Welcome to the Jim Baker Family Show.
Today, our special guest is Rabbi Jason Sobel.
Our co-host today is Reverend Mondo de la Vega.
And now, here's your host, Pastor Ricky Baker.
Hello, friends.
You're watching the PTL Television Network.
It's exciting that you have tuned in with us today.
Today, we have Rabbi Jason Sobel with us.
I want you to welcome him as he is a messianic rabbi that is changing the world as we know it.
Rabbi, thank you for being on the broadcast with us.
Good to be here.
Good to see you, sir.
Thanks for having me.
Rabbi, tell us right now from your perspective of what's happening in the world.
We're just going to jump straight into it.
We have now seen hostages freed.
We have now seen a peace deal made.
But what does this all mean from a biblical perspective?
Yeah, I think it was very significant.
They were released on the last day of Sukkot, the Feast of Tabernacles, and a day that we cry out known as the day of crying out for the great salvation.
Save us now, Lord.
I think that is significant.
What's interesting is that on Sukkot, the passage that you actually read from the prophets is the battle of Gog and Magog, the great end time war is connected.
Zechariah 14 and Ezekiel 38 and 39 is read during this time.
And I think all of this is a sneak preview of what is coming because we know that Ezekiel tells us that Israel is going to be dwelling in peace securely in the land.
So I don't think it's any, should not be any surprise that on the day the hostages release, all these nascents such as Turkey and Egypt and all these other nations gather.
I think what we're seeing is an alignment of a great expansion of the Abraham Accords that's going to lead to a great temporary peace in the region.
But that temporary peace is what the book of Ezekiel talks about in the war before the war of Gog and Magog.
So I think this is the setup, the temporary peace.
I think ultimately when Israel is not able to fully implement a Palestinian state because of security issues, eventually you will see these nations turn on Israel and it will lead us once again to an even greater conflict than what we expected.
We're hearing peace and safety, peace and safety.
And you know, I don't know if you guys know this, but open up your Bible.
The Bible says something about that, that in these last days, we will hear peace and safety.
Now, you were using a word and you used it, I believe, two or three times.
You said temporary peace.
Tell us what you mean by just temporary peace.
Do you think the peace still maybe will break away and fall apart?
Yeah, I think there's no way that, well, we know biblically the peace is not going to hold because according to the end times event, we know that there's going to be this northern alliance that comes against Israel and then ultimately all the nations of the world will come against Israel.
So we know prophetically that this peace will not last.
But look, we want it to last as long as it can, as long as it can.
I mean, it's a great thing.
The hostages are released and any peace for Israel with their neighbors is a great thing.
But ultimately, we know that it's going to be impossible to implement.
Even now, we see Hamas saying they're not going to disarm, that they are committed to being part of a future government, even though one of the two of the 20 points of President Trump's peace agenda is they disarm and don't have power.
Well, even after this peace agreement was signed, you can look this up on your news trusted site somewhere that has verified news.
Hamas has already done public execution even after the peace agreement was signed.
So we see peace and safety signed, and it doesn't seem even a few days afterwards that Hamas is going to hold their end of the deal even remotely close.
But did we expect anything else from something like Hamas rabbi?
No, what's interesting is that we know biblically names are very significant.
In fact, the Hebrew word for name is Shem, and it's connected to the Hebrew word for soul, which is Neshama.
So at the center of the Hebrew word for soul is the word name in Hebrew.
But the point is, the name reveals the essence of something.
Yes.
Hamas in the Bible literally means violence.
Wow.
So their name is violence.
It's in their DNA.
It's in their name, right?
They're not going to leopard change his spots.
No, it's going to be who it is.
And I think prophetically it's significant because Jesus says, as it was in the days of Noah, so will it be in the days before the coming of the Son of Man.
And why did God bring the flood?
In Genesis chapter 6, it says God saw there was Hamas on the earth.
The word it uses for why he brought the flood was Hamas.
There was violence on the earth.
And so God brought the flood.
So I think it's prophetically significant.
It's the days of Noah.
There's this organization called Hamas doing the same sort of violence of why God brought the flood in the very beginning.
