Time Text
Welcome to today's edition of The Rush 24 7 podcast.
So I'm walking through the library last night, the television sets on.
I had it on for other people.
I don't watch it.
I had it on.
Well no, there's no football on, so why have it on?
Anyway, damages hadn't started yet, so no reason to have it on.
And I walk by and I hear Obama.
I'm maybe looking at the screen.
I hear Obama say something about, well, here.
We got the sound by grab grab number seven.
I heard this and I just I stopped dead in my tracks.
And I almost started trying to pull my hair out.
And I said, who in the world is going to believe this?
There are 153 structurally deficient bridges that need to be repaired.
Four of them are near here.
On or around the belt line.
Why would we wait to act until another bridge falls?
When did the last one fall?
What was the first stimulus for?
What was the first trillion dollars for to fix all these bridges?
153 structurally deficient bridges.
He's admitting that during his reign he hasn't done anything about any of these deficient bridges.
Why wait for the he's got this little bill is waving around.
He hasn't filed a bill.
There is no jobs bill of Obama's that has been filed in Congress.
Was right yesterday.
Louis Gormert filed his own two-page job bill, and it's uh it's called the American Jobs Act.
They stole Little Barry's title, stole his name, stole the name of his bill.
Little Barry's out there waving this thing around as though you just get the there are millions of jobs in that 155-page thing he's waving around.
And Gallup.
Just just issue.
I just saw this.
Gallup's got a poll result, apparently out there that a majority of Americans want the jobs bill passed.
Sorry, majority of Americans, it isn't gonna be passed.
There's no intention for this thing to pass in all or in part.
There's no way.
There are how many Democrat senators are up for re-election in 2012?
That's the main reason it's not gonna be passed.
Twenty, is it 28, 20?
Well, it's in the it's over 20.
There are a lot of Democrat senators up for re-election 2012.
There's no way this jobs bill is even going to get a vote in the Senate.
There's no way Dingy Harry is gonna subject his people.
Not after what happened in New York 9, not whatever happened in New Jersey, and after what happened in uh Virginia and Scott Brown's election in uh in Massachusetts.
Hi folks, how are you?
Rush Limbaugh, I think, therefore I am here behind the uh golden EIB microphone.
Our telephone number, if you want to be on the program, is 800-282-2882, the email address lrushball at EIBNet.com.
Don't worry about looking up the exact number, snurdly.
It's not it's not that big a deal.
But it's just uh I just I heard this.
Why wait till another bridge fails?
He's in Raleigh, North Carolina yesterday with this, and Bite Me is in North Carolina today.
So those people got two days of traffic tie-ups.
James Carville has a column at CNN.com.
There isn't any audio of this because it's um it's written, but uh uh Obama has Carville panicking out there.
Twenty-one Democrats are up for re-election in 2012, plus uh plus the the two independents.
Well, who's the second?
Oh, Lieberman?
Lieberman and uh and Bernie Sanders.
Oh, yeah, he calls himself right, but he's a socialist.
Whatever.
Here we got Jan Shikowski, who is uh from Illinois.
She was on Don and Roma yesterday on the Big 89, WLS, they're probably not gonna like me calling that, but that's what it was when I was growing up.
It's always gonna be the big 89 to me, WLS Chicago.
She's out there saying, of course we have to take your money.
Of course we have to take your money in the form of taxes.
Of course we have to take what you earn.
Jan Shikowski said that of course we have to take what you earn.
We've got to do all these things with it.
And then they talk, then the things that she lists are firemen and cops.
Since when did the federal government start paying for firemen and cops?
This whole, it's it's all it's all a scam.
Anyway, you poor people, if you really exist in the majority of this Gallup poll who want this jobs bill passed, you're being scammed.
There is no jobs bill, and there's no jobs in that bill.
All that is is tax increases.
So James Carville's out there saying, people often ask me what advice I would give the White House about various things.
Today, I was mulling over election results from New York and Nevada while thinking about that very question.
What should the White House do now?
And one word came to mind panic.
We are far past sending out talking points.
Don't attempt to dumb it down.
We can't stand any more explanations.
Have you talked to any Democrats senators lately?
I have.
It's pretty damn clear they're not happy campers.
This is what I would say to President Obama.
The time's come to demand a plan of action that requires a complete change from the direction you're headed.
I don't know how else to break this down.
Simply put, fire somebody.
