Time Text
Rocky Road is seen ahead for Obama.
This is in the political today.
Jim Vandehy and Charles Matisian.
The basic thrust of this is only 38%.
38% think Obama deserves a second term.
Healthcare law loses in a poll by 13%.
And the number of people who want it repealed continues to skyrocket.
So I say, my friends, the choice in the upcoming elections boils down to this.
It's either Obama and the Democrats or America.
You can't have both.
Rush Limbaugh, the Excellence in Broadcasting Network.
Great to have you with us.
Telephone numbers 800-282-2882, the email address El Rushmo at EIBnet.com.
All right, so the Democrats are talking about coming back after the election, a lame duck session, and they're going to go ahead and extend the Bush tax cuts for the middle class and for the lower class.
And they're going to call them Obama tax cuts.
There aren't any tax cuts coming.
Nobody's taxes are going to be cut.
In fact, don't forget this in December, Obama's deficit reduction blue ribbon panel featuring Alan Simpson, babe, and Irks and Balls are going to release their findings.
And you know that they're going to have all kinds of tax increases in there.
And whatever spending freezes will be ignored.
The tax increases will be part of the deal.
VAT tax, who knows what's coming.
Nobody's talking about tax cuts.
If you hear Obama talking about tax cuts to the Democrats, there aren't going to be any tax cuts.
Now, there aren't going to be the extension of the Bush tax cuts for the so-called wealthy, the people who earn $250,000 or more.
Their taxes are going to go up.
The tax rates are going to change.
They're going to go from $35,000 to $39.6.
That might not sound like a lot, but a lot of state income tax rates are going up as well.
Let me ask you a question.
A question that every worker, every employee, every associate in the private sector needs to ask yourself.
How does the government confiscating more money from your employer help you?
You work at the ABC widget company.
Worse, you could work at ABC News, where Christiane Amanpour has taken the ratings for this week to a seven-year low in the 25 to 54 demographic.
In just how many short weeks she took over in the middle of September, sorry, middle of August after she got her French South of France vacation out of the way.
Traditional Christian Amonpour, Jamie Rubin vacation.
She got that out of the way, came back.
The ratings for this week on ABC are lower than they've been in seven years.
Now, the guy who hired her is gone, David Weston.
Why did she get hired in the first place?
Where has she ever done, hosted a show like this to demonstrate any problem?
She hasn't.
She got hired because it's an internal network.
Big name, CNN.
These people are so, I mean, the people in the so-called mainstream media, the like partisan political operatives, they are so out of touch.
Okay, so Christiana Manpour was a big deal at CNN.
That's not a big deal.
They just got rid of John Klein over there.
In his own words, I got shot.
He got fired.
After six years, it taken them down to depths that they have not seen, even since they were founded.
But she was a big deal there.
And, you know, within the tight-knit circle that is broadcast news, it's big to them, but it's never translated money.
It's never translated to radio.
So why put her in there in the first place?
Makes no sense.
It's just another illustration.
They have no clue about the people of this country and what they as consumers are interested in or want.
In fact, when they do find out, they impugn it.
I like Fox.
Well, that's not news.
So let's say you're working at ABC or the ABC widget company.
You don't make $250,000 a year.
You may be on the verge of being let go yourself, the proverbial one paycheck away.
How does the government confiscating more of your employer's revenue help you?
How does it happen?
Barack Imam Hoover Obama and his accomplices in the Democrat Party have this bizarre impression that millions of America's small businesses can absorb a tax hit, a tax increase, just like the country can absorb another 9-11 terrorist attack.
No big deal.
Life goes on.
Obama said it.
We can absorb it.
Yeah, I might be able to physically be able to absorb a head-on coalition, but that's not a gamble I want to take, especially if I just recovered from one a few months ago.
Higher taxes, terrorist attacks are to be avoided at all costs.
Last time I checked, especially now.
People are going to have to start asking themselves, and you wonder, I go back to Victor Davis Hansen's piece last week in National Review, the peasant culture, peasant society, where we now seem obsessed with sameness and equality.
Happiness is reached when other people are punished.
But people are going to have to start asking themselves, what good does it do you if the person who employs you is money taken away from the business by the government?
How's that going to help you?
