No, It's Not Okay for the Government to Constantly Lie to Us - From Lessons Learned Through History

On this edition of The Truth Central, Dr. Jerome Corsi explains how today's leaders and voters could learn today from political machinations of the past through three very important books about government deception and corruption: 1. How FDR, through lying to the American people at the time, manipulated the nation into fighting World War II through Douglas Horne's book: The McCollum Memorandum: A Story of Washington, D.C. in 1940-41: Franklin D. Roosevelt's Journey from Deterrence to Provocation on the Road to Pearl Harbor2. How Senator Frank Church, the man at the center of numerous investigations into the abuses of power within the American government, tried to expose corruption and malfeasance while up against a very powerful establishment through James Risen's book: The Last Honest Man: The CIA, the FBI, the Mafia, and the Kennedys―and One Senator's Fight to Save Democracy 3. Mattias Desmet's in-depth study of how people become enamored by Marxist/Socialist philosophies in his book: The Psychology of Totalitarianism. Time Text
This is Dr. Jerome Corse and today is Friday, July 21st, 2023.
We're going to do something a little bit different today.
I've decided to really do a show focusing on some of the books I think are important.
I want to cover a couple of books here that I want you to pay attention to, if you can, because I think they're making statements that are really important to make today.
The first of these books is one by Douglas Horn, And Chris will show it on the screen.
I have it right here.
It's the, it's a big book.
It's the McCollum Memorandum, a story of Washington D.C.
in 1940 to 1941.
Now this, this goes along with a couple of other books that Douglas Horn has done on this subject.
One here was the, this is, there's two volumes of this, and they're very, very good.
This is on the, he calls this the Deception, Intrigue, and the Road to War.
It's all about Pearl Harbor, and the subtitle is A Chronology of Significant Events Detailing President Franklin D. Roosevelt's Successful Effort Now, the background of this story, the context of the story, is that in the 1930s, when Hitler was coming to power, he came to power in 1933, he became Chancellor of Germany, and increasingly it was clear that Hitler was planning on going to war.
It didn't incur until 1938 when he invaded Poland.
But it had been incurring a series of takeovers, as it were, where he had gotten territory, Austria-Hungary, Czechoslovakia, he had different concessions to him, beginning to move to expand Germany.
And the world was clear that Hitler was likely going to war.
Now, the United States had no interest in going to war again in Europe.
We had been in World War I, and it seemed like a pointless war.
Woodrow Wilson said it was the war to end all wars.
This was going to be the final victory over war.
Well, it didn't last very long because World War I ended in 1918 and by 1935-36 it was pretty clear
the world was going to likely go to war again. And Hitler had formed an alliance with Japan.
The two countries together were expanding and had an Axis power which combined Mussolini in Italy, Hitler in Germany, and a various... Hirohito was the emperor of Japan but was ruled by really a group of military, military Hunta, as it were, that wanted to go to war for Japan because Japan was an island nation, had limited resources, and they wanted, they were looking at Indochina.
They actually had invaded China, Japan invaded China in the 1930s, and wanted to deal favorably with the United States because we were supplying Japan oil.
Japan needed oil to run its navy and to run its economy, and Japan had virtually no oil.
So it would have to get oil either from us or from going down into Indonesia and the whole area below to the south of Japan which was oil rich.
So the issue here was especially after Hitler went to war in Poland, Germany, then the UK declared war on Germany, all these nations that had pacts with Poland, France, etc., they all went to war with Germany, and eventually Germany invaded through Belgium and took over France, and then began to attack London with the Blitz, a series of bombings of Great Britain and bombing
London.
Now, the problem was, England's an island country itself, and had limited resources, and needed to be supplied.
Also, if the United States had not entered World War I, Germany most likely would have won, and the world knew that.
So the American side did not want to fight in another European war.
Too many people have been lost.
It was pointless.
We were going through the depression.
It just seemed no ambition whatsoever in the United States to again put an army together and go to war in Europe.
But Roosevelt knew that if we didn't enter against Germany, Germany was going to beat Great Britain.
And Stalin also had a problem.
Stalin in 1939 formed a pact with Hitler, non-aggression, but it was always being debated as to whether Hitler was going to attack Stalin or Stalin was going to attack Hitler, because the two of them, communism and fascism, which was a leftist ideology in Germany, did not get along.
They were at odds, and they had fought through the Weimar Republic and the streets of Berlin and other cities, and finally the Nazis won.
