|

Time Text
Genius time savers to shave hours off your busy day, getting it done faster.
Conquer the grocery store in 10 minutes.
How to pack a 30-minute workout into just four minutes.
That's microfiber towels.
It'll cut your drying time down.
From the first meal, the one-minute healthy breakfast that practically cooks itself to the last.
The three best one-pan meals.
You make in five minutes probably.
A time-saving Dr. Oz.
Coming up next.
Are you ready to say some lives today?
Yeah!
I love you, Dr. Oz.
What you're doing right now, because in the next hour, you're going to do what we have never done before.
We're going to give you the gift of time.
Time to sleep, time to reconnect with your friends, even some much-needed me time.
Your entire day is about to get a whole lot easier because today I'm revealing the genius time savers that science says can shave hours off your busy day.
Now, I've created an efficiency lab.
I love this.
An efficiency lab with the people who know how to make every nanosecond count.
They've cracked the code to getting out the door faster in the morning with radio host Carolina Brimidez.
Cleaning your house in half the time with good housekeeping.
And you know what they're talking about.
And we're breaking a show record today.
We're going to show you how to pack a 30-minute workout into just four minutes.
Four minutes.
With New York Jazz cornerback Buster Scream.
Plus, Jeff Robela's got these incredible fail-proof dinners that can hit your cable in less than 10 minutes and they're so good.
Let's kick it off with your biggest time struggle, your mornings, which can be mayhem in every household.
So I've challenged my experts to give you as many time-saving hacks they could in just 60 seconds.
Take a look.
Here's a fast way to make your bed in the morning.
Make it while you're still in it.
When you wake up in the morning, sit up straight and just straighten everything out while you're still sitting in the bed.
And if you have time, put the throw pillows back on.
But don't worry, in the morning, done is better than perfect.
This is the ultimate time-saving tool, the squeegee.
Spend just 30 seconds wiping down the glass and the tiles after you shower, and you'll never get that mold and soap scum buildup.
So you won't have to waste a Saturday doing a deep clean.
Every morning I wake up at 3.45.
The first thing I do is come out to brew my cup of coffee.
Now I know I have about four minutes for it to brew entirely, so I use that time to do some light stretching.
I have a very cool cooking trip for you.
Check it out.
I make egg whites in a flash using this cool trick.
Just crack your eggs into a bowl and suck out the yolk like this with an empty water bottle.
Voila, egg whites with 45 seconds flat.
Who says you don't have time for a healthy egg breakfast?
Those 60 seconds just save 29 minutes in your morning.
All hour long, we're going to be keeping track of the time saved.
I'll keep building on that number.
I'm going to come true on making sure you save the time we're promising.
Morning radio show host Carolina Brumudez, good friend is here.
She actually wakes up earlier than me.
She's up at 3.45 every morning.
How do you make every second count at that crazy hour?
Well, yeah, I mean, you mentioned it.
3.45 is so early and I have to be out my door by 4.40 a.m.
So every night before I go to bed, I put a bottle of water right next to my sink.
I know that I can take my vitamins.
Yes, yeah.
And not only that, I know that I consume 25 ounces of water before I even leave the door.
So I have to have everything down to the very last detail.
So you've got a hack for us.
You're going to start off with dealing with wrinkles, which I'm told can save you seven minutes every morning.
Say goodbye to the iron, guys.
It's going to blow your mind.
This is the one second, one second wrinkle release.
Show it to us.
That's right.
Okay, so nobody has time to iron in the morning.
And so what I do is I always have a bottle of this wrinkle release spray.
And what I do is I spray it on my clothing and it has these fiber relaxers.
So basically what you do is you spray it on and then you just have to stretch the shirt out.
I pop it in my shower while I'm showering and the steam also helps to release the wrinkles and that's what makes it so much easier.
Nobody has time to iron every single morning.
Oh, who wants to bother anyway?
Well, you don't want to look like a mess when you show up at work either.
So I've got a before and after for you guys to see, which is pretty spectacular.
There's the before.
We actually did this with the spray.
Yes.
Look at that.
Now here's why it works.
The fibers and the sprays soak into the clothes and it makes the fibers more slippery.
You know how a nonstick pan has that little gliding surface?
This is basically making your clothes, the fibers like a nonstick pan.
So they naturally open up if you hang just for a few minutes.
Yep, that's right.
