Welcome to today's edition of the Rush 247 podcast.
That's right, that's right.
And Trey Gowdy's gonna head it up.
And that's gonna make it work.
Baehner just announced a select committee.
That's what I'm talking about to look into Benghazi, a House Select Committee to look into what's going on in Benghazi because the regime keeps lying about it.
And they're gonna put Trey Gowdy in charge of it.
That means there will be no BS permitted by any of the witnesses.
It's Friday.
That's actually good news.
Live from the Southern Command in Sunny South Florida.
It's open line Friday.
Yes, sir, rebob.
Here we are, my friends, ready to wrap up.
Another big broadcasting week on the Rush Limbaugh program and the Excellence in Broadcasting Network open line Friday.
And I'm going to try...
Get to the phones in this hour.
Going to try...
Probably will succeed.
And on Friday, whatever you want to talk about is okay.
It doesn't have to be anything in the news.
It doesn't have to be anything I care about.
We have that rule Monday through Thursday, but we sort of sweep it aside on Friday.
So have you heard of the you heard about the great economic news?
I'm in this is the most amazing.
I can't I'm I'm sorry, folks.
I'm gonna have to come up with some new descriptors, some new descriptives, because uh I'm running out of a most amazing, incredible, unbelievable stunning.
Uh you name it.
The U.S. labor force shrunk by more than 800,000 people in April.
For those of you in Rio Linda, that means 800,000 people stopped looking for work or quit working.
The labor force participation rate declined or decreased to 62%.
That is the lowest it has been since 1978.
What that means is only 62% of Americans of working age have a job.
The number of Americans not working but eating and watching television, probably driving and making cell phone calls.
92 million 594,000.
92 million.
594,000 Americans are not working.
They're all eating.
Nither Limbaugh, what is the big deal about that?
We are competing a country when people don't have a job they should be able to eat.
That used to not be that way, Mr. New Castrati.
Used to have to work to eat.
That's a there's nothing good here, folks.
But despite all of this, the unemployment rate has plunged from 6.7 to 6.3%.
That just doesn't make any sense.
Well, it does if you know how they calculate the number.
They simply don't count the number of people who have given up trying to find a job.
It's that simple.
If you're if you've if you've been out of work for four years or longer and you've given up looking, you don't get counted as unemployed.
So I don't know what number, but the a large percentage of the 92 million 594,000 Americans not working is not counted in the unemployment rate.
But despite all this, let me review this now.
The U.S. labor force shrank by more than 800,000 in April.
The labor force participation rate decreased to 62.
That's the lowest it's been since 1978.
That means 62% of the people working age have a job.
The rest don't, 92 and a half million Americans not working.
And the regime claims that 280,000 jobs are created in April.
And that the unemployment rate has fallen from 6.7 to 6.3%.
Never mind that we were told just yesterday that the new unemployment claims have gone up three weeks in a row and economic growth is one tenth of one percent.
The regime has even revised up the previous two months job numbers by 36,000 jobs again.
I don't know how this is possible.
We were just told that the first quarter GDP was one tenth of one percent.
So none of this adds up now nobody would suggest that the regime is cooking the books in the run up to the midterm elections.
It would never do that.
Except that we know they did do that before the 2012 elections.
I mean, that would be like lying about the death of four Americans in order to win an election.
And they would never do that.
The regime would never lie about how four Americans died.
Just months before an election.
They would never do that, right?
Except that they did.
Yeah.
Hey, dude.
That was like two years ago, dude.
Hey, dude.
Where do we go to get our ambassador back?
You know, we got a bunch of kids in this regime.
We got a bunch of kids that probably shave twice a week and if they wanted to grow a beard, couldn't.
They look like vegans.
No offense, snurdily.
Really?
They're all pajama boys.
Every damn one of them that's a spokesman for whatever department, they look like pajama boys.
These are the guys that got kicked around in junior high and high school are getting their revenge now.
These are the guys that were punk, that were made fun of, laughed at.
they're getting their regime on every uh revenge on everybody.
