This is Noam Chomsky, American linguist, political activist, and renowned intellectual.
Thanks for calling, Mr. Chomsky.
Chomsker.
Rohim, it's me, Nomi.
Hi, Nomi.
I am now going to socket to you with a question.
Ready?
I'm ready.
Remember that time when I said Donald Trump was the worst criminal in human history?
Yes.
I was really high then, so you might want to take that into account.
I'm just saying.
So what's changed your mind on that?
I got some better weed.
Yeah.
I mean, total spaz out better.
You'd be surprised how much more you can learn once you expand your mind to within reach of the infinite.
We have to face the stark reality that our democracy was never much to write home about in the first place.
However, there are sections of the country where material benefits are being realized from leveraging the existing mechanism of voting.
Lesser of two evils.
For example, the state of Maine now has complete dental coverage.
Wow.
Well, that's great news.
But only for poor people.
What does that mean, Nomi?
It means if your income depends on whistling, you better not make more than $1,300 a month.
Is that really true?
Bro, would I say it if it weren't really true?
The gnome abides.
What does complete coverage mean in Maine, by the way?
It depends on how you define the term complete in terms of coverage.
We might tarry a moment to contemplate this.
When I think of the concept of complete, I see our galaxy within a universe within another universe of universes inside a wormhole within an even large expanse of time and matter.
A realm that can't conform to the known artificial abstractions we use to reduce the complexity of nature.
So will it cover implants?
Probably not.
Seriously, are you high?
And if so, have you seen my lighter or my matches?
At this point, it doesn't really matter, does it?
They both get the job done when you blaze a righteous choice.
Start bromancing the stone.
But what is Medicare for All.
But what if Medicare for All covered everybody's dental needs?
Shouldn't the party in charge fight for that?
You just want your candy like a little baby.
That's not real politics.
Give me my candy.
Wow, wow, wow, wow.
You baby.
You're just a little baby.
That's who you are.
Ha ha ha.
Ha ha ha.
Thank you.
Now, that's it.
Well, that's not very nice, Nomi.
Come on.
Remember the song I Want Candy by Bow Wow Wow?
What group was that again?
Bow Wow Wow.
I want candy.
Good.
Now do the drums.
It's a mixolydian two-measure syncopated beat pattern using a boom-boom beat on every half step with a latent hesitancy.
I want candy.
That's what you sound like.
Little babies demanding candy.
I want my candy.
Goo-goo-gaga.
big baby.
This totally, totally is perfect.
Why is it okay for Democrats to say they're going to force a vote on an infrastructure and not for Medicare for all?
Are they little babies too?
Infrastructure isn't candy.
Infrastructure is the main course for the people sitting at the adult table.
Crumbling bridges are more important than your crumbling teeth.
You're just like a little goo-goo baby who wants his dessert.
Does baby need his pestifier?
I want candy.
This is...
No, that's really crass and insensitive.
No, I'm serious.
I have the munchies.
I want candy.
Hey, Jimmy, what's the best part of a woodchuck's life?
I don't know.
What's the best part of a woodchuck's life?
When he starts hibernating.
Hibernate.
Got it.
I got it.
Hi, Bernade.
Get it?
Got it, Nomi.
Anyway, time for me to smurf out and head to Tokyo, Vingus.
Keep on rocking the Zama Lama Smokey Dope, and I'll cheat you later, Dingus McPlease.

All right, so Joe Biden did a town hall, And it was apparent that shit is not going right in Joe Biden's head.
I just want to say, first of all, he started off by giving some misinformation about the vaccine.
Now, is he now?
I saw Jen Saki, his press secretary, say you should be, if you're banned for medical misinformation on one platform, you should be banned on all platforms.
Well, they banned Trump.
I wonder if they're going to ban him because here's his misinformation.
Did you catch this, Ron?
You're okay.
Can you turn it up a little?
Yes.
You're okay.
You're not going to get COVID if you have these vaccinations.
So I don't know if you just heard what he said, but that is not a that is misinformation.
That is bad COVID information from the president of the United States.
I thought it was just Trump who did that.
Here he is.
That is not true, what he just said.
And he said it on CNN, and they didn't correct him.
Because I don't know if you watch this, but Don Lemon was acting like Joe Biden's handler instead of a journalist.
A game show host would do a better job than Don Lemon did.
So he's asked about the virus and the vaccine, and here's what he said: you're okay.
You're not going to get COVID if you have these vaccinations.
Now, we know that's not true, that they call them breakout, the Delta variant.
People are getting the breakout.
Now, if you have the vaccine, it's not supposed to be tough on you.
It's supposed to be, you get through it, your symptoms are much lesser.
That's what they say.
That's not what he said.
What he said is if they so that's medical misinformation right there, medical misinformation.
Did you catch that, Ron, when did you see that?
No, no, I didn't catch it the first time, but yeah, that's for sure incorrect.
And he's just now, if I said that, if I went on Joe Rogan and I said that, do you know how many guys would be ripping me a new asshole?
They'd probably write an article about it in BuzzFeed and Newsweek, and Ryan Grimm would never stop tweeting about it from behind a block.
But Joe Biden said it, nobody's saying anything.
He said it last Saturday.
