Time Text
Hi, welcome back.
Yep, promise.
Get to your phone calls in this hour.
I make that commitment to you, Rush Limbaugh, the EIB network.
The reason radio was invented by God.
Me, a man, a legend, a way of life.
A thrill and a delight I know for you to be here is for me too.
Right now, John Boehner, the speaker of the House, is addressing the economic club of Washington.
CNN and MSNBC are carrying it live.
Fox is not.
Our microphones are there.
We are rolling tape, and uh we'll have highlights of what uh of what Boehner said.
Cookie, I want you to keep a sharp eye out for if if I I hope it doesn't happen.
I hope, in fact, grab audio somebody number one, Mike.
I hope that Bader doesn't say anything like we are eager to work with the president.
What are the odds that he will?
I know, so it's 5050.
You go either way.
Hope he doesn't say that.
I just in light of that, I want to take you back to me on this program.
November 4th, 2009.
November 4th, 2009.
We had elections that year.
We had uh elections in New Jersey.
We had elections in Virginia.
Here is how I analyze them.
Folks, I've been um looking at all the exit poll data.
I've been looking at all of the election analysis that I can find.
I've had my staff working diligently trying to find something I can't find it.
I've tried to find out how many votes Obama created or saved in New Jersey or Virginia.
I mean, we know everything else about the vote in Virginia and New Jersey, but I can't find out how many votes were created or saved there.
500,000 is what I'm guessing.
Maybe been more.
See, even though Obama's candidates lost, let me tell you something, folks.
Losing New Jersey is like Stalin being defeated in Moscow.
It's like Castro being defeated in Cuba.
It's like Reagan winning 100% of the vote in the upper west side of Manhattan.
It's like Hu Xin Tao being thrown out by the street sweepers of Beijing.
It's like Kim Jong il, a little potbellied guy over there in North Korea being eaten by dogs.
I mean, Virginia is big too, but New Jersey.
The bluest of blue states, and they're trying to say this isn't about Obama.
Oh no, Russia's not about Obama.
Look at the exit polls.
It's about the economy.
Yeah, right.
Who's killing it?
Obama is killing it.
I'll tell you what, folks, the results last night tell us one certain thing, and that is that the Democrat Party is in trouble.
It is led by a radical.
It is stuck with extreme leaders in Congress who continue to defy the public and advance an extreme agenda that will undo that party.
I think the worst has yet to come for the Democrats.
November 2009.
I know these people.
I know what I'm talking about, and I know what elections mean.
Now that's we're coming up on two years ago.
And here we are just uh a couple of days after.
Shocking results in uh in in New York 9.
It's been about Obama since about the middle of 2008.
Uh not 2009.
It's been a b it didn't take long, folks.
I'm telling you, the people this country Tea Party didn't take long for the Tea Party to spring up.
The bloom was off the Obama rose long before anybody was willing to admit that it was.
And the Republicans in Washington kept saying things.
We want to work with the president.
We hope the president succeeds.
We uh we very much all that.
Hoy polloi political stuff that was not grounded in reality.
Jan Schikowski, Illinois Congressman, WLS a big 89 in Chicago yesterday with Don and Roma, Don Wade and Roma.
She said that Americans don't deserve to keep all their money because we need taxes to support our society.
Um Wade says, so Jan Shikowski, out of every dollar that I earn, how much do you think I deserve to keep?
I'll put it this way.
You don't deserve to keep all of it.
And it's not a question of deserving because what government is is those things that we decide to do together.
All right.
What government is is those things we decide to do together.
Ms. Shikowski, we haven't been deciding to do anything together the last two and a half years.
You and your party have been governing against the will of the American people.
The American people don't want 9.1% unemployment or actually 11.3% or actually 18% unemployment.
The black community doesn't want 50% teen unemployment.
The black community doesn't want 26% unemployment.
The American people don't want to lose their homes.
They don't want the values of their homes cut in half.
The American people do not want.
And election after election after election after election since the presidential race has shown us, Ms. Shikowski, that we do not want you what uh want what you're getting us.
We're not working together.
What government is is those things we decide to do together.
Ms. Chikowski.
We're not making decisions collectively on things like $500 million to a solar panel company.
And that's just one out of four solar power company.
American people.