How's it going to help you get a raise?
How is money being taken away from your company going to help you?
The money being taken away is not being invested in the growth of the company.
It's shrinking the company.
You start raising taxes on people over $250,000 a year.
You are raising taxes on a slew of small businesses.
Some of you should also ask yourself, I know you people understand it, but they ought to ask themselves if they've ever worked for an employer who himself made less than $200,000 a year in his business.
What is the upside?
What is the upside to having the government confiscate money from the place you work?
It's no different than if it was held up and robbed.
They still don't have the money.
They don't have the money.
They can't invest.
They can't hire anybody else.
And they certainly can't pay anybody anymore.
Then the issue is jobs.
And that's what everybody is focusing on.
The issue is jobs.
How does the government confiscating more revenue from your employer help you?
How does the government taking money out of your company, your employer's pocket, your business, how does that help that company hire anybody else or give anybody that works there a raise?
How does it happen?
Where is the goodness in this?
Where is the decency?
Where's the stimulus?
Where is the stimulus?
Oh, it's so important that $700 billion, and that's a made-up number because it's a static number.
It's so important that $700 billion be given to the government to help with the deficit.
Yes, paying for the deficit ought to fall on the backs of the people who hire others in this country.
And it isn't going to make the deficit go down.
$700 billion is throwing a penny in Lake Michigan and hoping it ripples all the way up to Canada.
It isn't going to happen.
It's all, but it's, what does it all play off?
It plays off of class envy.
Clay, it plays off of resentment.
It's, you know, I say, you know, I might be able to physically absorb a head-on collision, but I wouldn't want to take the gamble.
It's going to be interesting to see how Democrats feel after they absorb a head-on collision with voters in about 40 days.
Because I'm hoping in that head-on collision, the Democrats are total and that they don't walk away from it.
I mean, in a political sense, of course.
Obama's going to sign a $42 billion bill to aid small business today.
The bill seeks to create thousands of jobs.
It will offer about $12 billion in tax breaks.
Last week, the House of Representatives approved the Small Business Jobs Act by the vote of 237 to 187.
The measure also expected to create 500,000 jobs, according to a summary of the bill from the Senate.
The bill includes a measure to provide small banks with cheap capital.
The only problem is most banks, small business do not want this.
And they told Obama they didn't want this, and they told the Democrats they didn't want this before they passed it.
Interviews with seven community bankers, as well as small business owners, show a reluctance to participate.
Republican George Lemieux of Florida, Republican senator, said, people in my constituency can't get credit, and this will get money out to small businesses who are the engine of job creation for this country.
But bank executives say their customers don't want the loans, even at low interest rates, because the sluggish economy's chilled expansion plans.
Some say the federal money isn't worth it because they fear it'll come with too much regulatory oversight.
You know, the problem is not access to capital.
You know, we've had all these stories.
I mean, you've seen them.
All of these companies sitting on this ton pile of cash, not investing it, not spending it.
It's not that they don't have access to Canada.
Small businesses are not sitting on stacks and stacks of money, but a lot of corporate money is just piling up.
They don't want to invest it because they don't know what they're going to be facing.
Access to capital is not the problem.
What everybody wants is for the job picture to increase.
That's what spurs economic growth, is people working.
And this isn't going to create 500,000 jobs.
This is just more Obama's stimulus.
And we know where that's gotten us.
And it's all, by the way, done on purpose here to continue, to keep a monkey wrench in the works.
Tony and Dunedin, Florida, you're up next as we go back to the phones of the EIB network.
Hello, sir.
Roshma Mayor, what's up?
Let me just say, let me just ask you this.
This will be preface it, but before I say what I got to say, is that you and Levin are the closest things to Winston Churchill, closest guys to Winston Churchill and the Barack Obama that we've got.
And my question to you is, how in God's name can you root for the Pittsburgh Steelers when the Rooney not only campaigned for them in Pennsylvania, but gave them the game ball after they beat the Ravens in the AFC Championship game.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
I know.
Excuse me, I'm 63 years old.
I'm a die-hawk Jets fan.
I watched the 1969 Super Bowl with Joe Willie Namas when the Jets beat the Colts in 1969 and were 18-point underdogs.
