Less than 24 hours after his disastrous press conference with George King Abdullah, Trump was back on top, getting accolades and taking a victory lap.
He chatted with Vladimir Putin for 90 minutes.
It was not their first conversation in the last week, but it was the most consequential first.
Take a look at the Russian readout of the Putin-Trump phone call.
Heads of state discussed issues related to the exchange of citizens of Russia and the United States.
The president of the United States assured that the American side will fulfill everything agreements reach.
The settlement in Ukraine was also discussed.
Donald Trump called for the speedy suspension of hostilities and the solution to the problem by peaceful funds.
Means, I suspect, was meant.
Putin, for his part, mentioned the need to the root causes of the conflict and agreed with Donald Trump that a long-term settlement can be achieved through peaceful negotiations.
The president of Russia also supported one of the main theses of the head of the USA, that it is time for our countries to work together.
During the conversation, The topics of Middle East settlement were touched upon, Iran's nuclear program, as well as bilateral Russian-American relations in the field of economy.
The President of Russia invited the President of the United States to visit Moscow and expressed readiness to accept in Russia American officials in those areas of work of mutual interest, including the topic of Ukrainian settlement.
Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump agreed to continue personal contacts in a number of personal meetings.
Excellent.

And now we finally know because he's actually said he has spoken Trump to Putin.
And now, after seeing what has gone on, Secretary of Defense Pete Hexas was speaking to NATO today in Brussels.
And Larry picked up on some things that I don't think a lot of people recognize.
Larry, why don't you take it and let us know what you thought you saw or know you saw.
Yeah, no, you saw it.
So what I saw out of this is confirmation that Putin and Trump had had at least two conversations.
And the conversation, the first conversation was sometime well over a week ago.
And that's because at the time when Trump came out and announced that the Ukraine Defense Group This ad hoc group, which reportedly had 50 countries that were involved, that were being pressed to provide support to Ukraine, that was chaired previously by the United States.
So a week ago Sunday, the word went out from Trump that we're going to ask the UK. The UK has been asked to take over the chair event.
Oh, what an honor.
The UK gets to be in charge.
That was followed up on Sunday with a conversation that Mike Waltz, the National Security Advisor, had on one of the Sunday talk shows.
And saying that going forward, the security of Ukraine was Europe's responsibility, Europe's problem.
We then had Trump come back with another comment saying, There's no further military grants, freebies, for Ukraine in the future.
It's got to pay for it.
$500 million in rare earth.
So that's where we have these statements making it clear Trump was publicly pushing the United States out of being involved directly in the war with Ukraine, placing the onus entirely upon Europe.
At least that's what it looks like.
Well, today we've got confirmation.
So, Gary, let's first look at Trump's first...
Yeah, his true social this morning.
This came out somewhere in the 9 o'clock hour Eastern time.
Now, notice that he identifies.
He said they talked for about an hour and a half, and they ended up talking about not just the war in Ukraine, but the Middle East, the economy, other things.
But notice who he's put in charge of the negotiations.
Marco Rubio, Secretary of State, CIA Director Radcliffe, National Security Advisor Michael Waltz, and Ambassador and Special Envoy Stephen Whitcock.
Whose name is missing?
Oh, that would be General Kellogg.
Kellogg is no longer there.
I think Kellogg's been asked to step out.
You know, that's huge, Larry, because He has been the mouthpiece, the face of all of this since Trump won the election.
Exactly.
And he was the one.
He's supposed to be going to the Munich conference next week to present the Trump peace plan.
Well, I don't think he'll be there presenting the Trump peace plan because he is not identified as one of the key negotiators.
And I fully suspect that Russia put the word out to Trump.
He's unacceptable.
We're not going to deal with him.
Why?
Because Kellogg's daughter reportedly is part of a group, an NGO, working in Ukraine on behalf of the Ukrainian government called RT... I forget the name, RT something or other.
But what do they do?
Well, they supposedly would help transport the wounded volunteers, American volunteers, Who were wounded at the transfer into hospitals in Germany.
I'd be willing to bet dollars to donuts that part of their money, if not a significant portion, came from either USAID or and or the CIA. Really?
Very good, very good report.
And of course, Kellogg was very much of a hawk, anti-Russian.
Get him the hell out of the way.

Let's pick up a bit of this today, by the way.

