Welcome to today's edition of the Rush 24-7 podcast.
Nope, I haven't.
I haven't seen any of the Olympics since Saturday.
I don't know that I'll be watching anymore.
It's too bad because we had some great stories come out.
I guess if it ain't great, I'll hear about it.
But you watched any of the Olympics since you haven't watched any.
Yeah, figures.
Greetings, my friends.
How are you?
Great to have you here.
Rush Limbaugh off and running on an EIB network and the Limbaugh Institute for Advanced Conservative Studies.
Here's the telephone number if you want to be on the program.

Latest big lie from Obama's truth team is that Mitt Romney wants to raise taxes on Americans while Obama wants to cut taxes.
That's the latest big lie.
And they're basing this ludicrous claim on a study that was written by an Obama supporter who was a senior economist for public finance and tax policy for Obama's Council of Economic Advisors.
And they're trying to make this thing stick, folks, by calling Romney Romney Hood.
Romney Hood.
They've got ads.
They've got all their talkmeisters out.
They're now spreading that word.
Romney is Romney Hood.
The only problem is everybody misunderstands the Robin Hood story.
I'll bet you, I'll bet half the people, maybe more than half the people in this country, think that what Robin Hood did was steal from the rich and take back and give it to Lady Marion so that she would put out.
If you watched the TV show, that's what you probably thought Rob.
Well, it was when I was growing up, Robin Hood and his band of Mary Men, and there's Lady Marion in there, and the sheriff of Nottingham Forest was an evil guy, but the sheriff of Nottingham Forest was trying to always capture Romney Hood.
Everybody thinks that Robin Hood was out there stealing money from the rich and taking it back and giving it to the citizens of Sherwood Forest.
Robin Hood was stealing from the government.
Robin Hood was a Tea Party activist.
Robin Hood was anti-taxes.
And it's another myth that so many people misunderstand what Robin Hood's all about.
And of course, the Democrats don't care about the truth.
They care about the illusion that they can carry forward.
So Obama now trying to call Romney Romney Hood.
Let's go to the audio soundbites.
Here is, and by the way, this is not new.
This is not new.
Now, this is Obama in Stanford, Connecticut.
He had a fundraiser last night at the home of movie tycoon Harvey Weinstein.
Now, Harvey Weinstein is one of these guys who were talking about yesterday, talking about Charles Murray's piece on capitalism and why it's such a dirty word now.
Remember, one of Charles Murray's a great, well, he's a philosopher to sociologist, think tank guy.
I've met him.
And he says that the problem with capitalism is that there are a lot of liberal capitalists who are embarrassed and they don't talk it up and they don't admit it and they don't ascribe capitalism to their success.
But they are big-time capitalists.
They also are people who have separated virtue from capitalism.
As such, they seek to inoculate themselves, many criticism being rich, by running around and supporting candidates who attack the rich all the time.
So here you've got a guy, Weinstein, and he's been big with Clinton.
This is a $35,000 plate fundraiser at his Westport, Connecticut Waterside estate.
And, you know, I guess I'm more and more comfortable expressing my naivete to you because there's just some things I don't understand.
Well, I understand them.
I'm conflicted.
I understand it, then I don't understand it at the same time.
Like, I don't understand how any wealthy person can oppose the system that made them wealthy, but I know that they do.
And many of them do it to foreclose others from getting rich.
Many of them, once they've got theirs, they want the ladder taken away.
They've climbed the ladder, and then they take it away, and they do this so that competitors can't climb the ladder.
They get in bed with government, crony capitalism.
Government helps them up the ladder.
They succeed, and then they pull the ladder away.
And this has been Weinstein's trick.
Weinstein has been buddy-buddy with Democrat presidents for as long as there have been in his lifetime.
And at the same time, I asked myself, does Weinstein know what this guy plans?
Does a guy raising $35,000 a plate know what is in store for this country?
You know, sometimes I go nuts asking myself these questions.
I'll sit there, I'm in moments of solitude, and I'm pondering this stuff.
And I ask, do these people really know, or are they dunces?
Do they really know what this is not your average Democrat, Barack Obama?
This is not Bill Clinton yucking around Jason Babes after you go to a ball game, have a couple of beers and a hot dog.
