We're going to be getting your phone calls in this hour.
Sit tight, hang in there and be tough.
If you want to send an email, feel free, lrushbo at eibnet.com.
I just got, I haven't seen it yet.
I just got a flash note, email, that Gallup has dropped Obama's approval numbers into the 30s.
I do not have the precise number, but I guess it's the high 30s.
I don't know what the number is.
It's going to be soon released.
This is the Gallup daily approval number, Obama in the high 30s.
Now, and remember, this is territory exclusive of George W. Bush.
Now, 39%.
The Go-Go website has Obama's approval at 39%, even as we speak.
Remember Wolf Blitzer?
I don't need the audio time for that.
But Wolf Blitzer for two hours going on and on and on about a new law for George W. Bush at 36%.
Breaking news at CNN.
It's another number in a Gallup poll, a CNN poll, and George Bush at 36%.
Well, Obama's at 39%.
Now, I want to address something here, and I might botch it at first.
But I just got an email during the break, and the subject line was, I'm skeptical.
Well, you say there are going to be ramifications.
There aren't going to be any ramifications.
Obama's not going to get hurt by any of this.
I mean, it's America.
It was nice while it lasted.
And I had an email exchange with some friends today about an admission that I made to them about my naivete.
One of the things that I have been really naive about, I'm sad to admit this, for the entire 25-plus years I've been doing this, I have been under the impression that whether you call them Republicans or whether you call them conservative,
that there are people fighting the left, trying to stop them, trying to educate and inform people so as to reverse this.
And I have, frankly, this is my naivete.
I've been shocked to learn how few people actually are doing that on our side.
I mean, it's obvious at this moment now, there's no pushback for the Republican Party on any of this.
And in fact, when there is pushback to any of this by conservatives, oftentimes they are attacked by the Republican establishment.
But I've been asking myself, I interviewed a guy once who wrote a book about how the left has corrupted education.
And the book was replete with examples, and it was devastating.
It was a great book about how the left is totally corrupted and bastardized, not just public, but all the way up to college education.
And in the course of the interview, I said, well, how long do you think this is going to last?
I mean, how long is it going to take us to retake this?
And he was totally flummoxed.
He said, what do you mean, retake it?
And I said, well, when are we going to kick them out and regain control of the education system?
He was totally flummoxed, had no concept of, I said, well, why did you write the book?
I mean, why spend the time and the effort of writing a book detailing all the corruption of education by the left if the purpose isn't to reverse it?
Oh, well, that rush, we're not going to be able to ever do that.
I said, well, then what am I doing here?
I talked to another, this is years ago, I talked to at the time an editor of a famous conservative journal of opinion.
I said, how long do you think it might be realistically before we can educate people to the left and assume a dominant position as conservatives?
Oh, Rush, I don't know.
That's never going to happen.
I said, well, then what are you doing?
What you're doing?
Why are you, what are you doing?
Why do you want to run a magazine here?
Well, we're just chronicling what's happening.
We're a journal of opinion.
But is there anything behind your opinion?
Anybody can tell you what they think.
I mean, what's the what?
What is the, what's the point?
I mean, I have to tell you, my purpose here every day is to beat this stuff back.
And I've been honest with you up front about my objective, and that is to create as large an informed, participating voting block of citizenry possible.
I know I'm just one show.
I don't expect to be able to convert the whole country, but I've always thought of myself as part of a team effort.
And I've been shocked.
This is my naivete.
I've been shocked to learn how few people actually approach this with that objective in mind.
And I'm not exaggerating this at all.
I am stunned at the number of people who simply want to commentate.
Simply, well, this is who the left is and this is what they're doing and then leave it at that.
Why are you doing it?
You know, when I started this program, I mean, it was to be a success on the radio.
I had multiple reasons for doing this.
That was the first one, because if I didn't pull that off, all the rest of it would never happen.
But I'm not just uttering syllables here.
I'm not just talking to hear my head rattle.
I'm actually, I passionately believe what I believe.
I'm very proud of what I believe.
I think it's worth being a majority opinion in the country, trying to affect that.
That is why I wrote this book for kids.
Rush Revere and the Brave Pilgrims, the whole point of this book is not to have another book out there.
