The Real Deal (3 July 2021): A Beatles' Top 25 with Sal Frascone
| Copy link to current segment

Time Text
This is Jim Fetzer in Madison, Wisconsin, your host on The Real Deal.
This is a special report with my friend from Colorado, Sal Foscone, who has a keen interest in the Beatles, as we have discovered during conversations over the last few months.
Now, Sal is not only legally blind, but virtually entirely blind, so his appearance may strike you as unusual since he's up so close to see what's going on on the screen.
But what I thought we would do, and today it turns out to be especially appropriate, I believe, is get Sal's take on 25 of his favorite Beatles hits.
I've done in the past a tribute to the Beatles with my top 20.
But during all those times, I was unaware of the details of the death of Paul McCartney,
which I hear the forehead presume based upon prior research had taken place
on 9-11-1966, September 11th of 1966 in an automobile accident. But I have of late done
two interviews with Richard Balducci, one on the 29th of May, the other today, in which he explained
that while Paul was trapped in a car, he was actually murdered while he was hanging out of the car.
It was an assassination with satanic aspects, very, very disconcerting.
Now, As a consequence, looking back at some of the Beatles music, we can appreciate on the one hand how much we lost in the case of Paul, but also I believe the genius of the fellow who replaced him
The one and only Billy Shears, who's published about it in his memoirs, which is available on Amazon.com, and reveals him to be highly intelligent, very creative, really quite an extraordinary guy who, alas, May never receive credit for his accomplishments.
Indeed, it was his father's dying wish that his son should be recognized for what he had done in giving up his own life, his own identity, in order to assume that of Paul McCartney, in order for the Beatles to continue as a band for multiplicity of reasons.
Now, Saul, it's just a great pleasure to be joining you today, and we have your 25 songs lined up.
Would you like to make some opening comments about all of these matters?
Yes, there are a couple of solo songs on this playlist.
One from Paul, one from Ringo, and one from George.
And there you could certainly tell the talent in all of these Great artist.
And some people say that Ringo is not talented.
I would disagree.
Perhaps he doesn't sing as well as the rest of the guys, but he has certainly done some great music.
And I've liked the fact that, you know, he seems to be the only member of the Beatles that has actually spoke about the replacement of Paul McCartney after his death.
You're quite right, Saul.
I have an article about it entitled, Why Ringo's Confession We Replaced Paul Appears to be Authentic at JamesFetzer.org.
And you can also see there the work of the Italian forensic scientist who set out to disprove the hypothesis that Paul had died and had died and been replaced and wound up confirming it.
Fascinating.
Difference in the shape and size of their skulls.
Differences in their teeth, in their palates, in their ears.
Differences, most notably, in their height.
Fascinating story, Saul.
I'm interested in whether you would be inclined to agree with my assessment that Paul, oddly enough, surprisingly, perhaps beyond imagination, was replaced by an even better musician.
I would agree in every way.
As far as I know, before Paul McCartney was replaced, I don't remember Paul McCartney, the one and only who is no longer with us for well over 55 years now, never played piano.
I don't remember him ever playing piano.
I believe that any keyboards during most of those early years were done by George.
That's a very interesting observation.
There's a whole lot that goes with a story, but let us not hesitate over that.
You can find both of my interviews with Baladushi on my BitChute channel.
Just BitChute channel Jim Fetzer.
Check him out.
You're going to be blown away.
But mind you, If you have a weak stomach, if you're, you know, queasy about gruesome photographs, you may want to spare yourself going through the experience.
Let's take a look, Sal, at your choices, your selection here.
We'll begin with the very first.
Okay.
As I write this letter, send my love to you Remember that I'll always be in love with you
Treasure these few words till we're together Keep all my love forever
E.S. I love you, you, you, you I'll be coming home again to you love
Until the day I do love E.S. I love you, you, you, you
Bye!
As I write this letter, send my love to you.
Remember that I'll always be in love with you.
Treasure these few words till we're together.
Keep all my love forever P.S. I love you
You, you, you As I write this letter
Oh, send my love to you You know I want you to remember that
I'll always, yeah, be in love with you I'll be coming home again to you, love
Until the day I do love P.S. I love you
I love you. You, you, you. You, you, you. I love you. That was a wonderful rendition, Sal, and I
