Today, Pastor Rick Renner discusses his book, The Rapture, the Antichrist, and the Tribulation.
Our co-hosts today are Pastor Ricky Baker and Reverend Mondo de la Vega.
And now, here is your host, Pastor Jim Baker.
And we have on our show today the greatest theologian, I believe, the man who writes great books.
Pastor Rick Renner, are you there?
I am, and I'm so glad to be with you, Brother Jim.
It's such a privilege to be with you and with the other guys.
Thank you for having me.
I've been waiting for this moment.
Would you tell the people where you are right now?
I'm in Moscow.
This is my studio in Moscow, and I've been filming TV programs all day right here.
Wow.
You are an amazing man of God.
And I'm not trying to puff you up.
I'm just trying to tell the people who you are.
And I've read your new book.
I've read it the last two days.
I got a copy of it.
That's right.
The Rapture, the Antichrist, and the Tribulation, an End Times Countdown and What Happens Next by Pastor Rick Renner.
Ricky, I don't use the plug-a-book before I introduce the guest too much.
But Rick Renner, you're, I'm kind of getting old a little bit.
I'm only 85, but Rick, you are one of the great theologians of our day.
And this book is the greatest book I have ever read on the rapture, the Antichrist, and the tribulation.
This is Revelation.
Thank you, Brother Jim.
Why did you write this book?
Tell me.
Well, before we get into this, I want to just say you've impacted my life for decades.
When I was a teenager, I was watching you.
And every time I get to be with you on TV, it's just amazing to me that I am with Jim Baker.
I have such respect for you.
And I want to say thank you for loving me and thank you for loving Denise.
And Denise told me to be sure to tell you hello.
But the reason I wrote that book is because so many people seem confused about the mark of the beast and the Antichrist and when all these things are going to happen.
And especially during COVID, a lot of people were saying that the vaccine was the mark of the beast.
What wasn't the mark of the beast?
If somebody didn't want to take the vaccine, more power to them.
But it wasn't the mark of the beast.
And when I began to hear people say that, I thought, you know what?
Maybe it's time for me to address this subject.
I'd never really entered into this arena, but I just felt like it was time.
But Brother Jim, the reason I didn't want to do it for years and years is because when I grew up, the subject of the rapture scared me.
And it seemed like it was such a divisive subject.
Some people believed in it.
Some people didn't believe in it.
And I never really wanted to touch a subject that would be divisive and that would make me lose people that I wanted to reach and I wanted to help.
But I finally understood it's time for me to enter into this arena and talk about the rapture of the church.
And so that is why I decided finally to write this book.
But I really percolated this book for years and years.
And so when I sat down to write it, it came out pretty fast.
I wrote it in about one month.
Wow.
And it was just such a privilege to write it and to put it on paper.
Wow.
You know, I will say, I've always unbelievable.
Yeah, incredible.
Every time you see these books that are obviously very weighty, very theologically heavy, he says, oh, it took me 30 days to write it.
Especially with the subject dad.
I read this book.
The end times.
The tribulation.
And then it was.
I'm telling you, it was a big read in two days.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I love the fact that he has pictures.
He shows and demonstrates the point of view of the rapture, the Antichrist, and of course the tribulation.
Those are the three hardest topics.
And yet, Brother Rick, you've done an outstanding job putting this together.
Don't you think everybody should get a copy of this?

Listen, the subject that the church cannot ignore is the rapture, the Antichrist, and the tribulation.
That's right.
And this is, we're in the beginning of all of this.
Do you believe that, Rick?
I believe we are right at the very slither of time, just before it all begins.
Yes, I do too.
And right now on YouTube and the internet, there's so much noise about this.
A lot of it's good, a lot of it's nonsense.
And there just needs to be clarity on this subject because it is such an important subject.
And in fact, Paul said in 1 Thessalonians 4:18 that it's so important that the words about the rapture should comfort us.
We should comfort one another with these words.
And so rather than be afraid of this topic, we should be comforted by this topic.
And I just felt there needed to be clarity.
And so I did my part.
Many people have done wonderful parts, wonderful, but this is my part.
I can't thank you enough for writing this book.
