Welcome to today's edition of the Rush 24-7 podcast.
I wonder what the deal clincher was.
I wonder, did Obama promise the Supreme Leader of Iran that if he liked his health care plan he could keep it?
What was it that cinched this deal?
Man, oh man, oh man.
These people will do anything to distract us from how bad Obamacare is, including let the Iranians get a nuclear weapon down the road.
It's unbelievable.
And you know what they're counting on?
They're counting on the fact that most people don't care about Iran.
They're counting on the fact that there's a libertarian view out there.
Who are we to say that Iran can't have a nuke?
And by the way, that's an attitude not just the libertarians have.
That's the kind of rigmarole that's taught in the public school system today.
Who are we to say who can't have a nuclear weapon?
I mean, after all, we have one.
What gives us the right to tell those people they can't have one?
Who do we think we are?
That's the kind of stuff that's taught.
But I guarantee Obama's counting on the fact that people aren't going to care.
And he doesn't care about Syria.
Why are they going to care about this?
Iran, what's once Iran?
Doesn't matter.
The sad thing.
Most people don't even uh don't even know.
I had a by the way, greetings, uh, my friends.
Great to have you here.
It's El Rushbow.
And Thanksgiving week.
Uh which, by the way, you better not go anywhere.
I'm watching CNN, and it's gonna rain.
And you, it's gonna be so bad, you might not be able to get to grandma's house, no matter you go through the woods or on the highways.
It's just so bad out there.
It's so typical.
Every Thanksgiving, it seems like there is a killer storm that's gonna all kinds of delays and problems.
It's standard operating procedure.
The busiest travel day of the year is the day before Thanksgiving and then the Sunday after it.
And yet, no matter where you look in the drive-by, there's a mixed rain and snowstorm that could just gum up the works, and nobody could get where could be people stranded for three weeks.
Well, they're not saying that, but that's what they're implying.
I mean, just it just it's so predictable.
Yeah, I was I was chatting, folks, uh, with some friends over the weekend and uh in email, and it was about this Iran deal.
And there were some some friends of mine that were genuinely distraught over this.
As they should be.
Everybody, this is this is terrible what what's being done here.
I mean, these people are no different than the North Koreans, except they say they are.
But I mean, the the the Iranians lie like I guess liars believe liars.
Is that how this works?
But I in this exchange back and forth with some friends, I posited the following.
And it's pretty much what I just said.
I said, well, you gotta understand that that uh most people haven't been told why Iran getting a nuclear weapon is a bad deal.
In fact, most people haven't been told that Iran's trying to get a nuclear weapon.
And and one of the guys replied, I found this is profound.
And I think it illustrates exactly where we are.
He said the American people shouldn't have to be told.
We are Americans.
We understand these things.
And I looked at it and I said, yeah, in the good old days, that was true.
But at the moment, the American people have to be told or they don't know it.
And that's why the fact that the media is nothing, literally nothing more than a PR firm for Barack Obama, the Democrat Party.
That's really all they are.
That's the only way that you can understand the media.
They're not journalists, they don't do news.
They are a giant public relations firm because they're fellow travelers.
They're Democrats, they're liberals, they're leftists, and their sole focus is protecting Obama.
Their sole focus is how does Obama look?
Their sole focus is how can we save Obama if he gets in trouble?
Their sole focus is how can we build up or they're a PR firm?
They're crisis management firm, PR firm, they're image makers.
That's all they are.
And if they can't do positive things for their guy, then they rip us to shreds as an alternative.
But I'm all confused.
See, because this is the way I look at this.
See, I thought all the talk last week about the nuclear option was about the Democrats killing the filibuster in the Senate.
Now it turns out that it's Obama's foreign policy toward Iran.
We're going to give them the nuclear option.
I know many of you in the Russian why do you think it's a bad deal?
Because Obama did it.
And I realize that that's simplistic for a lot of you.
Not all of you, but for some of you, I really that's not an answer.
That's not yes, it is.
It's plenty for me.
Obama did it.
What could somebody what good has he done?
You know, there's something else I'm getting weary of.
I see it everywhere.
It's the analogy that, you know, if a Republican were in the White House, do you realize how this would be covered?
And it's on everything.
If Bush had made this deal, fill in the blank.
Another one.
Do you remember how the drive-bys in 2006 and 2007, 2008 were trying to talk down the economy to create in everybody's minds a recession?
