Welcome to today's edition of the Rush 24-7 podcast.
And ladies and gentlemen, greetings.
Great to have you here.
It is the one and only Rush Limbaugh program on the Excellence in Broadcasting Network.
We come to you live from the Limbaugh Institute for Advanced Conservative Studies.
A thrill and a delight to be with you today.
Telephone number, if you want to be on the program, is 800-282-2882.
The email address, LRushbo at EIBNet.com.
If there was a word, if there was a word that I would attach to the news today, it would be clarity.
Some things are starting to come into focus.
Well, I mean, to people like you and me, they have been in focus for a long time.
But that focus and that clarity is starting to be reflected in the drive-bys as they continue to spin for what they now obviously believe is going to be a pretty big Republican win one week from today.
And I know some of you might think, hey, hey, Rush, don't be fooled.
sandbagging?
They're trying to...
I don't think so, folks.
I think they've given it their best shot.
And now we're a week out and they have to be focused and concerned with their credibility.
CNN poll.
Voters are angry.
70% of Americans are angry at the direction the country's headed.
53% disapprove of Obama's job performance.
These numbers continue to worsen.
The news on Ebola today in the New York Times, sorry, Washington Post, no unity over Ebola monitoring of travelers.
There isn't any unity.
There is no singular policy.
It is an absolute joke.
And the reason it's an absolute joke is because of Obama.
You know, I joked yesterday we needed to quarantine Governor Christie.
It turns out, actually, we need to quarantine Barack Obama.
And apparently, the Ebola czar is already in quarantine because we can't find the guy, Ron Clain.
Although, did you tell me there was a rumored sighting of the Ebola czar yesterday or something?
Well, that's true.
The Ebola Tsar's fingerprint, Elizabeth Warren is out there accusing Governor Christie of politicizing this.
If anybody's politicizing the Ebola response, it's the regime by hiring Clain, who doesn't know a thing about Ebola or anything related to health.
And it was Ron Clain who sent that message out yesterday that Governor Cuomo, Governor Christie, are off the reservation and not behaving and not following national orders on this.
And it is that, and Elizabeth Warren has picked up on that, and she's trying to make that claim as well.
We've got Democrats apparently running away from Dingy Harry.
We've got the war on women not working in Colorado in the Corey Gardner race and this Udall character.
Now, and the theory behind the war on women not working, and there's a reason why it isn't, and it's because of something that Gardner's done.
But the media is saying that the reason the war on women campaign theme, and the Democrats have had some success with the reason it's not working is because single women, who are the targets of the war on women, don't turn out in midterm elections.
That's the kind of thing I mean when I talk about clarity.
Single women, and they are, by the way, I mean, the Democrat Party depends big time on single women, unmarried women could be divorced.
And they apparently, CNN has discovered, somebody's discovered, they don't vote in the midterms.
Oh, no.
And it's a little bit late to drum up their interest.
And so the war on women may be fizzling is a campaign issue in Colorado.
Probably everywhere.
Now, in the midst of all that, folks, I have been looking forward to this day.
I can't tell you very long.
It's October 28th.
And today, Rush Revere and the American Revolution, Time Travel Adventures with Exceptional Americans, book three in the series, is actually on sale.
The pre-order period is over, and you can now get that book, and you can have it in your hands.
You can have it in your hands today.
Now, I know you would expect me to tout one of my own books.
No news there.
And you would probably expect me to tout it all pretty positively.
And as such, you might think, well, of course, Rush would say that.
It's his book.
But let me clarify this.
This book, the first two are great and proud and happy, all of that.
But as you write these, you hope they get better.
In anything you do, you want to get better each time you do it.
And a lot of effort has been put into this third book, Rush Revere and the American Revolution.
You see, folks, we live in the greatest country on earth.
We have an incredible history, a great, great story.
And our mission in this series is to tell that story, to tell the story of the American founding in a very relatable way, so that the young reader can really get to know the exceptional patriots, the people who made this country possible.
This is a once-in-a-lifetime experiment in how human beings organize themselves and manage themselves politically, socially, economically as a population of a single nation.
It was never tried before.
It is miraculous.
