	Zelensky announces there's not going to be peace.
	If you listen long enough, people will eventually tell you exactly what they truly believe.
	Unfortunately, we have just learned what Ukrainian President Voltmir Zelensky truly believes about the war with Russia, and it's not good news.
	Apparently, Zelensky is convinced there'll not be a permanent state of peace until all of Donetsk, all of Luhans, all of Crimea belong to his government again.
	Needless to say, Russia will never hand all of Donetsk, all of Luhans, and all of Crimea over to Ukraine willingly.
	And so they would have to be taken by force.
	Since the Ukrainians cannot do this alone, they'll be seeking to enlist the help of others.
	And that is what should deeply alarm us all.
	Meanwhile, John Mearsheimer observes, ignoring brute facts, end of the line for diplomacy with Ukraine.
	I was on the Duran with Glenn Deeson and Alexander Mercouraz.
	We talked mainly about European leaders and President Zelensky, how they continue to act toward Russia and the United States in ways that make little strategic sense.
	Given realities on the battlefield and well-established Russian demands for ending the war, watching them in action is a head-scratching exercise.
	Hi, everyone, and welcome back.
	My name is Glenn Deason, and I'm joined today by John Mershheimer and Alexander McCurse to discuss these developments in the Ukraine proxy war.
	So it's good to see you both again.
	And I guess there's a lot to discuss.
	That is, Trump began his presidency by recognizing three main criteria.
	No NATO, except territorial concessions, and there will be no American security guarantees, which is more or less what Russia had demanded.
	I guess why the three of us were a bit optimistic at the time, but then he went back to the unconditional ceasefire, which means not actually addressing any of the things that Russia demanded.
	And now there's been this sudden return, or at least seemingly a return to no NATO, some territorial concessions, yet a lot of ambiguity what exactly security guarantees would entail.
	So I'm very interested to hear what the two of you make of this.
	John, shall I stop?
	I mean, I will say this.
	I'll say this.
	I mean, I think that this whole idea of security guarantees came out of discussions that he had with Putin, in which clearly they did discuss the security situation in Europe and in Ukraine.
	And this is where I'm starting to get concerned, because it was then taken away from that meeting in Alaska as if the Russians had agreed to security guarantees, which at least I don't think they have, at least not in the sense that they're being talked about in Europe now and by Trump himself.
	Trump sometimes gives the impression that he's giving security guarantees to Ukraine on behalf of the United States.
	Then he pulls back on that.
	Then one moment he talks no troops on the ground.
	Then he floats the idea of the United States playing some kind of a role in terms of air power and all of that.
	Then we are back to talking about sending European troops to Ukraine and the Europeans giving security guarantees, but supported in this by the United States.
	The Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has now given quite quite clear over the course of an interview that the Russians are not in agreement with any of this.
	There were security guarantees negotiated between the Russians and the Ukrainians back in April 2022 as part of the Istanbul Agreement.
	I think the word guarantee, by the way, is altogether too strong.
	There were some kind of security assurances.
	There was going to be a collection of countries that were going to say that Ukraine should be protected within its own territory at the end of the war.
	One of those countries was going to be Russia.
	The European countries and the United States would be those countries, other countries as well.
	That's a silly, silly idea.
	Russia would never agree to it.
	You know what?
	Any NATO forces anywhere near Ukraine and Ukraine cannot become a member of NATO.
	Zelensky is doing his best to try to work around it, as are many Europeans who want the war to continue.
	Meanwhile, it turns out Putin vetoed an Oreshnik strike on Kiev.
	The Russian president rejected a proposal to wipe out Ukraine decision-making centers with hypersonic missiles.
	The leader of Belarus has declared Russian President Vladimir Putin vetoed a proposal to strike the administrative center.
	This is a command and control center of Kiev with Moscow's new Arashnik missiles.
	His Belarusian counterpart, Alexander Lukashenko, has said the Orechnik, Russia newly developed medium-range hypersonic missile, which can travel at speeds up to Mach 10, has already entered serial production.
	The system, which analysts claim cannot be intercepted, can carry nuclear or conventional warheads and release multiple guided warheads.