Communists largely had to flee Germany, many of them came to the United States for the Frankfurt School, which are a bunch of Marxists that I write about in other books.
So what Douglas Horn did is he studied the whole, how was Roosevelt going to handle this?
Now Roosevelt had a few, he started out with various conferences with Churchill, they actually met together off of Halifax.
They each took military vessels and they sailed to get to a meeting together in which they were going to discuss how they were going to fight this war with Germany largely on the doorstep of taking over Great Britain.
And Operation Sea Lion which was the invasion that was scheduled by Germany into Great Britain was going to follow the bombardment of Great Britain by the Luftwaffe.
Now when they met together, when two of them got together off of Halifax on board the ship, they came up with an Atlantic Charter and essentially secret agreements were made.
Secret agreements were that Roosevelt was going to supply Lend-Lease, he was going to get as much equipment as he could to Great Britain, and at the same time, we've done, by the way, we've done a three-hour broadcast with Douglas Horn, and Chris is showing it right now, and it's been up on various channels, I'll be writing articles about it, but it's a brilliant broadcast.
Doug Horn Also has, he was Navy himself, and he has a history, he was on the Assassinations Records Review Board that was created after Oliver Stone's movie on JFK, and the Assassinations Records Review Board was designed to release records that had been classified on the Kennedy assassination.
Doug Horn wrote five volumes on that, Same kind of big productions like these are, and they are extremely valuable books called Inside the Assassinations Records Review Board, Douglas Horn.
Okay, so in this story, what the McCollum Memorandum was a memorandum that was written by one of the intelligence officers, and it really outlined Roosevelt's ultimate solution to the problem.
Also, Stalin had a problem.
Stalin realized that if Germany attacked Russia, which they did do in 1939, or I guess it was 19... maybe 19... in that period of time, before we got into the war, That at the same time, if Japan attacked Russia, Russia would have a two-front war, fighting Japan, who was already in China, on the east, and fighting Hitler on the west.
That was a war Stalin probably could not win.
Stalin had just purged all of his generals.
He was a vicious... Communism kills millions of people.
So when he took over in the 1930s, Stalin purged the military.
The military didn't have great command.
Now, Roosevelt had dual problems.
How to get America into the war.
How to prevent Japan from attacking Stalin, because they knew that there was going to be a war between Stalin and Germany eventually.
And Roosevelt was very close to Stalin.
Harry Hopkins, who was one of his top advisors, lived in the White House, was a communist sympathizer, went to meet with Stalin several times, and Roosevelt came up with a solution to this problem, which was that McCollum Memorandum advised it was, we had to bait Japan into attacking us.
And Roosevelt moved our fleet from San Diego to Pearl Harbor.
He put the Pacific fleet in Pearl Harbor, which was out vulnerable into the Pacific, where it would be hard to defend.
And Roosevelt at the same time cut off the oil to Japan at the time when Japan was negotiating with us trying to extend the oil.
And once we cut off the oil to Japan, Japan went to war against the United States, but did it secretly.
Now Roosevelt knew that Japan was planning to attack Pearl Harbor.
We tracked the fleet, the Japanese fleet coming across the Pacific.
And the story is that Roosevelt lied to the American people that this was a surprise attack.
We knew the Japanese were going to attack Pearl Harbor.
We've been intercepting their messages.
And Douglas Horn does a magnificent job of tracking the documents, the details, the events, the people, builds the story.
It's almost like, I think it's good enough for a screenplay.
And the book reads much like a novel.
But it's a fascinating story.
Now, what's interesting to me and has interested me about all of this is that this whole idea of deception, of creating a reality politically, that is not the case.
It's a lie.
Pearl Harbor was not a surprise attack.
We induced it.
Because once Japan attacked us, it was not going to attack.
We could then support Russia openly.
Japan wasn't going to attack Russia too.
FDR knew from intercepted communications that Hitler had pledged that if the United States and Japan went to war, he would declare war on the United States.
Which was critical, because just to get Japan to attack us, if Hitler stayed out of attacking us, going to war with us, would not accomplish Roosevelt's goal.
He wanted to get us into the war so we could defeat Hitler.
And Hitler was killing Jews.
It was a vicious, vicious regime.
I'm sure people know the atrocities of Hitler's army.
The Luftwaffe was vicious as well, but the SS running death camps, exterminating people, the genocide, the genocidally killing Jews.
And when they invaded Russia, they killed peasants and Jews and millions of people, probably 100 million people died in World War II.