Have you heard anybody say anything?
Has there been a ruckus about Joe Biden giving misin science, giving anti-science answers?
No, no one's even brought it up.
I haven't heard anybody bring it up.
Have you, Ron?
No, not at all.
And yeah, you'd think they would at least say, well, technically, you can still get it.
Like you think they would have.
Yeah.
Like just throwing that in there.
You're a major news network.
So now here he is.
He's trying to.
I don't know what he's trying to do here, but he was trying to, their whole focus was to try to get people who were not inclined to get an experimental vaccine, people who don't trust an experimental vaccine and they don't want to get it.
So they spent most of the show that I saw trying to figure out ways how we can convince those people to take the vaccine, right?
And so here he is saying, like, like, like you say, like, you, well, here's what he says.
That's underway, just like the other question is illogical.
And I've heard you speak about it because you all, I'm not being solicitous, but you're always straight up about what you're doing.
And the question is whether or not we should be in a position where you are, why can't the experts say we know that this virus is in fact going to be Armshiman?
We know why all the drugs approved are not temporarily approved, but permanently approved.
That's underway too.
I expect that to occur quickly.
What?
Honest to God.
What?
What was the question?
Brain is in a microwave.
Like, he's just like.
Willie, literally, what?
I mean, it's frightening.
He's in charge.
That's the guy in charge.
That's the, remember they said, just, we just need a competent individual.
And he got, remember that?
Remember those lawn signs?
They couldn't even pull that off.
No, we got the guy.
Honest to God.
I don't know what he just said there.
We have to.
That's underway.
I just think the other question is illogical.
Dude, it's like he's playing charades.
It's like, wait, I know, unqualified president.
I got it.
I got that one.
What is he saying?
Why did the temporary drugs become permanent?
That didn't even make any sense.
Anyway, so here's more.
Here's more.
Reduce inflation because we're going to be providing.
So he was asked about, because there's inflation happening now.
And he was trying to say that inflation is going to happen in the short term, but not the long term.
It's going to happen right now, but not in the long term.
If inflation happens, that means it happened.
If prices go up, they went up.
So now he expands on that answer.
Watch this.
Reduce inflation because they're going to be providing good opportunities and jobs for people who, in fact, are going to be reinvesting that money back in all the things we're talking about, driving down prices, not raising prices.
And so it is.
I sincerely mean this.
Prices are up now and they're up.
For example, you're in a position where you're trying to build a house.
Try to find two by fours and lumber.
Well, guess what?
People stopped working, cutting lumber.
They stopped doing it because the unemployment was so down.
Why did they stop cutting?
Because the unemployment was so down?
What?
What are you talking about?
They stopped cutting lumber because unemployment was so down.
Now, all of a sudden, there's this need because people are coming back.
And guess what?
Instead of paying 10 cents, you're paying 20.
You understand what I'm saying?
No.
It relates to what, in fact, is now needed because we're growing.
Prices are.
So, Joe, the way it happens is prices are elastic.
It's demand and supply.
So people are, why do we have to pay more?
I don't understand.
If Kaiser cut, what?
You're saying there's a lumber?
Okay.
Dude, it sounds like it's not linear.
Like, it sounds like it's a poorly edited sound bite, but it's not.
He's actually just saying all those things.
Like, it sounds like it was like spliced.
Yeah, it sounds like somebody spliced that shit together, but he literally said all that.
He literally said all that.
I mean, it sounds like he didn't.
It sounds like he's just going, well, I mean, the economy and prices are high and then quantity potato chips.
Like, what the hell?
What just happened there?
Try to get a two by four Because guys they stopped cutting wood Okay Thank you But, folks, the rest of the world's wondering about us.
Those of you who travel abroad, not a joke, not a joke.
You asked, you know, when I went to this G7, all the major democracies, I walked in and I know a lot of them because of my role in the past.
And they walk in and I said, America's back.
And they go, I'm serious, heads of state.
I give you my word as a Biden.
Say, are you really back?
I mean, how can I, we believe you, Joe, but will the country ever get it together?
No, when they said, are you really back?
They meant you, Joe.
Like, are you really present?
Are you here?
Are you demented?
Are you really back?
What the fuck does that mean, Ron?
What does that mean?
Are you really back?
What?
What are the people of America going to get their act together?
What?
Are we back?
Well, you started bombing Somalia.
I would say we're back.
You started, I started bombing Somalia.
You started ramping up the bombing in Afghanistan.
I would say we're back.
You started putting sanctions on Cuba.
We're back.
You denied people public option, the $15 minimum wage, and student debt relief and Medicare for all.
I would say America's back.
Wow.
But folks, you should be able to go out and make a billion dollars or $100 million if you have the capacity to do it.
But ask one thing: pay your fair share.
Just paying a fair share.
I really mean it.
If you know anything about me, check me out.
We have more corporations registered in Delaware than all the rest of America combined.
Combined.
Combined.
I don't know why he says that like that.
He's trying to, he's trying, he thinks he's making a point like, look how smart I have all this experience dealing with corporations.
That is the...
I'm going to play it again.
I record...
So now he thinks he's making a point here that shows, look at all the experience I have in dealing with this, but that's not really the point he's making.
