I think that one of the reasons or a couple of reasons why they chose Senator Slotkin is because she won a state in which Kamala Harris didn't during the same time frame by several points.
It is because she is from the Midwest and people believe that she appeals to American voters in a way that They think that the Democratic message was lacking this election.
She is somebody who comes from a national security background, so she can talk about that from a firsthand point.
And people believe that she's more down to earth.
I think the other really interesting thing about Senator Slockett is that she was actually among some of the Democrats to pretty early question the vitality of Joe Biden, question whether or not that should be the party leader, whether or not he should be on the ticket in a way that other folks didn't.
And so I think that she has a big platform today.
And, you know, it will be, you know, time will only tell whether or not she delivers or will.
Whether or not people like her message, but certainly, you know, this is an area for Democrats in which, you know, they don't have a real leader.
We just saw the Senate leave the chamber.
They are out of session now.
And this is live in Statuary Hall.
As you can see, it did not take long for the Senate to make its way over to Stat Hall.
J.D. Vance leading the charge of senators.
I also wanted to piggyback a little bit on what Jasmine was saying about Senator Slotkin.
She, you know, was first elected in 2018 as part of this.
A kind of national security democratic moms group with people like Abigail Spanberger, who left Congress and is now running for governor.
Right, former assistant defense secretary for the Obama administration.
Right, Slotkin, and also a former CIA analyst.
Spanberger, another former CIA officer.
Running for governor now in Virginia.
Right, and so, and Mikey Sherrill, who's a combat pilot, is also running for governor.
Running for governor of New Jersey.
New Jersey.
All Democrats.
Right, all Democrats, all women, all national security backgrounds, all moms.
You know, they're very...
They're dream candidates, and they were part of that big wave when the Democrats reclaimed the majority in 2018. And I think that what Democratic operatives are looking for is more of the same, if they can tap into that kind of imagery and also their expertise.
Well, it looks there like Angus King, the gentleman with the mustache right behind...
Right behind him is Rand Paul walking in with a senator from Washington State and Maggie Hassan from New Hampshire.
So it does look like they are doing the D and the R thing like they have done in the past here.
I would love to see some of these dynamics as you get down to the last bit.
It's almost like being picked last for a basketball game.
Some people are naturally very compatible.
And then sometimes you get stuck with somebody who you can't imagine ever having to want to take a photo with.
You're like, please don't film me.
I mean, it's interesting.
We just saw Senator Katie Britt of Alabama go past, and she obviously gave the rebuttal last year.
And that was, frankly, not a great moment for her.
I think that people did not receive it well.
It felt a little bit odd, her speaking, the way that she was speaking during it.
And if you could just hold that thought for two seconds, Jasmine Wright, let's listen to Speaker Johnson.

He was just re-elected in 2020, and so he will be up.

What time do they get down there?
And the late Sheila Jackson Lee, Democrat from Texas, was famous for always being on the aisle, regardless of presidents.
I'd love to see that collection of photos.
But how long does it take if you're going to get on the aisle here?
To greet the president and everybody else.
Sometimes they get there very early, sometimes four or five hours early as soon as the security sweep is over.
It is a first-come, first-serve situation.
It's a little nerve-wracking to be that, but they want to position themselves, and whether they're Democrats or Republicans, they like those corner seats.
And there's Nancy Mace in the white dress, a Republican of South Carolina, talking to J.D. Vance.
Sometimes, I mean, it was a little lonely.
I mean, some of the other people who come to mind who get there very early, Elliot Engel, former Democrat from New York, Cynthia McKinney, a Democrat.
From Georgia.
And you'd hear about also just like small little bits of bonding, you know, sometimes for people who wouldn't necessarily spend a lot of time together, particularly, you know, Democrats and Republicans from different parts of the country and so forth.
And it is, you know, it's one of those quirky kind of rituals that makes covering Congress a lot of fun to know about.
These are things.
We've got some old photos in the Roll Call archive of people bringing newspapers and just reading them all day long, waiting for the president and people to start filling in.
And you can see the Joint Chiefs had come in.
There's Senator Scott behind J.D. Vance.
Byron Donalds running for governor of Florida as a Republican.
Big, big President Trump supporter on the campaign.
There's Chip Roy.
Republican of Texas who has been a supporter and been, you know, sometimes a little bit of an iconoclast.

Jasmine Wright, you were talking about Senator Katie Britt last year.
Up to that rebuttal, she was chosen because she was seen as a rising star and potential VP pick.
Yeah, she was seen as a rising star.
She was seen as someone who had a great future ahead of her.
I would argue that she is still really in the mix.
She is one of the White House's most used senators, most talked to senators on the Hill.
So, you know, I mean, you know, I think that they, these...
If these rebuttals go poorly, obviously it's some bad PR, but it doesn't completely derail your entire career.
But certainly, I think after hers, there were a lot of questions about whether or not she would be a good person.

