Busting Ice with a Sledgehammer
00:03:09
|
|
| Hello and welcome to the Jim Baker Family Show coming to you from the village of Morningside, USA, nestled in the beautiful Ozark Mountains. | |
| Today, our special guest is researcher, teacher, author, and TV podcast host, Derek Gilbert. | |
| Our co-host today is Reverend Mondo de la Vega. | |
| And now, live from Gray Street at Morningside, USA, here's your host, Pastor Ricky Baker. | |
| Brian, welcome to the PTL Television Network, the Jim Baker Family Show. | |
| If you're watching this live, I want to say hello. | |
| Thank you. | |
| I hope where you're living, it is warm. | |
| Because friends, where we're living, it's not warm. | |
| I was out there busting ice for my sheep this morning. | |
| I'll tell you a funny story last night. | |
| Yesterday, I have some sheep, some cattle. | |
| You know, we believe what we preach. | |
| We believe, you know, there'll be hard times. | |
| And so God's, you know, God supplied some animals so that we could have food in case hard times hit and things like that. | |
| And we've been able to supply people in our community with good non-vaccinated non-GMO meat. | |
| You know, good stuff. | |
| I haven't received any. | |
| Because he hasn't paid me. | |
| So everybody else pays you? | |
| Well, yeah, yeah, we do a trade deal. | |
| I did some bartering. | |
| No, no, I did some heavy bartering for this meat. | |
| So, hey, it's a win-win situation, but I was out there with a sledgehammer. | |
| I was busting the ice, you know, because I don't have a heat. | |
| You have electricity, so I have to get their water so they can drink. | |
| Oh, the water for the sheep. | |
| No, but busting the ice for the sheep, not on it. | |
| So I was out here hitting the ice and somebody recommended. | |
| They said, hey, you need to get an axe instead. | |
| You know, I was using a large sledgehammer. | |
| And I thought, okay, yeah, an axe makes sense. | |
| So I took an axe out there the next morning. | |
| It's about four inches of ice. | |
| And I did one really, really hard swing and I swung straight through it. | |
| And I did. | |
| I swung straight through the ice, but also straight through the water trough. | |
| I just, I just, yeah, it was you win some and you lose some. | |
| So I was out there watering, but it was cold out there when I was trying to figure out what am I to do for these poor animals. | |
| It has been so, you know, the extreme weather. | |
| So I'm on the, I've been on the phone the last few hours with family that is experiencing the wildfires now is broken to Sherman Oaks area, Camarillo, and of course, different areas. | |
| This is getting out of control. | |
| It's snowing in Florida, the panhandle. | |
| Where we lived. | |
| That's right. | |
| Where my sister lives, Jennifer, your sister, Jennifer. | |
| I always just say, I take possession over my family. | |
| My dad. | |
| Yeah, I always say my dad, my mom. | |
| Where they live, you know, it's snowing in Florida. | |
| The wildfires are burning in California. | |
| A lot of people want to know, are these prophetic events? | |
| And friends, that's why the PTL Television Network is dedicated to bringing researchers, teachers, people on here so we can say, hey, let's be honest with you, friends, this is a biblical event. | |
| And some people even say this isn't a biblical event. | |
| I'll tell you what's prophetic is suddenlies. | |
| Amen. | |
| Suddenly, a storm appeared when it was not expected. | |
|
Suddenlies and Prophecy
00:15:44
|
|
| I think you got to look at the suddenlies of the events that take place that become historic because maybe the climate is always supposed to be that way. | |
| But when you have a suddenly happen in a timeframe that we're in right now, it has to perk up your ears and helps you understand, go back to the word. | |
| If nothing else, what's prophetic about this event is that it's making people look at Revelation in a different way. | |
| When people start using, when I say people, I'm talking about maybe non-believers or people in the media expressing about this event that they're biblical proportion or apocalyptic events. | |
| That tells you that is driving people to ask the question, what does God have to say about this? | |
| That's right. | |
| Mondo, if you want to open up your Bible, Matthew 24, let's read a portion of this. | |
| I'll give you a second to get there. | |
| Matthew chapter 24. | |
| Mondo likes reading out of Matthew 24. | |
| My dad, obviously, you know, he's a champion of Matthew 24 Revelation. | |
| I really enjoy the way Luke reads with it. | |
| So I'll be in Luke chapter 24. | |
| Younger brothers always have to take the opposite. | |
| I skipped Mark too, Mark 13. | |
| I don't even know why I just skipped straight over and write to Luke. | |
| My son's name is Luke, so I really enjoy it. | |
| And he was a scholar. | |
| He was a scholar. | |
| He was a doctor. | |
| He's a solid excuse. | |
| That's right. | |
| He was a doctor, and I enjoy the way that it's written. | |
| Mondo, let's read Matthew 24. | |
| Let's talk about what are some of the signs going to be because the disciples asked a very important question. | |
| A question that I would have asked if I was there with Jesus, I hope, is: hey, you said you're going to come back. | |
| What's it going to look like when you do come back? | |
| What are the signs we can look for? | |
| I was discussing this with Mateo this morning. | |
| Amen. | |
| For your Bible study. | |
| Yeah, for our Bible study. | |
| And listen, if you have a chance to have a Bible study with your grandkids and your kids and make it fun. | |
| Don't be so rigid. | |
| No, make it fun where they can ask you questions. | |
| But this is the key. | |
| He asked, Are we going to know the time and the hour that Jesus comes back? | |
| And I proved it through scripture to say no, but we will know the signs. | |
| And the times and the seasons and all that. | |
| I said, so we went through Matthew 24, which is what you're reading right now. | |
| That's right. | |
| So you want to start that. | |
| I have Luke 21 open, but start, you know, first mine says in chapter or verse 8, watch out so that you're not deceived. | |
| So I don't know if you can find that and start reading from that. | |
| I'm going to apply to them. | |
| This is verse 4, Matthew 24. | |
| Watch out that no one deceives you. | |
