Welcome to today's edition of The Rush 247 Podcast.
All right.
All three of them are working.
All right.
First time in a while.
No big deal, folks.
It's great to have you back.
No, no, no.
Not get not the second display.
The iPhones, the iPhones.
They're all three working.
That's cool.
I am overloaded today.
I am overwhelmed.
It is hopeless.
I do not have a prayer of getting everything in.
I mean, I have so much here.
I don't I don't know that I can get 30% of it in.
That means it'd be a real editing challenge here.
I mean, literally loaded.
I mean, stuff on Obamacare and stuff that has nothing to do with Obamacare.
Plus, um, in an hour we have Vice President Cheney here to talk to him about his new book.
Uh Hart.
And uh I I did not.
Even though it was a plot line, remember the old show 24 where the vice president was killed by Abu Nazir via remote control with his his pacemaker.
They took it out over the web.
Cheney said he feared that.
And he took precautions against it.
I mean, it was even before the plot line showed up in 24.
So anyway, we'll be talking to him.
Kathleen Sibelius uh train wreck interview on CNN last night.
Uh and my theory that all this is being done on purpose is a setup for single payer was discussed, Meghan Kelly's show on Fox last night.
Um we've had a a White House official fired for tweeting under a fake name.
I mean, it just you know, I I sit here and I've I look I don't want to talk too much inside baseball, but I I mentioned to you yesterday that I was I did an interview with Chris Steal, the morning drive host in Philadelphia, WPHT, our station there.
And in the course of the interview, he's he he mentioned to me that uh somebody somewhere had sent the word out to local talk radio, drop politics.
I mean, it's it's just it it's time to drop it.
Audiences are fatigued, tired with it, don't want to hear about it.
And I said, who said that?
Who said was it some consultant?
Is it local manager?
Who's saying this?
And when I when I come and prep a show like today, I start feeling sorry if the if it's true of these local hosts have been banned from talking about this stuff because powers that be think nobody's interested.
I just befuddles me.
So let's let's just get to it.
I it it is just it's an incredible, incredible day, and and it the the news just continues to get worse.
For Obama, high-tech people saying that I don't know what Obama's talking about.
There's no such thing as a tech surge.
You know, he goes on to the oval or well of the Rose Gardens, we're gonna we're gonna big big tech surge.
And every there's no such thing as a tech surge.
And some of these high-tech people saying, I'll tell you where it's gonna get fixed.
It's gonna get fixed in the private sector, and some entrepreneurs in the private sector are gonna very quickly come up with alternatives to healthcare.gov that will work.
And they may present them to the White House to Obama, and they may not.
But if they do, will Obama accept them or reject them?
Because they won't be able to do it themselves.
This is this is federal law.
The the entrepreneurs just can't set up competing websites.
I mean, I guess they could, and then let the uh let the authorities have at them.
But you know that that's probably true.
Some entrepreneurs are gonna figure this, and wouldn't it be great if they figure it out in five or six days?
Make it workable in five or six days.
The regime has given itself three weeks, and there's nobody who thinks that this can be done.
Five million lines of code.
So you got all the apologists, but in fact, you don't.
You got people like Robert Gibbs on MSNBC saying this is an absolute disaster.
Former spokesman, you got people saying Sibelius's head should roll.
Uh, Warren Buppett says, no, don't get rid of Sabiliaus.
It's up to Obama's job to bend her shape or flake her form her and get her back on the right path.
But she doesn't know what she's doing.
Nobody in this regime has any experience whatsoever in any of this.
Plus, we're going to have your phone calls in this 800 282-2882, if you want to be on the program, the email address Ilrushbaugh EIB net.com.
I had the story in the stack yesterday, I didn't get to it about the football coach that's been accused of bullying for running up the score 91 to nothing.
So I want to get to that today.
And there's this that I saw last night on Breitbart.
I mean, it just came in over the transom.
Try this headline.