I really couldn't care less about having another book.
I've been there, done that.
The express purpose of this book is to reach people that the radio show doesn't, young people, a younger Democrat, and their parents and their grandparents to try to counter some of the crap that they're being taught when they go to school.
It's an attempt to correct the historical record that's been corrupted in schools just to get the truth.
Nothing complicated, nothing controversial, just the truth.
In this case, in this book, it's the pilgrims because they were the forerunners of the establishment of the United States of America.
They, unbeknownst to them, were laying down a pathway for people.
And I look at how their story has been lied about and corrupted itself, how people have blamed the early arrivals for all the problems that exist here in this country and around the world.
And I just, it's not enough just to tell people what I think.
I'm actually trying to affect some change with it.
And I've been stunned to find out that I'm in a real small minority of people with this attitude.
And this is my naivete.
So I get an email.
Well, I'm skeptical.
Obama's, there's not going to be any ramifications of this lie.
Obama's going to get away with it.
Okay, fine.
You want to give up?
Give up.
Why do this then?
I mean, I've already proven that I can do the number one radio show for 25 years.
I got nothing left to prove there.
I've already proven I can attract and hold an audience and charge confiscatory advertising rates.
So why am I doing this?
This is all about honest passion, deep love and caring and appreciation for a thing, a country, and the people who live in it, and the abject fear I have of what's happening to it and making some sort of little effort here to stopping it and maybe reversing it.
And I've been under the impression that everybody on my side is doing the same.
That is why, over the 25 years, when anybody, any conservative, it's been Ollie North, you and I don't care who it is, when they've come under assault, I've been in Clarence Thomas.
I don't care whether I knew him or not.
I ran in there and I defended them to the hilt because of the cause, because I knew exactly why they were being targeted.
Sarah Palin went in there to defend these people because I know that it's an effort to undermine everything I believe.
They attacked Palin, they attacked Ollie, they attacked Clarence Thomas.
They're attacking us, me.
Well, it's not enough just to come here and tell you, oh, look what they're saying about Palin.
See if folks have a great day.
Then tomorrow, oh, look what they said about Newton.
Okay, see if folks have a great day.
Why am I doing this?
And the reason I wrote this book is to try to counter what's going on.
Why would you write a book on how the left has corrupted education if you didn't have some desire to fight it?
And this is what has frankly stunned me ever since Barack Obama's election.
I understand there's a fear of the media, and I understand there's a fear of Obama's race, but it's time to get past that.
The guy's president.
He's destroying the foundations of this country as founded.
He's literally setting his sights on transforming this country into something it was never founded to be.
And I don't think that should happen.
And I've been under the impression that everybody else that's not part of the Democrat Party has been of the same mindset.
And that's where I've been wrong.
And so those of us who fight back upset the apple cart are those who just want to sit there and accept it and try to manage their lives and careers in the midst of this mess because we're upsetting the apple cart.
So we have to then be attacked as whatever.
That's why they're going after Cruz.
Why are they going after Ted Cruz for?
What's he done to anybody?
It's Obama they ought to be going.
Why are they going after Mike Lee for?
That's why we defend these guys.
They're out there actually trying to beat this stuff back.
And they're doing it because they love the country.
They're doing it because they're shocked and saddened by what they're seeing happening here.
And they don't think it's time to give up.
And look how rare that Palin, the same thing.
And look at what happens to people who do that.
I mean, even Republicans go after them.
It went after Reagan, too.
It's the same thing.
Reagan was able to overcome.
It's a sad thing that there's only been one of him, but that's because they've done everything they can to revise history from that era and make people think it was the exact opposite of what it was.
But folks, the whole point of This latest book has been to join people, because I know there are a lot of you.
This is the thing I know.
A lot of you are fighting back.
That's that the Tea Party is.
A lot of you do want to arrest this stuff and stop it and reverse it.
A lot of you do want to get rid of the current liberal power structure that's destroying the fabric of the country, culturally, politically, societally, economically, you name it.
It's a wrecking ball that's been unleashed each and every day.
And I know all of you in the Tea Party and most of you in this audience are trying to stop it.
And one of the things that frustrates you is apparently what frustrates me.