So again, all these things are prophetically playing out just as scripture said.
That's right.
As Christians, when we look at nations like Turkey, Egypt, Syria, how do we pray against nations like that?
That, can we be honest, they don't like Israel?
Where do we go from here?
How do we pray this situation through?
Yeah, obviously we have to pray that there would be spiritual awakenings in those nations.
We know that whether the leaders have a turning, we know that even in nations like Iran and even among the Muslim world, there is a spirit of God moving.
Muslims are having dreams.
People are coming to faith.
There's revivals in Iran that are not being spoken of.
So God is moving behind the scenes.
So one, we got to pray that people would encounter him, Muslims would encounter him.
We still pray that God turns the hearts of leaders.
I think we got to, of course, pray for the protection of Israel, wisdom for Israel and the leadership, salvation of Israel and the Jewish people.
My great concern is the fact that the church seems to be turning against Israel.
Very anti-Semitic, right?
There's a spirit of anti-Semitism.
I think we see there's decreasing support among younger Christians in the evangelical church.
Replacing theology.
The churches replace Israel.
I think this is part, a part of the great deception Jesus talked about in the end of days.
And so I think getting rooted in the word, understanding how the old and the new connect.
And that's one of the reasons why we wrote Transformed by the Messiah, because if you don't understand Jesus in his Jewish historical context, if you don't understand the connections between the old and the new, it's going to be easy to be deceived by a revisionist interpretation of the New Testament.
What would you say to them who have fallen into the trap or believing that we have replaced Israel?
No, I think that's a great question.
And I think there's two parts to it.
I think the first part is to understand that in Genesis 15, God makes a covenant with Israel and he puts Abraham to sleep and only God passes through the parts of the sacrifice.
And the word for covenant literally means to cut because animals were cut in half and people walked between them as part of the covenantal ceremony.
Both parties would walk through.
The fact that only God walked through meant that God alone was taking upon himself the commitment to keep the covenant.
So whether Abraham did right or his descendants did not write, he was passive, he was asleep, God would ultimately keep his promises.
Now, the practical reasons why that's so important for believers is the reason why Paul writes Romans 9, 10, and 11.
And we do talk about that in the book, Transformed by the Messiah, because think about it for a moment.
When Jesus becomes incarnate, he becomes incarnate from the tribe of Judah as a Jew, right?
If God was done with the Jewish people, he wouldn't have come as a Jew.
The fact that Jesus took on Jewish flesh and blood and that our Savior is the king of the Jews, Jesus was inextricably binding his fate and destiny to the fate and the destiny of the Jewish people.
You can't say you love the king of the Jews and hate his family, right?
Transformed by Cardio Miracle 00:03:47
You can't say, Jason, I love you, but I don't like your children.
We're not going to have a very good relationship.
I don't know.
I love you.
But your children, I could take them or leave them.
That wouldn't be a very long-lasting relationship, would it?
No, you can't do that.
So if in Jesus, it's not that Jesus was Jewish.
He's still Jewish.
He's still a line of the tribe of Judah, right?
He's still the son of David.
So I think that's one aspect.
But the reality is if God doesn't keep his promises to Israel, he won't keep his promises to you.
If God can just say, Israel, you messed up, I'm done with you, then how can you, as a Christian, when you mess up, have any assurance that God is going to be faithful to you as well?
And I think that's part of the significance of understanding God is a promise keeper.
Amen.
God is a promise keeper.
Friends, we're going to be talking about transformed by the Messiah.
You are not going to want to miss this.
Watch this as we watch a video from our sponsor for today's show.
We get back with Rabbi Jason Sobel.
If you have a heart, you need nitric oxide.
Even the University of Florida called nitric oxide the spark of life in the cell.
This miracle molecule is essential for cardiovascular health, improving blood flow, lowering blood pressure, and boosting your energy.
So what it does is balancing the neurotransmitters.
It's increasing blood flow throughout the body.
It's protecting you from the number one killer of everybody, which is cardiovascular disease.
With Cardio Miracle, you're unlocking the potential for extraordinary health and vitality.
Again, we have to feed our brains.