And I'll show it to you in a minute.
I really mean it.
If you know anything about me, check me out.
We have more corporations registered in Delaware than all the rest of America combined.
Combined.
Combined.
I represented for 36 years.
I've never seen a time when we have the middle class growing that the wealthy didn't do very, very, very well.
So that's what we have to do.
Build it out and up, not just down.
So that people like our.
We're screwing over the middle class harder than all previous generations combined.
Combined.
Combined.
Third times the charge.
He had to say it three times.
So he was saying that there are more corporations headquartered in his state that he represented than all the other states combined.
And why are they there?
They're there because assholes like Joe Biden give them.
Well, here we go.
Why is Delaware considered a tax shelter?
Delaware does not have a corporate tax on investment income or interest that a Delaware holding company earns.
Holding companies in Delaware are not taxed on its gains or the state level.
The state does not have a corporate tax on investment income or investment income on interest that a Delaware holding company earns.
Delaware also does not have any personal property tax.
As a tax haven, Delaware offers numerous incentives to CEOs.
You don't need to reside in Delaware to incorporate there.
In fact, non-residents reap the biggest rewards.
Large companies, such as the more than 60% of Fortune 500 companies, call Delaware home because of its no-tax state for businesses.
That's what.
So he was touting that as somehow gives him gravitas to do something with the economy.
No, that's a big fucking scam that people are using your state to rip off the rest of the country.
That doesn't give you gravitas.
That doesn't give you bona fides on being a specialist and dealing with anything except graft and corruption.
Combined.
Combined.
There's more graft and corruption happening in Delaware than all the other states.
Combined.
Combined.
Biden offers to keep the 2017 Trump tax cuts intact in infrastructure counteroffer to GOP.
So when he said pay your fair share, he was lying.
He doesn't want rich people to pay their fair share.
He was lying.
He's a pathological liar.
That's Joe Biden.
Pathological liar and more corrupt than Trump.
Joe Biden, more corrupt than Trump.
Can you believe it?
Yes.
You know, one of the people who took advantage of the Delaware thing, too, in 1996 was none other than Mr. Jeff Bezos.
Oh, look at that.
Combined.
And then he made more money than everyone combined.
Combined.
Here's some more.
You got the vaccination?
Yeah.
So here he is trying to talk about how we convince people who don't want to take the vaccination.
This is what he thinks he's saying.
You got the vaccination?
Yeah.
Are you okay?
I mean, you seem, no, it works.
Or you, you know, or the mom and dad or the neighbor or when you go to church or when you're, no, I really mean it.
There are.
Why does he say that all the time?
I know, I really mean it.
Dude, is this, are you constantly being confronted with people are going, you don't fucking mean that.
No, no, no, no, no.
I really do.
Almost every time he talks, he goes, I'm serious.
I really mean it.
It sounds like a really bad sketch where he just decided to go off script.
Yeah.
Watch this.
It is.
It's like, so I'm going to ask you if you got it.
And then you do your thing.
And then I'm just going to, I might improv a little bit.
That might be a bad idea, Joe.
No, I'm going to go for it.
You stand me.
I'm going to see if I feel it.
It's not coming from me.
It's coming through me.
You got the vaccination?
Yeah.
Are you okay?
I mean, you seem, no, it works.
Or you, you know, or the mom and dad or the neighbor or when you go to church or when you're, no, I really mean it.
There are trusted interlocutors.
Think of the people.
If your kid wanted to find out whether or not there were, there's a man on the moon or, you know, something.
Or, you know, whether those aliens are here or not.
You know, who are the people they talk to beyond the kids who love talking about it?
What is what?
If you're kidding.
If you want to see about the aliens, somebody name it occupation.
I heard.
What?
People are going to go on the internet and they're going to look stuff up, Joe.
They're not going to go to the grocery store and ask a stranger.
That's what he was saying.
The man on the moon.
What if your kid has a question about the man on the moon?
What?
Now they got to talk to somebody, except the kids who always talk about this.
What is he?
That was a word.
He sounds like he's from a different time.
Yeah, well, he is.
Like, he sounds like just the way he talks and the examples that come to his head.
Like, he's not, he's not that old.
You know what I mean?
Like, there's not.
There are probably people his age who are like, what the hell?
We weren't alive for that, Joe.
Are you kidding?
We're not that.
Like, he's like Mark Twain minus humor, intellect, and any type of insight.
If Mark Twain had none of those things, and Mark Twain has all those things, I'm a big fan of Mark Twain's work, but if he had none of those things, he'd be Joe Biden.
That's Joe Biden.
That is Joe Biden.
I like how this guy say, it's crushing it.
He got 29,000 likes off that.
I love what people were saying.
What the fuck did I just listen to?
No one knows.
No one really knows.
Nobody knows.
Hey, this is Jimmy.
Hello.
This is White House inside of Bernie Sanders.
And I have some great news for progressives.
I am taking a very pragmatic turn to say that Joe Biden's spending plan is the most transformational progressive policy proposal in the last 100 years.
You're saying it's better than the New Deal.
The New Deal sucks by comparison.
A mere bag of shells.
How can you even compare the two like that?
Because Joe Biden is not only a friend of mine, whom I respect, but he will also be just like FDR, whom I also respect.
