You know, that ABC Washington Post poll really is amazing.
I just referenced it in the uh closing moments of the previous Hall of Fame hour.
According to that poll, Obama has a disapproval approval rating of 4650 with women.
Forty-six approve, 50 disapprove.
That is the lowest in the ABC poll since Obama took office, and that is after all the money they spent on the war on women.
All that stuff was Sandra Flock was for nothing.
All this stuff, the war on women and buying birth control pills, and now last night's first two hours of the convention, all abortion, all the time.
The abortions just keep on coming.
This this clown, Touray, who uh is part of the ensemble cast of the three o'clock show in MSNBC, actually said, girls, get your abortions now before the Republicans win.
Honest to God.
And this guy is a star.
He's a rising star in the Democrat Party and in the Democrat media.
Girls get your abortions now before the Republicans win.
Ladies, do you understand there's not there there's no president can do anything about abortion.
There's no elected official that can do one thing legally to stop abortion.
It's the law of the land.
It's called Roe vs.
Wade.
The only thing that can happen is the Supreme Court change.
And that's not going to happen anytime soon.
This is this this this constant ginning up of fear, as though the the the right to an abortion to be taken away, the most important thing the Democrats think they have.
They've got such a test, they have got to go so off the wall fringe extremist left to keep their base intact.
And then when the rest of the country starts watching the convention, they have to start lying through their teeth about what they believe.
At the end of last night, I wouldn't be surprised if these people had no idea who they are.
I couldn't live the way they have to live.
First two hours that convention, say whatever.
Abortion all the time, anywhere, anytime.
Girls get them now before the Republicans win.
And start comparing the Republicans to Nazis.
You just have to say all that cockeyed stuff to keep your base intact.
Then when 9 o'clock rolls around, you have to start lying about what you really believe, so the rest of the country doesn't reject you.
And meanwhile, or all the while, the country is rejecting you.
And that's what the latest polling data proves.
It's what the latest polling data indicates.
It's amazing.
And I this the highest let's put it this way.
The lowest approval rating with women in the ABC poll.
And that's Washington Post 2, since Obama took office after all that money spent on the war on women.
Now my cochlear implant just fell off of my head.
It's on the floor.
And I've got a challenge here.
I need to put it back on.
But well, let me turn the camera off.
Pick it up off the floor.
I'm standing up so I can still talk to you.
I'm not putting this thing back in the little pouch on my belt.
In there.
Brian is now here and is reconnecting it to my collar via alligator clip so that it won't fall off my head, which it just did.
Now I'm back.
Sitting back down, lowering the microphone, and turning the camera back on.
There we are.
Now I don't know why it fell off.
Now, I was gonna add um uh three sound bites here that I want to share with as an illustration of well, once funny, but just illustration of the of the examples that I'm giving here of how off the wall these people are.
Um here's Rama Manual.
This is the funny thing.
This is June 1st this year in Chicago.
It's at a campaign fundraiser for President Obama, and Ram Emanuel, the ballerina, the godfather, is introducing Obama.
President arrives.
The rain stops.
The sun comes out.
Coincidence?
I think not.
He arrives, the sun is out, and things are moving again.
And just two months ago, Obama shows up in Chicago, it's raining, but he shows up, it stops raining rum and manual says, Coincidence, I think not.
He arrives, sun's out.
Well, why wouldn't it work tomorrow night then?
I mean, if Obama could bring the sun out in Chicago in June, why can't he do the same thing in Charlotte in September?
Now, here's Julian Castro.
I made reference to this in the previous hour.
This does not sound like a Democrat.
Democrats normally sit there and encourage you to sit on your ass and collect their their unemployment checks.
And Pelosi loves to tell you that your unemployment check is actually creating economic growth.
What's her ratio?
Every dollar of unemployment benefits equals a dollar 73 in economic growth.
For these four years, they have extolled the virtues of unemployment.
They've promised you as much as you need, 99 weeks, and they blamed it all on Bush.
And they've talked about how caring it is and how wonderful it is.
And they have told you that if you need more, it'll be forthcoming because Barack cares.
I don't know.
Well, where was that last night?
Where was all the adulation for the things they love?
Where was all the attempt to take credit for the great things they think they've done?
No, we didn't get that.
As an example of what we got.
Here is Julian Castro, who, by the way, I'm told doesn't even speak Spanish.
I mean, not that it matters, but this is the guy, Julian Castro.
You know, I don't know if I should say this or not.
I I said Democrats are allowed to make comments based on the way people look.
The Democrats, in fact, live off of what your appearance is, your race, your religion, your sexual orientation.
