Having more fun than a human being should be allowed to have, because I'm doing what I love to do.
Even though the news each and every day lately hadn't been all that hot, I still love doing this.
I love the opportunity, folks, to be with you every day here behind the golden EIB microphone.
Telephone number if you want to join us, we're going to get to phone calls in this hour is 800 282882, the email address L Rushboard EIBNet.com.
You know, I want to forget everything that we've said about immigration today and all the details of this.
Because actually, I want to apologize to you for wasting the first hour.
I well, because I spent an hour on something that isn't news, and it's going to happen anyway.
You know, I I I got sucked in, okay, there's this big thing out there.
This is this this is this Hover Corning, Hover Corker amendment, border security this, border security that, and I got sucked into discussing it, and it doesn't change anything.
And the Democrats are not enforcing whatever laws are passed anyway that they don't like.
There's something more important here in all of this, and that is there's a false premise that's guiding all of this.
I've talked about this before, too, but I really, really want to try to get down to the down and dirty to the nasty on this.
The false premise is that if the Republicans don't do this, they are finished as a political party.
When in fact, they probably are finished if they do this.
The false premise has been constructed by the Democratic Party.
And the false premise is amplified by the media.
And the false premise is that Hispanics hate Republicans.
All Huspanic Hispanics do not hate Republicans.
The vast majority of Hispanics do not hate Republicans.
I think this premise has got everybody going in the wrong direction and for the wrong reasons.
It's a double negative whammy.
Now we had Senator Cruz on this program yesterday, and I asked him about this, and he reminded me of something that we've mentioned a bunch of times on this program.
If all of this is designed to make Republicans loved, if all of this is designed to finally get Hispanic votes, then why didn't it work in 1986 through 1988?
Again, 1986, take it in 1984, during a Reagan landslide of 49 states, Reagan the Republican got 37% of the Hispanic vote.
In 1986, they did Simpson Mazzoli, that's Amnesty.
the next presidential election, 1988.
George Bush, 41, beat the loser, Michael Dukakis.
and In 86, the Republicans passed Amnesty.
In 86, the Republicans made Hispanics love them.
In 86, the Republicans did what the Democrats said Ted Kennedy said had to be done.
You Republicans, if you're going to have any future, you've got to do this.
It's the same arguments that were made, then being made today.
Two years after granting Amnesty, the percentage of the Hispanic vote for Republicans dropped from 37 to 30%.
So after Amnesty in 86, designed to make Republicans lovable and loved and supported by Hispanics.
Significantly fewer Hispanics voted for the Republican candidate 1986.
The reverse has to be considered here.
This is a false premise, and it really ticks me off that it's allowed to become such a prominent factor in a piece of legislation that is really important substantively.
But all of it is nothing but political, and it's a false premise.
Everybody in the Republican Party is getting sucked into this.
There's also a desire, folks, the Republican Party, I think, to anger some of its base and send them packing.
I mean, there are a lot of things going on with Republican support of the bill.
But the idea that we have to do this in order to ever win another election is as bogus a premise as there can be.
It's insultingly stupid.
It is insultingly shallow.
There's no evidence to support it.
There's no evidence to suggest it is true.
In fact, if you really wanted to use the evidence, what you should say is that passing this bill and granting amnesty will result in the Republicans getting fewer Hispanic votes because that's the history.
That is undeniable.
Now people might say, well, Rush, you can't go back 30 years and start making comparisons.
Why not?
It's what you're doing.
Everybody else is saying we got to do this or else.
The Democrats have structured for themselves a no lose proposition here.
There is no way the Democrats lose no matter what happens here.
And that only exists because the Republicans have either blindingly, naively, or willingly allowed it to happen.
Here's how the Democrats don't lose no matter what happens.
If they get the bill, they win.
If it loses, then they have their campaign issue.
And they get to run around, and they're happier than pigs in slop when they're telling everybody how rotten Republicans are.