No, fire a lot of people.
This may be news to you, but this is not going well.
For precedency Russian Army 64th Division at Stalingrad, there were enough deaths at Stalingrad to make the entire Tea Party collectively orgasm.
If you love me, help me pass the bill, Obama says.
Here, grab that bite.
That's number six.
Here's Obama.
This is pathetic.
If you love me, you gotta help me pass this bill.
If you love me, you gotta help me pass this bill.
It starts with your help.
If you love me, the president of the United States should go out there.
If you love me, you gotta help me pass this bill.
Hey, Mr. President, if you love us, you gotta lower our taxes.
Mr. President, if you love us, you gotta help us be able to make our house payments so we don't have our hounds hounds foreclosed on.
Mr. President, if you love us, you gotta stop spending federal money.
Mr. President, if you love us, you gotta repeal your asinine health care bill.
Mr. President, if you love us, you gotta get out of the way.
What is this?
If you love me, you gotta help me pass this bill.
I guess he's doubting that people love him now, or he still is believing it, he just got to remind the people love him what he's gotta do.
Back to Carville, Mr. President, your hinge of fate must turn.
Bill Clinton fired many people in 1994 and uh took a lot of heat for it.
Reagan fired most of his campaign staff in 1980.
Republicans historically fired their own speaker, Newt Gingrich.
Bush fired Rumsfeld.
For God's sake, why are we still looking at the same political and economic advisors that got us into this mess?
It's not working.
Furthermore, it's not gonna work with the same team, the same strategy, the same excuses.
I know economic analysts are smart.
Some work 17 hours a day.
It's time to show them the exit.
Wake up.
Show us you are doing something.
And then Carville says, indict people.
There are certain people in American finance who haven't been held responsible for utterly ruining the economic fabric of our country.
Demand from the attorney general a clear status and a state of investigation concerning these extraordinary injustices imposed upon the American people.
I know Eric Holder's a close friend of yours, but if his explanations aren't good, fire him too.
Demand answers to why no one's been indicted.
Mr. President, people are livid.
Tell people that you too are angry, sickened by the irresponsible actions on Wall Street that caused so much suffering.
Don't accept excuses, demand action now.
Make a case like a Democrat.
While we're going along with the Republican austerity garbage, who's making a case against it?
It's not the Democrats.
We're allowing the overeducated, over explanatory bureaucrat by the name of congressional budget office Director Elmendorf to do all the talking.
Don't let him make your case.
Let us make your case.
Is it any wonder that we're doing better in the middle of stimulus spending period and we are doing the austerity program?
And he goes on.
There's one more paragraph.
I don't have to read it.
Carville, they're in sheer panic out there.
In the drive-by media, they're in panic over what happened in New York Night and over the Jewish vote.
And they're trying to, you know, they got one of these circle things going on where they're trying to comfort each other and tell each other they really haven't lost the Jewish vote.
This is a bunch of Orthodox Jews.
It doesn't count.
This is, I mean, this is this isn't mean anything in the general election nationwide in 2022.
That may be true, by the way.
I I don't.
I frankly, to be honest with you, folks, I'll be stunned if Obama doesn't get 70, 80% of the Jewish vote, like he always does.
Well, I would love to be stunned, snurtly, but I'm just telling you, I've I've it is bad out there, and it is getting worse out there.
So here, look at look at Carville's solution.
Criminalize the opposition, indict somebody.
Mr. Carvel, I hate to tell you, but some of Obama's best friends are on Wall Street.
It's called crony capitalism.
Some of his best friends are CEOs of the biggest American corporations.
You want to start indicting people.
The people who indict are in the regime.
You know, Carvel, I mean I read this piece.
And I'm thinking, okay, he's sitting down there with Mary Madeline in New Orleans and their kids.
And during his private time when Mary and the kids have gone to bed and James sitting there, uh maybe sipping on the maker's mark.
Probably asking himself constantly, what would Stalin do?
And asking himself, what would Stalin do over and over again?
He finally sits down, he writes this piece.
Fire people, indict people.
If you love me.
Um had that Steven Stills in the uh late 60s, early 70s, love the one you're with.
Love the one you're with.
And then Stevie Wonder, if you really love me.
Yeah, that's right.
Yeah.
Mr. President, if you really love us.
You know, we want to see you in the rear view mirror.
I mean, this is this is uh.