That's not what they thought the stimulus was going to be for.
And now there's a report out today that the meager number of green jobs that have been created based on the number spent on them is around two hundred and fifty thousand dollars a job.
That's how much it's cost us, Miss Shikowski, to create the meager number of green jobs.
The only thing that liberals ever point to funding uh or cutting is the stuff that we all do agree on.
Or important use of tax dollars.
But this this little sound bite of hers is amazing and quite telling.
We do, as a nation, in our states and our cities, decide how taxes should be used for the good of all.
It's at the state and city level that we decide on roads and police and schools.
It's not the federal government that does the federal government.
The federal government ought not be involved and is not involved in all of that.
The federal government ought to be involved in all of that.
Ms. Jackowski, it's all this other spending that's coming to light in the Obama regime that we are not collectively in agreement on.
But nevertheless, you don't deserve to keep what you earn.
She said that one reason the 2009 stimulus bill did not succeed was because it wasn't big enough.
She also admitted there are questions about the regime's connection to the now bankrupt Cylindra's solar panel.
Well, somebody reporter.
I can't do it all, folks.
Somebody got an attack watch and report Shikowski.
The nation's second largest Indian tribe said Tuesday that it would not be dictated to by the regime over its move to banish 2800 blacks from its citizenship roles.
A Cherokee nation's not going to be number governed but a BIA, said Joe Crittenden, the tribe's acting principal chief in a statement responding to the Euro's U.S. Bureau of Indian Affairs.
Crittenden, who leads the tribe until a new chief is elected, went on to complain about unnamed congressmen meddling in the tribe's self-governance.
The reaction follows a letter that Tribe received on Monday from the uh Bureau of Indian Affairs, the assistant secretary Larry Echo Hawk, who warned that the results of the September 24th Cherokee election for principal chief will not be recognized by the U.S. government if the ousted members, some known as the Cherokee freedmen, are not allowed to vote.
Now this dispute stems from the fact that some wealthy Cherokee owned black slaves who worked on their plantations in the South.
Well, who the heck knew that?
Did you know?
I didn't know That wealthy Cherokee Indians owned black slaves who worked on their plantations in the South.
Snerdley claims he knows that.
By the 1830s, most of the Cherokee tribe were forced to relocate to Oklahoma, present-day Oklahoma, and many took their slaves with them.
The so-called freedmen are descendants of those slaves.
So we we have a whole little country here operating inside America with their own rules.
They need the largesse of the federal government, but they don't want to live with the federal laws.
I kind of like this.
Because, you know, the Cherokee here are telling the feds to pound sand.
Unlike the penguin which ate sand.
They're telling the federal government to pound sand.
Now the Cherokee basically say we are free to kick the blacks out of the tribe.
And the Bureau of Indian Affairs is saying no, you can't.
Now, what do you think this is all about?
What is this iTunes quit unexpectedly again?
Uh, hang on here a second.
I ignore it for now.
What in the world is is really this all about?
Why do we have a controversial case of the Cherokee telling the blacks we don't watch anymore?
Get out of here.
Tell me, Snerdley, what is this about?
Word begins with a B. Benefits.
It has to be.
The African Americans lost their citizenship last month when a Cherokee Supreme Court, they've got their own Supreme Court.
Cherokee Supreme Court voted to support the right of tribal members to change the tribe's constitution on citizenship matters.
The change meant that Cherokee freedmen, the blacks who could not prove that they have a Cherokee blood relation were no longer Cherokee citizens, making them ineligible to vote in tribal elections or wait for it.
Receive benefits.
It's always all about the benefits.
I don't care what the minority is.
Thank you.
Besides pressure from the Bureau of Indian Affairs to accept the 1866 treaty as the law of the land, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development is withholding a $33 million disbursement to the tribe over the freedmen controversy.
So the feds are saying, you know, you want your 33 uh 33 million dollars from us, you're not going to get it if you kick the blacks out of your tribe.
It well theoretically, if they can prove that they have blood relation to ancient Cherokee tribes members, yeah, I guess they could open a casino.
But that, but but I don't think there are enough of them.
I think the tribe would have to approve that, I don't think.
You know.
Let me tell you, let me tell you something.
What I would love to see.
Wouldn't you love to see?