| For many will come in my name, saying, I am the Messiah, the Messiah, and they will deceive many. | |
| Verse 6, you are going to hear of wars and rumors of wars. | |
| For a long time, Ricky, we have been hearing about wars and rumors of wars. | |
| That's right. | |
| But the key that I'm watching right now is that we're watching one war after another war. | |
| That's right. | |
| This is why the fulfillment of scripture is so important. | |
| We've always had wars, but yet when you have war after war after war after war after war, all happening at the same time is what you want to look for. | |
| That's right. | |
| See that you are not alarmed. | |
| That's right. | |
| Don't be surprised because these things must take place, but the end is not yet. | |
| That's right. | |
| So I'm going to pick up in Luke 21, chapter 10. | |
| He just read out of Matthew 24. | |
| I'm going to be reading Luke 21, verses 10. | |
| It says right here, Then he told me, Then he told them, excuse me, nation will rise up against nation and kingdom against kingdom. | |
| There will be violent earthquakes and famines and plagues in various places, and there will be terrifying sights and great signs from the heaven. | |
| But before all of these things, they will lay their hands on you and persecute you. | |
| They will hand you over to synagogues and prisons, and you will be brought before kings and governors because of my name. | |
| This will give you an opportunity to bear witness. | |
| Therefore, make up your minds not to prepare your defense ahead of time, for I will give you such words and wisdom that none of your adversaries will be able to resist or contradict. | |
| You will even be betrayed by parents, brothers, relatives, and friends, and they will kill some of you. | |
| You will be hated by everyone because of my name, but not a hair of your head will be lost. | |
| And by your endurance, gain your lives. | |
| Friends, every generation, I say this, and really follow me here. | |
| Every generation since the dawn of time has heard of wars and rumors of wars. | |
| Most generations have gone through a plague or a pestilence, and probably every generation has felt an earthquake and a natural disaster. | |
| But friends, what we're seeing Jesus say here is when you see the culmination of all of these events at the same time, that is when we know the season is coming upon us. | |
| I love Luke 21 because it says here in verse 29, then he told him the parable, look at the fig tree and all the trees. | |
| As soon as they put out leaves, you see for yourself and recognize that summer is almost near. | |
| In the same way, when you see these things happen, recognize that the kingdom of God is near. | |
| And Margo, that is our responsibility as watchmen on the wall to recognize the season. | |
| That's it. | |
| Recognize the season, friend. | |
| Because as a watchman on the wall sits on the castle, really use your imagery for this, your imagination. | |
| Put some imagery in your mind. | |
| You're sitting on top of a wall, a castle, tall castle. | |
| Well, friends, the man who opens the door for the gate, he may say, I don't see anything out there. | |
| And the man on the watchtower says, no, there's a great army coming towards us. | |
| And the man on the down, the man below opening the doors can say, absolutely not. | |
| Under no condition, I can't see them. | |
| I can't hear them. | |
| So I don't believe it. | |
| But friends, when there's watchmen like Pastor Jim Baker, like Tom Horn was a watchman, when you have a watchman, friends, we need to heed their warning. | |
| They're on a different level. | |
| We know in part, we see in part. | |
| We prophesy in part. | |
| We prophesied in part. | |
| We play a key role together. | |
| I don't understand. | |
| Maybe you can help me. | |
| But when I was part of the world, in the gang world, even if you didn't like the other gang member, we still had to get along. | |
| Well, for the sake of winning. | |
| Absolutely. | |
| But yet when I came to the church, I realized that the church is so split in so many different directions because one person thinks they got it all together. | |
| Another person thinks they're right. | |
| Yet we're part of one body. | |
| We're part of one body. | |
| Do you understand that? | |
| It's time for us to come together and reason together. | |
| Let's study the word. | |
| That's why I love talking to people that have a different perspective of the book of Revelation and even Matthew 24. | |
| Yes. | |
| Why? | |
| Because if he sees in part and we prophesied in part and we do things in parts, but when we bring him together, we see that the king is coming back. | |
| That's right. | |
| You know, I attended a church service. | |
| I think I shared this story with you. | |
| I attended a church service one time as I was traveling. | |
| I wanted to go to a church service. | |
| So I just popped into this church and it was a nice church and the people were kind to me and they were good. | |
| I was just a visitor, you know. | |
| And in the middle of the pastor's sermon, he was preaching a really good sermon, you know, but for some reason he interjected and he said, you know, we understand that we here at this specific denomination have the only perfect theology. | |
| So it's our responsibility to teach the rest of the, you know, and I remember sitting there thinking, brother, what is this guy talking about? | |
| It was kind of hard to pay attention to the rest of the things. | |
| I thought the only perfect theology. | |
| I was like, friends, I'm going to be honest with you. | |
| The only perfect theology will come from Jesus himself one day. | |
| Friends, we interpret the Bible. | |
| We have the Holy Spirit give us the tools and the keys to be able to rightly divide the word of truth. | |
| But friends, none of us are perfect. | |
| None of us have it all right. | |
| That's why this program is important. | |
| I've said it many times. | |
| We're interviewers. | |
| We want to come on and we want to bring you people. | |
| We don't agree with every theological take that comes across this desk. | |
| We know that some people come on here and they're pre-tribulation people. | |
| And some people come on here and they're mid-tribulation people. | |
| And some people come on here and they're post-tribulation people. | |
| We've had people on here who don't believe that there will be a rapture. | |
