God's Voice in Sowing 00:15:38
Welcome to the Jim Baker Family Show.
Our special guest today is Bishop Ron Webb.
Our co-hosts today are Pastor Ricky Baker and Mondo de la Vega.
And now, here is your host, Pastor Jim Baker.
Bishop, you have a story.
It's from the Bible.
Yes.
would you share that with me right now you know in genesis 26 you're on the board of direct ivory to enter and you pastor one of the greatest churches in the world Thank you.
And you're preaching all over the world every day.
Well, this man is a man of God, and I honor him.
Amen.
And he has written a series of books, ministry behind the scenes.
Yes, leadership from behind the scenes.
All you preachers ought to get it.
Yes.
I'm telling you, he's been through it all, and God's given him great wisdom.
And not afraid to share it.
Who are you going to talk about?
Well, Genesis 26 is an interesting story about the life of Isaac, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob.
Isaac is in a difficult place.
He's in a hard place.
And the Bible says that he's packed his bags.
He's ready to move.
No, boy, I've seen it.
He's ready to give up.
He's ready to throw the towel.
How many ever been there?
You feel like giving up?
Yes.
Don't give up.
You're on the brink of a miracle.
That's a great song.
Girls, learn that song for me.
And by the way, that's a good preaching text for this subject matter.
He's got the towel in his hand and he's ready to throw the towel in.
Oh, God.
He's in a dark place.
They're in a time of famine.
And famine is usually caused by war or weather.
Famine's in this world and it's coming at a drastic time.
Yes, I believe that.
And not just a natural famine, but Amos prophesied a famine of the preaching of the word of God.
Spiritual famine.
That's right.
He says there's going to be a spiritual famine.
And not preaching.
We hear preaching all the time, but the words of the Lord.
And this is why I love this program because we're hearing not just preaching, but we're hearing the word of the Lord.
That's what we need is the word of the Lord.
So in a difficult time in his life, he's ready to walk away, call it quits, turn off the lights, shut the door, close the blind.
And then he gets a word from God.
One word from God changes everything.
David says, a word in season.
A word in due season.
Oh, how sweet it is.
You know, was it Jackie Gleason said, oh, how sweet it is.
Yeah.
Remember that?
Well, let me tell you, he's about to quit.
And I believe there are people watching right now that's on the brink of quitting and giving up.
And matter of fact, you've got the towel in your hand and you're ready to throw it in, but don't throw it in.
No.
Because there's a word from the Lord that's coming.
He says, abide in Jerar.
The word abide there means stay there.
As Jesus says, abide in the vine.
You know, that means stay there, dwell there.
And he says, and so in the land of famine.
The land of famine.
He's raising an offering.
He's asking him to give in a time of famine.
Now, listen, famine is a difficult time.
He's asking him to give.
And do you know what?
A lot of people don't give to God anymore because they're afraid of they see difficulty around.
So they're putting money away.
But you know, if the end times hit hard, money's not going to be worth anything.
Right.
You won't have it.
Only what you've done for Christ.
Knowing Jesus, obeying him, is what's going to carry you through.
That's the key right there.
He gets a word from the Lord, and the word from the Lord is sow in the time of salmon.
Famine is a hard place.
I believe the Lord is saying, you say, well, I'm going through a difficult time now.
I really don't have anything extra.
I mean, that can be a hard place.
But because he heard the word of the Lord, he sowed in that land.
Why?
Because of the oath of his father.
But they had nothing to eat.
And he's saying, sow seeds to me, and God's going to bless.
And at the end of this, in verse around 12, it says, and the same year he reaped a harvest.
Because you can never sow seed without a harvest coming.
Praise God.
And I'm telling you, the pain, I just heard this.
The pain of planting will not surpass the joy of the harvest.
Amen.
Oh, boy.
So they that sow in tears shall reap in joy.
Hallelujah.
And the tears is what water the seeds.
Yes.
God uses our tears to water the seeds.