He is very press friendly and very open to talking about The latest numbers that they've been able to accumulate through deportations, the fact that they would like more money from Congress to continue to do those wide-scale deportations, something that we know that Trump is going to ask Congress for again today, really trying to not just get money for deportations, but get money for a larger border security package.

Debbie Dingell's husband, John Dingell, the late John Dingell, was the Dean of the House from Dearborn, Michigan, for years and years and years, and now she's been in Congress for years.
And, of course, Hakeem Jeffries is the leader of the Democratic Party.

You actually do.
Sometimes they, particularly in the first few weeks, they would come into the press briefing after an unannounced meeting with the president because they said, you know, I hadn't been here in four years.
I wasn't invited the entire time that Joe Biden was in office.
And so they were really excited to be in there, to be back into the Oval Office, really, frankly, to be back into power.
I think, you know, the...
The president has been really adamant about having these members of Congress come over to the White House.
It's one of the...
Biggest tools that the president can use, kind of not just the power of the pulpit there, but really bringing lawmakers on Air Force One, bringing them into the Oval, allowing them into the grandness of the White House so that in turn they can give you kind of this legislative freedom to do what you will and to make your agenda become a reality.
And so I think that is what Donald Trump is using.
But we know tomorrow the House Freedom Caucus, Chip Roy, we saw him a few moments ago.
They will be going to the White House as Trump tries to pull them along.
Lindsey Graham, who we see on the screen right now, he was at the White House on Friday.
He came out to the sticks to talk to reporters after the Zelensky blow-up and kind of started, at least publicly, rolling the tires on whether or not there should be a regime change in Ukraine.
Obviously, that language has kind of softened in the last, really, like three hours.
I believe that's Lisa Murkowski coming up on the screen.
It looks like, is that Senator Smith in front of her?
Yes, Tina Smith and Catherine Cortez Masto, and he was with Ben Ray Lujan from New Mexico.

He is the designated survivor tonight, per the White House official by CNN's Caitlin Collins, reporting that, the designated survivor.
Skips out on these joint addresses, the State of the Unions, in case of a catastrophic event.
And so tonight it is the VA Secretary, Doug Collins, who will not be in the chamber.
And then you were talking about those folks that line up on the center aisle.
Billy House of Bloomberg noting that the great center aisle seat claimers of the past.
Elliott Engel, the late Sheila Jackson Lee, Michelle Bachman.
They're not there tonight, but a new group has appeared to be already getting in place.
This was hours ago at 4 p.m.
Eastern Time.

I think that, I mean, it depends on how far back you want to go.
I mean, Lyndon Johnson in 1966 moved the speech from the mid-afternoon to the evening.
You know, like, in order to catch a better audience.
And that was 1966. I mean, he saw that, you know, television helped his predecessor, John F. Kennedy, get elected.
And he wanted, you know, Linda Johnson.

These people know each other and they're kind of on the same side.
It's just interesting to watch the differences, you know, just a year.

Jason Dick that nobody in the world cares what you or I are wearing.
Last year, Joe Biden took at least a half hour to get out of the chamber.
It was a moment for him, politically, that boosted him.
That got rid of some of the rumors of mental decline, etc.
Work that room for a half an hour.
It's one of the most, in a sense, iconic things I've ever seen in politics.
And do we expect President Trump to do the same?
I don't know.
He likes to chat.
I don't know if President Trump will be there as long.
I mean, in that span, Joe Biden had like two hot mic moments that went viral.
I mean, he was there for forever.
I don't know if we expect President Trump to be there that long.
But the reality is that, as I've talked to people close to him, He is enjoying this moment.
He's happy to be back in the White House.
He's happy to have a party that responds to him, that respects him.
And he's happy, you know, back to being the center of everything.
And so I think you're going to see him show that happiness, shaking hands with his friends, shaking hands, potentially people who don't like him very much, Democrats, you know, kind of pushing them to say something, potentially.
He's kind of reveling in this moment that he has now that he's back in the White House.
And so I think he is going to be there a long time.
Whether or not he's there as long as Joe Biden, I think only time will tell.
Because Joe Biden, I mean, I remember being there, I mean, being, you know, covering it last year and being like, dang, can you leave?
I'm trying to go home.
It did have an end of the night at your high school reunion type fight.
Wrap it up, Joe.
We'll see.
We'll see what Donald Trump does.
I would guess, too, that some of that is, there's a little bit of wistfulness, like that Biden was running for re-election, but who knows what kind of doubts he may have had about his own path.
And this is like a beginning, as opposed to sort of an end, even if it seems like we've been in this loop for a while.
Yeah, you can see that the cabinet is still not completely seated.
And they're not going to bring him in while there's still people in the aisles, but he is nearby.
He's in the holding room next to the chamber and should be coming in shortly.
Just want to remind our viewers, obviously we're going to shut up as soon as the president gets in there.
We're going to listen to everything that happens.
We'll watch the president leave the room all without us.