particularly like the photograph that was just a wonderful picture of the four lads from Liverpool
as the world came to know them.
Your thoughts and comments?
This is one of the first singles we had from the Beatles when I was young.
My dad was a jukebox vendor, and we had a lot of records, but this was one of the very first Beatles songs I really enjoyed a lot.
Wonderful song.
I find it to be a little similar to a Johnny Mercer song from the 1950s, also called P.S.
I Love You.
The melody's not quite the same.
The beat is similar, but this song is much better.
Certainly not a copy or a clone or an imitation, but maybe they heard the Johnny Mercer song and they said, we'll run with this and do something better.
And that's, I think, exactly what they did.
That sounds very much like what I would imagine happened, that it was an inspiration to them.
Here we have your second choice.
Your friend says that your love won't be a lot.
But you know that your love is all you've got.
At times things are so fine, and at times they're not.
But when she says she loves you, that means a lot.
A friend says that a love is never true.
But you know that this can't apply to you.
A touch can mean so much when it's all you've got.
And when she says she loves you, that means a lot.
Love can be deep inside.
Love can be suicide.
Can't you see?
You can't hide what you feel when it's real.
Friend says that your love won't mean a lot.
But you know that your love is all you've got.
A touch can mean so much when it's all you've got But when she says she loves you, that means a lot Can't you see?
Can't you see?
That means a lot Can't you see?
Can't you see?
least in the following respect.
That was in October of 1966.
Notice, shortly after 9-11, when Paul died, that Brian Epstein announced that the Beatles would no longer tour and be giving live concerts in stadium.
Where he offered the feeble explanation that the lads could no longer hear themselves singing as though that were the objective.
I mean, every rock band gets a massive dose of adrenaline from their huge stadium full of adoring fans, Sal.
So I find that explanation really an excuse.
I think because they knew that the replacement, commonly referred to as fall or fake or false Paul, Would be recognized as not the original James Paul McCartney by his fans, and they didn't want to run the risk.
That does make a lot of sense.
I will add to it that I've seen interviews with John Lennon's first wife, Christina, who said that they had a rigorous Touring schedule and that it was very hard on them.
But that is certainly not the excuse why they completely stopped performing live.
Yeah, I mean, it's just incredible.
They're also a huge source of revenue.
I mean, going on tours and filling stadiums with fans, you know, I mean, it brought in a huge amount of money.
So that's another reason why Brian Epstein's explanation makes no sense.
Here's another.
Here I stand, head in hand Turn my face to the wall If she's gone, I can't go on Feelin' two foot small Everywhere people stare Each and every day I can see them laugh at me and I hear them say
Hey, you've got to hide your love away Hey, you've got to hide your love away
How can I even try? I can never win Hearing them, seeing them, in the state I'm in
How could she say to me, love will find a way?
Gather round all you clowns, let me hear you say Hey, you've got to hide your love away
Hey, you've got to hide your love away away. So give us your thoughts about this one.
I I had first heard this song when I watched the film on VHS help.
It's a fantastic movie.
If anybody wondered if the Beatles had stage presence on screen, Or acting abilities.
They may not necessarily have had acting abilities, but I believe they had good charisma and the film is very well produced and well written and it's a fun ride.
Even if you don't like the Beatles, you should check it out.
And I'd like to add one more thing.
It's very important.
I would suggest anyone wants to find the English translation of the Wired Magazine article from Italy, you should buy James' book, and I suppose we didn't go to the moon either, with Nicholas Kallstrom, who's quite an investigator and wrote books himself about the replacement of Paul McCartney.
It's a great book.
That's a nice point, Sal.
Yes, yes, yes.
Nick wrote a book on the life and death of Paul McCartney.
He did not know, as I did not at the time, how, in fact, Paul had actually been murdered, that it was an assassination, which everyone watching this is going to want to follow up by reviewing my interviews with Richard Balducci on my blog at BitChute channel, James Fetzer.
Here we go.
with another.
The Rain Comes.
If the rain comes, they run and hide their heads.
They might as well be dead.
If the rain comes.
If the rain comes.
When the sun shines, they slip into the shade.
When the sun shines, they fall in love with me.
When the sun shines.
When the sun shines.
Rain.
I don't mind.
Shine.
Yes, I.
I can show you that when it starts to rain.
Everything's the same.
I can show you.
I can show you.
Rain.

