Welcome to today's edition of the Rush 24-7 podcast.
Ladies and gentlemen, it is worse than I thought.
It is worse than I thought inside the Republican Party.
What the Republican Party, led by disgruntled and failed McCain staffers is trying to do to Sarah Palin, is unconscionable and is unacceptable.
Greetings, my friends, it's Rush Limbaugh behind a golden EIB microphone, once again coming to you live and direct from the Limbaugh Institute for Advanced Conservative Studies.
Great to have you here.com.
Do you remember during the campaign, Bill Cunningham in Cincinnati went on at a rally for McCain, introduced McCain, well, he didn't introduce him, but he got the crowd riled up.
He did a did a warm-up for the uh for the later appearance by McCain and referred to uh Obama with his full name, Barack Hussein Obama.
McCain went into a tizzy and denounced Cunningham, and he denounced all kinds of other people who were supporting McCain and trying to rally supporters for McCain.
Anytime they said anything about Obama that McCain didn't like, something as innocuous as mentioning his middle name, McCain denounced them, distanced themselves.
You wonder why the Republican Party lost in North Carolina.
Remember the great ads the North Carolina Republican Party ran?
And McCain denounced them, demanded they pull the ads down.
Now, where is Senator McCain today when members of his own staff are trying to destroy Sarah Palin?
I haven't heard a word.
In fact, all I've heard about Senator McCain is this from the Associated Press Obama.
During the campaign, McCain staunchly opposed setting a deadline, even as the Iraqi government began working with the Bush administration to do so.
But in conceding the presidency to Obama, McCain pledged to do, quote, all in my power to help him lead us through the many challenges we face.
AIDS said they believed McCain would work well with Obama as president because much of McCain's best work in the Senate had been done with Democrats, including a landmark campaign finance law that he crafted with Russ Feingold and the unsuccessful effort with Ted Kennedy to pass comprehensive immigration reform.
Democrats who patted their majorities in the House and Senate suggested McCain could mediate solutions to partisan standoffs on key legislation.
Chuck Hugh Schumer, New York Democrat.
There's a need for the old John McCain, a leader who worked in a bipartisan way.
So the Democrats, they're after they want McCain to come and be some kind of a liaison from the Obama White House to the Senate.
The old John McCain's back, the guy who worked with the Democrats.
Where is he denouncing his own staff dumping all over Sarah Palin?
Let me tell you why they're dumping all over Sarah Palin.
They are dumping all over Sarah Palin because she is conservative.
This is why I say it is worse than I thought.
I knew during the campaign, I knew during the primaries that we had uh uh a bunch of different coalitions now making up the Republican Party, and that all those other coalitions were doing everything they could to dismantle and dismember conservatism and to render it inoperative in the Republican Party.
We all knew this.
Uh one of the uh one of the purposes of the country club Blue Blood Republicans was to find a candidate, go out and reach to the other side, bring in Democrats, bring in independence and so forth, and that would be the magic formula to go out and win.
And then support comprehensive immigration reform because big business wants it for cheap labor, and that's going to get the Hispanic, but we see the results.
They were all wrong.
The strategies were all wrong, they were a dismal failure.
So now Sarah Palin, who was the one person in this campaign that brought the Republican base back into the fold, that fired them up, that inspired them, that excited them.
We all saw the turnout where she went.
We all saw her speeches.
They're focusing here on one Katie Corick interview, but some of the things that they are saying about her are just unconscionable and unacceptable.
And they have been Leaking this stuff from inside the McCain campaign.
We need to know who these people are.
For future reference down the line.
Now, Carl Cameron did a report on Fox last night.
He was on the O'Reilly factor, and he's now been everywhere on Fox because people have been leaking to him.
But it's not just, it's not just Fox and Carl Cameron, Newsweek.
Newsweek has a special project they call on Sarah Palin, the purpose of which is to destroy Sarah Palin, and of course establish the anointed one.
Speaking of Obama, by the way, the Obama recession is in full swing, ladies and gentlemen.
Stocks are dying, which is a precursor of things to come.
And this is an Obama recession might turn into a depression.
It's he hadn't done anything yet, but his ideas are killing the economy.
His ideas are killing Wall Street.
They need some certainty.
And now everybody in the in the drive-by-we don't know who Obama is.
