DAILY TRUTH - Living From Faith

Daily Truth host challenges listeners to replace fear with faith, defining anxiety as a dread of tomorrow that robs present joy while despair dissatisfies the now. He argues that true faith looks forward to Christ's victory rather than storing up resources or succumbing to worst-case scenarios, urging leaders to stop serving worry and instead model speech and conduct that reflects God's intent for flourishing. By rejecting the prosperity gospel's focus on wealth, the speaker calls for a sovereign trust in blessings for families and vocations, concluding with a plea for five-star reviews to amplify this biblically grounded message against algorithmic suppression. Faith Prepares for the Future 00:06:16
All right, listen, guys, I get it.
Many of you are unable to financially support this ministry because you're spending your cash and your lives on raising young children in the fear and admonition of the Lord.
Praise God for you and that endeavor.
However, algorithms are a thing.
Shadow banning, sadly, is a thing.
And one major way that you can help to expand the reach and effectiveness of this ministry that doesn't cost you a dime is by spending just a few moments leaving us a five star review.
Also, perhaps even more effective than that, you can share our podcast with a friend.
We hope you'll take the time to do so.
Thank you so much.
God bless.
Jesus said, Man cannot live on bread alone, but from every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.
You're listening to Daily Truth.
Faith is what we are called to set an example in for the believers.
Speech, conduct, love, and faith.
As we set an example in faith, it means that we must be ruthless towards our own sin, including the sin of fear.
And this is why we tolerate fear.
Or I should better say, this is how we often seek to justify the sin of fear.
We place fear under the thin veil of wisdom.
See, both fear and wisdom are future oriented, whereas something like despair, It could be that you are despairing even of life because you see no light at the end of the tunnel.
You're looking toward the future and say that there's no hope to be found.
But very often, things like depression, things like despair, it's this overwhelming dissatisfaction with the present.
But anxiety is always oriented toward the future.
Anxiety is this constant, incessant sense of dread and impending doom about what might happen.
Tomorrow.
Charles Spurgeon once said that anxiety does not rid tomorrow of its trouble, but it rids today of its joy.
Now, here's what wisdom does.
The Proverbs look to the ant, thou sluggard, and be wise.
Now, what does the ant do?
The ant prepares for the future.
There is a sense in which preparation for the future is wise.
And there is a sense in which storing up for the future without faith is fear.
There is a fine line.
This is what I'm saying.
There's a fine line between wisdom and fear.
And we must be ruthless with ourselves.
How often have I, in my own personal life, in my family, as a leader in my home, as a leader in this church, how often have I put something underneath the category of wisdom that was really rooted in fear?
My family, my wife, my daughters, this church, you brothers and sisters, need men like myself and others to lead from faith and not fear.
You know what faith does?
Faith is future oriented also.
See, fear prepares for the worst and it believes that the worst will come about.
That's what fear does.
Fear is future oriented, but it's future oriented in the worst case possible scenario.
It assumes suffering.
It assumes devastation.
It assumes destruction.
Faith also looks forward with wisdom and it assumes victory.
It assumes success.
And I'm not talking about prosperity, gospel, $58 million jet plane.
I'm talking about Christ is returning.
We know the end of the story.
We win.
Now, we win often through suffering, but we win.
See, fear will cause leaders to prepare their families and their churches and their communities for a worst case scenario.
But I was just thinking about this and just praying about this over the last few weeks.
What if God, in his sovereignty, chose to pour out?
Blessing.
Would we be prepared for that?
See, faith prepares in wisdom for the worst to a point.
But then it stops and it rests and it trusts.
And it doesn't prepare for the worst at the cost of preparing for the best.
What if God intended in his sovereignty to pour out blessing this year on our church?
What if God intended, brothers and sisters, this year in 2020?
To pour out something in your family, in your marriage, with your children, with your vocation that was good?
Would you be prepared for that?
Or have you only been a slave to incessant worry about what if something bad takes place?
That is a false view of your Heavenly Father.
Lead from faith, live from faith, not fear.
Set an example for the brothers in faith.
Are we setting an example for faith?
Or are we leading in such a way and living in such a way and have a theology and a perspective of God in such a way that when people look at our lives, they just, you know how some things are taught and some things are caught?
I know that's kind of a cliche and it is a cliche, but there's some truth to it.
Are people catching an infectious disease from us that the more time they spend around us and they see the way we live and they see the way we lead, they begin to just assume bad things are always going to happen?
Or do they actually grow in faith and assume that it might be God's intention for things to flourish, for things to grow, for good things and blessing to also happen?