Can you hear me?
Like when the dreams are shy.
Just a state of mind.
Can you hear me?
Can you hear me?
Rain.
The earth and the land are my mirror.
Rain.
Rain.
Oh What I like about that especially, Saul, is what I call the innocence of the Beatles, but especially Paul.
I mean, he's having such a great time, he can hardly repress that smile constantly.
And of course, it's tragic that Paul was killed, apparently in retaliation by the then Pope, who was offended that John had said the Beatles were more popular than Jesus.
It's quite a story.
And you'll find it in the two interviews I've done with Richard Balducci.
Your thoughts about this one, Sal?
It's a B-side, and it's one of the last songs credited to Levin McCartney, recorded in May of 1966.
It's so popular that about 12 years ago or so, they made a stage production that's called Rain.
I'm not sure what the idea behind it is, but it just goes to show you that even the Beatles
B-sides become big productions and it shows their unending longevity in media and music.
Nice points, yes.
Here we have a Stevie Wonder version of a Paul McCartney song.

I should have said Lennon, McCartney, Sal.
That's certainly an interesting rendition by Stevie Wonder.
Yes, it's very good.
The only thing that I think is a little better, and I couldn't find it, is the mono radio promotional version, because it's just all mixed in one channel, and it's even better than that.
But I was not able to find it for our presentation.
Well, this was, uh, pretty, pretty damn good.

You were only waiting for this moment to arise.
Of course I love the White Album, Saul, because it shows such a diversity, versatility.
the next one. Bye.
I mean, you got about 30, 40 different types of music, and they have a song that's really crisp and appropriate, some of which are absolutely gems for each of those different types of music.
So I've always liked the White Album.
Not every piece equally well, of course, but it's really a terrific product.
And you know, as much as I'm sorry that Paul McCartney is no longer with us, if it wasn't for the replacement of Mr. Campbell, then we wouldn't have Blackbird.
It's my brother's favorite song, and I love it too.
I think you're absolutely right that Billy Shears really carried the band in completely different directions and, of course, paid a high price for it.
In fact, on his deathbed, his father is reported to have said he hoped that his son would get credit for what he'd accomplished.
But as we know from the memoirs of Billy Shears, he's not contractually allowed to acknowledge what really happened.
So he sacrificed his own identity for the sake of the band, the fans, the British Empire even,
because this was a huge industry. The Beatles alone were bringing in vast sums to the Queen's coffers.
Here's another wonderful piece.

Well, I misspoke in that instance anticipating some of the songs that are about to appear before us.
This is one of the most sexually explicit of all the Beatles songs, perhaps only behind, uh, why don't we do it in the road, which leaves nothing to the imagination.
Saul, your thoughts.
This is also from the White Album Sessions.
It wasn't used on the White Album, and it's not legally available.
There are other ways to get it, but it's not legitimately available for purchase.
And any of you that say, I heard that song before, you sure have, because it's Badfinger's first and probably most popular hit from the first album, Magic Christian Music, and from the film, The Magic Christian.
Would that be why it's not available?
Was this a takeoff?
Um, well, I don't know where whoever put it up here got it from.
I could get it, but see, I'm Sal.

Never know how many holes it takes to fill it out with hope I'd love to turn you on
I'd love to turn you on That's fascinating, Sal.
Of course, I like the version that would eventually appear on the album better.
But there are fascinating aspects to this, including the discordant notes.
And of course, the album and its cover were intended to be a memorial service for Paul.
We got the burial of a left-handed guitarist.
You have Madame Tussaud's waxworks on the left, the lads all in dark.
And then you have the resplendent Sgt.
Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, where they're introducing the one and only Billy Shears, as Paul's emplacement implied.
But many didn't pick up on it at the time.
I remember this being heralded as the first concept album, meaning that all the songs that were on the album were interrelated and thematic.
So, you know, this was an important development in not just popular music, in my opinion, but in music more generally.
Your thoughts?
Yeah, it's certainly not the same as the final version but it makes you realize, especially for younger people who don't realize how hard it was to record multitrack music during the Early days.
There's no digital.
People had to work with reel-to-reel tapes.
They had to use sliders to slide the sounds of the tracks in and out.
It was a daunting task to record anything, let alone something with orchestra backing as George Martin did, especially with this album.
That's a great point, because many believe that it was George Martin's orchestration and so forth that made so many of the Beatles' works transcendent beyond ordinary pop music.
Let me add that, well, Saul's 25 are in roughly a random order.
My tribute to the Beatles has a countdown from 20 to number one.
And my choice for the Beatles' all-time greatest work is this, A Day in the Life.
So I mentioned that in passing, not this version, of course, but the one that appeared on the album.
There are a number of other really sensational Beatles songs here.
Here are a few of them.
Here's a few of the songs I like.
Here's a few of the songs I like.
Who finds the money when you pay the rent?
Did you think that money was heaven sent?
Friday night arrives without a suitcase.

