Rush Limbaugh and the final hour of Broadcast Excellence today.
And we're doing Open Line Friday on Wednesday since I'll be off the next Tuesdays.
So whatever you call, if you get through, you get on.
Whatever you want to talk about is fair game.
Normally, we only talk about things that interest me, but I've broomed that today as we are instituting Friday rules.
Telephone number 800-282-2882.
As I said before, the previous hour concluded, don't doubt me.
When Barack Obama named as his chief of staff Rahm Emmanuel, many on our side immediately began attacking Rah Emmanuel.
And I, you know, we told some stories here about Emmanuel too and his partisan nature and so forth.
But it was I, ladies and gentlemen, and as far as I know, I alone, who observed that this was a smart move made by Obama.
One of the things that dogs Obama is the notion that he's got ties to the Middle East.
And in fact, our friends at Powerline have written today and have uncovered the fact that Obama associates actually are in the Middle East meeting with Hamas people.
It is actually happening.
Even though Obama is denying it, he rescinded their endorsement before the election.
But there are people according to Power Line guys and they've got their source.
But I said the appointment of Rah Emanci is Jewish.
And that's just for if there are any Arabs over there who were going to dance in the streets because Obama was elected, if there were any Arabs in the Middle East, it could be all happy because somebody from Kenya or with Kenyan roots has been elected president of the United States.
Rah Emmanuel is going to throw cold water all over that because he's Jewish and these Arab people.
What?
What?
Our guy named his chief of staff as Jew?
They don't like Jews in Arab worlds.
Lo and behold, from Reuters, the dateline is Beirut.
Barack Obama's election as U.S. president cheered many Arabs and Iranians driven to anger or despair by George W. Bush's policies over the past eight years.
But Obama's choice of Rah Emmanuel, a combative pro-Israeli political operator as his White House chief of staff, splashed cold water on some who hoped the next U.S. leader would be even more even-handed and sensitive with the Middle East.
Jordan-based commentator Osama Al-Sharif said for millions of Arabs who expressed jubilance at the monumental victory of Obama, Immanuel's appointment has put a damper on a short-lived fiesta.
A fiesta?
Arabs are talking about a fiesta?
Regardless, exactly what I thought would be the reaction, and Obama is smiling today because remember now, Obama is a campaign and a man of image.
So Osama is unhappy with Obama.
Osama al-Sharif unhappy with Barack Hussein Obama because he appointed a Jewish guy as the chief of staff.
Cold water splashed on the Arab fiesta, but I've never seen an Arab fiesta.
I've seen fiestas.
Well, I'm not seeing, well, anyway, I'm not going to nitpick here over language, but the fact is it's now worked because there were all these people that ran around thinking Obama's got sent.
And he may still have, I don't know, but the image is Arabs angry at Obama.
So how could they possibly be in league with him, you see?
Unemployment rising.
State officials warned that Ohio's fund for paying unemployment benefits is dwindling and could be empty by next month.
Next month is what?
December.
As in Christmas, Governor Ted Strickland said he's asking Congress for federal aid to replenish the fund.
Arnold Schwarzenegger says he's got a now $28 billion deficit in California.
$28 billion.
And he's asked for $5 billion or $7.5 billion.
According to the Washington Post, folks, dozens of immigrant advocates gathered in Washington this week.
They are demanding that the incoming Obama administration halt immigration raids and offer amnesty to illegals.
One advocate said, we voted in the millions and now we're going to demand progress in the millions.
To drive the point home, they're planning a massive rally on the Washington Mall the day after Obama is sworn in.
You see, folks, elections have consequences out there.
Now it's payback time.
Democrats have long complained that Republicans are beholden to special interests, such as businesses trying to shield themselves from higher taxes, burdensome regulations, mandates, all that stuff that cripple their ability to compete.
Groups seeking to shore up rights once assumed to be constitutionally protected, like Second Amendment rights or the right to life itself.
But the Democrat special interests, well, they're immigration advocates who demand the right for millions to break the law and steal citizenship rights.
Another Democrat special interest is the feminazis.
They demand the right to destroy life to the level of the human embryo.
Labor unions, they demand the right to kill the secret ballot.
Teachers' unions who demand the right to propagandize with no accountability in failing screws.
