has not said a ton about this nomination. | ||
| I said, does he have any concerns about these allegations of sexual assault that Hexeth has denied but came up in today's hearing about these allegations of misconduct and the like? | ||
| And he indicated he does not. | ||
| According to Thune, he said that that Hexeth acquitted himself extremely well and that he plans to move very quickly on this nomination. | ||
| And it is moving quickly. | ||
| We expect the Senate Armed Services Committee to have a vote as soon as Monday, inauguration day. | ||
| That is according to the chairman of the committee, Roger Wicker, who told me that he believes that he'll get the support of all Republicans and be able to push this through. | ||
| All right. | ||
| So it does look like he's getting through it. | ||
| It looks like virtually everybody is going to get through. | ||
| Obviously, Gates was the one that pulled out way back when. | ||
| No pun intended, but Gates obviously won't be part of the administration. | ||
| But everyone else, it looks like, pretty much will get through. | ||
| And again, these hearings are not supposed to be the dog and pony show they've become. | ||
| If you go back, and it really was, people don't believe it, but it really was. | ||
| It was Joe Biden, I think in 1988, during the Supreme Court hearings, that turned these things largely into the circus that they are. | ||
| They're not supposed to be a circus. | ||

| As we level up, and we get more competent governance, and we bring in better people to fix the institutions, and we get rid of some of the departments and all of these things, and as the mainstream media crumbles, there's so many things happening at once right now, right? | ||

| The Food and Drug Administration said Wednesday it's banning the use of Red No. | ||
| 3, a synthetic dye that gives food and drinks their bright red cherry color, but has been linked to cancer in animals. | ||
| The dye is still used in thousands of foods, including candy, cereals, cherries and fruit cocktails, and strawberry-flavored milkshakes, according to the Center for Science and Public Interest, a food safety advocacy group that petitioned the agency in 2022 to end its use. | ||
| The FDA's decision marks a victory for consumer advocacy groups and some U.S. lawmakers who have long urged the FDA to revoke the additive's approval, citing ample evidence that its use in beverages, dietary supplements, cereals, and candies may cause cancer as well as affect children's behavior. | ||
| At long last, the FDA is ending the regulatory paradox of Red 3 being illegal for use in lipstick but perfectly legal to feed children in the form of candy, said Dr. The FDA cannot authorize a food additive or color additive if it | ||

| I am particularly glad and appreciative that you came on on such short notice because obviously the whole country right now is focused on what's going on in California. | ||
| And I'm doing these stories about Gavin and these stories about Karen Bass and the incompetence and just the multi layers of failings of the California government. | ||
| And of course, that always stands in stark contrast to you and the way you ran New York City. | ||
| And I thought before I even let you chime in, I want to... | ||