| We've brought a lot of people to this platform. | |
| And it's not for the sake of overloading you with information. | |
| It's so that you can take the information we've given you. | |
| You can then rightly divide it within the Bible. | |
| Be like good Berean, make sure it lines up with the word of God and make an educated and informed decision yourself. | |
| Pray, fast about it. | |
| Don't just take our word for it, friend. | |
| Anything you hear that comes from this broadcast, from a guest, from us, from Ricky Mondo, anyone who sits at this table and looks at you from that camera, only believe what we say if it lines up with the word of God. | |
| We can't stand by that. | |
| We cannot allow the spirit of cancel culture come into the body of Christ. | |
| No, no. | |
| Just because we disagree. | |
| If we cancel each other, there'd be nothing left. | |
| That's right. | |
| You understand what I'm telling you? | |
| We have to listen to one another, but we got to go back to the word. | |
| That's why it fact-checked everything we're saying. | |
| That's right. | |
| Fact-check what people are writing about. | |
| Why? | |
| Does the word say it? | |
| When people want to prophesy over you, it has to align with the word. | |
| That's right. | |
| Otherwise, it becomes a funny business, and that's when people get in trouble. | |
| But we cannot allow a cancel culture spirit. | |
| And there's a cancel culture in the church right now that is tearing the church apart. | |
| And we got a bunch of loose, wild people on social media canceling men and women of God. | |
| And some of you are participating in that. | |
| Yet you have to be very careful and wise on how to navigate through the process. | |
| I'm not saying you're excusing the sin. | |
| And I'm not saying you're excusing what people are doing because there's some very bad things happening in the church that there has to be consequences. | |
| But you have to be very wise on how to cancel through the word the proper way. | |
| Otherwise, you just enter into a realm of gossiping. | |
| And you know, I'll be honest with you, the Bible just doesn't align with cancel culture. | |
| What we've seen with these canceled cultures sweeping across Hollywood media and sweeping across the country, the Bible is done in alignment with that. | |
| Open your Bible. | |
| Galatians chapter 6. | |
| I'm going to open there as well. | |
| Galatians chapter 6. | |
| It says right here, friends, brothers and sisters, if someone is overtaken in any wrongdoing, right there. | |
| If someone is overtaken in any wrongdoing, you who are spiritual, restore such a person with a gentle spirit. | |
| Other translations say with a spirit of meekness. | |
| Friends, watching out for yourselves so that you also won't be tempted. | |
| Carry one another's burdens. | |
| In this way, you will fulfill the law of Christ. | |
| For if anyone considers himself to be something when he is nothing, he deceives himself. | |
| Let each person examine his own work. | |
| Then he can take pride in himself alone and not compare himself to someone else. | |
| For each person will have to carry his own load. | |
| Let the one who is taught the word share all his good things with the teacher. | |
| Don't be deceived, for God is not mocked. | |
| For whatever a person sows, he will also reap. | |
| Friends, it is important that we restore each other. | |
| Now, friends, I understand that there are ministerial failures, and we're never going to act like that doesn't happen in the church. | |
| Like pastors don't fall. | |
| Like they don't make mistakes. | |
| And friends, restoration doesn't always mean that pastor gets back into the pulpit. | |
| That's not the reality. | |
| But friends, we should be more concerned about their soul than we are about their status. | |
| We should be more concerned about their soul than we are their position. | |
| Because friends, when a brother and sister falls down, it is our responsibility as believers to restore them. | |
| If you're spiritual, restore them in a gentle spirit. | |
| Now, friends, if you fell down and somebody came up and kicked you, is that a gentle spirit? | |
| If you fell down and instead of someone reaching out their hand to help you up, you took a photo of them and someone took a photo of you and posted it on social media. | |
| Is that a gentle spirit? | |
| No, friend, it's not. | |
| We as believers are to restore in a gentle spirit the spirit of meekness. | |
| That doesn't mean the person will always be put back into their position, always put back into the pulpit, always put back into a leadership role. | |
| But, friends, that doesn't mean that person should never be able to sit back in the pews of your church and hear the word of God and get filled with the Holy Spirit and get a touch from the Almighty Father. | |
| You know, I don't know if you know this, but Jesus died for imperfect people. | |
| He died for people he knew would make mistakes. | |
| He died for people he knew would deny him even after spending years with him. | |
| Friends, he died for those things. | |
| And actually, he appointed the man who said, I don't know Christ three times to preach the message of Pentecost. | |
| Friends, I'm telling you right now, you might be broken. | |
| You might be insecure. | |
| You might be egotistical. | |
| You might be narcissistic. | |
| And friends, the best thing you can do in any of those situations is admit it. | |
| Look yourself in the mirror and say, I am filled with pride. | |
| I had to do that myself. | |
| I am filled with ego. | |
| I had to do that myself. | |
| I am filled with non-humility to the point where I won't submit to God fully. | |
| I had to do it myself, friend. | |
| But I promise you, that's where true freedom can be found. | |
| Whenever you submit yourself fully and say, I don't care what the world thinks anymore. | |
| I understand. | |
| I understand I'll look peculiar. | |
| I understand I'll lose worldly friends. | |
| And I understand I might lose business contracts and things. | |
| But friends, when you gain Christ, you've gained everything you need. | |
| When you've gained Christ, you've gained everything you will need for eternity. | |
| It's the most important thing you'll ever do. | |
| Friends, we're an army. | |
| And we need to be an army that works well together. | |
| We need to be an army that folds on the full armor of God and we go to battle and we understand our missions. | |
