The views expressed by the host on this show, rooted in a daily unstoppable pursuit of the truth.
I am America's anchor man, America's truth detector, and the doctor of democracy.
All combined as one harmless, lovable little fuzzball, Rush Limbois at 800 282, 2882.
The email address is L Rushmow at EIB net.com.
Okay.
So our first caller, the only caller we've had today, Mel from uh Saratoga, New York.
Hey, Rush, we're not gonna understand our enemies unless we go talk to them.
We gotta go out and talk to him.
We gotta show them we mean them no harm.
Blah blah blah can't be hurt.
Obama, he knows we need uh the Chavez needs our money for his oil, blah, blah, blah, blah.
But look.
We have to talk to one another, right?
I keep hearing this from the left.
Reagan didn't talk to the Soviets until 1986.
He knew what their leaders were.
He knew what the Soviet Union was.
He knew what their plan.
We didn't need to talk to them.
Besides, as he said, their leaders kept dying.
Well, when is the last time Obama spoke to me?
Instead, President Obama has directed his hacks to attack me.
Obama, Barack Obama, President Barack Obama treats brutal dictators better than he speaks to or of many of his own countrymen who disagree with him.
In fact, Barack Obama warned Republican members of Congress, not supposed to listen to me.
And he told the American people you're not supposed to listen to people like Rush Limbaugh, but we've got a lot to learn from Hugo Chavez.
And we've got a lot to learn from Daniel Ortega.
I mean, this Ortega went nuts in his speech at the summer.
Fifty minutes just kept bashing this country left and right with Obama sitting there.
And Obama just sat there and nodded, smiled a couple of times, said that he didn't want to be blamed.
No, he thanked, he thanked uh Ortega for not blaming him for things that happened when he was just three years old or three months old or whatever, thereby pretty much confirming what Ortega said.
Well, thanks for not blaming me.
He blamed the country, but that which was fine with Obama.
But you people on the left, you saps, don't sit there and give me, we gotta talk with our enemies.
You you people of the American left, you treat me and other conservatives as a far greater threat to your existence than left-wing socialist dictators around the world, including Ahmadini Zad.
Can't wait to talk to him, can't wait to talk to all these other people that have nothing but destruction and damage and harm planned for the United States of America.
Mr. Snerdley, who was the uh who was the big guy on radio before I came along?
Well, no, no, no, I'm the modern era.
I don't want to go back to the you know days when TV would do nothing.
Arthur Godfrey.
Okay, the big the big guy in radio is Larry King.
Well, I know suppose that was the big guy.
I mean it was Larry King was the big guy in uh in radio.
I should apologize.
As the new leader of radio, I should apologize to the country for Larry King.
I should apologize to the world for Larry King.
Larry King's time on the radio was an embarrassment.
And uh things are not gonna be right with American media until I apologize for King's arrogance and his shoddy performance, even though nobody heard it because it was after midnight.
I should apologize for National Public Radio.
I should apologize to them too.
I should apologize, not to them, for them.
I should apologize to the world.
I mean, if Obama can run around apologizing for America, because he's now its leader, I should apologize for broadcasting because I'm now its leader.
I'm apologize for Chris Matthews.
Apologize for Dan Rather.
Apologize for Katie Corick.
Hell, I won't stop.
I'll apologize for Walter Cronkite.
Walter Crankite lost the Vietnam War.
I'll apologize for him.
Larry King is seen and heard around the world.
They should know America is sorry.
We subjected them to people like King and others.
I want to apologize to the world for foisting Larry King on it.
These other these media people, why they've embarrassed our country.
All the biased and phony reporting they've done over the years, I apologize for them.
That's what Obama's doing.
He's running around, he's apologizing for Bush.
He's even apologizing for Clinton.
He's apologizing for all of America.
But he's exempting himself from having anything to do with it.
Now at this point, and of course, this story, this is just President Obama's top economic advisors have determined that they can shore up the nation's banking system without having to ask Congress for more money anytime soon.
You know how they're going to do this.
All of the outstanding debt that the banks owe the country, they're just going to take it as common stock.
The United States government is going to take stock, common stock, in the 19 biggest banks of the country.
Converting those outstanding loans to common shares would turn the federal aid into available capital for a bank and give the government a large ownership stake in return.