Monday's child has learned to tie his bootlegs See how they run
Lady Madonna, baby at your breast Wonders how you managed to feed the rat
See how they run Lady Madonna, lying on the bed
Tuesday afternoon is never ending.
Wednesday morning papers didn't come.
Thursday night your stockings needed mending See how they run
Lady Madonna, children at your feet Wonder how you managed to make it me
Wonder how you managed to make it me Wonder how you managed to make it me
Now it's interesting to me they made no serious effort to coordinate the words with activities of the band
I mean, this wasn't lip syncing or anything like it, though some of the songs we've seen were.
And I take it the thematic aspect is juxtaposing the name Madonna with a lady of the street or a lady of the night, a woman who appears to have been a professional available for hire, juxtaposed with the name Madonna, That seems to me, and when we mention, you know, nuns and so forth, that underlines what I take to be the theme of the work.
But it's just a very, very nice piece.
Saul, your thoughts?
When they had recorded this song, Paul McCartney had spoke about how he really liked Fats Domino, and he kind of sings a little like Fats Domino, and the saxophone accompaniment's a lot like the guy, I can't remember his name, that was in Fats Domino's band from 1949 to 1962.
1949 and 1962. Basically any of the hits, Blueberry Hill, Kansas City.
the city, any of those songs, uh, that guy is blowing that horn.
It's just amazing.
Nice comments.
Sal here we have another absolutely classic work.
I look at all the lonely people.
Eleanor Rigby picks up the rice in the church where a wedding has been.
you Lives in a dream, waits at the window, wearing the face that she keeps in a jar by the door.
Who is it for?
All the lonely people, where do they all come from?
All the lonely people, where do they all belong?
Father McKenzie Writing the words of a sermon that no one will hear No one comes near Look at him working Donning his socks in the night when there's nobody there What does he care?
All the lonely people Where do they all come from?
All the lonely What do they all belong to?
Ah, look at all the lonely people Ah, look at all the lonely people Eleanor Rigby died in the church and was buried along with her name Nobody came.
Father McKenzie wiping the dirt from his hands as he walked from the grave.
No one was saved.
All alone.
Where do they all come from?
All alone.
Where do they all belong?
I find this song quite touching because they're really talking about the mass of humanity whose lives never particularly amount to much, don't make much of a difference.
You only hope that they have in their own personal lives some source of meaning, which it would appear Eleanor Rigby did not.
Your thoughts, Sal?
Yes, it's a powerful song and Again, supercharged by the orchestral arrangement from producer George Martin.
Yeah, I agree completely.
I think that's one where made a huge difference to have that additional aspect to it.

Maybe not as popular or perfect as yesterday's song, but it's certainly a wonderful piece of music with marvelous lyrics.
I find it very affecting.
Your thoughts?
Well, I was born in 1970 and I went with I went to school with several girls that were named Michelle and they were named Michelle because of the song.
So you'll find a lot of women who were born between, you know, 60 whatever and the early 70s were named Michelle because they're so influenced by the song.
I really love it.
Yeah, the Beatles were just making a tremendous impact.
By the way, I think One reason they made such a difference to America was they arrived in the aftermath of the assassination of JFK.
And I believe this wonderful music had the ability to revive the nation, which was in consulate over the assassination of a man that Americans absolutely loved with a wonderful woman.

