Genius time savers to shape hours off your busy day.
Getting it done faster.
Conquer the grocery store in 10 minutes.
How to pack a 30-minute workout into just four minutes.
That's microfiber towel.
It'll cut your drying time down from the first meal to one minute healthy breakfast that practically cooks itself to the last.
The three best one pan meals you can make in five minutes, probably.
A time saving Dr. Oz.
Coming up next.
Are you ready to save some lives today?
I love you, Dr. Oz.
Oh, oh, oh.
Stop what you're doing right now because in the next hour, we're gonna do what we have never done before.
We're gonna give you the gift of time.
Time to sleep, time to reconnect with your friends, even some much needed me.
Your entire day is about to get a whole lot easier because today I'm revealing the genius time savers that science says can shave hours off your busy day.
Now I've created an efficiency lab.
I love this.
An efficiency lab with the people who know how to make every nanosecond count.
They've cracked the code to getting out the door faster in the morning with radio host Carolina Bermudez.
Cleaning your house in half the time with good housekeeping, and you know what they're talking about.
And with breaking a show record today, we're gonna show you how to pack a 30-minute workout into just four minutes, four minutes.
With New York Jazz Cornerback Buster Scream, plus Chef Roblay's got these incredible fail-proof dinners that can hit your cable in less than 10 minutes, and they're so good.
Let's kick it off with your biggest time struggle, your mornings.
Which can be mayhem in every household.
So I've challenged my experts to give you as many time-saving hacks they could in just 60 seconds.
Take a look.
Thank you.
Here's a fast way to make your bed in the morning.
Make it while you're still in it.
When you wake up in the morning, set up straight, and just straighten everything out while you're still sitting in the bed.
And if you have time, put the throw pillows back on.
But don't worry, in the morning, done is better than perfect.
This is the ultimate time-saving tool, the squeegee.
Spend just 30 seconds wiping down the glass and the tiles after you shower, and you'll never get that mold and soap scum buildup.
So you won't have to waste a Saturday doing the deep clean.
Every morning I wake up at 3 45.
The first thing I do is come out to brew my cup of coffee.
Now I know I have about four minutes for it to brew entirely, so I use that time to do some light stretching.
I have a very cool cooking trip for you.
Check it out.
I make egg whites in the flash using this cool trick.
Just crack your eggs into a bowl and suck out the yolk like this with an empty water bottle.
Voila, egg whites in 45 seconds flat.
Who says you don't have time for a healthy egg breakfast?
Those 60 seconds, just shave 29 minutes in your morning.
All hour long, we're gonna be keeping track of the time saved.
I'll keep building on that number.
I'm gonna come true on making sure you save the time we're promising.
Morning radio show host, Carlita Bumidas, good friend is here.
She actually wakes up earlier than me.
She's up at 3 45 every morning.
How do you make every second count at that crazy hour?
Well, yeah, I mean you mentioned it.
So every night before I go to bed, I put a bottle of water right next to my sink.
I know that I can take my vitamins.
Yes, yeah.
And not only that, I know that I consume 25 ounces of water before I even leave the door.
So I have to have everything down to the very last detail.
So you've got a hack for us.
You're gonna start off with dealing with wrinkles, which I'm told can save you seven minutes every morning.
Say goodbye to the iron, guys.
It's gonna blow your mind.
This is the one second, one second wrinkle release.
Show it to us.
That's right.
Okay, so nobody has time to iron in the morning, and so what I do is I always have a bottle of this wrinkle release spray.
And what I do is I spray it on my clothing, and it has these fiber relaxers.
So basically what you do is you spray it on, and then you just have to stretch the shirt out.
I pop it in my shower while I'm showering, and the steam also helps to release the wrinkles, and that's what makes it so much easier.
Nobody has time to iron every single morning.
Oh, who wants to bother anyway?
Well, you don't want to look like a mess when you show up at work either.
So I've got a before and after for you guys to see, which is pretty spectacular.
There's the before.
We actually did this with this spray.
Yes.
Look at that.