At any rate, this was the solution.
Now, the dilemma of this is, okay, so we get to today.
We're not being told the truth about Ukraine.
We have been told the truth about a lot of things.
Invading Iraq, there were no weapons of mass destruction found.
And the Kennedy assassination.
CIA was most likely involved.
Probably Robert Kennedy is right, and I've written one book on it called Killing the Deep State.
I'm writing another.
We're going to be able to demonstrate that Jack Kennedy was shot from the front and the back.
So the point is, was Roosevelt justified?
Now, Douglas Horn praises Roosevelt and says that this was the only solution to the problem.
If this was a just war and it had to be fought, he had to find a way to get the American people into it.
Once we were attacked by Pearl Harbor, America united behind the war and was resolved that we had to beat Germany, because it was really Germany was the major European power.
And while we went to war against Japan, the United States and Great Britain resolved that we would first fight Hitler in Europe before we would really beat the Japanese in the Pacific.
Which is in fact how the war ended.
But the question is, was it justified to lie to the American people?
The opposing views on this, or McCollum's view, and I think he does a brilliant job of defending his position, that we had to be in this war and Roosevelt was a master politician to get us in a war we needed to fight.
There's another gentleman named Robert Stennett who wrote a book called Day of Deception, instead of Day of Infamy, which Roosevelt called Pearl Harbor, he said Day of Deception.
And Stennett was served on the Iwo Jima, an aircraft carrier in World War II, same aircraft carrier that George H.W.
Bush flew a fighter jet off of.
They knew each other, were good friends, and Stennett's book says that Roosevelt architected this war, lied to the American people, got us into a war we didn't need to fight.
Now, these are going to be debated issues for a long time.
My position on it is I'm, in a sense, torn.
In a sense, Douglas Horn makes a legitimate point.
I don't think we could have really avoided going to war with Hitler.
If Hitler beat Russia and took over Europe, he was coming after Great Britain and then he'd come after us.
And the plans were already laid in place for Hitler to invade the United States or get these super weapons.
If he hadn't killed the Jews, probably the Jewish scientists would have stayed and developed the atomic bomb for Hitler.
The Jews that he incinerated in the gas chambers And in the ovens after they were dead, the crematorium, probably would have fought for Hitler.
The Jews fought for Hitler very valiantly in World War I. They probably would have done it again.
Hitler was suicidal in a sense.
But the point is, I don't think you can justify these creations of narratives, which has now come to be, Where the government lies to us all the time.
Was the pandemic really a bad flu?
Are we going into a recession that was intentionally caused by the Federal Reserve because there's no other way to control inflation or because they want to decimate the middle class?
If you can't trust government to tell the truth, you don't have a government.
I don't know that Roosevelt could have persuaded the American people to get into World War II.
But at some point or other, my inclination is that you can't justify these narratives regardless of how valid the argument is that you have to do a narrative in order to make the result occur that you want.
You know, the people who killed Jack Kennedy, if they were mob and CIA or whatever combination, felt they were justified in doing it.
That's the problem.
Is that lying in government is the path you don't want to take.
Very important issue, one that's material today, one that I've been writing about for 20 years, because I think the powers behind the scene are wanting to go into a global New World Order, and ultimately this woke, destructive Neo-Marxism is only intended to destroy capitalism and weaken the United States.
The end game is the World Economic Forum, the Bill Gates' takeover.
They are depopulationists.
They think there's too many people.
They are destroying the middle class.
They'll kill billions of people.
And then what they will do is have them and their machines rule the world.
Okay, second book I want to go to.
I've been writing about this book.
This book is The Last Honest Man.
It's by James Risen.
It's just out.
It's a 2023 book and it's about Frank Church who was an Idaho senator in the 70s who created the Church Committee.
Okay, the Church Committee, that's the book right there.
James Risen is a very, very well respected, he's a two-time Pulitzer Prize winning journalist and author.
And I followed him for many years, and what he's writing about is that the Church Committee was the first to investigate our intelligence agencies and our FBI becoming politicized, which is again what we have today.
Now, in the 1970s, it was really not known the extent to which The CIA and the FBI were interfering in domestic politics, which is not in their charter.
The FBI is not supposed to be a political organization.
The CIA is an intelligence gathering organization.
It is not supposed to be engaged in going after internal enemies in the United States on political reasons.
Saying that they are traitors or that they're dangerous.