	I think altogether, 36, six pods, each with six different independently targetable warheads, 36.
	Beginning to reports in Miss Friday, Lukashenko claimed unnamed figures in Russia suggested using against Kiev's decision-making centers.
	But Putin refused.
	Absolutely not, was the Russian leader's response.
	According to the Belarusian president, who added, if such a strike had taken place, there would have been nothing left.
	Putin had previously said the West had been trying to provoke Russia into using nuclear weapons in Ukraine, but noted that there'd been no need for such measures.
	I hope it won't be necessary, he said in May.
	Meanwhile, Trump says Putin is putting off a Zelensky summit because he doesn't like him.
	Well, how could anyone like this guy?
	Donald Trump said he believed Vladimir Putin is avoiding meeting his Ukrainian counterpart, Volta Mir Zelensky, simply due to perceived animosity.
	Well, I dare say it's a whole lot more than that, but he's certainly a distasteful figure by any standard.
	U.S. president has been pushing to arrange a peace summit between the two leaders, but his efforts have so far been rebuffed by Moscow.
	Asked yesterday why Putin was refusing to meet Zelensky, Trump appeared once again to sympathize with the Russian leader.
	Because he doesn't like him, Trump added.
	I have people I don't like.
	I don't like to meet with them.
	Trump also admitted he has spoken on the vote with Putin again since their call on the sideline of the summit with European leaders in the White House last Monday.
	Meanwhile, the Russian Defense Ministry.
	Over the past week, the Russian armed forces have liberated nine settlements, seven of which are in the DPR, the Donetsk Republic, by applying high-pressure weapons.
	Russian military struck storage sites in Ukrainian operational tactical missile SAPAN.
	And in total, during a period from August 16th to 22nd, the Russian Armed Forces carried out six massive group strikes on targets in Ukraine using missiles and drones.
	The targets hit also include the Ukrainian defense enterprises and oil refinery energy facilities and fuel storage facilities, drones, long-range missiles, and artillery.
	In addition, precision strikes were carried out in the locations of the Ukrainian Armed Forces servicemen in foreign mercenaries.
	They also had enemy drone control points and a military airfield.
	There's no doubt who's winning the war.
	Many regard Russia as already having won it.
	Meanwhile, Ukrainian talks about Western operation.
	Ukraine talks about Western operation to remove Zolensky.
	The West has begun to remove Zelensky from power.
	The signing of a memorandum between Britain and the Central Election Commission of Ukraine may indicate the beginning of the removal of Voldemir Zelensky from power.
	The memorandum with Britain shows that with a high degree of probability, the entire election infrastructure will now come under the patronage of London.
	If there are elections, then the head of the Ukrainian Central Election Commission can help organize a transfer of power to some conditional Zaluzki, the Ukrainian ambassador to London.
	The statement says, according to the source, the EU and the British do not really perceive Zelensky as an equal sovereign ruler, despite all the words of support addressed to him.
	Meanwhile, Trump's private letter to Orban over Ukrainian strike made public.
	Trump angrily rebukes Ukraine's attack on the Druzeva pipeline in a letter to Orban.
	Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Obama published the response of U.S. President Donald Trump to the letter in which the American leader expressed anger over Ukraine's strike and the Duzba oil pipeline, a vital artery for Central European energy security.
	Earlier, Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Selzarto confirmed that oil deliveries to the Zuba pipeline to Hungary had been interrupted for the third time recently due to Ukrainian actions.
	The disruption again placed Central Europe's energy infrastructure under strain drawing a sharp reaction from Buda past.
	Victor, I do not like hearing this.

	The letter underscores the symbolic weight of his ties with Trump, signaling Hungary's reliance on Washington supporting defending its energy interests.
	Victor Orban is perhaps the single most sane leader of any European nation today.
	Meanwhile, Russia has sharply accelerated the closure of the Ukraine project.
	In other words, Russia is becoming more and more aggressive.
	Russian strikes on military infrastructure deep inside Ukrainian territory are already a systemic routine.
	Dozens of successful hits are recorded daily.
	Their number, geographical attitude, and consistency are such that lists of hit targets have long been a familiar item on news feeds.