Oh, it's one of these dreams that'll never have.
I would love to see the uh Reverend Zach and Al Sharpton marching on the Cherokee Nation this weekend.
But I promise we go to the phones at the top of the hour, and here we go.
Starting in Modesto, California, this is Len.
Great to have you on the program.
Hello, sir.
Major uh uh dinner to you at Rush.
Thank you very much, sir.
Uh, listen to you from the beginning.
Listen, what I wanted to point out is on Obama's speech, when he talks about construction jobs, I'm in the construction business out here in California.
And the jobs that are all lost were sheetrockers, plumbers, all in the homing building business, carpet layers, rookers, has nothing to do with uh this uh bridge building roads.
Those are union jobs.
Exactly.
When I see Trump just sitting out there with a big smile, those are all union jobs, heavy equipment operators, bridge builders has nothing to do with the millions of jobs lost from coast to coast on uh uh exactly right.
Look at this bill has nothing to do with jobs anyway.
Folks, I'm trying to speak faster, keep up with my brain today, and it's not working.
Look.
This bill that he's waving around has no chance of being passed, and he knows it by design.
It has every tax increase that he's ever dreamed about, every tax increase that the Democrat Congress voted down the first chance they had when he had supermajorities in both the House and the Senate.
He wrote this.
The bill has not even been introduced in the House of the Senate.
It's not intended to even be voted on.
All of this pass it now stuff is nothing more than political theatrics.
It is the Greek columns of this year.
Obama is nothing but symbolism.
That bill that he's waving around is is today's Greek columns.
There's no way there are 20 some odd Democrats up for re-election in 2012.
They see what has happened since Obama won election.
The Democrats have been eating sand ever since at the polls.
New York 9 being the most recent example, a couple of um exceptions to it when the Republicans ran rhinos or liberal Republicans.
But other than that, the the Democrats are quaking in their boots, and there is no way that Democrats up for re-election are going to vote for this.
Obama doesn't want to vote on it.
Obama wants no action on it.
He wants to be able to say that the Republicans want him to fail.
He wants to be able to say that the Republicans have no interest in letting him win.
And that they will they'll let the country fail first in order to prevent him winning it.
That he's been saying that.
Uh he's tried to be Reagan, he's tried to be uh uh Lincoln, now he's out there trying to try to be FDR, now he's trying to be Truman.
Here, grab audio sign by number thirteen.
This is last night uh on NSNBC's Politics Nation.
This is the um this is the show hosted by the Reverend Sharpton, who I really hope will uh march on the Cherokee Nation this weekend once he learns what's going on there.
He had Barney Frank on as his guest.
Uh Sharpton said, uh, how are we going to get a jobs bill passed in this Congress?
They don't want Obama to succeed.
And because they don't want Obama to succeed, uh they really not that it shouldn't help the economy succeed.
So we do have this problem.
The average Republican in Congress is catering to a fairly small number of people, the people who vote in the primaries, the Tea Party people, the very conservative Republicans, they dominate Republican primaries.
So uh the Republicans now want Obama to fail.
Uh I'll say New York 9 shows the Democrats don't want him to succeed either.
So uh Obama is not about fixing the problem.
He's about attempting to fix the blame.
So when you say that all these jobs he wants to create or union jobs, to the extent that he wants to create jobs, yeah, he wants to create jobs for his union supporter people, but that's not even what this is about.
Not one job be created in this bill.
This is nothing but a laundry list of tax increases and the creation of a couple new um federal bureaucracies.
Who's next?
Steven Bozeman, Montana.
I'm glad you called, sir.
Welcome to the EIB network.
Hey, Russ.
Um, I was just gonna say uh shouldn't have the question that Obama asked is why should we let the economy collapse before we fix it?
Yeah, like the bridges.
Why do the bridges have to collapse before we fix them?
Exactly.
Okay, well, why is the economy have to collapse before we fix that?
Exactly right.
If anybody's being held hostage here, it's us.
And look, I'm not uh I know it sounds funny, but I I'm I'm not trying to be fun.
I'm I'm dead serious.
Folks, yesterday in North Carolina, the president of the United States said that there are 153 structurally deficient bridges in this country.
And then there are four of them nearby where he was speaking.
North Carolina.