And of course, the tort bar, the good old trial lawyers, liberal lawyers and judges who demand the right to trample the U.S. Constitution.
In short, Republican special interests are givers who add to our prosperity and quality of life.
Liberal special interests are takers.
Takers of life, takers of liberties, and takers of the pursuit of happiness.
These people, they're not even happy.
How can we be happy being around them?
Even now, they're not happy.
I mean, they say they're running around giddy, but they're not happy.
They're all worried.
But all kinds of things.
Here, give you an example.
Yesterday on MSNBC's New York Times Transition Edition.
The New York Times Transition Edition.
The co-host Tamron Hall interviewed Maureen Dowd of the New York Times.
Tamarin Hall said this.
I was in a car the other day with a gentleman from another country, and he said, I just really feel that the weather is better because Barack Obama, he said, I think he's on the good side.
Look at the weather as proof.
And I pointed out that it was snowing and 34 degrees that day in Chicago and cold.
But beyond the obvious black and white rhetoric, which we seem to get caught up in a lot in the country, what about the impact overall?
You hear people saying that this is a good thing globally.
Take us past the black and white that may be happening in Washington, D.C., and talk about the global impact this could have.
What a source to ask this question of Maureen Dowd of the New York Times, and here's what she said.
Was almost like the whole W, my images that he took the family station wagon and crashed into the globe.
Then he backed it up and crashed into the economy.
And at that point, it was such a mess that they said, hey, let the black rookie have a chance.
He can't make it any worse.
And already he's made it better because already we feel this wonderful hope that perhaps things that are illegal, like torture and domestic spying and gitmow, you know, that these things can be rectified by a constitutional law professor.
This is just insane.
It is Luliab's Maureen.
You're in the news business.
Did you not read the AP Obama yesterday celebrating the fact that many of these executive orders that guaranteed the president the right to spy on the bad guys are going to remain in place because they will offer Obama flexibility in fighting the war on terror?
But this is this.
I know she sounded like a complete idiot.
She normally doesn't sound like a complete.
This, she sounded like an idiot.
Have this wonderful hope that perhaps things that are illegal torture, domestics by Gitmo oh, what a narrow tunnel vision here.
And, by the way, this economy, if it hadn't been for George W Bush, would have crashed five years ago if it hadn't been for the Bush economic policies.
But look, let's talk about Get Gitmo for just a second, because Obama does want to close it and Obama does want to bring.
There are 250 really bad bad guys at Club Gitmo.
I mean, these are the bottom-of-the-barrel dregs.
These are genuine human debris that are at Club Gitmo.
The Democrats want to get them out of there and bring them to the United States for trial in the U.s court system, giving them full access to constitutional rights.
Now let's take this a little step further.
Let's go to the actual trial.
Bring in one of these shreds of human debris.
A trial in a?
U.s court has all kinds of requirements, the prosecution has to have evidence, there has to have been miranda warnings, all these kinds of things.
Can you imagine testimony from the defense and witnesses about what happened on the battlefield when this, when this terrorist was nabbed, how his rights were denied him?
Remember.
Now he's in the?
U.s court system, he has access to U.s constitutional rights.
I can see a jury acquitting based on our judicial system.
I can see a jury acquitting a whole bunch of these 250 dregs of society.
Then, after they are acquitted, they are innocent.
What do you do with them?
Do you just let them stay in town?
Do you let them stay in the country or do you kick them out?
And if you kick them out, on what basis?
You just found that they're not guilty.
And on the other hand, there are all kinds of people living here who do not have legal papers.
No countries want these people back.
You can't send them back to where they're from, because where they're from doesn't want them.
These are the dregs of society.
We do not have 250 angels down at Club Gitmo.
the legal team that's going to be in charge of devising the strategy here is led by harvard professor lawrence tribe which is hardly governing from the center we'll be back stay with us myrtle beach south carolina gray nice to have you on the eye network hello negative carolina did us rush yeah thank you sir uh Quick question and quicker comment.
I'm 26 years old, Rush.
I work for a living.
I pay my mortgage on time, and I'm scared to death of where this country is going.
Also, I just got engaged.
And I look to you for your insightful and inspirational advice, and we appreciate you.
I just want to let you know that, sir.
Thank you very much.
Question: These people that supported the Messiah, Mr. False Hope here, how long do you give it before they realize that there's no way he can come through with half of what he's promised?