Again, the entire speech, of course, and the Democratic response.
Senator Alyssa Slotkin, freshman Democrat from Michigan, will be speaking from Michigan, and we will bring that to you live, of course.
You can expect, you know, as they're talking about now on C-SPAN as well, Democrat Senator from the state of Michigan, Alyssa Slocken, who was a CIA analyst and worked for the government and the Bush administration and worked for who was a CIA analyst and worked for the government and the Bush administration and worked She is going to be the individual who gives the counter address to President Trump's address tonight.
Loomer Unleashed confronted her many times on the campaign trail this last election season.
If you recall, Alyssa Slocken was for open borders.
She supported open borders.
She refused to answer our questions when we asked her about the deadly flow of fentanyl into our country and why she's supporting open borders when it's allowing for so much fentanyl to pour into our nation.
She endorsed and campaigned for Kamala Harris in Michigan.
So, you know, the Democrats are really struggling right now to find their voice and to find their...
Their stance.
Post-mandate.
Because we saw that President Trump had a resounding victory.
We took the Senate.
We kept the House.
And now the Democrats are struggling.
They're flailing around and they're having a very hard time figuring out how to effectively message.
But that's the problem, is they don't really have any effective messaging.
Their new strategy is just to complain and protest about President Trump and Elon Musk on a daily basis.
So the Democrats are going to have to change up their strategy sometime soon if they plan on winning elections in the near future.

In comparison, under Joe Biden, the worst president in American history, there were hundreds of thousands of illegal crossings a month, and virtually all of them, including murderers, drug dealers, gang members, and people from mental institutions and insane asylums, were released into our country.
Who would want to do that?

And once again, I look at the Democrats in front of me and I realize there is absolutely nothing I can say to make them happy or to make them stand or smile or applaud.

3.47 million people from ages 120 to 129. 3.9 million people from ages 130 to 139. 3.5 million people.
From ages 140 to 149. And money is being paid to many of them.
And we're searching right now.

India charges us auto tariffs higher than 100%.

And South Korea's average tariff is four times higher.

This is happening by friend and foe.
This system is not fair to the United States and never was, and so on April 2nd, I wanted to make it April 1st, but I didn't want to be accused of April Fool's Day.

And whatever they tariff us, other countries, we will tariff them.

They'll be building their plants here instead of in China.
And just yesterday, Taiwan, semiconductor, the biggest in the world, most powerful in the world, has a tremendous amount, 97% of the market, announced a $165 billion investment to build the most powerful chips on Earth right here in the USA. We're
not giving them any money.
Your CHIPS Act is a horrible, horrible thing.
We give hundreds of billions of dollars, and it doesn't mean a thing.
They take our money and they don't spend it.
All that meant to them, we're giving them no money.
All that was important to them was they didn't want to pay the tariffs, so they came and they're building, and many other companies are coming.
We don't have to give them money.
We just want to protect our businesses and our people.
And they will come because they won't have to pay tariffs if they build in America.
So it's very amazing.
You should get rid of the CHIP Act.
And whatever's left over, Mr. Speaker, you should use it to reduce debt.

Our new trade policy will also be great for the American farmer.

Just today, a large American company announced they are buying both ports around the Panama Canal and lots of other things having to do with the Panama Canal and a couple of other canals.

38,000 workers died.

They died of malaria.

Simultaneously, we've had serious discussions with Russia.
And have received strong signals that they are ready for peace.

So a lot of very inspirational, viral moments.

It's going viral all over social media, but that's what you get with President Trump.
There's always viral moments because not only does he have charisma, but I would say that President Trump is probably the most inspirational president in modern history, if not the most inspirational president ever in American history that we have ever had.
And so every single time President Trump speaks, I just feel that...
You know, he's inspiring another generation of leaders.
And it's sad to see the Democrats have such a lack of decorum.
I mean, look, I can't stand Marjorie Trader Greene, as I call her, as many of you know.
But I will say, I remember when the Democrats went absolutely ballistic, when Marjorie Taylor Greene and Lauren Boebert booed Joe Biden after the death of 13 U.S. service members.

So my warning is just, you know, we need to have cabinet members and we need to have elected Republicans actually fully support and keep their promises to the American people, just like President Trump has kept his promises to the American people, or else we will see the Republican base get a malaise.
It doesn't matter, you know, how good President Trump is, but we will see this malaise come 2026 in the midterms if these elected Republicans do not provide President Trump with the support that he needs in order to deliver to the American people.