We've got a story from Jennifer Lovin, the Associated Press today.
We don't know who Obama is.
All of a sudden now on Charlie Rose, they're starting to talk about his ties to Saul Alinsky.
And now all of a sudden, I'm not joking at all.
It's all coming up on the program.
Wait a minute, we've also got, let's see, a Reuters story.
Here's the headline.
Will Democrats tinker with mutual funds and 401k plans?
So now they do the story after the election.
And they get it right, and they tell you what the Democrats plan to do with your 401k is, confirming what I told you, a bunch of people did prior to the election.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average is down 780 points since Obama won the election, and he hasn't passed anything yet.
The C's have not parted, the sea levels have not uh declined, and guess what we learned today?
Vladimir Putin wants to return as the president of Russia.
Now let me give you this in a football analogy.
Putin returning to power is like a successful head coach coming out of retirement after learning this schedule for the next four years will be a cakewalk.
Imagine Chuck Knoll of the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Let's make Vladimir Putin now becomes Chuck Knoll, who's been retired from the Steelers for a long time.
Chuck Knoll learns that his team will have a series of all-home games for the next four years, and the teams he's got to play are the Detroit Lions, the Oakland Raiders, the Kansas City Chiefs.
He's going to be playing the patsies of the league.
Do you think they put that talk about putting missiles in Europe yesterday aimed at Poland?
Now today the KGB comes back.
Putin wants power.
Ladies and gentlemen, I actually think the Obama campaign likes this economic chaos.
Uh, just as they did during the campaign, the more economic chaos there is, the greater opportunity for expanded government.
By the way, the news media today, they're spinning for this.
They're spinning all over the place.
Uh what is it?
Chris Kumo today on Good Morning America's.
This market drop had nothing to do with Obama.
This market drops because of bad economic news.
I even saw, I'm not sure where because I was hustling here this morning.
There's a some news agency reported that Obama is not facing a sinking economy.
He's not facing a sinking economy.
That's exactly right.
He's causing it.
He is causing the sinking economy.
So we have all of this going on while at the same time, Republican McCain campaign operatives are trying to destroy Sarah Palin.
So it's worse than I thought.
There are country club blue blood moderate Republicans who want nothing to do with a firebrand conservative in the Republican Party who can fire up people, who can inspire people, who can motivate them.
This Newsweek special project is amazing.
Newsweek has learned that Palin's shopping spree at high-end department stores was more extensive than previously reported.
Now, why?
Why do this?
Who benefits from this?
Who gains from this kind of story running right now?
She back in Alaska, the campaign's over, the election's over, and we got more stories on her wardrobe.
And how she's a diva.
Who who in the world Makes out okay if this happens.
And see, when you ask the question who benefits, uh, it's amazing how the C's do part.
And enlightenment shoves your way, and you can see exactly what's going on.
Listen to this.
While publicly supporting Palin, right, publicly supporting her, we had leaks trying to cream her during the campaign.
McCain and McCain's top advisors privately fumed at what they regarded as her outrageous profligacy.
One senior aide said that Nicole Wallace had told Palin to buy three suits for the convention and hire a stylist, but instead, she began buying for herself and her family clothes and accessories from top stores like Saks Fifth Avenue and Neiman Marcus.
According to two knowledgeable sources, a vast majority of the clothes were bought by a wealthy donor who was shocked when he got the bill.
Palin also used low-level staffers to buy some of the clothes on their credit cards.
The McCain campaign found out last week when the aides sought reimbursement.
One aide estimated that she spent tens of thousands of dollars more than the reported 150,000 dollars, and that 20,000 to 40,000 went to buy clothes for her husband.
Some articles of clothing have apparently been lost, and angry aid characterized the shopping spree as Wasilla Hillbillies looting Neiman Marcus from coast to coast, said the truth will eventually come out when the Republican Party audits its books.
Palin aides said that Governor Palin was not directing staffers to put anything on their personal credit cards, and anything that staffers put on their credit cards has been reimbursed like an expense.
Nasty and this is where the Palinade speaking, nasty and false accusations following a defeat, say more about the person who made them than they do about Governor Palin.
So what's going on here is two things.
An effort to blame her for the loss, all this talk about she dragged the ticket down, which is an absolute laughter.
It is an absolute joke, and an effort to damage her for the future.