Anyway there I go bringing up something that happened two years ago what's wrong with dudes like me in Fox News lets us go to the oh before we get to that folks grab somebody 18 this is yesterday in Beverly Hills, California at the Milken Institute Global Conference.
I have attended the Milk and Institute Global Conference I think it was well some years ago I forget last five years this was the place where Leslie Moonvest of CBS admitted that ratings don't matter anymore in late night that hiring the right people is simply about bragging rights buzz and PR.
Magic Johnson found his way to a microphone at the Milk and Institute Global Conference and they were having this discussion about the NBA and every Jim Gray ESPN no no well I think he does sports reporting for Fox now.
Jim Gray said Magic you can go buy the Clippers I've been saying no all the time I think that we'll see what happens I will be owning an NBA team sometimes.
It has to be the right situation is the Clippers the right situation of course well so we're back to magic now maybe he's throwing himself back in the mix for the Clippers here's the answer I've been saying no all the time I think that I think that we'll see what happens I will be owning an NBA team sometime.
It has to be the right situation I've been saying no all the time but I will be owning an NBA team sometime.
I have been saying no all the time but I will be owning an NBA team sometime.
It has to be right situation is the Clippers the right situation of course So will Magic leave his pals at the Guggaheim Partners and join the Oprah and Larry Ellison and David Geffen to partner up and buy the clip.
It's not going to be that easy.
Sterling is not going to make it that easy for these people.
By the way, report Sterling has cancer.
Some people surprised he's still alive.
That's according to New York Post page six.
Not only some people surprised he's still alive, there are other people mad about it.
He's got prostate cancer, and they're wondering why it's taking so long.
I'm not kidding you, it is vicious and now some of the players, some of the Clippers players have not piled on in that way.
Doc Rivers said he only heard about it yesterday and wouldn't wish it on anyone.
A lot of Clippers players feeling expressing sympathy for Sterling.
But there are others out there, primarily in the media, who when they heard that Sterling has cancer, well, he kind of smiled.
We're learning a lot, more than we knew, ladies and gentlemen, about all of the players involved in this mess out there.
Let's focus on the NAA LCP, Los Angeles chapter.
This is the group that had awarded Donald Sterling a lifetime achievement award and was prepared very like in the past week or so was going to award him another Lifetime Achievement Award for a combined donation package of 45,000.
That's how much Sterling had donated the NAA LCP.
The president of the Los Angeles chapter, the NAALCP, quit yesterday in ongoing fallout over racist comments made by Donald Sterling, who had been slated to be honored by the group with another Lifetime Achievement Award.
Citing the scandal over teamowner Donald Sterling's anti-African American rant on a widely circulated audio recording, Leon Jenkins said in a statement posted on the Civil Rights Organization's website that he had caused the NAA LCP negative exposure.
Please be advised that the legacy, history, and reputation NAA LCP is more important to me than the presidency of it.
And in order to separate the LA NAA LCP and the NAALCP nationwide from the negative exposure I have caused the NAALCP, I respectfully resign my position as president of the Los Angeles chapter, the NAALCP.
Had you heard about this, this is not getting a whole lot of cover.
I mean, it's nowhere near the coverage that Sterling got.
When you may be, so what?
The guy quits.
What's news about that?
Wait till you hear why, folks.
The NAALCP said on Sunday it would not honor Sterling at its annual dinner in the wake of his comments, but controversy grew over Sterling's relationship to the LA chapter, which had honored him before, and to which he had donated money.
And the controversy grew despite the news media's efforts to ignore or downplay the NAA LCP's LA chapter history with Sterling.
Lorraine Miller, the interim national president of the nation's oldest civil rights organization, said in the same statement that she had accepted Leon Jenkins' resignation.
Actually, you know, I don't think a nitpicker here, but the uh the NRA is the nation's oldest civil rights organization.
Now that's gonna tick some people off, but owning a firearm is a civil right.
And it's even spelled out in the Bill of Rights.
But why did Leon Jenkins quit?