That's how they identify you.
That's how they categorize you.
Oh, I don't know.
I I okay.
All right.
I just Julian Castro.
He is the um the Barack Obama of 2004.
This is the guy they've got high hopes gonna be the next Obama.
He was last night's keynote speaker.
Uh Mayor San Antonio.
This is this is the guy.
He's the future of the party.
That's just who he is.
And he didn't talk about 99 weeks unemployment, how great it is, and all these other government-provided benefits.
No, no.
Now, in Texas, we believe in the rugged individual.
Stop the tape, Texas!
Yep, they do.
But the Democrats don't.
Texas is not a Democrat state.
San Antonio may be a Democrat town.
Cue that back to the top, Mr. Broadcast Engineer substitute.
We believe in rugged individual in rugged individualism.
The party does not.
Okay, here it is again.
I'll try to let the whole thing go.
It may be the one place where people actually still have bootstraps.
And we expect folks to pull themselves up by him.
But we also recognize that there are some things we can't do alone.
We have to come together and invest in opportunity today for prosperity tomorrow.
Your prosperity is nothing to do with you.
You only gonna have prosperity if everybody uh comes together and invests, as in pays higher taxes.
But what is this?
We believe in the rugged individual.
We expect folks to pull themselves up by their bootstraps.
The hell you say.
When did that happen?
Who knew this?
Hey, don't believe that.
You know, people ask me in the email, I checked it during the top of the hour.
Why did you talk about Michelle's speech?
Folks, I'll be glad to talk about it.
I just don't think she believed a word of it.
Masterfully given speech.
Look, as a performer and judging it as a performance, it was exceptional.
It was as a performance, Michelle Obama's speech was perfection.
Looked at through the prism of what she intended it to accomplish.
It was it was flawlessly executed.
It could not have been better in terms of performance, but it was all lies.
She didn't believe any of it.
She didn't believe anything she said in that speech.
That that's that's it left me cold.
It was a real contradiction.
I'm watching it, I'm listening to it, I'm marveling at her performance, but I knew she didn't mean it.
And by that I mean if if they had said, Michelle, go say what you really want to say.
If they weren't in trouble, if they weren't down in the polls, if they weren't lagging in fundraising, if they'd have heard nothing.
You you you'd have heard all about, you know, eating right, the impacting the grocery store.
You would have heard what she says every day of the week except last night.
We don't hear her talk this way.
And you know the sob stories.
What do you mean was she lying about?
Well, I don't know how to tell you this.
I uh this is sort of a no-win position, but she and Barack did not come from poverty, folks.
They they they didn't face deep struggles.
Michelle's dad in the 70s, his name was Frazier Robinson, and he was a he was a pump operator at the Chicago City water plant.
And it's it's been said that he earned $50,000, $55,000 back in the in the 70s.
I went to the inflation calculator.
You know what $50,000 in the 1970s is equivalent to today?
282,000.
I was making in the 70 when I I left home at age 20, and I was making uh 12,000, 13,000 a year.
I also made that in uh 1980.
Uh regardless, it's the equivalent of 282,000 a year.
Uh her dad was a Democrat precinct captain in the Daily Machine.
He was he was politically he was a ward healer.
And his uh her mother, Marion Robinson was a longtime secretary at Spiegel's, the catalog store.
Uh this why I get so frankly worn out with with this incessant need to try to convince people you came from nothing.
Because the problem with it is we we want to attach virtue to that, which of course it deserves, but there's a there's a problem, and that is that somehow now, if you're not born to the struggle, then whatever you have is illegitimate.
If you're born upper middle class, if you happen to be born in an upper income level, somehow your accomplishments and your achievements just aren't the same as somebody.
And it's all part of this class warfare stuff that tears this country apart.
So this incessant need to fabricate the struggles and the hardship that you come from.
Hers wasn't that tough, and neither was Barack's.
And if you want more details, I'll be happy to provide them.
But I just I was left cold by it because none of it was true.
I know that's not the kind of stuff she really believes.
But it it made me smile in a sense because it told me it reaffirmed for me the trouble these people are in, and they know it.
That convention last night, I'm just gonna tell you again, that convention demonstrated better than anything that's happened yet that they know.
They are governing against the will of the people.
They know that who they really are is out of step with the mainstream of this country.
They know it.
The primetime parts of that convention last night had to be structured on falsehood after falsehood after falsehood if they were to even have a prayer of garnering support from undecided independence, whoever.
I mean, even the fact that Julian Castro goes out there and even mentions this bootstrap business and pulling yourself up in self-reliance, that means that they know this country still believes in that.