And so this not only feeds the brain with the appropriate ingredients and nutrition, but also the blood flow.
You know, for instance, you out there, you know, when you stand up and you get dizzy and you feel like you want to fall, especially the older population, we have hip fractures and things.
It's because we're not getting enough of the hydration that we need.
So the water, but also the blood flow dynamics shift over time.
And so the nitric oxide helps to even that out because you're getting the nutrition you need.
And again, the nitric oxide and getting that blood flow, the pressure head of blood to your brain.
Take it before your workout, take it after your workout, receive the benefits.
It's amazing.
Cardio Miracle is a winner and it's worth a try.

Transformed by the Messiah.
Rabbi Jason Sobel, why did you write this book?
And tell us, what does the title mean?
Yeah, one of the reasons why we wrote the book is that, you know, we really believe that Yeshua Jesus came to bring salvation, but he comes to bring transformation as well.
He wants to conform us to his image and likliness.
And we really believe now more than ever we need to experience the power, the transformative power of God in our life.
And we believe that one way we do that is by connecting the old and the new.
That when we look at the life of Jesus through its historical, biblical, Jewish lens, we see how the old and new connect.
We see the Bible in high definition.
And as we look at his life, we understand that his life provides not only our salvation, but it provides the pattern of change and transformation for our life as well, which should give us hope.
Significance of Bethlehem 00:15:39
Everybody can be transformed by the Messiah.
Is that right?
Absolutely.
That transformation is for every single one of us.
God loves us enough to redeem us, but he loves us enough not to leave us the same.
He calls us into the fullness of the promise and potential that he placed within us.
One of my favorite chapters is chapter three: the significance of Bethlehem.
And I was praying this this morning, and I'm going to go back and read chapter three again because I was asking God, how can I trust in your plan?
How can I understand your purpose?
And how do I expect your provision not to stop?
Tell me a little bit about why is Bethlehem so special?
What was so special that he picked that place, that God picked that place to bring the king of kings?
And then how do we trust God's plan?
Yeah, of course.
I think that we know that it's significant because the prophecy says, you, Bethlehem Ephrafah, too small to be among the clans of Judah, one will come forth from you to be a ruler for me in Israel.
But that still begs the question: why does God prophesy that city?
Well, that's the place where Ruth and Boaz was from.
That's the city where King David is from.
And what's really significant is the name Bethlehem.
It means house of bread.
Jesus is the bread of life.
So he had to be born in the house of bread.
And bread symbolizes God's provision and sustenance for our life.
But there's something I think hidden there that's even more beautiful, which is that Hebrew is alphanumeric.
And that means that in Hebrew, you write numbers with letters.
There's no Roman numerals in the Bible.
So if you want to say number one or open the chapter one of your Bible, you say open to chapter Aleph.
Aleph is the first letter of the Hebrew Bible.
It has a numerical value of one.
So every word has a numerical value.
The numerical value of Bethlehem is 490.
Why is that significant?
That's the numerical value of the Hebrew phrase to be perfect or complete in Hebrew.
It's the numerical value of nativity in Hebrew.
And it's connected to forgiveness because when Jesus, when Peter comes to Jesus, how many times do I have to forgive?
490.
70 times 7, 490.
So think about the connection.
Jesus is born in the house of bread, 490, to bring about completion, 490, through his sacrifice.
And that is complete forgiveness for our sins, 490.
And think about the connection he makes between bread and forgiveness in the Lord's Prayer.
Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us of our trespasses or transgresses.
He forgives us.
So he connects bread and forgiveness.
At the Last Supper, He breaks the bread.
This is my body broken for you.
So think about it.
Just like man can't live without bread physically, we can't live without bread spiritually.
That's right.
Withholding bread is like telling a starving person spiritually to go and die.
So the fact that he's born in the house of bread, the fact that it's connected to 490, which is forgiveness, means that there is complete and total forgiveness offered to us through his death as the Passover Lamb.
Friends, you have to go get this book, Transformed by the Messiah.
You can go on Amazon right now.
You can type it in the search bar, Rabbi Jason Sobel, or you can write in transformed by the Messiah.