And that being the case, will they turn on him?
We know the media is not, but will the people actually turn on this man?
That remains to be seen, and it is a good question.
And the reason my instinct would be to say, of course they will at some point.
They turn on everybody.
But I'm reserving that because I think you should get ready for even more synergistic behavior for the media and Obama.
Bad news is not going to be reported as bad news.
You heard me say if you were at the beginning of the program today, they've already got a poll out that well over 50% of the American people are willing now to wait on tax cuts.
They understand what a hard job Obama now faces, and they really don't care about getting out of Iraq real soon.
So they're going to be carrying the water and they're going to smooth the road for him and they're going to do news stories misrepresenting public opinion like they have been doing up until the election and through the campaign, misrepresenting public opinion in a means of shaking it, shaping it.
Now, as to Obama's voters, another reason for reserving comment on this is that I'm really worried that there is more groupthink than I have ever seen in the electorate this year.
People voted for an image.
They voted for symbolism.
They did not vote for something.
They voted for this mythical thing called change.
And they've got so much emotion invested in this guy.
And there's so much love.
I mean, disguised as love or emotion that they think is love.
And that's a hard emotion to shatter.
You know, I'm sure you know people that love reprobates, and you'd love to take them aside.
How do you love that person?
That person's mistreating you.
Don't you dare.
You know, you can't.
You can't insult them.
You can't criticize them.
Love is one of these emotions that it's on its own out there.
So I don't know.
I think what is interesting to me is he will overreach.
At some point, he's going to overreach because he's got.
See, bottom of his heart, bottom of his mind, Obama knows that he got this election by fooling people.
He knows that he was not honest with the people about what he wants to do.
He had help from the media camouflaging his proposals, his ideas, and what he really intends to do.
At some point, he's going to do what he intends to do, and it will be at odds with what people heard him say they were going to do.
At that point, do those people excuse him and say, well, he faced circumstances he didn't know?
Do they make up excuses to justify what he's doing because their emotional attachment to a symbol?
It's creepy.
I mean, it's creepy.
And I don't know people like this.
Too many people.
I don't know what's going to shatter their faith.
Yes, sir.
Well, when we've got the media in the tank for this guy, I mean, this is Al Jazeera on the United States version of Al Jazeera as far as our media.
They only show us what they want to show us.
Yep.
And they are making up news.
Literally, when I saw this poll today, most Americans willing to wait on tax cuts.
I just couldn't, I could not keep a straight face.
It is just so patently a lie.
And they're already taking Obama approval ratings now.
And he's not even been inaugurated.
And by the way, it's 64%.
Right.
Well, that poll must have been given out in the NBC waiting area out there or something.
Maybe that's where they got that poll from.
Well, I would love to have an answer for you on your question, but I do think, like I said yesterday, he is going to overreach because he also has this messianic complex.
He thinks of himself as something super special and unique.
He thinks, and Michelle said it, the power and his will, he can fix anything just by the very nature of his presence.
Right.
Now, of course, nobody has that kind of power, and he doesn't either.
At some point, something has to give here, and he's going to overreach in ways that will create openings, electoral openings for Republicans and so forth.
But I don't know to what extent his own voters.
You said Democrats.
A Democrat's going to hang with a guy no matter what.
But people who were not really hardline Democrats who voted for him are going to be the ones that will be the first to peel off.
Right.
Well, I hope so.
I hope the American public gets enlightened because it's scary, Rush.
It really is, looking at where, you know, the rest of my life and my generation's life.
And I think they said 98% of people my age voted for Obama, and that's what's really scary.
Well, look at, you know, I understand totally.
Forget Obama for a moment.
Look what's happening here with the Treasury Secretary and nationalizing various businesses and making sure that people who could not afford mortgages still get to stay in those houses.
Right.
Bailing out the auto companies.
This is an antithetical to the way this country was founded and to the systems that were put in place, the institutions that led to America's greatness.
They're all being torn down here.
And they're eventually going to get rebuilt because this is going to fail.
All this is going to make more people unhappy and miserable than they ever dreamed possible.
They think they're mad and miserable now.
They have no idea what's coming.
At that point, there's going to be a tipping point.
We're going to reach it.
I can't tell you when, but I wouldn't be surprised if Obama doesn't even run for a second term.