Next, we got a one-minute, one-minute healthy breakfast that practically cooks itself.
And Carolina, God bless you, you experimented with this.
Yes.
And she tried four different breakfast meals to find out which is the fastest.
There are the four options there.
So walk me through them, which one if you have a takeout, that's not going to be best.
Oh, no, yeah, definitely not the drive-thru.
So I did overnight oats.
I did a breakfast smoothie.
I did an omelette.
And of course, I tried the drive-thru.
Now, the winner was the overnight oats.
It was.
Yes, the overnight oats.
We're definitely number one.
But, you know, when you do a breakfast smoothie, it takes so long to cut the different fruit and then also to clean the blender.
And also, the omelette was the same as well with the cleanup time.
The drive-through added more time to my commute.
So the overnight oats, definitely a winner.
You're Kim Hannah.
Can I taste it?
Absolutely.
I hope it's a good one.
Let's give it a taste.
Give it a taste.
This is what I talk, you know, real fast delivery here.
I'm a big fan.
It's, you know, crazy thing.
It tastes so good.
It does.
It's so easy.
Real quick, we got the oats here.
Yes, definitely.
So I use almond milk.
I use seal-cut oats, chia seeds.
I add some fruit, also a little bit of shredded coconut, almond extract.
And you can do this on a Sunday night.
You can prep your breakfast for every single day of the week.
You pop it in the fridge, and it takes about a minute to heat up if you want it.
Heat.
I have this for dinner too.
Absolutely.
How long does it take you to make this?
About nine minutes on a Sunday.
And then I'm done for the week.
A minute a day, pretty much.
Yeah.
All right, that takes us to a total of 45 minutes, everyone.
45 minutes of time saved go there.
Next up is drying your hair.
Now, I personally don't have a big deal with my hair getting dry, but I've learned, having talked to a lot of you guys, it is the most time-consuming part of any beauty regimen.
So I've asked Brooke to join us.
Hello.
That is beautiful hair broken.
I mean, really.
Stop it.
Stop it.
I love it.
Keep going.
How long does it take to get those beautiful locks to look like that?
Approximately 22 minutes, but I have long, thick hair, as you can see.
So I have to section it.
It's a whole process.
You've got to speed dry.
I do.
I think every woman needs to have this in her bathroom, and it is a microfiber towel.
Now, if you put this microfiber towel on your hair after you wash it, it will absorb most of that water that is still in your hair.
So it'll cut your drying time down quite a bit.
Now, normally, your hair was taking 22 minutes.
Yes.
It looked like this.
So it looked like all this.
After the microfiber towel, let's go to the videotape.
Here she is doing it herself, right?
And it took her, because it's already dry when she starts, only 17 minutes.
Only 17 minutes.
Again, pay, having that extra surface area pays off.
Totally.
And it looks fantastic.
Thank you.
Why waste five minutes?
Yeah, well, let me tell you what I did with my five minutes because I never get that time.
I ate a snack and went to sleep.
You might yell at me because I ate a snack before bed, but you know, you got to do that.
The sleep was working.
Yeah, totally.
Out of your five minutes to the 45 you already have saved.
50 minutes so far we have saved.
Up next, we're going to the Good Housekeeping Cleaning Lab to show you how you can get a germ-free home in half the time.
She found the man of her dreams.
Everything was too good to be true.
But something just wasn't right.
He wanted to get married within the second date.
Then he tried to kill her daughter.
He was stabbing me.
Could you be dating a sociopath and not know it?
And conquering your fears to move forward.
You can't be creative if you're depleted.
Unlock the potential you didn't know you had so you can live the life you deserve.
All nuise.
That's coming up tomorrow.
That is porn for neat freaks.
It's porn.
You guys love that?
It's also called chore plan.
I'm going to start doing it at home like this.
Now I'm revealing the best genius tools that will make cleaning painless.
And what's even better, these are all under $10.
We went inside.
That's right.
If it costs you a lot of money, you're not going to do it.
Under $10.
We went inside the Good Housekeeping Institute's cleaning lab to see what they've been testing.
Take a look, guys, because they do not mess around.
Hi, Dr. Oz.
Megan Murphy here inside the Good Housekeeping Institute.
And I raided our cleaning lab and got all of our expert picks to create the ultimate time-saving toolkit for you.