Experts conclude limbaugh plan better than Obama's stimulus.
And I said, My gosh, who remembers that?
That's five years ago.
And it's Joel Pollock writing in Breitbart in 2009 at the height of debate about Obama's stimulus plan.
Radio host Rush Limbaugh proposed a compromise in the pages of the Wall Street Journal that would have devoted half the stimulus to tax cuts.
Now a working paper by the National Bureau of Economic Research, NBER, concludes that Limbaugh was right.
At least in terms of that portion of the stimulus that was directed to state governments.
The paper by Gerald Carlino and Robert Inman finds that the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, the stimulus, the porculus, that assistance would have been 30% more effective in stimulating GDP growth had the share spent on government purchases and project aid been fully allocated to private sector tax relief and to matching aids to states for lower income support.
In other words, tax cuts and cash transfers would have been better.
The new research partly answered the challenge that Limbaugh laid down in January of 2009.
And I remembered, I mean I wrote the piece.
And it was, it was, everybody was calling for bipartisanship, and I was offering to help.
And I didn't think this stimulus is going to work.
I knew it wasn't going to work.
It was not possible for it to work.
Let me explain to you why, as I know we get a new tune in here each and every day, is people desperately want to learn more and more about politics these days.
So the federal government's going to stimulate the economy, right?
The first question to ask yourself is where does the federal government get money?
Besides printing it, where does it get money?
It does have an answer to take it from someplace, right?
It get money via taxes and fees and services and bribes and kickbacks and what have you.
But it all comes, no matter how they get it, it all comes from the people who produce it.
And where does that happen?
It happens in the private sector.
It happens in the economy.
It happens on Main Street.
It happens on Wall Street.
It happens at the mall.
It happens at the gas station.
Happens everywhere.
Commerce takes place.
It happens everywhere goods and services are bought and traded.
That's the only way government gets money.
Well, they could sell some federal land they could do it, but they don't produce income.
Government destroys wealth.
They do not create wealth.
They print the money for the money supply, but they don't produce anything.
The generate government has what it has via taxes.
Okay, so if the government doesn't have any money, and it's going to stimulate the private sector with money, where's it going to get it?
Well, it has to first take it from the private sector.
So in this case, let's just call it a round number of trillion dollars.
Obama and his regime say, we're gonna we're gonna prime the pump.
We're gonna goose the private sector, we're gonna put a trillion dollars in there.
And that's gonna cause all kinds of new economic activity.
And it's gonna cause all kinds of job creation.
And with it, we're gonna get road repair and bridge repair, school repair.
We're gonna do all kinds of this is how he sold it.
Now nobody stopped to think, well, wait a minute, where's the trillion coming from?
They just heard the trillion dollars being injected like with a syringe and thought, wow, that's cool.
But in order to get that trillion, they had to take it from somewhere.
And they took it from the only place they can take it, the private sector.
So they had previously taken a trillion dollars out, have it anyway, they were in debt, but they didn't stimulate anything.
If I take $10 from you, and then give it back to you as a stimulus, what a way to wash, you don't have any more money than you had, and I've lost what I took from you.
There's no stimulus.
It's not possible.
It literally, financially, economically, mathematically, isn't possible to stimulate the economy via the government.
You can't do it unless, you know, this is the Keynesian theory that you just go into deeper and deeper debt doing this because the theory is that all that money that you're putting in the private sector is eventually going to kick in and cause economic activity.
They've been doing it for five years.
We're up to QE3.
It hasn't worked, has it?
Well, Wall Street has, but that's because the QE 1, 2, and 3 went straight to them.
It never found its way to the main street, never found its way to the gas station, never found its way to the mall, the strip mall, the tattoo parlor, never found its way in there.
Found its way to Wall Street, bought some stocks and bonds, paid off the second home in the Hamptons, hired a butler, fine and dandy.
But that's as far as it went.
They've been priming the pump, and they haven't we're losing jobs.