If he implements everything he really wants to implement, and if he does it, if he comes out running and he does these things, there's going to be nothing to run on.
People are going to not want any more to do with him.
If, if, if he does all these things and gets a lot of them accomplished.
And that's a big if, too.
Right, if.
Quick question, too, Rush.
The Failure Factory book, is that out now?
Yes.
Mr. Goertz's book?
Yes, sir.
Yeah.
Yeah.
It most definitely is.
Okay.
I'll have to go get that today.
He sounded very insightful.
And I'm just trying to find anyone that is one of the foremost national security reporters and one of the last remaining investigative reporters in Washington dealing with the Pentagon and national security matters.
State Department CIA is a great reporter, and his books are always great reads.
Look, I'm glad you called Gray.
I got a brief time out here.
We'll take it now.
Come back.
Open line Friday on Wednesday.
Remember when we go to the phones, you control the show and the content.
Whatever you want to talk about, A-O-K.
All right, folks.
Look, we have to get a grip.
We have to get a grip out there.
Look at, we survived four years of Jimmy Carter, and that was bad.
We survived Lyndon Johnson and the great society and the war on poverty.
I mean, we're still paying for it, and it didn't work, and it's destroyed a whole lot of people's lives in this country, but we're still here, and we're still progressing, and we're still improving our lives, and we will still be able to do so.
It's just going to take a lot of work.
Let me give you a quote.
Samuel Adams, it does not take a majority to prevail, but rather an irate, tireless minority, keen on setting brushfires of freedom in the minds of men.
Now, what this means in the current context is the assault that an Obama administration will make on liberty is precisely where we aim in trying to tell people what's happening to them, why it's happening, and how to change it and how to stop it.
Because I don't care if you're brown, black, green from Mars, if you're old, young, whatever, the one thing that every American believes in and will fight for is freedom.
And when that freedom is under assault, particularly by a government, Americans will rally.
And our freedom, if Obama is able to implement much of what he has stated and much of what his past indicates, there will be great assaults on freedom.
The government is already taking over a number of businesses, or at least getting their hands in them.
And that always leads to restrictions on freedom.
And this is where the battle, I think, will be joined over the concept of liberty, over the concept of freedom.
Now, we survived Jimmy Carter.
We survived Lyndon Johnson.
I mean, we even survived Watergate.
You know, that was, as far as the party is concerned, was a debacle.
And we came back much sooner after Watergate than anybody thought.
Now, everybody's comparing the party plunge this year to same thing that happened after Watergate.
Okay, fine.
The lesson from Watergate is you come back and you can come back.
And when the tough gets going, you know, or the going gets tough, people start working harder.
The people who accept the responsibilities of life in this country will continue to be the ones that make the country work.
There will be obstacles placed in the way, larger in some cases than ever before, but that will just inspire a lot of people to overcome them.
And that inspiration, by the way, will be forthcoming from this hallowed microphone each and every day.
Because we're not going to sit around and let the institutions and traditions that have defined this country's greatness simply be destroyed without any effort to stop it.
So it's right now, I got kind of amused when I look at the way the media is covering this guy.
I'll tell you something else about Obama.
Have you heard the concept?
Remember when Donald Trump was in financial trouble, he couldn't pay back all the loans at this point in time that he owed various banks.
And so the banks had to rewrite and redo the loans because Trump was too big to fail.
If they let Trump, that whole philosophy, and it's come back now, and by the way, Trump paid it all back.
He's cool, fine.
But that whole philosophy is operative now.
Well, Citibank, too big to fail.
Big three automakers, too big to fail.
American Express credit cards too big to fail.
I don't know about that, but I'll tell you, as far as all they have invested in Obama, he's too big to fail.
And I'm talking about the media.
They have invested so much in this guy.
If you are expecting the media to ever turn on this guy in toto, it ain't going to happen.
You might see a story here or there critical of something as these people just try to keep themselves appearing honest.
But there is so much invested in this guy.
He represents so much more than just the presidency now.
He represents things that to the drive-bys of the Democrats are beyond human.
He's too big to fail.
So do not expect the standard build them up and then tear them down from the drive-by media on this guy.
It will not happen.
He's going to have to screw up so bad.
He's going to have to mistreat a reporter.
Something is going to have to go so bad that we can't even envision what it is to force the press to do a 180.