Paper towels, glass cleaner, your duster, a squeegee, all-purpose cleaner, your magic erasers, toilet bowl cleaner, two kinds of scrub brushes, your disinfectant wipes, microfibercloths, gloves, you name it, all in one convenient place.
This is all you need to clean house in a jiffy.
Executive editor of Good Housekeeping, Megan Murphy, is here.
She's already put some audience members to work in our efficiency test lab to find out what's the quickest way between messing spells and stains on countertops and mirrors.
How's it going back there, guys?
And they got their tools in their hands.
No, they're competitive.
So we're going to reveal those results in just one moment.
But first, we've surveyed you to identify the chore that takes up most of your time.
And you have told us over and over again, it's the laundry.
46% of you say it's the laundry.
What's the number one laundry hack if we're going to save time?
Okay.
Everyone should know.
Have two laundry baskets.
That is the secret.
One for your whites and one for your darks so that you don't waste time sorting.
And a bin's 10 bucks or less, guys.
Exactly.
And it's that simple, right?
The other thing that I know people are fighting over is whether they should fold their laundry or not.
Okay, so here's a little secret.
I roll my t-shirts.
I think it saves a lot of time because they don't get wrinkled.
So you just fold it in half, flip the sleeve, roll, roll, roll, roll, roll.
It's less likely to wrinkle, do it right out of the dryer.
Plus, you save a ton of space in your drawer.
You do that also?
Oh, I roll everything.
Pretty fast, Adam.
It's a fast roller.
Let's check back with her experimenting, see how far the test has gone.
The good housekeeping did an extensive experiment on this, and we have recreated it here.
So come on out, guys.
What did you guys test?
Okay, so we looked at three different cleaning methods to get rid of typical counter grease.
Let me help you here.
One second.
I'll organize you.
You stand there.
Explain this.
Okay, so we used wipes, spray, and the magic eraser on standard kitchen grease.
So which do you think was the most effective?
Let's get at it, ladies.
What are we cleaning with?
Okay, so the wipe, how's it going?
Not so good.
And she's using a lot of elbow grease, wasting a ton of time and energy.
And energy.
I better help you.
So the spray cleaner, also not getting the job done, wasting a ton of time and energy.
The Mr. Clean Magic Eraser.
Woo!
I have to say this is a favorite of the good housekeeping cleanup.
It is a SEAL star.
It has been rigorously vetted and it gets out anything.
Look at this.
You want a girl.
It's truly like magic.
You can use it on cray or crayon on fingerprints.
I walk around my house like this.
Okay, guys.
Okay, guys.
I've got three kids, and this is my best grandma, Dr. Oz.
I am fascinated by this.
I know.
And it doesn't use a ton of elbow grease.
You can use it in the bathroom.
You can use it on scopes, soaps gummies.
You know what I like?
You're right.
It gets the grout clean.
So I looked this up.
This stuff hardens the glass.
And it becomes wet and it becomes like sandpaper.
But without damaging.
See, it's not damaging.
It's a melamine foam typically used in insulation.
And some genius 10 years ago figured out you can also clean with it.
Wow.
So will this change the way you clean?
Of course.
I want this.
Loan it to her.
I don't have enough time on that spray over here.
It's not going anywhere.
What does this cost?
How much time?
I know, look at that.
It's amazing.
Look at that.
I mean, you're getting an arm workout, so that's the plus.
But you're wasting a ton of time.
And the amount of time theoretically you would save with this.
Oh, my gosh, at least nine minutes or more.
Look at that, Dr. Oscar.
I would never have thought to use this.
Oh, my God.
Definitely learned.
All right, so now so far, add the 19 minutes to the hour we saved in the first segment.
It's an hour 19 so far.
Up next.
I mean.
Get in and out of the grocery store in 10 minutes.
You're going to like it.
Thank you, Dr. Oscar.
It's become the new it health trend.
We investigate why are so many people using magnesium.
And blackish star, Anthony Anderson.
You're a walk-in-time bomber.
Not today, but eventually.
Here I am today talking about my diabetes.
All nuas.
That's coming up on Friday.
The average trip to the grocery store can take about as much time as an episode of Empire.
You get better things to do with your time.
So I'm sharing the three time-saving tricks.
You need to conquer the grocery store in 10 minutes.
Plus, the surprising way to outsmart the checkout lines.
My grocery efficiency experts are here to save you time and money.