So they got the 2014 campaign coming up and a 2016 campaign coming up to run around and tell everybody what racist pigs the Republicans are, how biased and prejudice they are against people of color and Hispanics win-win.
Then they think that they're going to win in 2014 the House, 2016 they keep the White House, and then they get to write the bill all over again, and they really get to make it.
I mean, full-fledged 100% amnesty.
If they win the House in 14 and they keep the White House in 2016, they get to write whatever they want.
In fact, they won't even have to write it.
They can just have their president declare it.
There won't be the Republican votes in either body to stop anything or to override a veto, so they can't lose here.
So how do the Republicans win?
And I don't think it's that complicated, but it's hard to do, apparently, and that's stand on principle.
And that's learn to look at people in this country as Americans and not hyphenated members of groups.
Be conservative.
You've heard the spiel, folks.
I'm not going to waste your time with it again.
I just this premise that we're hated and despised.
We've got to do this.
What Graham said, Senator Graham and all that.
This is it's a false premise.
Everything that's pushing this bill forward is a false premise.
Just like the questions that the media asks.
Most questions that are asked of Republicans, they ought to say, sorry, I don't accept the premise.
Your question, next question.
And not even answer them.
I tell you, it it's just frustrating.
It's frustrating to watch all this, and it's frustrating to have people who you think if you don't agree with them, they can't be this dumb or naive or whatever it is.
Then after we establish that we're dealing with a false premise, then let's add another statistic to this.
And this again is fact.
This is not opinion.
It's not projection.
If Romney had even gotten 70% of the Hispanic vote in 2012, he would have lost.
He would have still lost with 70% of the Hispanic vote.
The numbers have been run.
No Republican has ever gotten that many Hispanic votes.
So what are we hoping to gain here?
So what this tells me Is that this is about something totally not being discussed.
This is about something not on the table.
This is about something that nobody wants to talk about, and that is money.
The people driving this, whoever they are, do not doubt me, think that there is a huge payday for them in the process when it's over.
The consultants who run political campaigns, they love the wealthier the candidate the better.
The more money the candidate has, whether he can win or not, you know why they really didn't like Christine O'Donnell.
And you know why they really don't like Sharon Angle?
They're not going to make any money off of them.
Neither of them had any money to begin with.
And they didn't think that too many people were going to give them much money, so there isn't any money in it for them.
You and I are sitting here thinking that it's all about ideas.
You and I are sitting here thinking the objective is to beat liberals, to beat the Democrats.
Objective is to make money for everybody.
Now, nothing is wrong with that, of course, don't misunderstand.
But when you lie about it, and when you try to present yourself as an altruist, or even somebody in it for the charity, in it for the for the for the goodness of your heart and the cause spare me, the violins.
So if you have, if you're a Republican consultant and you've got some really rich political wannabe, some guy who wants to be elected but doesn't have a prayer, you'll take him.
And you'll happily run his campaign and you'll happily spend his money getting your percentage, your commission of it.
Whether he loses or not, doesn't matter, you still get paid.
If you are a corporatist and you have decided, because of the way the direction this country is going, the fastest way to profit is to be in business with the government.
If you've decided the fastest way to be in business and make a profit with the least friction is to be a partner with the government in whatever they are doing and you're doing, i.e., crony capital, then you are in this because you see higher profits or more money somehow if this law is passed cheap labor for certain people, uh no health care costs, expenses for employees for others.
If you follow the money on this, you'll get to what's really driving it.
And all this talk about border security and e-verify and ratcheting up the e-visa, the uh the overstaying visas and building the fence and all that.
Well, I we've already passed laws that mandate that and they're not enforcing them.
How important is it really?
So there are other things driving this.
The money explains in large part what is otherwise inexplicable, and that is Republican support for that.
For this folks, it doesn't take a brain surgeon to realize that eleven million people who now can't vote, who in a few short years will be able to vote, 70 to 80% vote Democrat.
It doesn't take a genius to figure out that electorally, that's it for the ideas represented by the Republican Party.