Now you wonder why the stock market's down 248 today.
Because the banks are starting to report some healthy news.
Some of them are.
Not all, but some of the reporting, you know, healthy futures and so forth, and some of them won out of the TARP deal.
And the administration, not only are you not getting out of the TARP deal, we're not going to accept your loan repayments.
We're just going to accept whatever you owe us in the form of common stock in your bank, and we're going to own and we're going to have equity in the bank.
And this is going to save the taxpayers gazillions of dollars.
No wonder Hugo Chavez was laughing and smiling all weekend.
It's what he did to the oil industry down in his own Venezuela, nationalize it.
Obama's well on the.
I guess the United Auto workers are going to end up not only on the Board of General Motors, United Autoworkers may end up on the board of directors of some of these banks.
Now, at this point, for somebody to say that they hope Obama succeeds, knowing full well what his domestic and foreign policy is and the people he embraces and rejects, it's irresponsible to now say you hope Obama succeeds.
The only people who can say that they want Obama to succeed are either committed leftists who are dead set on dismantling the United States and their free markets, individual rights, American exceptionalism, so emotionally invested in Obama they can't admit they were wrong, or a combination of the two.
And don't discount the second option here.
They're so emotionally invested in Obama they can't admit they were wrong.
There's a large contingent of Americans who voted for Obama who just they're so emotionally invested in the historic nature and in all this Rasmatazz and rigmarole that they just they can't admit they were wrong.
And at the other end, you've got committed leftists dead set on seeing the United States dismantled who wouldn't support Obama in that regard, the capitalist system of the U.S. dismantled.
The uh the people who feel their way through life internalize, when I said I hope he fails, the people who feel their way through life internalized that as me hoping that America fails.
And Obama knows this personality type exists by the millions.
Young people are especially likely to look at life in a self-centered emotional manner.
These are Americans so invested in their hope for what Obama stands for.
That for me to say that I hope Obama fails is the same thing as saying I hope they fail.
And that's why I caught such a lot of grief over this.
Because people, the people who feel their way through life, not think their way, not live their way, but people who feel their way through life have this unhealthy emotional attachment to the cult figure that is Obama.
So here I come along, say I hope he fails.
Oh, Rush Limbaugh wants me to fail too.
No.
It's just the exact opposite.
I want everybody to succeed.
I want everybody to enjoy the fruits of liberty and freedom of the pursuit of happiness, and it's being stymied, and it's being stifled right before your very eyes with President Obama.
So that's how I hope Obama fails.
That's how that simple statement gets internalized because people have this emotional attachment.
So when I say I hope Obama fails, these people think that I was saying I hope they fail.
Personally, and such was not the case.
It's just the opposite.
Same thing, same thing goes for radical leftists who support Obama.
To say that I hope Obama fails is a hope that radical leftists fail.
And that's true.
I do want radical leftists to fail.
I want people like Chavez to fail.
I want Daniel Ortega to fail.
I want Ahmadinezad to fail.
Obama only wants me to fail.
A Democrat Party only wants me to fail.
These people are not interested in why I hope Obama fails.
It never rises to that level because they don't think they're emotionally attached.
Their feelings have been hurt.
And their world view has been questioned.
All they can do is attack me personally because they feel like they have been attacked personally, because I've attacked their emotional attachment to the cult figure that is Barack Obama.
I hurt their feelings.
When describing Obama's foreign and domestic policies as failures.
You know, Alexander Solzhenitson said that when he was in the Soviet gulag, I mean, this is what we're up against.
So these is the the kind of people that Solzhenitsyn described in the gulag are identical to the people we're up against here who have this emotional attachment to Obama.
When he was in the gulag, Solzhenitsyn said that his fellow prisoners cried when the death of Stalin was announced.
Stalin had put them there.
Stalin had put them in prison.
Stalin had imprisoned them and killed millions of them.
Those who were alive in prison cried when Stalin died.
It's like Victor from Boca Raton said last week.
Stalin didn't know all these bad things were going on, just like these people with the emotional attachment to Obama.
Obama doesn't know.
He can't he can't possibly know what Janet Napolitano did with that Department of Homeland Securities.
Brief, he can't possibly know.
So the people imprisoned by Stalin who cried when he was in prison when he was when he died are the same kind of people we're dealing here with Obama.