Now, come on now.
Let me finish.
I was saying Joe Biden will be just like FDR if FDR had been one-tenth as effective as he was.
Despite all that, I am still confident his, I mean, our recovery budget will dwarf FDR's New Deal.
There's no comparison, Bernie.
Oh, yeah, Smart Alec.
Joe's recovery plan will cost almost $3 trillion.
FDR's New Deal was a measly $42 billion.
Yeah, those figures are deceptive in today's dollars.
The New Deal came to over $700 billion, and that was for a population one-third the size it is today.
All right, we'll suck on this.
Joe's recovery budget will equal a whopping 10 or maybe even 15% of America's economic output.
The New Deal equaled 40% of America's economic output.
Yeah, well, okay, but then the 15% is still a lot.
Yeah, but the bill allows Republicans to funnel billions in recovery funds to pay for tax cuts to the rich, Bernie.
All right, such a damn piehole.
You apparently don't care about kids because kids are going to get $300 a month, and that's through December.
The New Deal lasted seven years, and its policies like Social Security, unemployment insurance, and labor laws are still helping people today and children also 85 years later.
All right, shut up.
And I'll tell you why.
With our civilian climate corps, we're going to create jobs and cut greenhouse gas emissions to possibly zero by 2050.
Climate scientists say we only have 13 years left to do this, not 30.
All right, Mr. Downerface, but I'm confident we might be able to push Joe to the left on this.
Hey, Biden just approved 2,500 requests to drill for oil and gas on public lands.
The highest level of permanent approval since George W. Bush, and he won't ban fracking.
I know you're leading up to something here, but I can't quite put my finger on it.
I'm saying it's all bullshit lie to compare this favorably to the New Deal.
That's what I'm saying.
This is unacceptable.
It's almost like you take all of the deceptively positive things people say about this budget and rip it apart with facts.
What's your problem?
Yeah, my problem is all those economic environmental policy failures will trigger complete collapse of society that Yale and MIT researchers predict will happen by 2040.
King, cancel our goddamn timeshare.
I'm here with Graham Elwood, the host of the political vigilante, and also the co-hosts.
He's the co-host of Government Secrets with Lee Camp.
Check out his show on Rofkin.
His channel was demonetized by YouTube.
So check out Graham on Rofkin because his content is dangerous.
It's very dangerous, Jimmy.
Very dangerous.
YouTube, I call them CIA Tube.
They can't handle me.
So they try to demonetize me.
So I'm over at the Rock Finn staying afloat, bobbing and weaving on my crypto.
So we covered, I covered a story about the FBI before that's like this.
What the FBI does is they got nothing else to do, apparently.
So they think up these crazy terrorism plots, and then they go to try to find these dupes and try to go, hey, here's a plot.
You want to do it?
Here's some money.
Go do it.
We're with you.
And then they find the biggest idiot in the world who's maybe literally mentally impaired and they get them to do these things and they go, look, we caught some terrorists.
That's what they do.
They take morons and they fill them with terrorist plots, give them money to carry it out, and then they go, we caught them.
Give the FBI some more money.
So they're doing it again.
This happens all the time, by the way.
This happens all the time.
So here's the latest.
13 men are charged in an alleged plot to kidnap the Michigan governor.
You remember that?
You remember that story, Graham?
You remember that story, right?
I did not know that story quite well.
Six men face federal charges, another seven charged under Michigan state laws.
Oh, wow.
Look at this.
And then, but then BuzzFeed News, watching the watchman.
Who's watching the watchman?
The watchman.
An examination of the case by BuzzFeed News reveals that informants acting under the direction of the FBI played a far larger role than has been previously Reported.
People working with the FBI did more shady things.
Wow, you don't say.
Look at that.
Working in secret, they did more than just passively observe and report on the actions of suspects.
Instead, they had a hand in nearly every aspect of the alleged plot, starting with its inception.
Just like I told you they do.
They think up these plots.
They find dupes to do it.
They convince them to do it.
And then they finance it.
Then they go, we caught them.
It's their own plot they thought up.
The extent of their involvement raises questions as to whether there would have been even a extent of their involvement raises questions as to whether there would have even been a conspiracy without them.
Meaning, if the FBI wasn't around, there wouldn't have been any crime.
Nobody would have done this.
Hmm.
Huh.
So they weren't just monitoring the farm.
They planted the seeds.
It's weird because I'm sure this has nothing to do with this at all.
That we found out January 6th that the head of the Proud Boys and the head of the Oath Keepers were both FBI informants.
Whoa!
Weird.
What a wacky coincidence that is that this thing, this event, they had, they knew was going to happen.
They don't send any extra cops.
A Black Lives Matter, just one little Black Lives Matter rally in one town.
The cops show up armed to the teeth, yet they have credible intel.
100,000 people are going to show up at the Capitol and they basically have a handful of Capitol cops.
The D.C. police aren't there.
There's no National Guard there.
There's nothing.
And we find out later, I mean, and this sounds exactly, this is what the FBI, I mean, it sounds like what they do.
They get the group of people, they wind them up and say, you guys should go do this.
They do it, but the FBI is somehow behind it.