Now, I've written an article on this, which is going to be an American thinker today.
And Frank Church, in this book, James Risen says, Frank Church and his committee took on the CIA, the FBI, and the National Security Agency, the NSA, and succeeded in bringing them under the rule of law for the first time.
Now, what we know was that the Durham report made clear that this Russian collusion investigation, he said, was seriously flawed, but that understates the degree to which the Department of Justice engaged in political justice, politicized justice.
The DOJ created a code-named Operation Crossfire Hurricane as an FBI counterintelligence operation, not as a criminal investigation.
See, the FBI should be a criminal organization.
Bank robbers, federal crimes, which we're not enforcing.
Obviously, the Biden family gets a pass on it.
So the politicized Department of Justice has decided to go after Donald Trump on trumped-up charges.
Operation Crossfire Hurricane.
I was involved in it.
I know this firsthand.
The Mueller-Muller investigation wanted me to take a plea deal because they said I was lying.
They didn't have a contact with Assange.
I didn't.
They refused to take their plea deal.
I could not.
Swear before judge and before God to a lie in order to stay out of prison So they want to put me in front of a jury in Washington DC They'll put me in prison the rest of my life.
Go ahead and do it, but I won't lie And when they couldn't get me to take that plea deal They couldn't say I was lying about not having a tie with Assange.
They couldn't find it or prove it I didn't have one and that shut down that investigation.
So I know this firsthand.
I So today our law enforcement and intelligence operations are so intertwined in these woke neo-Marxist policies that they're taking precedence over the American values.
This article I refer to the FBI, which took a knee to Black Lives Matters, if you remember in 2020.
And the CIA has developed a new pride theme, which is W-E-L-C-O-dash-M-E.
Welcome, but it's WELCO, and then they have acronyms for this W-E-L-C-O, which are largely L-G-B-T plus plus plus endorsements.
That's our C-A-A.
Okay, so Jim Jordan just this week wrote a letter threatening FBI Commissioner Christopher Wray With contempt, Congress, if he didn't turn over documents on two subjects, so the FBI and the Department of Justice formed a joint task force to investigate parents who come to school board meetings to protest woke policies, largely the sexual woke policies with transgenders,
Dealing with their children.
So under the Patriot Act, the FBI, Department of Justice, and I'm sure the CIA consider parents protecting their children to be domestic terrorists.
They're going to do something violent against this woke agenda, which our establishment thinks is correct.
Because they bought into the social justice theory that we're all racists, that we're all, and so therefore transgenderism and all the, we have to accept this diversity.
Otherwise, and I think it's fundamentally schizophrenia.
It's the creation of an artificial reality here about all these different genders.
90 genders, 100 genders, infinite number of genders.
This is nonsense.
And secondly, There's an intelligence analyst within the Richmond, Virginia field office who released a document, an intelligence document, under the counterintelligence powers of the FBI, saying that radically traditional Catholics, and they have a symbol for this, the RTCs, are white supremacists because we prefer the Latin mass.
I was raised Catholic.
And I do prefer the Latin mass.
This is what the Southern Poverty Law Center has determined.
So now we have Donald Trump who is, you know, also looks like he's going to be indicted a third time on January 6 protests.
They're essentially charging Trump with espionage, being a domestic terrorist.
Now with the church committee What they did in the 70s was they investigated what they called COINTELPRO, which stands for CO and then INTEL, I-N-T-E-L-P-R-O.
CONINTELPRO was the acronym for Counterinsurgency Intelligence Program, and it was designed to neutralize individuals deemed to be threats to national security.
Whoever they decided they thought was a threat to national security.
Catholics, parents, protecting their children.
So what the tactics that Frank Church showed the FBI did, they anonymously attacked target groups' political beliefs to induce employees to fire these people.
They anonymously mailed letters to spouses of intelligence targets to destroy their marriages.
They obtained from the IRS the tax returns of a target that attempted to provoke an IRS investigation.
They falsely named as government informants, members of dissenting groups.
And what they did is they went after Martin Luther King.
They considered, counter Intel Probe, considered Martin Luther King as a dangerous,
his 1963 speech on the Lincoln Memorial, I have a dream to consider that demagoguery.
The FBI gathered information about King using every intelligence gathering technique at the Bureau's disposal, including looking into the private activities of Dr. King and advisors to him.
They put a recording device in King's bedroom, his motels, when he traveled, and they recorded sexual extramarital affairs, and they mailed that tape to his wife with a note that's saying they would not make the tape public if King committed suicide.