People losing and leaving the job market.
I mean, the economy is shrinking.
We get 90 million people not working after five years of stimulus, led off by the first one.
So I said in my proposal, that was carefully crafted in the Wall Street Journal, let's let's take the election results and be bipartisan, and say Obama won 53 to 47, let's use the numbers.
I say, give me 47% of that trillion to do with as I would do it.
And Mr. President, you're the winner.
You keep 53%, so you keep $530 billion, give me $47 billion.
$470 billion.
And I'll do with mine what I do, and you'll do with yours what you know.
We'll see what happens.
And I said with mine, tax cuts.
I would literally keep more money in the private sector.
I wouldn't take anything out.
I would give tax cuts to producers, tax cuts to small business, tax cuts to earners, tax cuts across the board, marginal income tax rate cuts, and keep more money in the private sector to compensate for Obama's removing it, which is what his stimulus did.
Obama's stimulus didn't stimulate anything except the government.
Obama's stimulus took money away.
My plan was to at least get nearly half of it and keep it in the private sector, and then we compare.
Well, of course, the idea was rejected because Obama never intended to stimulate the private sector.
He only wanted people to think that's what he was doing.
His intention was to grow the government and eventually get to this health care plan that we've got now, and eventually get to every other boondoggle of a federal problem that we've got.
All of this has been by design.
And so these guys, Gerald Carlino and Robert Inman at the National Bureau of Economic Research, concluded, after studying all this five years later, that I was right.
The new research partly answered a challenge Limbaugh laid down in the Wall Street Journal, let Obama devote 54% of the stimulus to infrastructure and pork and all that, in accordance with his share of the vote, let the remainder go towards corporate tax reductions, capital gain tax suspensions, and then we compare it.
The Obama limball stimulus plan, that's what I called it.
He won, put his name first.
The Obama limb boss stimulus plan never passed, of course.
But the paper here, the National Bureau of Economic Research provides a comparison.
Obama and the Democrats often claimed that the stimulus did provide tax cuts, but they were only typically available under restricted conditions and constituted a smaller part of the total.
It was about 28%.
But they were they were not they were de facto tax.
Obama hasn't cut anybody's taxes.
Social, yeah, it's what it was, social security extension and an earn income tax credit.
On the state level, the stimulus was devoted to $318 billion in government transfers, and that was, you know what that was?
That $318 billion in government transfers was to union government employees to keep their jobs during the recession.
Remember this stimulus was to stop the recession dead in its tracks.
The stimulus was to kill a recession and cause economic growth.
Well, remember what the unions are for the Democrat Party.
They're a very sophisticated money laundering scheme for all intents and purposes, because every union member has dues taken from his earnings, and that money is largely cycled back to the Democrat Party in the form of campaign ads, donations, and what have you.
So $318 billion of Obama's stimulus just came back to him, the Democrat Party.
It's a money laundering scheme.
It's easier to do it that way than try to go to the Treasury and just write a check to Barack Obama Esquire and Democrat Party et al.
If you try to do that, even Obama's Treasury Secretary, Tim De Geitner might say, you know, that's a little tough.
I don't think you just come here and grade the treasury, but if you run it through your union buddies, no problem.
That's what they did.
So I was I'm sitting around minding my own business, bothering nobody except my little kitten last night, who was also bothering me, so it was tit for tat.
I said, look, Kat, if you're gonna sit here and bite my nose, I'm gonna headbutt you.
I had to be really we sent the kitten in to be spayed today, and uh, and it's like almost like the kid couldn't feed the cat after midnight.
And about 6 a.m. here came.
I mean, just all over me.
Just biting my nose, and I knew what it was.
Cat was hungry, and it's always been fed.
And I knew that I wasn't gonna be able to feed it anything, and it wasn't gonna understand it, and I said, I gotta get out of here.
I cannot look at this cat, these big eyes plaintively look, I I gotta get I can't watch the suffering.