May not be the end of the party.
You may have plenty of Bob Michael guys in there who would love being the leaders of a hundred and twenty Republicans in the House, and maybe win the White House once every 20 years.
But it represents the end of the ideas that conservatism or what used to be the Republican Party.
That's and that's just mathematics.
Let me take a brief time out.
We will come there's I I hate to do this to you, but I really do hate to do this to you, but the Investors Business Daily had an editorial yesterday, and they have discovered the purpose of Obamacare.
And it has nothing to do with health care.
Purpose of Obamacare got nothing to do with your health.
It has nothing to do with your insurance.
It's about building a permanent, undefeatable, always funded Democrat majority.
One example, the exchanges.
We're being told that the government's running way behind on setting up the exchanges.
And we're being told it's because the bill is so complicated, big, unmanageable.
Nobody possibly get this done on time.
IBD has tracked how these exchanges are being set up, and basically the health care exchanges in these states are going to be Democrat political action committees.
Funded with your tax dollars.
And they're going to operate under the guise of selling you your health insurance when in fact what they're going to be doing is providing employment for Democrats and Democrat voters and Democrat operatives, and they are going to use the exchanges to give out money to sympathetic Democrats, people who vote for other Democrats.
I'll give you the details.
It's on a par with how I've tried to explain that – The stimulus was a money laundering operation for Democrat campaign coffers.
Because the vast majority of stimulus money went to keep government union employees working.
It went to make sure they weren't laid off in a really bad and down economy.
State and local union employees pay dues.
They're required.
The dues are collected by Democrat Union leaders.
They run all the union organizations, and the dues are what fundaigns.
And if you're the Democrats, you just you can't get anyway just write a check for 900 billion dollars to the U.S. Treasury and then start giving it away.
But you can come up with a stimulus bill that you tell people is all about creating jobs and roads and bridges and building up infrastructure, and then you get the check, and you are in charge of how the money is spent and where it goes, and you see to it that it ends up ultimately in the back pockets of union employees so that they continue to be employed and paying dues.
So it's a roundabout way of getting 900 billion dollars or a percentage of it back to the Democrat Party and campaign contributions.
And that's what the stimulus bill was.
I'll take a break.
Take a phone, a couple phone calls, and then I will share with you the dirty details of the investors business daily.
It's a editorial on what is really happening with Obamacare and the exchanges.
Let me grab a quick phone call.
I gotta get a phone call in here.
Otherwise the callers are gonna hate me.
That's why I gotta get calls, the callers are gonna hate me.
Here's Indianapolis, Sal, great to have you on the EIB network.
Hello.
Hi, Rush.
Um, the border security issue is actually irrelevant because if you grant amnesty to 20 to 30 million Democrats, um the country's finished.
There's no way to overcome that margin.
Because um what they're saying is we're gonna nail the door shut, but the horse is already out of the barn.
I get it.
I I know exactly what what you're saying.
Um, you know, securing the border uh is irrelevant if at any stage, right?
If they're gonna grant amnesty to the eleven or twelve million who are here.
Right.
I mean, how do you overcome that margin when we have a fifty fifty country?
Um what the Republicans are saying, we need to do this so that the Hispanics will not hate us, and then after we've made them not hate us, they will then start listening to our message.
But we really need to assimilate the people, because these are the same people who voted for Hugo Chavez and one of the two Mexican socialist presidents.
They have two socialist parties in Mexico, two um shades of socialism and then a communist party.
So how do we convince these people?
Yes, but those people are fleeing those regimes.
They are coming to the United States because they don't want that.
They want to be free.
But yet they vote for Democrats.
Well, 70% of those who are who live here vote for Democrats, yes.
Uh that's true.
That's my point exactly.
You can't change their behavior.
They expect the government to help provide things for them.
Well, I hate look, let me tell you something.
I I I don't want to throw cold water on you here, but whether we tie down the border first, second, third, or fourth or not.
You have to.