I mean, famine is the worst time to raise an offering.
I mean, when people are hungry, they're trying to get food.
All they're thinking about is eating.
You know what I'm talking about.
I mean, I've been to places where people were hungry.
Monday, you've been with me.
We're passing out food and they're starving.
They're grabbing their food.
Nobody said, oh, Jim Baker, your pertinent wife, giving us food.
Oh, I'm giving the same food to them that I send out to my partners and friends.
Just lifetime food.
That's right.
My God, we gave everything we had away of food everywhere we went.
But I believe.
Manu, you've been with us.
Absolutely.
Absolutely.
Did those people say no?
No.
Every single one of them were receptive.
But this man was hungry.
Yes.
Well, and there are people watching now and people that's in the studio audience now that feel like you're not just in a spiritual famine or a natural famine, you're in a spiritual famine.
That's right.
And it could be a famine in your business.
Maybe you're threatening to close the business.
Maybe, I mean, a family in ministry.
There's so many famines in ministry right now where people are shutting the doors of ministry never to walk back again.
Too many.
Way too many.
And I believe hell is happy and hell is rejoicing because they don't want the word of the Lord to go forth.
But he received a word from the Lord.
Sow in this land.
Yes.
What does that mean?
So in a hard place.
So in a difficult time.
I know it may be raining everywhere else, but it's dry right here.
And God says, listen, you can go to the waters in Egypt.
That's what your father Abraham did.
But God says, no, as you said, I want to test your faith.
And faith without works is dead.
That's right.
Some people say, well, my faith don't work for me.
Maybe because you're not working your faith.
You have to work your faith.
Isaac sowed in that land, that land of famine.
And the Bible says, the same year he received a hundredfold.
And the Lord blessed him.
And the man grew until he was very great.
Praise God.
The greatest miracle comes out of the darkest place.
And people have put money away and they could take a little part of it and help this ministry stay on the air.
And that's what we've always done.
God's work is done by sacrificial giving mainly.
And it's time to give.
And if you have something, you can give a little piece of it to the work here and it'll stay on the air together.
Miracles happen when we just do a little, little as much when God's in it.
Is that right?
Amen.
When there's unity.
When there's you need okay, I want you to call right now and give.
Yeah, that's the greatest scripture I've ever heard about giving.
I'll tell you: if you sow when you're hungry, yeah, I gave a thousand dollars last week.
Did you know that, Rich?
You did, that's right.
God's with us, yes, we're gonna make it, Mondo.
Yes, we are.
You've been with me for 27 years, so help me.
You better not give up the ghost now.
One thing I recognize is two things that you said, Bishop and Dad, is in a time of famine, you better recognize whose voice you're going to be hearing.
Because sometimes the closest people to you are going to shout to you and try to speak to you, curse God and die.
It's a job movement, but yet, in the middle of a famine, we have to recognize God's voice in the time to seed.
That's good preaching.
Listen, the time to sow, people are going to say, Curse it and die.
Just close up.
There's nothing happening.
In this movie, exactly.
I've seen it 27 years.
They told us we will not make it.
And they're going to die in agony if they curse God.
Absolutely.
And I want to tell you something.
All we have is God.
All we have is God.
All we have is our faith, is what we stand on.
And faith is nothing more than just trusting God.
When we understand that we can trust His voice in the middle of a famine, when we can learn how to trust God when there's no provision.
I want to tell you a quick two-second story.
I want you to write this down.
God is always faithful in the time of need.
My wife and I were walking and we were asking God for a miracle financially.
I didn't know where it was going to come from.
I didn't have the resources.
I didn't have anybody to call because a lot of us have egos and we don't like to ask for help.
And today we want to step out out of our ego and ask you for your help.
That's called faith in action.
And I want to tell you something.
My wife and I did Matthew 18 and 19.
We agreed on that prayer.
And within 24 hours, God provided what we needed.
Wow.
I believe that Matthew 18 and 19 is happening right now.
I built my house.