This is a— Thank you, Brother Jim.
It's now.
We got to understand the revelation.
It's not that hard to understand.
I mean, I know I didn't understand it for years, but I read it and read it and read it and read it.
And the more I read it, the more I understand it.
You know, Brother Jim, even the Apostle Paul said that the rapture was a mystery.
It wasn't revealed until the time of the New Testament.
So sometimes people say, well, if the rapture was really such an important subject, then why don't we read about it in the Old Testament?
It wasn't revealed in the Old Testament.
Paul says in 1 Corinthians 15, 51 and 52, Behold, I show you a mystery.
And the rapture of the church was revealed only during the church age.
But it really is one of the most core New Testament doctrines, and we need to be established in it.
It really gives us hope.
In fact, the Bible calls it the blessed hope.
It's something we should rejoice about.
Just this week, I was laying in my bed, going to sleep at night, thinking about the rapture of the church and what would it be like, and what is it going to be like when suddenly we're caught up in the twinkling of an eye and the Lord subjects this body of mine and yours, subjects it to his unbelievable energy and power, and transforms it unto himself.
I was just laying in bed thinking how glorious that moment is going to be.
And that really is in front of us.
There's going to be a generation that will never taste death.
We're going to escape the jaws of death and we're just going to pass right into the presence of the Lord.
Oh, that's where I want to be so bad.
I'll tell you, I love this book because it's in depth.
It's all you ever wanted to know about Revelation, as far as I'm concerned.
I think it's the most complete book on the end times, the rapture, the Antichrist, the tribulation.
We're in the end times, Rick.
And the end is started, in my estimation.
And the evil Is abounding in the world like never before.
Oh, yeah.
The assassination of Charlie Kirk.
Do you have news about it where you live?
It is being reported all over the world.
And I even had the major news outlet in Russia contact me to make a public statement about the death of Charlie Kirk.
Charlie Kirk had such an impact on the world.
And darkness thought they could silence his voice.
But in fact, look at what's happened.
The church has rebounded.
It has really brought people together.
And I just pray that it's not temporary.
I pray this is really something God is doing right here at the end of the age to revive the church before Jesus comes for the church.
Millions, millions are honoring Charlie Kirk and his death.
That's right.
And it's beyond anything I've ever seen.
It's a turning point not only for America, not only for the world, but it's a turning point for the church, leaders, congregants of the church.
This is a statement of when you look at really in the depths of Charlie Kirk's life, he preached nothing but the gospel.
Charlie Kirk is a minister of the gospel, and he has been assassinated.
And the Lord told me that they were going to kill preachers in the pulpit.
Well, Charlie Kirk was in his pulpit.
He has impacted millions.
I mean, the crowds that are coming to honor him, nobody even believes it.
Nobody understands it, Harley.
But it's something that this young man was winning thousands to Christ.
He was changing the lives on the campuses of America.
And we are living in the days in this book, the rapture, the Antichrist, and the tribulation.
This book is beginning to happen now.
And Charlie Kirk's assassination is part of the demons.
It's the demon of hell that's caused this to happen.
The spirit of the Antichrist.
Anything that is against Christ, the spirit arises for that moment.
But this is a wake-up call to every church.
This is a wake-up call, turning point for all of us to understand.
And I love what you said, Pastor Rick.
And I think Ricky even said it this morning on his Facebook Live.
I hope that this moment doesn't just, you know, hangs around for just a moment.
This ought to be a life-changing moment for all of us, a moment to reflect.
Do we really believe what we believe and what we say we believe in?
Because it's going to be challenged in the public square.
It's going to be challenged in every situation.
They are not looking for negotiation.
It's either kill Christians that stand to believe that Jesus is the only way, the only truth.
And I want to tell you something.
Culture today has proved once again that they're willing to kill Christians for believing and threatening their way of life, their way of thinking.
Geopolitically, it's shaking right now, but I believe that this assassination that took place is a turning point for the world.
That's right.
The Bible tells us that Samson killed a lot of people in life, but in his death, he killed more than anyone ever in his life.
And Charlie Kirk dealt with a lot of enemies during his life, but look what's happening in his death.
What the devil did is backfiring.
It is backfiring.