And there's nobody fighting back that you vote for.
or very few, and I had no reason to write another book, just to write another book.
Been there, done that, proved I can do that.
This has a specific purpose, and I think it's a really worthwhile one.
And that's why I can't tell you how ecstatic I am at the reception this book is getting.
I got my brother, my brother David, went to the dentist today.
He's a dentist as an adult, obviously.
And the dentist told him that he's reading the book, and he's fascinated.
But I can't tell the number of adults who are telling me that they are finding this book enjoyment.
It was written for people 10 to 13.
Now, not at a specific 10 to 13 word or reading level, but that was the target audience.
But it was always intended for parents and grandparents to read as well and share with their kids and grandkids and have it be a joint experience where the grandparents who know the truth of the country and know the truth of the pilgrims read the book and have their kids read it and reinforce what they're reading and say, yes, Mr. Limbaugh's telling you the truth here.
I mean, that's been the whole point of this.
And now I'm getting, you wouldn't believe the pictures that we're getting, that the people sending into the 2fbit.com website, the little yellow mailbox there, five-year-olds and seven-year-olds at bookstores standing there holding books up and reading them and big smiles on their faces.
And it makes it seem all worthwhile.
Here, we're getting mail pouring.
Let me give you an example.
Hi, Rush.
I have to tell you about my experience this evening buying your book in the Barnes and Noble store in Annapolis, Maryland.
Normally, this store goes out of its way to bury conservative-leading books in the back of the store.
So you have to ask for them.
And when you do, you frequently get snooty looks.
So I couldn't believe it when I found your book tonight, not more than 10 feet from the front door.
I nearly tripped over your display stand.
Even more exciting, it was almost empty.
There were only five books left in it.
Now, bear in mind, conservatives and businesses are fed up and leaving our used to be free state of Maryland in droves since our governor O'Malley, an Obama wannabe, has made it the bluest state in the country.
Therefore, seeing Rush Revere right up front in this liberal-leaning bookstore was encouraging.
Amen.
But here, she says, the writer of this email is a woman.
Her name is Sue Ann.
Here's where it gets really interesting.
At the checkout counter, I asked a young saleswoman who's barely 20 how your book was selling.
And she broke into a huge grin and energetically said, really, really well.
I've had lots of people coming in to reserve it.
And I thought to myself, wow, that was a truly great evening in Maryland for a change.
I've not only run into a conservative, but a young one at that in a leftist-leaning bookstore to boot.
Well, sure enough, an older male sales clerk immediately planted himself right next to her, interrupting with, you better keep your mouth shut.
And I thought, uh-oh, she's in trouble.
But I was just tickled to death when she barely acknowledged his presence, and she just kept right on smiling and speaking to me, and neither of us missed a beat.
And to my further amusement, the obvious liberal slowly slittered away to wait on another customer as I continued telling her it was great to hear the book was selling so well because it sounds like it'll help kids and adults learn the real truth about our history.
Amen.
This is the kind of stuff that this is the purpose.
Instead of all the lies that they're being taught in our schools, and she then said, Yeah, I think it will help.
And I know I actually hated learning history in school until my teacher made it into a story like Rush has done here.
I really enjoyed it.
And as I was leaving, I said, Well, do yourself a favor and get Rush's book because I've heard him say he's getting letters from children who say they don't like history either, but they're totally enjoying the book.
And she said, I will.
Hope you have a great evening.
And I said, Thank you.
As I passed by her co-worker on the way out, flashed him a great big smile.
Sue Ann from Annapolis, Maryland.
This is a sample of what's, oh, gosh, clock, of what's pouring in here.
I'm sorry, folks, but I had to get this off my chest because I'm just continually amazed at how little you've got all these conservatives, and they don't seem to think there's anything worthwhile fighting back for.
I don't get it.
Okay, back to the phones.
Here we go, people.
By this time, patiently waiting.
I appreciate that we're going to start in Pittsburgh.
This is Bob.
It's great to have you, sir.
Hello.
Good afternoon, Rush.
This is a pleasure for me to be able to speak to you today.
Thank you, sir.
You know, I've been a listener only since the days of Operation Chaos.