Yet he allows people to continue to drive over those bridges.
He doesn't tell his Secretary of Transportation to shut them down.
He doesn't identify them.
He waves that piece of paper around and says, only if this is passed will those bridges get fixed.
He says structurally deficient need to be repaired.
wants us to believe it's going to happen immediately if we pass that little piece of paper he's waving around, and yet it's 10 years after 9-11 and we still haven't rebuilt the World Trade Center.
I don't know.
Did Obama arrive over any of those bridges?
I mean, part of his uh route, he had to be driven in the beast is is uh Cadillac limo.
He takes Air Force One to the closest airport and drives to where he's going.
Did he happen to cross one of those bridges?
He had to go over one of those bridges that structurally deficient.
I I doubt it if he knows their structurally not going to take a motorcade of that weight over a structurally deficient bridge.
If he did, we need to know about it.
If the Secret Service let Obama drive over one of those deficient bridges, then it must be safe for the rest of us.
Must not be in that bad of shape.
Tim Geitner says the economy is in the early stage of crisis.
No kidding.
No, the beast, Obama's uh Obama's limousine.
Was a legitimate question.
Folks, uh you had 153 bridges, structurally deficient, could fall down at any moment.
Four of them in North Carolina near where Obama was.
Did the beast?
The beast weighs eight tons without Michelle in it.
Eight tons, sixteen thousand pounds.
Did they drive that thing and the rest of the motor cane over one of those four bridges.
Okay, do I know these people or do I know these people?
Here is Bayner.
Economic Club of Washington.
Moments ago.
The responsibility for fixing this toxic environment for a job creation is a bipartisan one.
The situation was created uh by Washington's inability to let our economy work.
It was created by government intrusion, a micromanagement.
And I think we've got a responsibility to work together in the coming months to remove these barriers and to liberate our economy.
This is what the American people are demanding of us.
So there you have the official position of the Republican leadership in the House of Representatives.
A responsibility to work together.
He means with the Democrats in the coming months to remove these barriers to liberate our economy.
This is what the American people are demanding of us.
Hope he means the American people are demanding that we remove these barriers that get in the way and we liberate our economy.
I hope he doesn't mean that the American people are demanding we work together.
But, at any rate, point made.
Even after New York 9.
Thank you.
Gotta work together.
Here's Denny in Dayton, Ohio.
Denny High, great to have you on the EIB network.
Welcome.
I appreciate that.
Hey, uh caught my ear when Obama used the term structurally deficient, because that is a term in uh transportation parlance.
The thing is it has nothing to do with a bridge actually being ready to fall down necessarily.
In most cases, it has to do with a bridge.
It might be a two-lane bridge, but due to increased traffic And lack of uh breakdown lanes and stuff.
It needs to be a four-lane bridge or a four-lane bridge, needs to be an eight-lane bridge or so on.
Is that right?
That's what structurally deficient means.
Structurally deficient means it's not big enough to handle a load.
It it means it it could be if it's a structural weakness, but it just simply means it no longer meets the design need.
So one of the bridges he would be talking about in North Carolina, I'm very familiar with, is the Herbert Bonner Bridge, the Hatteras Island.
They've been trying here's why they don't get replaced.
The funding has been fully in place before he was president, possibly before he was even in the Senate.
The bridge has been blocked for almost 20 years by environmentalists.
Yeah.
That's that's why the bridges don't get built.
And uh it uh it's ranked, I think a three out of one hundred.
And uh the timeline is unbelievable.
The state of North Carolina has been trying, and uh the environmentalists, if you can believe this, it's a three and a half mile long bridge, and the environmentalists would like to replace it with a seventeen and a half mile-long bridge to go around their kilt beds.
It's a three and a half mile long bridge, and the WACOs want to replace it with a seventeen and a half mile bridge.
Correct.
I could I could give you a website if you want to melt them down, but uh it has all the information.
If anybody wants to look it up.
We'll find it.
You'll try it.
Okay, replace the bridge now.com.
It's pretty simple.
Replace the bridge now.
Bridge now.com.
Well, this is uh quite interesting.
Still, still it's all smoke and mirrors.
Because when you boil it all down, you can tell whether there's the environmentalist wackos or local officials, local politicians, as in the case of New Orleans.