Financial expert Farnouche Tarabi and Chef Robin Ali are here.
Now, the first way to conquer the grocery store is to choose the right parking space.
So we've got a nice little store here, grocery store, right?
And you argue that the right parking space may not be what you think it is.
Right.
So Dr. Oz, the parking lot is a huge time trap.
And here's why.
So, okay, if we're looking at the grocery store, we all want to be as close to the grocery store as possible.
So what do we do?
We find the parking lot at the nearest spot.
So we circle and circle and circle because this is the most concentrated part of the parking lot.
Chances are we're going to waste gas, we're going to waste time.
We're not going to get that sweet parking spot anytime soon.
So the best thing to do is to go a little bit further back to a lane that's maybe, you know, a few yards back.
It seems counterintuitive, but you'll actually save time by finding the first available spot.
Do this all the time.
Know this area and go to it right away.
It can save you about five minutes getting to the grocery store.
See, I thought I was the only one.
I always pray for parking karma.
Yeah.
But it just doesn't happen.
If it's not happening, you can, you know, and just know that the gas is getting wasted.
Time is getting wasted.
Another time-saving activity at the grocery store is to shop early in the week.
So Mondays and Tuesdays are the lightest traffic days.
Saturday afternoon, the worst, right, Chef?
I'm staying away on the weekends.
So many crowds on Saturday afternoon.
And here's another tip.
Go before 8 a.m., after 6 p.m.
If you can shop within that time frame, you'll save about 15 minutes checking out.
The evenings are better.
Yeah.
After work.
So the next way to conquer the grocery store is the deli drop-off area.
There's a deli counting where you go get your food.
You got to wait in line.
So Chef Roblet, explain your secret here.
Well, when I go to the deli, I always have a little list written out.
So, you know, if it's busy, you take a number.
But as soon as I'm talking to the associate, I'll hand off my list, say, hey, you know what?
Take care of this.
I'll be back as soon as I can.
You know, so you're not just sitting there doing nothing, you know, like as a chef, like we don't have a whole lot of time.
So standing around can't happen.
How many of you guys knew you could do that even?
How come you're not telling me this stuff, Roblox?
Next time saver is to organize your shopping list by categories.
This is another big one, Chef Roblet.
Oh, yeah, absolutely.
Like, you know, I go shopping a lot.
So when I'm writing my list, actually now just like write it on my phone.
I think about the way that the grocery store is laid out.
It's in different sections.
The aisles are in different categories.
So I just imagine my way through the grocery store.
I know I'm going to hit produce first.
All my produce stuff is there.
I'm going to hit dry stuff next.
Dairy, maybe cleaning supplies.
So everything section is thought out first.
You're going to save a lot of time in the long run.
So we tried this out with two busy moms.
Each had the same exact items on their grocery lists.
Only one of the lists was categorized.
There they are.
Beth is there.
She had an uncategorized regular list.
Come on over.
Beth, because you stuck up on me.
So you have the uncategorized list there.
Yes, I did.
How did that work for you?
It was a little crazy.
I was zigzagging all over the store.
So it took me probably about 15 minutes.
Pat, you had to organize the list.
I sure did.
So much better rested, by the way.
Thank you.
And that worked better?
Oh, Beth, she was zipping all over the place.
I got done in 10 minutes.
I kicked her butt.
Did it make you jealous, Beth?
When I got there, I thought that I won, and I was all happy, and then I realized that she had been there for five minutes.
Did you covered her list?
A little bit.
A little bit.
So we measured it out.
You say five minutes.
What?
And it all adds up.
Five minutes is a lot of time just picking your stuff off the shelter.
So it's starting to make a difference for us.
Next time Saver is to conquer the checkout line.
So come on over here.
Thank you very much.
I appreciate you both.
So I'm sitting here ready to check out.
Yeah.
And I'm thinking to myself, where is the best place to go?
Which line?
I know you're all playing the same game with me.
We get there, we're looking in.
It's like picking the right toll booth.
And sometimes checkout takes forever.
The person in front of you had a bunch of stuff, a lot of people there.
You say the person that you get behind matters a lot, and it may not be the person you think it should be.
Right, this may shock you.
It's kind of counterintuitive.
So typically we see someone ahead of us with a huge shopping cart.
We're like, oh no, not getting behind this person.
I'm going to go somewhere else with fewer items.