She's in love with me and I feel fine Mmm
What I love about this is the joie de vivre of the Beatles there.
It's so apparent and those are just wonderful images of Paul and John together
as youthful, creative, wonderfully talented artists who are really making an impact on the world.
So I mean, that's just a delightful little video, which of course is lip syncing.
We don't even have Ringo playing the drums there, and yet the drums make a difference.
It's a wonderful piece.
Oh yeah, I really like it a lot.
And when you watch videos of John and Paul, I mean the original Paul, you can recognize that they were friends and they were chums.
And I can't imagine how hard it is for the people that were around them to keep that secret, some of which are still alive today.
Yeah, absolutely.
You know, there was an event Some music award show where both Ringo and Fall were present, and Ringo was saying how, I'm the last remaining Beatle, and in spite of the fact that Fall was there.
And of course, we had any number of fascinating incidents along the way in the history of this event, such as when Fall went on with David Letterman.
And Letterman was asking him about, what's this story about?
You died and were replaced?
Who was there replaced when he says me?
And everyone thought that was so charming, but what he was saying was, of course, literally true.
Saul, you must have been struck when that took place.
Yeah, I actually watched that clip a few months ago.
It's certainly interesting, and the day may never come where we find out if He is living Paul McCartney's life, or if he's somehow trying to live his own life as Paul McCartney.
These are confusing things that you and I don't have to deal with, but we can certainly speculate on it.
I can't imagine it would be easy.
Well, we know from the memoirs of Billy Shears that he's not allowed to reveal the truth of the matter.
I recall when Linda Eastman walked up to him, she said, Hi, I know you're not Paul.
When did you join the band?
I think that disarming approach had a powerful effect because he appears to have been as much in love with Linda Eastman as Paul, I take it, was with Jane Asher.
And of course, they lived quite a life together, including with wings.
Linda, of course, now has passed on.
But it seems to me their relationship was a very positive one for them both.
and you know, it's got a fairy tale aspect to it.

You know, so I really like the Peter and Gordon version of it.
I don't know if I ever caught up to the Beatles having originated, but I mean, I really liked that song.
There's a demo somewhere.
I thought it had a powerful message.
That's for sure.
And there were a couple of other songs that were credited to Lennon and McCartney that Pierre and Gordon performed.
None of the other ones had the kind of effect that World Without Love does.
Yeah, very, very searching, as it were, and powerful in its message.

Well, Abbey Road is the last studio album from the Beatles.
I got confused when I was younger, like, what the... The Little Tree was the last record release.
Well, it was.
It was recorded the year before, and they didn't get along too well with Phil Spector, but they must have got along with him somehow because John and George recorded albums with Phil producing.
I'm really not sure what the intention was, but I want you all to note the fuzz guitar technique of playing from Paul McCartney because it's coming up next on the solo song that I picked from Paul McCartney from the film The Lake House, This Never Happened Before.
And it's a much sweeter song and one could only think that he might have been thinking of his first wife Linda after the lousy marriage he had to Heather Mills when he wrote this song.

Of course, we know not only was Paul assassinated, but so too was John.
And in fact, there was an effort to murder George.
As I recall, he reported a naked man in his home was trying to stab him, which is exactly parallel to what happened to a dear friend of mine in JFK Research, Jack White.
Who awakened one night to find a naked man in his home trying to stab him.
Actually succeeded in stabbing him a couple of times until Jack was able to respond enough to get him out.
It appears that they were naked so they could wash off any DNA or evidence that might have occurred there.
In other words, it was a measure they were taking in order to ensure they would never be caught.
George was lucky.
Paul and John were not.
Saul, your thoughts.

I think Pete Best was actually in that role rather than Ringo Starr at the time.

They had another drummer for a little while before even Pete Best.

We see John as the minister, Ringo as the undertaker, Richard as a gravedigger, and Paul as a corpse.
He was asked about, you know, wearing no shoes that day, even by David Letterman.
He gave an absurd explanation.
As you know, Saul, he said, well, it was very hot that day.
So he took off his shoes.
But because the pavement was asphalt, I mean, it would have been super hot.
So that explanation was simply ridiculous.
I've scratched my head as to why he made up something that ridiculous.
I believe it was, again, an attempt actually to minimize the height difference.
Because as we saw in so many of these videos, John and Paul and George, too, were all virtually the same height.
Ringo's slightly shorter.
But Fall towered over them.
He was about four inches taller than Paul, so they were constantly making moves to minimize that difference in height, since it was such a glaring discrepancy with Apollo in the past.
Your thoughts, Saul?
Yeah, well, I would agree with that.
And as you brought up in some of your other videos, they tried to disguise Paul with facial hair and stuff like that.
And it's just, you know, the grand deception.
And it's... I want to tell every one of you, if you don't believe this, That's okay.
But if you're not willing to face the truth about something like this, maybe you're not facing the truth about something much more important to your life that you need to do the best you can to understand to make it better.
So then you can start to make it better.
Nice.
I gotta tell you, of all the issues I deal with, many very, very controversial, including Sandy Hawk, 9-11, JFK, the one that evokes the most emotional response and the least rationality is, Paul is dead and was replaced.
I'm telling you, it's just uncanny that so many just find it impossible to accept And react with complete emotion.
Saul, I think you said to me, you yourself initially, when you heard me explain that Paul had died, and I was explained then in an automobile accident in 1966 and had been replaced, that you took great offense that you yourself couldn't handle it.
Tell us.
Well, I didn't watch anything that you were doing for about two years because, not because I didn't believe you, it's because I was mad at you.
And I said, how could this man do this?
How could Dr. James Fetzer do this to me?
And then I had to realize that it's not your fault that I can't accept the truth.
And it was only through accepting that truth that I realized that no one is going to be happy finding out the truth about something like this.
And I mean not a single one of you, including me.
But understanding the truth on whatever it is, is going to help you live your life a lot better.
So you know what to do tomorrow.
Yeah, knowledge is not going to induce happiness, meaning it may or may not, but I mean, knowing the truth about Sandy Hook, you ought to be elated that no kids were killed there.
9-11, Lee Oswald was not the lone assassin, but it's dismaying that there were actually eight.
And on 9-11, our leaders, Dick Cheney and Donald Rumsfeld, betrayed the nation for the sake of Israel.
That's pretty disconcerting.
Unfortunately, it's all true.
To return to the fray here, we have what may be... Yeah, here's a wonderful piece.