We're standing in agreement that what you need for your household, God is going to provide.
And out of that provision, God is going to supply enough need in your household to supply the need for this storehouse where you receive the word, you get ministered by the word, and you watch every single day, standing in the word that we bring.
I think the season to learn how to hear God's voice is more evident now than any other time.
And Mondo, you were in the ghetto when I met you.
Yes, I was.
I say the ghetto, but we're down in the center at the Dream Center.
He was a ghetto boy, boy, my boy.
That's right.
Yeah, now I'm fine.
And he was in a gang before that.
And he did crazy things in the gangs.
He still needs help, but he's come a long ways.
And he's got a fabulous wife.
In fact, she's the daughter of one of the Lenin sisters, which I love the Lenins forever.
I'm the old-fashioned.
Would you forgive me for that?
But because I am old-fashioned, most people don't even remember the Lenins now because it's been a few years ago.
But God wants to turn your trial into a miracle.
Amen.
I'm telling you, if you're watching this program today, it's because God's brought you to it.
And this ministry is in need.
I'm old.
Well, I'm on 85.
That's not a long time to live.
But God has helped me build Christian television.
I was one of the pioneers for good.
I helped build most of them.
And the devil wants to kill it all.
And there's people that are demon-possessed that are telling all the dirty stuff on preachers they can get.
Well, preachers are human.
I've sinned.
I don't want to talk about my sins, but I have sinned to come short of the glory of God.
You know that.
That's the reason Jesus came.
That's what the gospel is all about.
It's getting saved, finding the redemption of God.
And people slip and make mistakes.
And God wants to forgive you.
God doesn't put his finger at you and say, you're good.
He says, you're my child.
That's right.
Come to me.
I'll forgive you and bury your sins in the deepest sea and I'll never remember them against you.
But greater is he that's in me than he that's in the world.
I trust in God.
I talk to God every day and just give him everything.
But every around me wants, if you're going through that, you're on the brink of a miracle.
Yes.
Turn it to God.
We will be right back after this special message.
The Jim Baker Family Show has been a voice of truth, preparation, and hope for generations.
And it's only possible because of you.
And when you give, whether it's a one-time gift or a monthly partnership, you're helping us spread the gospel, sound the alarm, and prepare people for what's coming.
So I believe that the voice of the prophets is ordained by God for a purpose in the day we're living in.
I believe that God is going to send us and open the windows of heaven and send divine provision.
How is divine provision acquired?
It is done through people like you and people like me standing up and saying, I'm going to give.
God is moving in powerful ways.
It is time for the church to be a bright light in a world that continues to grow darker.
But we need your help.
In the last days, there is going to be an outpouring.
Those who finance the end time harvest will harvest the end time finance.
There is coming a shift so that we can preach the gospel to the whole wide world, but it's not coming to the stingy and it's not coming to those with their hands closed.
It's coming to those who right now, without waiting for anything to happen right now, in obedience to the Holy Spirit, are willing to obey him and sow into ministries like this.
Be bold, be strong, be courageous, rise up and be the person you were created to be in this hour.
So and do what God has called you to do because God puts you here for a purpose.

We can't thank you enough for your prayers, your love, and your faithful support that helps to send this message of hope to a dying world.
And now, back to today's program.
Remember to read you 1 Peter 1, 7.
That the trial of your faith.
Have you ever been tried?
Yes.
If you're a believer, you're going to be tried.
Amen.
And if the church has no problems and it's just having dances and fun and bean suppers and whatever they do at churches now, they're not threatened hell.
The Trial of Faith 00:06:37
And if you're serving God, the devil wants to restore you.
I don't know if I ever told you this, Ricky, but the devil tried to kill me when I was born.
I was born premature.
They didn't even know how to take care of a premature baby.
How old am I?
1940.
And God saved me.
I have a wonderful mother and father.
They're not perfect.
They're human, but they're the best I've ever had.
And they really love me.
My mother and dad really did.