| You know, Pastor Jim Baker has a message, and I really want you to hear this because this is important. | |
| The army that will win souls in the last day will be broken. | |
| And this is the message from Pastor Jim Baker. | |
| It's two minutes and 30 seconds. | |
| If you have a phone in your hand or you're doing something else, this is the background. | |
| Just pay attention for this next two and a half minutes. | |
| And I promise you, this will touch your life. | |
| God's building the army, the mighty warriors of the last days. | |
| Oh, good word. | |
| He's building them. | |
| I was prophesied over when I lost everything that one day I'd build David's army. | |
| And you know what David's army was? | |
| They were a bunch of people out in a cave. | |
| Yeah. | |
| And they were disgruntled, really. | |
| They were discouraged. | |
| They were in debt. | |
| They were broken people. | |
| Yes. | |
| And they came to David and they band together and they won the war. | |
| Yes, they did. | |
| They reunited Israel. | |
| They brought again the Ark of the Covenant. | |
|
God's Power to Restore
00:03:07
|
|
| Yes, they did. | |
| And the presence of God. | |
| And this army that's going to win the souls in the last, they're broken. | |
| You've been through things. | |
| You've had an abortion, maybe. | |
| You've done this. | |
| You've done that. | |
| Those are the people who are going to be able to say, I know what God can do. | |
| I know my God brings me through the valley of the shadow of death. | |
| I can tell you, I've been in the valley of the shadow of death. | |
| And God is the God of restoration. | |
| God is the God that turns it around. | |
| God is the God of the impossible. | |
| Yes, he is. | |
| Everybody in the Bible messed up. | |
| That's right. | |
| The man who preached the great day of the church, the beginning of the church at Pentecost, that great preacher denied Jesus Christ and swore and cursed and says, I don't even know Jesus. | |
| But yet Jesus called him to be the preacher at Pentecost. | |
| You might be like Peter. | |
| You might be doubting Thomas. | |
| You might be that one like David. | |
| You may have had sexual sin. | |
| You may have had, you know, David counted the men. | |
| Right. | |
| And I think it was, it was a 9,000 people. | |
| Pastor Teddy, 9,000 people died because of his sin, his wrongdoing, his mistake. | |
| But God said to his son, your dad, David, is the man after my own heart. | |
| Why? | |
| Because God is the restorer. | |
| Jesus died because we would blow it. | |
| Yes. | |
| I'm here to tell you, I'm the poster child for restoration. | |
| I'm telling you, God loves us. | |
| God loves Nancy Harmon. | |
| God loves you. | |
| I love that. | |
| I heard some names in that video I haven't heard in Pastor Teddy Nancy Harmon. | |
| Nancy Harmon just went to be with the Lord. | |
| What a mighty woman of God, mighty minister of God. | |
| One day we've got to do a show to honor her. | |
| We should. | |
| Play some music that she's, I mean, incredible, incredible woman of God. | |
| But friends, you haven't gone too far. | |
| You haven't done too much for the Holy Spirit to call you back and for you to be restored back into the fullness of what God has for you, friend. | |
| If you're watching now, you're watching the PTL Television Network, the Jim Baker Family Show. | |
| We have Derek Gilbert with us today. | |
| Friends, I could read his bio, but we only have 30 minutes left in the broadcast. | |
| So I'm going to have to just cut straight to him. | |
| Derek, I want to thank you for being back on the broadcast with us. | |
| And thank you for your input and everything you do. | |
| Well, thank you. | |
| It's always an honor to be here. | |
| Sorry that Sharon had to go back into the house. | |
| 2024 was a year that has challenged us just a little bit physically. | |
| She's dealing with some eye issues that are in the process of being corrected. | |
|
Prayer and Blessing
00:03:45
|
|
| I am now accompanied on all of my walks by my constant companion due to some balance issues that we're dealing with. | |
| But, you know, through all of this, it's being allowed for our own growth. | |
| And so we're looking forward to 2025 being a year when a lot of things open up. | |
| And maybe this is the Lord's way of saying, hey, slow down, spend more time studying and getting into the word. | |
| And I'll say again, Ricky, you and Mondo, opening the show the way you do with the word of God and just putting that first and foremost in the program, really, really appreciate that because that is so needed in this time. | |
| Amen. | |
| God bless you. | |
| You know, I'm reminded of a Charles Spurgeon quote quite a bit. | |
| And he says, anything that leads you to prayer is a blessing. | |
| And friends, there's some hard things that lead us to prayer. | |
| As Derek was just talking about, some physical difficulties, some eye things, some balanced things. | |
| But if it leads you to prayer, then friends, let's count it as a blessing. | |
| But Derek, through everything, you guys have remained resilient to bringing good news. | |
| And that is the gospel of Jesus Christ, but also through a biblical lens of prophecy. | |
| You have GHTV. | |
| Before we get right heavy into the questions about Israel and Hamas and ceasefires and national geopolitical issues, I want you to tell us about GHTV and what it is that you offer on GHTV, which stands for Gilbert House TV. | |
| Sharon and I have been doing programs ever since Tom Horn offered us the opportunity to come to the Ozarks and partner with him in Skywatch TV. | |
| I still do the five-day-a-week news analysis for Skywatch TV, and Joe Horn sometimes has me sit in on the panel when Skywatch TV has programs there. | |
| But here in our barn, this is a 30 by 40 foot pole barn that the Lord provided and we were able to convert into usable office and studio space. | |
| We produce a weekly program called Unraveling Revelation. | |
| And I can tell you, we got to 275 episodes or thereabouts. | |
| But ever since October 7th of a year ago, a year and three months ago, we've had to deviate into the news more and more often and away from the book of Revelation. | |
| We've also brought back a program that we had started doing a few years ago for Skywatch TV called The Bible's Greatest Mysteries, which we love because we love digging into scripture and finding these nuggets of gold that are in there. | |