I love this country.
I wish everybody did.
I hope everybody will.
And that is one of the many reasons for the Rush Revere series.
Now, this book, it's October 28th, Veterans Day is coming up.
We have tied this book to the military in that we have dedicated it to them.
And the timing of the release is to facilitate that dedication.
Now, what we've done in this book is we've gone back to various events in American history.
I don't want to give the story away.
But we've also combined the history in this book with a modern day reality for many military families.
And that is mom or dad being deployed to a theater of war and their young children partially understanding it, but sometimes not really understanding it and having trouble coping with it, coping with the absence of mom or dad.
And we have incorporated a story of just that reality into Rush Revere and the American Revolution as a tribute to the people in the military who, above all, have risked everything to defend and protect and preserve our great country.
The story involves one of our characters named Cam.
His father is deployed to Afghanistan.
Cam has trouble dealing with his father's absence and doesn't understand it, takes it personally, feels a little not abandoned, but rejected.
But during the time travels, back to crucial events in American history, the light starts going off in his head and things dawn on him.
And it's a beautiful thing.
We all, it's a very small team of people that work on these books.
It's a labor of love.
It takes, I couldn't do this myself by any stretch of the imagination.
And we've been so excited because we love the military so much.
We hold them in such respect that we have, I personally just could not wait, not been able to wait for this book to get out into the hands of the people we love and cherish and admire so much, the U.S. military.
And we've incorporated that into this story.
Now, when we first started the series, we talked a lot about how we could get younger people to enjoy history and, in a way, not even know what was history.
We wanted them to learn it, but not demand that they learn it, not require they take a test to prove that they've learned it.
We wanted them to enjoy learning it.
So we've portrayed history as a series of incredible adventures.
Thought the best plan would be to take them right to the action so they can experience these amazing events, like the Boston Tea Party, like the Pilgrims Arriving.
Have conversations with the actual people who founded this country, people like Benjamin Franklin.
So the Time Travel Adventures were born, created time-traveling horse named Liberty, and Rush Revere is a substitute teacher at Manchester Middle School, and he can time travel with the horse.
They can go back anywhere they want in American history, anywhere they want, and any time.
Take some students.
They go back and actually live these moments in American history.
This is the third adventure, Rush Revere, and the American Revolution.
And it really is a must-read.
It's heartfelt, it's patriotic, it's absolutely hilarious at times.
It'll bring tears to your eyes.
Where are you getting that kind of feedback from people?
And I say, I don't want to give too much away, but the story of Cam and his father and his mom and his father's deployment is a key element in the book here as it's dedicated to the U.S. military.
Because through the time travels, Cam starts to mature right in front of the reader's eyes and learns from American history a great deal about the why and the how of military people and gives him some insight about the amazing sacrifice of all of our military heroes.
And when he realizes his dad is one of them, oh, I guarantee you're going to need some tissues nearby.
Kids are going to love it.
Grandparents, parents are going to enjoy sharing this with your kids.
We're very proud of it.
It's on sale today.
Barnes and Noble Books a Millions got some great displays.
Amazon iBooks.
Wherever you buy books, it's out there.
And it's not expensive.
You don't want these $24.95 books.
It's a hardcover book, just like the first two, and it's great graphics.
Is the trailer ready to go yet?
You have to go to our Facebook, the Rush Revere Facebook page.
You have to go there.
We have just uploaded a fantastic trailer or video that signals the arrival of Rush Revere and the American Revolution.
You have to see this.
It's just, folks, it's, look, if I don't tell you who will, and you know I'm not going to lie to you, it is so good, and it follows our mission.
It just furthers the dream that we have with these books of educating young people about the truth of this great country.
So I appreciate you allowing me to take this time to mention it, that it's out there and available today.
I appreciate your indulgence on this.
We'll take a brief time out and come back and start explaining and exploring all the rest of the news that's out there that might have some of you confused.
Sit tight, folks.
Much more straight ahead right after this.
So I see Hillary Clinton trying to walk back her comments.
Right, trying to walk back her comments.
No, no, that's not what I meant.
Yes, it is exactly what she meant.
I'm going to tell you something about this.
