Time Text
The views expressed by the host of this program make more sense than anything anybody else out there happens to be saying.
Here on the cutting edge, the Limbaugh Institute for Advanced Conservative Studies.
Telephone numbers 800 282-2882.
Just to get this out of the way, Josh Ernest, the press secretary of the White House Daily Press briefing today.
He uh he opened the briefing with an update on the technical issue, the glitch that has halted trading at the New York Stock Exchange.
Just uh just 30 seconds here of what he said.
Audio soundbite number 28, by the way.
Here it is.
Did I speak too soon?
You don't have Soundbite 28 yet.
Well, nobody's answering.
This afternoon, the president was briefed by his Homeland Security Advisor, Lisa Monaco, and the White House Chief of Staff Dennis McDonough about the technical issues that are currently being experienced by the New York Stock Exchange.
Ms. Monaco told the president that at this point there is no indication that malicious actors are involved in these technology issues.
The president told Ms. Monaco and Mr. McDonough that he wanted to continue to be updated on the situation over the course of the day.
But at this point, there is no indication that malicious actors uh were involved.
Oh, there you have it, see.
The regime has spoken.
And there's uh there's no no indication that malicious actors were, not are.
No indication that malicious actors were involved.
I don't know.
I just I I just saw a subject line in an email that I got uh, and I didn't have a chance to even click on it.
The subject line uh did anonymous in the hacker group did anonymous predict today's stock market glitch.
And I haven't had a chance to click on that, so I don't know.
I probably shouldn't even I'm not I'm not do I just sharing with you an email I got.
I mean, I get stuff all day, every day you wouldn't have to weed through gunk and drivel and bilge like you can't believe.
And that may be uh more of it.
Also from Media I'll get back to the uh new totalitarians here in un momento.
But apparently this just happened.
Here he is from Media I here's the headline.
Trump steamrolls NBC reporter takes shots at Krauthammer and Jonah Goldberg.
And here is the story.
For those who didn't watch Donald Trump's lengthy interview with NBC's Katie Tour this afternoon, here is a one-sentence summation.
The Republican candidate constantly chided and talked over his interviewer.
He talked smack about his critics and repeated all the same claims he's made about Mexico over the past few weeks.
Ask whether he's concerned about gun violence in America.
Trump said that he's a big Second Amendment person.
And when she asked whether he owns a gun, the following exchange ensued.
Trump, I have a license to have a gun.
Yes, I do.
Do you own one?
Yes, I do.
Do you use it at a gun range?
It's none of your business.
It's really none of your business.
I have a license to have a gun.
What about gun control?
Trump, what are you talking about?
Or stronger background checks.
Yes, I have a gun, and yes, I have a permit to have a gun.
Well, do you favor stronger background checks?
What about that?
Is there any steps that you would take to make it harder to get a gun in this country?
Trump.
Once you get into that, you start getting into a situation, a slippery slope, or all of a sudden, you're gonna really violate the second amendment.
I don't want to do anything to violate second amendment.
To me, the second amendment's very important.
And then came Trump's time to bash his famous conservative critics on Charles Crauthammer, who called him a rodeo clown.
Trump said he's a totally overrated person and dislikes me personally.
I never met him.
He's a totally overrated guy, doesn't know what he's doing.
On Jonah Goldberg, who compared him to a failed man.
I'm worth a fortune.
You know what's interesting?
I went to the best schools, I got great marks, everything else.
I went out, I made a fortune, A big fortune, a tremendous fortune, bigger than people even understand.
And then get called by a guy that can't buy a pair of pants, I get called names.
By the way, Trump smirked.
Are you going to mention the ones that do like Trump?
No, you don't do that.
This was on MSNBC.
We may have to lift the ban.
Because this happened on MSNBC this afternoon.
I'm telling you stuff like this.
More and more people are going to glom onto this.
I mean, do you realize he took her on as though it's every one of these people are in the media, Krauthammer, Jonah Goldberg, and this woman interviewing him, Katie Tur, and he's taken on the media.
And you, folks, you know as well as I do, the media is considered by many people to be as big an enemy as the Democrat Party.
The media is as big an obstacle to electoral victory as the Democrat Party is, because they're actually one and the same.