But I think that going into this address, this was probably my biggest concern.
And we've seen that President Trump has no problem commanding the attention of the nation and delivering an inspiring speech.

is over these next several years and also within the next year from now to the midterm elections is whether or not his cabinet can keep up, whether or not his cabinet will deliver.
And I hope that they will.
I hope that the cabinet will be successful.
But President Trump can't do everything on his own.

Let's see what people thought about the speech tonight, whether you agree with my assessment.
I mean, look, I was obviously expecting President Trump to knock it out of the ballpark, but I will say that given what we saw this last week from some of his cabinet members, it's a bit concerning.
It's a bit concerning because we want to make sure that President Trump's legacy is going to remain intact and won't be tarnished by the deficiencies by some of the members within his cabinet.
I'll always support President Trump.
I think he's amazing.
I find him to be the most inspirational president, as I said before, that we've ever had in this country.
But I would be lying if I said that I wasn't a little soured this last week by some of the actions of his cabinet members, specifically Pam Bondi.
Aside from that, I think that President Trump had an amazing speech tonight, delivered an incredible speech, and I want to see what all of you have to say about it as well.
Let's see.
President Trump did a great job.
I want his cabinet to be successful.
Look, we all want President Trump's cabinet to be successful.
But my biggest concern is that you're going to have some of these incidents where, look, President Trump's doing a great job and him and his staff aren't aware of everything that all of his cabinet members are doing at any given moment.
And what my biggest concern is, is that we're going to have these one-off moments from various cabinet members that...
You know, either due to a lack of vetting or a lack of organization or just pure incompetence by some of these individuals, that it creates embarrassment for the Trump administration.
We shall see.
Somebody, a lot of people, a lot of you agree with me.

You said, I agree.
I felt it was commanding, empathetic to Americans and stern to the world that America is no longer going to be suckered by guilt.
Absolutely.
It didn't sound like a vindictive campaign speech like Biden's speeches were, if you remember.
It always felt like he was lecturing MAGA and demonizing half the country.
President Trump has this ability to make all Americans feel welcome in his speeches, regardless of, you know, whether or not they voted for him, which is another reason why it was.
So disgraceful what the Democrats did because, well, I thought that was an insurrection.
We were lectured for years about how protests within official government proceedings, this was an official government proceeding, an official government event inside the United States Capitol Rotunda there.
You know, you just see the Democrats' hypocrisy on full display.
I thought that this was an insurrection, right?
They're organizing protests where you have members of Congress, the Democrat Party, of course, Hanging out with protesters who are holding signs outside of this address tonight that were advocating for the death of Elon Musk and the death of President Trump.
So again, we're seeing really just a repeat of...
When I say a repeat of the first term, I'm not necessarily talking about Trump's cabinet and the Trump administration, but just a repeat of the resistance.
And President Trump made this point very well tonight when he said, you know, it doesn't matter if I were to find the cure to the worst illness and the worst disease in the world, they would still find a way to demonize me.
They are never able to give this man credit for anything, even when he's praising a child who survived brain cancer.
It's quite incredible when you think about it.