A cat is a welfare case, and I can't watch it.
So I got up, I hit the shower, and I got out of there.
Um but the anyway, a cat was really rambunctious last night, and I just reading this, I mean, it just came across in the email when the when the cat was particularly feisty.
This cat fetches.
This cat's got a little toy that it brings to me and wants me to throw across the room, and it goes and gets it and brings it back.
I mean, it'll do it for a half hour in a row.
So anyway, that's that's just one woman arrested, Port St. Lucy news.
Port St. Lucy, woman arrested after shooting her boyfriend with water gun.
A woman was arrested and charged with domestic violence after allegedly shooting her boyfriend with a water gun, according to police reports in Port St. Lucy.
The cops there said a woman accused of squirting her boyfriend with a water gun was jailed on Friday.
Giovanna Borga, 19, arrested on a battery charge because she antagonized and agitated her boyfriend against his wishes.
Water gun.
Hey, Snerdley, Stenny Hoyer just recently, I mean, within a half hour or so came out.
He's got he's got a suggestion, and he's gonna put it forth officially to fix what's wrong with Obamacare.
What do you think it is?
Now, let me give you a hint.
Democrat, uh, member Congress.
That should be all you need.
Thank you.
No.
Not even close.
Who said that?
The broadcast engineer has nailed it.
Stenney Hoyer says it needs more money.
Steny Hoyer and the Democrats.
We just need a tax increase, just fifty billion to start.
That's really all that's missing here.
If we just if we just spent some more money on it, then we could fix it.
I kid you not.
That is the solution to Democrats have to everything.
spend more money on it.
Apparently 50 billion more to start would make all the difference in the world.
And we're back.
El Rushball already Wednesday.
It's amazing how fast weeks go by when you don't work one of the days.
Even when you're sick one of those days.
Great to be with you, folks.
The telephone number 800-282-2882.
Email address L Rushball at EIBNet.com.
White House National Security official fired last week after being caught as the mystery tweeter who has been tormenting the foreign policy community with insulting comments and revealing internal Obama regime information for over two years.
Now making fun of Sarah Palin, Romney campaign, that's not enough to save the guy.
He did all that too.
He mocked the heroes of the revolutionary here we we were thinking the Constitution gave people freedom of speech, especially from the federal government.
Meanwhile, nobody's been fired because of the Obamacare rollout.
No one's been fired because of Fast and Furious.
Nobody's been fired because of the IRS targeting of the T Well, maybe Lois Lerner, but actually she was fired with pay.
No one's been fired over Benghazi.
Four Americans were killed there, but a White House national security official fired for tweeting under a fake name.
And saying embarrassing things about the regime.
You know, folks, it's time for some hard truths here.
Barack Obama and his minions are recklessly manipulating and deceiving the entire private health insurance industry.
What has happened and what is happening to the best health care system ever developed in the history of man is more than a shame.
It is simply outrageous, and it is being done purposefully and with a level of deceit that is apparent to anybody who wants to be open enough for themselves to admit it and to see it.
It appears now that multiple officials who work for the president have misled millions of insured and uninsured Americans about a product that Americans have been coerced by law to buy or face a financial penalty.
They have been lied to about it.
They have been misled millions of people who were insured and uninsured, who are now by law required to buy a product, have been lied to and misled about the purchase and the cost and the availability and the level of service to be associated with that product.
It is a major and intricate web of deceit that has been woven here.
All for the advancement not of the health care system, not for the advancement of overall health care in America, but rather for the advancement of the Democrat Party.
and President Obama's legacy.
And multiple people who work for the president have been complicit in this.
It has been done in the name of political gamesmanship and without reprogramming regard to consequence.
We have, I'm going to ask Vice President Cheney about this a minute.
Here's a man who's whose life has been held in the hands of the U.S. healthcare system for years with his with his heart problem.
There are a lot of people alive today, a lot of people getting well today because of the best healthcare system the world has ever seen.