And before that, I was one of those hardcore Democrat union goons, but I've come a long way.
I have to thank you for that.
Welcome home, sir.
Welcome home.
What I'm thinking about today is now that, so the blood is in the water.
Obama has been caught red-handed, lying, and doubling down.
I'm thinking that maybe some of his other base groups are now going to start to think, you know, well, maybe I've been scammed and lied to as well.
You know, he lied to the unions bald-faced in 2008 about Karcheck.
He needed their votes.
He's lied to the Greens.
He's lied to the LGBTs.
He lied to Israel about supporting them for no other reason but votes and support.
And he thinks nothing about lying and doubling down on lying and deceit because it's more or less inbred into him.
He's been raised.
He's been mentored.
He's been educated like that by people like Frank Marshall Davis and Derek Bell.
And it's in his nature to lie, just as in yours to tell the truth.
But I think that now maybe some of these other groups who he's been scamming and taking advantage of and lying to over these last five years.
I don't think that's going to happen.
I respectfully, I don't think he's going to do anything to upset his base here.
His base is going to support him because he lies.
His base is going to applaud him getting Obamacare passed with a lie.
That's kind of applause.
The people here that are perhaps movable at some point are what I call the low-information crowd.
The people that are not passionately political, but to whom their health care really matters.
I mean, it's the most important thing in their life.
And they trusted the guy.
They voted for him.
They thought he was unique.
They thought he was a unifier.
They thought he was going to bring people together.
They thought he was going to fix problems.
He's lied to them.
He's destroyed the public trust.
He told them they could keep their plan.
He told them it was going to be cheaper.
And it's none of that.
And it's that group of people that he has broken this bond of trust.
Well, his base is going to applaud this.
His base is going to celebrate the fact he got this done by lying.
That's the kind of thing that makes them happy.
Base as corrupt as he is.
They're never going to abandon him.
It's the low information crowd here.
The media knows it.
Hey, here it is at Gal, I'm sorry, here it is at Gallup.
The daily presidential approval, Paul Obama's at 39%.
And the disapproval number is 53%.
Now, somebody is being polled here.
Somebody is responsible for these results.
Somebody.
A lot of people are telling Gallup that they don't think much of Obama right now and his presidency.
These numbers have gotten steadily worse since this Obamacare rollout, folks.
That's where you can trace this to.
The rollout, the website, now the revelation of these public trust-busting lies again about something that is deeply personal to people.
And something so simple to understand, too.
There's no question that this is a lie.
There's no question this website's a disaster.
There's no question that people's health care is a mess.
There is no question it's getting more expensive.
There's no question it's going to be less available.
There's no question that there are more questions than ever about it.
What do you do when you get a cancellation notice?
You get a cancellation notice, and it's the most important thing in your life because the Democrat Party has made it that.
You're just one paycheck away from financial ruin.
Obama said it again yesterday.
And you've just been canceled.
You don't have insurance as of January.
What do you do?
May as well be told you don't have it now.
If you get sick and you're going to get canceled in January, are they going to cover you now?
Don't tell me people aren't thinking like that.
They're worried to death about it.
And all this from a guy who promised them the exact opposite on every aspect of this.
There's a reason he's been at 42 and 43%.
There's a reason he's at 39%.
And the media is not going to make a big deal of this because they're going to try to rescue him.
Make no mistake about it.
But here, let me go back to soundbites for just a second here.
We'll do what's three.
Julie Pace, this is AP, last night's special report with Brett Baer.
They brought in an AP babe for the all-star panel.
Did I just say that?
Did I just say that?
They did?
They did.
They had a special report with Brett Baer in the All-Star panel.
They had a reporter for the Associated Press.
They did, Julie Pace.
And Brett Baer said to her, how did you get here?
No, he said, so essentially, President Obama said, I broke that promise, but we had a bigger promise that we weren't going to break.
He said to this audience, what we said was you can keep it if it hasn't changed since the laws passed.
I've covered this president for five years now.
That wasn't said.
That wasn't said by officials.
That wasn't said by the president.
No one said that.
And there is an element of trust here.
Exactly.
Exactly.
The public trust, and he has blown it to smithereens.
So here you have an AP reporter.
This is profound.