She didn't believe for a minute what she said about small businesses and corporations not creating jobs.
She didn't believe that.
Now, I can't speak for Elizabeth Warren.
She may well be a kook.
I think she is.
And Elizabeth Warren may be a true belief.
She may really believe that private enterprise success stories are not real.
She may really believe that owners of businesses had nothing to do with making them successful.
She probably does.
Mrs. Clinton doesn't.
But Mrs. Clinton's trapped, and every other one of these Democrats is trapped.
Let me tell you, they've sown the seeds of something that could be, just thinking about this last night.
They've sown the seeds of what could be their demise.
And it started, well, a long time ago, but the modern incarnation of this is the five years they spent trashing this country, trashing President Bush, trashing the office of presidency, trashing the military, smearing virtually everything that was happening in this country because of their own rabid hatred for Bush that was the result of the Florida recount in 2000.
They never got over that.
They still aren't over that.
Their hatred for Bush, their hatred for conservatives, hatred for traditional American values was just, they couldn't contain it.
And it was announced.
They made it clear.
They were enraged and filled with anger and hatred for five years, every day, practically 24 hours a day, practically every day of the year, in order to saddle Bush with a defeat.
I don't need to repeat this.
You know the details of those five years, but what was the upshot?
The upshot of it is they created a sizable percentage of voters in this country, their base.
They created a bunch of lunatics and insane asylum candidates who now demand to hear that stuff all the time.
There are consequences to words and actions.
There are consequences to deeds.
And they've created this monster.
I don't know what percentage of the American people would constitute the Democrat Party base.
It's not a majority of Americans, thank God.
But it's not tiny either.
And they fueled the rage and they threw gasoline on it every day and they continue to.
And now, in order to stay viable, in order to remain in good graces with this deranged bunch of Democrat-based voters, they have to continue talking like that.
They have to continue saying things like that.
They have to continue with policy that's rooted in this kind of rage and anger and hatred.
And that's what Hillary was doing.
She was placating this lunatic fringe base they've created.
Now, the reaction to it was strong, and Mrs. Clinton realized, you know, uh-oh, I've got to try to walk that back, but she can't walk it back.
She's got to hang in with it as far as the base is concerned.
So she's got to come up with some convoluted, they took it out of context.
I didn't really mean to say whatever.
That is, she's just making it worse.
Those words are going to remain with her forever.
They're going to live on in television commercials in every endeavor she seeks, where she has an opponent.
She's going to have to explain, defend whatever those words, and they're going to hang in there.
Those words are, and they're going to continue to be a problem.
But more than that is what the Democrat Party base is going to demand from its leaders.
The Democrat Party base, because this is what they've been fed, this is what they donate money on the basis of.
This is what they've grown up to believe in and accept.
The Democrat Party base is going to require that whoever runs for office says this kind of inane, stupid stuff, which is going to put pressure on Democrats to continue saying this like Dingy Harry and this stupid Koch brothers thing or this war on women.
All of this is stupid.
But they're now sort of imprisoned.
They have to keep offering this red meat to this group of base voters of theirs.
And that's what Hillary was doing.
And look what happened.
Now she's doing a Maya culprit.
Well, I didn't mean that.
Sorry.
If she successfully walks it back, then she has disappointed the base.
The base will look at her as a sellout.
The base will question whether or not she really means all of this anti-capitalism.
And if this Democrat Party base thinks that any of their politicians secretly actually like capitalism and crony capitalism, there may be a big price to pay because the Democrat Party's talked these people in the education system from K all the way through college into hating capitalism.
So a Democrat candidate comes along and actually does not continue that line of anti-capitalist rhetoric.
There may be a price to pay for it.
It's not wishful thinking.
And anything can change at any time.
And I know full well the media is going to be in there right as they always are providing cover.
They're willing accomplices.
This business with Cheryl Atkinson and her book and the stories that CBS management, the ways management engaged to stop her, to shut her up, to shape her reports in favor of Obama, to get her to stop digging on news stories that could hurt Obama.
When I've called these people willing accomplices of the Democrat Party and particularly Barack Obama, this Cheryl Atkinson book documents it.