Now here's why it works.
The fibers and the sprays soak into the clothes and it makes the fibers more slippery.
You know how a nonstick pan has that little gliding surface?
This is basically making your clothes, the fibers like a nonstick pan.
So they naturally open up if you hang just for a few minutes.
Yep, that's right.
Next, we got a one-minute, one-minute healthy breakfast that practically cooks itself.
And Carlina, God bless you, you experimented with this.
Yes.
And she tried four different breakfast meals to find out which is the fastest.
There are the four options there.
So walk me through them, which one you have a your takeout.
That's not gonna be best.
Oh no, yeah, you definitely not the drive-thru.
So I did overnight oats, I did a breakfast smoothie, I did an omelet, and of course, I tried the drive-thru.
Now the winner was the overnight oats.
It was.
Yes, the overnight oats.
I love that.
We're definitely number one.
But you know, when you do a breakfast smoothie, it takes so long to cut the different fruit and then also to clean the blender, and also the omelet was the same as well with the cleanup time.
Uh the dry-through added more time to my commute.
So the overnight oats, definitely a winner.
Can we can I taste it?
Absolutely.
I hope we're gonna do it.
Just give it a taste.
Give it a taste.
This is what I talk, you know, real fast delivery here.
I I'm a big fan of it's you know what crazy thing is.
It tastes so good.
It does.
But so easy.
Real quickly, you got the oats here.
Yes, definitely.
So I use almond milk, I use uh still-cut oats, chia seeds, I add some fruit, also a little bit of shredded coconut, almond extract, and you can do this on a Sunday night.
You can prep your breakfast for every single day of the week.
You pop it in the fridge, and it takes about a minute to heat up if you want it heat up.
I'd have this for dinner too.
Absolutely.
How long does it make this?
About nine minutes on a Sunday.
And then I'm done for the week.
A minute a day, pretty much.
Yeah.
All right, that takes us to a total of 45 minutes, everyone.
45 minutes of time saved over there.
Next up is drying your hair.
Now, I personally don't have a big deal with my hair getting dry.
But I've learned, having talked to a lot of you guys, it is the most time-consuming part of any beauty regimen.
So I've asked Brooke to join us.
Hello.
That is beautiful hair brook.
I mean, really.
Stop it.
Stop it.
Please tell me more.
Stop it.
Oh, how long does it take to get those beautiful locks to look like that?
Approximately 22 minutes, but I have long, thick hair, as you can see, so I have to section it.
It's a whole process.
You got a speed dry.
I do.
I think every woman needs to have this in her bathroom, and it is a microfiber towel.
Now, if you put this microfiber towel on your hair after you wash it, it will absorb most of that water that is still in your hair.
So it'll cut your drying time down quite a bit.
Yeah.
Now, normally, your hair was taking 22 minutes.
Yes.
To look like this.
So it looked like all this.
After the microfiber towel, let's go to the video tape.
Here she is doing it herself, right?
And it took her, because it's already dry when she starts, only 17 minutes.
Only 17 minutes.
Again, having that extra service area pays off.
Totally.
And it looks fantastic.
Thank you.
Why waste five minutes?
Yeah, well, let me tell you what I did with my five minutes because I never get that time.
I ate a snack and went to sleep.
You might yell at me because I ain't a snack before bed, but you know, you gotta do it.
The sleep was working.
Yeah, totally.
Adding your five minutes to the 45, you already had saved 50 minutes so far.
We have saved.
Up next, we're going to the good housekeeping cleaning lab to show you how you can get a germ-free home in half the time.
She found the man of her drinks.
Everything was too good to be true.
But something just wasn't right.
He wanted to get married within the second date.
Then he tried to kill her daughter.
He was stabbing me.
Could you be dating a sociopath and not know it?
And conquering your fears to move forward.
You can't be creative if you're depleted.
A lot of potential you didn't know you had, so you can live the life you deserve.
Oh, noise.
That's coming up tomorrow.
Thank you.
That is porn for neat freaks.
It's porn.