It's a sad state of affairs for our country, because what is it going to mean for Americans and also just the future of our country after these next four years when we aren't going to have President Trump?
We're not going to have President Trump forever, sadly.
He isn't a king, and we do not have a monarchy in this country, despite what some people in the Democrat Party are proclaiming or what some of the new technocrats in the Trump administration would hope.
We do not have a monarchy, and we do not have kings in this country.
And so I said tonight, You know, Donald Trump is so good.
He's so inspirational.
And he has such a commanding authority to him when he speaks.
And he's such a strong leader that I'm worried that there isn't going to be a successor.
And so while the Democrat Party is so helplessly far gone and they are so depraved and they are so deranged to the point where, you know, your average American has moved so far away.
From calling themselves a proud Democrat or being able to admit that they would proudly support the Democrat Party, my greatest fear is what is to come after Trump.
Because truly, there is nobody, when you watch President Trump speak and when you watch him command the authority that he has during these speeches and also just during these addresses, whatever they may be, an address to Congress, a campaign speech, a campaign rally.
There is nobody in the Republican Party.
And look, I like J.D. Vance, but I would say even J.D. Vance included.
There is nobody in the Republican Party who has what it takes to be Donald Trump's successor.
There's nobody.
So hopefully he's coaching J.D. I mean, look, I think that obviously there's a lot of differences between President Trump and J.D. And I like J.D. I don't have anything against J.D. But is J.D. Vance Trump?
No.
I mean, I think that he tries to emulate President Trump, and I think that J.D. Vance has a lot of very strong characteristics.
But I want to get your take on this because I personally think that there's nobody currently within the Republican Party who could truly call themselves Trump's successor.
Nobody.
I don't really see how Alyssa Slocken, Eliza, Alyssa, whatever the hell she calls herself, this Democrat, former spook CIA agent who worked for Obama and Bush, who's now a Democrat senator, who is now giving the rebuttal address.
Perhaps we can get that pulled up, Cannon.
Let's see if we can get Alyssa Slocken's rebuttal address pulled up.
If not, it's fine.
But not that it's really going to be inspirational.
But I don't really see how the Democrats are going to counter what President Trump said tonight.
Because we'll...
Everything he said is true.
Everything President Trump said is completely true.
And we are in this new golden age of America, and things aren't perfect.
Things are not perfect.
Like I said, there are some disappointments thus far with not President Trump, but I would say members of his cabinet.
Here we go.
Let's cut to Alyssa Slocken, who's now beginning her address.
This is the Democrat rebuttal.
I've been in public service my entire life because I happened to be in New York City on 9/11 when the Twin Towers came down.
Before the smoke cleared, I knew I wanted to make a life in national security.
I was recruited by the CIA and did three tours in Iraq alongside the military.
In between, I worked at the White House under President Bush and President Obama, two very different leaders who both believed that America is exceptional.
You can find that same sense of patriotism here in Wyandotte, Michigan, where I'm speaking from tonight.
It's a working-class town just south of Detroit.
President Trump and I both won here in November.
It might not seem like it, but plenty of places like this still exist across the United States, places where people believe that if you work hard and play by the rules, you should do well and your kids should do better.
It reminds me of how I grew up.
My dad was a lifelong Republican, by mom a lifelong Democrat, but it was never a big deal because we had shared values that were bigger than any one party.
We just went through another fraught election season.
Americans made it clear that prices are too high and that the government needs to be more responsive to their needs.
America wants change, but there's a responsible way to make change and a reckless way.
And we can make that change without forgetting who we are as a country and as a democracy.
So that's what I'm going to lay out tonight.
Because whether you're from Wyandotte or Wichita, most Americans share three core beliefs.
That the middle class is the engine of our country, that strong national security protects us from harm, and that our democracy, no matter how messy, is unparalleled and worth fighting for.
Let's start with the economy.
Michigan literally invented the middle class.
The revolutionary idea that you could work at an auto plant and afford the car you were building.
That's the American dream.
And in order to expand and protect the middle class, we have to do a few basic things.
We need to bring down the price of things we spend the most money on.
Groceries, housing, health care.
We need to make more things in America with good-paying union jobs and bring our supply chains back home from places like China.
We need to give American businesses the certainty they need to invest and create the jobs of the future.
And we need a tax system that's fair for people who don't happen to make a billion dollars.
Look, the president talked a big game on the economy, but it's always important to read the fine print.
So, do his plans actually help Americans get ahead?
Not even close.
President Trump is trying to deliver an unprecedented giveaway to his billionaire friends.
He's on the hunt to find trillions of dollars to pass along to the wealthiest in America.
And to do that, he's going to make you pay in every part of your life.
Grocery and home prices are going up, not down, and he hasn't laid out a credible plan to deal with either of those.
His tariffs on allies like Canada will raise prices on energy, lumber, and cars, and start a trade war that will hurt manufacturing and farmers.