Uh, it's and this is it's just it's unconscionable what is happening and what they're doing to Sarah Palin and our own party.
Let me ask you this, folks, will smearing a classy and upbeat conservative star make her more or less popular with a Republican base.
If she decides to remain a public figure, she will be a very popular national figure.
And I don't think she's going to be intimidated by anybody regarding her decision, whatever she wants to do, but that is the precise reason that they're going after her on our side.
McCain moderates don't fair care for conservatives.
We know this.
McCain moderates are not uh welcome going forward in our party as far as I'm concerned, especially now that Obama wants McCain to be a liaison between his administration and the Senate, because the good McCain's back, the old good John McCain's, the guy that votes with Democrats, and Chuck Yu Schumer.
I mean, that's the kind of resume we want, right?
We want a resume, we want a guy who claims that the real McCain, Chuck Schumer defining for us who the real McCain is, that's the guy we want back, right?
It's um just makes me mad, folks, but put put uh plain and simple, it's just it infuriates me.
It's beyond law.
Look at what she did.
She's minding her own business up there in Alaska.
She didn't campaign for the VEP job.
So they call her up because they need a Hail Mary.
They're admitting, when they say they needed a Hail Mary that their own candidate was going nowhere.
So they need a Hail Mary.
So what did she do?
She dragged herself and the entire family all over the fruited plain without missing a beat.
She was unfailingly cheerful.
She was a spot of sunshine in an abysmal election year.
And now they're upset at her because she's all the rumors about going rogue and so forth.
What do you hear if you if you haven't heard this yet?
We're going to play it after the break.
What Carl Cameron reported he was told on O'Reilly's Fox show last night by McCain Stafford.
Sit tight, we're coming right back.
Lots to do today, so don't go away.
And welcome back, El Rushbow, and the excellence in broadcasting network, a doctor of democracy here, and the waiting room is still full.
Let me Let me put this to you this way, as I realize it is worse than I thought.
John McCain's campaign staff has now spent more time attacking Sarah Palin than they spent combined on Jeremiah Wright, Bill Ayers, Bernardine Dorn, Rashid Khalidi, Mike Klonski, Frank Marshall Davis, and Obama himself.
There is this party must be suicidal.
Or at least the moderate wing of the Republican Party is suicidal.
Part of me want, you know, when when your opponent committing suicide, this is the best thing to do is get out of the way.
But I tell you what, this portends.
This portends, I don't care what Obama does.
We'll be dealing with that as uh as it unfolds.
I don't care what Obama does.
What this means is quite simply that the battle or the war to re-establish the Republican Party as the home of conservatism is going to be fought.
They're gonna fight us.
It appears the moderates and the blue bloods and the Republican Party gonna fight us harder than they fought Obama.
Are we ready for this?
Hell yes, we're ready.
Yes, we can.
Damn right we can these these are the people losing elections.
These are the architects of defeat who are trying to build on their defeat so that they can build a party that will never win anything.
Although they don't know that they're doing that.
By the way, ladies and gentlemen, it was CNN.
CNN Money said that uh there will be no recession and no depression now.
It was Obama.
And that what took 24 hours?
And we predicted it.
We predicted it right here on the EIB network.
Amazing.
How the economy all of a sudden is not that big a deal.
Not that big a problem.
Well, it is.
The Dow Jones Industrial average down to over 790 points since Obama won.
He hasn't even passed anything yet.
The uh I mean the truth about this is the markets work six to nine months ahead.
Everybody in the market is trying to figure out where we're gonna be six to nine months ahead.
They're selling and they're getting out.
That 4,000 point drop, that was also due to Obama.
In fact, let's go to soundbite number one before we get to Carl Cameron here.
This was on CNBC this morning on the Squawk Box show during something they call a bond report.
Uh Andrew uh Sorkin from the New York Times, UBS Financial Services Director Art Cashin, spoke about the Obama transition.
The New York Times guy says, why wasn't Obama's attitude toward Wall Street versus Main Street already baked into the cake?
I mean, here's an expectation that Obama was gonna win.
There's an expectation he's talking about Main Street and Wall Street as if they're two separate things for a very, very long time.
It's one thing to be campaign rhetoric.
You can understand that.
Both of them were talking on a populist vein.