You guys love that?
It's also called chore.
I'm gonna start doing it at home like this.
Now I'm revealing the best genius tools that will make cleaning paintless.
And what's even better, these are all under $10.
We went inside.
That's right.
If it costs a lot of money, you're not gonna do it.
Under $10.
We went inside the Good Housekeeping Institute's cleaning lab to see what they've been testing.
Take a look, guys, because they do not mess around.
Hi, Dr. Oz.
Maggie Murphy here inside the Good Housekeeping Institute.
And I rated our cleaning lab and got all of our expert picks to create the ultimate time-saving toolkit for you.
Paper towels, glass cleaner, your duster, a squeegee, all purpose cleaner, your magic erasers, toilet bowl cleaner, two kinds of scrub brushes, your disinfectant wipes, microfiber cloths, gloves, you name it, all in one convenient place.
This is all you need to clean house in a jiffy.
Executive editor of Good Housekeeping, Megan Murphy is here.
She's already put some audience members to work in our efficiency test lab to find out what's the quickest way between messy spells and stains on countertops and mirrors.
How's it going back there, guys?
Woo!
And they got their tools in their hands.
No, they're competitive.
So we can reveal those results in just one moment.
But first, we've surveyed you to identify the chore that takes up most of your time.
And you have told us over and over again it's the laundry.
Forty-six percent of you say it's the laundry.
What's the number one laundry hack?
If we're gonna save time, everyone should know.
Have two laundry baskets.
That is the secret.
One for your whites and one for your darks, so that you don't waste time sorting.
And a and a bin's ten bucks or less, guys.
Exactly.
And it's that simple.
Right.
The other thing that I know people are fighting over is whether they should fold their laundry or not.
Okay, so here's a little secret.
I roll my t-shirts.
I think it saves a lot of times because they don't get wrinkled.
So you just fold it in half, flip the sleeve, roll, roll, roll, roll, roll.
It's less likely to wrinkle, do it right out of the dryer.
Plus, you save a ton of space in your drawer.
You do that also?
Oh, I roll everything.
Pretty fast, though.
Everything.
The fast roller.
Let's check back with our experiment.
See how far the test has gone.
The good housekeeping did an extensive experiment on this.
And we have recreated it here.
So come on out, guys.
What don't you guys test?
Okay, so we looked at three different cleaning methods to get rid of typical counter grease.
Let me help you here.
One second.
Organize you.
You stand there.
Explain this.
Okay, so we use wipes, spray, and the magic eraser on standard kitchen grease.
So which do you think was the most effective?
Let's get at it, ladies.
What are we cleaning with?
So the wipe, how's it going?
Not too good.
And she's using a lot of elbow grease, wasting a ton of time.
And energy.
And energy.
I better help you.
So the spray cleaner, also not getting the job done, wasting a ton of time and energy.
The Mr. Clean Magic Eraser.
Woo!
I have to say this is a favorite of the good housekeeping cleanup.
It is a seal star.
It has been rigorously vetted, and it gets out anything.
Look at that!
You want to go.
It's truly like magic.
You can use it on cray or on crayon on fingerprints.
I walk around my house like this.
Okay, guys.
Okay, guys.
I've got three kids, and this is my best.
I am fascinated by this.
I know.
And it doesn't use a ton of elbow grease.
You can use it in the bathroom.
You can use it on scopes, soak it.
But you know what I like?
You're right.
It gets the grout clean.
So I looked this up.
This stuff hardens the glass.
And it becomes when it's wet and it becomes like sandpaper.
But without damaging.
See, it's not damaging topics.
It's a melamine foam, typically used in insulation.
And some genius 10 years ago figured out you can also clean with it.
Wow.
So will this change the way you clean?
Of course.
I want this house.
Loan it to her.
Okay.
Enough time on that spray over there.
What does this cost?
How much time?
I know, look at that.
Look at that.
I mean, you're getting an arm workout, so that's the plus.
But you're wasting a ton of time.
And the amount of time theoretically you would save with this.