Sal, you you you have to understand, you understand, don't you, that the eleven million here are going to be granted status.
You know that's gonna happen, right?
Not necessarily, no.
Um what I think you could do is make it a felony for anyone to assist the illegals in applying for welfare or applying for a job.
Well, of course we can do whatever we want, but the idea of it becoming law, the idea of somebody actually in a Republican Party proposing that and enforcing it.
This is really hard, folks.
I did not say, I don't want anybody to get confused.
I did not say that I did not concede legalization is inevitable.
I was asking a caller a question.
I am not conceding that legalization is inevitable.
And I want to throw something else out at you as a possibility, folks.
I'm not all that convinced yet, despite how it looks, that this bill's a slam dunk victory in the Senate.
I know how the Democrats operate.
I know that they are smoking mirrors.
I know how they market.
They talk about wanting 70 uh votes in the Senate on this.
If they're talking about it, it means they don't have them.
If they're saying we're gonna get we want 70 votes, they don't have them yet.
The Democrats are in the business of creating illusions.
They're in the in the media too, in the business of making you feel like all is lost.
It's part of the campaign to get what they want.
To beat down any resistance, to make it seem like it's fruitless to stop them or to oppose them because you can't.
And so the conventional wisdom is now that this thing goes sail through the Senate, that's it.
It's all in the House now, and I'm not convinced of that until they take the vote.
One thing it's not being reported about this whole immigration thing is the degree to which it's opposed by the people in this country, you're not seeing that anywhere.
You try, you know, Senator Cruz on the program yesterday and he said, call your senator.
Call him.
Call your representative.
Does it still work in in 2020?
It damn well does, he said.
You try calling, you can't get through.
They got their phones off the hook, folks.
Because you are inundating them.
You are overwhelming them.
But that's not being reported.
As far as you know, there isn't any opposition.
You're it.
You're a lone wolf, you and your buddies.
This is by design.
The mainstream media exists for many reasons, and among them is to dispirit you.
And to make you think that what you want is impossible and will never happen.
There's a reason Harry Reid wants to speed this thing up.
And again, I think Senator Cruz was right yesterday.
He said, I think they're in trouble.
There's a reason all these amendments are being offered.
They don't have the votes yet.
They are trying to sweep up votes.
They are hoovering votes then.
They are coming up with amendments to get Republicans that are on the fence.
But there are some Democrats have to run for re-election in 2014, and they know what their constituents' constituents are thinking about this.
So it's hard every day.
It's hard not to get caught up in the inertia that is created each day around the Democratic Party agenda.
Because that's all the news is anymore, folks.
That's all the news is is the Democrat agenda and how it's doing.
How's Obama doing?
How's health care doing?
How's this doing?
How's that going?
How's this going?
Is Obama in trouble here?
Is this going to give them any problems over there?
There is no news.
It's just a daily report on the Democrat Party agenda.
That's all it is.
That's what the New York Times is.
It's what CBS is, ABC, CBS, the Washington Post, the LA Times, it's the Democrat Party agenda.
And the one thing the Democrats never do is talk about how all is lost.
The Democrats never talk about how they've got to change what they believe.
The Democrats never ever.
The Democrat agenda is never in trouble.
The Democrat president never in trouble.
Harry Reid, would this this border surge amendment?
He wouldn't allow that to be voted on if he didn't have the votes.
If they didn't need them.
If they didn't need the votes, he wouldn't have allowed this amendment to even be brought forth.
This this hover cover corner, whoever the corker, these people and these two senators.
So don't misunderstand me.
This is not a fate accompli.
It is not a done deal.
Now, on to the investors' business daily.
They have an editorial that explains in quite extensive detail how Obamacare is actually a funding operation for Democrat Party operatives and a technique for improving increasing Democrat Party voter registration.
The Obama administration granted a whopping $110 million to California to set up its Obamacare exchange.
That money is not for bandages or surgery or nurses or doctors to care for the sick.