But now we're getting in there, we're gonna be talking about specific packages.
I think the market said, holy smoke, the campaign's over, and we're still talking like that.
So what does that mean as far as opinions and uh ideology and where it's going?
Nothing was baked into that cake.
Nothing was so basically here.
Uh the market sell-off is Obama fear-based.
There's no question.
I know some of the economic numbers continue to be bad, but see, yet then money says, no, no, no, no, there's no recession, no depression, everything's everything's fine.
Here's uh first of a couple soundbites with Carl Cameron.
This is last night uh on the O'Reilly factor.
Early on, they began to discover that there were these gaps in her knowledge.
And I just want to rattle off a couple of the things that insiders say she just simply didn't know.
There were real problems with basic civics, government structures, municipal, state, and federal government responsibilities.
She didn't know the the nations involved in the North American free trade agreement, were told.
She didn't understand McCain aides told me today that Africa was a continent and not a country, and actually asked them, they argue, they say, if South Africa wasn't just part of the country as opposed to a country in the continent.
They go on to say that she didn't understand the idea of American exceptionalism, a classic principle of Wilsonian doctrine that says that the United States is exceptional in the world and has therefore a very special role in leading the globe.
I don't believe any of this.
And what kills it for me is that she didn't understand American exceptionalism, she's the only one in the McCain campaign who did understand American exceptionalism and had to drag the rest of the campaign kicking and screaming into the concept.
We never heard about American exceptionalism from our own party until Sarah Palin showed up.
This South Africa, not knowing the countries in Africa, uh not knowing how the federal government works.
She's governor of Alaska for crying out loud.
That this is this is just a smeared job.
She is being smeared worse than anybody in the McCain campaign went after Obama or any of his questionable allies.
There are stories that say she would look at her press clippings in the morning and throw what has been described to me as tantrums.
One of the more infamous stories that's now come out is there was a time when McCain staffers went to collect her at her hotel room, and she had just stepped out of the shower and essentially met them wrapped in a bathrobe.
They were taken aback by that.
They have suggested that she's a bit of a shopaholic, and that on more than one occasion she would go out and buy clothes that to many seemed unnecessary because the campaign had already provided her with a very large wardrobe.
Uh a wardrobe that famously rang up a bill of about 150,000, mostly because they bought extra sizes to make sure everything fit.
So this is Carl Cameron last night on Fox, detailing what had been told to him.
Carl Cameron, by the way, the voice of the McCain insiders, uh, I should point out.
Uh so they're dumping on Sarah Palin, and you have to ask yourself why.
Who benefits from this happening to Sarah Palin?
And welcome back.
It's Rush Limbaugh, this, the excellence in broadcasting network.
You know, you might ask, why is Carl Cameron spewing all this stuff?
Okay, so somebody inside the McCain campaign reports it to him, but why does he spew all this stuff out there?
I guess they have a scoop.
I don't know, but it just this is it's quite telling.
It is quite uh instructive here, ladies and gentlemen, as if we conservatives aren't angry enough with Obama and McCain.
The fact is we're gonna have to defeat them both now, all over again.
So I'm just gonna warn you there's gonna be a McCain somebody comprehensive immigration bill, uh, which will result in the uh migration of more non-paying Democrat voters.
There's also this I cannot believe, and I'm gonna deal with this as the program unfolds before your very eyes and ears today.
There is even on our side, the wizards of smart on our side are all out there talking about how Obama's gonna govern from the center.
They have learned nothing.
I I don't even think that this is wishful thinking or hopefulness.
I think it's pure ignorance that Obama's gonna govern from the Senate.
They say, well, Rush, there won't be anything to tax, the market's tanking.
Uh, there won't be any profits to apply capital gains taxes to.
You think it's gonna stop them?
Do we have any d any idea the hordes, the Obama hordes that are going to end up populating Washington and the government and the internet?
Shortly after he takes office, if not before, let me give you an example.
Let me just give you an example.
I made a joke yesterday, actually, Diana Schneider, the editrix of the limbow letter, called Snerdley on Tuesday night, and said, Hey James, see all that noise that look out your window.
Republicans are rioting over Obama's victory.
Of course, we don't riot.
They are rioting in San Francisco and in parts of California over the uh proposition eight having been passed that bans gay marriage.