At the time we had 4.7% unemployment, statistically full employment.
And the media is on a mission to secure defeat.
And when I say the media, the Democrat Party is on a mission to secure defeat in Iraq and hang that around Bush's neck.
They are trying to talk down the economy into a recession.
All of this to set up the election of a Democrat president, whoever did that time, Hillary or Obama.
And at the same time, Wall Street was very healthy.
Remember all the reports?
Yeah, Bush's fat cat buddies on Wall Street, his oil buddies.
Look at them making out like bandits and main streets dying.
What's different today?
Wall Street's doing better than ever.
Main streets closed.
The Democrat Party is about to take over or has taken over, one sixth of the U.S. economy, and they don't know what to do with it.
And if a Republican were in office and this happened, everybody makes that analogy.
Everybody knows it.
Yet it doesn't matter.
It doesn't seem to have any impact.
Everybody knows the analogy.
Everybody uses it.
So everybody knows that the media is dishonest.
Everybody knows that the media has chosen sides.
And yet the media still gets away with being the referee.
They still get away with being the determining factor in whether somebody knows something or doesn't.
And this Iranian business.
Yeah, the American people should know without having to be told exactly.
But how a culture that is obsessed with Kanye West, Miley Cyrus, and a kitten behind her at the American Music Awards.
And Kim Kardashian how in the world do you expect them to get all bent out of shape about what's happening in Iran?
And who can blame people for being confused?
Only a month or two ago, Obama wanted to go to war to destroy Syria's weapons of mass destruction.
And now Obama has Iran, who are Syria's masters.
He's given them the green light to go ahead with their own weapons of mass destruction program.
How times change in just a matter of months.
Maybe it was a year ago, when I drew the red line and he denied drawing the red line.
He drew the red line and he said, You cross that red line, you got me to deal with.
Today, he erected a green light.
He erased the red line, he erected a green light, gave it to the Mullers, probably promised the Supreme Leader that he could keep his health care plan if he likes it as a bonus.
Yeah, when John Kerry is involved, don't tell me that it's good.
And by the way, I've got a stack of stuff I give all kinds of people from both sides of the aisle who think this is very dangerous and very bad.
Such personages as Professor Dershowitz and Ambassador Bolton.
And the story of a bunch of Democrats don't like this.
It's a Chuck Hugh Schumer, Luke Walkers of Israel.
This is bipartisan.
What's the word?
Bipartisan fear over what this could ultimately mean.
Because we're dealing with the Iranians.
They are state sponsors of terrorism.
And they are liars.
So I guess the reason for this abrupt change in policy is that.
Well, again, you get the Syria business.
And I mean, he just that was to distract us from what?
The IRS scandal.
We were the red line and were banging the war drums with Syria, and that was to distract us from the IRS scandal.
Then the NSA scandal and the Department of Justice wiretapping reporters scandal, and we had the Benghazi scandal, and now Obama's trying to distract us from the Obamacare scandal with this Iranian deal.
And that I firmly believe.
And Obamacare is making all these other scandals look like a walk in the park.
So that you you know Obama had to go big.
And what could be bigger than giving your country's most implacable enemy the green light to build the bomb.
Do you realize we remove sanctions?
We're going to pay them.
What is it?
11 billion dollars we're going to give these people?
Ostensibly to make up for lost ground during the sanctions.
I mean, Obama's playing like he's a Republican here.
We don't want to show the Iranians we're nice people.
But I tell you, it's a good thing.
It's a good thing that Obama announced this historic deal with Iran, because after all, even the drive-bys were beginning to notice that it wasn't November 22nd anymore.
Talking about the 50th anniversary of the JFK assassination was starting to get a little stale after a solid week, so they had to move on to something else, and bingo, here comes Iran.
And we find out there's been going on for six months in private.
Not even the Israelis knew.
They had to find out via their own intel agencies.
Here's another thing.
If it wasn't for this Iranian deal, the reporters at CNN would be spending all their time today talking about Miley Cyrus at the American Music Awards and how shocking the kitty cat behind her was.
Instead, they've got a poll that is devastating for Obama, and they are beside themselves at CNN, so they're spending a lot of time trying to tell you how you're not going to be able to get where you're going on Thanksgiving if you happen to live in this little swath of geography in the eastern seaboard.
So it just, if you know how to read this stuff, you know how to, if you know who Obama is, if you know who the Democrats are, if you know who liberals are and how they operate all of this becomes clear.