Oh my gosh, at least nine minutes or more.
Look at that, Dr. Ox.
I would never have thought to use this.
And I got definitely learned something.
All right, so now so far, add the 19 minutes to the hour we saved in the first segment.
It's an hour 19 so far.
Up next.
I mean.
Get in and out of the grocery store in 10 minutes.
You're gonna like it.
Thank you, Dr. Oswald.
It's become the new It Health Trend.
We investigate why are so many people using magnesium and blackish star Anthony Anderson.
You're a walk in time bomber.
Not today, but eventually.
Here I am today talking about my diabetes.
All new Oz.
That's coming up on Friday.
We'll be right back.
The average trip to the grocery store can take up about as much time as an episode of Empire.
You get better things to do with your time.
So I'm sharing the three time-saving tricks.
You need to conquer the grocery store in 10 minutes.
Plus, the surprising way to outsmart the checkout lines.
My grocery efficiency experts are here to save you time and money.
Financial expert Farnoosh Taravi and Chef Robe Ali are here.
Now the first way to conquer the grocery store is to choose the right parking space.
So we got a nice little store here, grocery store, right?
And you argue that the right parking space may not be what you think it is.
Right.
So Dr. Oz, the parking lot is a huge time trap.
And here's why.
So, okay, if we're looking at the grocery store, we all want to be as close to the grocery store as possible.
So what do we do?
We find the parking lot that at the nearest spot.
So we circle and circle and circle, because this is the most concentrated part of the parking lot.
Chances are we're gonna waste gas, we're gonna waste time, we're not gonna get that sweet spark parking spot anytime soon.
So the best thing to do is to go a little bit further back to a lane that's maybe, you know, a few yards back.
It seems counterintuitive, but you'll actually save time by finding the first available spot.
Do this all the time.
Know this area and go to it right away.
It can save you about five minutes getting to the grocery store.
See, I thought I was only one.
I was I always pray for parking karma.
Yeah.
But it just doesn't happen.
If it's not happening, you can, you know, and just know that the gas is getting wasted, time is getting wasted.
Another time-saving activity at the grocery store is to shop early in the week.
So Mondays and Tuesdays are the lightest traffic days.
Saturday afternoon, the worst, right, Chef?
I'm staying away on the weekends.
So many crowds on Saturday afternoon.
And here's another tip.
Go before 8 a.m. after 6 p.m.
If you can shop within that time frame, you'll save about 15 minutes checking out.
The evenings are better.
Yeah.
Well, I've got to get the product.
After work.
So the next way to conquer the grocery store is the Delhi drop-off area.
The deli county where you go get your food.
You had to wait in line.
So, Chef Robe, explain your secret here.
Well, when I go to the Delhi, I always have a little list written out.
So, you know, if it's busy, you take a number, but as soon as I'm talking to the associate, I'll hand off my list, say, hey, you know what?
Take care of this.
I'll be back as soon as I can.
You know, so you're not just sitting there doing nothing, you know, like as a chef, like we don't have we don't have a whole lot of time, so standing around can't happen.
How many of you guys knew you could do that even?
How come you're not telling me this stuff, Roblay?
It adds up.
Next time savers to organize your shopping list by categories.
This is another big one, Chef Robet.
Oh, yeah, absolutely.
Like, you know, I go shopping a lot, so um, when I'm writing my list, um, actually now just like write it on my phone.
Um, I I think about the way that the grocery store is laid out.
It's in different sections.
The aisles are in the different categories.
So I just imagine my way through the grocery store.
So everything section is thought out first, you're gonna save a lot of time in the long run.
So we tried this out with two busy moms.
Each had the same exact items on their grocery list.
Only one of the lists was categorized.
There they are.
Beth is there.
She had an uncategorized regular list.
Come on over.
Beth, you stuck up on me.
Hey.
So you had the uncategorized list there.
Yes, how did that work for you?
Ah, I was it was a little crazy.
I was zigzagging all over the store.
And so it took me probably about 15 minutes.
You look so much better rested, by the way.