But this is actually the best person to get behind versus a little bit of a longer line where people have maybe five to ten items each.
Why?
Well, every time a person arrives at the checkout counter, the cashier has to greet them, check in all the items, right?
Then it's time to pay.
Where's my wallet?
Where's my coupon?
How does this credit card machine work?
All of those things take time.
And a study actually found that getting behind a cart with 100 items, you know, that cart takes about six minutes to process versus four carts with 20 items each, that takes seven minutes.
So actually this takes only six minutes, saves you about a minute checking out the grocery store.
Chef Robla, a chef's trick to get through the checkout line.
Well, we already started by shopping in categories.
So when I pull up and it's time for my stuff to go on that little conveyor belt, I like to unpack it myself and I unpack it in categories.
So like all my frozen stuff is going to stay together.
All my meat, fish, all that kind of stuff, I want to keep it together.
Like cleaning supplies, I want to keep together.
I don't want cleaning supplies next to my chicken.
You know, keep them separate.
And then you're also helping the person that's checking you out.
And another thing is, okay, now you're on your way home.
Let's say you have to make a couple of stops.
You created a little freezer slash refrigerator by keeping all your cold stuff together.
And then when you get home and you're unpacking, all your stuff is sectioned out then too.
All your freezer stuff in the freezer, refrigerated, in the refrigerator.
All your cleaning stuff under the sink.
So keep everything together.
I never thought about that.
It makes too much sense.
If you do these tips, everybody, you'll save 41 minutes, 41 minutes in your grocery shopping time.
That brings us to two hours of total time saved so far in the show.
And we're only halfway through.
But stay with us to find out how much more time we will save.
Up next, Chef Robles got the ultimate one-pan meals that will change your dinner game forever.
Before you order another pizza, I'm counting down the three best one-pan meals that will save any weeknight dinner.
Now, they're all under 20 minutes, and best of all, they are infinitely customizable.
So your taste buds, they'll never be born again.
Chef Roblais back, and we're going to start with number three on our list.
This is a no-baked lasagna that's going to blow your minds.
It's great.
It's no bacon.
And even better, it only takes 10 minutes.
Am I right?
10 minutes.
10 minutes.
Check this out from our friends at BuzzFeed's Tasting.
This
is a game changer for sad dinners.
He's going to explain how it works, but I want you to say, you actually hacked the hack.
You made this a little spicier.
Yeah, well, actually, first, I'm not a real big fan of microwaves.
I only use mine to heat up water into melt butter.
Right, but I saw this, and this is actually cool, and it's very tasty.
I tried it.
So I just, you know, tweaked it a little bit.
I added in some fresh basil.
Fresh herbs are always the way to go.
It just adds, you know, brightness, character, and brings life to the dish.
Then also, I like a little bit of heat, so I have some crushed red pepper flake.
You mix some of that in, you get like little sporadic bites of heat.
I got one of them.
Yeah, it was really good.
I'm Matt, come on over.
Amen, as a member of our bike club.
How are you?
Thanks for joining us.
Thank you.
So what do you think about this hack?
It was great.
I was kind of skeptical about putting it in the microwave, but once I tried it, it came out, it was great for lunch for the next day.
Yeah, it's the no-baked noodles.
Yeah.
They're soft.
Yeah.
I thought they're going to be crunchy.
They wouldn't quite get it.
I mean, it's so crazy.
And you need the lid on when you microwave it.
Is that right?
Yeah.
I was trying to say for the next day, but my co-worker finished it for me.
There you go.
Isn't that amazing?
Yes, I knew it was good.
But yeah?
One thing, you have the lid on, but make sure it's cracked a little bit because some steam is going to want to escape.
So you don't want the lid to pop off in the microwave.
Just make sure you crack it just a little bit so the while it's microwaving.
Yes, while it's microwaving, yes.
All right.
So then when you take it off, there's nothing, there's no steam in there then.
Maybe a little bit, but you want to make sure the steam has a way to get out.
Otherwise, you might have like something blow up in your microwave.
You don't want that.
Kids will do that.
Thanks for joining us.
Thanks for making this.
Next up on our countdown, number two, it's a five-minute meal that you can do four ways.
Take a look.
Oh, I'm Jebraway to make it more efficient.
Yes, so just to make it a little bit more restaurant quality, I like to thicken the sauce.