I'm trying to read 1 Peter 1:7.
That the trial of your faith being much more precious than of gold.
Pastor, come on.
That's what you're preaching about.
Wow.
And more precious than of gold that perisheth.
Gold perishes.
And the trial of your faith, how many have your faith tried?
Yes.
How many have gone through trials?
It's more precious than that.
Amen.
It's more precious than gold.
That's what he said.
Because gold will perish.
It will perish.
They'll be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honor and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ.
Amen.
God will bless you as you are faithful to him.
And you don't have to support Christian television.
You don't have to support us.
But if God speaks you, I want you to do it.
Amen.
I'm known as a fundraiser all my life.
I've helped support Christian Joe and help started it.
It wouldn't even be on the air if I hadn't gone on and actually wept.
And I told them we were going under, and that's the first time they only gave a thousand people, gave us $10.
Amen.
But boy, we had revivals, we had miracles, and the 700 started.
And it's still going today.
But greater is he that's in me than he that's in the world.
I want to do it God's way.
People are going through the arm of flesh terribly, church people.
And I'll tell you, everything's going to fail.
But God.
Yeah.
Yeah.
But God.
And only God can take care of us in the last days, in the end time.
Orgiving in our faith are God's economy.
And I think as Christians, we cannot forget by any means necessary the way God moves.
He uses people, Bishop.
Yes.
What is the power of using people?
Why does God use His people?
Why doesn't He use angels?
Well, He uses people because they hear the voice of the Lord.
You alluded to something a few minutes ago: in the time of famine, it is so important that people hear the word of the Lord.
When we hear the word of the Lord, even in times of famine and dark seasons, all we need is one word to bring us out.
We've been dealing with famine, difficult times, hard times.
Well, 2 Kings chapter 3, they were in a famine, going through a wilderness, and the Bible says for seven days they had no water for the people and no water for their beasts.
And these three kings, Jehoam, says, Well, maybe the Lord brought us out here to die, but Jehoshaphat says, Is there a word from the Lord?
That sounds like doubters, doesn't it?
Come on now.
Is there a word from the Lord?
I know we're in a famine.
I know we're going through a dark time.
You're at the point of death, and maybe your business is about to die.
Maybe your ministry is about to die.
But if you get a word from the Lord at the right time, and the word of the Lord was crazy, he says, I want you to dig ditches, dig ditches.
Now, in the valley, why would you want me to dig in a low place?
And why would you wait till the end of a seventh day to tell me to start digging?
Because seven is the number of completion.
When you've exhausted all of your resources, when you've done everything that you can do, you have to trust God.
But that's when God does his best work.
All you know.
And the Bible said the next morning when the sun rose, come on, somebody, that every ditch that they dug was filled with water because they obeyed the word of the Lord.
Amen.
In a time of famine, a hard place.
And so, right now, people say, well, you know, times are different and times are hard.
That's the time to sow in a hard place.
Bishop, if they only have $100 in the bank, they could give a dollar.
Absolutely.
I mean, put it in the mail.
Do it.
We need to, if we have a million people give a dollar, we'll go debt.
But I'll tell you, do what you can.
Yes.
You can't give what you don't have.
Right.
But if you've stored up some little funds, you can give a little bit.
And Christian television, that's how Christian television is always, that's how it began.
How it's going to continue.
I'm a voice from the past, I know, but it's real.
I could tell you maybe when the world's coming to an end and I'm here with people, I can just tell you all the stories of how God brought us through because he's going to still bring us through.
Even if the world falls apart, you want to have God with you.
So I want you to give $100.
And if you're, I mean, I'm on Social Security and I gave $1,000 last week.
I think I told my wife, oh, she'll be upset.
We don't have any money.
She keeps saying, honey, you got to pay this bill.
I haven't had a salary for 40 years.
The government's taken everything.
And they lied about me and they destroyed me.
But that's God's going to bless me.
Maybe God didn't like what I was doing.