He's too big to fail.
Remember, the drive-bys think they got him elected.
The drive-bys sheltered the truth about this guy.
The drive-bys helped create and present this image, this charismatic demagoguery.
They helped write the script.
They made it happen, and they are proud.
They are happy.
This was historic.
In their minds, they have made history.
It's Camelot again, folks.
It's Camelot.
Camelot cannot fail.
Camelot cannot end up being a bad thing in the history books.
Barack Obama cannot and will not be allowed to go into the history books as the guy who destroyed the notion of Camelot.
Because the Camelot thing is tied to the Kennedys.
It ain't going to happen.
He's too big to fail.
So do not get your hopes invested in the press turning on him.
It ain't, isn't going to happen.
He's too big to fail.
Now, I'm talking about image-wise.
He can bomb out as a president.
It's just they won't report it.
He can bomb out.
He could, I don't even want to speculate on things, but there are, and I have nothing in mind.
I was just going to make something up.
He could make a series of blunders like no president's ever made.
They will cover.
They'll find a way to cover for him.
He's too big to fail.
Here's Bobby in Newton Falls, Ohio.
Hi, Bobby.
Glad you waited.
Welcome to the EIB Network.
Hi.
Hi.
Our whole family listens to you.
We love you.
I've been listening to you ever since Jocelyn Elders wanted to make safer bullets.
Well, thank you.
Safer bullets.
Yeah, I have a son in Iraq.
But before I get to my question, I have a juicy little tidbit.
In Luke chapter 10, verse 18, it says, I beheld Satan fall from heaven as lightning.
And Barack's name is Lightning, and Bama means highest.
No, I'm not inferring anything.
I just wanted to throw that out there.
But my question is, what can we do about getting back to closed primary?
That's up to the state parties.
State parties set the rules on how primaries are going to happen.
And if you live in a state with an open primary, you're going to have to go to your state parties and start the process going.
The problem is that I don't know what the motivation in various states are for These open primaries, but the way the Republican Party has attempted to constitute itself lately, wanting Democrats to come in and vote for them.
And of course, the Democrat Party uses the same thing.
They use their open primaries to send Democrats in to elect or nominate our candidate.
It's a bad deal.
Early voting, all of these things.
I just, I just, a lot of things in the electoral system need to be fixed.
Ladies and gentlemen, I see these stories each and every day.
Identity theft.
Another, what was it?
The ChiComs.
The ChiComs hacked into a White House computers.
ChiComs, it was undrudged in the White House.
The ChiComs hacked into some, I think it was White House, government computers and were able to read some things going back and forth.
Now, that's high-level stuff.
I don't think the ChiComs are trying to steal your identity, but they're getting into Pentagon computers are trying to.
And Bill Gertz talks about it in his book.
But this is serious, especially during times like this.
When times are tough, the identity thieves love to try to get your credit card or bank information and start opening new accounts and so forth because times are tough.
And if you're not protected, if you've got to talk to somebody who's lost their identity, has gone through this, it can take years to straighten it all out.
Your credit rating and all kinds of things.
There's a way to stop it.
Lifelock.com.
It is very simple.
Identity theft is real.
Some people say it's out of control.
Your doctor's office, if you're in line for morning coffee, shopping online at home, doesn't matter.
Identity thieves are targeting you and everybody you share your information with.
And there's a way you can prevent it.
LifeLock is the way.
And what they don't stop, by the way, they fix at their expense up to $1 million.
So whatever happens, you are protected.
It works.
It works.
LifeLock.com will prevent identity theft in most cases before it even starts, and they'll notify you that somebody's trying to.
And if you sign up for LifeLock and this happens to you, you will be so grateful the first time they tell you they stop somebody trying to steal your identity because it'll happen.
Lifelock.com.

You know, ladies and gentlemen, on this program, we have a phrase that sometimes describes one of the strategieries we use to communicate here.
It's called illustrating absurdity by being absurd.
And I'm afraid my strategy is being stolen.
Just as I admitted stealing from Bill Clinton, the concept that Obama's a Chicago thug, CNN, is now stealing from me my strategy of illustrating absurdity by being absurd.
Here is correspondent Deborah Feyrick on Lou Dobbs' show last night.
Sun experts who track diversity say the election of the first black U.S. president will change dynamics in the workplace.