Let's see what we have here.
Well, that's your language.
Not mine.
Certainly not a betrayal.
As I said to our allies yesterday, we recognize the incredible commitment that has been made over many years.
And no country, as President Trump has pointed out, has made a larger commitment.
To the Ukrainian mission than the United States of America, north of $300 billion.
So the United States has invested in stabilizing those front lines after the aggression of Russia.
There is no betrayal there.
There is a recognition that the whole world and the United States is invested and interested in peace.
A negotiated peace.
As President Trump has said, stopping the killing.
And so that will require both sides recognizing things they don't want to.
That's why I think the world is fortunate to have President Trump.
Only he at this moment could convene the powers that be to bring peace, and that's a welcome sign.
My job as the defense secretary working alongside NATO is to ensure that the defense capabilities of this alliance are as strong and robust as possible to deter any future aggression on the continent.
That's our role to be leaders in NATO, and that's what we'll continue to do.

Now, of course, the question was, is this a betrayal?
Because he denounced that Ukraine must make territorial concessions and that it's not realistic to expect Russia to withdraw from any of the land that it's taken.
Of course, Crimea, Donbass, a couple other oblasts, that's, of course, realistic indeed, because Russia would not do that.
We have to recognize it's unrealistic to think that Ukraine would ever, ever become a member of NATO. So this is all excellent.
I'd say the Ukraine situation is going to be resolved in very short order.
Meanwhile, Zelensky, who's making up fake news to beat the ban, But it's a Russian drone-stroke Chernobyl reactor.
But this is such an obvious false flag.
The Russian drone struck the containment to help protecting the radioactive reactor at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, causing significant damage, Ukraine claimed Friday.
The protective covering that was placed around Reactor 4 in 2016 sustained a large hole from the unmanned aircraft.
Last night, a Russian attack drone with a high-explosive warhead struck the shelter, protecting the world from radiation at the destroyed fourth power unit of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Friday.
Now, he's not actually the legitimate president because his term expired back in May.
And why in the world would Russia want to strike?
A Chernobyl reactor with high explosives.
But it may have been a Russian drone.
Ukraine could get a hold of a Russian drone and fake it.
This is, in any case, nonsense.

The Wall Street Journal has reported that the Egyptian leadership, Abdel Fattah al-Thisi and King Abdullah in Jordan, are taking Trump's plan very seriously.
King Abdullah met with Donald Trump and It was very hard to watch this display of Abdullah failing to challenge Trump at all as Trump basically humiliated him and insulted his dignity and told him that he was going to accept large numbers of Palestinians.
That's because Abdullah had basically orders not to challenge or confront Trump directly because of Trump's mercurial personality, his vengeful tendencies.
And to lean on Egypt to present a counterproposal where Jordan and Egypt will stand together supposedly against this ethnic cleansing plan, which is clearly being directed from Tel Aviv, by the way.
I think those are excellent observations.
It's not going to go anywhere.
Meanwhile, we have John Mearsheimer talking about the situation here.

Is it different in any way to what you expected?
I think that basically what Trump is trying to do at this point in time is to sort of create chaos on all fronts, make a number of wild assertions put forward.
Policy ideas that are never going to be realized.
And I think the hope on his part is that out of all this chaos that he's creating, he can come up with some sort of formidable grand strategy that solves all the big problems that the United States and the West faces.
And in the end, fashion a coherent grand strategy that deals with these different problems.
But at this point in time...
What we really have is him making a lot of, I think it's fair to say, wild and crazy statements.
I mean, the idea that Canada is going to become the 51st state, that we're going to take back the Panama Canal, that we're going to grab Greenland, that the United States is going to go into Gaza and ethnically cleanse the Palestinians and then turn it into the Riviera of the Middle East.
Well, all these ideas are basically outlandish.
And you would not expect a new president to start off by making a whole set of comments like that.
And at the same time, and we can talk more about this, I don't think he's done much of anything to fix the Middle East problem, and this is mainly the Gaza problem at this point in time, or the Ukraine problem.
You want to remember, he said that he was going to come in and solve the Ukraine problem in one day, and that maybe even solve it before he moved into the White House.
We can talk about this again, but if anything, it looks to me like we're in more trouble on Ukraine than we were before he became the president.
I think he's wrong about Ukraine, but he's certainly right about Trump's style.
It's rather remarkable.

What about the idea that a relationship between Trump and Russia develops to the, you know, between Trump and Putin, develops to the level where Putin is able to say, hey, listen.
We'll work with you about Israel, but this plan is not going to work, right?
And maybe there is some compromise that we can, you know, give peace a chance.

I think it's the most defining characteristic of the nation.

I'm telling you, the United States of America is ruled by these people, and it's a terrible thing.
And it's going to get you into a war in the Middle East, because they're getting sick of it over there.
I've heard rumblings that if Trump goes ahead with this psychotic thing to attack and slaughter the people of Gaza, then it's on.
It's a terrible thing.