No, no, that was that was Sally Field.
Sally Field, you love me.
You really love me when she got her Oscar.
You love me.
You really love me.
Oh, yeah, that's stood the test of time.
Obama's not yet surprised at it.
He's just reminded, hey, look, if you love me, you know, you'll help me pass this bill.
There is no bill.
Louis Gomert, here.
Let me go to the sound bites on this.
Let me find the sound bites.
Uh, grab the start here at number 11.
Last night, Fox Business Network Lou Dobbs said to Louis Gomer, the Congressman from Texas, Louie, I see you have a lot of paper there.
Just proud to see these two pages introduced today.
Pretty impressive.
This is the 155-page president's bill.
We've been harassing the YS trying to get it, and we finally got it.
I've finished going through it about 5 a.m.
Tuesday morning, and it scares me to death.
The things this does to the American economy and American jobs is unbelievable.
He bails in so much new government.
If you like Freddie and Fanny, you will love the American Infrastructure Financing Authority.
If you like the FCC running the airwaves, you're gonna love the brand new public safety broadband corporation.
So Dobbs says, by the way, somebody has read the bill, Louis Gomert.
So Dobbs then says, well, uh the thing we have to say, this president said that there's not going to be any politics.
It's gonna be about the country.
It wasn't going to be about politics.
He is about the country, all about the country, all over the place, and somebody needed to file a jobs bill.
We kept checking.
He just was running around the country.
I filed a bill that will create.
He did.
He put two-page bill that basically eliminates the corporate income tax.
It's called the Save American Job.
American Jobs Act 2011, which is exactly the title of what Barry's waving around out there at his uh at his town hall.
Folks, are you hearing me on this?
The Democrats have not introduced this bill.
Obama's running around.
If you love me, if you love me, you'll get this bill passed.
There isn't one.
Louis Golmerts is the only one.
This is pure politics.
There's no intention.
This is nothing more than Obama actually channeling Harry Truman, running against a do-nothing Congress.
Anyway, I take a brief uh time out here.
Jobless claims are up unexpectedly again.
Unexpectedly.
And lots of other good stuff too, folks.
Sit tight.
We have just barely begun.
By the way, Jan Shikowski from Illinois remembered this on March 11th of 2004.
Shikowski's husband, the lobbyist Robert Kramer, the executive director of the Illinois Public Action Fund was indicted in federal court on 16 counts of bank fraud involving three alleged check kiting schemes in the mid-90s, leading several banks to experience shortfalls of at least 2.3 million dollars.
This is the same Jan Chikowski who told Don and Roma in WLS Chicago yesterday that of course we need your money.
Of course we're going to take your I'm paraphrasing the uh the quote, but we've got the audio.
That's uh it's all coming up.
Here it is.
You don't deserve to keep all your money.
I'll put it this way.
You don't deserve to keep all of it.
It's not a question of deserving because what government is is those things that we decide to do together.
And then she starts talking about firemen and cops and so forth and teachers, which the federal government does not do yet.
Back after this.
Hi, welcome back.
Great to have you.
Rush Limbaugh having more fun than a human being should be allowed to have telephone number 800822882, the email address lrushbow at EIB net.com.
So what we have here, here we have a guy who said that we're gonna get rid of politics as usual.
We're gonna be unified, you know, you know, all of the uh utopian stuff.
And what do we get?
Nothing but a continuation of the usual politics of fear, crisis, and panic.
So now Obama says there are 153 bridges out there on the verge of collapse.
Once again, grab Audio Soundbite uh number seven.
Listen uh to this one more time, folks.
There are 153 structurally deficient bridges that need to be repaired.
Four of them are near here, on or around the belt line.
Why would we wait to act until another bridge falls?
You know, we we have to people are cheering this.
Why why would we have to wait for another bridge to f the question is why did you fix these bridges with the first trillion dollars that you spent?
But more importantly than that, more importantly than that, if there are bridges about to fall down, shouldn't the Secretary of Transportation shut them down?
If there are 153 bridges, did he say here on the verge of collapse?
No. 153 structurally deficient bridges need to be repaired.
Where we need to be told what these 153 bridges are, where they are.
Because if he doesn't tell us, then the regime, Obama is holding drivers hostage.
He's letting us drive over 153 bridges that could apparently fail.
People could plummet to their deaths at any moment.
Name the bridges.