| And archaeologists, God bless them, are finding that in a very real way, the rocks are crying out, just as Jesus said. | |
| We also have a couple of podcasts, a weekly Bible study podcast. | |
| We've been podcasting a program called PID Radio since 2005, PID standing for Peering Into Darkness, where we look at geopolitics and theopolitics, Sharon's term. | |
| And then my weekly interview program, A View from the Bunker, all of that coming from inside this room here. | |
| So we are, and all of that goes onto our app, which is called GHTV. | |
| It's available for iOS, Android, Amazon, Kindle, firephones, and tablets. | |
| It's also available for Roku, Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV. | |
| So people can go to our website, Gilberthouse.org, and find all of those programs. | |
| And of course, you all are very gracious to carry Unraveling Revelation on the PTL network on Saturdays, 12:30 a.m. Eastern, Sundays, 10:30 p.m. Eastern. | |
| And we are honored to partner with the PTL network and with the Baker family. | |
| Amen. | |
| We have a QR code on the screen. | |
| You can go download that app. | |
| That is the GHTV app, or go to their website and see all the different places that you can download GHTV. | |
|
Israel's Ceasefire Consequences
00:15:32
|
|
| So, Derek, with just 30 minutes left in our broadcast, we're going to be doing some popcorn questions. | |
| We're going to get right into the heat of what's happening around the world. | |
| So, I want to know what's your reaction to Israel's ceasefire deal with Hamas. | |
| You take tours to Israel, and I think I heard rumor that you'll probably be going back there again even this year. | |
| So, what's your response? | |
| Yes, our plan is to go back October 19th through 30th. | |
| We actually went last year in May. | |
| We called it a solidarity mission. | |
| A small group went during the heat of the fighting for the Rafah border crossing. | |
| We went to one of the several communities actually that were attacked on October 7th. | |
| And while we were looking into the Gaza Strip, we could actually hear the Israeli artillery in the distance, which was really sobering because we in America just don't have any frame of reference as to what that's like to have to live inside small communities that are completely walled and fenced off for security. | |
| We don't have that here in the United States. | |
| We've got friends who are in Israel, some of whom are still serving in the military there. | |
| Some who are in intelligence, in an intelligence capacity because of their ability to speak and read Arabic. | |
| So we hear from them and communicate with them and just try to keep tabs on the Israeli media. | |
| There are some very high emotions on both sides of the hostage deal because Israelis, Jews, like we Christians, put a high value on life. | |
| And so getting 33 hostages back is very important, especially for those families. | |
| I mean, I can only imagine how I would react if our daughter were among those who've been kidnapped, say, from that Nova music festival, very close to the border with the Gaza Strip. | |
| We probably would have demanded the government move heaven and earth to get her back. | |
| However, we also understand from our friends in Israel that the exchange rate of 30 Palestinian Arab prisoners, many of whom are terrorists, some of whom have been convicted of murder, being exchanged for each hostage released, is a problem for Israeli security because these are being released. | |
| These prisoners are being released into Judea and Samaria. | |
| That's what the world calls the West Bank. | |
| We use the Israeli terms, Judea and Samaria. | |
| So I understand why people who live in Judea and Samaria, Israelis, are upset that these dangerous prisoners are being released into communities that are very near their own. | |
| We in America would have a, well, we've got a similar problem here with our open borders and dangerous people being released into our communities here. | |
| It's a very difficult situation. | |
| And the Netanyahu administration, the war cabinet, has been under a lot of pressure, both internally and externally, to make a deal from outside because of the hardship that's being placed on the civilians living in Gaza internally from the families of those who are still being held captive. | |
| And on the other side, you've got those who are saying this is a security issue. | |
| Why are we releasing 1,000 Palestinian Arab prisoners to get back 33 hostages? | |
| It's a very difficult situation. | |
| I can see both sides. | |
| And what I can tell you this: this: Benjamin Netyahoo and his cabinet need our prayers. | |
| Amen. | |
| You know, who should we be watching right now, Derek? | |
| Who should we be watching in the Middle East in these years ahead, even 2025 and beyond? | |
| Well, Turkey. | |
| In a word, Turkey. | |
| Because the Turks have backed the Sunni group that emerged from Al-Qaeda, Hayat Tahrir al-Sham, HTS. | |
| That's the group that back in December suddenly came out of northwest Idlib province in Syria and took Damascus in a matter of days. | |
| So Syria is now divided between a number of factions. | |
| You've got the Alawites, which is the Shia Muslim group from which Bashar al-Assad, the Assad family, came. | |
| They're heavily armed. | |
| They don't want to be ruled by Sunnis. | |
| Sunnis and Shias see one another as heretics. | |
| And they dislike one another more than they dislike Jews, Christians, Hindus, Buddhists, etc. | |
| So they hold an enclave in western Syria, right on the Mediterranean coast. | |
| East of the Euphrates River, the Kurds are pretty much in control. | |
| And even though the Kurds are Sunni Muslims, they are ethnically different from Arabs, Turks, Persians. | |
| And so you've got a group there, you've got several groups that dislike one another: the Persians, the Iranians, the Kurds, the Arabs, the Turks. | |
| None of them really like one another. | |
| In the south, you've got Druze who are Muslim, but the Druze, even though they're an offshoot of Islam, do not identify as Muslim. | |
| They venerate as their main prophet Jethro, the father-in-law of Moses. | |
| For Muslims, Shia and Sunni, that's problematic because they see Muhammad as the last prophet. | |
| So the Druze are disliked by Muslims. | |