Ringo seems to take the lead there.
I love it.
That's just one of my favorite, all-time favorites of the Beatles.
And it's very thematic with, you know, all you need is love and a little help from your friends.
And really, I think that's a lot of the primary message they brought to the world, Sol.
I think it's my favorite Ringo vocal track from the Beals.
And all these tracks on here that are from Avery Road are from the 2019 master version.
So I think that it's the best one out there.
Everything sounds a little clearer.
They've mixed up some of the instruments that were a little harder to hear in all the other previous versions.
And that would be with the work of George Martin's son, Giles.
And I thought, ah, this is just a nepotistic deal.
But it really isn't, because towards the end of Um, George Martin's life, he was losing his hearing.
He didn't want people to know that he was losing his hearing and he was mastering other music and he was bringing his son Giles in with him.
He was 15 years old when that started happening and to have him help him hear what he couldn't hear.
And I can't imagine how much you would love your father to do that, so that he wouldn't feel out of place not actually being able to hear.
Yeah, I think Sgt.
Pepper is my favorite of all the Beatle albums.
So obviously it has competition.
Oh yeah, all right, are you gonna be my dream tonight?
Yeah.
I'm gonna be your dream.
All right.
As though to add an exclamation mark to the points we were just making, and the love you take is equal to the love you make.
I mean, they had a really wonderful message for the world.
Later, of course, there were many variations, but I think perhaps that might be the most important message they sought to convey.
Would you agree, Sal?
I sure would.
It makes me think of Paul McCartney, the replacement Paul McCartney on Saturday Night Live.
And I remember he was on with Chris Farley and he'd asked him, so do you really think the love you take is equal to the love you make?
And he said, yes, I do.

You know, it's fascinating.
I suspect that was a Neil Sedaka song.
It certainly didn't originate with the Beatles, but it's well sung.
And it's great to have Ringo, the last surviving Beatle of the original four, to be our conclusion to this sequence.
So I'm really tickled that you put it together.
Well, thank you.
If the day never comes again where I get to be on a show with you, I am most grateful that I got a chance to do this with you today.
And I appreciate your patience with my technical lack of knowledge on things.
And I appreciate all your help in putting all this together.
Thank you very much, Jim.
Oh, it's my great pleasure, Saul.
I think you're a great guy.
I'm very glad we're in communication.
I closed by observing that a very dear friend of mine, when I was residing in Lexington, Kentucky, actually was a visitor.
I think I made a return there, asked me, What I would have wanted to do had I been anything other than a professor of philosophy.
And I told her, I mean, a rock star.
I qualified that, meaning, you know, I would have wanted to go into music, music and words and language.
And I suggested, as examples, Paul McCartney and Neil Sedaka.
And now, of course, knowing more, as I do, about what happened to Paul, his fate.
It's one of those cases where you ask, you know, if you wish you could have been somebody else.
For me, actually, I just am glad to be living the life I'm living, where I'm doing my best to get as much truth out about as many subjects that make a difference to the American people, indeed to the world's population, as I can.
But I have to admit, after learning Paul's fate.
I had second thoughts about whether, had I not been Jim Fetzer, I would have wanted to have been Paul McCartney.
Saul, I can't thank you enough for joining me.
This is Jim Fetzer, your host on The Real Deal, back with more specials as occasion permits.
