Next segment, something that was very funny to me and a lot of other people, Dolly Parton said Black Lives Matter.
Right?
I think she was asked about it and she said, she was asked true or false, do black lives matter?
And she was like, uh, yeah.
The direct quote was like, do white people think our little white asses are the only lives that matter?
Yes.
Which is like a cute little Dolly Parton thing to say.
I like it a lot.
Which is a huge Dolly Parton flex.
Let's be real.
Didn't she, but didn't she say everybody matters?
Yeah.
Didn't she kind of like water it down a little bit?
I mean, I'll give her, I'll give her some space there.
Not everyone knows this.
Maybe Dolly Parton doesn't use the internet that much.
I think it's okay to say everyone matters if you're also okay with saying black lives matter.
Like, I think, I mean, the phrase all lives matter was like pretty much originated by people who refused to acknowledge the phrase black lives matter.
Like it was like 100% opposition to that.
So, it's, I don't, I don't, and she did, Scott, like you said, she said something like, everybody matters.
She didn't say all lives matter, which would have been bad.
And she also did say the words, black lives matter, though.
And like that, she's like, of course black lives matter.
What do we think, our little white asses are the only ones that matter?
Everyone matters.
And like, considering I mean, that's awesome in general, it's the least we can ask for, but considering who she is, where she's from, who her perceived target demographic is, where the location of the most money she makes is, that's fucking awesome.
And I'll take it.
I'll take it every single day.
Yeah, and it's funny because I'm pulling from Breitbart here, the Breitbart Facebook post.
There's like...
This is going to be a like multi-bracketed segment on Dolly Parton because the responses are just really interesting.
The first ones from the Breitbart Facebook post I think are like the most direct, like the most, you know, dealing with the reality of Dolly Parton saying this.
And, you know, either coping or not coping with that fact.
And Lisa Freeman Martin says, who is a top fan of Breitbart, it should be noted on Facebook, says, she follows that statement with every life matters.
This is misleading.
Like you said, Scott.
I love this.
And then Monica Martin Bush says, of course the liberals are going to take this and run.
It's not an endorsement of BLM, the organization, but one of Black Lives in general matter, like all normal people believe.
And it's so funny because this was the argument from the beginning with the Black Lives Matter movement.
Like not the organization, not the copyrighted whatever or whoever owns the patent, the copyright for Black Lives Matter.
It was just Black Lives Matter.
The word also was in subtext.
And this is something that like every proponent of Black Lives Matter has been saying.
Breast cancer survivors matter.
It doesn't mean you hate other cancer survivors.
This has been the fucking meme from the beginning and it's just funny when they see a white artist that they love making this.
They're like, well actually the liberal media is spinning this into pretending she said only black lives matter when in reality she said everyone's lives matter including black lives.
And it's just in a wonderful, like, roundabout.
We've reached, like, full circle here.
Lisa, Lisa, Monica, you don't want to, but you're almost getting it.
You're so close.
Yep.
And you're trying really hard.
They're not even, like, close to getting it.
They're close to being okay with Dolly not getting it as much as they want to.
You know, they're like, no, listen, like, she just, like, she just smokes it.
She doesn't inject it yet.
Like she just smokes it.
It's not that big of a deal.
Attempting to weaponize the actual real explanation.
Yeah, exactly.
So it's, they're not, they're not even, they're not even like in, they're not even endorsing her statement.
They're just saying that at least she's not saying that she endorses the, like the organization.
She was not saying at least she's not as bad as we think everyone is.
They're not even saying they agree with it.
They're just saying she's not that bad.
Well, they're saying right here, like all normal people believe.
All normal people believe that black lives matter, which is why, you know, 48% of the country didn't completely shit themselves when the phrase black lives matter became popular.
We all remember that not happening because all normal people believe that black lives matter.
And I love that that's like the, that's the argument that was at least in this Breitbart comment section.
I don't think that's an argument you're going to see in nearly any other conservative context, but in this specific context it is, oh no, all normal people believe that Black Lives Matter.
We just have a problem with like the mission statement of Black Lives Matter TM, which is a quote Marxist organization.
Like, that's been kind of the shift in rhetoric on the right wing.
And it's just funny that they're glossing over the total conniption fit they had with just the phrase, Black Lives Matter.
Like, I mean, we documented it in real time.
The number one reaction to this was ALL LIVES MATTER, in all caps, screaming at these people.
The second reaction was WHITE LIVES MATTER.
Yes.
Or, it's okay to be white.
Those were the two reactions to this shit.
So it's very funny that this is like the alternative history we're witnessing here.
