The Tragedy of Trump

Time Text
Hello, I'm Jared Taylor with American Renaissance.
Donald Trump may have come into office as the most insurgent presidential candidate in American history.
He defeated the two most powerful political dynasties of our time, the Bushes and the Clintons.
And he did it with promises that excited ordinary Americans.
Build the wall.
Deport illegals.
End birthright citizenship.
Keep out Muslims.
Rebuild infrastructure.
Put our interests first and make America great again.
Of course, this baffled and infuriated the entire American political class.
And it gave whites hope.
Would Donald Trump slow or even reverse the dispossession of the people who founded this country?
Well, President Trump has mostly governed like a typical Republican.
Tax breaks for business.
Fight Obamacare.
And he joined Democrats for a feel-good sentencing reform that has already turned loose thousands of felons.
What was the campaign promise that most excited the voters?
Heal that war!
Build that wall!
Build that wall!
And who was supposed to pay for it?
Believe it or not, on the Trump campaign website, there is still a plan to make Mexico pay.
It starts with changing the regulations on remittances to Mexico on day one.
Well, he didn't do it.
And how's the wall coming along after 30 months in office?
Customs and Border Patrol reports that there hasn't been one mile of new wall.
Mr. Trump has refurbished parts of the wall that were falling down, but there hasn't been one inch of new construction.
Donald Trump broke his number one promise.
Now, it's true that Congress and the courts fought him, but he could have fought back harder, and he never even tried to tax the $24 billion in remittances that go south of the border every year.
Something else Donald Trump was going to do on day one, and that was cancel the so-called DACA amnesty for young illegals that President Obama granted by unilateral executive order.
President Trump broke that promise, too.
He piddled around and then asked Congress to grant the very same amnesty.
Mr. Trump could do great things just by signing his name.
Any pregnant foreigner who sneaks in and gives birth on American soil becomes the mother of a brand new U.S. citizen.
The president could order an end to that.
The ACLU would go screaming to the courts, but the issue would finally get thrashed out.
Doing nothing means illegals keep having 300,000 anchor babies every year, and almost always you get to pay the hospital bills.
What annoys me as much as anything It's Donald Trump's hot air.
He promised to keep the government shut down for as long as it takes to make Congress pay for the wall.
He gave up after 35 days.
And there's more.
There is a ridiculous law that prevents the Border Patrol from turning back illegals from Central America if they show up with a child.
Mr. Trump gave Congress two weeks to change the law or else.
Well, of course, Congress ignored him.
And on June 18th, Trump promised mass deportations of millions of illegal aliens next week.
Well, just this Tuesday, more than a month after all that bluster, this was the news.
President Trump vowed millions of immigration arrests in dramatic raids.
ICE caught 18 family members.
Actually, ICE caught 35 illegals.
And don't forget...
These are people who have final deportation orders.
They exhausted every appeal.
And an immigration judge said, clear out.
And then they stayed.
It's like getting a 20-year sentence for murder.
The judge says, you're going to jail.
But you just walk out and go about your business.
There are 1 million illegals, out of a total of maybe even 30 million illegals, who are still here.
After a judge says, you're out of here.
What kind of country puts up with that?
And there is no law, no court, that can stop Donald Trump deporting them.
And he sits on his hands.
Now, I know Hillary would have been worse.
But honestly, what has this president accomplished?
Has he made any effort to start an honest conversation about race?
No. He doesn't even point out that every day, Immigration is bringing us closer to a permanent Democrat majority.
His own party is facing the firing squad.
And what does he do?
Start yet another embarrassing campaign to try to persuade Mexicans to vote Republican.
And because the country can't talk honestly about race, reasonable policy solutions are impossible.
That's why the country feels like it's falling apart.
Even with a booming economy and low unemployment.
Lefties accuse President Trump of emboldening people who stand up for whites.
Ha! If anything, by making lefties angry, he's made it more acceptable to de-platformers.
He then yells about the terrible bias in social media.
But what's he done about that?
Nothing. Earlier this month, he held a social media summit at the White House that didn't produce a single policy proposal.
And he didn't invite anyone who's actually been deplatformed, not even Alex Jones, even though when candidate Trump was on the Alex Jones show, he promised, I will not let you down.
What a friend we have in Donald.
Candidate Trump...
Also said we will get tired of winning.
We haven't won anything.
No wall.
Anchor babies still get passports.
Illegals get deportation orders and laugh at us.
And Mr. Trump has done nothing about the anti-white laws that go under the innocent-sounding name of affirmative action.
But we still have a stake in Donald Trump.
Whatever he really thinks.
He is a symbol of white America.
His fight is our fight because he has accomplished something very important.
Simply by not constantly apologizing for white privilege and systemic racism, and by occasionally telling an uppity Somali to go back where she came from, he has so infuriated our opponents that they have shown their hand more clearly than ever.
They now say openly, That the political divide is a racial divide.
And that we, white people who built the country, we are the main obstacle to progress.
So this is the tragedy of Donald Trump.
He came into office with a free hand.
All by himself, he could have completely changed the way the country talks about race and immigration.
He didn't.
And he won't.
But in his bumbling, blowhard, vulgar way, he has goaded the left into drawing the clearest battle lines this country has seen since 1861.
More whites than ever are crossing over the line to our side, and they know if we are going to win, we'll have to be fighting ourselves.
ourselves.