| Tell me what is your philosophy of leadership? | ||
| So many people are admiring your leadership just now. | ||
| I think that you have to, I think there's a couple of things. | ||
| You have to lead by example. | ||
| You have to be honest. | ||
| You got to be willing to work as hard as the people that you're asking to work with you and not be removed from them. | ||
| I'm here on behalf of a very grateful and very admiring city to tell each and every one of you how proud we are of you and saying how proud we are of the innocent men and women who were going about their lives seeking their part of the | ||
| American dream when their lives were cut short by the act of cowardly terrorists and how proud we are of all of you who have come here to rescue them and return as many of them as we can to their loved ones. | ||
| Mr. Mayor, there are quite literally hours and hours, probably hundreds if not thousands of hours of speeches you gave, eulogies you gave, all of those things. | ||
| Everyone knows I was in New York City during 9-11 and amidst the chaos there was this one man leading us that kind of made it feel a little less terrible. | ||
| Can you talk a little bit about We've discussed this before, but if you could just talk a little bit about how you felt your role as the mayor in a crisis, what it should be, how some of your previous work experience led to that, and maybe contrast that a bit with what you're seeing now. | ||
| Well, I think the first thing is the performance that you're going to have. | ||
| How many mock drills have you had? | ||
| Particularly in a complicated place like California, where it's multi-jurisdictional. | ||
| In other words, in New York, I had one police department for 8 million people, 41,000 police officers, one fire department. | ||
| Here, as you know, Los Angeles is divided into a group of different cities, so they all have to work together, and they have to be Well coordinated. | ||
| I think that worked pretty well here. | ||
| But you don't see it. | ||
| Because of two things that are completely unexplainable and criminal in my view. | ||
| The fire hydrants didn't have water. | ||
| I've never heard of that. | ||
| I mean, I probably was involved in 500 fires in New York and we helped with 200 others. | ||
| I mean, maybe one fire hydrant. | ||
| But fire hydrants? | ||
| I mean, I was listening on the first day. | ||
| Like Caruso, the guy who ran, he's standing there with a fire. | ||
| The hydrant has no water in it. | ||
| And she leaves to go to Ghana, knowing there's going to be an emergency, leaving instructions behind, and never thinks to check the fire hydrants. | ||
| You regularly check fire hydrants, oh my goodness, at least once a month. | ||
| Firefighters do it for their own safety. | ||
| That's number one. | ||
| Number two is the overall lack of water in that area of the state, which is a deliberate decision of Gavin Newsom. | ||
| He actually restricts the amount of water there in order to save smelt fish, some kind of a plant that I never heard of, and other environmental voodoo. | ||
| As a result of that, I would guess you've got in that area half the water that you would need to fight really big fires. | ||

| But let me just throw to a video that addresses exactly one of the two things you just mentioned there regarding the hydrants and the reservoirs and how they were cutting water. | ||
| Here's Gavin Newsom basically blaming Elon and Trump for misinformation as it pertains to the reservoir, and then we'll show you the truth. | ||

What's not, I think, helpful or beneficial. | |
| It's a string of consciousness. | ||
| These wild-eyed fantasies that somehow the state water project, we have reservoirs that are at or near historic highs, full, completely full. | ||
| That somehow there's a magical spigot in California, in Northern California, that just can be turned on and all of a sudden there will be rain or water flowing everywhere. | ||
| It's not helpful. | ||
| It's damaging to the very foundation of the notion of what What are facts? | ||
| What are truths? | ||
| And the fact of that asymmetry, that's profound and consequential, amplified by people like, let's be candid, Elon Musk and others. | ||
| And that one-two punch is real. | ||
| And it's not just about this fire. | ||
| And as are here occurring forced winds of mis- and disinformation that can divide a country on a myriad of issues, this is serious. | ||
| Okay, so while he's blaming Trump and Elon for misinformation, he's actually sharing misinformation right there, because check out this community note, which was put on that very video right there via CBS News. | ||
| He just said the reservoirs were filled. | ||
| The reservoir near the Palisades Fire was in fact shut down and empty. | ||
| This is a fact, and you guys can check that link for yourself. | ||
| Governor, his ability, or Mr. Mayor, his ability to lie. | ||
| To just get up there and kick the can down the road and seemingly never take a bit of that look in the mirror and say, maybe I should have done some of this. | ||
| It's staggering, isn't it? | ||
| Yeah. | ||
| Take your breath away. | ||
| Particularly in the light of an emergency this big. | ||
| We're used to politicians lying. | ||
| I'm particularly used to him lying. | ||
| He lies all the time on small things, big things. | ||
| But there's a certain something that happens to you if you're a person of conscience when something bigger than you happens, like 9-11, for example. | ||
| And you realize no politics. | ||
| No room for it. | ||
| No room for lying. | ||
| This is no room for exaggerating. | ||
| I've got to be honest with people to get their trust so I can get the best out of this. | ||
| We're going to lose people. | ||
| Let's keep it the minimum. | ||
| By lying, this guy makes things much, much worse. | ||
| Even in the days that he had here, he could have gotten a lot more help from other states. | ||