Well, it says here in the AP he resigned following outrage over a decision he later reversed to give Donald Sterling an award for promoting civil rights.
That's not why.
Regarding the announcement of reacting to the announcement, local activist Earl Ofari Hutchinson said the NAA LCP's LA chapter needed to become fully transparent and accountable to its members and community and not to dubious corporate donors, like Sterling.
And here at the end of the story, it's a story on Leon Jenkins quitting.
You have to read farther than most people ever read a news story to find out why.
How many?
I've been talking about five minutes and I still haven't gotten to why.
I've read every word on purpose.
I know you're out there saying, well, what did he do?
What did you do?
I'm just illustrating for you what it's like if you're reading the news to find out what he did.
Hopefully you will not read Ekvar and find out what he did.
You're just supposed to hear that he quit because of Sterling.
But that's not it.
You see, Leon Jenkins had his own legal problems, which also came into focus this week, but that have not been talked about.
For years, Leon Jenkins, who ran the NAA L CP's LA branch, had been banned from practicing law in California based on allegations of corruption when he was a young judge in Detroit.
Oh, really?
Detroit, huh?
Did you know there was corruption in Detroit?
In 1988, federal prosecutors charged Leon Jenkins with extortion and racketeering conspiracy, saying he requested and received money, jewelry, a handgun, and other gifts to dismiss traffic tickets and other misdemeanors when he was a judge in Detroit.
The guy ended up running the NAALCP LA branch.
Now Jenkins was acquitted after two trials, but in 1991, the Michigan Supreme Court removed him as a judge.
Chief Justice Michael Kavanaugh said at the time he had systematically routinely sold his office and his public trust in April.
Three judges with California State Bar Court denied Jenkins' most recent request to practice law again.
The judges lauded his volunteer work with the NAALCP, but they cited several instances in which they said he misrepresented his finances or other aspects of his personal life.
So he's gone.
He was accepting guns and money and other things in order to dismiss traffic tickets as a judge when in Detroit.
So civil rights leader resigns, caught in scandal over NBA team owners'racist rant.
I'm sorry.
That's not why he's not...
Leon Jenkins isn't gone because of Donald Sterling and his racist rant, but that's what they want you to believe.
So that's that.
We got to take a brief time out.
Sit tight, much more straight ahead, we get back.
Hey, dude!
Hey, dude, where's my workforce?
Nearly a million Americans exited the labor pool.
In April.
That means that taxpayers and people still working have that many more people to support in one fashion or another.
One million people drop out of the labor force in April.
Participation rate plummets to the lowest since 1978.
It's amazing.
Why if the unemployment rate plunged 6.7 to 6.3%?
Why are there more people than ever on food stamps?
And why are there more people and ever on unemployment benefits?
If the unemployment rate keeps coming down.
Now look, folks, I know that the unemployment number.
See, there's a U three, the letter U, the three, and that's the reported number into U6.
And the U6 is never reported.
The U6 number, which is the bureaucratic designation for the number, actually includes those who have given up trying to find a job.
That unemployment rate is at 12 something, I think I saw 12.6%.
Which is the closer, obviously, to reality, but it's even higher than that.
Why is it at 62%?
It just fewer and fewer people working.
Taxes are going up on those who are in order to pay so that those not working.
What did I see the other day?
20% of American families don't have anybody in the family working.
And yet we're told that the economy added.
Oh, here's the AP headline.
U.S. economy adds a strong 288,000 jobs in April.
Now, how is it possible that the economy added 27 or 288,000 jobs?
We were told just yesterday by the AP that the number of Americans applying for unemployment benefits rose last week to the highest level since February, and that the number of people applying for new unemployment benefits has risen three straight weeks.
Oh, you think the same things can be happening simultaneously.
We could be adding 288,000 jobs while losing all these jobs at the same time.
But what's the net number?
It can't possibly be positive.
It doesn't matter.
Doesn't matter.
As far as the low information crowd is concerned, the unemployment rate went down 6.7, 6.3%.
Ooh, man.
We must be humming.
Recovery might finally must be taken off right before the elections.
