Daily Truth host defines sexual purity as encompassing both outward behavior and inward thoughts, citing Romans 13:14 to urge capturing every thought. Drawing on John Owen, the speaker argues that struggles with lust often stem from lifestyle choices like excessive TV or sloppy reading, while singles are told rejecting partners makes provisions for the flesh. Married men must examine intimacy as a divine defense against lust. Ultimately, the episode challenges listeners to set purity examples and support the ministry through reviews despite algorithmic limitations. [Automatically generated summary]

Stop Making Provisions For Sin00:04:13
All right, listen, guys, I get it.
Many of you are unable to financially support this ministry because you're spending your cash and your lives on raising young children in the fear and admonition of the Lord.
Praise God for you and that endeavor.
However, algorithms are a thing.
Shadow banning, sadly, is a thing.
And one major way that you can help to expand the reach and effectiveness of this ministry that doesn't cost you a dime is by spending just a few moments leaving us a five star review.
Also, perhaps even more effective than that, you can share our podcast with a friend.
We hope you'll take the time to do so.
Thank you so much.
God bless.
Jesus said, Man cannot live on bread alone, but from every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.
You're listening to Daily Truth.
The word purity in this context refers to moral purity, but we could just look at good, godly moral conduct, which we've already addressed.
So I think more particularly, the purity.
Here is speaking of sexual purity.
And it's not merely outward, our behaviors, but even in the realm of our thoughts.
Sexual immorality, it always begins in the mind.
Therefore, walking with Christ means taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ.
And when we fail, we must be vigilant to acknowledge and confess our sin.
And then we must put on the Lord Jesus Christ and make no provision for the flesh in regard to its lust.
Romans 13 14.
I love Owen, John Owen, and other great writers such as the Puritans.
They spoke of the sin of making provisions for sin.
You may not actually be sinning in a particular area like sexual perversion, sexual immorality, but you can look to the way you live, you can look to the way you spend your time, you can look to all these different things and see that.
You're just a moment away.
You may not have sinned yet, but you will because you're making provisions for the flesh.
Some men, you speak with them, like, I don't know why I keep struggling in this area.
How much TV do you watch?
I know why.
Some of you married men, it's like, yeah, I'm still struggling in this area.
How often do you sleep with your wife?
I mean, God literally prescribes in His Word if you burn with passion, marry.
And it's not just so that you can hold hands.
The very clear implication there is that God gives marriage as a wall, as a defense against lust.
So, how's your relationship with your wife?
Your intimacy with your wife?
What are your reading habits?
Are you disciplined?
Are you sleeping in every morning?
Or are you getting up and spending time with the Lord?
There are multiple things that we can look at.
How much time do you spend at the beach?
I'm not saying it's inherently a sin for a man or woman to go to the beach, but if you're wrestling with lust and sinning on a regular basis at the level of actions, at the level you're actually giving in, and you're going to the beach three times a week, then stop.
There's my biblical counsel for you.
Stop it.
Stop it.
If you have mastery and victory over that area, then sure, fine.
But if you're saying, yeah, man, I'm just really, really struggling with lust, and you're watching a ton of TV, going to the beach, your reading habits are sloppy, and you've been single for 35 years, And there actually were people who would have married you and you just turned them down, it's your fault.
Provisions for the flesh.
Set an example in purity.
Thanks so much for listening.