| Can you talk a little bit about your philosophy when it came to being able to message publicly, but then have to also do the work to make sure that the people that had to fix things could do it? | ||
| Those are kind of two separate jobs. | ||
| I mean, first thing, what you said originally is very important. | ||
| You lose trust, you can't guide people through an emergency. | ||
| And he lost trust immediately. | ||
| So you've got to tell him the truth. | ||
| And second, where there is a mistake or a problem, you've got to fix it. | ||
| You've got to be on your way to fix it when you locate it. | ||
| So let's say you say a reservoir isn't full. | ||
| Well, you've got to be saying, well, I contacted Nevada, and I contacted Oregon, and I contacted the federal government, and they're bringing in water to make up for that. | ||
| Just don't say, oh, gee, we don't have a reservoir that has water in it in a place that every reservoir should be full to the brim. | ||
| When you have a problem, you have to have a solution when you explain the problem to the people. | ||
| So how did you decide, okay, I have to be able to message that properly and be honest with the people, but I also have to do the work of making sure that the proper people are doing the proper jobs? | ||
| Those seem like two different things. | ||
| There's one which is comforting people and communicating, and then there's one actually doing the work to make sure that the fire hydrants are filled, the reservoirs are filled, whatever you had to deal with, making sure that police and first responders during 9-11 were able to do their work. | ||
| We have to work 36 hours a day. | ||
| I mean, you have to stretch the day. | ||
| You also have to have a very good staff. | ||
| You're going to look, I mean, I would often say when people would praise me, I would say, gee, you know, I'm standing on the shoulder of giants here. | ||
| I mean, I know that my people were superb. | ||
| I knew what I could get out of them. | ||
| I knew if I told them, look, you've got to take care of the traffic routes because the ambulances are having a hard time getting in. | ||
| When I got in front of a camera two hours later, Rudy Washington was getting that done. | ||
| I didn't even have to go back and ask. | ||
| So it does mean having a very, very large group, a team that's worked with each other, trusts each other, and really works. | ||
| I mean, really, unfortunately, a lot of our governments, and I will say progressive democratic governments, are made up of people who don't do any work. | ||
| They're foolish dreamers, and the practicality of government just means nothing to them. | ||
| So you don't have, I don't, I look at California government, I look at the Los Angeles government, and because of lack of leadership, it doesn't perform. | ||

| Part of the deal would be, and I know Trump likes new ideas, here's one, not a dime until those two are whacked from their jobs immediately. | ||
| They are so incompetent, and all of the decisions they've made led to this, and they're still making mistakes. | ||

| I mean, tying aid to getting rid of them. | ||
| There's something nice about it. | ||
| I don't want to punish the people who, you know, even if you voted for them, I don't want you to be punished in a time of disaster. | ||

| But going from California to New York for a moment, the city that you still live in. | ||
| You know, obviously between the amount of crime on the subway now and the Sanctuary City stuff and all of the images, you know, people literally, a woman being burned alive on the subway, all the things that everyone's seeing now. | ||
| Every day on Twitter, I see the rumors that they'd love Rudy to be the mayor again. | ||
| Any chance? | ||
| No. | ||
| Actually, I didn't make a big deal about the city. | ||
| But I left New York. | ||
| And as of January 1st of this year, I'm a resident of Florida. | ||
| Oh, I knew you were doing, like, the snowbird thing. | ||
| Well, welcome to the free state of Florida. | ||
| All my neighbors are New Yorkers, so I feel like I'm still in New York. | ||
| But, I mean, the reality is New York is a disaster, but not a singular disaster. | ||
| It fits in with a large group of, I would say, older American cities with long-term Democrat corrupt management that are falling apart in one way or another. | ||
| The common denominator being a massive amount of crime. | ||
| And they usually have Soros-selected district attorneys who literally put criminals back out on the street to menace everyone. | ||

| So with five days from 45 becoming 47, we've been talking a lot about the Trump effect here and that the world does seem to be reordering itself before he's even sworn in again. | ||