And then these people react in personal rage and anger when I say I hope Obama fails because their emotional link to Obama tells them that I want them to fail too, which is just the exact opposite.
And they're going to be hurt more every day now that Obama's revealing himself to be exactly as I have described and predicted.
And it hasn't been clairvoyance.
My uh just descriptions and predictions on Obama based on his past and present statements, his affiliations.
You see what happened.
I happen to flush out two kinds of people.
When I said I hope Obama fails, those who are emotionally invested in Obama more so than they are invested in their own views and their own country.
And I also flushed out those who share Obama and Bill Ayers and Jeremiah Wright's views of the United States.
So I flushed out two groups of people.
I feel sorry for those of you who are emotionally invested in Obama and really do not hate your country.
Because you your emotional investment connection to Obama is so strong that you are in denial about Obama the president and Obama's policies.
These people have defined themselves as people who have allowed their personal feelings and false hope to trump reality.
They define themselves by what they want to hear, not by what is reality, and Obama knows it and plays on it.
What do you think the statement we got to get rid of the failed ideologies of the past, we got to get rid of the failed ways of thinking in the past and move on?
What does that mean?
We've got to tear America down, put it back together in my way.
The failed ideologies of the past, the pale policies of the fail America's past is over, and it was reprehensible Obama believes.
And we've got to get rid of it, we've got to move on to people.
Yes, yes, we must unify Mr. Limbaugh.
We must admit our faith and our folly that we must move forward.
Obama wants to do this and take us with him.
These are the people who are emotionally attached.
And sadly, it's a lot of America today.
So many people have been encouraged and taught in scrubles and the culture to get in touch with their personal feelings in matters of public policy.
They are taught how they should feel about things, how they should react, what it means to them, not the intent of the speaker.
It's a dangerous way to go through life.
Critical thinking requires effort.
Shallow feelings are immature and gutless.
The people I'm talking about don't want to know why I say what I say.
They're obsessed on how the speaker's words make them feel.
I say I hope Obama fails.
Their emotional attachment tells them I also mean I want them to fail, and therefore I'm not their friend.
I'm their enemy.
When in fact their real enemy is not me.
I'm the biggest ally they have.
It's what Obama says, what that means to me, not what he intends to do.
That's how these people look at it.
But in the process, we're finding out what he intends to do.
Too many Americans play in the arena of emotions, not the arena of ideas.
Obama knows it.
He encourages it because his ideas are not America's.
His ideas are not the clear majority.
A real crisis ought to help us think, but the latest economic downturn has been misrepresented to make us intellectually and emotionally susceptible to making bad decisions and assigning blame incorrectly.
Why is it that those of you who listen to this program are so well informed and Obama followers are so poorly involved and informed.
This according to studies.
Both men purposely achieved this.
I want my audience to be as informed as possible.
Obama wants his to be as uninformed and emotional as possible, because that's how Obama is able to use that kind of support to advance his real agenda, which is unimportant to the people who have an emotional attachment.
It's incumbent on Obama and Bill Ayers to keep as many people as dumbed down and emotionally attached as possible.
It is a real condescension and smugness to treat people and look at them this way, but this is the way of Obama.
It is the way of the Democrat Party.
Emotional manipulation is used because so many people are susceptible to it.
I've never played the card of emotional manipulation.
Being taught how to feel, I mean, not think.
And that's what political correctness is all about.
Political correctness is not thinking, it's feeling.
It's about how you feel.
Are you offended?
That defines what somebody else can say or not.
That's why we now have constitutionally correct behavior.
How do you feel about the tea parties?
Teabagging jokes meant to manipulate how people felt about tea parties, not what was being said and why it was being said and why it was being done.
And Obama understands this.
Obama's trying to make patriotic constitutional behavior appear to be inappropriate and incorrect.
Brief timeout, lots more straight ahead.
Stay with us, folks.
Back to the phones.
We go to Philadelphia.
Rich, I'm glad you waited, sir, you're next.
It's your big showbiz break.
I was I was looking at these pictures over the weekend, uh, and I got this just a sick feeling in the pit of my stomach.
You know, it's just how when you get just powerful news, and you just get something.
It was just awful to see this man Tom Knob with tyrants and be so comfortable with them.
And as far as I'm concerned, what he says is no different than John Meyer Wright, except he says it in a more uh socially acceptable way.