If the ownership of the Jets came out and endorsed Obama, I would hope they would choke to death.
I hope you choke.
You're endorsing that miserable little punk.
I hope that hell you choke.
That's where I'm at.
We have to resist right from the bottom of our souls.
We have to resist this miserable regime, man.
Look, if I were to abandon my support or fandom of the Pittsburgh Steelers, it wouldn't change the fortunes of America, nor of Obama.
I became a fan of the Steelers in the 70s.
I lived there when their dynasty was forming.
That's it.
I mean, up.
Well, I don't.
This. This is.
It is. This.
This flirtation with Obama.
This is, you know, it's unusual.
I know it's football.
Look, every time I open my mouth about football, it's amazing.
I get into more trouble talking about football.
They make up things I never said talking about football.
But there is a reason for the endorsement of Obama.
And I'm just, if you.
That doesn't matter.
I'm just going to tell you, whatever the owner of the Stevers does politically does not affect policy in the country.
It's not going to affect my fandom of the team or what have you.
And it shouldn't affect yours or the Jets.
Other things should, but not who owns them.
Carol in Pittsburgh, speaking of the devil.
Nice to have you on the EIB network.
Hello.
Hello, Mr. Limbaugh.
It is a pleasure to speak to you.
Thank you very much.
Congratulations on your wedding.
Thank you.
Lately, I've been hearing a lot of commentary about the fact that conservative women like Sarah Palin and Michelle Bachman and Ms. O'Donnell are particularly attacked and they're viciously attacked by the left.
And the ruling class doesn't tend to like us very much, us conservative women.
And I think the answer is easy.
I think that they attack conservative women because they think that women are naturally there.
They think the libs think that we belong to them.
And they're shocked when they find out that we're just not part of their team.
Let me tell you something.
You're close.
Liberalism is a lie.
Everything about it is a lie.
Therefore, the fact that all women are pro-abortion and all women support Democrats is a lie.
But it is something that they've put out there.
It is a cliché that women vote Democrat.
So here you have Palin, Michelle Bachman, Blackburn.
You've got Christine O'Donnell.
It's fear is what it is, Carol.
The left is, they tell us every day who they fear.
They tell us every day who they're afraid of.
Now they are afraid of Christine O'Donnell.
The reason they're afraid of Palin and O'Donnell is because Palin and O'Donnell are acting with courage outside.
The boundaries of the way you behave as members of the ruling class.
They're acting outside and they are putting the lie to the cliché.
It's the same reason, you know, it's assumed that all blacks are Democrats and that all blacks vote for Democrats.
Here comes Clarence Thomas, nominated to be an associate justice in the U.S. Supreme Court.
Look what happened to him.
The entire network of civil rights groups, the NAA LCP, the people that are supposedly for the advancement of colored people, the feminazi all came out against Clarence Thomas, an African-American.
Why?
Because they are living a lie and he exposes it.
He illustrates it as the most powerful black man.
I'm talking about genuine power.
Associate Justice of the U.S. Supreme Court.
As the most powerful black man in the country, Clarence Thomas puts the lie to the myth that if you're black, the only way you can get anywhere is to go through the prescriptions laid out by the Civil Rights Coalition, the NAA LCP, affirmative action, and all of that.
The way, the simple way, and I know it sounds so simple it can't be true, the simplest way to understand why liberals do everything is that everything is a lie.
And when anything comes along that threatens to expose the lie, those people have to be destroyed.
What's Sarah Palin ever done to anybody?
What has Christine O'Donnell ever done to anybody?
Nothing.
Who have they hurt?
Whose businesses have they destroyed, unlike Obama?
Whose kids have they condemned to death the abortion?
None.
What actions have they taken that have created harm for people around them?
Nothing.
So what is it that warrants this almost unspeakable assault on these women?
Very simple.
They're feared.
They're just afraid of them.
And on a whole bunch of levels.
I mean, Sarah Palin, really at the top of the list here, now Christine O'Donnell, Sharon Angle.
They all come from nowhere.
They haven't followed the prescriptions.
They haven't followed the route.
They didn't go to right universities and go to the Ivy League.
They haven't been raised to be politicians.
They weren't trained.
They haven't been groomed.
They're not living a fraudulent life.