There is, as we speak, a live joint press conference going on in the Rose Garden between uh President Obama and the German, is she president or prime minister?
I'm not sure which, it's Angela Merkel.
And before it all began, the president said the following in his opening remarks.
We learned that our businesses created 273,000 new jobs last month, all told.
Our businesses have now created 9.2 million new jobs over 50 consecutive months of job growth.
The grit and determination of the American people are moving us forward.
There's plenty more that Congress should be doing.
From raising the minimum wage to creating good construction jobs, rebuilding America.
And I want to work with them wherever I can, but I keep acting on my own wherever I must to make sure every American who works hard has the chance to get ahead.
Unbelievable.
German chancellor.
Merkel is the German chancellor.
I wonder if Obama asked her for one of those new S550 coups.
Well, it's cool looking car if you like two doors coming out in uh I think in December, November, something like that.
It's the kind of thing he would do.
All right.
We learned that our business is created 273,000 new jobs.
This is for the late night comedians.
This is for Yahoo News.
This is for the low information voter, because this is all caca.
We learned that our business created 273,000 new jobs last month.
All told our businesses have created 9.2 million new jobs over 50 consecutive months job growth.
Where he gets this stuff.
Just literally make it up.
The grit and the determination of the American people are moving us forward.
92 and a half million Americans are not working.
We've got fewer Americans working since then we've been since 1978.
There's plenty more that Congress should be doing from raising a minimum wage to creating good construction jobs.
Congress creates good construction jobs.
We are going to rebuild the economy on good construction.
I mean, not to put down construction jobs, but what there's a reason why they are cited.
Because reconstruction jobs are how you rebuild America.
Why do we need to rebuild anything?
I thought we're growing gangbusters here.
I thought, hey, dude, you're leading this country better than anybody ever has.
We've come out of our recession.
We've been in our recovery since 2009.
What is this rebuild America stuff?
And then he said, I want to work with Congress whenever I can, but I will keep acting on my own wherever I must to make sure every American who works hard has the chance to get ahead.
So once again, dear leader wants every American to credit him whenever anything good happens to them because only Obama made it possible.
I'm telling you, this is striking.
None of it's true, folks.
I'm through even shouting about it.
I'm I'm I'm I'm through coming here and say, hey, folks, this guy making I'm just through.
It doesn't, it doesn't matter anymore.
Everything is it's it's nothing is real anymore.
Same thing we were talking about yesterday.
Everything's buzzed, PR, whatever you can make people believe is true.
If it's on television, it's true.
People see it on TV, it happened.
It's a dangerous thing, but nevertheless, it is happening.
Dude, where is my ambassador?
Where do I go to get my ambassador back?
Last night on special report with Brett Baer.
They had a discussion about the Benghazi talking points controversy with former National Security Council spokesman Tommy Vitor, who looks about 19.
Looks like he and Jay Carney were separated at birth.
Brett Bayer said, according to the emails and the timeline, the CIA circulates new talking points after they're removed the mention of Al Qaeda.
And then at 621 on the day the Benghazi attack is happening, the White House, you add a line about the administration warning of September 10th, social media reports calling for demonstrations.
Is that true?
Uh, I believe so.
Did you also change attacks to demonstrations in the talking points?
Uh maybe.
I don't really remember.
You don't remember?
Dude, this was like two years ago.
We're still talking about the most mundane process.
Dude, this is like two years ago.
We're still we're still talking about the most mundane process.
And Bayer said, dude, it's the thing everybody is talking about.
So Vitor goes on, and his objective here is to make it look like anybody interested in this is a nut.
Anybody cares about this is an absolute lunatic.
Dude, it was like two years ago.
We're still talking about the most mundane process.
So Bair said, people on the ground testified that they knew where the ambassador was.
They were very military in their precision.
It was not guys coming to protest.
They had mortars and heavy weapons.
This was a terror attack.
It was not protests.
It was not because of any sort of video.
It was not protest because of what happened in Cairo.
I was in the situation room that night.
Okay, and we didn't know uh where the ambassador was definitively.