As in the case of New Orleans and the Levees.
They didn't use the money to shore up the levies to fix the used the money for social justice.
Or other such nebulous uh nebulous terms.
Is uh what they mean.
All right, the energy department, not back is the hill.com energy department not backing down in its efforts to support clean energy companies, despite Republicans pummeling the regime for approving a $535 million loan guarantee.
It's a cylinder.
The Department of Energy could approve as many as fifteen renewable energy loan guarantees by the end of the month.
That's the end of the fiscal year when a program launched under the stimulus law ends.
That's why they're doing this.
This the the a program launched under the stimulus law ends at the end of this month, and that means after this month is over, there's no longer authority to spend all this money on all these green energy companies.
So that's why they're hustling.
To spend the money get it.
So do you realize there is still unspent that this is a point by gosh that needs to be made.
I've pardon me for forgetting this.
There is still unspent stimulus money, by the way, that was supposed to be spent on creating jobs for everybody.
That that that is what is now being spent on these green energy companies.
There is unspent stimulus money while he's out there asking for more.
The department could reprove as many as fifteen renewable energy loan guarantees.
The 2009 porculus bill authorized an energy department program to offer loan guarantees to renewable energy, electric transmission, and biofuels projects.
The program expires September 30th.
To date, Department of Energy has finalized 17 loan guarantees for a range of solar, wind, and geothermal projects.
The department has issued 15 conditional commitments, must be finalized by the end of September.
The department, for example, finalized an $852 million loan guarantee for a next era energy solar project in California last month.
In the midst of scandal at Cylindra.
Now, and remember about Sylndra, and you have to credit ABC News.
ABC News Doug Deep found some emails, internal White House emails.
As far back as 2009, it was known that Cylindra would fail by September of this year.
It was predicted.
And uh what government bureaucracy said don't.
This this company's a crapshoot.
I don't I don't think we should uh slap any money into it.
They did it anyway.
And of course, it was uh it was Vice President Bite Me was to preside over this.
This is an AP exclusive, and this is um another example here, folks, and it's more evidence why Obamacare needs to be totally and completely repealed.
It's like Michelle Bachmann said, it's pulled out by the roots.
AP exclusive by Ricardo Alonso Zalvedar.
Even as leading Democrats offered assurances to the contrary.
In other words, they were telling a bunch of lies.
Government experts repeatedly warned that a new long-term care insurance plan could go belly up, saddling taxpayers with another unfunded benefit program, according to emails disclosed by congressional investigators.
Part of Obama's health care law.
Programs in limbo's congressional debt panel searches for budget savings behind the scenes.
Administration officials scramble to find a viable financing formula.
A longstanding priority of Senator Kennedy, the community living assistance services and supports program, or class, was spliced into the health care law despite nagging budget worries.
Administration emails and documents revealed that alarms were sounded earlier and more widely than previously thought.
Congressional Republicans seeking repeal of the program provided the materials to the AP.
And amazingly, the AP reported it.
Seems like a recipe for disaster to me, said William Martin, senior aging policy official in the regime, wrote in an October 2009 email.
He said his concern that large numbers of healthy people would not willingly sign up for class creates a predicament in which soaring premiums for a smaller group of frail beneficiaries would destabilize the program.
The central design flaw, and by the way, folks, the central design flaw of Obamacare is all liberal thinking.
But that's not what this says.
They say that the central design flaw has dogged class from the drawing board, may turn out to be insurmountable without making the program mandatory for most workers.
Now, it in other words, why do we know this?
We know about this now because some emails popped up, and the GOP leaked them to the AP, who shockingly reported it, and these emails warned that a long-term care insurance program called CLASS is unsustainable and unworkable.
And it sounds just like these emails that have surfaced about Cylindra.
So once again, what you really have here is just arrogance.
They're smarter, they know better than anybody, even their own so-called experts who are warning them that this program cannot sustain itself.
Or, on the other hand, they see a sure loser and they go for it because it speeds up reaching their goal of America ruination.
Either way, we are screwed.
Long-term insurance care plan alarms ignored.
Basically, this is this is about 1.6 million people losing their coverage and being forced to sign up with a government.
Is what basically is what is what this uh is uh is about.
