Living in a Recession00:03:22
Jesus said, Man cannot live on bread alone, but from every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.
You're listening to Daily Truth.
The new covenant Christian, you and I, brothers and sisters, we are called, especially in all our lives, but especially on the Lord's Day, as we come to gather together in worship of the triune God, we are called to embody a serious joy.
When we gather together on the Lord's Day, The first day of the week, the day that Christ Jesus rose from the grave, when we gather together for the administering of the ordinary means of grace, publicly preaching the word, praying the word, singing the word in hymns and psalms and spiritual songs and seeing the word and the only two images prescribed for us by Christ himself, that is the Lord's Supper and baptism, when we come for that event, that experience, it is a heavenly reality.
It's the delectable hills.
We catch a glimpse of the celestial city.
It is the heavenly Jerusalem.
It is Mount Zion.
And when we gather together on the Lord's Day, we should recognize that what we are doing has real implications.
Things by God himself through the worship of the saints will be shaken in heaven and on earth.
It's a glorious reality.
And it's a reality that demands from each one of us serious joy.
Leaping and dancing.
Joy and gratitude for the free gift of grace and the gospel of Jesus Christ.
And trembling and fearfulness.
Wanting to be meticulous and careful to offer acceptable worship with reverence and awe.
Can I be frank with you for just a second, right here at the end?

Let's be honest.
I mean, we're living in Joe Biden's ridiculous economy.
Our nation, And our totalitarian political elites lost their minds over the last three years due to COVID.
We have written checks that we simply cannot cash.
It doesn't matter if people change the definition of a recession.
We are living in a recession right now, regardless.
Some of you are struggling to afford a carton of eggs at the grocery store.
You cannot support financially this ministry at this time, nor should you.
But you could still help us tremendously.