Coming Back Stronger 00:03:09
Maybe He did like it.
I don't know.
But millions came.
And God was with us.
Yes.
And God is still with us.
And I may be an old man, but I've been in bed for a year and a half with strokes.
Yes.
But I'm well enough to come out.
My speech is a little stronger.
And if you can understand me, thank God.
If you can't, Ricky will pull me off.
He'll tell me if I'm bad or good.
I believe the spirit of Caleb is resting up on you now.
Caleb said, Give me this mountain.
Yes.
And the spirit of Caleb rests upon you.
God has given me.
I mean, I can hardly get out of bed sometimes.
I'm so my feet, I fall down, I'm weak.
I'm really an old man.
I'm telling you, I am coming back with Ricky.
He's my son.
And this is the ministry that I began with my wife and Mondo.
I got to remember, you were there when we founded it.
You were there.
And Mr. Crawford built this place, and he's still with us.
He's 85.
That's right.
And he's still running.
I don't want to tell you all the story, but he's moving in spite of everything.
What a great example you guys are to all of us.
But you know, Jerry Crawford, he's the man who helped build this place.
He's been beaten down.
He said, people steal everything from him.
He said men lie to him.
They hate him.
You know, because he'd be a builder.
He'd go out and make bids on old property.
He'd take all of the house tourists and rebuild them and all the things.
And God's blessed him over the years because he kept coming back.
Amen.
And his wife and him were going to divorce a few years, a long time ago.
But they came to PTL, Heritage USA, and we had great marriage seminars there.
And he and his wife got back together.
Amen.
I'm going to see if I can get him to get on TV with me one day and tell that story because it's amazing.
I mean, he said, all right, she wouldn't go.
She was, I'm going to divorce you.
I'm through.
And he was a rascal, but he's a good man.
But see, he said, if you go to PTL, it was called that.
It says, into the workshop.
It says, I'll give you the divorce.
And they went to PTL.
They went to the workshop and they fell in love and they're holding hands ever since.
I mean, they're holding hands.
Amen.
And I was at their house all day yesterday, and they just, they're still lovers.
Amen.
They're old as the, I guess.
God Loves You: A Million Dollars 00:03:41
We all get in that way.
He's 85, same as mine.
That's right.
But he's going to help us do what we can, but we really are thin to rope without God.
But I've been there so many times.
Yes.
I just hold on and say, God, pull me up.
And he always did.
Amen.
And he's going to do it today if you stand with him.
You may say, I only have, I only have $100.
Well, you can give a dollar to the ministry.
If a thousand people give a dollar, well, that's $1,000.
That's a lot of money.
Yeah.
Maybe a million people watch him today would give a dollar.
That's be a million dollars.
That'd be pretty good, wouldn't it, Ricky?
A million dollars would help really good now.
Amen.
So if you can give $1,000, that's what God will have you give.
Yes.
I've got to find that book.
It's in your library because I gave him my library of all the miracles that took place when people gave.
I think we know where it is.
It's a miracle.
1-88-988-1588 is our number.
Use that number.
That's right.
Yep.
1-888-988-1588.
Or they can go.
To the website, jimbakershow.com.
They can do it just as easily there.
Or they can write the letter and put the check in the mail.
That's right.
It's there on the screen as well for the P.O. box.
P.O. box 7330, Branson, Missouri.
And let Jesus have control of your life.
Don't give up.
Amen.
And you think it's bad now?
It's going to get worse.
Read the Revelation.
Read the whole book.
I'm not trying to scare you.
I just want to prepare you.
Right.
God will carry you through.
I give it all to Jesus.
Hey, he's forgiven me of all my sins.
Amen.
It's amazing what Jesus does.
Let him have his way.
Let him forgive you of his sins.
I don't care what you've done.
God loves you.
And he'll change your life if you ask him and you live for him.
And stand with this ministry today.
We're on the brink of a miracle and you're part of it.
My God.
God loves you.
I know this.
He really, really does.
Bye-bye.
