I commented awhile back that I'd make his song my ringtone if he talked about vets in a song. Guess I'm changing my ringtone (clip)

Time Text
Fate has forced our hand.
We are covering the Facebook white rapper Tom McDonald again for like the fourth time, I think.
Because he released a new song.
This is something that he does from time to time.
He doesn't really release albums.
He just releases a single that he and his girlfriend make a music video for in their house.
I think he probably has a second mortgage on that house now after buying the NFT of the beat for that Eminem song.
Which was the last time he was in the news.
He made news because it was like M&M fan buys NFT of I think it was like Deerslim.
I think it's the Deerslim beat.
So weird.
So stupid.
I think he bought it for a hundred grand or something.
That's sick.
And it's even more sick that all the headlines said M&M fan.
Yeah, that is awesome.
Here's another white guy that just likes Eminem a lot.
Sounds like a fan to me.
Tom McDonald went viral again.
He didn't have to spend $100,000 this time, I guess.
I mean, I don't know how much he spent on making the music video.
The video is pretty baller.
Yeah, but again, it's like shot in his house like it's it's like all shot in like a One room in there in their home or whatever.
She just like puts up false walls or whatever.
They have a whole system for it I've seen it It's I mean good, you know that part of it.
I won't clown on too hard.
That's that's actually kind of cool But that's actually we're gonna do today.
We're actually gonna talk about how this video runs parallel to the inside special the Bo Burnham's inside special And how they're very similar forms of the medium of making visual arts.
And that's what we're going to do today.
So let's get into it.
Yeah, Bo Burnham is the leftist Tom McDonald.
Exactly.
You heard it here first.
Yeah.
No, yeah, so he was, like, trending on Twitter, right?
And, like, a bunch of people were like, what the fuck is going on?
A bunch of people tagged us and were like, hey, what's going on?
But, like, I have a job and so, like, I didn't see it for, like, two hours till, like, two hours later.
And, uh, the specific trend was, like, a white rapper who, like, isn't afraid of black people releases a new song or whatever called Snowflakes.
And I was like, I could've sworn he already released a song called Snowflakes.
Yeah, wasn't it like... Earthquake.
Snowflakes.
Facts don't care about feelings.
Yeah, I think that's fake woke.
I think the facts don't care about feelings is fake woke.
This guy is so fucking corny, like... It's so brutal.
And listening to this song, I was like, oh, okay, yeah, he has written this song.
Because the song is, once again, just like if somebody set Charlie Kirk's tweets to a beat.
Yep, yep, exactly.
That's what it is, yeah.
I mean, he literally had Ben Shapiro's catchphrase as the hook in Fake Woke.
No, yeah, I think Ben Shapiro actually has a writing credit in the song.
So when he gets nominated for a Grammy, Ben Shapiro will also be winning a Grammy.
So it's like... This song is just... I mean, it's... I mean, you already said it, Tony.
Like, does the right wing even use snowflakes anymore?
Does, like, the right wing that are his age use the word snowflake anymore?
That's kind of a... It's almost nostalgic now.
Yeah.
I haven't heard that in a long time.
But I feel like it's worth talking about just because I, like, I think Tom McDonald does represent, like, the most popular right-wing musician around right now?
Let's hear a little bit of Snowflakes.
*music* Butt Rod This is like...
a sample on GarageBand *music* Oh shit!
Whoa, these clowns in Washington weren't ready for that.
Hold on, I wasn't ready to agree with my guy.
We're on the same page right now.
This dude has, hey, he's going to tell it like it is.
People don't want to hear it.
But politicians, they don't tell the truth all the time.
They're full of shit.
They're actually full of shit.
I don't think that's even true.
I don't think that's a real fact.
Have you looked at the victims of communism ticker lately?
That is true.
But I have seen the children who have been killed by abortions ticker and it's still at zero.
I don't think that's even true.
I don't think that's a real fact.
Have you looked at the victims of communism ticker lately?
That is true.
But I have seen the children who have been killed by abortions ticker, and it's still at zero.
It's still at zero.
If America's Sotero I'm gonna say it!
Oh goddammit!
- Whoa.
I'm gonna say it?
Oh, goddammit.
Alex, I gotta be real.
I gotta be real.
I am fucking triggered right now.
I am triggered right now, for real.
We'll fight this fool.
He's on-site with Tom O'Donnell.
For real, though.
He, him, his, her, pronouns.
I think your pronouns is stupid.
That's vile.
That's wild.
Just going for it.
Leaning into it.
Like, this is like... It's just boomer rap.
We haven't gone to YouTube comments in a while.
I think with Van Morrison, the Van Morrison episode, we went to some YouTube comments, but it's, you know.
But it's the roots.
It's the roots.
It's the roots of the show and it's always good content.
And I'm just going to do a speed round of something that Tony alluded to previously.
IK Dulo says, not normally into rap, but I think I found my gateway artist.
There it is.
Disgruntled Pigeon says, I'm not one for rap hip-hop, but I like this.
Jay Reynolds says, never been a fan of rap, found you through the quartering.
Dude, you've made a fan out of me.
Deftist Afid, which is a white rapper's name for sure, says, no doubt, who's here because of the quartering?
I am, and I don't even like most rap, but this speaks actual literal truth, and that I can respect.
Jonas Eric Barreto says, dude, I don't even like rap that much, but we can all agree that this is a piece of art.
This is great social critique.
Fist-punching emoji.
Yeah, dawg.
Sidoru Legacy says, wow, best rap I've heard.
FYI, I'm not into rap at all, but I enjoyed this one.
Yep.
South Jersey Ninja says, I don't like rap music, but I like this.
Belte Shazar says, I normally hate rap, but this is amazing.
That was all like in the last hour that I was looking at comments for this.
And I love this because it is like, instead of having the top and bottom text on his Facebook video, which is like, you know, this white rapper is pissing off women and trans people and he doesn't give a fuck.
You know, instead of having that, it could just be, People who fucking hate rap and music in general love this guy.
Why don't you listen to him?
It sounds like good stuff, right?
Well, it's the plot to like a spy movie.
The thing is that he figured out that his hooks, they like tickle the same thing in the brain that the hook from God Smacks Voodoo does.
So they've like got the same people.
Like the same thing that happens when people hear like, Voodoo, Voodoo.
The same thing happens when they hear his hooks and they're into it.
They're like, I don't usually like rap, but something's happening here.
I guess.
I just, I think it's like the worst argument possible.
Like, hey, normally I fucking hate music, but this I like, and it's like me, I'm like, oh shit, it must be good if this awful person likes it.
Let me see if I can find the song that I'm thinking of.
This song's called Did Your Best.
This is maybe the one.
Dude, she starts the song trying to lift up people who were bullied from other people calling them retarded.
And her fucking boyfriend just dropped a diss track where that was the hottest line.
I love that.