And so guess what?
Now, in addition to all these marches and they're not yet rioting, I guess, but they're assembling.
Los Angeles and San Francisco city attorneys are now challenging this ban as unconstitutionally, ACLU is part of the lawsuit.
And let me tell you what's going to happen here.
You can sit there, and I'm not trying to be pessimist or defeatist, folks.
I'm being realistic.
I'm trying to drum some sense into the people's heads who are supposedly on our own side.
These clowns out there saying that we're, well, he's going to deal with centrist Pelosi's out there.
Oh, sure, we're going to govern the centrists.
Depends on how you define it.
If extreme liberalism is the center now, remember, they don't even think their beliefs to be an ideology.
But what's going to happen here?
Doesn't matter what happens in court.
It doesn't matter what happens to the ACLU.
It doesn't matter.
Once Obama becomes president, he is going to either by executive order and executive fiat overrule this thing, or he's going to take the get it done in time with the appointment of judges to the uh to the various federal courts in California where this case will end up and the U.S. Supreme Court and eventually he'll get it done.
You think the will of the people matters to extreme radicals on the left?
The will of the people matters only as long as you can persuade them to go along with you, but once that stops, it doesn't matter.
So that's that's just one example of this how the the the uh governance from the center uh is is going to take place.
Let's two more sound bites here on Sarah Palin, and we'll move on.
This is from DNC TV this morning, Peter Alexander on uh Palin's shopping spree.
An angry McCain aid characterized the shopping spree as was Silla Hillbilly's looting Neiman Marcus coast to coast.
In fact, they may have spent as much as twenty to forty thousand dollars for clothes on Todd, twenty to thirty-five thousand dollars on clothes for the children, as one staffer had joked.
There were also some Gucci shoes being worn by those kids.
Now, this is just it's beyond the pale because this is our own party leaking to the drive-by media to destroy Sarah Palin.
This is uh the clear indication, my friends, of what is happening.
They're attacking Sarah Palin and they're the ones that picked her.
Or McCain did, they're destroying Sarah Palin, and you have to ask why, what possible benefit is it right now?
And the only benefit I can see is to make sure she doesn't rise again as a force for conservatism in the Republican Party.
There's no other reason to do this.
You could chalk it up, well, maybe they just personally don't like her, but that's fine and dandy, but this is suicidal.
And I'll tell you something else, the people that are doing this, it must really matter because they are running a huge risk of never getting hired again.
They're running a risk.
Somebody runs for office presidential candidate on the Republican side.
Why would you hire any of these people?
A, they're the architects of a huge defeat, and B, they're out now trying to destroy their own vice presidential nominee.
I I have an idea, one of the names, but I'm not going to mention it because I can't prove it, so I don't I don't know.
But it's obviously more than one person, and it's obviously somebody, somebody's doing this, whoever it is, has has uh has just shown stripes here.
This is mind blowing.
It's worse than I thought.
Here's Palin last night, herself, after she had uh landed back in Alaska and unidentified reporter asked uh her about all these allegations.
That's kind of a a small, um, evidently bitter type of person who would anonymously charge something foolish like that that I perhaps didn't know an answer to a question.
So until I know who who is talking about it, I won't have a comment on false allegations.
So that's Sarah Palin responding to it, trying to take the high road and stay above it.
She does raise an interesting point.
Why did this person just go out and blab everything to Carl Cameron and Fox?
Why not just go on camera with Carl Cameron?
Why not just put this out there in your own voice and with your own face on camera?
Go and do it on CNN, go do it on ABC.
Why do this on Fox?
Folks, there is there's uh this is quite telling the way this is all shaken out.
These operatives who are leaking uh this uh this this kind of people, these kind of news, the these are the people who work for moderate Republicans.
They will work for anyone who will pay them.
They are leaking to cover their own butts because they are failures.
They are the architects of the failure of this campaign.
Now there's something happened.
I didn't talk about it because I was trying to stay upbeat and positive.
The last thing I wanted to do was participate here in dispiriting you.
But there was a piece at the politico.com about two weeks before the election, and it was telling, especially Now looking at it in hindsight.
It was amazing.
It was a story filled with anonymous leaks, quotes from anonymous people on how horrible the McCain campaign was.
How rotten the candidate himself was.