This is a different thing.
Do these guys not know what's, or do they figure they don't care?
They've got theirs.
They figure people are always going to scrounge up whatever it is to go to the movies, so who cares?
Literally, folks, I sometimes go nuts trying to intellectually understand this.
I live in Realville.
I'm seldom overcome with the emotion of any of this, and that's where most people happen to reside.
So anyway, Weinstein's out there, $35,000 a plate fundraiser.
And I'm thinking he's got to know that if this guy succeeds anymore, that this the whole notion of this being a wealth-generating economy in country, the days are over.
What is there to support?
For anybody who's been successful, what is there to support in Barack Obama?
I literally go nuts asking myself the question.
And then, of course, I answer it.
I know what the answers are that explain it, but they don't make sense to me if I assume the people I'm thinking about have any self-respect.
I can give you all the reasons I gave you yesterday.
Explain liberal capitalists, and they make perfect sense.
And it still doesn't satisfy me.
I guess what I'm getting at is I still think there's an opportunity to get through to these people.
That may be stupid to think, too.
Anyway, here's look at it.
Could be nothing more than these people are just celebrity.
What's the word that I can't say?
They're groupies.
They're in the movie, but they're groupies themselves.
They just pay and raise money to hang around power.
There's all kinds of stuff in here that the things I wouldn't do, don't do, I'm not interested in.
And so it gets frustrating.
I just see people who are theoretically smart doing absolutely stupid, destructive things.
And I would love to sit down.
Do you really, do you know, you understand what you're doing, raising money and supporting this guy?
You understand what you're doing to the future movie-buying public?
You understand what's going to happen to this country if this guy wins?
And I'm left to conclude they don't understand or they don't care or they do understand and they support it for whatever reason.
It could be nothing more complicated than just a bunch of celebrity intercoursers.
Anyway, so I had 35 grand fundraiser at Harvey Wine, and then after that, Obama fled and went someplace else that was for 75 bucks to get in and 400 people or what have you.
And that's where they announced this Romneyhood business, that Romney is the problem.
Romney is going to raise your taxes.
Romney's going to take your money away from you.
It's mind-numbing to listen to all this.
Here's Obama speaking at Weinstein's fundraiser last night.
He'd asked the middle class to pay more in taxes so that he could give another $250,000 tax cut to people making more than $3 million a year.
It's like Robin Hood in reverse.
It's Romneyhood.
These people are idiots.
They are abject idiots.
The Anna Winters of the world, the Sarah Jessica, they're absolute blooming idiots.
They are applauding their own demise.
They are applauding the guy that's going to end it for them.
But they don't think so, don't understand it.
So when I can't intellectually understand something, that's when I get frustrated.
When something doesn't make common sense to me, that's when I get frustrated.
Anyway, I'm getting sidetracked with this.
I'm just sharing my stream of consciousness with you, and it's not good form because it's just, I'm just babbling here.
I don't know where I'm going.
I'm just sharing frustration.
Anyway, Romney Hood.
Turns out this is another page from the Democrat Party playbook.
There's nothing new about this.
Let's go back.
We've got soundbites here ranging from 1995 to 2011.
The montage includes Representative Albert Wynn, Democrat Maryland, Debbie Blabbermouse Schultz in Florida, Clarence Page of the Chicago Tribune, the Deimos Public Policy Foundation, David Callahan, Charles Blow from the New York Times, and Vice President Al Gore.
This is just soundbites, montage of soundbites from 1995 through the present.
Once again, they're playing Robin Hood in reverse, taking from the poor to give to the rich.
Really, it's like reverse Robin Hoodism.
It's really shocking.
Reverse Robin Hood.
This is Reaganomics on steroids.
Robin Hood in reverse.
You cannot play Robin Hood in reverse.
It's Robin Hood in reverse.
Take from the kids.
Take from education.
Take from protecting our water.
Oh, yeah.
Oh, God.
How can I forget that?
In addition, yeah, Romney wants the poison of water.
Pelosi said Romney wants everybody to get E. coli.
So the Republicans want to poison the water.
They want to poison the air.
They want arsenic in the water.
Pelosi says the Republicans want everybody to get E. coli.
And the Democrats have been using his Robin Hood in reverse business since 1995.