| Greenland as an American, let's say, subsidiary might be worthwhile. | ||
| He may not say it in the way that it works for some people, but he's just really on top of this stuff. | ||
| So I just sent Nick a thing. | ||
| So I started to learn a little bit more about why he wants to take over Greenland. | ||
| And it really comes down to one very basic idea here. | ||
| Because of climate change and other things, the Arctic ice shelf is melting. | ||
| And the more and more it melts, it opens up. | ||
| A shipping lane in the northern passage for a lot of critical goods. | ||
| And so if you had some sort of strategic agreement with Canada and Greenland, you effectively have this monopoly control over something that could become as important as the Panama Canal. | ||
| And so I think if you look across the world, the control of maritime shipping lanes becomes this really critical strategic Military and economic asset. | ||
| And so the reason why he's trying to find a way to initiate some sort of a discussion between Greenland and Canada is exactly this reason. | ||
| And I think it's sort of like a bargaining gambit the way that he started, but it's really smart that he's trying to get this done for the United States of America. | ||
| Because meanwhile, what you have is China militarizing very aggressively, Russia militarizing very aggressively, and what you don't want to have happen is those two countries take control of that northern passage as the ice sheet melts. | ||
| Let's give Trump credit. | ||
| What's so smart is somebody was doing this work, got it in front of him, and he was smart enough to say, hold on a second, this is really important. | ||
| All right, guys. | ||
| So we're having some technical difficulties. | ||
| I apologize. | ||
| We're going to work on getting the mayor back. | ||
| What I wanted him to comment on there, but I think I can handle a bit of it myself while we try to clear that up, is not even the specifics of what Shamath was talking about there, as much as the idea that Trump just says these things, right? | ||

| You know, there's this interesting situation going on with Greenland and these shipping routes, and maybe it would be important. | ||
| Okay, I think we do have the mayor. | ||
| Mr. Mayor, I think the video may have dropped for you there, but I really wanted to focus not even on the specifics. | ||
| Oh, you did get it. | ||
| Okay. | ||
| So perhaps you want to chime in a little bit on why Greenland's important, but really what I wanted to ask you about that is just the Trump effect in general. | ||
| You've known this guy for decades. | ||
| The fact that he's able to just say something like, oh, we'll take Greenland and here's why, and then it just puts it in everyone's head, and then that actually changes the world. | ||
| I thought if you could talk about that as a leader, and maybe there's some risk-reward there. | ||
| What do you think? | ||
| I think it's remarkable, and it does show that he's a very unique leader. | ||
| And he can dominate the discussion, dominate the agenda, and never, ever underestimate him. | ||
| Same thing was true with Ronald Reagan. | ||
| Like when he first said Panama Canal, or first said Canada. | ||
| Canada may have been a little bit of humor, but he pushed the guy out of office. | ||
| Yeah. | ||
| We'll have more on that guy in a minute. | ||
| The guy's without a job. | ||
| So he's pretty powerful. | ||
| But remember now, when he says, well, we're not going to completely give up the possibility of military force. | ||
| There's a treaty between us and Panama that contemplates our using the military. | ||
| If the canal becomes, in our view, not neutral, and if the canal in any way jeopardizes American security, We don't have to ask Panama's permission. | ||
| We can use military to throw out whoever is creating the problem. | ||
| So when he says things and the left press goes crazy, it largely is because he's better educated than they are. | ||
| And the same thing is true with Greenland. | ||
| We occupied Greenland during the Second World War. | ||
| These national security concerns with Greenland go back 150 years. | ||
| So it might sound a little bit like he's poking around, but there's a method to, I guess, what they would say is his madness. | ||
| And here we now have turned this into a serious negotiation. | ||
| It began with Denmark changes the... | ||
| The seal. | ||
| That's going to really help. | ||
| They changed the seal of Denmark and Greenland. | ||
| That's going to really keep the Russians away and the Chinese. | ||
| And now the prime minister says, look, I make the decision here in Greenland. | ||
| We want to remain free, but we like talking to you. | ||
| I would imagine as his lawyer, every now and again, some of the over-the-top commentary probably caused a few hairs to fall out, but as a net good, I think. | ||
| Oh yes, I had a full head of hair. | ||
| But you know, I always found, sometimes he would say something, and Jay Seko and I were partners when we were representing him during the impeachment, and he would say something, and I know him a little better than Jay, and Jay would say, oh my, I would say, I bet if we just calm down, there's something to this. | ||
| And then we would, and there was. | ||
| So you're a big radio star these days. | ||
| There's this other guy, Charlemagne the God. | ||
| That's what they call him, but his real name's Lenny. | ||
| I can't call anyone the God. | ||
| But he has been a Democrat and a lefty, I think, virtually his entire life. | ||
| But he now, I think, is also kind of coming around to this Trump effect and what possibilities it puts on the horizon. | ||