The devil has no winning strategies.
He thought he was going to really knock out a major voice.
But in fact, like Erica Kirk said, it unleashed something in the nation and in the earth.
And I'm believing for the army of the body of Christ to stand up and to make its voice known.
This really is our time, especially as we've come to the very end of the age.
We are living in the end of the age.
That's right.
And what a privilege that God chose us.
He elected us to live at this particular moment.
Prophets prophesied about it.
They wrote about it, but we get to walk it out.
And it's just such a privilege.
And the truth is, the devil has no winning strategies.
And even though evil seems to be abounding on every side and it's getting darker, for those who walk with the Lord, we're getting brighter and the anointing of God and the power of God is operating through us.
And you know, Brother Jim, when I was young and when you were young, we sang a song, Rescue the Perishing, Care for the Dying.
Jesus is merciful.
Jesus will save.
And this is our time to rescue the perishing, to care for the dying.
And there's a lot of rescuing to do.
There's a lot of people that are messed up and they need us.
They need us.
And this is our moment.
Amen.
Can I say this, Ricky?
God spoke to me that I have come to the kingdom for such a time as this.
Now.
Yes.
Everybody tells you, oh, you're an old man.
I won't say what they say, but I believe that when I was 19 years old, that one of the great prophets of that day, Phil Herverson, told me that I would help usher in the coming of the Lord.
And I believe it's my duty to warn you.
He showed to me years ago that preachers would be killed in the pulpits.
He was killed in his pulpit.
He was, I've never seen millions come to his meetings and all over the world.
What's going on, Pastor Renner?
This is the beginning of the end times.
And when they kill a good man that like Charlie Kirk, that they're playing his sermons on TV.
I wish we could put a whole lot of them on our network, Ricky, because he preached truth.
And he was murdered.
And it's time for all of us to preach truth.
Our neighbors, our sons, our daughters, our brothers, our sisters, we all know somebody who's been caught up in this woke environment.
It is so destructive.
50 Years of Priming 00:02:06
It is the spirit of the age.
And you know, Brother Jim and Ricky and Mondo, the Bible tells us in 2 Thessalonians chapter 2 that there is going to be a falling away that's going to happen at the end of the age.
And in Greek, it is the word apostasia.
You hear a word apostasy.
It's a compound of two words.
It's the word apo, which means away, and the word histame, which means to stand.
But when you put the two words together, it describes a stepping away from the faith.
And it was the word used in the literature of the first century to describe not just apostasy, but rebellion, subversion, revolt.
And Paul was a linguist.
And when he used that word, he knew exactly what it meant.
And he was saying at the very end of the age, there is going to be a worldwide modification that's going to take place in society.
And we've been watching it for the last 50 years.
Where they're going to walk away from what they once believed.
walk away from the traditional values they once held to be true, and they're going to go a new direction.
And in the process, they're going to revolt against God.
It's going to be a mass mutiny against God.
And it's going to be a very slow process to modify the world and to modify the society so that it becomes ready to receive the Antichrist.
The world had to be primed and prepared for this moment.
The Antichrist couldn't just make his appearance.
The stage had to be set.
Everything had to be made right.
And that's what's been going on for 50 years.
And now one of these days when the church is evacuated, the curtain's going to be pulled apart and the Antichrist is going to be standing center stage and the spotlight is going to be on him.
And we are in the closing days of that era when the world is being primed and prepared for it.

Because pastors are not teaching about this.
They're afraid to teach on it.
They're afraid that they're going to offend somebody or lose somebody, or maybe they're afraid that they're not really equipped for this subject, but they can do it.
It is so understandable.
And this book will help your pastor.
So get one for your pastor as well.

You know, there's 11 chapters in this book, Mona.
You could easily take a chapter and divide it over two weeks and make a Wednesday night Bible study out of this for your church, for your home group, whatever it is.
But you need multiple copies.
Get one for yourself and one for all those in your small group and go through this book line by line.
Go through it chapter by chapter and it'll bless your life.
I mean, I have talked to thousands of people.
They say, I don't get Revelation.
It's deep.
I don't understand it.
You know, I've read Revelations probably 100 times or more.