But his his ideas are exactly the same.
Well, it certainly matters who his mentors were, and it certainly matters who his associates are, even though the drive well, you know, it's amazing how much Obama doesn't know, despite how smart he is.
Well, you didn't know Reverend Wright was saying all that.
He didn't know that Bill Ayers was doing all that bombing, and he didn't know that he didn't he didn't know he didn't know Bogoyovich was doing anything wrong in the know that Mayor Daly was doing it.
He didn't know anything.
He said he's such a nice he did couldn't possibly have known.
Here, this is um listen to this Friday night, Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago, President Obama after Ortega's remarks.
To move forward, we cannot let ourselves be prisoners of past disagreements.
I'm very grateful that President Ortega.
I'm grateful that President Ortega did not uh blame me for things that happened when I was three months old.
Too often an opportunity to build a fresh partnership with the Americas has been undermined by stale debates.
I didn't come here to debate the past.
I came here to deal with the future.
Yeah, but on what framework?
It sounds to me like I'm glad he didn't blame me for things that happened when I was three months old.
Sounds like he's saying that Ortega was right about America before the arrival of the Messiah.
I'm glad he didn't blame me for things happening when I was three months old, but I don't want to go, we don't want to think about the past anymore.
Stale debates.
I didn't come here to debate the past, I came here to deal with the future.
Yeah, but on what basis?
Do you come to debate the future accepting the premise of these tyrants and dictators of the United States, their premise of us as a mean-spirited, dangerous, murderous country?
The last famous person who said, I didn't come here to talk about the past, I want to deal with the future was Mark McGuire of the St. Louis Cardinals before congressional hearing on steroids.
Couple more observations on this uh business about the banks and the uh bailout money, the uh United States government converting remaining loans to equity in the banks.
We're talking 19 banks.
It's interesting, isn't it?
That we're talking about the nationalization of 19 American banks just after Obama pals around with Hugo Chavez and Danielo Ortega.
What what is the this I I don't know how people just can passively, passively sit by and just accept this.
Equity positions in U.S. banks.
See, Obama's going to say taxpayers have given enough.
Taxpayers have had enough of bailouts.
And I'm sure their internal polling says, you're sick and tired of bailouts.
So the way Obama's going to spin this to the emotionally attached...
Nimrods that support him is okay, no more bailouts.
The American people are tired, they've given enough.
Um and so what we're going to do is uh we're we're we're we're gonna we're gonna take stock and equity in these in these banks.
But this isn't what people had in mind when they said no more bailouts.
When people said no more bailouts, they wanted the government to get out of our businesses and let bankruptcy take over, step in and fix it.
Bankruptcy is an apolitical solution of failure.
Look at folks.
Again, I say, we've had TARP, we've had porculus, we've had bailouts, we've had the government running auto companies and government running banks, and it hadn't worked, right?
It seems to me that we can safely say the political solution hasn't worked.
Might it now be time for the proper business solutions.
But of course, we're never gonna be able with Obama in charge to get the proper business solutions because Obama tells people that business solutions are what created the problem, and only government, quote unquote, can fix this.
Government fixes something by taking equity in it, and then putting the United Auto workers on the board of directors in exchange for concessions on pension and retirement.
You watch, that's how this is gonna happen.
With the car companies, what's gonna happen is when it's all said and done, the end of the day, UAW is gonna get equity and board positions in the automobile companies in exchange for giving up some of their pension or retirement uh demands.
You watch.
Make that prediction here on April 20th, 2009.
Now let's go back to the phone.
Zamarillo, Texas is Andrew.
Andrew called us uh uh what was it, last week, Andrew, that you you called us?
Yes, sir.
Last week, day of the Tea Party.
Yeah, it's right.
They called the Day of the Tea Parties, and you weren't quite certain what their point was because you had uh you you were you were convinced that uh most people loved Obama because you're you you thought that's what the media was saying.
So um to what do we owe this great pleasure of your calling back?
Well, I would just like to tell uh tell you coming from a democratic once again I can't stress this enough, coming from a democratic point of view, I did when I called your show, I did not get what all these people had, I guess these grievance, this grievance with President Obama for.
I did not get it.