They are not phonies.
They are genuine, real people who have lived their lives.
They have not been guided through their lives.
The way has not been paved for them.
The course has not been charted like it is for anybody in government who comes out of Harvard or comes out of Yale.
They are trained to go into the political government complex.
They're trained how to talk, how to behave, how to act as a member of the ruling class, how to dress.
Why don't you think they attack Sarah Palin's wardrobe for crying out?
These people who are doing the attacking know that they're scathing on thin ice.
They know that they're fraud.
know they're living a lie.
They know that they are this far away from having it totally exposed.
If they lose the media cover, they're in real trouble.
That's why they're afraid of all these women and anybody else who threatens to expose them.
Look at folks on paper.
Sarah Palin's exactly what the now gang and the rest say they've always wanted.
On paper, Sarah Palin is it.
She has it all.
She is at the pinnacle of a political career.
She has family.
She has a loving and doting family and husband.
She has an active full life, does it all.
Everything the feminazis told women they could do.
And yet they try to destroy her.
She's a mom who got involved in politics because of her kids and worked it up through the system.
She took on the GOP's old boys club.
She hasn't backed down.
She didn't owe anything to her father.
She didn't owe anything to her husband.
Her father, her husband, didn't pave the way for her or grease the skids for her.
Compare Palin and O'Donnell to the idols of now and the Democrats like Hillary Clinton or Michelle Mybelle Obama.
Hillary, well, that's true, but I'm not going to mention that right now.
Hillary never got hired by a law firm until her husband Bill was elected attorney general in Arkansas.
And she didn't make partner at the Rose Law Firm until the day he became governor.
Michelle Mybel Obama didn't show up with a meaningful job.
And it wasn't even meaningful.
It was a no-show job at a hospital after her husband gets in the Illinois Senate.
They both got wherever they got because of their husbands.
And Michelle's case and Hillary, especially Hillary's case, she figured out way too long ago, hitch her wagon to Clinton, follow him wherever he was going to go, and when he gets there, take over.
And who knows, Michelle might be doing the same thing.
Who knows?
But you notice nobody in the Tea Party, not even anybody in the GOP, keeps telling the voters how stupid we are.
Like the Democrats always do.
John Kerry did it over the weekend.
John Kerry, once again, well, you know, people are going to vote this November the election.
They just don't know what's going on.
Whenever the liberals and the Democrats are about to lose elections because the people are stupid.
Now, the left would like you to believe that they hold O'Donnell and Palin up to ridicule because they're the gift that keeps on giving.
Yeah, the left says, oh, yeah, give us more of Palin.
Give us more of that stupid woman kind of give us more of O'Donnell.
Right. Fascinating.
So by that measure, the Democrats ought to be heading to a landslide because the Democrats have done nothing but expose all the stupidity of Palin and now the stupidity of O'Donnell for years and years and years.
The Democrats ought to be preparing to roll in the landslide next month.
No, it's fear.
They are deathly afraid of being exposed.
You libs out there, you know, some of you rank and file libs, you may not even get what I'm talking about.
When I talk about the rank-and-file lib leaders who are that chart this course and so forth, they know they're living fraudulent lives.
They know they haven't accomplished anything on their own.
They know that they are a ruling minority.
They know they represent barely 20% of the thinking in this country.
They've got themselves believing that they're twice as smart as everybody else.
The rest of us are a bunch of rubes.
And make no mistake, you rank-and-file libs, they think the same thing of you.
You're just your mind-numb robots following them right along.
They're a pie piece.
They think everybody's stupid, including you.
You blue-collar rank-and-file lib guys and lib babes, you think that they look at you the same way they look at themselves?
They look down on you the same way they look down on Palin.
They care about you only on election day.
Ask the blacks.
Ask the 90% of blacks that vote for them.
What have they done for them?
Election Day, they promise all kinds of stuff.
It's never delivered.
All they've done is destroy their families.
With the welfare state, the 2010 election is not between left and right, liberal or conservative, red or blue.
I mean, you could say that it is.
But you could boil it down to its essence by saying this election is between two groups.
One group is the get things done group.
The other is the get things.
Get things done versus get things.
And you rank and file little liberal schneides out there.
You're.