And the uh the Republicans haven't had anybody that's gone after anybody in the Democrat Party or in the media.
The Republicans have people that pretty much try to act nice and they they snake and slither into these uncontroversial positions with people, and it just frustrates a lot of people.
Here comes Trump.
So Jonah Goldberg calling me a failed man, Jonah Goldberg calling me a failed man.
What?
I'm worth a fortune.
This reminds me of his introductory speech, and I'm rich, I'm really rich, I'll show you in a minute.
I'm really rich.
I'm worth a fortune.
You know why it's interesting.
I went to the best school, got great marks, everything else.
I went out, I made a fortune, a big fortune, a tremendous fortune, bigger than people understand.
I get called by a guy who can't buy a pair of pants, I get called names.
By the way, you're going to mention the people that like Trump?
No.
You don't do that.
Anyway, we'll um I hope uh Cookie was rolling on this.
I mean she very irritated at me that I have this MSNBC ban.
Well, the reason she's irritated with me about it is that she thinks it's a gold mine of stuff.
And it'd be easy to find it because I mean it is it MSNBC is.
It is a repository for all the insanity on the left in one place.
And I have told her I don't want anything because I'm tired of building that place up and creating curiosity about it.
And since I put that ban on them, no sound bites from them here, their ratings have plunged beneath the gutter.
They're so low over there when they look up the gutter is what they see.
But we do make occasional exemptions, allow occasional exemptions to the ban.
And uh this this may be one.
Now, I want to go back to the to the rest of the new totalitarian piece and then give you some examples of it.
And it has been suggested to me that I ask all of you to start paying attention to examples of this that you encounter.
Not necessarily things that happen to you, but things that you see in the news, maybe where you live, or just anywhere.
You know, and and uh just make a note of it and become aware of it.
It's one thing to have this new totalitarianism described to you.
It by the way, it's not new.
The real brilliance of these pieces like Angelo Codvia's piece on on the ruling class, it just in one place pretty much said everything we were all thinking, and it did it in a easily understandable and commonsensical way.
And that's what this piece does.
And just to illustrate again, you know, I have routinely pointed out, tried to get people to notice, tried to get people to observe that the left is constantly miserable.
They're unhappy, angry, miserable all the time, even after they win big.
Well, this piece provides the reason why, or the answer.
They're angry because there remains opposition, even after they win.
There are people that still oppose them.
And that ticks them off.
It just infuriates them.
Because the key element of totalitarianism, not only will you be defeated by them, but in time you will love them and you will agree with them, and you will support them, and you will actively join them.
And you will not disagree.
And that is what we are in the midst of seeing.
And the example he even gave here was with George Takai lashing out at Clarence Thomas over his dissenting opinion in the Supreme Court case.
Why?
What did it matter?
Thomas was on the losing side.
What did it matter?
George Takai was livid.
I mean, he was foaming at the mouth, angry, and he let his racism surface, called Clarence Thomas, a clown in blackface, said he didn't deserve to be in the Supreme Court, and he lost.
Take had more to say about the dissent than he did praising the people in the majority in the Supreme Court.
He didn't even talk about the justices in the majority.
He didn't spend a dime, he didn't spend a second praising them, and neither did anybody else.
They all went after Scalia, and they all went after Thomas, and they all went after Alito.
They all went after the dissent.
And it was relentless.
So, For a fair number of people in what's supposed to be a democracy, winning in any normal political sense sense simply is not enough.
They are not really trying to capture something as pedestrian as political equality, nor are they satisfied if they get it.
They claim that's what they're about.
Equality are not about equality at all.
They're about total domination.
That's that's folks.
Let me tell you something.
This is why, and I'll just say it for me, I blanch when I hear a Republican presidential candidate say I can work with them.
I can cross the aisle.
I'm the guy to cross the aisle, I can build bridges.
I'm the guy who can show the American people that we can work with them.
They don't want that.
The fallacy in this belief that as a Republican you can win and govern because you can gain the cooperation of people on the left.
They don't want any cooperation.
They are not interested in what Chris Christie thinks.
They're not interested in what McCain thinks.
They're not interested in what Jeb Bush thinks.
They're interested in eliminating everything those guys think.