Shockingly, the $910 million is slated for bureaucracy, including rich compensation packages for the employees of the exchange.
In fact, the executive director of the exchange in California will make $360,000 a year.
The exchange money, this $910 million, is being used for computer equipment, public relations, outreach.
What is the exchange?
It's supposedly where you go by mandate to buy your health insurance.
The exchange is supposed to just be a catalog, basically.
And the only thing in the catalog are insurance policies.
And you go there and you pick yours.
You go there, decide what you want.
That's what the exchange is.
Instead, the regime has decided to use these exchanges, probably part of the original plan, as Democrat get out the vote efforts, complete with walking around money, and employment for loyal Democrats.
California lawmakers passed a law.
Senate Bill 35 requiring that voter registration be part of the health insurance exchange.
California lawmakers, again, passed Senate Bill 35 that requires voter registration be part of the health insurance exchange.
Now you think you're going to the exchange to pick your insurance policy.
Guess what?
You're going to get pressured to register to vote if you're not, and maybe even if you already are.
Last month, Covered California, that's the name of an outfit, Covered California, Covered California announced $37 million in grants to 48 organizations to build public awareness about the opening of the health exchange on October 1st.
In other words, they're treating this as the grand opening of a great shopping center, a great mall.
They're doing this to attract all kinds of people.
It's a government bureaucracy.
It would be no different than if the DMV started running ads to get you to show up.
Of the 48 organizations that got grants, only a handful of them are health care related.
For example, Covered California announced $37 million in grants to 48 organizations to build public awareness about the opening of the health care exchange.
Now, why in the world would the California NAACP get $600,000?
But they did.
The California NAACP got $600,000 of Obamacare money, California exchange money to go door to door canvassing and registering voters.
And to create presentations at community organizations.
Presentations about the Democrat Party.
Presentations about registering and supporting the Democrat Party and its candidates.
The Service Employees International Union, which says its mission is economic justice, got two grants totaling two million dollars to make phone calls, robocalls, and to also go door to door.
Now, what in the world does a health exchange need a union going door to door for?
No.
I'm talking about in the strict structure, strict structure of these exchanges.
Remember, our low information people have no clue what's going to hit them here, folks.
You think they know what a health care exchange is?
You and I know what it is.
It's a place where we're gonna have to go to get our insurance policy.
Little do we know that when we show up, we're going to be hit with Democrat Party propaganda.
Little do we know that the insurance exchanges are going to be giving money to the NAACP and the Service Employees International Union to go out and do voter outreach, voter registration drives, show up at community organizing centers, that they're going to be making robocalls, phone calls all about getting out the vote.
The Los Angeles County Federation of Labor, AFL CIO, got $1 million for door-to-door, one-on-one education and social networking.
For what?
An insurance policy?
It describes its role as engaging in both organizing and political campaigns, electing pro-union and pro-worker candidates.
That's the AFL-CIO.
That's how it describes itself.
See, we have the NAACP in California getting $600,000 to go door-to-door to register voters to do this or that.
The Service Employees International Union is getting $2 million to do the same thing, to go door-to-door, to do outreach, show up at community centers, make phone calls, robocalls, register voters.
Get them to the polls.
The AFL CIO getting another million, so just in three groups, you're at $3,600,000 from a health exchange.
To basically gin up support for the Democrat Party.
Community Health Councils, a California organization with a long history of political activism against fracking, against for-profit hospitals, against state budget cuts, against oil exploration.
This group got one million dollars To conduct presentations at community and neighborhood meetings and one-to-one sessions.
So health care exchange money for California has been given to a group that opposes fracking for private hospitals that opposes state budget cuts, opposes oil exploration, they get a million bucks to make presentations at community and neighborhood meetings against all of these things.
In other words, community health councils, California group got a million dollars to promote the Democrat Party.
The AFL CIO, one million to promote the Democrat Party.
The A, the Service Employees International Union, two million dollars to promote the Democrat Party.
The NAACP $600,000 to promote the Democrat Party.