The ones sitting around waiting everything to be handed to you and given to you because you think you're owed that just because you're an American and life hasn't treated you fairly.
And you look and you judge equality by taking something from anybody that has more than you do and redistributing it around so that everybody's the same.
Two groups get things done and the get things.
Who will let me do what I do well and who will give me more of what I want?
That's the two basic voter groups.
Who's going to give me more what I want?
Who's going to get out of my way and let me do what I do well?
Now you might be hoping for the left to lose 40 seats in the House to drain the swamp of liberal rule.
I'm hoping they lose a hundred seats.
That's my hope and change.
I want them wiped out.
I want them shellect.
I want the left accurately represented at the end of the day of election day as the genuine minority they are they represent by polling data.
Go out and ask people in America, are you liberal or conservative?
20% say liberal, 40% say conservative, 30, 38 say independent.
The rest say, see me on Facebook or Twitter and I'll tell you later.
They're 20 percent, a real tsunami I want.
I want a tsunami that's going to send a genuine message to Obama and to the media that we are not the United States of liberals, that we are the United States Of America.
The country's mainstream is not your mainstream.
The fierce urgency of now is for you who are destroying the country either with your give me, give me, give me attitude, or you're voting for those you think are going to give you, give you, give you.
You're the ones that have to change.
The need for change is for you liberals to wake up and become responsible that's.
I got a slogan, higher taxes or hire you H-I-G-H-E-R.
Taxes or hire you H-I-R-E.
Higher taxes or hire you.
Here's Dave in Heron Lake, New Mexico.
You're next on the Rush Limbaugh program.
Hello.
Good day, Rush.
Hi.
Everything you said, I've been hoping for for the last 55 years that I was eligible to vote.
Yeah.
We got the Obama circus coming to New Mexico today.
Yeah.
He's campaigning for the governor, lieutenant governor, Democrat, naturally, which is the follow-up on what I call Little DC.
We had a governor that came into office with $500 million surplus.
He's gone out of office with a hundred, well, one billion dollar deficit.
I think it's Bush's fault.
Yeah, he's pushing for cap and trade.
He's pushed his, let's say, his cronies.
He's got about 350 cronies that he put into office.
He's pushing for the health, what do you call, bill that he's trying to push in office now.
I'm a retiree, and I got direct deposit for my retirement check, a union, supervised union pension.
And I just noticed they're taking about $10 more out of my taxes than they did before.
Who the heck are they paying off?
You know, these, what I call the three stooges, Biden, Clinton, and Obama are coming to New Mexico to campaign.
I wish Obama would stay home.
Whoever's maintaining that Air Force One must be going crazy maintaining that plane because he's always in it.
Well, that's true.
That's true, but I happen to know a little bit about aviation.
The people maintaining it love it being used.
I mean, that's just the way it is.
But your description of what's happening in New Mexico is, I'm sure, resonates with a lot of people around the country as to their state.
Sylvia in Clinton Township, New Jersey.
Great to have you on the EIB network.
Hello.
Hello?
Yeah, hi.
I'm sorry, Rush.
You know, Rush, I was just wondering, what do you, what are you talking about?
I mean, the president, people talk about, your listeners especially talk about the president has, you know, the socialist.
He's this, that, the other thing, and he's just, you know, putting taxes on us.
Since he's been in office, the president has cut taxes on like 98% of the population.
Because as you know, the stimulus package that he had was 42% tax cuts.
And it was 32% aid to the states who can't print money like the federal government.
Sylvia, where did you go to school?
Actually, I'm here at Rutgers.
But anyway.
Explains it.
No, no, no.
Rush.
Tell me what's wrong with you.
Do you really think that he's cut taxes for 98% of the American?
Sylvia.
Yes.
Yes.
There are phenomenal things that took place when I filled out my taxes.
Where are you reading these talking points?
There's no such react.
98% of the American people have received a tax cut.
Rush and corporate businesses.
Rush, I will say.
Well, then if that's true, then the American people are to blame for the deficit.
Of course not.
Well, of course, because that's what Democrats say.
We can't give tax cuts.
Wait a minute.
You cannot.
I am not going to sit here and put up with this and pretend that it's logical.