They don't care to get along.
That's why the Republicans have fallen into a huge trap on all of this.
Bipartisanship.
They are not bipartisan.
Somebody give me an example of left-wing bipartisanship.
They don't even define it the way we do.
Bipartisanship as they define it is in we cave on our core beliefs and agree with them.
That is bipartisanship.
There is no compromise.
Look at the global warming issue.
Why are they so angry?
They appear to be getting everything they want.
The Pope's on their side.
Big governments are on their side.
The United Nations is on their side, but we aren't.
And they're livid.
And who do they focus on?
The deniers.
And who are they trying to destroy?
The deniers.
They cannot tolerate, they will not tolerate, they cannot handle dissent.
They don't want it.
You will be made to love them and their beliefs.
You will be made to understand that gay marriage is superior to standard marriage.
You will be made to understand that transgender rights are more important than anybody else's right now.
You will be made to understand that there is a male-dominated rape culture on campus, even though there isn't.
You will be made to understand it.
And you will agree with it.
And you will join us in stopping it, even though it isn't happening.
You will agree that the Duke Lacrosse team raped and damaged or whatever, even though it didn't happen.
You will be made to agree.
You will understand that there is going to be amnesty, and you will love it, and you will stop speaking out against it.
And until you do, you are in our crosshairs.
It's who they are.
That is the modern day Democrat Party.
And certainly that is the attitude of their major donors.
Just recent examples.
I can go.
See, I've got things so confused here now because of all the news that came in.
It's time to take a break anyway.
I'm looking for the stack that has Ferguson, Missouri.
Let me find this.
Sorry about this, folks, but we have been overtaken by events taking place at the moment.
I'll get it all straightened out.
Be back right after this.
Do not go away.
What do you mean I haven't gotten to Hillary's big interview?
You realize how insignificant that is to everything else I'm talking about here.
Plus, everybody else is talking about Hillary's interview.
I already told you what Hillary's interview was all about.
I've still got it here.
But I told you when this stuff all began, she bores me.
And this interview yesterday was just, it was it was more to say, it was total caca.
And I refuse to get sucked in, roped in, manipulated by the Daily Soap Opera.
That is the media narrative of every day.
I'm just not going to get roped into it.
Anyway, try this.
Do you know what's going on in Ferguson, Missouri?
You may not know this.
Do you know that the agitators, protesters in Ferguson, Missouri are still trying to have the grand jury decision nullified?
In the Gentle Giant case, the grand jury, where witnesses came and spoke, where it was discovered that hands up, don't shoot didn't happen, where all the witnesses who were lying were exposed.
But you see, there's a different reality.
Hands up, don't shoot did happen.
The gentle giant was walking away minding his own business.
He saw the gun from the murderous white cop.
He raised his hands, he said, don't shoot.
He was backing away, and the cop murdered him anyway.
That's what the Ferguson protesters are demanding be the end story.
The grand jury decision says just the opposite of that.
They have been trying to get it nullified.
A judge has tossed out the latest attempt.
But how long will the judges hold out?
How long will they be able to withstand this before somebody finally says, ah, screw it?
Okay, we'll nullify it.
Just get out of here.
A judge has tossed out a push by activists for an independent investigation of a prosecutor's handling of grand jury proceedings in the Ferguson police shooting of the gentle giant.
A ruling that the effort was, quote, not only logically flawed, but contrary to the principles of our criminal justice system.
So they're trying to say that the grand jury was corrupt, that there was no logic in it, and that the criminal justice system was not allowed to actually play out.
St. Louis Circuit Judge Joseph Walsh III, in a 10-page ruling last Thursday, wrote that he reached the inescapable conclusion that St. Louis County prosecutor Robert McCulloch faithfully performed his duty in connection with a grand jury, even though some other person may have made the presentation to the grand jury in a different manner.
So the judge is in, yeah, okay, somebody else might have done it differently, but this guy did it just fine.
An attorney for the activists by the name of Maggie Ellinger Locke said Monday that her clients would challenge the judge's ruling to a Missouri appellate court.
We believed judge decision provides prosecutors' carte blanche discretion to act arbitrarily in any given case.
This isn't the law, and on that basis we shall appeal.