Whenever we have access, like you said, to that forgiveness into that resurrecting power, why do you think we're acting like we don't have access to it?
You know, I think part of the reason is, is that there's things that we know in our head, but hasn't been realized in our heart.
Right?
There's truths that have to be applied to our lives.
And I think too many believers have settled for a form of godliness that lacks power.
Wow.
I think the foundation of discipleship, the foundation of understanding the power of God is identity is destiny.
We need to know who we are in him.
We need to know the promises of God for our lives.
And only when we understand these things can we really begin to move in that he said greater things than these that we can do.
Do we really believe that?
Do we really believe that God can use us?
I'll tell you a story.
You know, we talk about in the chapter, talk about in the chapter on baptism, how there was a voice out of heaven at his baptism with the father saying, this is my beloved son in whom I'm well pleased.
Why is that voice significant?
Because Jesus was going to go through a lot of rejection.
He was going to go through a lot of stuff.
And he needed that voice to declare who he was, God's promise, his acceptance, his affirmation over his life.
And he needed other people to hear it as well who had ears to hear.
Now, I'll tell you, one day I was spending time with God, and the Lord said to me, Jason, you are my favorite one.
I'm like, thank you, Lord.
He said, when you go out there, I want you to tell people you're my favorite one.
I said, I can't do that.
People are going to think I'm crazy.
He said, Jason, you say a lot of things that get people upset.
Add it to the list.
Add it to the list.
He said, the reason why you don't want to say it is not because you're scared about what people might say.
It's because you don't really believe that I could love you enough that you could be my number one.
He said, who do you love more, your older son or your younger son?
I said, I love them both with all my heart.
He said, Jason, I'm the infinite father.
I can have an infinite number of number one sons and daughters.
They are all my favorite.
That's a good word.
I'm his favorite.
You're his favorite.
You're his number one, right?
I'm going to remind Mondo of that every day.
I hope you know that.
But listen, the problem is we don't really believe that God loves us that much.
We believe the lies that have been spoken about us or the lies that we speak over ourselves.
And we don't believe God could use us in that way, that he really has that plan and purpose for our life like he did for Jesus.
But just like he called Jesus, just like Jesus was baptized in the Jordan and the Holy Spirit came upon him, and he did not do one miracle until after the Holy Spirit came upon him because he didn't do miracles out of his divinity, although he was God.
He did it anointed by the Holy Spirit, the same Holy Spirit that has been put in us and anointed us.
And that, as we talk about it in the book, is the only reason why when Jesus says we can do greater things than him, it's possible because he did it by the power of the Holy Spirit, the same Holy Spirit that was poured out on Pentecost.
So therefore, if we believe that, then we can do the things that he did.
That's incredible.
You know, you said that he needed to hear that voice because there would have been a lot of rejection.
There'd have been a lot of things throughout the ministry.
We obviously can take this moment to the cross now.
Jesus has just been beaten.
He is now hanging on a cross.
Can you tell us why it was significant that our Messiah would die on a cross?
And why was it significant that he was raised on the third day and not the fourth and fifth and sixth day?
Yeah, absolutely.
I mean, this is one of those aha moments that I had.
We talk about seeing the Bible in high definition and learning to connect the old and the new, kind of having that road to Emmaus experience where Jesus showed how everything in the Old Testament was fulfilled in him.
And those disciples on the road said their hearts burned within them.
I believe this is one of those truths that does that for us.
So think about it for a moment.
Why did Jesus have to die on a cross?
Well, how did sin enter the world?
The first man and woman took from the tree.
So God had to put Jesus, who Paul calls the last Adam, back on the tree for you and me.
We took from the tree.
God put Yeshua back on the tree to replace what we could not make right, what we got wrong.
His hands were pierced.
Why?
Because our hands took from the tree.
His side was pierced.
Why?
Because Eve, the one taken from the side, led him into temptation.
So he's making atonement not only for Adam, but also for Eve.
And then his feet are pierced.
Why?
Because what's the first messianic prophecy?
It says the seed of the woman would crush the head of the serpent.
And Satan's mocking the plans of God.