And it is being toyed with and torn down and rebuilt and restructured and dismantled and made worse by a bunch of political hacks.
And they are lying to the people who voted for them and telling them that they're creating for them a utopia with their health care.
This goes beyond deceit.
And all of it in the name of gamesmanship, all of it in the name of achieving political power over the Republicans and conservatives.
And again, without regard to consequence.
Will there be lapses in health care coverage for people?
Will some Americans be forced into bankruptcy?
Will some be paying fines or go to jail?
Will health insurance be contracted at all?
Will the American taxpayer foot the bill for the destruction of the health insurance industry that started when the first dollar was spent on this quicksand website?
There has been stone cold lying about readiness.
Nobody, I don't care who they are.
Nobody is this stupid.
Kathleen Sabelius is a former governor.
She has been the Health and Humanist's secretary, human services secretary for nearly five years.
Obama kept her for his second term.
He has praised her often.
She is an absolute disaster.
There has been, and I mean this stone cold lying about every aspect of this, about what it's going to cost people, about how available it's going to be for people, about being able to keep your plan if you like it, about being able to keep your doctor if you like him or her, about having no interruption, about having your premiums reduced 2500, the level of lying.
Willfully knowingly lying.
And now the best they can do is to say, well, Obama was so busy with the shutdown he didn't know.
Well, that's some president, that's some CEO, that's some chief executive, that's some Messiah he didn't know is the best they can come up with.
He was so busy dealing with those mean spirited racist Republicans that he didn't know for three years that his health care website is an absolute dog.
The real answer is he didn't care.
He didn't care enough to make it good.
Remember the point that I made yesterday about how people really devoted to something, being led by a charismatic leader, just do everything to make it happen to impress the leader, to make the leader look good, to make themselves look good, all those things tie together.
Inspiration, motivation.
There hasn't been any of that.
I've got some sound bites in the snack today, which I'm gonna get to.
People questioning why wouldn't they even do this for Obama?
Some of his supporters are asking why the Sibeliuses of the world and whoever else, why wouldn't they at least try to make it work for Obama?
Let me tell you, everything in this country is not about Barack Obama.
And the people of this country are getting fed up with being told through the prism of every news story is how does this affect Barack Obama?
How will this affect his legacy?
How will this make Obama feel?
How will this make him look?
Who cares if he didn't care enough to stay involved in this to know what was happening with it?
And now underlings are gonna get blamed again for not working hard enough for Obama.
Well, what is it about Obama that they didn't want to work hard enough to get this done right?
Or are the people there not qualified to do this, even if they are working at their best.
Remember, folks, insurance companies have sent out notices terminating people.
They have sent out notices adjusting policies by the millions already.
An entire industry, private sector, health insurance was forced to look to Washington for answers.
An entire industry was essentially hijacked by the power of the federal government and said, you're going to play by our rules, or you're not going to stay in business.
And they were even deceived.
They were even lied to.
They were promised billions of new customers.
They were promised untold new profits.
They were promised automatic instant compliance.
They were promised brand new customers.
They were led to believe that they were going to be on the inside.
That they were going to be crony capitalist beneficiaries of this new nationalization of health care.
And as is always the case, they were simply lied to.
And instead, they have been targets all along.
They have been in the crosshairs all along.
I, as an aside, don't know why they couldn't see it, but I guess the lure of being close to power is really seductive for a lot of people.
So much so that they will deny the reality right in front of their face.
An entire industry, folks.
Not a few companies here, an entire industry, private sector health insurance, forced to play ball with Barack Obama, who doesn't know the first thing about the insurance business, except that he doesn't like it.
Except that he thinks it screws people, except that he thinks it steals from people, except that he thinks it rips people off.
That's the extent of his so-called knowledge.
And he's been shown to use the power he has to intimidate and punish.
And so when you're in his crosshairs, you bend over.
You do what you have to do to stay in business as long as you can.