This country still believes in rugged individualism.
This country still believes in all the things that 364 days of the year they speak out against.
They know it.
I'm telling you, I think these people are having an identity crisis today.
The media is trying to portray this last night's this gigantic home run because of Michelle's speech.
But I'm telling, folks, when you live falsehoods and live lies, they catch up with you eventually.
And if you have even a tiny bit of conscience, then you have a little guilt.
And I'm telling you, all is not unified and happy on the leftist front.
Here's Michelle Obama.
A little excerpt.
These are things that I did not know.
And I've I here's another thing about that speech hers last night.
Well, look at that.
I gotta take a break.
Folks, I'm sorry, but I have to uh problem is when I say it, there's nothing left to say.
And I know that's why you can't wait for me to say it, but I gotta take a break, otherwise I'm in deep doo-doo here.
Your guiding light through times of trouble, confusion, murkiness, tumult, chaos, a man with whom you could and would totally trust your wife, your daughter, your kids, your animals overnight in any hotel or motel while you're out town on business, Rush Limbaugh.
800-282-2882.
Here's Michelle Obama.
Another thing that struck me.
Her husband has been president for four years, and she had to tell us who he is last night.
Stop and think about that.
Stop and consider that.
Four years ago, empty canvas, he was the Messiah.
He was the one, whatever anybody wanted him to be.
But now she had to tell us about him.
She had to tell us who he is.
I uh After four years, it just struck me as strange.
And there's a lot of stuff she said that I didn't know.
When Barack was a senator and a presidential candidate to me, he was still the guy who picked me up for our dates in a car that was so rusted out.
I I could actually see the pavement going by in a hole in the passenger side door.
He was the guy whose proudest possession was a coffee table he found in a dumpster.
And whose only pair of decent shoes was a half size too small.
Oh, gee, poor guy.
And his brother in the hut still living that way.
I wonder if Michelle's ever seen his college transcripts.
Do you think she has?
You think she knows about his college transcripts?
Or anything that he uh wrote law review at Harvard.
Her parents actually let her get in a car.
It had rusted out holes in the passenger side door.
We really believe that Obama's proudest possession was a coffee table extricated from a dumpster dive.
Sorry, folks.
I just wasn't buying.
By the way, before we get to the phones, a quick question.
Why were Obama's shoes a half size too small?
And we're supposed to conclude from that that the guy was so poor and had so little, and was just barely surviving, and he had to have his most prized possession was a coffee table from a garbage dumpster.
And his shoes that were a half size too small.
Didn't care about material things.
So he goes in to buy a pair of shoes and buys them a half size too small because he doesn't care to buy a pair that fit.
No, whoa, whoa, whoa.
Well, you're telling me that he didn't buy the shoes, he had to get those out of the dumpster too.
Obama was working for a law firm when he started dating Michelle.
He wasn't wearing shoes a half size too small when he was dating Michelle Obama.
He's working in a law firm.
Don't care.
The point is what the the the tugging at our heartstring.
Obama did not grow up in poverty.
His grandmother, the typical white woman, worked in a bank.
Don't give me this down with the struggle business.
He wasn't, he wasn't down with the struggle.
That's the whole point.
If you go back to 2008, the Democrats were wringing their hands because he wasn't authentically black.
That's the reason the Reverend Sharp did a problem with him, and they wrote the column in the LA Times of the Magic Negro.
He wasn't down with the struggle.
He doesn't have slave blood.
You know all that.
You're the official Obama criticizer.
What are you telling me?
That's my point.
They revised the story.
It's a new campaign.
It's time for a new story.
Obama was raised by a banker.
Obama went to one the top private school in Hawaii.
It had swimming pools, tennis courts, it had photo studios.
They both attended elite schools.
Michelle went to Whitney Young.
Whitney Young was a was a public magnet school for Chicago's upper class.
That's where Michelle went to school.
Barack went to Punahou, which is the private prep school for the top strata of Hawaii society.
And then they were both accepted to Ivy League Scruals despite having less than stellar credentials.
You might say that they were affirmative action admissions.
But they didn't come from poverty.
So why is he wearing shoes a half size too small?
Does he not like to cut his toenails?
What's the what is the explanation?
See, these are the things that I ask myself when I listen to this stuff.
And don't get on Michelle has admitted that she was an affirmative action at uh admission at at Princeton.
You people don't they're trying to whip me up into a frenzy on the other side of the glass in there, and I'm not falling for it.
Okay, we're gonna go to the phones.
People have been waiting a long time here, and I know you want to weigh in on this, so we'll start in uh Sterling Heights, Michigan.