So, folks, it's an all-out assault on the criminal justice system and an attempt, which will not stop to have the entire grand jury system found corrupt, and if they could get rid of it.
And why?
Because they didn't get the result.
They did not prevail.
There are people who disagree with them, and that will not be tolerated.
People who disagree with them, whether they are high judges, whether they are prosecutors, whether they are average ordinary, everyday citizens, it will not be tolerated.
What happened in Ferguson is that an innocent gentle giant was murdered in cold blood by a racist white cop.
And by golly by gosh, we're not going to stop until everybody agrees with that and lives with that and loves that.
We're not stopping until that, and that's who these people are.
That's just one example.
Civil rights group demands that Kid Rock denounce the Confederate flag, or else.
Ah, look.
I have to take another brief obscene profit timeout.
We will be right back.
Okay.
Here's the latest on the tech glitch affecting the Wall Street Journal, Don Jones Stock Exchange, and United Airlines and so forth.
This is from the website Zero Hedge.
And the headline is this what the first world cyber war looks like.
After a series of cyber failures involving first United Airlines, and then this website, and then the New York Stock Exchange, which is still halted, and then the Wall Street Journal, some have suggested this could be a concerted cyber attack, perhaps by a retaliatory ChICOM.
Unhappy its stocks are plunging, focusing on the U.S. So we decided to look at a real-time cyber attack map, courtesy of Norse Corp.
And if you're interested, that's spelled N-O-R-S-E-C-O-R-P, Norse Corp.
They provide real-time visibility into global cyber attacks.
And now when was this published?
Looks like uh at uh, well, this is from right before noon today.
So what clearly stands out in the screenshot here from Norse Corp, right before noon today, is that for some reason a Chinese direct denial of service attack was focusing on St. Louis.
And the screenshot, that's what this company does.
Norse in ORSE is the name of the company, Norse Corporation.
They actually find a way to uh visualize what a real-time cyber attack map looks like, and just looking at this, it looks like there's all kinds of attention being focused on St. Louis.
So I don't know if United Airlines servers in St. Louis are passed through St. Louis, same thing with the stock exchange.
Um, and it's clearly admitted here that whether this is related to the series of cyber failures today is unclear, although if there is a connection, at least there's a way to keep track of it.
Nobody really knows the regime sent its spokesman out to say that there's nothing to see here.
These are tech glitches, these are not cyber attacks.
So in a, you know, Giuliani said earlier today that this is lousy crisis management, and that is illustrated by the fact that since there hasn't there been so little said explaining this, it leaves the field wide open for every conspiracy theorist in the world to come in and to supply an answer.
And of course, we here at the EIB network, we refuse all of these seductive efforts to try to explain what's going on.
Just be patient and wait and find out what's going on.
Even then we might not be told a truth.
We must fully acknowledge that we might not be told a truth given what this is.
But in due course, I'm fairly confident that we will find out.
John in San Bernardino, California.
Glad that you waited, sir.
It's great to have you on the program.
Hello.
It's great to be on your program, Rush, and thank you.
Hey, I just have a comment, and um I'll leave it at that.
You know, um I've been a criminal, I've been a drug addict, I've been incarcerated, and in these times, my mother, she loved me.
And um, you know, it really runs me wrong.
And I've listened to you for 20 some odd years, and I agree with your uh your point and your views.
But when I hear you uh, you know, refer to the young man as uh uh the gentle giant, it really runs me wrong because you have to remember he has parents that love him and that are missing him, and I would ask that you quit referring to him as a general giant.
We know he was a thug.
He he was up to no good in that day.
But you know, let's respect the parents in this and and remember that that he's somebody's son.
And uh that's my only comment.
Okay.
All right.
John, thank you very much for the for the call.
Um it's a tough spot to be in here, folks.
It was his mother who first called him the gentle giant.
It's just the gentle giant.
That's how the term came to be.
His mom called, and it was quickly adopted by uh the drive-by media, and it's only his mother and the drive-by media who have referred to him as such.
So I've been doing so as uh in uh manner of respect.
You called him the thug.
I'm calling him the gentle giant.
That's what everybody involved trying to change the story is calling him.
So you see, see how this works.