They must think it works.
And maybe it does.
They must think it works.
Here's Pelosi yesterday.
She was near here.
You know, she was in town.
She was a Boca Raton.
She came in.
She did a fundraiser for Lois Frankel.
Lois Frankl, the mayor of West Palm Beach.
I ran into Lois Frankel.
What you remember the story?
No, we're out to dinner here at the Palm Beach Steakhouse.
And Lois Frankel, mayor of West Palm Beach, former member of Congress, she was not, well, Florida legislature.
She was big in Bush gore 2000.
She's best buds with that Florida Supreme Court Justice, Barbara Pariente.
And she was all over television during Bush gore, you know, mouthing the Democrat line.
She's now mayor of West Palm Beach.
We're all in there.
I'm just in with myself, another couple of maybe four people at our table.
Mayor Frankel's over there at a big circle table of 10.
And I forget how it happened, but she wanted a picture, so posed for a picture.
Ended up leaving the restaurant.
Here she comes again.
She'd been around the corner at Sprinkles getting some ice cream.
And she and her party come walking.
Just nice as people, fun.
And the picture makes it in the paper.
Lois Frankel, she was very nice.
But anyway, Pelosi came in to a fundraiser for her.
And this was, after that, she ended up doing a bokeh at an event for a congressional candidate.
And this is what she said.
I said to them, Do you have children who breathe air?
Do you have grandchildren who drink water?
As a mom, I was vigilant about food safety, right, moms?
I mean, you could depend on the government for one thing.
It was about you had to be able to trust the water that our kids drank and the food that they ate.
But this is the E. coli club.
Were you able to hear that?
That's horrible, Aldi.
I apologize today.
Here's what she said.
I say to them, the Republicans, do you have children that breathe air?
Do you have grandchildren to drink water?
No, actually, we don't, Pelosi.
Our kids just eat Mars dust.
It's got everything in it you need.
As a mom, I was vigilant about food safety, right, moms?
I mean, if you could depend on government for one thing, it was that you had to be able to trust the water that our kids drank and the food that our kids ate.
But this is the eco-like one.
So the Republicans want to – this is not new either.
The Republicans want to poison the water.
They want to poison the air.
And only government can save people from all this.
Government's what screws everything up.
Let's go back to 1995.
This is a soundbite from Rush Limbaugh, the television show.
It's another montage of Democrats with what was big then.
Why do the Republicans want to take apples and milk away from six-year-olds?
Starving children is not the solution to balancing our budget.
The Republicans are taking food out of the mouths of millions of needy and middle-class children.
It's cruel to kids.
Stop declaring war on our kids.
War on their children.
War on their children.
I also would like to speak to a moment about the mean-spiritedness I'm hearing about on the floor today.
But how can they be so mean-spirited?
These cuts are mean-spirited.
The mean-spirited Republicans.
It is mean-spirited.
It is vicious.
These draconian, mean-spirited, and immoral cuts in funding.
We're seeing draconian cuts in all sorts of social service programs.
We're going to let the kids go hungry again.
They're coming for our children.
They're coming for the poor.
They're coming for the sick, the elderly, and the disabled.
This stuff, that's 1995.
That's 12 years ago.
Yeah, 12 years ago.
They keep doing this stuff.
Romney Hood, Robin Hood, reverse Robin Hood, poison the air, poison the water.
Why does anybody vote for these people anymore?
Why does anybody vote for them?
How do they get a single vote?
I'm going nuts trying to answer the question.
And we are back, El Rushball, on the cutting edge of societal evolution.
Here's a new ad, what's a portion of a new ad from Priorities USA, which is an Obama PAC.
It's called Understands.
In the ad, got an unemployed steel worker explaining how he lost his job and lost his wife because of Mitt Romney.
When Mitt Romney and Bain closed the plant, I lost my health care.
And my family lost their health care.
And a short time after that, my wife became ill.
I don't know how long she was sick.
And I think maybe she didn't say anything because she knew that we couldn't afford the insurance.
And then one day she became ill, and I took her up to the Jackson County Hospital and admitted her for pneumonia, and that's when they found the cancer.
And by then, it was stage four.
There was nothing they could do for her.
And she passed away in 22 days.
I do not think Mitt Romney realizes what he's done to anyone.