You remember how they uh demanded specifics from Bush and Tom Ridge on terror threats because they accused those two guys of politicizing terror threats.
Well, here, the BAMster says he knows of 153 bridges that could fall down at any moment.
And four of them are near the belt line in North Carolina.
Four of them.
Name them.
So that people can avoid them.
It is his job to shut them down, not hold their repairs hostage to passing his little tax bill.
Do you understand if this is if he's serious?
153 bridges structurally deficient, and rather than fix them, he's holding the repair hostage and endangering the lives of people who drive on these bridges just so he can get his nonexistent bill passed.
ABC News has added something up here.
In six speeches during the course of seven days, President Obama has hammered home his call for Congress to act on his four hundred and forty seven billion tax increase jobs plan, saying that some version of the phrase pass this bill more than one hundred times.
The president repeated the rally and cry eighteen times in his speech to Congress, another eighteen times at his stop in Richmond, Virginia, twelve times in the Rose Garden Address, eighteen times in Columbus, Ohio, twenty-four times in Raleigh, North Carolina, twelve times at the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute Gala in Washington, grand total 102.
But then listen to this close of ABC News.
President's attempts to rally public momentum to pass this bill are also falling flat.
Obama has repeatedly called on Americans to call, tweet, fax, even carrier pigeon a message to Congress, but inboxes on Capitol Hill have yet to overflow with messages from constituents urging them to act.
This is a state-controlled ABC undercutting the BASE.
The BAMSTER's out there urging everybody to flood Congress.
What is this message?
ITunes quit on So I'll just restart it.
Anyway, out there urging everybody to flood their congressmen's inboxes with the message of support for the and nobody's calling.
Nobody's emailing, nobody's faxing, nobody's texting.
And if they do, it's going to be in support of Louis Gomert's bill because that's the only bill that's been passed.
You know, in all of Obama's speeches about 9-11, he never mentioned Al Qaeda once.
That's a good question.
Why would he?
Why would he?
All right, applications for unemployment benefits continued to rise in the past week while inflation pushed higher.
And a key manufacturing index weakened the weekly jobs claims number closely watched as an indicator for employment trends.
Unexpectedly rose 11,000 to 428,000, well ahead of estimates of 411,000.
Unexpectedly rose.
The more Washington spends, the worse unemployment gets.
If Obama would just say that he had a plan to drive up unemployment, he'd be hailed as a genius.
Do you realize that?
If he just said, help me drive up unemployment, I got the plan right here.
My first plan did great driving up unemployment.
I want more unemployment.
He'd be hailed as a genius because boy does he know how to do that.
We've never had a president better at creating unemployment than Barack Hussein Obama.
Mm-mm.
His plan to destroy the private sector requires spending money we don't have, paying off campaign contributors and public sector unions, overregulation, massive uncertainty, constant fear mongering and crisis mongering.
We're all going to die.
It's the end of the world if this doesn't happen tomorrow.
Chicago style thuggery, as pointed out by Bill Clinton.
And proposing massive tax increases on job creators.
That's his plan.
That's his plan.
It's working beautifully.
If he would just say that he's out trying to create rising unemployment, he'd be hailed as a genius.
He could trademark it.
Do you realize Obama might get some kind of Nobel economic prize?
I set out to prove how an economy can lose jobs.
I set out to prove how to shrink a private sector economy.
I set out to prove how to destroy the biggest and most powerful private economy in the world, and I did it in three years.
If he would just do that, he'd be hailed as an economics genius.
No, I'm I'm I'm I'm of course I'm trying to make a point, but I'm dead serious about this.
Look at another quick break here.
Um we've got a lot to do on the program of your phone calls as well.
I just think about Debbie Wasserman Schultz.
There's all the stuff that we've heard the past two days.
Debbie Washerwoman Schultz.
She says that New York 9's a tough district for Democrats to win.
Well, now wait a minute.
You know, I thought about this.
She's actually got a good point.
Because New York 9 is in the United States.
A lot of Americans live in New York 9.
That is a tough place for Democrats to win.
So if you look at it that way, it all makes sense.
Debbie Wasserman Schultz may be smarter than we know.
Well, if you look at it from that standpoint, New York 9, located in America.
A lot of Americans live there.
Tough for Democrats to win in America.
She got a point.
Now, I have an idea for Louis Gomert.
I'm going to take a brief timeout so that somebody who knows Louis Gomert can go get hold of somebody in his office, turn the radio on.