This story out of Greece.
This is from new scientists.
The impact of recession is clear in countries with the most severe economic problems.
In Greece, for example, suicides rose by 17%.
Murder rates more than doubled between 2007 and 2011.
And get this.
Half of new HIV infections.
That'd be AIDS for those of you in Rio Linda.
Half.
Are you sitting down for this?
If you want to know what the welfare state does to people.
Snerdley, you listen to this, I want you to look.
Half of new HIV infections in Greece between 2009 and 2011 are estimated to have been self-inflicted to secure 700 euros per month in benefits.
It may seem completely insane, but according to one study for the World Health Organization, that's the UN, and they are never wrong, right?
Half of all new AIDS, HIV infections in Greece are self-inflicted so that Greeks can collect about 945 dollars a month, 700 euros in welfare payments.
Michael Marmott at University College London, who co-wrote the report for the World Health Organization, warns that the inequities in income and wealth threaten the long-term health of future generations unless governments take action to reverse cuts in health care spending.
And so you see the inequities in wealth and income in Western society is the problem of the government.
And this is leading to some people experiencing cuts in welfare benefits.
And to make up the difference, Greeks are self-inflicting themselves with HIV.
And it's all the fault of government, according to the UN.
It's all the fault of the Greek government.
And so the people, ignorant though they are, blissfully ignorant though they are, they're always victims.
They are always innocent.
They never have one responsibility, not one iota of responsibility in any aspect of their lives.
Is that true?
Greece is like the gay capital of the world.
You heard that?
I just had a you know a note flashed to me that says, well, I don't know about that, but the World Health Organization is saying half of new HIV infections in Greece are self-inflicted for $945 a month.
How are you?
It's great to have you.
Rush Lib off Thanksgiving week.
We are here, ladies and gentlemen, Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday of this week.
And on Thursday, we're going to do something a little different from uh from normal.
I'll tell you about that as the program unfolds today.
From Mother Jones, the uh well-known leftist radical publication.
A morning after pill, uh, otherwise known as Plan B doesn't work for women over 176 pounds.
That's right.
You cannot mourning after your mistakes if you weigh over 176 pounds.
Or 178, right, you're cooked, you're done.
The European manufacture of an emergency contraceptive pill, identical to plan B, also known as the morning after pill, will warn women that the drug is completely ineffective for women who weigh more than 176 pounds and begins to lose effectiveness in women who weigh more than 165 pounds.
It says here that this development has implications for American women too.
Weight data from the Centers for Disease Control suggests that at 166 pounds, the average American woman is too heavy to use these pills effectively.
So European women can get away with it up to 176 pounds for some reason, but American women the uh effectiveness or lack of effectiveness kicks in at 166 pounds.
So American women are discriminated against by the plan B pill by 10 pounds.
Which you go to the doctor, and the doctor's gonna say, you know what?
You're not only fat, you're pregnant, and plan B won't work for you.
And then you're gonna be directed to Michelle My Bell's uh uh what is it uh Let's Move program?
So I'm sorry to bring this news to you um hefty American women, but it may not even be a factor, who knows?
What is the percentage?
Let's just use anecdotal evidence, because that's all we got here.
I want you to put your mind to something.
You're walking around, let's say you're in the mall.
Let's say you're at the bowling alley, let's say you're at the grocery store.
Let's say you are uh the movies, you're anywhere out there in public, just as you best you can recall when you gaze at the people that you see, how many of the people that you see are overweight?
And then let's let's narrow that.
How many of the women do you see that are overweight?
I'm not asking for anybody to admit this in public.
I just you know in your mind what the answer is.
When you're out there, you're looking around, wherever you happen to be, you're gazing upon the average American crowd.
There's a lot of overweight out there, right?
There's a lot of female overweight, and then if you wanted to go ethnic, you can ask yourself, okay, how's it how does it break down by demographic group, which is how the Democrats want us all to see each other.
So then you hear the news that the morning after pill plan B, which is a guaranteed promise in Obamacare, by the way, everybody has to buy it for you.
In fact, I've got it in the in the health care stack today.
There must be three, if there may be four stories from people who believed Obama's promise and then found out that not only are they not being charged $2,500 less for their premiums, and they don't get to keep their plan of their doctor, they're finding out that their costs are doubling and tripling.
And they're livid, they're mad.
Well, the American people should have known.
We're Americans, we should know this.
And I agree.
But try as hard as so many of us did.