And furthermore, I do not think Mitt Romney is concerned.
So I guess this stuff works, folks.
Starve the kids.
They poison the air.
Republicans poison the water.
The Republicans are spreading E. coli.
The Republicans wanted to cut food from kids' mouths.
They take food out of their mouths in the 1995 school lunch program.
The Republicans, now Robin Hood in reverse.
Romney's going to go out there and he's going to take even more from the poor.
I don't know they had any left.
He's going to take even more for the poor, give it to himself.
And now, and now, Romney is killing people.
Romney is forcing people to get cancer.
And then when they get cancer, he's not allowing them to be treated.
So we have a campaign message here.
Basically, Republicans commit murder.
Poison the water, poison the air, starve kids.
The Democrats keep doing this stuff.
They've been doing it for as long as I'm alive, because it must work.
How do you?
I mean, he's a murderer.
Romney is not just a felon now, he's a murderer.
By the way, the steel company in the ad, guy's name, by the way, is Joe Soptic or Soptic.
I'm not sure you pronounce it.
S-O-P-T-I-C.
The guy who said, when Mitt Romney and Bain closed the plant, I lost my health care.
Family lost their health care a short time after that.
Wife became ill and died.
Romney killed my wife, whatever.
That's the steel company that was closed down years after Romney left Maine.
Romney had nothing to do with closing the steel plant or ending the health care layer or anything like this, but it doesn't matter.
It doesn't matter.
Republicans starve kids.
Poison the water.
Poison the food.
Spread E. coli.
Can malaria be next?
Meanwhile, it's the Democrats who are aborting themselves out of existence.
It's Republicans that want to kill.
I'm going to tell you, it is an utter and total waste of time to even engage this.
During the break, I was imagining, okay, what happens if Snurdley gives me a Democrat caller who actually wants to make the case that Republicans are poisoning food?
I'm not going to sit here and even for five seconds talk about it.
To have to engage in something like that and to have to get into a discussion with some blockhead and say, do you really think that there's a political party that are poisoning people?
And the guy says yes.
Where do you go from there?
You hang up.
You're an idiot.
Don't waste my time.
But now, extrapolate that or make it larger.
What are Republicans supposed to do?
If the Republicans run out there, say, no, we don't poison the water.
Well, no, no, Democrats are wrong.
We haven't poisoned.
Hey, kids, we're not trying to take food away.
It's absurd.
It's literally absurd.
Yet, I'm told that the Democrats keep doing this because it keeps working, because there are people that vote for the Democrats because they believe all this stuff.
That Republicans want to poison the air.
This is, I guess, this new civility that we hear so much about from the Democrats.
Have the Democrats blamed the Republicans for inventing AIDS yet?
In fact, I think that already happened.
Not necessarily the Republicans, but somebody blamed the CIA on it or for it or the Department of Defense when the Republicans ran the show.
And so now, Al Romney wants steelworkers' wives to get cancer and die.
And you've got Democrats out there hearing this, and their tongues hit the floor, and they're going to go, oh, yeah, yeah, man, really great ad, really, really great ad.
And a guy's calling, I want to talk about it.
You have to engage people in.
I mean, try to imagine being in a group of people and some lunatic accuses you as a Republican of wanting to starve kids.
You actually get into a discussion about that and try to convince him he's wrong.
You have no prayer.
You don't have a chance.
Now, how upside down?
How upside down is that?
That you don't have a prayer.
Or if somebody's going to believe that, you don't have a prayer of changing their mind.
If some glittering jewel of colossal ignorance really believes this stuff and you end up in a conversation with him, there's no way you're going to change his mind.
You're dealing with something barely human in the first place, in terms of intelligence.
So you take this further than you say, okay, as a political party, what, how should the Republicans, look, it's real.
There's an attitude.
Mitt Romney killed this guy's wife.
What's Romney supposed to say?
No, no, Mr. Mr. Soptic, I didn't mean to kill your wife.
What do you say?
No, Mr. Soptic, I left Bain Capital before my company killed your wife.
No, Mr. Soptic, my company didn't kill your wife.
Cancer's cancer, and it's a sad thing, but it happens to a lot of people.
Oh, way to go, way to be insensitive, Mr. Romney.