And I'm not accusing the caller of anything.
I'm just see how this works.
I have become the story.
Not the fact that there's an entire protest element trying to blow up the grand jury system, trying to sue the prosecutor, trying to sue everybody to get the outcome they want.
No.
I'm the meanie.
I'm calling him the gentle giant.
And this is how it works.
Now, civil rights group demands Kid Rock denounce Confederate flag, or else, this is from Breitbart, unsatisfied with the removal of the flag from public places, stores, and TV shows.
Activists are now calling for the musician Kid Rock to stop using the banner at concerts.
The outspoken and politically incorrect artiste was born and raised in and around Detroit and admits it.
But his love for Southern rock and culture has included the use of the rebel flag at shows over the years.
While it isn't clear the last time Kid used one of the flags during a performance, members of a Detroit-based civil rights group are nevertheless demanding that Kid Rock denounce the flag and are asking the Detroit Historical Museum to remove his name from an exhibit that he funded if he doesn't.
The new totalitarians.
They can't even tell us the last time he used it.
It doesn't matter.
It's that he one time did, or ten times did, or whatever.
He may not have used the Confederate flag in five years, but he has.
And so he must be punished.
He must never ever use it again, and until he promises not to use it again, and until he begs for forgiveness for having used it, they're going to demand that a museum remove His name from an exhibit he paid for.
According to the Detroit Free Press, a dozen or so members of the Michigan chapter of the National Action Network, that's Al Sharpton's group, held a protest Monday in front of the museum where there are no Confederate flags.
There aren't any there.
There are no Confederate flags in the museum.
It doesn't matter.
They showed up and held a protest in front of the museum to target an exhibit that bears the name of Kid Rock.
The Reverend Charles Williams II, the president of the Sharpton, Michigan chapter, and a pastor of the local church said, the hometown hero who is a zero with the Confederate flag.
See how this works.
They can't even remember the last time he displayed the flag at a concert.
They can't, it says right here, while it isn't clear the last time Kid Rock used the flag during a report.
Doesn't matter.
He did one time at least.
And until he apologizes, acknowledges his mistake, and swears and promises he was wrong and never will do it again.
Then they're going to take down that exhibit that he paid for.
White House instructs allies to lean on Jewish community to force Iran deal.
This is from the Washington Free Beacon.
The White House is targeting Jewish groups in its latest push to blunt congressional criticism of an Iran deal that observers expect to be sealed in the coming days.
The White House's liaison to the Jewish community on Monday advised dozens of the liberal groups to push a poll commissioned and distributed by the liberal fringe group J Street, which has been defending a deal with Iran.
Matt Nosenchuk, an official of the White House Office of Public Engagement, who also serves as a Jewish liaison, cited J. Street's poll and urged liberal activists present on the call to cite its numbers when defending a deal with Iran.
The private strategy call, which included more than a hundred people, was organized by the Plowshares Fund, a liberal group that has spent millions of dollars to slant Iran-related news coverage and protect the regime's diplomatic efforts.
Case you haven't heard of them, the Plowshares Fund is a longtime ultra-radical anti-American organization.
The bottom line is they and White House people are allied and are leaning on people in the Jewish community to force a deal with Iran.
You will support our deal with Iran.
And you will love it.
And you will not oppose us, and you will not say a word in opposition, and you will love what we are doing, and you will become public advocates of the deal, or else.
A new document uh new document reveals that the Department of Justice, the IRS, and the FBI colluded to prosecute Barack Obama opponents.
This from Judicial Watch involves Lois Lerner.
Just the headline here, folks.
New documents reveal the Department of Justice, the IRS, and the FBI colluding to prosecute Obama opponents.
These are the 501c3s that the conservative fundraising groups asking for tax exempt status.
Judicial Watch has found evidence that the DOJ, the IRS, and the FBI were colluding to prosecute them out of existence.
Back after this.
Ah, darn it, folks.
I just didn't get to the Hillary interview.
As hard as I tried, I just couldn't find a way to squeeze it in.
But we have it for tomorrow if I dare want to get there.
Whatever.
It'll be a barn burner.
It always is, folks.
Thanks for being with us today.
And we'll be back right here tomorrow, 21 hours.
Export Selection