After going to the Amarillo Tea Party, uh in front of the post office, talking to people there, I began to realize what they were saying, and it started to hit me how much how much truth they had with this thing single subject here, how much truth they were speaking.
I was I I I realized, you know, all the different packages and plans Obama had put in place since he has been in office, and it uh like I said, it hit me like a ton of bricks after interviewing all these people, talking to all these people, how much they were how much they are right, and the government is overspending with our money.
Now, this is fascinating.
This is let me ask you a question about this.
Going to the tea parties and talking to the people there was the first time I'm I'm assuming, I'm asking, the first time you had heard the real reasons they were there.
Yes.
The real reasons they were there you had not heard because you had only been informed by virtue of the media.
I was hearing from CNN and uh trying to think of other stations, MSNBC.
Yeah.
Um, that that these people were just um almost just protesting the presidency, I guess you could say.
Uh they were mad.
That's what I was hearing from CNN and MSNBC.
Yeah, uh and so now your eyes have been opened and you've uh you've learned exactly why these people were there.
Did you learn that they're not threatening to you?
I don't think that they were threatening to me, no.
No.
Well, they were portrayed that way as being the threats to America, threats to Obama, that's why I asked.
Oh, no, no.
They're pretty much nice people, right?
Excuse me?
They were pretty much nice people at the Amarillo.
Well, they were very polite people.
They were very polite.
Matter of fact, I introduced myself coming from a democratic point of point of view, and they were still very nice to me and let me talk to them.
Well, I'm sure they were eager for you to understand how he felt since they finally had a chance to tell you directly.
These people know that what they believe and stand for is being inaccurately reported in the media.
I'm sure they looked at the opportunity to talk to you as just that, a great opportunity.
Well, I'm glad you went, Andrew.
Yes.
So am I. So where are you now after you've gone to the Tea Party, after you understand where these people are coming from, and you I uh you you've agreed with some of what they believe.
Yes, I do.
And uh c even hitting on today's subject.
Today's subject with Hugo Chavez.
I am I am a firm believer that for God's sakes, this is a man in Hugo Chavez who called President Bush the devil, who c just last month called Barack Obama himself an ignorant man and has done nothing but but tear down the United States.
Why would we want to be associated with somebody like this?
Well, it's a good question.
Uh it's an excellent question, and I think, you know, if you you you're right, he did call Barack Obama an ignoramus.
This was back on March the second or the third, or things somewhere around there at any rate, and then he gave him the book to help enlighten Obama about the destructive tendencies of the United States of America in this hemisphere, so that he no longer would be an ignoramus.
And Obama accepted it, smiling with handshakes and so forth.
You know, really, here's something for you to ponder, and I mentioned this at the uh at the at the beginning of this hour.
Barack Obama is far more willing, and of course we got a lot of liberals out there.
We need to talk to people, disagree with us, Mr. Limbaugh.
We need to talk to people, have problems with us.
Fine.
Obama's willing to go talk with all the anti American tyrants he can find.
He won't talk with me.
He will not talk to any conservatives.
He tells America not to listen to me.
He tells member of Congress not to listen to me, but there he is down there buddying up, kissing ass with Hugo Chavez.
You ask why would he do this?
And he's smiling.
Let me tell you something.
When he goes down there, Andrew, this is something for you to consider.
When he goes down there and says the stale arguments and stale debates of the past, I'm not interested.
We've got to move forward.
I'm glad they didn't blame me for what they don't like about this country when I was only three months old.
He didn't say, How dare you insult my country in front of me?
He thanked them for not insulting him.
So the thing to conclude here that's it's hard not to conclude this, that he has a degree of agreement with them in their view of America and wants to change America so that they don't dislike it as much.
But he wants to change America on their premise, not ours.
And it's also abundantly clear to me, Andrew, that this is all about him.
Obama foreign policy, Obama domestic policy is all about him.
It's not about the United States of America.
He's on a cult personality tour.
And I think he buys into this notion that he's Messianic, the one who has come along.
He's the one we've been waiting for, essentially.
Well, I'm glad you call back.
I'm glad you went to the tea parties, and I'm close to saying to you, Andrew, welcome home.
By the time you call back, I think I'll be able to full-fledged say, Welcome home.
Folks, once again a reminder here before we go to our obscene profit timeout.

You begin to put more and more really important stuff on the computer because it's an easy place to save it.
