Great to have you having more fun than a human being should be allowed to have.
It's L Rushball, your guiding light through times of trouble, confusion, murkiness, tumult, chaos, lying, economic collapse, all the rotten stuff and the good times as well.
Our telephone number if you want to be on the program 800 282-2882 and the email address Lrushbo at EIBNet.com.
I want to go back to the top.
I'm going to play all three of these sound bites.
Pat Smith, the mother of Sean Smith, computer specialist killed at the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, along with our ambassador.
She was on CNN last night, and what she said is infuriating.
The administration will not tell her what happened to her son.
The administration is lying.
They continue to blame what happened to him on a video.
Folks, it's simply unacceptable.
And I've I've this kind of stuff really bothers me.
I'm struggling to try to explain to you why.
But it it has to do with the fact that I don't think that these people have a genuine and true appreciation or understanding for people like the Smiths.
And for in fact, most of the people in this country.
We're sitting here in an absolute, we're just north of an economic depression.
And as far as the media and Obama concerned, the world still is about him.
Everything's about him.
It's about his debate performance, why it was so bad, everything's about Biden tonight.
Everything's about them.
The media makes everything about them.
The media makes everything about Obama.
They all together get together and make everything about them.
They think they're the most important things in the world.
They think they're the sun.
Everybody else revolves around them.
And they're nothing without people like this family.
They're nothing.
They couldn't do what this family does.
And people like them.
I you know, they call them a great silent majority, whatever.
I call them the people that make the country work, the people that are not seeking fame.
They're not trying to get noticed.
They're doing everything they can to play by the rules that they have believed.
Generation to generation to generation, right thing to do.
How to succeed in life, how to raise kids, knowing that nobody's perfect, but they're out there doing in many cases the work that most people wouldn't do.
They volunteer for duty that most people don't volunteer for.
And I think they're taken for granted by way too many people in our upper echelon elites.
Let me try to explain this if I can, if I get a little personal.
I've been very lucky.
Very economically, I've been blessed and more fortunate than I ever dreamed or anybody in my family ever thought possible.
And I try every day to make sure that I don't take any of it for granted in my own way.
My job.
I'm working harder at it than ever.
I haven't yet phoned it in.
For the reasons are personal, but it's also I have a proper work ethic and but it's a lot of it, you know, audience expectation.
There are people investing a lot of time and money in this program.
They they're owed respect.
Um I like sharing my passions with people.
I like sharing the things that I love with people, particularly those that otherwise wouldn't have a chance to have some of the things that I have.
I've got a prize closet back there that's filled with Apple stuff.
I've got...
I've got some iPhone 5s that I'm waiting for the right time, but I've got some computers and iPads and so forth, and you've heard me give them away here.
You know, every time, every time we give one of these away, the people that receive them Are just blown away, happy, appreciative.
And that's what makes it all worth it.
And it's what continues.
I mean a lot of the people would never have any of this stuff.
They can't afford it.
Not in this economy.
Most people cannot do the things Obama can do, or anybody in the political class, or even I can do.
And yet they're the ones, many of them are you in this audience.
You're the ones that really make the country work.
And I am still, I'm I don't know the word awe or or impressed or affected deeply when I see how something that to me could very easily be taken granted means everything to somebody else.
Means everything to them.
We had given an example.
We had some of the tea contest winners, the people that one of the contest sweeps takes they came to watch the program for a day.
And that night, a bunch of the T staff took them to dinner at a at a local restaurant.
And I that was not part of the deal.
I was not going to go to that.
Because I can't hear it, those things, and it's it's be frustrating for everybody.
But I dropped in and I gave, there were, I don't know, uh, eight of them there, eight couples.
And I had eight iPhones left.
So I took, I grabbed the eight iPhones and I went over there, and I gave them the iPhones.
And they started a couple of three or four started crying.
And to me, it was easy as heck to give away that iPhone.
It was no sweat off my back, but to see how they appreciated it.
It's I don't know, folks.
It's just one of the things that that keeps me grounded.
And I just I I don't think.
How can you lie to a mother whose son has been killed in service to you, your administration, your country.