I got an idea for Louis.
They have a 24-7 account.
They're always listening.
Okay, cool.
Well, good.
Still going to take the break because it's time.
But I got an idea for Louis Gomert to add some pages, maybe one more page to his American Jobs Act of 2011.
Oh look, there's my buddy Joel Cerno on Fox.
His miniseries on the Kennedys is up for 10 Emmys.
and The ones that uh uh Kennedy family Maria Shriver, who's that there's a woman at ABC that uh what is her name?
Uh Ann Sweeney.
There's a woman at ABC named Ann Sweeney who succeeded in getting that show uh canceled on the History Channel.
Working with Maria Schriver.
But anyway, uh Joel Cerno created 24 up for 10 Emmys for the Kennedys, which was really it was well done.
Okay, Louis Gomert's office.
Now it's gonna take courage.
But Louie, given what you've already done out there, you've already stolen Barry's job title.
You've stolen the bill title.
You've put two pages out there, cutting the corporate tax rate 35%.
What is Obama proposed?
Obama has proposed essentially a piddling 450 billion dollars stimulus for package.
I call it stimulus for because we've had the uh automatic stabilizers that immediately run the deficit way up to at least 3% of GDP in a recession.
We had the George W. Bush stimulus in early 2008.
This was where everybody got 150 bucks or 200 bucks or something.
We had Obama's porculus.
And now this, the 450 billion dollar tax increase bill that he's calling a jobs bill that he's just proposed.
What the GOP could do here is meet and raise Obama's $450 billion package by announcing a $2.4 trillion alternative.
Yes.
More than five times as powerful.
The package I'm talking about should include a one-year moratorium on all taxes, not just corporate, all taxes, all fees, all tariffs paid to the U.S. Treasury.
This would immediately reduce government revenues by $2.4 trillion.
That happens to be the amount of money collected via taxes and fees.
And of course, we're spending one and a half trillion more than that, which is where we get the deficit.
So just eliminate $2.4 trillion.
Moratorium.
All taxes, fees, and tariffs paid to the U.S. Treasury.
What would happen is you would immediately reduce government revenues by $2.4 trillion, and you would do what?
At the same time, you would stimulate the private sector with $2.4 trillion, except it would be $2.4 trillion of their dollars.
Our dollars.
It would be a real stimulus.
You just have a full-fledged one-year moratorium on all revenue paid by anybody to the U.S. Treasury.
It has the added benefit of being 100% paid for.
The bill will require this supercommittee to simply find another $2.4 trillion in deficit reduction measures when they report in November.
Now others have had ideas like this, but I just wanted to simplify it.
If you want to stimulate the economy, don't let Obama take any money out of it.
Keep $2.4 trillion that's going to come out of it in it.
Do you know what would happen to this economy if for just a year people knew they weren't going to be paying anything?
Every dollar they earned, they kept.
Every business, every individual.
But Rush, but Rush, what about the firemen in the club?
The federal government doesn't pay firemen and policemen.
But what about the roads and bridges?
Obama's not doing anything about that anyway.
There are 153 bridges he says that are structurally failing, but he won't tell us which ones they are, so people continually are risking their lives driving over these bridges.
Obama is holding the repair of these bridges hostage until he gets his tax increases.
He cares more about his tax increases than you apparently living through a bridge collapse.
Won't even identify which ones they are.
He says he wants to stimulate the private sector.
He says he wants job growth.
He says he wants an end to the housing problem and all that.
Well, the federal government is going to spend two point it's going to spend and borrow $2.4 trillion that it doesn't have anyway.
Instead of taking it out of our hands, leave it with us.
This is an expansion on my original idea proposed in the Wall Street Journal shortly After Obama was immaculated as Pharaoh.
Remember when he was going to do his original stimulus?
I said, look, let's be fair.
Let's be bipartisan.
You got 53% of the vote, I got 47.
You give me 470 billion, let me do with it what I want.
You take your 53, 530 billion, you do your tax increases.
And after a while, we'll compare and match up and see which one did more to stimulate the economy.
So I'm just, I'm going all in here.
Texas hold them.
2.4 trillion.
And at the added benefit of quadrupling Obama's package.
How do we think we can fix 153 bridges, Obama says at risk, when after 10 years we still haven't rebuilt the World Trade Center?
Be right back, my friends.