Your premiums and prescriptions will cost more because the math on his proposals doesn't work without going after your health care.
Meanwhile, for those keeping score, the national debt is going up, not down.
And if he's not careful, he could walk us right into a recession.
And one more thing.
In order to pay for his plan, he could very well come after your retirement.
The Social Security, Medicare, and VA benefits you worked your whole life to earn.
The president claims he won't, but Elon Musk just called Social Security the biggest Ponzi scheme of all time.
While we're on the subject of Elon Musk, is there anyone in America who is comfortable with him and his gang of 20-year-olds using their own computer servers to poke through your tax returns, your health information, and your bank accounts?
No oversight, no protections against cyber attack, no guardrails on what they do with your private data.
We need a more efficient government.
You want to cut waste?
I'll help you do it.
But change doesn't need to be chaotic or make us less safe.
The mindless firing of people who work to protect our nuclear weapons, keep our planes from crashing, and conduct the research that finds the cure for cancer, only to rehire them two days later?
No CEO in America could do that without being summarily fired.
Okay, so we've talked about economic security.
How about national security?
Let's start with the border.
As someone who spent my whole career protecting our homeland, every country deserves to know who and what is coming across its border.
Period.
Democrats and Republicans should all be for that.
But securing the border without actually fixing our broken immigration system is dealing with the symptom and not the disease.
America is a nation of immigrants.
We need a functional system keyed to the needs of our economy.
That allows vetted people to come and work here legally.
So I look forward to the president's plan on that.
President Trump loves to say peace through strength.
That's actually a line he stole from Ronald Reagan.
But let me tell you, after the spectacle that just took place in the Oval Office last week, Reagan must be rolling in his grave.
We all want an end to the war in Ukraine.
But Reagan understood that true strength required America to combine our military and economic might with moral clarity.
And that scene in the Oval Office wasn't just a bad episode of reality TV. It summed up Trump's whole approach to the world.
He believes in cozying up to dictators like Vladimir Putin and kicking our friends like the Canadians in the teeth.
He sees American leadership as merely a series of real estate transactions.
As a Cold War kid, I'm thankful it was Reagan and not Trump in office in the 1980s.
Trump would have lost us the Cold War.
Donald Trump's actions suggest that in his heart, he doesn't believe we're an exceptional nation.
He clearly doesn't think we should lead the world.
Look, America is not perfect, but I stand with the majority of Americans who believe we are still exceptional, unparalleled.
And I would rather have American leadership over Chinese or Russian leadership any day of the week.
Because for generations, America has offered something better.
Our security and our prosperity, yes, but our democracy, our very system of government, has been the aspiration of the world.
And right now, it's at risk.
It's at risk when the president decides you can pick and choose what rules you want to follow, when he ignores court orders and the Constitution itself, or when elected leaders stand by and just let it happen.
But it's also at risk when the president pits Americans against each other, when he demonizes those who are different and tells certain people they shouldn't be included.
Because America is not just a patch of land between two oceans.
We are more than that.
Generations have fought and died to secure the fundamental rights that define us.
Those rights and the fight for them make us who we are.
We're a nation of strivers, risk-takers, innovators, and we are never satisfied.
That is America's superpower.
And look, I've lived and worked in many countries.
I've seen democracies flicker out.
I've seen what life is like when a government is rigged.
You can't open a business without paying off a corrupt official.
You can't criticize the guys in charge without getting a knock at the door in the middle of the night.
So as much as we need to make our government more responsive to our lives today, don't for one moment fool yourself that democracy isn't precious and worth saving.
But how do we actually do that?
I know a lot of you have been asking that question.
First, don't tune out.
It's easy to be exhausted, but America needs you now more than ever.
If previous generations had not fought for this democracy, where would we be today?
Second, hold your elected officials, including me, accountable.
Watch how they're voting.
Go to town halls and demand they take action.
That's as American as apple pie.
Third, organize.
Pick just one issue you're passionate about and engage.
And doom scrolling doesn't count.
Join a group that cares about your issue and act.
And if you can't find one, start one.
Some of the most important movements in our history have come from the bottle up.
In closing, we all know that our country is going through something right now.
We're not sure what the next day is going to hold, let alone the next decade.
But this isn't the first time we've experienced significant and tumultuous change as a country.
I'm a student of history, and we've gone through periods of political instability before.
And ultimately, we've chosen to keep changing this country for the better.
But every single time, we've only gotten through those moments because of two things.
Engaged citizens and principled leaders.
Engaged citizens who do a little bit more than they're used to doing to fight for the things that they care about.
And principled leaders who are ready to receive the ball and do something about it.
So thank you tonight for caring about your country.
Just by watching you qualify as engaged citizens.
And I promise that I and my fellow Democrats will do everything in our power to be the principal leaders that you deserve.