Like, you know, if you go to like a Chinese restaurant, you don't want something that's just gonna be watery.
Oh, yeah, look at that.
It's gonna run off.
So use a little bit of cornstarch to thicken the sauce.
You can make a big batch.
I have sauces on deck in my fridge right now.
I come home, I'll saute something like this up, finish it with some sauce, all done.
So why doesn't everyone have something in their fridge with exhausting?
I don't know.
I hope we're helping them now because I surely have some in mind.
How many of you have a sauce like this already ready to go in an emergency at home?
Hands up.
Oh my goodness.
You have changed people's lives.
You have.
Jeff Roblins has done it again.
All right, finally, it's time for number one on our weeknight dinner countdown.
It's Tasty's most popular, I'll say it again, it's their most popular one-pot dish, creamy chicken bacon pesto pasta.
Listen.
The audience is getting hungry.
Explain why you want to boil the noodles in milk rather than water.
Well, you know, the noodles are going to absorb whatever you boil them in, right?
So for something like this that we want to be like rich and creamy, why do water, which is watery, when you can have your noodles absorb milk, which is going to add that rich, creamy deliciousness.
Right, so now you have customized this.
You added two ingredients: apple-smoked, thick, cut bacon.
Right, right, right.
Which I wouldn't endorse, but it sounds so good.
And then kale instead of the spinach.
Yes, because the kale is really the more important one here because, you know, there is a process cooking here, right?
So baby spinach is very delicate and it just kind of falls apart.
But this kale, which is A, much more nutritious, and it also has more fiber and it'll stand up to the cooking process.
So by the time it's done, it'll be like perfect, it'll have like the perfect texture as opposed to a little crunch somebody left over instead of some mushroom.
And what about the bacon?
Well, I mean, bacon is kind of self-explanatory there, right?
Like, get a good apple-smoked, thick-cut bacon.
That's what, that's the only little tweaks I had on this recipe.
All right.
We're going to put a cheat sheet of these hacks and recipes at Dr.Oz.com.
I'm going to thank my friends at BuzzFeeds Tasty for all their videos.
Audience, who wants some of this?
Yeah, let's go on over there.
Pass it.
We'll be right back, everybody.
She found the man of her dreams.
He wanted to get married within the second day.
Then he tried to kill her daughter.
He was stabbing me.
Could you be dating a sociopath and not know it?
All new oz.
that's coming up tomorrow just looking at the line in this busy waiting room give you anxiety Just sitting at that.
Now today, nurses secret time savers at the doctor's office to get you in and out like this.
Because remember, nurses are the official timekeepers of every doctor's office.
Nurse Alice Benjamin is joining us.
She's also known as America's favorite nurse.
And I'll admit that I hate waiting around in lines.
I'm just going to show you an example, not in a doctor's office.
This is me waiting in line at the DMV earlier this year.
See how happy I look?
No one else is happy either.
So Nurse Alice, in defense of all the docs like me out there, why is it that sometimes we run behind?
What's messing up our schedule?
So docs like you are always late because people are so excited to see you.
They've seen their Google doctor and now they have some time to talk to you and now they want to get all their real questions answered.
But poynants also run behind because sometimes someone's coming in with signs and symptoms of a stroke, a heart attack, or something urgent.
So those people get to cut the line regardless what their appointment time is.
I wish it was that predictable.
So for that reason, we sometimes are doing what we don't want to do, which is run late.
On average, how much time does a patient have to wait in their office?
The average time is about 20 minutes.
Now, it's not always.
Sometimes it's shorter and sometimes it's also a little bit longer.
But again, it's because things are happening in the office.
And if someone's coming in with an urgent need, we're hopeful that everyone will understand that that person needs to be seen.
But you've got some secrets, some time savers for us all.
Are you ready?
Yes.
The best time to come to the doctor's office turns out to be the early morning or after lunch.
Now, why is that?
That's because you're first on the list, right?
So if you're the first appointment of the day, the doctor's fresh, you're in there, you get to go in and out, no wait, right?
So that's perfect.
And then also the same rationale after lunch.
You reset.
Yes.
All right, now, best day of the week.
This is interesting because you might think, oh, it doesn't make a difference.
They're seeing patients every day.
Not true.
What is the best day to book your appointment?
Best day is Wednesday, midweek.
And the reason being is because Mondays are very hectic days, right?