They say white people who have never worked for an African-American boss will likely develop a new trust, while black people, they believe, will gain a sense of new possibility.
Okay, so the election, hang on a minute, iPhone's going nuts with weird sound effects here.
I mean, the electronics.
Just throw the thing up against the wall.
It's not the phone's fault.
Anyway, you know, just that when it when it connects, all the static that you get.
Ladies and gentlemen, You white people, experts now say you, because of this election, are now more likely to build up a new trust and have trust for a black boss.
And black people will gain a new sense of possibility.
Now, this is absurd.
Obama will help white people work for black bosses.
What's your question, Mr. Snerdly?
What is the...
Snerdly, why are you doing this to me?
Why are you asking me?
Snerdley wants to know where the black bosses are.
You want to know where the black boss is at blackbosses.com to find out where to go to be a black boss.
Is that what you want to know?
Are you giving me a just to give yourself a ball?
You want to have a black boss just so you can prove to people that you're enlightened?
Is that what you?
Oh, where do you go to get your black boss?
I see.
I see.
Snerdley being funny.
Where do you go to get your black boss?
It's a good question.
And I'm going no further with this.
A lot of people work for black bosses.
In the huddle, the quarterback is the boss.
There are a lot of blackhead coaches, black CEOs.
Herman was the guy that ran the pizza chain, Herman Kane.
I mean, there's all kinds of this.
That's why this is absurd.
People work for black bosses.
I'm going to be more comfortable.
Shannon in Dallonega, Georgia.
Nice to have you on the program.
Welcome to the EIB Network.
Hello.
Hi, Rush.
Thank you so much for your time and for giving me a voice today.
You're welcome.
By the way, people are asking me about my voice today.
Rush, do you have a cold?
No, I don't have a cold.
I take Zycam.
I was up very late last night.
It was a very festive night last night.
Was up late having lots of fun.
And for some reason, when I don't get a lot of sleep, my voice just fades away.
And I get a little hoarse here.
But no, I don't have a cold.
When I'm thinking of getting a cold, take Zycam.
Absolutely.
I need to go get some.
We're on the verge of my house.
Herman Kane's from down here.
He's a very smart conservative man.
He would be a wonderful black boss.
Herman Cain. Herman Cain.
Yes, Herman Kane.
Yeah.
Yes.
The transcriber said McCain is from down here.
So what, McCain?
Herman Kane.
Yes.
He'd be a great black.
He was a black boss, and everybody loved him.
Yep, he's on conservative radio down here now, and I like to listen to him.
I'm calling about the Georgia Senate race.
Yeah.
I'm a little frustrated.
Well, that's not true.
I'm very frustrated.
I kind of feel like my vote is being extorted down here.
You know, Georgia conservatives screamed bloody murder over the bailout, and Stacksby Chamlick refused to vote with us.
He went up there and did what he wanted to do, whatever he wanted to do, which is, you know, even come clean down here.
I know, I know, I know.
And he voted for the gang of whatever on the offshore drilling.
He made a tactical mistake there.
At this point, people in Georgia have got to take this very seriously because the Democrats are trying to steal Minnesota.
And he's got to win this runoff in Georgia.
If we lose these two, they're up to 59.
I know, Rush.
I'm in total agreement with you there.
And I continue to write and write and write letters over to their campaign, begging them for just one humble moment to admit that the bailout was a really bad idea and that it's down the tube further than anybody could have imagined.
And just to admit that he's in Washington to represent me.
He's not going to do it.
He's not going to do it, these guys.
The last thing they do is apologize.
It opens up too many cans of worms.
No, but don't.
Do what you want.
Because I understand the sentiment.
But somebody opens up one of these guys.
I'm sorry.
I'm sorry for what I did.
The Democrats are never going to let go of it.
It'll be a TV ad, and they'll say, what else should he apologize for?
And they'll finally get, he should apologize for breathing.
Saxby Chamblis should apologize.
You can't go down that road.
Can't he go down that road just a little bit and then blame it on the Democrats for being the ones to take control of the bailout and make such a big mess out of it?
Well, if he does that, he's making himself sound powerless.
The stakes here are a little bit more important than just individual Saxby Chambliss.
But then you get what you get when he goes there.
So it's a toss-up.
We're going to put this into practice on Monday, folks.