| The Druze have actually asked, and they're located mainly in the south of Syria with an enclave right on the border of the Golan Heights. | |
| They've asked Israel to annex their territories, which would be problematic because the world will look at Israel and say they're just trying to, you know, make a they're trying to grab land away from what is Syrian sovereign territory. | |
| But here's the thing to watch, and I think it was really significant to notice that as soon as HTS, this Sunni group, offshoot of Al-Qaeda, took Damascus, within days, the Turkish chief of intelligence, basically their equivalent of the CIA chief, went to Damascus and was being driven around Damascus by the leader of HTS, Al-Jalani, as though Al-Jalani was his chauffeur. | |
| It really showed who was in charge. | |
| It was Turkey, not this rebel group. | |
| And he visited the Umayyad Mosque in Damascus. | |
| Now, the Umayyad Caliphate, the Caliphate, was part of the Ottoman Empire. | |
| And so that was a very symbolic visit that had a lot of meaning for people who were watching closely and paying attention to what's going on. | |
| The bottom line is this: Rachep Tayyib Erdogan, the president of Turkey, would love to reestablish the Ottoman Empire. | |
| Hamas is an offshoot of the Muslim Brotherhood, which wants to restore the caliphate, which fell apart after World War I. 1922 was when it formally dissolved. | |
| So, Turkey, very significant and exercising power inside Syria right now. | |
| And because Damascus is only 40 miles from the Israeli border, got to watch what's going to happen between the Turks and the Israelis here in the years ahead. | |
| And getting into prophetic significance, the rallying point for the army of Gog of Magog in Ezekiel 38, the place called the uttermost north. | |
| In Hebrew, that phrase Yarkate Sephon refers to a specific mountain, Mount Sephon, today called Jabel al-Akra, which is near the ancient city of Antioch. | |
| It's in Turkey, very close to the border with Syria, right on the Mediterranean coast. | |
| That's the uttermost north. | |
| It's in Turkey. | |
| All of the members of that coalition coming from the north in Ezekiel 38 and 39 were located in the time of Ezekiel in what is now Turkey. | |
| So I think we need to watch very carefully what Turkey is going to do in the months and years ahead. | |
| You know, Monda, we have been hearing for a significant amount of time since 1999, actually. | |
| I was there. | |
| Pastor Jim Baker preached the message. | |
| He preached it at Rick Joyner's Morningstar. | |
| Moravian Falls. | |
| He got the Moravian Falls, but he got a download of 31 things that were going to be happening and things people need to watch for. | |
| And one of those things in 1999 was watch Turkey. | |
| Yeah, that was very odd because in that time, nobody cared, so to speak, what Turkey was doing, what Turkey was involved in. | |
| There was no superpower talks. | |
| Yet today, Turkey has become a superpower trying to find a way to be the king of the Middle East. | |
| Again, watching Turkey and how they're handling Syria is very key. | |
| Watching Turkey, how they're handling Saudi Arabia is going to be very key. | |
| How they handle the situation with Iran is going to be very key. | |
| But when Pastor Jim, your friend or father mentioned that the 31 things, including watch Turkey, watch Russia, watch Korea, the Middle East, and China. | |
| Wow. | |
| This is something that in 1999 we talked about, and ever since then, we have continued to talk about. | |
| Nobody in the prophetic world that we were aware of was even mentioning Turkey until a few years ago. | |
| That's right. | |
| Very key because Turkey has become a super powerhouse in the leading movement of the Middle East. | |
| And I want to tell you something. | |
| They hate Israel. | |
| Watch Turkey in the next few years because the more aggressive they are becoming, the more they're going to gather people or nations around them. | |
| And they're going to deceive. | |
| I read an article the other day. | |
| I don't know if you remember that Turkey looks like they're going to deceive the West. | |
| I don't know how, but they're going to deceive the West in thinking that they're going to be able to calm the situation down in the Middle East, yet it's going to draw the West into believing that they can. | |
| Yet, all it is is what I read in this report, is a setup. | |
| That's right. | |
| Derek, I want to ask you this question then. | |
| I was just reading through the 31 things that Pastor Jim Baker got in 1999. | |
| And then I don't know if you remember this, Mondo, but he also got an additional right here. | |
| Let's see if I can find it. | |
| He also got an additional five things in 2019, which is very, very important, critical as well. | |
| So, what's the prophetic significance of the 20-year alliance signed by Russia and Iran? | |
| These seem to be both pretty hefty supporters of Turkey. | |
| Yeah, and there are those in the prophetic realm who look at Russia, and it's sort of almost taken as a given anymore that Russia is the land of Magog. | |
| Sharon and I disagree, and I've written this in a couple of books, Last Clash of the Titans, Bad Moon Rising, that I don't believe Magog is Russia. | |
| And again, it's because that phrase, the uttermost north, which only appears three places in the Bible, points to that specific mountain, that mount of assembly. | |
| In fact, it comes out of Isaiah chapter 14, where Lucifer or Haleel ben-Shakar in the Hebrew wants to establish his Mount of Assembly in the far reaches of the north. | |
| Well, that's Yerkate Sephon. | |
| And there are some Bible translations that even say the remote slopes of Safon. | |
| That was in the ancient world where everyone knew Baal's palace was located. | |
| So this was a very spiritually supercharged location. | |
| And again, it's in southern Turkey, right near the border with Syria. | |
| But when you've got Russia and Iran coming together, given that, again, this mindset that Russia is the uttermost north and that Persia is one of the nations mentioned as coming against Israel in Ezekiel 38 and 39, you can't ignore the spiritual significance, the prophetic significance of that. | |
| A friend of ours, Ali Siadatan, who was born in Iran, his family fled after 1979 in the Islamic Revolution. | |
| He came to the Lord through Bible prophecy, specifically Ezekiel 38 and 39. | |