And then I quote, the Church Committee wrote this, in early 1968, Bureau Headquarters explained to the field that Dr. King might be destroyed because he was seen as a potential messiah to unify and electrify the black nationalist movement.
Indeed, to the FBI, he was a potential threat because he might abandon his supposed obedience to liberal doctrines, non-violence, in short, They were saying that a non-violent man had to be destroyed.
It's an insurance policy that he might suddenly become violent.
Well, they completely abused King's rights.
They saw his Equal Rights Movement as subversive, the same way Merrick Garland today sees Christians and parents protesting their children in school from woke sexuality as subversive.
And the point I make on this is that when we criminalize politics, we invite law enforcement to define crime ideologically, not in terms of actual criminal activity.
Politics.
We weaponize the First Amendment.
We allow intelligence gathering.
To see truth-tellers like Martin Luther King Jr., truth-tellers like Donald Trump, as domestic terrorists.
With the technology we have today allowing surveillance on a level never before seen, so it would be good if we remember to note that President Truman wrote longhand in the White House on May 12, 1945, Truman wrote, we want no Gestapo or secret police The FBI is tending in that direction.
Now, the third book, and I want to comment on it just briefly, these kind of go together, is a book I've been talking to you about on and off for weeks.
It is this book here by Matthias Desmet, called The Psychology of Totalitarianism.
Not a very long book, but it's a very good one.
Desmet is a He is professor of clinical psychology at Ghent University in Belgium.
He's a practicing psychoanalytic psychotherapist.
Now, what he does is he explores the fact that our science today is fraudulent.
Michael Mann made up the data on the hockey stick.
I've talked about this frequently.
Once we have fraudulent science, it means that science can be manipulated for ideological purposes.
And the science corruption is massive.
Because, for instance, if you don't agree that we have climate change from carbon dioxide emitted by hydrocarbon fuels, you won't get promoted and get tenure at a university.
You won't get money to do research from the federal government.
And what he's saying is that essentially that undermining science, he says, for instance, accurate prediction is further complicated by strong psychological factors.
And he demonstrates how that the science is basically producing political results.
Because the scientists believe that the data they collect has to demonstrate and validate their predispositions.
While mechanistic science sought to make human conditions more comfortable, in many respects it also made it more dangerous.
Man could not help but feel threatened by the powers he himself unleashed.
For the most part, these powers ended up in the hands of a few due to industrialization, mechanization, and technologization of the world.
Production capacities, economic power via self-centralized banking system, psychological power via the mass media fell into the hands of an ever-decreasing number of people.
The Enlightenment tradition, science, had promised people autonomy and freedom, but in a way it also brought people greater feelings of dependency and powerlessness than ever before.
The powerlessness caused people to increasingly mistrust in those in power.
Throughout the 19th century, fewer and fewer people felt that political leaders really represented their voice in public space.
As a result, Human beings became disassociated from the social classes that were represented by politicians, and the establishment tradition was co-opted in the service of these oligarchic elites.
This is a very important book because it demonstrates again these themes that come together, which are that Truth has to be embedded at the core of everything we do.
And justifying lying because of a higher political purpose or higher ideological purpose is a trap into totalitarianism.
And we're going that route again.
What we're doing with this neo-Marxism, this woke culture, is marching ourselves directly into servitude.
I've dedicated this channel to being thetruthcentral.com, and it's an extremely important theme to me because I'm dedicated that we must have the truth.
And I want to end this today by encouraging everyone to read, get involved in reading, put down the internet, actually read a book.
Yes, I don't care if you read it on Kindle or whatever, but I mean, I myself like physical books.
But the point is, you've got to take back the Enlightenment mentality that there is truth, there are objective facts, It's not all subjective, whatever you want, whatever gender you want to be, we all have to accept, that's schizophrenia.
There are values, God created this place, God rules this place, and there are rules.
And we are not in control.
This whole movement of lying, manipulating, ideologically creating, you know, these people abandon God, they think they can be God.
Marx hated God, Marx knew God existed, he hated God.
The whole idea of saying that Satan created a, he was a rebel, he got a kingdom for it, which is one of the central themes of today's left, equates this Neo-Marxism with Satanism.
And that's what we're seeing in the woke culture.
In the end God always wins, God will win here too.
And I'm encouraging everyone to join me in Second Chronicles 714.
Let's together, all of us, myself included, repent for following the world out of this poem.