How can you do that?
How can you be so cavalier as to treat even that as just the next thing in a series of political events that you want to try to massage to your benefit?
I I don't understand the callousness of that.
And I I can't relate to the callous, isn't the word that the the uh I don't know what the word is, but it did to not even see the humanity of people, just see a political opportunity here.
Here we have some a guy who volunteered defend his country.
He's at a consulate on 9-11.
He's not adequately protected, not allowed to be armed.
The administration has tried to secure his safety in the ambassador with locally hired bodyguards.
And one of the job requirements is that they have it's not requirement, it's okay, the job application.
If you're if you engage in same-sex behavior or marriage, that's fine, you can still apply.
And but what what they're not even professionals, they're just local, quote-unquote bodyguards.
And 9-11, the anniversary of 9-11, and you don't ramp up for it, and then all hell breaks loose, your ambassador dies, and three other Americans with him.
And you start this cheap explanation that it was a video that made it happen when there was no evidence of it.
And after everybody knows there's no evidence, you continue to tell the mother of one of the four dead Americans that it was a video, you lie to her face.
I don't uh believe me, folks, I can't I just can't relate to this.
The cynicism.
And that this woman is nothing.
She's just I don't know that they see it that way, but they'd better not.
They better not look at this woman or her son as nothing.
They wouldn't be where they are without people like this.
Yeah.
as far as By the way, this is not I'm I'm I don't mean to be just indicing Obama here.
I think I think the entire political class is so distant from the way most people in this country really live.
I don't think they have the foggiest idea.
They're just pawns to be moved around on the chessboard, and who can we give what to secure their vote?
It's the most cynical view of people, and these are the people around us who are told have all the compassion, and they're the ones we're told they're the ones who really care.
They care.
How do you how do you lie like this?
I'm gonna play these sound bites back to back, well, not back to back, but pretty much.
It's Pat Smith and it's her son who died next to the ambassador in Libya.
Anderson Cooper talking to her last night on CNN.
First question who told you that they would give you information about your son's death.
Obama told me, Hillary promised me.
They promised me, and I told him, please tell me what happened.
Just tell me what happened.
I told him, please don't give me any baloney that comes through with this political stuff.
And I still don't know.
In fact, today I just heard something more that he died of smoke inhalation.
I look at TV and I see bloody hand prints on walls, thinking, my God, is that my son's?
They haven't told me anything.
They're still studying it.
And the things that they are telling me are just outright lies.
That Susan Rice, she talked to me personally and she said, This is the way it was.
It was because of this film that came out.
Anderson Cooper says, so she told you, Susan Rice told you personally that she thought it was a result of the video of the protest.
Oh, absolutely.
In fact, all of them did.
All of them did.
Leon Panetta actually took my face in his hands like this.
And he says, Trust me, I will tell you what happened.
And so far he's told me nothing.
Nothing at all.
And I want to know.
I cried on Obama's shoulder.
And he then he kind of looked off into the distance.
So that was worthless to me.
I want to know for God's sakes.
Or for Allah's sake, or whoever's sake is there.
What is this Obama looking off in the distance?
Was he trying to find a camera?
Or is he posing for a camera like Bill Clinton did on the way into Ron Brown's memorial?
He's lacking, a laughing and yucking it up with some preacher from Pennsylvania and sees the camera and starts crying within a half a step.
Anderson Cooper can't believe what he's hearing here.
He says, You deserve answers, Miss Smith.
I think so.
I believe I do.
I believe it.
It's my son.
I told Obama personally, I said, look, I had him for his first seventeen years, and then he went into the service, then you got him.
And I won't say it the way I said it, but I said you screwed up.
You didn't do a good job.
I lost my son.
And they said, we'll get back to you.
I promise, I promise you, I will get back to you.
Or trust me.
I like that one the best of all.
Trust me, I will let you know.
Well, I don't trust you anymore.
I'm not going to say lied to me, but you didn't tell me, and you knew.
That's the thing.
They know what happened, and they won't tell her.
Because they can't afford for it to get out and be in conflict with the political story that they've told, which is the video.
Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama blamed a video while a casket's carrying the bodies of the four dead were laying right next to them in that hangar in Dover, Delaware.
They lied even with the caskets five feet away.
That it was a video that did it.
But what ex Obviously there's not a whole lot of respect for this woman.
Among the people she's talking to in the administration.
But to me, folks, it's it's it's just it's unacceptable.
You heard her.
It's my son.
Seventeen years.
Was he a hero?
Did he die For a purpose that helped America, do you know the kind of things this woman wants to know?
She doesn't, she doesn't want to hear that he was defenseless, wasn't properly secured.
Ambassador's family's got to be the same way, but they're probably more attuned to playing the political game.
Brief time out.
We'll come back and we'll get to your phone calls at 800-282-2882.
Don't go away.
Because he had to get up the next day and jet off to Vegas.
Had to go to a fundraiser in Las Vegas and a double back and appear on a Letterman and do a fundraiser with Jay-Z.
And Patty Smith still doesn't know what happened to her son in Benghazi.
But gotta make sure Obama gets to his fundraising, make sure all that stuff happens.
And how did he appearance on a letter go?
Boy, it really looked good there.
How about that that fundraiser with Jay-Z?
Boy Obama, he's got that racial angle covered, doesn't he?
That guy's smart.
Here's Vern in Lawton, Oklahoma.
Vern, great to have you on the EIB network.
Hello, sir.
Hello, Rush.
I can't believe I got it into you.
Well, you did.
It's your big day.
Pardon?
Oh, yeah, of course.
Uh, you just got too many followers.
My question was, this morning I was listening to Fox News when the unemployment figures came out.
Yeah.
They had an individual named Stuart Varney, I guess he's been doing it for 30 years, uh, reporting on business and everything.
He said he had a habit of looking at the narrative, whatever that is, that comes along with the numbers.
Yeah.
And he saw in the narrative that they were reporting that, quote, a large state did not report any numbers.
Yep.
And he's saying, hey, this is an incomplete report.
Why did they put it out?
Now, I they at the time after that I had to leave the house.
I don't listen on the phone uh on the car radio.
I could lowerly pick up CBS, and they're not saying anything about this at all.
They're touting how good it is for Obama.
Yeah, well, it's uh it really it really isn't.
Um it's the second week in the room, it doesn't make any sense.
Um I've I I wasn't gonna spend any time on it today because I uh I I looked at it today and I said, this is this is just as off the wall as last week's unemployment number.
Uh so I'll just leave this to Jack Welch, he's got covered, and then I see that there's a state that didn't report on time.
Whoa!
There's a state that didn't report on time, so that got my interest.
Because folks, I don't believe anything this regime puts up.
And look at for those of you in a conservative blogosphere, if you think I'm seeing conspiracies, deal with it.
I'm not seeing conspiracies, I'm seeing leftists.
I know how leftists play the game.
They have a chance to falsify things to make themselves look better than they are.
They'll do it.
It's time you woke up to realize their potential.
At any rate, Henry Blodgett today writing at Business Insider.
We've gotten to the bottom of the mysterious jobless claims report.
After this morning's surprisingly positive jobless claims, but do you want to know the folks?
Uh the the real numbers here, I don't have it at the top of the stack.
Before any of the adjustments are made, here it is.
It it may be unfair to go back and and and look at the unadjusted numbers because that could be I could be guilty of what I'm accusing the regime of.
Because the unadjusted numbers are never reported.
Everything's always seasonally adjusted, and everybody accepts that.
But I still thought I want to go see what the real numbers are before they started adjusting things.
Because every week they always revise the adjustment.
And it always gets worse than it was when originally reported.
So here you go.
The real live number of new claims.
Well, it's it's it's it's pretty hard to see what seasonable adjustment can turn an actual increase of 25,990 claims.
That's the the hard number.
There were in in real life before any adjustment, there was an increase of nearly 26,000 claims for unemployment.
By the time the BLS puts their story out with the adjustments that they make, and they do this with every report, so I'm not being accusatory here.
But the actual there was an actual increase of 26,000 new claims for unemployment.