| I had Stephen A. Smith here a couple days ago from ESPN. He did not vote for Donald Trump, and yet he said that he's happy he's president and basically is supporting... | ||
| Pretty much all the policies that we think are on the way. | ||
| And there you have Charlemagne the God, Lenny, who, you know, again, did not, he voted for Kamala. | ||
| He was against Trump. | ||
| But here he is basically saying, this guy's better than anything they got. | ||
| That is an unbelievable sea change compared to when Trump came in eight years ago. | ||
| You know, it's a continuation of what he was doing during the campaign as he was opening up the Hispanic and black vote. | ||
| And he got there with the Hispanic vote. | ||
| To the extent where, I don't know if he got 50%, but in certain places he got more than 50%. | ||
| As overall, he probably got to about 45%, which is remarkable. | ||
| Next time he'll be over 50%. | ||
| The changes in the black community didn't register as much in the vote, although he doubled it. | ||
| But they're continuing. | ||
| The thinking is continuing. | ||
| And this is thinking that, you know, I would recommend to Charlemagne. | ||
| I also will resist that last part of his name. | ||
| Way back, a black leader that I would have difficulties with because of violence, but Malcolm X, made the point that the biggest enemy of the black people in America are the white liberals. | ||
| And what he was talking about was how they, he would say, make us dependent on them. | ||
| It's as if we're in another form of indentured servitude. | ||
| Well, that's absolutely correct if you look at the black areas where blacks aren't doing as well as other places. | ||
| They are dominated by Democrats. | ||
| I'm sure Charlemagne agrees with choice in education. | ||
| Almost every black parent does. | ||
| 70%, 75%. | ||
| Almost every black politician votes against it. | ||
| Right. | ||
| Because the teachers' union pays them to do it. | ||
| I have always said someday that'll create a revolution. | ||
| Someday that's just going to happen. | ||
| Black parents are gonna say, why are we voting for these people who hurt our children? | ||
| And I think Trump is the guy to do it. | ||

| And if you are not happy with the schools that are in your neighborhood and because it's economically depressed or whatever else, the number one way to fix that is through school choice, which obviously Trump is a big proponent of. | ||
| And I think we're going to see more and more of that. | ||
| I don't know how quickly they'll get it to New York, but we shall see. | ||
| I want to show you one other thing on the cultural front, and then we'll end with the Canada thing and Trudeau. | ||

| How hopeful are you that this can really, really do all the things that we want it to do? | ||

| This is what I expected in 2016. It would have been harder then, and then it became impossible because of the attempts to frame him with Russian collusion and Ukraine and all the other things. | ||
| But I expected that once they opened up to his personality, he'd be an enormously successful president. | ||
| Now, he was the first time without that. | ||
| Adding this to it, we get now into Ronald Reagan territory, who was able to use both his political ideology and thinking and his personality to really move America in a very positive direction. | ||
| I expect this is gonna be a very successful presidency and be an impact on us 20 years from now, the way Roosevelt was for them and Reagan was for us until a few years ago. | ||

| And the second question, what do you make of a leader who strikes me? | ||
| I mean, he's very much like a Newsom to me. | ||

| I see the two of them as very similar as well. | ||
| And he's on his way out. | ||
| Let's hope it happens to the other one, too. | ||