He hasn't said that.
I've been covering this clown, this president, for five years, and no official has said that, and he didn't say that.
Well, it does sound like she's personally offended by it.
But make no mistake, this is last night and today.
They'll get into rescue mode here pretty quickly.
They've got no choice.
They can't, they've got it.
They're personally invested in the guy's success.
You know it and I know it.
Well, I know some of their friends I know are being canceled.
Some of them are being canceled.
Where is it?
Senator's son canceled.
Where is it here?
Democrat senator's son has insurance canceled.
Little more than a week after millions of consumers receive cancellation notices.
Lawmakers in both parties are pushing legislation to redeem Obama's long-ago pledge that anybody liking their coverage will be allowed to keep it.
The result is a stern new challenge for the White House as it struggles to fix website woes for the sign-up portal for those seeking to blah, blah, blah.
Democrat officials said that top regime aides got a close-up view of the cancellation controversy last week.
Senator Joe Donnelly, Democrat Indiana, said at a closed-door meeting of the party's rank and file that his son had received notice that his coverage is being terminated.
Son must be older than 26.
Well, that's right.
We couldn't change things.
It's the law of the land.
We can't change anything.
The senator wants his son covered now.
Anyway, so there's a senator's son.
Some of these media people, you're right.
Their friends and families are being canceled.
And some of them, no doubt, are going to be canceled.
And they're going to say, wait a minute, we thought, because remember, folks, I know you're not going to believe this.
These people in the media, they buy it.
Obama says it, they believe it.
Because guys like Chuck Todd, that's why they're scratching their heads.
They believe it.
Do you doubt me on that?
Snerdley's laughing out of control in there.
You don't think that they buy?
So you think they know he's lying every time he tells a whopper like this.
You think they know he's lying and that they're doing what they can to promote the lie and shield him from the truth of the lie coming out.
I think some of them, obviously, you're right.
I think some of them are true believers, too.
I think some of them buy it, hook, line, and sinker.
They're hardcore leftists.
This guy can do wrong.
Don't you understand?
He can't do any wrong as far as they're concerned.
That's why all these critics are just cockeyed weirdos like us.
He can't do any wrong.
And so when they get canceled, wait a minute, this one's supposed to happen.
They think they're in a privileged class anyway.
I mean, I guess they think their taxes are never going to go up.
I guess they think their employers are never going to fire anybody.
I guess they think that they're never going to lose their health coverage.
Their insurance, their premiums are going to get cheaper.
I mean, because they end up supporting all this stuff, it's going to end up hurting them too.
Okay, let's go to Joe Trippy.
Now, Joe Trippy, he was on Megan Kelly's show last night on Fox, a former Democrat strategerist.
Well, I guess he still is.
But he's also a Fox commentator.
Julie Pace, by the way, I just got a note saying that Julie Pace, I didn't know this, and I'm sure that I do know it even after being flashed the note, that Julie Pace is the most conservative of the AP reporters.
Maybe be more accurate to say the least liberal, but it is true.
I have to say, she's not like this Rue Gaber guy in Fournier when he was there.
She has been, my memory is she has She's done some hard-hitting stuff on Obamacare.
But I don't know.
I think it's a mixed bag.
The people that believe it and those that just know he's lying and cover for it.
It's probably a mixed bag.
Let's listen to Trippy.
As Megan Kelly said, now what we found out was there was internal discussion in the White House about this, Joe.
And it was not like it went undetected.
The senior aide said what he's saying isn't right.
He's lying about it.
And that the political aide said, keep your mouth shut.
We don't like the qualifiers.
The promise sounds much better the way he's putting it.
So she's confronting Trippy with the fact the regime knew he was lying.
And when somebody pointed out, they said, shut up.
We know what we're doing here.
It sounds better when he lies about it.
It sounds better when he says you get to keep your plan, you get to keep your doctor, your premium's coming down.
And so there was disagreement.
And Trippy is being asked to react to that.
We'll never know if he had said what he said tonight, whether the law would have passed.
But he's now got a credibility problem because it's clear that when you say period, when you put a period at the end of it and say repeatedly, you won't have to change your plan, period.
You'll be able to keep your doctor, period.
It means period.