And those two, the Oathkeeper guy and the Proud Boys guy, both are FBI informants.
So I mean, I got to ask this question.
I know that that means now I'm a pro-Trumper or something if I ask this question, but I'm not, this is how the FBI does this.
They've been infiltrating activist groups.
I mean, this is what they do.
I mean, we can't trust them.
We can't trust our own government and our own police department in any way, shape, or form.
100%.
A longtime government informant from Wisconsin, for example, helped organize a series of meetings around the country where many of the alleged plotters first met one another and the earliest notions of a plan took root.
Rumor had it.
The guy even brought beer to the meetings.
The Wisconsin informant even paid for some hotel rooms and food as an incentive to get people to come.
The Iraq, so he's trying to get people to come.
So the FBI is paying for people's rooms, buying people food.
Hey, come to this big terrorist plot meeting.
No, we got you covered.
We'll cover your travel and your lodging.
Who does?
The FBI.
The FBI.
The FBI.
The Iraq war vet, Dan, became so deeply enmeshed in a Michigan militant group that he rose to become its second in command, encouraging members to collaborate with other potential suspects and paying for their transportation to meetings.
You want to kidnap the governor?
Come on, I'll give you a ride.
He prodded the alleged mastermind of the kidnapping plot to advance his plan, then baited the trap that led to the arrests.
So these people, you see what's happening.
And it's so easy to find out BuzzFeed was able to do it.
All but one of the 14 original defendants have pleaded not guilty, and they vigorously denied that they were involved in a conspiracy to kidnap anyone.
Last week, the lawyer for one defendant filed a motion that included texts from the FBI agent to a key informant, the Iraq war veteran, directing him to draw specific people into the conspiracy, potential evidence of entrapment that he said the government inadvertently disclosed.
So they're entrapping people, which is illegal.
And they inadvertently leaked that evidence that they were entrapping people.
One of the lead prosecutors handling the case was reassigned in May pending an attorney general audit into whether he had withheld evidence about deals cut with informants during a murder and arson trial in Oakland County in 2000.
Wow.
And on Sunday, in a matter apparently unrelated to the alleged kidnapping conspiracy, one of the lead FBI agents in the case was charged in state court with assault with intent to do great bodily harm.
These are the guys who are breaking up the kidnapping plot that they invented themselves.
Between 2012 and 2018, the FBI spent an average of $42 million a year on payments to informants, which it officially calls confidential human sources, according to a recent audit of the program by the Justice Department's inspector general.
Many of the defense attorneys have argued that the watchman would never have been involved in any kind of plot at all if it weren't for Dan, the FBI informant.
It was Dan, the combat veteran who taught the watchman the military tactics, the attorney claimed.
After agreeing to work with the FBI, Dan would be given $24,000 and a new car for his services.
Hey, you start a kidnapping op.
It's $24,000 for a governor, $50,000 for a president.
Mayor, it's like $5,000 to $6,000, depending on the city.
Dan, of course, has not been charged, nor has the other 3% organizer Robeson, leading many to suspect that he, too, had been working on the government's behalf.
Boy, members of hate groups and people who initiate kidnapping governors, just the kind of company that the FBI keeps, ladies and gentlemen.
Robeson has denied nothing in his own criminal case, yet he has a gun.
But his lawyer argued he'd also had something else, permission as a confidential informant to engage in illegal conduct.
Robeson's action, no matter how far outside the lines, were done with authorization from the FBI.
And now you know the rest of the story.
It's not in this article, but I wrote another article, Graham, that said that there were, I'm going to, I might get the numbers off because I don't have the facts in front of me, but there was, say, eight people in a van going to do the kidnapping, and five of those people were FBI.
I mean, this is just so insane.
The FBI, We're all supposed to believe, you know, in the TV shows they put out in the movies that they're just going to put an undercover guy and one of these, you know, crazy organizations and then just get evidence.
That's what we're told how it works.
And that's what we assume they would do, right?
Oh, we're going to put FBI people undercover and then they're just going to witness these organizations committing crimes and then they collect evidence.
And that's what we think they were supposed to be doing.
That's what they should be doing if these demand, you know, and there's some scary groups out there, whatever.
But no, they go there and organize something well beyond what these groups ever even thought of doing.
They train them.
They give them military tactics.
I mean, this is insane.
This is the FBI.
And this happened under Trump.
It happened under Obama.
It's happening under Biden.
We have this rogue, crazy fascist state, and it has very little to do with whether there's a Democrat or Republican in the White House.
I mean, it has nothing.
It's been going on.
Yeah.
I mean, the person who militarized the police was who, Barack Obama.
And the person who's doing it again is Joe Biden.
So they just invented another intelligence agency.
It's called the Capitol Police.
They gave them $2 billion.
They're opening up offices in every state so they can go investigate you.
Another spy agency, Joe Biden invented.
You happy?
You happy you voted blue, you fucking suckers?
I'm very excited to have back to the show.
She was our guest was one of the first Justice Democrats.
She ran for Senate in West Virginia challenging Joe Manchin.
She won the Democratic Party primary in 2019.
She is a committed activist fighting against corruption.
We are proud to be one of the first people to ever interview her.
We did on this show.