So it's okay that his wife got cancer.
What do you do with this kind of lunacy?
What do you do with it?
These people are trying to wipe out Christianity.
They're trying to eliminate the Constitution.
And we've got to sit here and defend the notion that we want to kill people and poison the water and the air.
All right.
So I guess it's the Chicago way.
They bring a knife, you bring a gun.
They accuse you of spreading E. coli.
You accuse them of spreading Ebola.
They accuse you of poisoning the water.
You accuse them of poisoning the scotch.
They accuse you of poisoning the food.
You accuse them of trying to spread nuclear waste all over the country.
Kill everybody.
They accuse us of trying to starve kids.
We say, well, you're trying to starve the country.
And then there's this tennis match back and forth.
The American voter going, well, they think they're going to starve kids, starve the whole country.
Okay, which is worse?
Which I want to vote for?
Starving kids or starving the whole country?
I guess I'll vote for starving the kids, because more people will live.
And then, well, yeah, it's good radio when that kind of stuff happens, but I mean.
So then, on the other side of this, let's get into some arguments over who's going to speak at the Republican convention.
And the Veep, Bill Crystal's out there now saying that he's got, yeah, Thursday is the day to watch for Romney's Veep pick.
Bill Crystal, a weekly standard, appeared on Fox News where he discussed an editorial published over the weekend in which he recommends that Romney either pick Paul Ryan or Marco Rubio.
He actually said, by the way, beyond that, he said, but he's heard that Chris Christie is back in the mix.
And he would love for it to be Chris Christie.
Rubio, Ryan, both good, but if it's Chris Christie, that Crystal will be very, very happy.
Stuart Varney, the fill-in host on Fox, asked Crystal to elaborate on his publication calling for Ryan Arubio to join Romney on the ticket.
Crystal took the opportunity to say that he recently learned that Chris Christie is also still in the running.
And he went on to say that he thinks that Thursday is the day to watch as the most likely time in which Romney would reveal his VP pick.
He said, you look at Romney's schedule.
He's got events in Illinois Tuesday, Iowa Wednesday, a fundraising breakfast Thursday morning in New York.
His calendar is then clear.
So far as I, Bill Crystal, can tell, Thursday afternoon of Friday.
Then he starts a barnstorming tour Saturday, Virginia, North Carolina Sunday, Florida, Monday, Ohio Tuesday.
It'd be pretty weird, I think, to do this four-day tour through the four swing states without having picked a VP.
Why would it be weird to go through without picking a VP yet?
I can actually see waiting until the night of the convention to pick the VP or to announce it.
At any rate, so Chris Christie, Crystal likes Christie back in the mix.
Rubio and maybe Paul Ryan.
No, no, no, don't miss it.
What I meant was that when the initial roster of speakers was announced for the Republican Convention, there weren't too many conservatives listed there.
And Santorum, who has offered every ounce of assistance, has been rebuffed.
And his name wasn't on the list to speak.
So some people made some noise about it.
And last night they announced Santorum's going to speak, which is a good thing.
No, no, don't misunderstand me.
Oh, speaking of the VEEP business, Obama is out there.
He whispered to some people yesterday, he thinks it's going to be Petraeus.
Yeah.
And Drudge has run with this as the lead item, and that is going to be Petraeus as the VEEP.
General Petraeus.
Do you remember him?
General Betreus in the moveon.org ad back during Iraq surge era, so forth.
So a lot of names are floating around out there.
It's also been announced that Jimmy Carter is going to speak at the Democrat convention by video.
They're not actually letting him in the convention hall.
Former President Jimmy Carter, well, when they told him they weren't going to let Michael Moore sit next to him, I think he threw a fit.
Former President Jimmy Carter will not be attending a Democrat National Convention in Charlotte, and a lot of other people may not.
You know, they're really worried that on the big Thursday night when Obama accepts in front of the Styrofoam Greek columns at Bank of America Field that they're not going to fill it.
They're worried now they won't fill up that stadium.
Jimmy Sena knows that Roseland and I regret that we'll be unable to be at the Democrat convention this year in Charlotte.
However, we remain steadfast in our support for President Obama and the progress he'll make in the next four.
What progress?
He's not making any progress.
Nobody's making any progress.