Thank you.
And that worked better.
Oh, Beth, she was zipping all over the place.
I got done in 10 minutes.
I kicked her butt.
Did make you jealous, Beth.
When I got there, I thought that I won and I was all happy, and then I realized that she had been there for five minutes and did you cover her list?
A little bit.
A little bit.
So we measured it out.
You say five minutes.
What?
And it all adds up.
Five minutes is a lot of time.
Just picking your stuff off the shelter.
So it's starting to make a difference for us.
Next time saver is to conquer the checkout line.
So come on over here.
Thank you very much.
I appreciate you both.
So I'm sitting here ready to check out.
Yeah.
And I'm thinking to myself, where is the best place to go?
Which line?
I know you're all playing the same game with me.
We get there, we're looking in, it's like picking the right toll booth.
And sometime checkout takes forever.
The person in front of you've got a bunch of stuff, there are a lot of people there.
You say the person that you get behind matters a lot, and it may not be the person you think it should be.
Right.
This may shock you.
It's kind of counterintuitive.
So typically we see someone ahead of us with a huge shopping cart.
We're like, oh no, not getting behind this person.
I'm gonna go somewhere else with fewer items.
But this is actually the best person to get behind versus a little bit of a longer line where people have maybe five to ten items each.
Why?
Well, every time a person arrives at the checkout counter, the cashier has to greet them, check in all the items, right?
Then it's time to pay.
Where's my wallet?
Where's my coupon?
How does this credit card machine work?
All of those things take time.
And a study actually found that getting behind a cart with 100 items, you know, that cart takes about six minutes to process.
Versus four carts with 20 items each, that takes seven minutes.
So actually, this takes only six minutes, saves you about a minute checking out the grocery store.
Chef Robet, a chef's trick to get to the checkout line.
Well, we already started by shopping in categories.
So when I pull up when it's and it's time for my stuff to go on that little conveyor belt, I like to unpack it myself and I unpack it in categories.
So like all my frozen stuff is gonna stay together.
All my meat, fish, all that kind of stuff, I want to keep it together.
Like cleaning supplies, I want to keep keep together.
I don't want cleaning supplies next to my chicken.
Right.
You know, keep them separate.
And then you're also helping the person that's checking you out.
And another thing is, okay, now you're on your way home.
Let's say you have to make a couple of stops.
You created a little freezer/slash refrigerator by keeping all your cold stuff together.
And then when you get home and you're unpacking, are your stuff is sectioned out then too?
Are your freezer stuff in the freezer, refrigerated, in the refrigerator, or your cleaning stuff under the sink?
So you know, keep everything together.
I never thought about that.
It makes too much sense.
If you do these tips, everybody, you'll save 41 minutes.
41 minutes in your grocery shopping time.
That brings us to two hours of total time saved so far in the show.
And we're only halfway through.
So stay with us to find out how much more time we will save.
Up next, Chef Robles got the ultimate one-pan meals that will change your dinner game forever.
Up next, Chef Robles Before you order another pizza, I'm counting down the three best one-pan meals that will save any weeknight dinner.
Now they're all under 20 minutes, and best of all, they are infinitely customizable.
So your taste buds, they'll never be bored again.
Chef Roblay's back, and we're gonna start with number three on our list.
This is a no-baked lasagna that's gonna blow your minds.
That's right, it's no bacon, and even better, it only takes 10 minutes.
Am I right?
10 minutes.
10 minutes.
Check this out from our friends at BuzzFeed's Tasting.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Now, Chef Roblet says this is a game changer for sad dinners.
He's gonna explain how it works, but I want you to say you actually hacked the hack.
You made this a little spicier.
Yeah, well, actually, well, first, I'm not a real big fan of microwaves.
I only use mine to heat up water into melt butter.
Right?
But I saw this, and this is actually cool, and it's very tasty.
I tried it.
So I just you know tweaked it a little bit.
Um I added in some fresh basil.
Um, fresh herbs are always the way to go.
Just adds, you know, brightness, character, and brings life to the dish.