And the more you read it, the more you understand it.
But this book is going to help you.
Pastor Rick Renner is a great theologian, but not just a theologian.
He is a man of God who interprets the word of God for you.
And this is what you need in the end times.
This is every home ought to get this book.
Yes.
And Rick Renner has taken, I don't know, it would take me several years to write this or try to even put it together.
You know, I write every day.
I am a writer.
And so it took me about 30 days to write the book, but I percolated it for a long time.
But, you know, one question that people ask is if the rapture is so important, why isn't the word rapture in the Bible?
The Rapture: Snatched to the Air 00:05:09
And I'd like to answer that question because that's a very legitimate question.
The word rapture is actually a Latin word, and we read an English Bible.
But the text originally was Greek.
Well, when Jerome, who was the first one to translate the Holy Scriptures into Latin, when he began to translate the Old and the New Testament into Latin, it was a version called the Latin Vulgate.
It was the very first translation in Latin.
And when he came to 1 Thessalonians 4, verse 17, there he saw the Greek word harpadzo, which is translated in the King James Version that we will be caught up.
But the word harpazo, he translated as the word rapture in Latin.
Well, his translation ruled for a thousand years.
Well, when you have a translation of the Bible that rules for a thousand years, the words that you chose, they find their way into your vocabulary and into your theology.
So though the English, the Greek word is harpazo, he translated it as rapture, and that's the way the word rapture found its way into our vernacular.
But whether you say harpazzo in Greek or rapture in Latin or caught away in English, all three of them are from the same identical Greek word, which really does describe a supernatural abduction.
It really means an adoption.
It means to snatch, to seize.
And it always describes a sudden, very forcible seizing.
I'll give you an example.
The Bible says the kingdom of God is advancing and now the king, now violent men take it by force.
That's the same word harpazo.
It describes a taking by force, a snatching, and it describes a moment in the future.
It's really going to happen soon, when Jesus is going to make a move into the lower atmosphere.
He's not going to touch the earth at that moment, but he's going to come into the air, the atmosphere above the earth.
There's going to be the sound of a trumpet.
There's going to be the voice of the archangel.
And suddenly the dead in Christ will rise first.
And then Paul says, those of us which are alive and remain, we will harpazzo, or the word rapture, will be caught up at that moment to meet the Lord in the air.
And Brother Jim and Ricky and Londo, that word harpazzo, which is translated rapture or caught up, also was a word of rescue.
It was a word of rescue.
It meant to take someone out just in the nick of time.
And that really implies that this event is going to happen in a dark moment.
In fact, we may even wonder, could it get any darker?
What in the world is going on?
Lord, what are we going to do?
And suddenly the Lord's going to make his move and he's going to snatch us.
He's going to abduct us from the earth, transport us into the air, where we will meet those that have already been raised from the dead, and we will meet him.
And I want to tell you something else wonderful.
It says that we will be raised.
That word raised is a Greek word that doesn't just mean to be raised, but it was the word used to describe the arising of royalty.
And when such royalty showed up, they rolled out the red carpet.
And it means that when the dead are raised and the church is raptured, it's going to be a moment when we're going to step into the VIP identities that we really are.
Jesus is going to roll out the red carpet to receive us.
It's going to be a grand arrival, a grand reception in the air.
And that's just not too far in front of us.
And Brother Jim, think about this.
You know, you and I are a little older than the other guys.
And when you get a little older, gravity starts affecting your body.
Things that used to stand begin to fall.
Wrinkles begin to show up, whether you like it or not.
Even if you do plastic surgery, eventually those wrinkles are going to come back.
But in the resurrection and in the rapture, the Bible says we will be raised incorruptible.
And that word incorruptible means no longer suffering the effects of wear, tear, and age, which means in the resurrection and in the rapture, we're going to get the ideal cosmetic surgery.
Everything that's messed up is going to be fixed.
I mean, it's just going to be an amazing moment.
Oh, is that amazing?
And that's what every church person, everyone who loves Jesus needs to understand.
We will be changed in the twinkling of an eye.

He loves us.
He loves us.
And he's prepared a place for us.
And, oh man, it's 30 seconds left, Ricky.