So now these people who are, by definition of their success, they are experts, the private sector health business, they know, just like the hospital, they're experts.
They're the experts, they are now being forced.
Well, you stop and think I'd look at it this way, it's just even more frustrating.
They are being forced to look to Washington to come to Washington for direction, for guidance, for instruction.
They are being forced to talk to these unqualified Obama employees and get marching orders, instructions, guidance, law from them on how they should really run their business.
Helpless to proceed without instruction and assurances from Washington, an entire industry was deceived.
Just as the American people who bought into this have been deceived.
A giant intricately woven web of deceit.
And it's now starting to unravel.
It's starting to unravel at a point in time.
Sound bites, hey, rush, let it go.
Let it continue to unravel.
I mean, uh you know what the latest meme coming out of Washington is, and you know Brit Hume is uh uh One of the soundbites we have, hey, they're saying, let this go.
Let this implode.
This will be the death knell of liberalism.
This, this.
Well, I don't want to put words in their mouth, and I have exact words.
This, this is gonna show everybody.
Because this there wasn't one Republican vote.
There wasn't one Republican on board.
The Republican Party got nothing to do.
There's no way any Republican be blamed at all.
Right.
Right.
Well, the Republicans always get blamed for the shutdown, don't they?
You telling me that the Obama, the Democrats, the media won't find a way to blame the Republicans for this.
They're already starting.
This thing's failing because the Republicans aren't helping.
This thing's failing because the Republicans never did want it to work.
This thing's failing because the Republicans this, the Republicans that.
Liberalism is nothing but failures.
Why is this one going to be the one to wake everybody up?
I wish it were, don't misunderstand.
I'm long.
Take a break.
Come back and continue in mere moments.
Don't go away.
Let's give voice to some of what I was just saying.
Show the audio sound bites.
Kathleen Sibelius on CNN lesson as a train wreck.
Interviewed by chief medical correspondent Sanjay Gupta, who was sitting in for Anderson Cooper.
And Sanjay Gupta, who is the staff doctor, CNN.
Just days before the launch of test was conducted, a website crashed with just a few hundred users.
How was the decision made to still go forward?
I mean, it crashed with just a few hundred users and you wanted and needed millions.
So what happened?
Well, Sanjay, there are people in this country who have waited decades for affordable health coverage for themselves and their families.
I see them all over the country.
What's clear is we have a product.
The product really works.
We have created a market where there wasn't a market.
So waiting is not really an option.
People can sign up on the website at the call center in person.
They can't.
I said earlier, no one is this stupid.
I want to take that back.
That, folks, is exactly what I was just talking about.
There is a combination of absolute incompetent ignorance combined with a willful arrogance that makes this simply impossible.
This question.
Look, it crashed with just hundreds of users.
Why did you still go forward?
Because we have waited decades for this.
We Democrats have waited decades for this.
There are people who have waited decades for affordable health coverage.
I see them all over the country.
This is not an answer.
This is just abject incompetence on parade.
The product is the website, and the product does not work.
What's clear is we have a product.
Your product is the website.
Your product is not health insurance.
You people aren't offering that yet.
You're just arranging the deal.
You don't have a health insurance company yet, Miss Sabilish.
You're just a middleman.
All you are is a website and it doesn't work.
That is your product.
We've created a market where there wasn't a market.
Only somebody who hasn't the slightest idea what they're talking about, and who has no clue what a market is and no idea what the private sectors could possibly make that statement.
We created a market where there wasn't a market?
You know what that is?
That's like an iPhone.
Or a Xerox copier.
You haven't done anything like that.
You are bogging down the market.
That was just fine compared to what you've turned it into.
Waiting isn't an option?
Well tell that to the millions and millions who've been doing nothing but that for three weeks.
Well that's it, folks.
That's it for the uh the exciting first hour.
Energetic, like you hear nowhere else, informative, chock full, educational, interesting, and all that, and there's two more hours of it.