There isn't any progress.
In fact, progress is looked upon as a problem by these people.
What progress?
There is no progress.
No matter how you define it, there's no, not for the American people.
It might be progress for big government socialist types.
Carter, who spent his post-White House years hammering nails at Habitat for Humanity, will offer unique insights on Obama as a global leader on Tuesday, September 4th.
Unique insights on Obama as a global leader.
What are we going to get?
Videotape highlights of Obama bowing down to this leader and bowing down to that leader and apologizing to this foreign leader and apologizing to that one?
What unique insights are there on Obama as a global leader?
I got to take a brief time out here.
Yeah, Obama won the peace prize.
So did Jimmy Carter win the peace prize, but they hadn't done anything for it.
Neither of them have.
But I got to take a brief time out here, folks.
It's obscene profit time here on the EIB network.
Don't go away.
We'll be right back.
Okay, so Jimmy Carter is going to offer unique insights on Obama as a global leader on September 4th at the Democrat National Convention.
Now, made mention of something at the end of yesterday's program.
You may not have heard it.
Howard Feynman, he's always been at Newsweek.
For as long as I've been doing this, Howard Feynman's been at Newsweek, but he's not at Newsweek anymore.
He's now over at the Huffing and Puffington Post.
And he occasionally still has his guest shot over there at MSNBC.
Now, Howard Feynman once came in and did a week-long tag-along with me as he was writing a cover story on me for Newsweek, the mid-90s.
And then on Thursday of that week, Time magazine got whiff of it.
So they ran their own cover of me, just a picture.
There wasn't really a story on me, but when Newsweek heard Time had learned they were going to do the cover, they broomed it.
They didn't do it.
But anyway, I spent a week with this guy.
Now, he's from Pittsburgh.
Now, he's obviously a lib, and he's a Democrat.
I never thought he was nuts.
I never thought he was part of this crop of Democrats.
But then I saw that he tweeted something, which has totally changed my opinion of Howard Feynman.
He tweeted, Brits long ago lost their empire.
They've got some social strife, but overall, they're showing us how to lose global power gracefully.
Show us how to lose global power gracefully.
A tantamount admission that that's exactly what Obama's doing.
Obama is a steward of a nation in decline.
Obama is overseeing the decline.
Obama is the author of the decline.
And now we find that that's good.
And that we can learn from the Brits how to lose global power gracefully.
Yes, there is a graceful way to lose global power.
There's a wonderful way to go out there and become a doormat.
And in the process, this is what we get now in the UK Telegraph.
Beijing tells U.S. to shut up over South China Sea tensions.
Do you think that the Chikoms, when either of the Bushes were president, or when Reagan was president, or even maybe Clinton was president, do you think the Chikoms would have put it out there to the U.S. just to shut up over South China Sea tensions?
Talk about a diplomatic breach.
So I guess now we know what Obama's unique insights of being a global leader are.
You sit there and you preside over the decline of the United States as a superpower.
You sit there, and maybe you do that because it was never a good thing that we were a superpower.
That's probably it.
It was never a good thing because what did we do?
Well, as a superpower in the world of Obama, we went around and we stole everything from everybody.
And we subjugated people and we enforced freedom on them.
Yeah, that's right.
We forced our way of life on people.
We went in there, we liberated them from bondage and poverty, and then we made them live in freedom.
And who were we to impose freedom on people?
Who do we think we are?
And then we stole their oil and we stole their natural gas.
And then we stole their diamonds and we started calling them blood diamonds.
And then we propped up thug regimes of white people.
And we went out there and we made sure that third world nations stayed third world and poor and so forth while we enforced freedom.
What a horrible place this country has been.
But now it's time to give it up.
Now it's time to give away this superpower business.
Now it's time to give away our weapons of deterrence, give away.
Vestiges of our strength.
It's time now to lose global power gracefully.
Obama knows how to do it on his own.
That's why he got the Peace Prize.
But the Brits can show us how to do it gracefully.
And we're seeing lessons now right in front of our faces as we watch the Olympics.
I guess that's the message.
So there you have it.
That's the future.
On our Howard Feynman and Barack Obama.
And the first hour of broadcast excellence is in the can, my friends.
Where did it go?
Export Selection