Your own party says that we're in this mess because of the Bush tax cuts, right?
That's unfunded tax cuts, unfunded wars.
And you call here and say 98% of the American people have been given tax cuts by Obama.
Now that's a good thing.
Well, yeah, the recession's gotten worse.
The budget deficit has gotten higher.
No, what, okay, you must believe that those tax cuts are responsible for the, this, this, this is, good grief, like Rutgers to boot, is it?
All right.
98% of the American people get tax cut.
I mean, that's right out of stimulus talking points.
You know what it was?
That was like 95% American people got a check for 250 bucks.
And it was called stimulus.
Not a tax cut.
There haven't been any tax cuts.
CNNMoney.com, July 27th, 2010, the tax hike.
Nobody's talking about getting ready for a smaller paycheck.
At least that's what could happen if Congress doesn't approve Obama's proposal to extend the making work pay tax credit soon.
This is a $7 a week tax credit, $7 a week.
That's the wonderful middle-class tax cut Obama's been bragging about for the last year and a half.
Seven tax credit.
There haven't been any income tax rate reductions.
It's an oil smokescreen.
You know, I've been thinking about something else.
And this last call from the woman that went to Rutgers, I'm going to put it out there for you to think about.
Now, we've been hearing that the recession ended in June last year, which is, what, 15 months ago?
Now, you and I believe that it hasn't ended.
We have a bunch of guys from Harvard who tell us that it ended.
All right.
There might be, I mean, for the fun of it, there might be some advantage to going along with this idea that the recession ended 15 months ago.
Because if we admit that the recession ended 15 months ago, then there goes out the window Obama's I inherited a mess argument.
Does it not?
Okay, if the stimulus, if the recession ended 15 months ago, then that's it.
We've come back.
Whatever garbage Bush put us in, that's over.
Because the recession's over.
We've stopped this.
So he can't any longer say, I inherited this mess because the mess is his.
Anything since the recession is his mess.
And we know that employment's gone up since last June.
We know that more people have lost their jobs.
There's no increased economic activity.
It's just a little semantic play on words, but it does, as does most of what I do here, brilliantly illustrate the point.
You know, some things are simply no-brainers.
Like, if I'm deciding between a free market politician and one who believes in government command and control, that's a no-brainer to me.
Now, it's a no-brainer when it comes to your car.
If you are considering two different shops for maintenance, with all things being equal except this, one of them has BG services and free lifetime protection coverage and the other shop doesn't, that's a no-brainer.
BG Products has the best maintenance services for the entire driveline, fuel injection, cooling and power steering systems in your car, keeps them running like new.
It's truly a no-brainer.
But you can't just walk into some auto parts store and say, give me, I want BG oil fluid.
You can't do it.
Because you have to go to a credited service center that has specialists who know how to use it.
It's that good.
It's so good, not even John Kerry could figure out how to use BG products.
So here's what you do.
Just go onto Onto a website called bgfindashop.com.
That's how you find out where the nearest service center to you is that uses the best driveline fuel injection, cooling, and power steering system fluid in your car.
bgfindashop.com for free lifetime protection.
John Orlando, Florida.
Great to have you on the Rush Limbaugh Program.
Hi.
Hey, Rush Megadittos.
Thank you.
Yeah, I was calling because I think you might be wrong.
That crazy lady who just called before the top of the archer.
Misguided.
She's simply a parrot.
You know, she's reading the talking points that the regime has put out with the stimulus nonsense.
Now, hold on, Rush.
She has a point, because if 98% of us Americans have had our income reduced by 50% to 30%, our taxes have gone down.
Well, if your income goes to the 20th year, you're not paying as much taxes.
Is that what you're saying?
Exactly.
If your income goes to the toilet, so your taxes haven't gone down, right?
Yeah, because you're paying taxes on less income.
Exactly.
Right.
Well, I mean, yeah, that's inarguable.
You could say we've had a tax cut.
We had to get poorer in the process.
We've lost cash flow.
We've lost the value of our house.
But we get, yeah, damn, we had a tax cut.
The whoopie doo.
Yeah, exactly.
Thanks a lot, Mr. Obama.
I like the way you think out there.
Well, thank you.
Have a good day, and I'll let you get back to the show.