All of these campaign aides were trying to cover their own rear ends.
They were going out there and blaming other campaign aids for things that went wrong.
The choice of Palin, why McCain looked like Yosemite Sam prancing around when the dynamite failed to go off at half the debates.
It was a circular firing squad, and it is quite it was at the time the way it was interpreted was okay, the campaign knows they're going to lose, and these staffers want to work on another campaign, so they're out there covering their bases, firing anonymous shots at all the other campaign staffers, blaming them and blaming him and blaming her and all that.
And the political story put out, okay, this first sign this thing's over.
McCain people know they're going to lose, so the campaign staff not trying to protect themselves.
That's what this Palin thing is in part.
This Palin thing, these these leakers are the kind of people who work for moderate Republicans.
They'll work for anybody who will pay them and they're leaking to cover their own butts now because they are failures.
That is precisely what is uh what is happening here.
Let me grab a quick phone call here.
We come back from the break which is coming up.
Remember Charlie Rose and uh and Brokaw.
In fact, Mike, I told you eight, nine and ten will be seven, eight, nine, and ten on the upcoming audio sound bites.
Uh Broca and Charlie Rose sitting around last Friday night, so who the hell's Obama?
We don't even know who he is.
We don't even know what kind of guy he is.
We don't do it's hilarious.
Yeah, we will uh play that and then three more in the same vein from other sources.
Jo Ann and Merritt, North Carolina, great to have you on the Rush Limbaugh program.
Hello.
Hi, Russ, I love you.
You get me off the ledge on a daily basis.
Thank you, madam.
I appreciate that.
All right, here's the thing.
But I tell you something, don't go to the ledge anymore because I myself don't like going out there.
Yeah, I know, I know.
It's a scary place, but uh at least I have your voice to talk me in off there.
Um this is what I'm thinking, and I want to know what you think.
Yeah.
Uh the last eight years have um mobilized the liberals like nothing I've ever seen.
And I'm just wondering if you think that the next four years of um the Messiah will get us organized, get us excited, um, get us back to our conservative roots and excitement.
I don't I don't think if you I've looked at the exit poll data.
I looked at McCain, uh twenty percent of conservatives voted for Obama.
The vast yes, vast majority of well, I'll explain why here just a second.
You said you don't believe it.
I do.
Yeah.
I do.
I also we have exit poll data I shared with you yesterday.
Forty-one percent of voters in exit polls identified themselves as conservatives as something like 29 to 30, maybe 31 percent identified themselves as liberals.
The rest did a wishy-washy moderates and independents, and I said they didn't know what they were, and so but I firmly bel I I can I could probably show you enough emails the past six months from people to me that constitute the 20% of conservatives who didn't vote for McCain.
There these are people saying I want lose.
I want I you know that I can't vote for the guy.
I cannot vote for the guy, and I'm not gonna vote against somebody.
I I can't vote for this guy, and the Republicans need to be taught a lesson, and so there's a there was a lot of that sentiment out there, and uh I firmly believe it.
Well, do you believe that it's gonna that it it will mobilize us?
Do you think that people are gonna get back to the real seriously?
Yes, yes, yes, but it's gonna depend, it's gonna depend on something crucial.
Because if the party's up to you, it is up entirely up to you.
I leave this entirely on your shoulders.
Yeah.
Okay.
Yes, that's exactly right.
I don't dispute that.
You're entirely true uh and accurate about that, but beyond me, if this party I'll do my part.
No, no, no.
I promise you all the fences with you.
Look at if this if this party, this is the battle, we're gonna be taking on two things here the next four years Obama and our own party establishment.
If if our party nominates another McCain type, well I don't think they uh Who's left?
I don't think they can.
I I just don't see anybody coming to and and and fighting that fight.
Do you?
Even if it's not true.
Sadly Sadly are more of them than I'd like to admit.
But even when even if we nominate uh, say a Bobby Gindle.
I love him.
I do too.
I love him.
Uh not in a biblical sense, but I I do too.
Well, right.
Well, not meaning a married woman.
But the thing the thing is that the moderate establishment GOP is going to be out to destroy Bobby Gendal, too.
You know, is that you really think so?
Because I'm starting to get a little bit more.
What are they trying to do to Sarah Palin?
They're scared to death that Sarah Palin will also run in two thousand twelve.