In fact, the president in the situation room?
No, and the fact that your network at one time reported that he watched video feed of the attack as it was ongoing is part of what I think has been a pattern of inaccurate in the White House.
Now, this is fascinating.
You see, because the the the administration line on this for the last two years has been this.
This a Fox News story.
Nobody but Fox cares about this.
This a Fox story.
The other networks know there's nothing here.
This is just get Obama time.
The GOP's become the Get Obama Party, and Fox is the agent of the Get Obama Party, and that's all you guys care about.
This is a Fox News story.
Come on, dude.
Nobody's talking about this anymore.
I was in the situation room that night.
And we didn't, we didn't know where the ambassador definitely was.
And then Baer says was the president in the situation room and Vitor.
I think without thinking.
Because he's so he's so focused on humiliating and embarrassing Bair and Fox here.
Because remember, where Obama was still remains one of the big questions.
So Brett Bear says was the president in the situation room.
Vitor said no.
In effect, your network at one time reported that he watched video feed of the attack as it was going on is part of what I think has been a pattern of inaccurate.
And Bayer said, well, okay, let me ask it to the bottom of it then.
Was the president in the White House?
President was not in the situation room.
Now I don't know about you.
But that's pretty big to me.
You have a United States consulate under assault.
You have an ambassador under assault, whether they knew where he was specifically at any moment in time or not.
The president knew full well he'd been told by Hillary and Leon Panetta the last time we knew it was 5 p.m.
And then after that, he's off the grid.
And Vitor says, no, he wasn't in the situation room.
And he thinks that he's got Fox over a barrel by pointing out you guys once reported it.
The President watched video a live feedman situation room.
Well, he wasn't even in the situation room.
So Vitor thinks, aha, scored a point.
I showed that Fox was wrong.
In the process, Vitor has admitted the president didn't care enough to show up to the situation room to follow what was going on.
So then Baer, who was undeterred, well, was he in the White House?
Now this, I think this is why we had the soundbite earlier from Joe Klein and Jeff Greenfield at the 92nd Street Y. And they both said that the only real newscast left in America is this show, the Brett Bair 6 p.m.
News Hour on Fox.
And I think this is one of the reasons why they said it.
Brett Bayer kept pursuing.
Had he nominated a deb or not uh moderated a debate.
If Brett Bair had hosted that presidential debate where this came up, he would have asked Obama this question, as opposed to Candy Crowley who didn't care.
He would have asked, where were you, Mr. President when Benghazi was going down?
Were you in the White House?
Were you in the situation?
Where were you?
Well, he asked Tommy Vitor.
They continued talking, and Brett Baer continued to try to find out where the president was.
Where was the president?
In the White House.
He wasn't in the situation room.
Uh at what point in the evening?
I mean, he was constantly in the evening.
When Hillary Clinton talks to him by phone at 10 p.m., he's where?
I don't know.
I don't have a tracking device on him in the residence.
But you were in the situation room and he wasn't there.
Yes, I was in the White House.
And the president was not in the situation room.
Not in the room I was in.
Do you hear the um I don't know, snarky attitude from this little guy?
Now I know these people think Fox is the enemy.
I understand all that.
I understand human nature.
But this is the White House.
This is beneath.
This is not adult behavior.
This snarky kid, an Uber ultra-leftist, who buys into this notion that Fox is the focus of modern evil, and that everything they do is a lie.
And everything they do is made up.
This little guy believes every word of that.
He's no different than somebody posting blind, nameless, idiotic thoughts on Twitter 50,000 times a day.
I don't even want to do it in press.
Just listen to the smarmy, snarky, almost arrogant condescension tone in Vitor's voice.
Bret Bear again says, where was the president?
Where was the president?
In the White House.
He wasn't in the situation room.
Uh at what point in the evening?
I mean, he was calling it a couple of things.
Any point in the evening.
When Hillary Clinton talks to him by phone at 10 p.m., he's where?
I don't know.
I don't have a tracking device on him in the residence.
But you were in the situation room and I wasn't there.