We told them for three years what the truth of this Obamacare was going to be, but it's like anything else.
They had to experience it.
They didn't want to believe it.
And there's more and more of these stories of people finding this out.
And one of the things that they're finding, one of the examples in this stack is of a 41-year-old woman who is being forced to buy maternity coverage.
She's 41, she's not going to have another child.
She has her family, and she's told that the reason her old plan doesn't qualify is because it doesn't have maternity care and birth control.
Contraception.
Doesn't matter.
You have to buy it.
Well, now let's take it for that.
Now we have learned that American women, 166 pounds and up.
The plan B pill doesn't work.
What will their option be?
166, 170 pound woman pregnant.
She wants to go in and get her morning after pill.
And then she's told, sorry, you're too big.
You're too heavy.
It won't work.
What are her options?
Well, she can either go on a diet or she can get an abortion.
So what are the possibilities that planned parenthood injected some kind of a germ into these pills to make them not work on women over 166 pounds?
And I like putting my own conspiracy theories out there just to toy with people.
But in Planned Parenthood's going to be a clear beneficiary here of this little factoid about plan B not working in women over 166 pounds.
Just a little thought.
Why can't they just take two pills if they're 166 pounds?
Oh, because the policy doesn't cover that.
I don't know.
I still like my conspiracy theory.
Planned parenthood put this into the pills so they would not go out of business.
Plan B, I mean, the morning after pill, that's not good for Planned Parenthood.
That's not good for people that make their money off abortion.
Why would anybody want plan B to be taken by everybody if you're in the abortion business?
Speaking of which, what was it?
There's a point in here.
Oh, we were spending, I spent a lot of time in the third hour on Friday explaining why everybody's premiums are going to skyrocket.
Because the number one demographic for Obamacare is not signing up.
And that's the millennials.
The whole thing hinges.
Obamacare really hinges on people between 18 and 35 signing up.
Amen.
The theory is that they're young, they're healthy, and they're working.
And they, like everybody else, want health care.
They've been scared into believing that one hacking cough could lead to bankruptcy.
So that the theory is this is this is how dumb the people that wrote this plan are, is my point.
This is how dumb they are.
They devise a scheme whereby the premiums of millennials are necessary for the whole thing to work.
The millennials, young, healthy, paying high premiums by law, but making no claims, i.e., not accessing health care, i.e., paying a lot of money in, but not having any spent on them because they're healthy.
Those premiums were then to subsidize the sick and the elderly and so forth.
But there are two things.
The people that wrote this plan also wrote that half of that group can stay on their parents' policy till they're 26.
Now, what kind of brain does that?
You have here a plan that requires people between 18 and 35 signing up and paying a higher than normal premium, and yet, on the other hand, you write that they can stay on their parents' policy till they're 26.
Plain stupid.
Then the second stupid thing is why in the world do you assume that these people are going to have high-paying jobs in the president's economy?
It's just dumb.
It's just plain stupid, or is it?
Because ultimately it won't work.
The millennials don't have the money.
They don't have the desire.
They don't want to sign up for health care.
They're going to choose the penalty, which will be much less than the cost prohibitive premium.
This is designed not to work.
So you either have rampant stupidity behind the authorship of this thing, or you have people who wrote something they knew wouldn't work on Purpose creating chaos and panic in the minds of the people and then demanding a solution.
Which, of course, Obama will be right there with his single payer solution.
Let's just put everybody on Medicaid and be done with it.
So it's however you want to look at it.
It's either smart, brilliant, or it's absolutely asinine.
What?
Yeah, I think that's probably better said.
I think Obama probably promised the mullahs that if they like their nuclear weapons, they'll be able to keep them.
That's probably how, yeah.
Yeah.
By the way, for you millennials out there, CNN has the bad news.
A CNN analysis of the basic tenets of Obamacare shows that in the largest city in nearly every state, many low-income younger Americans will not get any subsidy at all in Obamacare.
Regime officials said that the reason so many Americans won't get a subsidy is that the cost of insurance is lower than the government initially expected.
And the uh and and the regime is saying the young can afford it.
So there's no subsidy for you millennials.
You're it's right here in CNN.
They say you can afford it.
You can't afford it.
Most of you do not have career jobs.
Most of you came out of college and you still can't find anything.
The Obama economy.
You know, folks, I've told you countless times, probably to the point of uh boredom, that I, as a hobby, read a lot of high-tech news, gadget news, blogs, and so forth.