It proves it.
They got polling data out there.
I mean all kinds of polling data.
There's a new one, voters in sour mood say Obama has made government worse.
And where do you find this?
You find this in the Washington Post.
The Ebola response is an absolute confusing bunch of incompetence.
So hang in there.
Be back.
Yeah, people told me I forgot to show the new book on the ditto cam.
You're right.
There it is.
It's great artwork.
It's a great cover.
Rush Reverend the American Revolution, the audio version.
The audio version's out, and it's the best yet, too.
And I ought to know because I did that one, too.
Unabridged.
Every word in the audio version.
And it's all available today.
Greetings and welcome back.
It's Rush Limbo at 800-282-2882.
The email address, ilrushbow at EIBnet.com.
All speaking of which, just one more thing.
We love hearing your comments on Facebook and by email about the books.
And we are posting a lot of them.
We are building a huge connection between readers of these books and the characters at both our Facebook page, Rush Revere Facebook page, and the RushRevere.com website.
And I especially want to thank Gloria Thompson for her Facebook message on the Rush Revere page a moment ago.
It's bringing tears to everybody's eyes.
And I just, Gloria, I just thought I would take a moment here to do it and thank you personally.
Now, ladies and gentlemen, the combination of Ebola and the way it's being handled and dealt with and the news coming in on the sour conditions status quo situation for the Democrat Party, they're almost inseparable.
They almost make the same point.
Now, for example, Elizabeth Warren is now demanding that Governor Christie back up his quarantine on returning Ebola health workers with science.
Elizabeth Warren, we call her Focahontus because she claims that she has one 500th of a percentage of Indian blood, which qualifies her as a minority.
It was some stupid pandering thing she said during her campaign for the Senate.
The woman wouldn't know.
This is the woman who said, you didn't build that.
Mr. Factory Owner, you didn't build any of that.
All the rest of us built that for you.
You just get to take advantage of everybody's hard work.
You don't pay anybody anything.
You didn't build that.
So she's out there demanding that Governor Christie now back up his quarantine on returning Ebola health workers with science.
But she is not demanding that Obama back up the Army's quarantine of soldiers who had no contact with Ebola victims.
It also sounds to me like Ms. Warren hasn't read the latest CDC guidelines, which recommend quarantining anybody who had contact with bodily fluids of Ebola patients.
I mean, did Nurse Hickox not have any contact with the bodily fluids of Ebola patients?
How would that be possible?
But for this regime and anybody in support of this regime to claim that governors use science when this regime isn't anywhere near science, this regime is who's politicized this.
The regime is responsible for all the differing quarantine regulations out there because they can't decide on one.
The Army's got its procedures.
Governor Cuomo, Governor Christie had theirs.
The White House didn't like Governor Cuomo and Governor Christie, so they put pressure on him to accede.
Governor Christie's claiming that he didn't.
Governor Christie is claiming that he didn't accede to Obama's wishes.
He said he determined that this nurse 24 hours was not exhibiting anything and she's free to leave.
But he was not doing anything in response to President Obama.
Now, Elizabeth Warren on CBS also claimed this morning that Republicans in Congress had voted to cut spending for medical research in the National Institutes of Health, which we know is a blatant lie.
We've spelled this out, I don't know how many times before.
It's old newspapers, too.
But the point, even to take that debate up is a trap.
Because Republicans, we don't believe in big government.
We don't believe in massive spending.
And then to go out and take credit for it kind of, it irritates some people.
But the point is they're lying about it.
Republicans didn't cut any funding for this.
You know, the Democrats are back just today with Republicans want to cut Social Security and cut Medicare.
It's a 50-year-old playbook they're using.
There's a story out of Louisiana that Mary Landrew can't get the black vote to turn out.
Let me, did I print this out?
I think I did.
Go ahead and write here.
Yes, I do.
In Louisiana, 95% of Obama's 2012 black voters skip early voting.
National Review Online, Mary Landrew and state Democrats have convinced less than 15,000 of the 269,000 black voters, about 5.5%, who usually do not vote in midterms to cast their ballot in the early voting period so far.
I mean, the reason for early voting is for the Democrats to have an advantage.