| He pointed out that throughout history, the people of Persia were friendly to the Jews. | |
| There was a very vibrant Jewish community in Iran until the Islamic Revolution of 1979. | |
| This has changed. | |
| In 2024, we saw for the first time ever Iran, Persia, launching military strikes, missile launches at Israel. | |
| And because Persia is clearly one of those mentioned in Ezekiel 38 and 39, which Sharon and I believe is the war that leads up to Armageddon, concludes at Armageddon, it's a signpost that says we're getting really close to the end times. | |
| So is Russia the land of Magog? | |
| No, we don't think so. | |
| But again, the fact that Persia, Iran, is making alliances with nations to strengthen its ability to strike at Israel is very significant. | |
| I love this. | |
| You know why? | |
| Because everything signals that the king is coming back. | |
| Amen. | |
| That's the key. | |
| You have to always remember when you're looking at Bible prophecy. | |
| Amen. | |
| Is that if the prophecy signals to the point that is highlighting that the king is coming back, then that prophecy has validity that is pointing you to the right place. | |
| That's right. | |
| The cross. | |
| The cross, the king coming back. | |
| And nations will be involved that many people are not going to pay attention to. | |
| Yet you have to stay in tune with what's happening culturally. | |
| You have to stay in tune with what's happened geopolitically because they're changing things in ways that we don't understand. | |
| Yet where we are right now could be in the middle of Bible prophecy like never before. | |
| Yet it is the church that is going to be highlighted throughout this whole process. | |
| God in his word promises that the church will be involved. | |
| We are going to play a key role in all of this. | |
| In the meantime, what do we do? | |
| Study the word. | |
| Amen. | |
| Keep fasting and praying. | |
| Seize this moment because we are watching some of the greatest events take place, some of the most unreal events, but yet some of the most scariest things that are happening that, you know what? | |
| People are going to be deceived. | |
| But when God gives a word, a prophetic word to a man or woman of God, make sure that you run it through the word. | |
| Also, watch what people are doing. | |
| I believe that this ministry, Derek Gilba's ministry, and others have been appointed for the hour that we're in right now, Ricky, because so much is happening all at the same time. | |
| Yet, how do you keep up with it? | |
|
Mount Hermon's Spiritual Significance
00:15:54
|
|
| Staying in tune. | |
| That's right. | |
| Derek, I want to get into your book that you and Sharon Gilbert authored together. | |
| I want to ask you this question. | |
| What was so important about Mount Hermon and the origin of demons that you write about? | |
| Mount Hermon was known in the ancient world to be a spiritually significant place. | |
| I mean, even back as far as the time of Abraham, almost 2,000 years before Jesus walked the earth, we know from a Babylonian copy of the Epic of Gilgamesh, which is described as the oldest epic poet or epic poetry that still exists today, you know, from the ancient Sumerians. | |
| So the old Babylonian period around the time of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, they describe Gilgamesh and his friend going to Mount Hermon to do battle against this monster called Humbaba, because Gilgamesh wanted to slay this famous monster to become famous, to make a name for himself. | |
| But after they did that, the poem says that they penetrated the secret dwelling or the forest of Lebanon, which is in the vicinity of Mount Hermon, the secret dwelling of the Anunnaki. | |
| Now, the Anunnaki had been the great gods of ancient Sumer, but by the time of Abraham, they had been demoted to being judges in the netherworld. | |
| This is significant because that area just to the south of Mount Hermon, which is called Bashan in the ancient world, the Golan Heights today, and the Upper Galilee, the region between the Sea of Galilee and Mount Hermon on the northern border of Israel, was believed to be the literal entrance to the netherworld. | |
| This is where the tombs of the Rephaim were believed to be. | |
| The Rephaim was the term used for the Nephilim after the flood. | |
| Remember that Abraham, when he did battle or had to chase after the kings that came from the east, Keder Laomer and the kings of the east in Genesis chapter 14, they had to fight Rephaim tribes east of the Jordan River. | |
| By the time of Moses, only Og of Bashan was left. | |
| He was the last of the remnant of the Rephaim. | |
| And again, his kingdom, Bashan, the region to the east and north of the Sea of Galilee, was believed to be the literal entrance to the netherworld. | |
| According to the book of 1 Enoch, this is where Mount Hermon is where the rebellious watchers, which is a class of angel, a category of angel, they're mentioned once in scripture, Daniel chapter 4, when Nebuchadnezzar has a dream, the watchers decree his punishment. | |
| So there are some faithful watchers. | |
| These rebellious watchers described in the book of 1 Enoch came down to the summit of Mount Hermon, made a mutual agreement to corrupt humanity by taking human wives and corrupting the human bloodline and teaching us things we weren't supposed to know. | |
| So again, the point is that to the Canaanites, to the Israelites, to the people in the entire ancient Near East, Mount Hermon was essentially the equivalent of Mount Olympus. | |
| It's where the gods met. | |
| And it was at Mount Hermon, first at Caesarea Philippi, the grotto of Pan, where the gates of hell are located. | |
| That's that big cave that was the source of the Jordan River. | |
| Jesus took his disciples to declare his divinity. | |
| On this rock, this 9,200-foot mountain that everybody thinks is the equivalent of Mount Hermon, I will build my church. | |
| And the gates of hell, this really big cave over here that everybody knows opens to the netherworld, will not prevail against my church. | |
| Jesus went there specifically to declare his divinity. | |
| And then the Gospel of Matthew tells us that six days later, he and Peter and James and John climbed that mountain for the transfiguration. | |
| So Jesus declared his divinity to his followers at the base of Mount Hermon. | |