Then also, I like a little bit of heat, so some crushed red pepper flake.
You mix some of that in, you get like little sporadic bites of heat.
I got one of them.
Yeah.
It was really good.
Matt, come on over.
Matt's member of our bike club, how are you?
Thanks for joining us.
Thank you.
So, what you what do you think about this hack?
It was great.
Um, I was kind of skeptical about putting it in a microwave, but once I tried it, it came out.
It was great for lunch for the next day.
Yeah, it's it's the no-baked noodles.
Yeah.
They're soft.
Yeah.
I thought they're gonna be crunchy, they wouldn't quite get it.
It's I mean it's so crazy.
And I you need the lid on when you microwave, is that right?
Yeah.
I was trying to save for the next day, but my coworker finished it for me.
There you go.
Isn't that amazing?
Yes, I knew it was good.
But yeah, one thing, you had the lid on, but make sure it's cracked a little bit because you know, some steam is gonna want to escape, so you don't want the lid to pop off in the microwave.
Just make sure you crack it just a little bit so the While it's microwaving, yeah.
Yes, while it's microwaving, yes.
All right, and then so then when you take it off, there's nothing, there's no steam in there then.
Uh maybe a little bit, but you want to make sure the steam has a way to get out, otherwise you might have like something blow up in your microwave.
You don't want that.
The kids will do that.
Yeah, yeah.
Thanks for making this.
Next up on our countdown number two, it's a five-minute meal that you can do four ways.
Take a look.
Hey, that is really cool.
I definitely can even make it more efficient.
Yes.
So just to make it a little bit more restaurant quality, I like to thicken the sauce.
Like, you know, if you go to like a Chinese restaurant, you don't you you don't want something that that's just gonna be watery.
Oh yeah, look at that.
It's gonna run off.
So you use a little bit of corn starch to thicken the sauce.
You can make a big batch.
I have sauces on deck in my fridge right now.
I come home, I'll saute something like this up, finish it with some sauce, all done.
So why doesn't everyone have something in their fridge with these sauces in it?
I don't know.
I hope we're helping them now, because I surely have some in mine.
How many of you have a sauce like this already ready to go in an emergency at home?
Hands up.
Oh my goodness.
You have changed people's lives.
You have Jeffroy has done it again.
All right, finally, it's time for number one on our weeknight dinner countdown.
It's tasty's most popular.
I'll say it again, it's their most popular one-pot dish.
Creamy chicken bacon pesto pasta.
Listen, oh,
and getting hungry.
The audience is getting hungry.
Explain why you want to boil the noodles in milk rather than water.
Well, you know, the the noodles are gonna absorb whatever you boil them in, right?
So for something like this that we want to be like rich and creamy, why do water which is uh watery when you can have your noodles absorb milk, which is gonna add that rich creamy deliciousness.
Right, so now you have customized this.
You added two ingredients apple smoke Thick cut bacon.
Right, right, right.
Which I wasn't gonna endorse, but it sounds so good.
And then kale instead of the spinach.
Yes, because uh the kale is a really is the the more important one here because you know there is a process cooking here, right?
So baby spinach is very delicate and it just kind of falls apart.
But this kale, which is a much more nutritious, and it's also has more fiber and it'll stand up to the cooking process.
So by the time it's done, it'll be like perhaps like the perfect texture.
As opposed to the little crunch, some body left over instead of some mushrooms.
And what about the bacon?
Well, I mean bacon.
Bacon is kind of self-explanatory there, right?
Like get a good apple smoked stick cut bacon.
That's what that's the only little tweaks I had on this recipe.
All right.
We're gonna put a cheat sheet of these hacks and recipes on Dr. Oz.com.
I'm gonna thank my friends at BuzzFeeds Tasty for all their videos.
Audience, who wants some of this?
Yeah.
Let's go on over there.
Pastor, we'll be right back, everybody.
She found the man of her dreams.
He wanted to get married within the second date.
Then he tried to kill her daughter.
He was stabbing me.