Just a bunch of nothing.
I mean, really, she didn't really say anything.
It sounds like a pep talk, like, hey guys, you know, I know you're feeling really defeated, but we all have to stick together and not give up.
And I mean, the one thing that I will say that I think that people on the left and the right are getting a little tired of is, you know, unelected.
Technocratic billionaires occupying space in the White House.
I mean, that is like the only thing I will say that the Republicans and the Democrats maybe share common ground on is that, you know, you have people on the left, the middle and the right who are saying, you know, I don't really feel comfortable with unelected bureaucrats, which also includes billionaire donors who maybe they're doing good work.
Maybe they're not, depending on who you ask.
I would say that that is like the only fair point.
That was mentioned by Alyssa Slotkin in that I think this is going to become an issue, and I've said this from the get-go, that there are going to be people who become resentful, whether it be because they themselves are laid off or because they get fatigued from seeing a lot of these big tech executives and billionaires in the White House.
But I really do think that class warfare and Classism is going to be one of the top issues in America driving political discourse come 2026. So I will say that unfortunately the Democrats are incapable of messaging that in a coherent manner and finding common ground because They're not able to give credit where credit's due, right?
Like, give President Trump credit for the good things that he does, give Elon Musk credit for the good things that he does, while making points in a way that would invite your average American or maybe somebody who isn't politically affiliated but is also kind of annoyed with the What many would say is overbearing presence of these big tech executives in the White House.
If they were to say it in a more diplomatic way, they would find that there are a lot of people on the right who feel this way.
There were a lot of people on the right tonight who were kind of subtweeting this.
And these are people who are diehard Trump supporters.
The Democrats, though, are never going to give credit where credit's due.
And if you want to actually have real change or find common ground, then it can't just be constant attack, attack, attack, attack without giving credit.
You have to admit when your so-called enemies do something good, and you have to be willing to have a peaceful conversation with them without demonizing them and their colleagues and all of their associates as being...
Hitler, or as being fascist, or as being totalitarians in nature.
But I will say, I tweeted, I said, I think that Alyssa Slocken needs to lose weight.
Some people said, oh, that's a stupid, petty thing to say.
I don't.
Look, the Republican Party is now cool.
They used to say that Republicans were not cool.
Well, being conservative is the new counterculture.
So, again, why after having this Massive defeat on election day with the Democrats have an overweight deep stater who, you know, is just speaking like a Karen.
When I say she's an overweight deep stater, I mean, she's morbidly obese.
And the outfit that she was wearing tonight was much more slimming than what this woman looks like in person because Loomer Unleashed has actually confronted Alyssa Slocken.
She is morbid, okay, morbid in her size.
And I bring this up.
Because it's important, right?
The Democrats are out here encouraging people to live unhealthy lifestyles.
They're trying to glamorize weakness.
They're trying to glamorize obesity.
They're trying to glamorize the LGBTQ agenda and transmutilation of children.
They're trying to glamorize things that are really just not aesthetically appealing or just aesthetically satisfying.
And so you would think that if the Democrats truly wanted to have a rebuttal or they wanted to inspire the next generation of Democrats to really, you know, join their so-called resistance and to oppose President Trump and to get excited about the midterms, you would think that you would have a woman that...
You know, actually put a little bit of care into their personal appearance and a little bit of care into how they carry themselves.
Because I don't want to be lectured about how somebody is so bad as an elected official or how awful my decision-making is as a Trump voter or how awful Trump voters' decisions were to put Donald Trump back into the White House by a woman who can't even control how much food she's putting in her mouth.
And so the Democrats are going to have to come to terms with the fact that their glorification of terrible aesthetics is one of the things that pushed so many people away.
And a lot of people say, oh, well, that's really petty.
You should just focus on the policy.
Well, why do you think that so many first-time voters and so many independents and so many youth, so many first-time voters voted for Trump over Biden?
Why do you think that they voted for Republicans over Democrats?
There is an aesthetics crisis within the Democrat Party.
There is.
There's an aesthetics crisis within the Democrat Party.
And so I'm just being honest here.
So I'm not trying to be disrespectful about a woman and her appearance, but she just looks very disheveled.
She was posting photos of herself eating donuts before the rebuttal address tonight.
I mean, honestly, if you are that big, you should not be eating donuts before you You know, get in front of a camera to give the so-called rebuttal to President Trump's address tonight.
And I don't think that the Democrats realize that people look at these things and they see somebody like Donald Trump, a successful billionaire, gorgeous wife, gorgeous children, children who are put together.
He's cool.
He's embraced by all of these culture icons in our society.
And then you have Joe Biden, Sleepy Joe, and you have these disheveled Democrats that are trying to make it so that men can destroy women's sports and so that children can be sexually mutilated so that you can be murdered by illegal aliens or poisoned by fentanyl.
And everything that they support and everything that they put front and center is just ugly.
Right?
It's just ugly.
There's no aesthetic appeal to it.
It just has no inspirational value or inspirational element to it at all.
And so I would disagree with the people that are saying, oh, you know, you shouldn't say that Alyssa Slocken should lose weight.
That has nothing to do with the substance of, you know, the address that she gave tonight.
It actually does have everything to do with...
with the substance of what she said tonight because the Democrats are going to continue losing and the Democrats are going to keep on repelling people and also pushing voters away from their party as long as they continue to glorify and platform gross people who promote degeneracy who promote unhealthy habits and who promote A lifestyle of degeneracy and make it so that you think it's
okay to be a slob, so that you think it's okay to be mediocre and simply rewarded.
For the color of your skin or your sexual orientation as opposed to how hard you work.
And that's what President Trump is talking about when he's talking about the golden age of America.
We're going to make things beautiful again.
We're going to get rid of all the graffiti.
We're going to get rid of all of the trash.
You know, we're going to get rid of all these terrible Democrat policies that destroyed our society, destroyed our culture, destroyed our youth, destroyed our border, destroyed our country that just made everything so ugly.
And when I look at somebody who's so grotesque, like an Alyssa Slocken, I just think to myself, the Democrats just project this image of disheveledness and this image of this total lack of respect and a lack of attention to aesthetic appeal.
And so for me, you know, it's not about being shallow.
It's not about being judgmental.
It's just this desire to finally get away from all of this Non-inspirational, you know, everybody gets a trophy bullshit that the Democrats have been promoting and just shoving down our throats for the last four years.
I just am kind of repulsed by it.
And so I don't really understand how people can find anything wrong with what President Trump said tonight.
I understand that there can be issues that we, you know, all find to be a little bit distasteful.
Like, I agree, this idea of an oligarchy or the Enormous amount of power that these so-called tech oligarchs and tech executives and tech billionaires now have with their proximity to President Trump.
But there's a way to talk about that without coming across like a lunatic.
There's a way to talk about that without waving a Hamas flag or waving a Ukraine flag in the middle of the street and uniting with people that are calling for President Trump to be killed and dressing up like Luigi Mangione outside of these protests, right?
And I don't know, it's just the Democrats are, they seem to be kind of either unwilling to accept this reality or just completely deranged by years of Trump derangement syndrome that they have no idea how or what is considered appealing to the everyday American.
I don't know if you agree with me or not.
I mean, some people didn't like my comment about...
Her looks and her appearance and her weight, but I just personally think that the Democrats are going to continue to lose as long as they continue to project this unhealthy aura.
Not just an unhealthy aura about the lifestyle choices of these politicians in the Democrat Party, but also just an unhealthy aesthetic for the future of our country.
And that's what people voted against this last election season.
And that is one of the reasons why so many people, especially so many young people, overwhelmingly voted Republican as opposed to Democrat.
Yeah.
Reality Storyline said, avoid a spirit, Laura, avoid a spirit.
They're losing their soul.
Yeah, I mean, I think that that's honestly what it is.
They honestly just have no concept of what is good, what is pure, what is aesthetically pleasing, what is beautiful.
And again, when you surround yourself with this kind of like low standard and you embrace people who have poor lifestyle choices and you make exceptions for people who are...
Severely obese and you make exceptions for people who are severely mentally ill and you try to platform that and make that the new normal, it's going to have serious social consequences.
And the Democrats are now reeling from it.
They cannot, no matter what they do, they cannot find their footing.
And it's incredible to see this cultural and also just this social shift in our society because you see how the Democrats for years were considered the cool party, right?
The party of Hollywood, the party of pop culture, and the party that was going to dictate the social norms and the culture.
And now there's nothing more uncool than being a Democrat.
I don't know if you would agree, but I personally think that there's no greater insult that you could give somebody in our society currently.
Then they're like a radical leftist or a member of the Democrat Party.
It's almost just completely embarrassing.
I would be absolutely ashamed and embarrassed to say that I was a member of the Democrat Party.
So it's over.
Her rebuttal was not really much of a rebuttal because as I said before, what are they truly going to rebut?
They have nothing to say.
It was just a little pep talk.