So much has gone on during the weekend.
Everyone's racing to get to the doctor and they all want to be seen.
And the same thing with Friday, right?
So much has happened during the week.
People have procrastinated and now they all want to be seen before the weekend comes.
Now, there's a no-no-wait system.
I didn't even know about this.
I knew that it existed for some folks, but it turns out it's for everybody, for most people.
It's 24-hour nurse helplines.
Almost all insurance plans offer them.
If you don't have insurance, don't panic.
Our team was actually able to identify services for people who don't have any coverage at all.
So explain how these things work.
So I love this, right?
So oftentimes people want to have, ask questions of their doctors.
They don't know what to do.
They're stuck.
So they can often ask questions about, you know, symptoms that they're having.
Or maybe they started a new medication and they're concerned about side effects.
Or maybe they want to try a new home remedy and want to know if it's safe.
They also want to know, do I need to go in the doctor right now?
And it's really a great resource that goes underutilized.
So I want to encourage people to use it.
And insurance companies offer this, it saves them money.
Yes.
If they can answer your questions, you don't go see a doctor and make your experience a little better, it's better for everybody in the system.
So again, I didn't realize how widespread they are, so I'm happy this exists.
So we're going to put the information about this 24-hour nurse helpline on our website with all our other efficiency hacks.
You can share them with all your buddies.
You can also go to my app.
It's called AskMD, that award-winning app, to help you efficiently make sense of whatever symptoms are going on in your life.
That way, when you do talk to a nurse or to your doctor, you'll be able to tell them exactly what's going down because you kept track of it based on this really clever tracker of what's going on in your symptoms.
So since there's no waiting line with this time saver, you've actually saved 20 minutes because you don't have to go to the doctor's office to wait there.
That brings us to a total of three hours saved.
But wait, Dr. Oz, I have a few more questions.
More questions?
I need a tip.
I want to know what is the tip to seeing you and keeping you on time.
So what I did is I called the big guns and I called my expert, Miss Flora.
Flora's here?
Flora's here.
This is my boss.
She is here.
This...
This is the woman.
So when I was a young resident training and she was already at Columbia, I won't say how long you've been there, but you're already at Columbia, she would always say, your patient's not ready to have their chest closed yet.
You have to be like the Sahara Desert.
How would you say it?
I don't know.
I'm saying so much, Father.
I want to hear you.
Let me see your Sahara Desert.
So, the Sahara Desert.
She wanted the chest to be so dry.
Yes.
When people bleed after heart surgery, she wanted it to be so dry that there'll be no bleeding.
No bleeding at all.
You can close.
No matter how busy you are, stay here.
Finish.
Make sure.
Okay.
I don't want the patient to come back.
You know, so many times there are not to have to open.
I have to go to ICU, bring all the instruments, go over there, open the patient's chest.
That's why you stay here no matter how busy you are.
No matter where you have to go, you have to catch the plan.
There she is.
Flora, God bless you.
All right, we'll be right back now.
Patient dreams.
Up next, we're trying to break a show record today with the fastest workout ever.
Bust the screen right here for the New York Jets.
It's going to help us with a new four-minute workout to burn your fat faster.
Stick around.
We're breaking a show record today with the fastest workout ever.
A new four-minute workout to burn as much fat and calories as a 30-minute workout.
And Keacha's cornerback for the New York Jets and personal trainer, Buster Screen, is here.
Come on out.
Here he is.
Oh, my goodness, he is fit.
He is fit.
He's making the moves.
How are you?
Thanks for being here.
Four minutes.
It's a big promise.
What makes you so passionate?
Why do you believe that four minutes will give you the benefits you were promising people?
I believe it will give you the benefits that we've been promising because it's a quick workout.
You're non-stop moving the whole time.
And everybody knows if you do a hit workout, a high-intense interval training type of workout, once you're done working out, your metabolism is still running, you're still sweating.
So, say if you do a hit workout opposed to jogging, you'll lose the same amount of calories in a shorter amount of time.
That's the promise.
The question is: did it really happen?
So, we asked one of you, a member of the audience, to put it to the test.
Earlier during the show, we asked Jessica to work out for 30 minutes.
Here she is, busting her tail, and then she worked out for four minutes.
For four minutes.
And Jessica's here.
How are you, Jessica?
Thanks for joining us.
Thank you.