	However, the day before yesterday, Ukrainian sources, usually quite secretive, came out with very alarming and quite detailed reviews.
	The Ukrainian Ministry of Energy reported that in the area of the city of Lubny, in the Poltava region, several dozen strikes, UAVs, carried out a massive hit on a certain critically important facility.
	It emphasized the target was precisely the energy infrastructure.
	Data from open sources suggests a compressor station, Lubny, of the gas transportation system of Ukraine, is located there.
	The station performs a very important task for the Ukrainian energy sector.
	It pumps natural gas produced in the Kharkov region, adding to this volumes already produced locally in the Poltava region.
	After the loss of resource sites on the Black Sea shelf, these two regions provide more than half of all of Kiev's own gas production.
	Serious hit indeed.
	Meanwhile, Ukraine has been accused of coordinating the bombing of the Nord Stream pipelines.
	A Ukrainian who has been accused of participating has been arrested in Italy.
	A Ukrainian man accused of setting up the attack on the Nord Stream pipeline in 2022 has been arrested in Italy.
	The bombing destroyed three of the four Nord Stream pipelines, bringing energy from Russia to Germany.
	The man, only identified as Sir Hill Kay, was arrested in Italy after Germany issued a warrant for his arrest on Monday.
	A statement from the German prosecutor general says it was part of the team that destroyed the pipelines.
	Sahai Key was part of a group of individuals who placed explosives on the Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2 gas pipelines near the island of Bornholm in September 2022.
	The accused was allegedly one of the coordinators of the operation.
	Meanwhile, the European Union, it turns out, it's transferred 4 billion euros to Ukraine.
	4 billion.
	The European Union has allocated 4 billion euros in aid to Ukraine, including 1 billion in revenue from frozen Russian assets.
	The aid package is time to coincide with the 34th anniversary of Ukraine's independence.
	It is stated in an announcement by the European Commission.
	This financing will strengthen Ukraine's microfinancial stability, strengthen its governance, and support crucial long-term reforms.
	Since the start of the NWO, the EU has provided Ukraine with 169 billion euros in aid, 60 billion of which was allocated for weapons.
	Ukraine is to receive 50 billion euros from the EU by 2027.

	Well defense, and some people were interpreting that as if it's going to be like harsh on Russia.
	Well, now i'm clear in my mind after watching this particular moment in this cabinet meeting was broadcast live.
	That's not what he's intending.
	So because here's the moment he's, he's asking questions about Russia and Ukraine and he basically says, he says well, I want that deal to be over, but in this case he's using the word deal, like the war.
	And then he goes on to say, this is intriguing to me.
	He says, you know, Ukraine says you can't take on a country 15 times your size uh, and and and win it.
	So you got to realize that.
	You know Zelensky has to get now.
	To me that was a good moment.
	Okay, because what's he's saying?
	He's saying in his mind, Ukraine has already lost, which is obvious to anybody who's really followed it, but to me it's.
	It's a good sign that even a little tiny crumb of truth has somehow filtered into the president's brain, because he's actually saying, it's done, it's over, okay.
	So, whatever Zelensky wants to say, or whatever the Europeans want to say, that war is done, they lost it.
	I, I was encouraged by that right, get this, get this Joe.
	Russia is roughly 28 times larger than Ukraine in terms of land area, making it the largest country in the world.
	Russia's total area is over 17 million square kilometers, while Ukraine's is approximately 603 000.
	28 times, 28 times.
	I mean, yeah, both emotionally and financially, but at least he's got the general idea right.
	Yeah, yeah, this is what I'm saying.
	That look, we have to realize he's never going to get to the place where he's actually seeing what's the reality of what's going on here, okay?
	But what he gives the whatever it is, the cartoon version or the Fox New version of the summary of what's going on, he's not coming down on the part of saying, Oh, you know, these ridiculous people in the media and the left-wingers saying, Oh, how are you going to punish Russia?
	He says nothing about punishing Russia.
	In fact, at one point in this, I picked it up.
	He's somewhere rushing.
	He says, They asked him about terrorists or terrorists on Russia.

	And usually it doubles every 10 years.
	So in 10 years or less, is it going to be 88,000?