He's like, he's the original OG.
He's the original gangster.
He's like, you think you're going to, you think you're going to defeat me?
I'm going to nail your feet to the tree and let's see how you're going to beat me.
Wow.
He thought he was foiling the plans of God, but he was actually fulfilling them without even meaning it.
So a lot of times, just like Jesus, the things that people do to harm us is actually the thing God is going to use to help us.
Romans 8:28.
Wow.
Wow.
Romans 8:28.
He'll work it out for our good.
For those who love him or call according to God.
He's working it out for good.
So his feet are pierced and he has a crown of thorns on his head.
Why?
Because what's the sign of the curse of creation?
The ground will produce thorns and thistles.
He's literally taking the curse of creation on his head to break that curse and restore that blessing.
Wow.
Listen, Rabbi, this is fascinating.
Listen, if this doesn't make you fall in love with Jesus, I don't know what does.
Because I want to tell you something: the meaning behind every symbolic moment from Genesis all the way up to the crucifixion.
The beautiful thing about this book is that it's a journey to understanding the Messiah's birth.
That's part one.
Part two, the Messiah's life, getting to know him.
And then part three, and you touched on it, the Messiah's death.
Listen, you got to get the book today.
Amazon.com.
You got to go and get several copies.
I always encourage you to get several copies because it's beautiful to get around friends and family, maybe even those people that don't know about the true story and start a Bible study and get together, read the book, grab the Bible.
There's a lot of scripture here that you put us, but I love at the end, on almost every chapter, you put God's intentional story for your life.
How does that relate to our life?
At least the last part that you talked about, the crucifixion.
Yeah, absolutely.
So think about it for a moment.
When Jesus gives his life on the cross to reverse the curse, there's actually four aspects of the curse that he comes to reverse.
When we fell in the garden, we fell spiritually, we fell emotionally, we fell physically, and we fell relationally.
We were disconnected on a spiritual, on an emotional, on a relational, and on a physical level.
And when Yeshua Jesus dies on that cross, he comes to reverse all four aspects of the fall.
So now there is spiritual healing and wholeness.
There is emotional inner healing and wholeness.
There is relational healing and wholeness.
And there is physical healing and wholeness.
The curse is broken.
Wow.
And he has begun to restore the blessing for our lives, healing and transformation.
There's power in the cross, in his death and resurrection for our life.
And here's something amazing that we get into in the book.
I love taking people to Israel.
Jesus is buried in the garden tomb.
First of all, why a garden tomb?
Well, think about it.
The fall happened in the garden.
Just like the fall happened in the garden, the reversal of the fall has to happen in the garden.
So he's buried in the garden tomb.
But the word for tomb in Hebrew is the word kevir.
But what's crazy about that term in Hebrew is the same word for tomb is the same Hebrew word for womb.
How can a tomb and the womb be the same word in Hebrew?
It seems like complete opposites.
Well, the tomb and the womb are both portals to a different reality.
Wow.
Wow.
But when you think about this for a moment, the tomb signifies, in our mind, the end.
Yes.
It's the place you go to die.
There's nothing, you know, there's nothing left in this life after you've been placed in the tomb.
On a spiritual level or on a practical level, it can mean it's the place where your dreams go to die, where your destiny goes to die.
But here's the good news: the fact that tomb and womb are the same word, the very thing that is meant to kill us is the very thing that God is going to use to birth us.
The very thing that might seem like we're going to die is a thing that's going to cause us to fly.
Wow.
Amen.
Friends, I want you to go get this book.

Rabbi, with just a few seconds left, if there's somebody's watching and they're saying, you know what, Rabbi, I've been downtrodden.
I've felt defeated.
I feel like maybe God has abandoned me during this time period.
What would you say to somebody to give them hope?
Yeah, I just want to encourage you that hope is the belief that your future is going to be better than your past.
Jesus' resurrection and the promise of his return is the blessed hope.
He promises you you don't have to stay stuck.
Things don't have to stay the same.
He died to give you a hope and a future, and that's his promise over your life.
So just turn to him right now and claim that promise and ask God to do for you what he said he would do.