This is Buster's ID.
Talk me into it.
It's not my fault, but I am curious how it worked for you.
It was awesome.
So I did a high-intensity workout for four minutes.
It was hard.
And then I sat down for 26 minutes with my heart rate monitor on and I burned 200 calories doing basically nothing.
I was sitting on Facebook, getting my hair done.
Yeah.
That was because your heart rate had been so fast.
Yeah.
And it took a while to slow down.
So your body thinks you're still warming up.
And how about the 30-minute activity?
The 30-minute activity, you know, I couldn't get as much done.
I couldn't Facebook, I couldn't get my hair and makeup done.
I was moving.
So.
And your calorie burned?
I burned about the same.
The same?
Yeah.
So four minutes burned the same as 30 minutes.
You guys interested in this?
So I look at the research on this.
I'm looking.
Everybody, four-minute workouts get your heart rate up so high that it takes a while for them to come back down.
So you continue to burn calories playing on social media, cooking, doing whatever you want to do.
Which is what's so appealing for people who are busy.
I just ask you for four minutes.
Buster, will you show us?
Oh, all four minutes.
All right, come on.
Put Buster in the middle here.
All right.
So I'm going to put four, I'm going to put the put up on the clock there, take us through it.
All right, so the first thing we're going to do is three sets of jumping jacks.
So first jumping that we're going to do is just a regular jumping jack.
Ready?
Three, two, one, go.
One, two, three, four, five, six, three, two, one, and pause.
So next, we'll go swan jumper jack.
So it's right here, right here.
All right, here we go.
Ready?
Three, two, one, go.
One.
What a hope.
Get up and do it for you.
Three guys.
Four.
Give it five.
Four minutes right now.
You have done your whole workout.
Eight, nine, ten.
And last, but not least, we'll go crisscross.
So we'll cross our arms and cross our feet at the same time.
Ready?
Three, two, one, go.
One, two.
Three, four, five, two.
Eight, nine, ten.
Good deal.
All right.
All right.
That's 30 seconds.
We rest.
Yeah, 30 seconds.
Okay, take a little break.
So you take like a 10-second break if you're like an extreme workout type of person, or you take a 20-second break if you're just, you know, catching on.
All right, we'll take it 10 seconds, guys at home.
Get ready with this.
Come on.
Next round.
So next we have pogo.
So this is a pogo right here.
You're like on the pogo stick.
Okay.
All right.
So when I yell right, we'll go right 90 degrees.
Now say right again, we'll go right and we'll go in the full circle and then come back left.
Okay, all right, here we go.
Ready?
Three, two, one, pogo.
Right.
As many as you can get, as many as you can get, as many as you can get.
Ready?
Right.
Right.
It's like I'm playing football.
Right.
Right.
Not to the left.
Left.
Left.
And then when I go three, two, one, we'll squat.
And then we'll do one more set.
Ready?
Yep.
Pogo.
Pogo.
Now we're going to go left, left, left, left, three, two, one, and squat.
Good job.
Now we're going to shake that out.
Check it out.
Are you the fastest person in the team?
Fast on the scene.
Fastest.
Fast on the same.
149 coming out.
You could under a 4340.
Under a 40.
The fastest man on the team and a professional football team.
How do you do that?
I'm excited.
That feels great.
I've always been fast.
I always worked out.
So a lot of people are like, oh, you're naturally busted with speed, but I work out all the time.
You're doing this.
Look how fast you're going to be.
Okay, last round.
Come on.
All right.
And then last round we're going to do, we're going to do squat, touch your elbow, squat, touch your elbow, and then we'll go for 10.
Three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten.
And then we'll hold it at the bottom.
All right, now we're going to go high knees.
Ready?
Go.
High knees, right here, right here, right here.
Get them up, get them up, get them up, get them up.
Get them, get them up, get them up.
Get them up over there.
Come on.
Sorry.
I can't do all the work here.
And the last one we're gonna do is we're gonna kick our butt.
Okay, yep.
Kick your butt, kick your butt, kick your butt, kick your butt.
As many as you can get, as many as you can get.
Three, two, one, one, squat.
Good job.
And we did it.
And you repeat it.
Nicely done.
Fuster screen.
Thank you for warning.
Thank you for doing it.
Okay, book the entire four-minute workout at DrEyes.com just repeat it to get to your four minutes and then relax.