It doesn't take up any shelf space.
The less paper you can have around the better.
You can learn to scan pictures, import pictures, scan important documents, put them on the computer.
But if you don't back up the computer, and something happens to the hard drive in there, then you're well, there's nothing you can do.
There are some recovery places you can go, but they're not they're not by any means uh uh 100% successful.
Right now, Carbonite is restoring computer files for hundreds of people just like you, people who took control.
It's an off-site online backup that happens every time you're connected to the internet.

Lots of people are emailing and wanted to know the uh outcome of the leukemia lymphoma society Curathon last Friday.
I I've got some numbers, but they're not all in yet.
Uh there's still a lot of uh donating going on and a lot of registering at uh at Rush Limbaugh.com, but suffice to say, records were set during the Obama recession.
The uh total donors, as of this morning, were up over 45%.
We had a 45% increase in the number of donors, which again is also an indication of the rapid audience growth that we've seen this year, as well as the total dollars were up 25% over last year.
And last year was a record this happened during the Obama recession with 600,000 Americans unemployed every month.
It's um it's just amazing.
A Rush Limbaugh audience is the greatest audience in the world to paraphrase Jackie Gleason about uh about the Miami Beach audience that he said when he had his TV show down there.
Um and the numbers that the dollar numbers up 25% do not include my donation that was matched by uh the two sisters out in the state of Washington.
So that's but they're they're they're record numbers here but he was blown away on Friday as this was all happening and they're still shocked and stunned today not to mention overwhelmed with uh good vibes and incredible gratitude.
So once again I want to thank everybody who had anything to do with this last Friday because it shocked and stunned all of us.
It's just nobody thought we'd even equal what we did last year just because of the recession and to increase the dollar amount by twenty five percent and the number of donors by forty five percent it's just beautifully amazing.
Here's Tim in East Moline, Illinois.
Tim thank you for waiting.
You're up next great to have you here.
Yes good afternoon sir how are you fine and dandy appreciate it pleasure to speak with you just a couple quick Rush first of all I find it deplorable that the President of the United States uh is paling around shaking hands with communist dictators uh like Mr. Chavez um it also gives credence to his associations with uh Tony Roscoe Blogo Daily Bill Ayers you know all of the uh uh the left wing radicals uh that he's hung around with in the past I mean it just it just it just lends credence to that in my mind um also
I'm just wondering uh with all the appeasement with the uh with the dictators and the communists like Chavez and Ahmadinejad over in Iran um and and this book that Chavez uh gave uh Mr. Obama it's probably the best piece of propaganda he's had since rules for radicals in my opinion I mean it's straight from the source um but with the appeasement of these dictators um and the two thousand ten elections coming up what are the chances and um I know this is probably a long shot but what are the chances of winning back the House and the Senate for
the Republicans and imposing some kind of impeachment.
Too many variables.
Too many variables that are still unknown to start predicting election results in 2010.
For one thing, we know, for example, the generic ballot the Republicans have pulled even with the Democrats in House races.
That's not being reported much.
It's being hidden, but it has happened.
same time voters need leaders who have ideas and people to vote for and the Republican Party and the conservative movement is still very fractio.
There are many factions of the Republican Party and the conservative movement who are vying for leadership who want to redefine what conservatism is which you can't do.
Conservatism is conservatism.
It's like air is air.
But there are people, nevertheless, want to redefine it into the political approach to it.
And the most prominent, this is not, by the way, encouraging, but I'm going to tell you anyway, the most prominent faction among the dissenting conservatives is to go ahead and acknowledge that people want same-sex marriage, and it's going to happen, that people want large government.
McCain's campaign aide, Steve Schmidt, gave a speech last week and wrote a column about had a story written about it in USA Today for the Republican Party to survive we're gonna have to admit that gay marriage is something we have to support.
If we don't we are denying people civil liberties like we did prior to the Civil Rights Act.
So I'm not kidding you the cam the chief campaign strategist for McCain Steve Schmidt we got to recognize country wants gay marriage.
When it doesn't 33% of the country does but he says until we understand this we as a party are never going to remerge victorious what the the the various factions in the conservative movement who believe we're gonna have to admit the American people want big government we're just gonna have to figure out a way to give it to them.
It's the same thinking that said we're gonna have to come out for amnesty.