And I can't help, I I don't I read it to find the latest information on the on the gadgets that I like, and I read this stuff to find out what's coming.
I I like the rumors.
I like the gossip in high tech about the gadgets.
But in the process, you can't, I can't avoid encountering liberalism everywhere in these blogs.
And it's become a it's a fascinating case study for me.
Because these are, again, remember my conversation over the weekend with a friend about the Iranian deal, when I when I posited, and most people don't even know.
No Iran, nukes, why?
What's the big deal to the extent that they know about it, they think it's unfair that we should deny Iran the right to have a nuke.
If we can have one, why can't they blah blah?
And the reaction I got, the response was we're Americans.
We shouldn't have to be told these things.
We should know these.
Well, that's absolutely right.
But one of the things I've noticed in reading the tech blogs, these are these are millennials, these are young people.
They're uh they they think they're journalists, but they all, not all, don't read them all.
But the vast majority of the ones I read, all of these people think that they're scientists because of their pursuit of technology and the related computer sciences.
They do think that they're all scientists or scientifically oriented, as such, they believe everything governments say about global warming.
That's and that's another thing.
They I have found that they all accept the word of government as gospel, whatever it is.
Health care, global warming, you name it, if the government says it, it's true.
So these are, and I'm guessing that these are people in their 20s, maybe some of them are a little older, but it's how they've been educated, and in many cases, raised.
The government is the authority.
And so if the UN is a government, and whatever they say about global war, it's true.
In fact, there's there's no skepticism at all of anything that I ever encounter.
Maybe a couple of sites have people that are skeptics of this stuff, but almost universally, if the government says that it's gospel, there's no questioning.
There's not, there's no suspicion whatsoever.
And if they are hit with such skepticism by others, it doesn't compute.
They don't get it.
And so global warming is definite.
It's caused by man.
And well, that's my point.
Why am I reading about that in a in a gadget tech blog?
That's exact a good question.
But they're all over the place.
And I'm telling you, they are as liberal as the sports media is as the news media is.
It's actually fascinating.
And I engage in this as a study to find out what we're up against and what what kind of things that we'd have to succeed in changing to make any real progress.
So I thought of okay, how can I explain Obamacare in a way that they would understand?
My buddy Andy McCarthy had a just fabulous piece.
Over the weekend, he's his great pieces are posted on Saturday at National Review Online.
And it this piece had to do with the scheme behind Obamacare, the mechanism, you know, how are they doing?
He examines the lies, and if you like your doctor, keep your doctor and all that, but the scheme, what it was a great piece.
And I wrote him a note back, and I said, Andy, what you've described here, and so I want to share with you what I wrote, because as an attempt here, a meager, I'm sure flailing attempt, to explain to these star struck, I mean, Obama's the beginning and the end of the world with these young people at these places.
Now, I know this there's some fallout starting to happen everywhere with Obama.
I mean, the blooms off the road, and I'm not denying that.
But still, there with a large group of them, it's fascinating, folks.
It really is.
Government never wrong.
Final authority, government says it, that's it.
Even if it means the only thing they're upset about, the only thing is the NSA spying thing.
They just can't believe Obama would do that.
Anything else?
Gospel.
So what is as a means of trying to explain a tech world Obamacare?
Obamacare is essentially a computer virus, knowingly sold as clean software to trusting customers.
And as this virus crashes people's computers, and by the way, while it collects all of their private data while this is happening, and it promises to improve their system,
while this virus is knowingly sold as clean software that improves your operating system and makes you more productive and makes it cheaper, as the virus crashes people's computers while collecting all their permit private personal data at the same time, the regime still markets and sells and distributes it even while the virus is crashing people's computers.
Then, when everyone's computers crash, the regime offers their solution to people with crashed computers, and that is brand new software installed by the regime that only has one operating system.
The regime's operating system.
And the only way you'll be able to use your computer is through the regime's operating system.
Your only options are what they make available.
Thus, single-payer socialized Internet.
Single-payer socialized medicine.
Obamacare is a virus.
It is being...
It's a destruction...
It's tearing everybody's computer, i.e., health care apart.
And while this has happened, the regime continues to sell and market it and distribute it.
While people's computers continue to crash, people's health care continues to crash.
The people who can fix your computer leave the industry.
Doctors leaving healthcare.
It's a little bit more involved than that, but that's just a brief analogy.