Could you be dating a sociopath and not know it?
All new oz.
That's coming up tomorrow.
Just looking at the line in this busy waiting room, give you anxiety.
Right?
Just sitting at that.
Now, today, nurses secret time savers at the doctor's office to get you in and out like this.
Because remember, nurses are the official timekeepers of every doctor's office.
Nurse Alice Benjamin is joining us.
She's also known as America's favorite nurse.
And I'll admit that I hate waiting around in lines.
I'm just gonna show you an example, not in a doctor's office.
This is me waiting in line at the DMV earlier this year.
See how happy I look?
Right.
No one else is happy either.
So nurse Nurse Alice, in defense of all the docs like me out there.
Why is it that sometimes we run behind?
What's what's messing up our schedule?
So docks like you are always late because people are so excited to see you.
They've seen their Google doctor, and now they have some time to talk to you, and now they want to get all their real questions answered.
But point's also run behind because sometimes someone's coming in with signs and symptoms of a stroke, a heart attack, or something urgent.
So those people get to cut the line regardless of what their appointment time is.
I wish it was that predictable.
So for that reason, you but you sometimes are doing what we don't want to do, which is run late.
On average, how much time does the patient have to wait in their office?
The average time is about 20 minutes.
Now, it's not always, sometimes it's shorter, and sometimes it's also a little bit longer.
But again, it's because things are happening in the office, and you know, if someone's coming in with an urgent need, we're hopeful that everyone will understand that that person needs to be seen.
But you've got some secrets, some time savers for us all.
Right, you ready?
Yes.
The best time to come to the doctor's office turns out to be the early morning or after lunch.
Now, why is that?
That's because you're first on the list, right?
So if you're the first appointment of the day, the doctor's fresh, you're in there, you get to go in and out, no wait, right?
So that's perfect.
And then also the same rationale after lunch.
You reset.
Yes.
All right, now, best day of the week.
This is interesting, because you might think, oh, it doesn't make a difference.
They're seeing patients every day.
Not true.
What is the best day to book your appointment?
Best day is Wednesday, midweek.
And the reason being is because Mondays are very hectic days, right?
So much has gone on during the weekend, everyone's racing to get to the doctor, and they all want to be seen.
And the same thing with Friday, right?
So much has happened during the week.
People have procrastinated, and now they all want to be seen before the weekend comes.
Now, there's a no no-wait system.
I I didn't even know about this.
I I knew that it existed for some folks, but it turns out it's for everybody, for most people.
It's 24-hour nurse helplines, almost all insurance plans offer them.
If you don't have insurance, don't panic.
We our team was actually able to identify services for people who don't have any coverage at all.
So explain how these things work.
So I love this, right?
So oftentimes people want to have uh ask questions of their doctors.
They have don't know what to do, they're stuck.
So they can often ask questions about you know symptoms that they're having.
Or maybe they started a new medication and they're concerned about side effects, or maybe they want to try a new home remedy and want to know if it's safe.
Yeah.
They also want to know do I need to go in the doctor right now?
And it's a really a great resource that goes underutilized, so I want to encourage people to use it.
And insurance companies offer this, it saves them money.
Yes.
If they can answer your questions, you don't go see a doctor and make your experience a little better, it's better for everybody in the system.
So I again I didn't realize how widespread they are, so I'm happy this exists.
So we're gonna put the information about this 24-hour nurse helpline on our website with all our other efficiency hacks, so you can share them with all your buddies.
You can also go to my app, it's called Ask MD, that award-winning app to help you efficiently make sense of whatever symptoms are going on in your life.
That way, when you do talk to a nurse or to your doctor, right, you'll be able to tell them exactly what's going down because you kept track of it based on this really clever tracker of what's going on in your in your symptoms.
So, since there's no waiting line with this time saver, you've actually saved 20 minutes.
Because you don't have to go to the doctor's office to wait there.
That brings us to a total of three hours saved.
But wait, Dr. Oz.
Um, I have a few more questions.
More questions?
I need a tip.
