And this is over the edit that's cut out the part where Lieutenant Byron is going to let him drive home drunk.
Yep.
Yep.
And the only reason that doesn't happen is because Augustine starts fucking crying here.
Crying.
Weeping.
Get going then.
Do what you gotta do.
Seriously, I'm trying to help you, bud.
- Seriously, I'm trying to help you, bud.
Huh?
What'd you say?
I didn't lie.
What'd you say?
So I can't let you drive home, alright?
Yeah, I can't.
No, you can't.
Yeah, I can't.
And again, I understand that, Augie, that you're upset.
I get that.
You're having a tough time right now with everything that's going on, bud.
But it doesn't have to go out like this, okay?
It's just an accident.
Okay?
What do I do?
Huh?
What do I do?
What do you mean, what do you do?
What do you do?
If it's just an accident, what do I do?
You hit a semi-trailer, so again, as part of our... The whole time, you're like, what is this over?
Okay, my man came home drunk, he's fine, right?
And he's like, what did I do?
What did I do?
Well, you hit a semi-trailer.
Like the biggest thing you could hit on the street.
You hit one of those because you're that drunk.
But you need to call your wife.
I don't need to arrest you.
I don't need to take you in right now because you've already committed a crime.
Gotta call your wife, bud.
Hey, bud.
Hey, listen, pal.
Listen, friendo.
I'm just trying to help you.
And if you watch the unedited version of this video, he's being much more of a dick.
Officer Augustine is being much more of a dick and saying things like, fuck you.
But of course he's saying it like, fuck you.
And he laughs while he's saying it too.
He has a little laugh the whole time because he's so drunk.
He's doing that aggressive shit.
He's doing that aggressive smirking shit.
Yeah.
Where he's challenging him.
He's challenging his superior officer the whole time.
But Lieutenant Byron is like, how come you're putting me through this, bud?
I didn't do anything to you.
Why are you treating me like this?
And it's like, it's so insane to see this relationship between these two men who are, you know, of course, both police officers, but Lieutenant Byron is the commanding officer here.
Yeah.
He is the boss of Augustine and they're both cops and I'm just I just want to picture like a I want you at home or you at work to picture a drunken belligerent who has just crashed their total their car their work car into a semi-trailer The biggest thing, I said the biggest thing on the street.
And then they get out and you're like, hey, you need to calm down.
And then you're like, fuck you to the police officer.
And then the police officer says, hey, how come you're treating me like this?
What's going on, bud?
Imagine that world, and that's the world the cops occupy.
That would be so sick.
That's the reality of the police force among each other.
Imagine a world where you drunkenly total your work truck into another car, and you're visibly drunk, audibly drunk, olfactory senses can detect that you're drunk.
And you still, like, uh, your, uh, you know, your superior is still, like, victimized.
And the best part about this too is, like, it took so long for what happened to come.
Because the thing is, they're cops.
They already knew about the drunk, him driving in the semi.
They knew about that a long time ago.
It took so long to get there.
If there were videos, if this wasn't, like, if they didn't have these body cams, This would have never come out.
No.
Nothing would have ever happened.
What's funny is like they have these body cams and this whole thing was so like weird and like niche that they weren't even able to cover it up because like they could have not had this because body cams really don't have to be held accountable like why are they interacting with pedestrians.
You know?
And for some reason they like still let this get out.
That's how incompetent these people are.
We have to go down with that and go take the test.
If everything comes back okay, then that's great.
It helps you.
It benefits you.
I've been drunk.
Huh?
I'm drunk.
You're drunk right now?
No, I've been drunk.
Been drunk when?
Today?
I've been drunk.
All while talking to him as a true friend.
Just cooperate with me.
I can't even talk.
Lieutenant Byron didn't like seeing the state's officers.
He wanted to help.
- I'll have her come get you, bud. - He wanted to help. - Get your phone out and call her. - I don't have your phone. - You don't have your phone?
Wanna use mine?
- Like, we should be-- - Knowing that Augustine will have an uphill battle. - What's this?
Huh?
What's this gonna do?
I don't know.
That's why I gotta call him.
So, are you willing to hear me out and do it?
Alright, let's go in there and take care of that, bud.
And then we'll get you out of here.
As soon as your wife gets here, we'll get you out of here.
Alright?
This whole video should be used as an indictment against policing.
The first segment we talked about how the military has to deal with PTSD and how that's bad.
And this is the equivalent.
This guy, by all means, is a healthy Caucasian male who has a wife and a steady job and he's so fucked up.
His life is so fucked up because of what he probably does and how he lives his life that he has to get super drunk to the point where he's crying because he's so upset.
Like, this should be used as an indictment against policing in general.
Yeah, I mean, also... Dude only drank two Four Locos?
Did he, like, just start drinking?
Yeah, to put that in perspective, I'm like two beers and a bottle of wine down in this episode right now.
Maybe give me a badge.
I'm not trying to make fun of alcoholism.
I know people struggle with that shit, but I don't think an alcoholic would get blackout drunk off of two Four Locos over the course of six hours.
Well, that's because you're talking about alcoholism, which is a hard word to say in this state.
And it totally ruined the rest of the joke, so I'm not going to deliver it.
Okay.
Thank you.
Appreciate you.
Yeah, because it's like 14% is Four Loko.
I think the real mistake was banning the caffeine part of Four Loko.
I think if Four Loko still had all that caffeine or taurine in it or whatever, he would have been doing a much better job.