It means 100%.
Being 95% right doesn't make it, you got to be 100% the truth.
Well, that's kind of a convoluted way, but Trippy's basically saying you lied.
And you can't, you know, you put a period after it, and there's no doubt then.
No gray area and no slithering out of it.
You get to keep your plan, period.
You get to keep your doctor.
Period.
Your premium average come down $2,500.
Period.
So Trippy basically is saying they've got a credibility problem here and that they can't spin out of this.
Megan Kelly said, okay, instead of that come to Jesus moment where there's just transparency and there's honesty and there's not this attempt to distract us.
This is effectively what we're getting right now.
Tell me if you disagree with that.
They're trying to spin their way out of this and that's, I think, a mistake.
The only spin is total transparency.
Again, they should be in a campaign to get 7 million people signed up.
How can they do that now?
That's the point.
They need to get 7 million signed up.
Can you imagine even that number, 7 million?
This is for everybody.
So he's saying that they just need to come out and admit, okay, yeah, we goofed up, but we now got to get people signed up and stay focused on the objective.
The problem is Obama's blown up the public trust here.
And instead of doing that, what Trippy advises, Obama's out there lying about lying.
He's now saying he didn't lie.
He said, we misunderstood.
We told you.
And now it's become we, not I.
I want to play this montage again because this is powerful.
This is our version is 122, but he's on record as saying this 29 or 39 times, whatever it is.
This is over.
Not one of these is repeated.
If you have your plan and you like it and you like your doctor, that you don't have to change plans, the government is not going to make you change plans.
You're going to have a plan that lowers premiums by $2,500.
I am actually not interested in just capping premiums.
I want to lower premiums by $2,500 per family.
We will start by reducing premiums by as much as $2,500 per family.
You can keep your choice of doctor, keep your plan.
The only thing we're going to do is lower costs, cut average family's premium by about $2,500 per year.
It's time to bring down the typical family premium by $2,500 to bring down the costs.
The first thing I want to make clear is that if you are happy with the insurance plan, nobody will make you change it.
A system where we're going to work with your employers to lower your premiums by up to $2,500 per family per year.
We will start by reducing premiums by as much as $2,500 per family.
And we will lower premiums for the typical family by $2,500 a year.
And if you already have health care, then we're going to work to lower your premiums by up to $2,500 per family.
We're going to work with your employer to lower premiums by up to $2,500 per family per year.
If you like your insurance plan, you will keep it.
No one will be able to take that away from you.
Period.
He said period a number of times.
Now, that was a montage that covered 2007 to 2010 in order to get the thing passed.
This is what he said yesterday.
Now, if you have or had one of these plans before the Affordable Care Act came into law, and you really like that plan, what we said was you could keep it if it hasn't changed since the laws passed.
So we wrote into the Affordable Care Act.
Your grandfathered in on that plan.
But if the insurance company changes it, then what we're saying is they've got to change it to a higher standard.
Well, except that isn't true.
None of that that he said yesterday is true.
And what Trippy is saying, if there were a number of these times when Obama said, if you like your plan, you get to keep it, period.
He left no doubt about it.
He didn't say asterisk.
He said period after a bunch of those.
Got to take a break here, folks.
Do not go away.
Okay, so look at this, folks.
This is from the Daily Caller and the headline, swing voters have turned against Obama, says New Poll.
A new poll shows that non-ideological swing voters have walked away from Obama, which could sharply reduce his political influence and power.
And this is an Ed Goaz poll.
You know, he's half of the battleground poll with Celinda Lake, and he's a good pollster.
He did this poll with Brian Nenaber.
And it's a poll of 1,000 likely voters, 60% swing voters, unfavorable image of Obama, 36% favorable.
And it is the George Washington University Battleground poll released yesterday.
Swing voters, I don't want to insult him here, but that's what I'm talking about.
Low information voters, the non-base.
Obama's base, I'm telling you, the Daily Cause kids, all these people out there at these Democrat underground type sites, they're applauding Obama lying.
Whatever it takes to beat us.
And the fact that he told us big a lie and got away with it and got healthcare, that makes him a superhero to them.
The more deceitful you get away with being, the bigger Obama is to his base, folks.