I want to know what is the tip to seeing you and keeping you on time.
So what I did is I called the big guns and I called my expert, Miss Flora.
Flora's here?
Flora's here.
This is my boss.
She is here!
Look at her wall.
This is the woman.
So when I when I was a young resident training, and she was still already at Columbia.
I won't say how long you've been there, but you're already in Columbia.
She would always say, it's not your patient's not ready to have their chest closed yet.
You have to be like the Sahara Desert.
How would you say it?
I don't know.
I'm still saying so much for that.
I want to hear you.
Let me see your Sahara Desert.
So, the Sahara Desert, she wanted the chest to be so dry.
Yeah.
Because when people bleed after heart surgery, she wanted to be so dry that there'll be no bleeding over here.
No bleeding at all.
It's a dry and you can close.
No matter how busy you are, stay here.
Finish, make sure.
Okay.
I don't want the patient to come back.
You know, so many times I'm not enough to have the open.
I have to go to ICU.
Bring all the instruments, go over there, open the patient's chest.
That's it.
So that's why you'll stay here no matter how busy you are, no matter how fair you have to go, you'll have to catch the fence.
There she is, Flora.
God bless you.
All right, quite right back now.
Up next, we're trying to break a show record today with the fastest workout ever.
Bust the screen right here from the New York Jets.
It's gonna help us with a new four-minute workout to burn your fat faster.
Stick around.
We're breaking a show record today with the fastest workout ever.
A new four-minute workout to burn as much fat and calories as a 30-minute workout.
And teach us quarterback for the New York Jets and personal trainer, Bush the Screen is here.
Come on out.
There he is.
Oh my goodness, he is fit.
He is fit.
He's making the moves, he's making the moves, he's making the moves.
How are you?
Thanks for being here.
Four minutes, it's a big promise.
What makes you so passionate?
Why do you believe the four minutes will give you the benefits of your promising people?
Oh, I believe it'll give you the benefits that we've been promising because it's a quick workout.
Um, you're not stop moving the whole time.
And uh everybody knows if you do a hit workout or a high-intense interval training type of workout, once you're done working out, your metabolism's still running, you're still sweating.
So say if you do a hit workout opposed to jogging, you'll learn you'll lose the same amount of calories in a shorter amount of time.
That's the promise.
The question is, did it really happen?
So we asked one of you, a member of the audience, to put it to the test.
Earlier during the show, we asked Jessica to work out for 30 minutes.
Here she is, busting her tail, and then she worked out for four minutes.
For four minutes.
And Jessica's here.
How are you, Jessica?
Hey guys, how are you?
Thanks for joining us.
Thank you.
This is Buster's ID.
Talk me into it.
It's not my fault.
But I'm curious how it worked for you.
It was awesome.
So I did a high-intensity workout for four minutes.
It was hard.
Yeah.
And then I sat down for 26 minutes with my heart rate monitor on, and I burned 200 calories doing basically nothing.
I was on Facebook getting my hair done.
Yeah.
And that was because your heart rate had been so fast.
Yeah.
And it took a while to slow down.
So your body thinks you're still warming up.
And how about the 30-minute activity?
The 30-minute activity, you know, I couldn't get as much done.
I couldn't Facebook.
I couldn't get my hair and makeup done.
I was, I was moving.
So And your calorie burned?
I burned about the same.
The same?
Yeah.
So four minutes burn the same as 30 minutes.
You guys interested in this?
So I look at the research on this.
I'm gonna, everybody, four-minute workouts get your heart rate up so high that it takes a while for them to come back down so you continue to burn calories, playing on social media, cooking, doing whatever you want to do.
Which is what's so appealing for people who are busy.
I just ask you for four minutes.
Buster, will you show us?
Oh, all four minutes.
All right, come on, put bust you in the middle here.
All right.
So I'm gonna put four, I'm gonna put the put it up with the clock there, take us through it.
All right, so the first thing we're gonna do is three sets of jumping jacks.
So, first number that we're gonna do is just a regular jumping jack.