That became a decrease of 30,000 from the previous week.
In other words, a net difference of 56,000 claims.
Real claims for unemployment insurance up 26,000.
Then they do their adjustments, and that results in a decrease overall of 30,000.
So we've had in their adjustment a difference of nearly 56,000 claims.
Now they say they've got a formula that is tried and true, and it's used every week, every month, but and it's seasonal and so forth.
But anyway, Henry Blodgett, business insider, guess what state didn't get its data in on time.
California.
It's the eighth largest economy in the world.
The unemployment rate out there is through the roof.
California didn't get its data in in time to make this report.
According to the Business Insider.
Okay, now here are the uh details here from the business insider Henry Blodgett.
After this morning's surprisingly positive jobless claims number was released, three things happened.
One, lots of people felt better about the economy.
Shazam.
Number two, Democrats cheered because they thought the number would help Obama.
And over three, Republicans seized on confusing reports that the numbers had excluded claims from one large state and blasted the number as wrong and misleading.
Since then, since this morning, the argument has raged on, and there have been a variety of different reports and interpretations.
Well, we here at the Bidness Insider are glad to say we finally gotten to the bottom of what happened.
We spoke to a source at the labor department.
And according to this source, who is an analyst at the department, here's what happened.
All states were included in this week's jobless claims.
Assertions that a large state was excluded are false.
But, but, all that means is, no, we didn't exclude a state.
A state just didn't report.
It is likely that some of the jobless claims in one large state, California, weren't included in the claims reported to the Department of Labor.
This happens occasionally, our source says.
When a state's jobless claims bureau is short staffed, sometimes the state doesn't process all the claims that came in during the week in time to get them to the Department of Labor.
The source believes that this is what happened.
See, see, we didn't exclude anything.
They just didn't get us the data.
So they're playing semantics.
Oh, wait a minute.
We resent this accusation that we excluded a state.
Well, then what happened?
Well, California just didn't get the data to us.
Oh.
So you didn't exclude it.
You just didn't have it.
And yet you put the number out anyway.
Yeah.
And then they'll report next week, and then we'll we'll we'll fix this later.
That's exactly what the source told business inside.
California's going to get their numbers in at some point, and then we'll get the right number.
But based on the data that we have now, Shazam, there were 26,000 new applications for unemployment.
But by the time we did our adjustments that we do every week, it was actually a reduction of 30,000.
Yes, Mr. Sturtley, a question.
Doesn't who put who in jail?
Well, the IRS does put people in jail, but that's after an audit and so forth.
This this is no, we're we're supposed to think that well, nothing to see here.
We're just a state, you know, California, it's a big place.
And there's a lot of really committed, wonderful, hard-working bureaucrats out there.
And they're just overwhelmed.
You realize it was Columbus Day last week, and it was uh uh, you know, it it got it got to 75, 80 degrees in parts of the state.
I mean, it was it was a tough week.
The winds got up there, or people worried about Santa Anna.
There's a lot of stuff.
Those people are really working hard in California, but they tried to easily get the number in.
But don't worry because they'll get the number in eventually, and when they do, then we'll report with an adjustment.
But by the time that happens, all this will be forgotten.
And the impact.
So the regimes out there able to, okay, at 7.8% unemployment last week, and unemployment claims this week are as the lowest they've been since 2008.
Bam, Shazam.
And I'm sure that I got conservative bloggers who will caution me later tonight.
Don't go talking about conspiracies.
It's simply a statistical anomaly.
And it's clear that if that's said again, like it was last week in the unemployment number, it's clear that we don't have enough people that genuinely understand who we're up against.
We're in a war with leftists.
Leftists are liberals, socialists, Marxists, whatever, all of that, and they behave in certain ways.
And one of the things that we know they do is lie.
They just they lie.
You want to know why Obama had a bad debate performance?
Because he could not lie in that format without being a laughing stock.
He couldn't tell everybody how great this economy is, like he did the next day with his teleprompter.
He couldn't truthfully refute anything Romney said.
And he's not going to be able to in the next debate and the debate after that.
And Biden's not going to be able to tonight.
