Time Text
Welcome to this podcast on why, quote, staying positive is a philosophy of denialism.
Nothing wrong with being positive when circumstances warrant that, and nothing wrong with having a positive outlook at all.
In fact, humanity is hardwired for irrational optimism.
Did you know that?
There's actually an inner hope that humans have even when technically, rationally, there should be no hope at all.
This has been studied in soldiers and they found that even when people are frankly about to die and there's really no option, they will still express hope and they will believe in some sense of positivity and that it's a survival mechanism.
That's right.
Staying positive is a kind of survival mechanism that people invoke When things are really, really bad.
And so there's nothing wrong with the mechanism except when you deny the reality of the bad things that are happening.
And so that's the point of my podcast here today is, yeah, we're going to have hope.
In fact, I'm a long-term optimist, but I also am a realist, and it's critical that if we want to make it to the long-term, if we want to survive difficult times, and I don't think anybody can argue against the fact that we are in difficult times, I mean, very difficult times right now, no question about it.
We've got to be realistic about the threats that face us in order to overcome those threats, in order to adapt and to respond in a way that allows us to survive and allows us to emerge with a positive outcome.
So if you're just, quote, staying positive, but you're ignoring reality, then that's not going to give you a positive outcome.
That's a very negative stance.
I believe it's a false philosophy.
But if you're a realist and you see reality for what it is and you see the circumstances...
And you see challenges.
There might be some bad news.
There might be opportunities and some good news.
And you're watching what's happening in the world and responding to it in a realistic, practical way.
Then you're going to do very well.
And that's where I try to focus.
And it just so happens that right now, or lately, there's been a lot of bad news.
That's not me.
That's the world.
In fact, actually, it's a globalist war on humanity.
They're trying to exterminate the human race.
So of course that's bad news.
When they unleashed COVID. And then the vaccines and the lockdowns.
That's all bad news.
You can't just sit in your home in a forced lockdown with a government gun to your head and say, I'm just going to be positive.
You got to be realistic about what's happening.
Or you can't just take the vaccine shot and say, I'm just going to imagine there's no negative side effects.
I'm just going to stay positive.
That doesn't work because the vaccine can kill you and it has killed millions already all over the world.
So you can't just get injected with experimental gene-altering medical cocktails and then just sit around and pretend like I'm going to stay positive.
It actually doesn't work that way.
Now, on the flip side of this conversation, it's also critical that we don't drown in doom.
And you never hear me saying, oh, it's all over.
We're all gonna die.
It's hopeless.
That's never been my message and never will be because I don't believe that.
I believe that whatever obstacles we're presented with, we can overcome them.
Well, we with the assistance of God.
That's right.
I'm a person of faith and I believe that God is part of our team, team humanity, and that with God on our side we can overcome evil and we will.
And even if we don't physically survive it, our souls survive.
So that's the ultimate optimism.
It's to believe that our souls are eternal and that as long as we work in alignment with Jesus Christ and the lessons of Christ and our Lord, then we win no matter what.
I mean, that's the ultimate optimism.
So even in a time of doom and gloom, of global collapse and starvation, famine, war, whatever, you can still win.
And you can win big.
You can win in all the ways that count by being in alignment with Christ and what God wants for us to do, which I believe is to express and protect life.
It's actually pretty simple.
But we should never drown in doom, just wallowing in bad news and feeling like it's hopeless.
And this is where I... I'm a little bit taken aback by some people who allow the doom to get them down and in some ways they'll just feel completely hopeless.
Like, oh my God, there's nothing we can do.
It's all, you know, everything's going to be lost.
Everybody's going to die.
You know, even in a nuclear war, there are survivors, by the way.
You can survive a nuclear war unless you take a direct hit.
But by and large, you can survive a nuclear war.
I'm not saying the world's going to be a pretty place.
It won't be.
But you can survive a nuclear war.
So there's no circumstance that's coming where I would say that it's just doom and gloom, end of the world, everybody's going to die, it's hopeless.
No.
I don't believe in that at all.
I think that those who want to stay stuck in doom are just as delusional as those who want to be in denial of the bad news and want to stay focused on being positive.
I think they're both delusional.
The person who is accurately assessing the situation and seeing some good and some bad and then adapting to the bad or overcoming the bad and then working to increase the good through sharing information, inspiring others, taking preparedness steps, being ready for crazy things to happen.
These are the people, the forward-looking people who are going to make it through all of these challenges.
And I would say no matter who you are, no matter what your outlook, you are in a situation that is, if you're listening to this, you are far better off than most people in our world.
I have no doubt about that.
And so we do have a lot to be thankful for, even as we face these very difficult circumstances.
Even as the globalists are literally trying to exterminate humanity.
We have tremendous resources.
We are informed.
We are intelligent.
We are mostly, for the most part, we are prepared.
And in addition, we still have the freedom to express these views like what you're hearing right now.
And a real good way to think of this is, imagine, this is a good metaphor, imagine that there is a really crazy rainstorm coming.
And the weather forecast shows you, you can see the satellite imagery, and sure enough, there's some crazy intense rain, maybe to the west of you.
This happens a lot in Texas.
It sweeps from west to east.
And it's a line.
It's a north-south line of intense storms and tornadoes and heavy, heavy rain.
And this line moves across central Texas from west to east.
And so you can see it coming.
The forecast says, you know, warning, bad weather's coming, and you might have a couple hours heads up on this, right?
So if you're an intelligent person, if you're a rational person, you're going to acknowledge, okay, Big crazy rainstorm coming?
Possible tornadoes?
How do I get prepared for that?
Right?
That's the rational thing to do.
But some of these, quote, stay positive people would rather say, oh, I'm going to pretend that there's no storm coming.
I'm just going to pretend.
And then, because I don't want to dwell in negativity.
So, you know, if you go up to them and say, ah, there's possible tornadoes touching down.
Oh, stop being negative.
There's a big rainstorm coming.
Oh, stop being negative.
Stop being sound, doom and gloom.
That's what these people are like.
And then there's also, on the other side, the super-doomer who's like, oh my god, we're gonna die!
There's nothing we can do!
The tornadoes are gonna suck us off the ground into a vortex!
And then that person's useless as well.
But again, the practical person is like, okay, storm's coming.
Let's maybe close the windows.
Tornadoes are coming.
Let's make sure we know where to go if a twister touches down.
And in my case, might have to, you know, take care of some animals, prep some animals.
You know, do we have our satellite phones working?
Do we have a backup food supplies, emergency contact information just in case?
Should we park our cars in a garage?
Or in a barn or whatever your circumstances are.
These are practical questions.
It's not to say you're going to live in doom.
You're just acknowledging there's a storm coming.
There's tornadoes in that storm.
There's heavy rain.
There's probably flooding, like flash flooding warnings and so on.
So how do we deal with the reality of what that is?
There's the wise person.
So you don't arbitrarily say, I'm just gonna be positive no matter what, or I'm gonna be negative no matter what.
You deal with the forecast of what's coming.
And in that metaphor, it's the forecast of rain.
But we also have forecasts of economic collapse and forecasts of World War III, you know, geopolitical forecasts.
And there are forecasts of food shortages and so on and so forth.
Lots of different forecasts.
So you get to decide what all those forecasts mean.
And then take action accordingly.
But those forecasts may be negative, they may be positive, but they are not to be ignored.
So thank you for listening.