Today, she is here with some exciting news to tell you about.
She is Paula Jean Swergen.
Paula Jean, so good to see you.
Thanks for coming back on the show.
I think it's fantastic.
We have a wonderful lady here, Paula Jean.
Now, Paula Jean has a goddamn announcement.
She's leaving the Democratic Party.
She's joining the People's Party.
Now, tell everybody why you're doing that.
Well, I'm really surprised I haven't done it before.
It goes back.
Well, you know, West Virginia has been a Democratic state for a long time.
And everybody really knows my struggle, you know, struggle as a single mom, born a coal miner's daughter and granddaughter.
You know, a lot of people here don't have access to clean water.
I've buried a lot of my family members and friends because not only because of our zip code, but because my family worked in the industry.
And back in the 1990s, we had a gubernatorial race and there's this lady called named Charlotte Pritt.
She actually beat Joe Manchin in a primary in a gubernatorial race.
And the Democratic Party and Joe Manchin actually formulated a campaign against her and supported the Republican.
It was Democrats for Underwood.
We've had like our current governor, he was a Republican.
He's one of the richest coal barons in West Virginia.
He's the richest man in West Virginia, actually.
And he owes unpaid mine fines in Tennessee, Kentucky, West Virginia, Virginia, and West Virginia, as well as he has unpaid taxes.
Joe Manchin recruited him, campaigned for him, helped him get elected.
The Democrats got behind him.
After he got elected, he changed his party affiliation back to Republican.
And it's just these things are over and over.
Larry Puccio used to be the former chair of the West Virginia Party.
Belinda Biafor is the chair of the party now.
And she's rumored to be Joe Manchin's first cousin.
So it's deeply entrenched with corruption here the party's been.
And when I ran for office in 2018, I was treated with utter disrespect.
I went to a West Virginia Federation Democratic Women's Meeting.
They wouldn't even say my name when they announced me.
Well, the U.S. Senate candidate come up.
And, you know, I was told, well, you know, we don't show biases in a primary, but we'll support you in a general.
Well, that really didn't happen.
Joe Manchin didn't even come out.
It was a U.S. Senate race, and they didn't even push for a debate against the Republican, which my Republican opponent was Shelly Moore Capito.
And her and Joe Manchin are good friends.
And it's just, it's gotten to the point that I really feel like unless we build a new national people's party, nothing is really going to change.
We've seen many people go have good intent, get elected from a local level to a federal level.
They get infiltrated.
Shelly Moore Capito and Joe Manchin are funded by the same funders, the same dark funders.
And these people, when they get into office, they pressure them.
They become corporate.
They don't push for the policies like a living wage, Medicare for all.
I'm just sick of it.
And, you know, I've been in this movement for almost 20 years.
I'm a mother and I'm a grandmother now.
I'm tired of fighting the people that are supposed to align with me.
And it's time for all of us to unite and stand together.
You know, as long as we fight these people, we're going to continue to struggle.
And there's no unity within the Democratic Party or the Republican Party.
It's time for us to build our own national party.
And I fully believe in that.
Well, I couldn't endorse what you just said more.
I really do.
Of course, we need a third party.
You know, if we keep doing what we've done, we're going to, we get an, we finally got Trump.
And now we're going to get, now we got the worst version of Hillary Clinton and Joe Biden.
And it just, we're going backwards.
This is going backwards.
And so I just want to show people that AOC's PAC, AOC's PAC, donated over $100,000 in leftist cash to right-wing Democrat incumbents ahead of the 2022 Democratic primary election.
So what this means is that AOC is taking money that you give to AOC, which she thinks she's going to go fight for Medicare for all and student loan forgiveness and living wage and the wars.
That's what you think is going to happen.
She takes that money you give to her and her PAC and she gives it to people who are against all that stuff.
So if somebody tries to primary them from the left, she's giving them the money to fight back against lefties.
That's what she's doing.
And here's what Paula Jean said.
She says, this is not what we supported when we started.
Pretty sure AOC is batting for what the party wanted her to do, not what will help to pass the policies we need.
I'm highly disappointed with my colleague, and I won't align myself with her anymore.
So was that the final straw for you?
I mean, what do you, what do you, what happened to the Justice Democrats?
And how could they stay silent about AOC using her supporters' donations to bankroll right-wing Democrats?
Well, that was part of where I got there.
But I think the final straw with me and the party is we had a racist, racist implosion with our Democratic executive committee.
And because of COVID, it was actually in front of the public.
These things have been going on with the party for a while.
And Belinda Biafor, after public outcry, had been asked to step down.
The National Party didn't do anything about it.
And things like this.
You know, we had high hopes.
And, you know, we were told you fought, you fight within.
And once you get there, you know, you can be a real fighter.
And how, and people, all ladies give up their lunches to help us get elected.
And all of us worked hard, not only the slate mates that AOC had, but the people behind the scenes.
We have sacrificed our lives to run for office.
If I was in the Senate right now, I'd be getting arrested on the Senate floor.
You know, she doesn't have to work with these people.
She has enough political expediency that she could go on Twitter right now and she could be at that Medicare for all rally on Saturday.
She could still be fighting for Medicare for all.
I've only heard one time this year she even mentioned Medicare for all.