Kevin, thanks for your patience, and welcome to the program, sir.
Hi, Ross.
I'm a longtime listener, but a first-time caller, and uh I'm not nervous because I've never been afraid to speak to the truth, which is what you represent.
Well, thank you, sir.
Very much.
Uh one thing I've learned as a conservative is to not take anything at face value but to do my homework.
And as I was watching the first lady last night speak, it just seemed somewhat contrived to me.
And I did my homework this morning, and I found out that uh, yes, indeed, Michelle had gone to school on scholarships that were basically given by black activist groups.
And I also found out that the way that her and Barack Obama met is because she had been mentoring Barack Obama when they both worked at the same law firm.
And the question came to my mind you know, why is he dressing shabby garbage picking and driving a car with a rusted hole in it when he's working for a law firm?
Um I drove a car like that working in a fast food restaurant.
Well, let me tell you the answer.
You've asked the legitimate question.
Obama detested his work in the private sector.
He has said he wrote about it.
He felt like he was uh uh head crossed enemy lines.
He was driving it was a Ford Granada, that was his car, uh, and he was trying to show he's down for the struggle.
He was all of this is designed to create an image that he and Muchell are both down for the struggle.
Uh-huh.
I also got uh I um started wondering about Michelle herself, and I discovered that they were living in her aunt's house at the same time that they were taking vacations at a cottage that they owned in White Cloud, Michigan.
And Michelle's as old as I am.
Now she would have been um of school age during the Jimmy Carter years, and I'll tell you what, my family couldn't afford a cottage anywhere when Jimmy Carter was president.
So I just found the whole thing to be very contrived and you know.
That's great.
I love that.
My family couldn't afford a cottage, the second house of Jimmy Carter was uh was president.
Let me let me tell you you you're you're touching on some things uh here that that happened to be uh true.
Uh Michelle nor Barack Obama ever had summer jobs.
They did not work while they went to school.
There that that that's why, folks, I the the the performance of that speech last night was incomparable.
Maybe better than anything I've ever seen.
Uh in the context of what it was for and and the uh where it was given and what its purpose.
Uh the the little things that I mean, she was that was on a teleprompter, but you'd never know it.
It was it was really professionally unassailable.
It was unprompter.
That was unprompter.
But you wouldn't know it, that's how good it was.
But it was just wasn't true.
And she didn't believe any of it.
That's not what she would say if there weren't any constraints.
That's not what she would say if they were up ten points in the polls.
That's not what she would say if they said, Michelle, go out there, let her whatever's bugging you, whatever you just let her rip.
That's not what she would say last night.
She wouldn't get anywhere near what she said last night.
And Obama himself he won a vacation to Indonesia, Pakistan, India.
Uh he's written about the family going on month-long vacations to the national parks, flying over from Hawaii.
And yet last night they're trying to paint this picture of poverty.
Abject poverty.
Not just poverty, but real abject, rusted out car doors and uh shoes that are half-size too small.
Kevin, I appreciate the call.
This Mary in Houston.
You're next.
Great to have you here on the EIB network.
Hello.
Hi, Rush.
Thank you for taking my call.
You bet.
Uh I too was impressed by uh Michelle's performance last night.
She it it truly was flawless.
And uh I agree with you that she uh did not mean those things and that um much of what she said was uh actually diametrically opposed.
But it was very manipulative, particularly the second part of of the thing, and everybody was caught up in it in it in the the but they would pan the crowd and people were crying and and very emotionally caught up in what she was saying, and I I thought it was it she kept going over and over again about how Barack cares, Barack cares, Barack cares.
It was like a mantra.
And then when she finished I turned and said, Ah, now America has her own Ava Peron.
Uh yes, do you know you know Ava Peron, the wife of Juan Peron, the dictator of Argentina, the one Avita was done about that woman?
Uh she she was the wife of the president of Argentina.
And they made the movie Avita about her.
And she came up from poverty, and she um would work the crowds like that, and she would talk to the the poor and say all that they were doing for them and all the wonderful things they were bringing the country up, et cetera, and all the rather than the rest of the hilt and expensive clothes and who would you rather be compared to, Eva Braun or Eva Peron?
Well, I might rather be Eva Braun to tell you the truth.
I don't think she was as manipulative as Ava Perone.
Well, we don't know.
Back then women uh weren't allowed to be as prominent.
Uh I uh But Ava Per but they did for them what if what the Obamas are doing for us.
Right.
They took Argentina from a first world country to a third world country, and it has not recovered.
And either ours won't either if we stay with Obama.
All right.
I appreciate the call, Mary.