And in Louisiana, they haven't even persuaded the black vote turnout.
Only 5%.
I'm sorry this isn't going to be made up on Election Day.
They don't have enough buses.
They don't have enough walking around money.
Whatever it is they use to get this turnout, they don't have enough of it.
Only 5%.
Let's go to some other information.
The Washington Free Beacon has to report on an ABC News Washington Post poll.
60% of voters have little or no trust in the federal government to do what is right, while 63% say the government's ability to deal with the problem has worsened.
ABC's John Carl said problems for Democrats go beyond just a presidential approval rating.
There's a far larger percentage blame the White House and Democrats in Congress more than they blame Republicans.
Voters are in a sour mood.
Voters in a 63% majority say Obama has made government worse.
The headline of the Washington Post story is: poll, colon, midterm momentum belongs to GOP.
Think about this.
Think about the millions and millions of hours and the millions and millions and millions of dollars spent trashing Republicans that has been going on for whatever period of time you want to judge.
The last decades, the last 10 years, the last five years, the last six months, whatever time period you want to categorize.
Think of all the money.
Think of the coordinated media.
Think of the ads.
Think of all the commentary and analysis on cable TV trashing the Republicans front, back, left, and right.
War on women, racist, sexist, big, and homophobe.
And despite, and with the Republicans not saying a word about anything.
And missed all this, here we got Obama promising to do amnesty.
Here we got Obamacare out there, all these great benefits supposedly, just waiting to implement.
And despite all of that, 63% in a Washington Post poll say they're in a sour mood and that Obama has made government worse.
There are little gems here that if we want to glom onto, we can.
And one of them is this.
We are no longer required to try to persuade people by predicting to them what will happen if Democrats continue to win.
Back in the early days of this program, that was a constant feature.
If the Democrats win, X is going to happen.
If they keep winning, this is going to happen.
Here's what the Democrats are.
It's what they believe.
It's what the country is going to become.
25 years later, it's not theory anymore.
It's not a prediction anymore.
People are living it for the last six years.
And if you want to count Democrat control of the House since 2006, you can see people have hands-on their living it experience with Democrats running government.
Now, this poll, don't misunderstand.
I'm not saying there's been a sea change.
See, this is the problem, because in two years, they could forget all about this, and by the time 2016 comes along, feel it's safe to vote Democrat again.
That's been the pattern.
We've seen this before.
Democrats goof it up every time they get in charge.
Democrats make a mess every time they get in charge.
This just happens to be the worst it's ever been because we've never had this committed an ideologue in the White House.
It's never been worse than it is now, but they always gum up the works.
They always screw up the economy.
The Democrats always ruin the job market.
They just, they make huge messes of things implementing their ideas.
And they lose elections.
But then after a while, people forget it and feel it's safe to go back and vote for him again.
So this time, we would hope, doubt it, would hope that people will remember.
Okay, here you have the biggest Democrat ever, the Messiah, Barack Hussein Obama, who was finally after centuries of trying the answer.
And six years in, 63% think he has made government worse.
Oh, if that only has some staying power.
But you see, in order for that to have staying power, the opposing party is going to have to step up at some point and tell people why Obama has made government worse.
And they're going to have to explain it's not specifically Obama.
It's what Obama and everybody like him believe.
It's their policies.
It's everything they hold dear that has made government worse.
And explain why.
So that someday this has long-lasting meaning rather than just impact on one election.
Have I made myself clear on that?
I mean, this is that your phone or mine?
It can't be my phone because it's all muted in here.
And nobody calls me anyway.
So it had to be your phone.
I heard a phone on an IFB.
But don't worry.
I haven't lost my place.
This is such a golden opportunity.
63.
The Washington Post think Obama's made government worse.
And that's just one story in another story.
House Democrats fret debilitating losses.
This is politico.
The political environment continues to deteriorate for House Democrats ahead of a midterm election that's certain to diminish their ranks.
When Obama's unpopularity, with Obama's unpopularity hindering their candidates, and Republican cash flooding into races across the country, Democrats are increasingly worried that the election will push them deep into the minority and diminish their hopes of winning back the majority in 2016 or beyond.