Yes.
I was in the White House.
And the president was not in the situation room.
Not in the room I was in.
I don't know.
I don't have a tracking device.
I don't keep track of it.
I don't know where he is.
I don't care.
Why do you care?
He's just an idiot.
He's just a right-wing nut.
I don't care where he is.
What does it matter where he is?
Why are we even talking about Miyazi, dude?
It was two years ago.
Dude, what are we even talking about for?
I don't know.
I don't know.
I don't care where it was.
I was in a situation room, but he wasn't there.
I can't track him in the residents.
I have no idea what he's doing.
Why do you that kind of smarminess?
I don't know.
Just this arrogant condescension.
No, that though those are too human characteristic.
It just rubbed me raw.
So this little pajama boy guy.
He was in a situation room, but Obama wasn't.
So pajama boy number three was in the situation.
He knew where the president was.
He was in the situation.
Some little former spokesman was in there, but they don't know where Obama was.
And they didn't know where the ambassador was.
I don't know where he was.
I have tracking device, president.
I don't know where you think.
I don't know, and you can't make me tell you.
I actually know where he was, but I'm not going to tell you.
You can't make me tell you.
You can spank me do everyone.
You can you can send me the corner and and and make me eat my peace, but I'm not going to tell you.
Let's uh let's hit the phones.
Nancy, Cape Coral, Florida.
I'm glad you called.
Welcome to the EIB network.
Hi.
Hi, Rosh.
Thank you.
I am so thrilled to speak to you.
And um, I'll get right to the point.
I am so disgusted with this little detour to begin with, but he's just the latest of the chain of many of bald-faced liars.
They sit in their chairs and they lie to us the American people, and they forget that they work for us.
We pay them.
They are there to answer our questions and tell us the truth.
And all they do is lie.
And it it starts at the top and it keeps working its way all the way down.
And it's just it's disgusting to look at it.
And then they say, oh, Fox News is the only one that, you know, is talking about this, so it not must not be newsworthy.
Fox News is news.
They are the only news.
The other the rest of them don't talk about it because they're afraid because they're all in the same corner.
And I'm just sick and tired of listening to these people lie to me.
Um I don't know what to do about it, but um I'm glad you're there.
Well helping us understand it.
That's really all you need is me here every day, keep you sane, because that's about as much as we can hope for.
But uh one thing I want to help you out with is that this this Vitor, these people, you name they don't they don't think that they work for you or me.
They they they work for Obama, and their jobs protect him, not to tell you the truth.
You have to understand these people are all real Uber leftists.
And as such, Nancy, they don't really think much of you.
Your average, everyday leftist has contempt for what he thinks is the idiot Doomkoff, average American citizen.
By the time you put these people in positions of bureaucratic power like this, they have arrogance and condescension.
And they really, really think that you you can't even keep up with them, even if they would respect you.
You're not smart enough to know what they do and how they do it.
And so the idea that they work for you and owe you anything, ha ha.
What an idiot you are.
That's not why they're there.
In this regime's case, they are there specifically to make sure you don't find out what really goes on.
They're there to make sure that you only get the PR spun buzz version of what, like Obama today, making the unemployment number look like we've got one of the biggest roaring economic recoveries ever happening out there that we are all in the midst of when the reality is worse than the opposite.
92.5 million's not a million Americans not working.
The labor force participation rate lower than it's been since 1978, or as low, lowest since 1978.
Obama care is robbing people of disposable income, people's wages are stagnant.
The reality is not good.
So they can't tell you the reality.
They can't respect you enough to tell you the truth.
No, no, no.
They've got to lie to you, tell you what you know isn't true.
They create this buzz-spin reality that they hope low information voters glom onto and are inspired to go vote in November because of.
I said back on October 24th last year that what we're watching here is the equivalent of Woodward and Bernstein help cover up Watergate.
The drive-by's lack of interest in Benghazi is no different.
And Woodward and Bernstein helping Nixon cover up Watergate.
That is what's going on.
And when these guys in the media say it's a Fox story.