And that's not acceptable.
We don't need any heroes anymore.
We need actual public servants.
And she's been painted the progressive baby.
And I'm highly disappointed that she sold out.
Us as voters, constituents, people that are actually struggling in this movement, like myself, that have worked minimum wage jobs and hours upon hours fighting for my family and my community, and then fighting real hard to get people like AOC elected just to go and even stump for Nancy Pelosi.
And they don't care if we live or die.
First, she talked about West Virginia a little bit.
And then, you know, she was, you know, she was, I thought, despite the problems with Justice Democrats and everything else, that she would actually do the work, but she's not now.
The longer she's there, the less she goes more right instead of left.
And the whole system, I think, is strategically designed to make sure that we're divided and we're working against each other and the people don't have true representation.
And let's talk about Justice Democrats.
We all run as a slate.
We all were recruited by Brandon Congress.
We're going to, you know, we're going to build this beautiful thing.
You were there.
You interviewed me.
And then after AOC got elected, you know, the leaders of brand new Congress went and split the pack with Justice Democrats.
And there were people like Rocana that was photo-opted in which Joe Manchin and recruiting against the people that we were supposed to align with and endorsing corporatists.
And AOC was actually on the board with Justice Democrats.
And then after she got elected, she created this big story that we were all recruited and, you know, by Justice Democrats.
And that simply was not true.
And so she came out of the gate lying.
And also, she pissed on her colleagues in the meantime because they were putting all their stock in AOC, all their money into AOC.
They were candidates that went in debt.
We were all struggling and we were left behind.
And now we can't even call her.
She's not available to us after we helped her get elected.
And that's no different than any court, you know, that's no different than Joe Manchin, Shelly Moore Capito in West Virginia.
We have to get arrested in their offices to be heard.
And now people that actually align with AOC, we don't even get as much as a phone call.
And that hurts this whole movement.
And that's why we need a new party.
I think she had good intent, but now she's there and she's given money to the people that we promised to fight the most.
That's unforgivable.
I can't believe that.
And so when you're saying that she, you don't get a return phone call for if you call AOC, even though you worked for her, you helped her get her elected.
You were in the movie with her, but she doesn't return your phone calls because that's what's the number for AOC now.
My team in 2020, she gave from her PAC, she gave my, you know, she gave my campaign money a week before the general, which was nice, but she didn't even speak out for the candidates that she's supposed to.
With brand new Congress this last cycle, we had signed a pledge that we would not endorse other candidates against each other.
And she endorsed against one of our slate mates.
Just because she's popular doesn't mean she's a public representative.
And she's going to lie to get there.
And she's lying to her constituency now and lying to the American people.
She's not the progressive baby that we thought she was.
Wow.
Wow.
So.
And I mean, I like, I mean, as a person, I like AOC, but I'm wondering what's going on, especially, you know, things were screwy before she got there.
But since she's gotten there, she won't even give the rest of us a time of day.
Now, if we were, you know, were to get elected, she might, as a Democrat, she might, you know, give us the time of day, but she doesn't talk to any of us anymore.
Yeah, I know that the people about us.
It's about everybody in America.
Those kinds of things happening.
Representatives getting there and actually not representing.
And we do not need heroes.
We need public servants.
Now, Paul, what do you think about the DSA?
Because it's been revealed in the last, certainly through Force to Vote and now through the Medicare for All marches, that the DSA, the members of the DSA, I think, are good people and they have their right intentions and they're being misled by the DSA's rep. There's just nothing but a Democratic sheepherding organization that will never actually oppose the Democratic Party in any real way.
And they'll never try to put a hurt on the Democratic Party.
They are 100%.
The leadership of the DSA is 100% sheepdogging, corrupted, infiltrating organization for the Democratic Party.
What do you say to that?
Well, I've really not invested enough to look into the Democratic Socialists, but here's the problem.
You know, I said for a while, do not donate to anybody but candidates and make sure they get that money.
But I'm saying now I'm finally found a place that I can believe in.
And I fully believe in building a new party because I've been in this long enough.
I've been in politics and I never wanted to be a politician for four years.
These political operatives, they formulate these packs.
They put money in it for themselves to get high salaries.
They do not invest in these campaigns like they should.
And all these groups, a lot of these groups are infiltrated by the establishment and they're not really working to actually get people elected.
And that's why I said for a long time, I'm not dismissing the idea of maybe one day I'll run for office, but I am not going to take an old lady's $5 lunch and send it to somebody else so they can get rich off our backs.
And that's what's happening with a lot of these organizations.
And I think that's also why it's vitally important to build a new national party, a place of integrity, and something that we can believe in.
You know, I've heard the rumors that the movement for the people's party has had some problems, but I would rather have people that make honest mistakes instead of people being pre-positioned in my demise or blatantly lie to people, especially when they're taking poor people's money and they're giving that to people that don't need the money.
And they're just infiltrating the whole movement of us just trying to fight for our lives.
I like what you said when you tweeted out.
You said, I'm leaving the Democrats.
I can't support racism or them ignoring Appalachian children dying and suffering.
The DNC has ignored it too.
I won't.
I'll be announcing my next step soon, and it's joining the People's Party.