| If there were an opening, he'd jump on it in a minute. | ||

| I want to finish up with one other video of Trudeau, because this combines sort of this Trump effect we're talking about, and then also social media, censorship, and so much of the other misinformation nonsense we've been dealing with. | ||

| The struggle that you were having domestically, your disapproval rating, had to do with, as I understand it, Discontent with your government because of high inflation and the economy and also because of immigration policies. | ||
| Those are also issues that the left-wing party in this country has faced a lot of disapproval of and just lost an election over. | ||
| It seems like voters in both of these liberal democracies are sending a message to left-wing parties, liberal parties, we don't like how you're doing the economy when it comes to inflation. | ||
| We don't like how you're doing immigration. | ||

| And maybe we could end the show with you just briefly explaining what your situation is right now, because you're going through an awful lot. | ||

| But where are you at with all this? | ||
| Because it's not right-wing attacks that created this chaos. | ||
| It's left-wing attacks, and it's at your doorstep. | ||
| 100%. | ||
| And when I heard that before, that pretty much was the whole Biden approach, right? | ||
| There is no inflation. | ||
| The economy is wonderful. | ||
| The border is secure. | ||
| And meanwhile, the people are seeing reality. | ||
| And they are actually doing a better job of converting them to us than we are by reality hitting people in the face. | ||
| As far as I'm concerned, we're going through the remaining... | ||
| Vestiges of lawfare. | ||
| I have a judge in the District of Columbia who put more J6 people in jail than anyone, Judge Howell, who actually got annoyed that the judges weren't giving large enough sentences. | ||
| And she has held me in contempt, and she wants me to recite a statement that she's going to write for me. | ||
| That is so offensive to the First Amendment. | ||
| I'd never heard of that before. | ||
| But that's how far they have gone. | ||
| I think we're going to ultimately win all these cases or get them settled. | ||
| But it's going to take a while. | ||
| And I've been through hell. | ||
| You're absolutely right. | ||
| Except I'm sustained by the fact that other people have been through worse. | ||
| And I do mention the J6 people because I'm in that court a lot because of my case with $148 million at all. | ||
| And this will go down in history. | ||
| That's worse than the Japanese internment, what they did to those people. | ||
| That's not to say there weren't some bad ones, but there were mostly good ones. | ||
| And the bad ones were disproportionately punished. | ||
| I mean, we punish people for hitting a cop, and we should. | ||
| But we don't hold them without bail. | ||
| And we don't put them in a substandard-style prison. | ||
| And we don't put them in jail for five years. | ||
| In New York, in fact, we don't put them in jail at all. | ||
| And then you have an awful lot of these people. | ||
| You know, only something like 78 of the 1,000 or maybe 120 of the 1,000 involve violence. | ||
| Most of these were not violent. | ||
| Most of those people are not guilty of touching a cop. | ||
| So, yes, you should do it case by case. | ||
| But once you see it's not violent, let them out. | ||
| And then the violent ones take a look at it. | ||
| They may have already served three times more than anybody else for a similar violent offense, but they were certainly denied due process, every single one of them. | ||
| The judges on the D.C. court should be investigated for having become something other than American judges and entered into a kind of insane zeal about an event that never really happened. | ||
| Even when people say, like, insurrection. | ||
| Just the other day, one of those crazy reporters on one of those crazy networks said that this was like World War II. Oh, it was Sonny Hostin on The View Senate, yeah. | ||
| You've got to be living on another planet to say that. | ||
| But then for a judge to convert that into legal action, well, that's the destruction of the Constitution. | ||
| And that was probably the worst thing that happened, except maybe the things they did to the president to try to prevent him from being president. | ||
| But those people have been real martyrs, many of them completely innocent. | ||
| Well, Mr. Mayor, it's that kind of grace and humility and selflessness that made me very proud to be a New Yorker when you were mayor. | ||
| And I'm even happier that you are now here in the free state of Florida. | ||