Thanks very much.
You're welcome.
You have a wonderful rest of the week.
Okay?
Bye-bye.
But did what just happened happen?
Did somebody in my audience actually ask me if I knew who Eva Peron was?
I heard that right, that really happened.
Okay.
Hi.
Welcome back.
Great to have you, Rush Limbaugh.
Talent.
On lawn.
From God.
So I checked the email during the break and and uh do you really think that she didn't believe any of that, Rush?
Look, I understand th because the previous caller made a good point.
The last half of uh Michelle's speech was manipulative.
It was a it was a giant emotional tug.
And there's no question that was the intent.
I mean, who are they going after?
Going after women.
They're they're trying to shore up the female vote, and they're doing that with a with a strictly emotional pitch.
Did anybody catch, by the way, when she presents her family history and and Obama's.
What's obvious about it?
They both grew up in normal two parent American homes.
Healthy, mom and dad, two parent American families.
That's something that doesn't happen enough in this country anymore.
There are way too many single parent homes out there.
These two do not have, contrary to what they are attempting to accomplish here, they do not have a past that is replete with a lot in common with modern day poor people, modern day lower middle class people.
They don't have a lot in common.
Their family upbringing and family structure was quite normal.
Whoa.
Kind of stuff that television shows in the 50s were made about, to be quite honest with you.
Black and white TV days, exactly.
Now Michelle's parents never were divorced, uh Barack's were, but still there was always a father there somewhere.
That was a two-parent and the upbringing was solid middle class.
The expectations, go to college, go to school, make it happen, they did it.
Neither of those two thought they weren't going to live past age twenty one, for example, which is what I hear is common in poor neighborhoods today.
But I'll just I'll share with you some other thoughts that I had.
By the way, I mispronounced the name of the highfalutin school.
It's Punahoe.
I think I said Punahu.
That's Punahoe in Hawaii, but it is for the upper crust out there.
That's that's the place.
That's the Sidwell Friends.
It's where everybody wants their kids to get into.
Parents work as hard there as anywhere else to get their kids into that school.
That's where Obama went.
I don't know if he had a voucher to get in there or not.
I don't know what the finances were.
His mother worked at a bank and was not nearly as bad off as Michelle.
What was this?
Oh, glass ceiling people she'd trained and got promoted above her.
Yeah, let's yank the heartstrings again.
Now, based on Michelle's speech last night, I'm supposed to know now that the Obamas don't care about material possessions.
She said that.
Despite the cost of her wardrobe, despite the lavish parties, despite the Hollywood fundraisers, and despite she said she traveled this country.
I said, Well, what about the world?
How about all these separate vacations that you take, madam?
Uh, with the separate airplane and a traveling party of 35 or 40 that you're not paying for, and you want us to believe that you don't care about material things?
Sorry, I didn't swallow that one.
I was unable to forget these lavish vacations.
As I was listening to this hard scrabble story last night.
I was told that I'm supposed to accept and believe that they are caring people.
Despite Barack's half-brother still living in a hut and having to ask virtual strangers for help to pay his medical bills.
Despite that, Barack cares.
That's what they told me.
I have to believe.
I have to trust Barack cares, but his brother still lives in a hut.
If my brother lived in a hut and I heard about my brother living in a hut, some days I'd leave him there, but I'd get him out of it.
And you would too.
Particularly after the world found out about it, if the world found out that you are a multiple millionaire, and your brother's living in a hut.
You don't do anything about it, and your wife goes out and gives a speech to the nation telling us that he cares.
Asking us to believe a lot.
And as I said, I was curious why she felt The need to reintroduce herself and her father and her husband.
I I was asking myself last night, did the past four years not happen?
Do we not know that she's got a garden?
Do we not know that she wants to impact the food in the grocery store?
Are we supposed to judge her husband on his composite biography and their dates and the and the car and the dumpster diving coffee table?
Not the unemployment, not the underemployment, not the deficit, not the 47 million people on food stamps, not the $4,000 annual drop in median family income.
That doesn't matter.
We're supposed to support this guy because he cares, and he picked his wife up in a car with a hole in the door, and dumpster dove for a coffee table, his most prized possession, his shoes are half size too small.
That stuff doesn't matter to me.
And there was no amount, nothing she could say last night that would make that matter to me.
Twenty-three million Americans out of work matters to me.
Economic Malays collapse, that matters to me.
I have to go.
Remind me when we get back here, I'll make a note myself.
Another thing.
Michelle talked about late at night Barack hunched painfully at his desk reading letters from Americans who are struggling and shuffling.
And what she said that he told her about that blew my mind.