And you say our systems are broken.
We can't rebuild a two-party system with division and hate.
It seems like that's all the Democrats have.
Anybody, even people who call themselves progressives now, it seemed like they're all wrapped up in hatred of the Republicans and Donald Trump and his supporters and the people who support him.
And they're focused on that.
They want to focus on things like January 6th and their hatred of the other.
And I think the People's Party is focused on organizing around populist ideas that unite the populist left and the populist right, like the people who are for ending the wars, the people who are for a $15 minimum wage, the people who are for Medicare single payer health care system.
I think that we can organize around those issues, right?
What do you think?
Absolutely.
And the thing is, there is no rebuilding the division and the hate.
And I really don't like the labels.
I called myself a progressive because to me it meant progress.
But in 2018, we had our Republican attorney general that was running for office.
He said he had a grassroots progressive campaign.
Joe Manchin said he had a grassroots progressive campaign.
Richard Ojeda, you know, he was changing his mind with the wind, had a grassroots progressive campaign.
And people were following that and believing in it.
And that's where it's vitally important.
You know, I kept on saying to veteran candidates, but I mean, I'm done.
I'm done with all that corruption.
I'm actually relieved.
I feel liberated to actually get back to my organizational roots and build something that we can actually believe in.
And there's accountability.
And we, you know, we can hold each other responsible.
But again, we cannot hold anybody responsible that is predispositioned in their demise.
And that's the whole problem with the two-party system.
It's going to be corrupt.
We can fight within, but that's the harder they're going to fight for the people that they're supposed to serve.
And so just in closing, what do you think happened to the Justice Democrats?
Why do you think they don't strategize and vote as a block like the Tea Party did?
Because they have all the power.
They could block any bill and every bill if they wanted to get their demands met, yet they won't do it.
Why do you think that is?
I say it's because they're corrupt because they get the speaking fees.
They got book deals.
They don't want Nancy Pelosi to fund somebody who's going to primary them.
And then finally they have to do a stay five years and they get retirement for the rest.
They get a pension for the rest of their life.
So they're doing this for their own person.
So that's corrupt.
That's the definition of corrupt, in fact, that they're being dishonest for their own personal gain.
Is that what you think happened?
I think it is personal gain.
Shoycott Tepardi and Corbyn Trent were trying to formulate another pack.
And let's get another AOC elected in West Virginia.
And I wouldn't support that.
I think they just follow the money and they follow the buzz.
And it really wasn't intended to elect real public servants.
You know, I think that AOC is friends with those folks way back.
And I think they used us to make sure the AOC got elected.
Even before, you know, they were pulling out of our campaigns.
They promised all these services.
And right toward the end before AOC's primary, they were taking everything away from us and they were vesting everything in her.
And I think the first intent was to get AOC elected.
And to be honest with you, I don't think the Democratic Party would have let her through the gate.
She pretended to be an ordinary person.
She never told us that she worked for the Kennedys.
Her mother in an interview said that she wanted to be president one day.
She had decided she wanted in politics and she laid the framework of acting like she was one of us when you had real struggling people, not only the candidates, but people behind the scenes that really believed that we could get real public servants elected.
And then now she's just doing what she lied about.
I think she lied to get there.
And I'm disappointed.
I'm very disappointed.
But now I think we have suffered a lot of losses in this movement.
I'm stubborn, but I'm also a mother and grandmother.
I cut my leg off for my kids.
I'm not done.
I'm not giving up, but I'm not going to invest in people anymore that are not going to actually do some good, honest work and making sure that we have a government that serves us.
And it's going to take overhaul and it's going to take a new national party.
And I hope everybody listens to what I'm saying.
I've been there.
I've been into the internal grind work and I know how dishonest these people are.
It's beat me down, but it's going to pick me back up.
And nobody should feel beat down right now.
We can, excuse me, a nap.
We can.
We can build a new party and we can build a government that serves us and we can get actual people servants elected.
But we've got to quit getting putting everything behind these dishonest people and fighting people that are designed to fight us.
Well, 62% of Americans are in favor of a third party.
That's unbelievable.
And anybody who says that it's a bad idea when 62% of the Americans want it and the two-party system is obviously only working for the oligarchs, that's just misguided.
I don't even want to call it a third party.
I want a new national party.
I want new language.
I don't, you know, we, you know, we don't need more, any more dividing language.
We need a new national party.
And it, you know, we need to work from the ground up to create it and make sure that people are actually represented moving forward.
Okay.
Paula Jean Swearingen, thank you so much.
Yes.
Thank you.
And she's her big announcement is she has joined the People's Party.
There it is.
And Harry By, here's your, there's the tweet where you announced that I'm joining the People's Party.
Two-party systems are gatekeepers who work for the corporations and they don't let the rest of us into their so-called big tent.
If we don't work together to build a major new party that works for all of us, we'll continue to suffer together.
That couldn't be said better.
Everybody, say thanks to Paula Jean Swearingen for coming on and for telling the truth about the Democratic Party and for joining the People's Party, because that's the only hope we have right now electorally.
That's for sure.
The Justice Democrats and the progressives getting elected inside the party is a complete failure.
So thank you so much again, Paula Jean.
We'll see you next time.