So they'll have to do something else.
And with attack they're taking is, well, you know, Romney's a guy lying.
Romney's a guy.
I you know, Rush, I didn't even recognize Romney with that debate.
I mean, that's not the Romney we all know.
Have you seen it Romney on our TV yet?
That's a real Romney.
This guy, all of a sudden, this they're trying to now say that Romney's becoming a moderate and a centrist.
The real Romney is this extremist right-wing conservative kook.
But uh that that that Romney in the debate, that's not who he that's not the real guy.
That's that's that's all they've got.
That's what they're reduced to.
So the unemployment number, all you need to know is this.
The real number, unemployment claims 26,000.
Up.
26,000 higher than last week.
But then they did the seasonal adjustment, which they always do, not criticizing that, don't misunderstand.
After the adjustment that they always do, that 26,000 new claims became 30,000 fewer than last week.
So a net adjustment of 56,000.
And then you read between the lines and you find out that not all states reported.
That was originally reported as the BLS excluded a state.
And the BLS got very, very mad because they were accused of cheating.
And they said we didn't exclude a state.
You can't say that.
We didn't leave a state out.
They're just a state that didn't report to it.
Oh, okay.
Where there is huge unemployment number, the economy out there, people are leaving that state to try to find jobs.
People are leaving 2,000 people a week are leaving California.
And somehow they just didn't get their numbers in.
So California not part of this number.
But that's okay.
There's no there's nothing chicanerous here.
Next week California will get the numbers in, we'll report the adjustment, and everything will be fine.
Except when the adjustment's reported, it's gonna be way too late because the impact will have already been made.
Yes, the BLS has Obama appointees, but it's also got some Republicans in it.
It's got some career people.
It's like these State Department people testified yesterday.
They're not Obama appointees.
No, no.
The woman, this this uh Charlene Lamb who would not call it terrorism, kept referring to attackers.
She's career.
She's not an Obama appointee.
Now, that doesn't mean she's not a commie babe, liberal, but she's not everybody's going to great pains to point out that she's not.
Wait, we've got some great audio for Trey Gowdy in South Carolina was fabulous.
He said he was tired of being lied to, he wants the truth about all this.
We've got those soundbit coming up, and more of your phone calls.
Isn't that exciting?
after this.
Don't go away.
By the way, Henry Blodgett in this business insider story says Says that California would add 15 to 25,000 new claims to last week's number.
Now last week's number, the raw new claims was 25,000.
And Blodgett says, which became a reduction of 30,000.
Blodgett says that California would add 15,000 to 25,000 to the 26,000.
So the real life number of new claims, which is now 25-9, we'll call it 26,000, could actually be twice as high as that.
But California was left on.
So in other words, not only was the real life number 26,000, that number could be twice as high after California's added.
Now for those of you cringing and claiming that I have uh descended into conspiracy theory.
No, no, no, no.
There's no conspiracy here.
What's going on here is manipulation.
Pure and simple.
Plain and simple.
Plain as day.
There's manipulation going on here, and say it's a conspiracy.
There might well be one, but that's not what I'm alleging.
A state didn't get its numbers in on time.
And it wasn't Rhode Island.
It's California.
Okay, who's next?
Oh, before we go to the phones.
Grab Soundbite 4.
This morning on CNN, after you know, we played the three sound bites of Pat Smith, the mother of Sean Smith, dead, the Benghazi attack next to the ambassador, one of the four American deaths.
She has not been told how he died or even why.
They've continued to blame the video.
And she's beside herself.
All she wants is the truth.
Was her son a hero?
What you know what what steps were taken to safeguard the ambassador and her son?
She getting no answers.
So, and that's on CNN last night.
So this morning on the starting point of Solodad O'Brien is interviewing Axelrod, who may as well be the sitting president for all Obama's doing, is running around debate rehearsing and fundraising.
Talking about the news that we now know there was no protest before the attack in the consulate, and that the State Department said no protest, no video.
Ary intel said none of that had anything to do with that attack.
She said to Axelrod, you know, people have said that you didn't share the facts unless it's really taken a full month to figure out that there was no actual protest outside that mission.