They've barely been in their positions for a week now.
And so you just have to ask yourself, who's doing the Democrats' messaging for them?

They're just not very smart.

I am just sitting here as a woman, especially.
Like, they think that having a woman to counter Trump is going to appeal to women.
They need to understand that nobody gives a shit about all this gender warfare anymore.
Nobody cares.
You're not going to inspire people by having a woman who is a law enforcement agent who's also a lesbian get up on the stage and give a counter-rebuttal address to President Trump.
Gone are the days of identity politics.
We are eradicating DEI, okay?
We are eradicating glorification for federal law enforcement and federal agents who weaponize our agencies, that of which Alyssa Slokin had no problem doing as a federal law enforcement agent under the Bush administration and the Obama administration, okay?
We are...
We are not glorifying these corrupt cops anymore.
We're not.
We respect law enforcement here on the right, but gone are the days of just giving blanket respect to federal law enforcement agencies that have weaponized their agencies to, you know, interfere in our elections, to illegally spy on presidential candidates, to illegally spy on the American people.
So I don't know what the Democrats were thinking.
Absolute failure.
I mean, isn't there anybody else who is a little bit more appealing, both aesthetically and also in terms of their resume, who could have given the rebuttal tonight?
It's crazy.
I just don't see how the Democrats have a comeback.

The only thing, as I said before, that Republicans need to be careful of is not having these one-off screw-ups by members of the Trump administration.
Trump himself is doing a good job, but some of his cabinet members are already breaking their promises and turning off a lot of people in the MAGA base.
So we need to make sure that a malaise is not created ahead of the midterms because that is what will stunt voter turnout.
That's why we need to be aggressive, just like I've been aggressive against Pam Bondi over the last few days, getting called out a lot from members of the Republican Party who are telling me that I need to calm down.
Calm down for what?
These people are going to cost us the midterms if we don't hold them accountable.
They want to embarrass President Trump and they want to sabotage his America First agenda.
We can't allow them to get away with doing that.
So no, I will not shut up and I will not stop attacking Republicans because we need to make sure that Republicans keep in line and that they are held accountable.
And that they are called out every single time they say something or do something that goes against President Trump's agenda or creates an embarrassment for his administration.
So, no.
I'm not going to apologize alrighty everybody Well, that's it for tonight.