$910 million total of taxpayer money to the state of California.
And this is, by the way, going to happen in every state.
This is not just California.
But you might be asking, wait a minute, Wush, wait a minute.
What about actually getting people signed up for health care insurance policies?
Well, guess what?
That has also been assigned to constituencies of the Democrat Party.
Let me take a break and I'll give you the details on that.
But basically, what's happening?
Obamacare's exchanges are being funded.
Money is being given.
The same people who got stimulus money, folks, you didn't.
Your shovel ready job didn't.
Your school didn't, your road, your bridge, none of that.
Your job didn't get it.
Democrat loyalists got the money.
The same thing is happening with the Obamacare exchanges.
Democrat supporting groups are being given millions of dollars to promote the Democrat Party, register Democrat voters, get them to the polls on election day.
And the purpose?
To set up a permanent one-party system in this country.
Folks, moments ago on Fox, Megyn Kelly was talking with their political editor, Chris Snyderwalt.
And everybody's asked, what the hell happened?
What happened between yesterday and today that's caused everybody to speed up to 120 miles an hour on amnesty in the Senate.
What in the world has happened?
Meghan Kelly discussing this with the Fox political director, Chris Steyrwalt.
It comes just 24 hours after one of the most talked-about conservatives in the nation spoke to Rush Limbaugh about this bill.
Texas Senator Ted Cruz launching a high-profile attack on the so-called gang of eight bill, calling it a flat-out disaster.
When asked about worries that Republicans had to pass this bill to win Latino votes in the future, the Cuban American Senator did not mince words.
This is a crock that is being sold to Republican politicians that they can just buy off Hispanics, and frankly, it's offensive, but it's being sold as pure politics.
You know, it's also racist to say that these Hispanics can be bought.
That their support, their votes are this dependent, this cheap.
So Meghan Kelly says it's a cruise on this program yesterday just shaking everybody up because he also told everybody to let everybody in Washington know what you think about it.
But they weren't through talking about it.
Senator Cruz went on from there, Chris.
Where do things stand right now?
Because my impression in reading in today on the story is there's a fire drill.
I mean, Harry Reed is like, this has got to get passed immediately before the July 4th recess, 11 million illegal immigrants have to be granted this path to citizenship.
They get provisional set status immediately, and all these other amendments, you know, proceed at your own peril, Republicans.
By July 4th, it needs to happen.
You got it.
You have sussed out the nature of the game down here, Megan.
That's exactly what happened to me.
I'm sitting here, I'm minding my own business.
I'm still mourning the passing of Vince Flynn at about 11 o'clock today, all hell broke loose.
I started getting emails and texts from my brother and from a number of people.
What's this mean?
What's this mean?
I wasn't even aware of it.
What is going on here?
Harry Reed says this, and Rubio just said this, and Rubio was on in Hannity last night and said that.
What's going on here?
And I'm done.
Okay, so I put aside what I was working on and trying to get up to speed on this.
And so in the first hour, I found out what was going on, and we spent the first hour talking about it.
And it turns out that it wasn't just me that figured something's going on here.
Meg and Kelly.
And I'm telling you the takeaway here is if if if Dingy Harry had to put the pedal to the medal on this today, something's not going right.
Look, folks, when they have, when when Vinji Harry's whip tells him he's got the votes, they head to the floor because the vote is called.
Now they're throwing out this, they want 70 votes for this.
They don't have 70 votes.
Right now, they don't have 60.
And that's the takeaway.
Right now, they don't have 60 votes for this because if they did, he would call the vote.
Keep hanging in there, folks.
Do not stop whatever you're doing.
The reason this border surge amendment today on immigration, the reason it's getting so much press, the reason it's getting so much attention, the reason it appears like everybody's going 150 miles an hour is because the media and the rest of the Democrats are hoping that that amendment will give the Republican senators enough cover to vote for the bill.
And so far it hasn't happened.
CNN is running a crawl on their screen, Chiron banner.