That's what this is all about.
They're trying to destroy her within the Republican Party.
She was more popular than McCain.
These people are not learning.
Anyway, I gotta run here.
Joanne, get off the ledge, and I don't want to go back out there myself.
By the way, folks, no s notice one thing here.
When these moderate Republicans, when these McCain staffers go after Sarah Palin, they're not going after her ideas, are they?
They're not trashing her ideas.
No, no, no, no, no.
They're not trashing her support for low marginal tax rates, are they?
They're not they're not trashing her ideas on immigration.
They're not trashing her ideas on energy, which are better than McCain's.
They can't go after her views because going after her views would go after the Republican base, and they still want to pretend that they're interested in the Republican base, so they're trashing her personally.
They're trashing her as a person because that's all they have left.
Not even Bob Schrum was this low.
Bob Schrum is a perennial loser on the Democrat side, managing Republic or Democrat presidential campaigns.
And not even he went after the people that worked with him in in this in this way.
Now you might also say, hey, i if they'd have won, it would have been all different.
I don't think so.
I do not think so.
I this is personal.
I think if they had won, there would still be an effort against Palin right now to get her off the ticket and get somebody else in there as vice president if they had won.
I am I I and I'll tell you something else we need to do.
As long as we're on the subject here, we didn't even pick our nominee.
Can we remember this?
We did not pick the nominee.
The Democrats and the media picked our nominee.
What you people in the McCain campaign and everywhere else need to start doing in the Republican Party, close our primaries in states that you have them open where Democrats can also an independence cross over and select our nominee.
The Democrats hated Operation Chaos.
Remember that they state that this is this is uh unconstitutional.
This is a horrible there was nothing.
This is one small attempt to duplicate what they've been doing for years selecting our nominee.
So I'll make a deal.
Democrats picked a Democrat nominee, Republicans picked the Republican nominee.
We don't need Democrats and the meeting me in the media picking both nominees.
And that is what has happened here.
Now look it.
I've run out of time here to play these sound bites.
That's what I meant.
There's a lot to do on this program.
It's unfolding very fast, these sound bites about who is Obama.
But these are juicy.
We'll save them for the monologue segment at the top of the next hour.
Here's Bart in uh Manahawkin, New Jersey.
Great to have you, sir, on the Rush Limbaugh program.
Hey Rush, how are you doing?
Yes, sir, fine.
Good, good.
Uh I've been listening to you since uh you had Gorbasms and caller um uh abortions, so I I loved it.
But uh listen, I wanted to bring up a point.
They uh the moderates who were running uh McCain's campaign by saying that Sarah Palin isn't uh wasn't a great pick uh and that she has all these problems and so forth.
Aren't they basically saying that John McCain uh made a terrible choice there for vice presidents?
There's something wrong with his pick.
Well yeah, you could.
Have we already established a problem there?
Uh long before the pick up.
I mean, that's I don't want to pile on Senator McCain here.
We don't know that Senator McCain is the one doing the dumping.
He all we know is he's not renouncing his own people who are dumping on her.
Uh you know, why did why why didn't whoever did this pick some other network?
Why'd they dump on Fox and why in you know Fox allowing itself to be used like this?
Oh, sure.
Fox Fox is the one, you know, Fox obviously goes to more more conservatives and and Republicans than they do to uh to the other side.
Well that's why they picked them.
Yeah, I look at course you d throw in McCain's judgment on this, but he's out there, he did defend her.
He defended her quite a bit whenever there she came under attack during the campaign.
He hasn't spoken up since.
All right, look, uh, thanks for the call.
DNC TV is now saying it.
Rom Emanuel accepts the job as enforcer, consiglieri uh in the Obama White House, chief of staff.
I want to give our guys are out there saying this is a bad news.
Uh, this guy's a thug.
This guy's the most partisan guy's gonna shape the shape the uh the White House.
It's a di there's no governing from the center here.
That's all true.
But this pick may be smarter than you think.
Rom Emanuel is Jewish.
This sends a signal to Arabs.
Remember the all the Arabs were the Arabs and and uh and the Muslims gonna be happy.
And now all of a sudden the guy determining White House policy inside the place is Jewish.
Not gonna be pleasing to the Arabs.
So now the drive-by media trying to figure out who Obama is.