A month later, we're just learning that that was supposed to have been a protest that morphed into the terror attack.
Actually never happened, Mr. Axelrod.
Your story never happened.
And here's what he said.
There is no doubt that that uh videotape created uh turmoil around the world.
Uh and yeah, I don't think anybody disputes that fact.
Stop the tape.
I'm disputing it right here.
Nobody had ever heard of that video.
Nobody had ever said video dates back to June.
Nineteen people had seen it.
No, it this is an insult to everybody's intelligence.
And it's also an indication, folks, of how empty the Obama administration and campaign is.
This is cue this back up to the top, Mike.
This is just even after all this, continue to blame the video.
And then construct the straw man.
There's nobody that disputes that.
There's nobody that supports that.
There is no doubt that that uh videotape created uh turmoil around the world.
Uh and I don't think anybody disputes that fact.
We now know more about this particular attack, and as we've learned those facts, we've shared them.
We send people into dangerous places.
That's part of the job, and we need to make sure that to the extent possible we're protecting uh those diplomats, and nobody feels more strongly about that, Soledad than the president.
Oh, yeah, yeah, we've got to protect.
It's on a plane to Vegas, goes to bed early, uh, meets up with Jay-Z, does letter.
Nobody cares more about these people than the president.
You know, and sadly there are a lot of Americans who believe that simply because he's a Democrat.
And the and the branding is the Democrats care and the Republicans don't.
And I don't see any evidence they care beyond the political value of this or the political damage control that they have to engage in.
So a reporter yesterday afternoon at the White House is Jay Carney got his press briefing.
Lieutenant Colonel Andrew Wood told a committee Jay that diplomatic security there was drawn down not long before the attack on the U.S. consulate, and that U.S. diplomats didn't have enough protection.
Can you give me what level of concern the administration has on that point?
It is inherently risky to represent the United States in some countries around the world that are very dangerous.
And we sometimes, uh, except in situations like this, uh forget that we have thousands of Americans abroad, bravely representing us and our values uh in places like Libya.
Why and other uh regions of the world that can be very dangerous.
What?
In in countries and regions where being a representative of the American government can be risky.
Holy you hear this.
Well, come on, everybody should know it's very risky place to go.
Don't gotta don't jump on our case.
That's a risky thing to do.
These people should have known.
Axelrod said it, and here comes Kearney saying it.
Well, you know, it's inherently risky to represent the U.S. and say, yeah, what this guy is president, it really is.
And then what is this BS about representing us and our values?
What the hell is that?
Us and our values.
Pure political speak.
Well, don't blame us.
Don't blame us.
I mean, Libya, that's a risky place to go.
And these people should have known that.
I mean, don't blame us.
Uh uh the cynicism with these people.
Uh, this is as shameless as I've ever heard anything.
Makes me mad, really.
Here's uh Mike in Virginia Beach.
Glad you called, sir.
Great to have you on the EIB network.
Hey, Russ, it's great to talk with you.
Thank you, sir.
Been a listener since 89, uh regular listener.
My wife listens uh regularly work as well.
And uh we were watching the news last night, and Brett Baer put it together a great montage on uh the administration doubling and tripling down on this uh video uh nonsense uh causing the uh Benghazi bump in the road.
And I just got to thinking, what if on September 12th, Obama unleashed a couple of cruise missiles, blew up a couple of aspirin factories, uh a la Clinton, and you know, wrapped himself in a flag and said, Okay, we've taken out these bad guys, you know.
Anybody else try this, we're gonna do it, and this would all have been done, and he would have been, you know, a suing for re-election.
Don't uh you you may be closer than you realize.
Would anybody be surprised if Obama agreed to a joint operation with Israel into Iran in the next couple weeks.
Well if the poll numbers are that bad and if they get worse, would that surprise you?
Would that surprise you if you did that?
Wouldn't Surprise me.
Not at all.
We put together our own montage yesterday.
It was uh, and it is.
We had every instance of Obama blaming the video, and Hillary blaming the video, and Susan Rice blaming the video, and then Obama at the UN blaming the video.