Looking to contain the damage, the Democrats are pumping money into liberal congressional districts that were long thought to be safe.
Over the last several days, a Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, in addition to continuing to lie about me, has directed resources to maintain seats in Nevada, both of which broke sharply for the president 2000.
Anyway, that's that.
Then there's another CNN poll.
Voters are angry.
This is an entirely different poll.
Three different polls today show basically the same thing.
Nearly 70% of Americans are angry at the direction the country is headed.
53% disapprove of Obama.
And they didn't say 70%, by the way.
7 in 10, nearly 7 in 10 Americans are angry.
That doesn't carry nearly the weight as 70% would carry.
The CNN Orc poll shows that 30% of Americans are very angry, 38% somewhat angry. about the way things are going in the country, while 31% express no anger at all.
CNN polling director Keating Holland notes that the 31% very angry Americans matches the mood of the country in 2010 when Republicans took back control of the House of Representatives.
CNN, the war on women isn't working.
How the war on women is changing.
Sit tight, folks.
Still have only scratched the surface today.
Your guiding light, El Rushbo here, executing assigned host duties flawlessly, zero mistakes.
I got an email.
I checked her and they're, you're being too negative about this election, Rush.
Democrats, this could be sea changes you talk about.
Look, folks, I hope it is.
But look at this story out of New Orleans, Mary Landru.
I threw it here.
95% of Obama 2012 black voters skip early voting, and most of them probably won't vote.
Now, that's good in the sense they're not voting for Democrats, but they're not voting.
They're not experiencing a change in thinking.
They're just mad at the Democrats.
This does not mean they've accepted the Republicans.
They're just ticked off at Mary Lander or whoever.
I mean, we've got to be honest about this.
There are going to be a lot of people voting for Republicans this time around, but it's a protest vote.
I mean, the Republicans not really offering anything about who they are.
I'm not complaining about it.
I know their strategy is to shut up.
The other side's committing suicide.
But at some point, there has to be some teaching going on.
These people have to be told why they're mad.
They're going to have to be, it's going to have to be explained to them.
Okay, you think Obama's made government worse?
Let me tell you why.
You're right.
Here's why.
Bam.
And then start telling them.
But we don't because we're afraid that we're going to be called racist.
You know the drill.
So you've got to keep everything in perspective.
That's why it's a golden opportunity.
And it's the same thing with, I think this Mrs. Clinton business, she's the Democrats are in peril here because of the base they've created and the demands that base has on Democrat candidates.
And that message is dead duck city for them.
Proof Hillary walking back this comment.
Anyway, let me grab a quick call before the first hour comes to screeching halt.
This is Robin in Houston, and I'm glad you called.
Thank you for waiting.
Hello.
Hi, Rush.
Hey.
I called you back in March as the self-proclaimed Rush Revere ambassador.
And so I am excited to stay because the book comes out, and we just can't wait to read it.
And in fact, on Halloween, we're going to pass out candy as well as your books to our trick-or-treaters that come to our door.
You are kidding me.
You're going to get...
Well, that is unbelievable.
Well...
You're going to give out copies of Rush Revere and the American Revolution books along with Candy on Trick-or-Treat.
That's big.
That is huge.
Well, we're trying to get the message out.
And as your unofficial ambassador, what a better way to do it than on Trick-or-Treat?
So if I can inquire, I mean, I'm not trying to, but I mean, how many are you thinking here?
Well, I'm hoping to toss out somewhere around 25, 30 books.
Holy smokes.
Okay, look, Robin, I am sadly out of time for this busy broadcast segment.
Hang on, because if you'll be so kind, I'd like to get contact information from you, from Mr. Snerdley.
Yes.
Good.
25 or 30 books she's got.
Don't hang up, Robin.
That's big.
That's incredible.
I don't know what to say.
I got to take a break.
Back at.
Okay, Hillary Clinton wants to walk back her silly, stupid comment about businesses not creating jobs.
She didn't mean it, but she has been caught.
She's required, as is every other Democrat, she's required to say those kinds of things.
So we'll untangle that.
And lots of other stuff still ahead.
Export Selection