And then there's a companion story to this Los Angeles Times.
Enroll America, new nonprofit group plans to publicize the expanded availability of health coverage under the new federal health care law to help states make enrollment easier.
Giving a boost to the new health care law, a coalition of hospitals, insurers, drug makers, and consumer advocates is joining the multi-million dollar campaign to get Americans signed up for health insurance starting in 2014.
The new nonprofit group called Enroll America plans a state-by-state effort to publicize the expanded availability of health coverage and to help state leaders put in place procedures to simplify enrollment.
So you have an activist group trying to enroll people in government-run health care.
While another area of government-run health care is going belly up and leaving people uninsured.
So what do we have here?
Just like with food stamps and public housing and welfare, the usual suspects are doing everything they can to get more people hooked on government.
And there's nothing new about this group.
Families USA is a Democrat front group that's been around since 1981, and that that's the umbrella here for enroll America.
Families USA was the public relations team for Hillary care.
And their intention is to get as many people as possible dependent on government-provided health insurance soon as they can in order to make it impossible to repeal.
That's what this is all about.
Enroll America trying to get as many people signed up now.
They don't want to wait for 2014, and they really don't care about Obama.
They just want as many people dependent on government for health care as soon as they can, because they know that there will be a serious effort to repeal this.
And the more people who are enrolled or getting insurance via the government, the harder they know it's going to be to repeal it.
The what?
Well, I don't know if AARP is in bed with them or not.
Uh but uh families USA partnering with the Obama administration to rehabilitate the image of Obamacare with a nationwide PR campaign, just like they did with Hillary Care.
So you see Obama on stage waving his bill around, understand that his allies are doing things that you don't see to force people into government-run health care or to trick them into enrolling into government-run health care because Obama knows nobody wants this.
The Democrats know nobody wants this.
They're approaching vulnerable people.
They have nowhere else to go, enrolling them, lying to them about how cheap the coverage is going to be and how great the care is going to be.
All for the purposes of making it tough to repeal this.
We'll be back.
Don't go away.
Don't go away.
So I guess, you know, we've maybe Obama really does want this bill passed in a way.
This this mad dash to spend all of this uh uh green energy stimulus money via the DOE.
They're running out of it.
End of September fiscal year ends.
A lot of the spending authority and the stimulus runs out.
Maybe it is that Obama just doesn't want a gap in stimulus spending.
And that's why we got to pass the bill now.
But no, he knows it's not going to be passed.
Or wait, or wait.
Maybe it will be passed.
Maybe I have been all wrong.
Folks, maybe this bill does stand a chance of being passed.
Listen to the speaker of the House here, David Rubenstein, a question for Boehner after his speech.
The president proposed a jobs bill in his speech to the Congress recently.
Is that jobs bill going to be considered independent of the special committee?
Does that jobs bill have any chance of passing?
I think there are some components of it where I think there might be some common ground between us.
The Congressional Budget Office is doing their job of looking at the president's proposal.
And I would expect that uh the committees in Congress would have hearings on that.
I think it's too early to determine whether some of it ends up uh being the work of the select committee or whether we would do it separately.
Well, uh Speaker of the House has just said that there might be some common ground between himself and the Republican leadership and the president on the president's new spending proposal.
The Congressional Budget Office doing their job of looking at it now.
And I would expect that committees in Congress would have hearings on that.
Why?
There have been hearings, there weren't any health care hearings.
Well, there might be hearings as the Republicans run the show now.
Maybe what Boehner's gonna do is pass or try to pass parts of this.
Payroll tax extension in exchange for unemployment extension.
Cantor has said he might be open to that.
Obama has said he would accept passing parts of it because he just wants Republican fingerprints on this.
I'm telling you, this started out in such a great mood today.
And now this.
Ladies and gentlemen, I'm gonna try to hold on to my good mood here.
I'm going to try to concoct a scenario in which John Boehner is simply playing chess here with uh with Obama.
Saying he wants to work with him on this.
And the reason is that the New York Times look at Obama's script is that the Republicans are not gonna help him.
That the Republicans don't want him to fail.
Yet the New York Times is running story after story about how the Democrats don't like Obama's bill.
That the New York Times is not writing Obama's script.
They are countering it.
So let me think about this.
Export Selection