| Then he climbed the mountain, was transfigured into a being of light, visited by Moses and Elijah. | |
| Hey, the fallen realm, Satan and his minions couldn't help but notice that one. | |
| That was like sending a flare into the spirit realm. | |
| Jesus saying, Here I am. | |
| What are you going to do about it? | |
| Now, you say the practice of summoning spirits in the ancient world is related to the modern UFO phenomenon. | |
| Derek, I got to ask you, how in the world are those two things connected? | |
| Yeah, it doesn't seem to connect, but here's the connection: the origin of demons, believed to be the spirits of the giants who were destroyed in the flood of Noah. | |
| This was the understanding of Jews of the Second Temple period. | |
| This was the understanding of the early Christian church until about the fifth century, the time of Augustine or Augustine, depending on how you want to pronounce it. | |
| He was the one who popularized the idea that the sons of Seth, the sons of God, rather, in Genesis chapter 6, verses 1 through 4, were actually the righteous sons of Seth. | |
| Prior to that, it was understood that the giants, the Nephilim, who were the product of these unholy unions between these rebellious angels, for lack of a better term, and human women, when the flood swept over the land, their spirits became demons. | |
| Now, the modern UFO phenomenon, every single contact claimed by people who say that they're hearing from visitors from outer space, visitors from Zeta Reticuli or the Ashtar Command or whatever, it's always telepathic. | |
| Okay, but from a Christian perspective, we can say that's spiritual. | |
| This is a demonic contact. | |
| And so people who are trying to make contact with these so-called extraterrestrials, Dr. Stephen Greer, who's a leading voice in the official disclosure movement, the people who want the government to give up everything that it knows about extraterrestrials. | |
| Dr. Greer actually has instructions at one of his websites. | |
| He's even got an app that you can download to your smartphone or tablet to teach you how to meditate and to open yourself up to the spirit realm. | |
| That's not how he puts it, but that's really what he's teaching. | |
| And to hear from these entities. | |
| It is demonic. | |
| It is just another deception leading people away from the gospel of Jesus Christ. | |
| You know, hallucinogenic drugs are being used by some people today to create what they think is a spiritual experience. | |
| Why do you conclude that a chapter, why do you include a chapter on this in the gates of hell? | |
| That's what I should say. | |
| Well, it's, as we said in the previous program, that it is our contention that the gates of hell are not one physical location. | |
| Yes, Jesus took his disciples to Caesarea, Philippi, at the base of Mount Hermon and said, the gates of hell, this big cave right over here, will not prevail against my church. | |
| But you can open those gates. | |
| We don't recommend it. | |
| In fact, that would be a really bad idea. | |
| But you can open yourself up to the spirit realm through the free will choices that you make. | |
| The gates of hell are inside the human heart. | |
| Your free will choices can open you up to these entities. | |
| This is why John the Apostle wrote, test the spirits, for not all of them come from God. | |
| This is why Moses was commanded by God to tell the Israelites, don't consult with mediums, don't consult with necromancers, those who claim to be talking to the spirits of the dead. | |
| It's not because it's a waste of time and it doesn't work. | |
| It's because there are spirits that will answer and they are not faithful or loyal to God. | |
| So this is a practice that is being facilitated through the use of certain psychedelics, specifically ayahuasca and its active chemical DMT. | |
| There are people who will go to South America to have these DMT trips or ayahuasca trips with shamans there. | |
| In fact, there's been some research done at, I believe it was New Mexico State University. | |
| Dr. Rick Strassman some years ago did research with volunteers where they took DMT intravenously and reported what they saw. | |
| He wrote a book about it called DMT the Spirit Molecule and found that some of these researchers were seeing the same things at the same time. | |
| Now, group hallucinations, mass hallucinations, is not a thing. | |
| They were actually seeing into the spirit realm. | |
| And Dr. Strassman concluded that this is probably how the Hebrew prophets got their visions from God. | |
| No, it's because God allowed them to see into that spirit realm. | |
| They were not dosing on mushrooms or whatever. | |
| But there are people out there who want to become more spiritually attuned. | |
| They want to see into that realm, and they're using drugs to do it. | |
| And again, this is just another way of trying to force open the gates of hell. | |
| Wow. | |
| Dr. Tom Horne wrote in his book, Zenith 2016, that the art and architecture of the United States Capitol was designed to open up the gates of the netherworld. | |
| You have a different idea of that. | |
| What is your point of view? | |
| Well, we think he's right that it was intended for the spirit realm to try to force open the gates of the netherworld. | |
| In the second coming of Saturn and then in the gates of hell, we talk about this. | |
| Tom believed that Apollyon would, or at least this was the intention of the occult adepts who designed the U.S. Capitol and had the painting called the Apotheosis of Washington, depicting George Washington ascending into the heavens as a pagan god on the underside of the U.S. Capitol. | |
| I agree that Apollyon is the entity who is symbolically represented as emerging into the heavens with George Washington representing Apollyon. | |
| Where I differ with Tom, and this is on a relatively minor point, Tom believed that Apollyon is the Antichrist. | |
| I think Apollyon is that entity who led the rebellion mentioned very briefly in Genesis chapter 6. | |
| Shemeaza is the name given in 1 Enoch. | |
| His name is not given in the Bible. | |
| But I think that that entity, who, according to Peter and Jude, is locked up, chained up in the bottomless pit in Tartarus, in chains in gloomy darkness until the judgment. | |
| I think the leader of that rebellion is the one who gets out in Revelation chapter 9 as Apollyon or Abaddon. | |
| And I think that's what's depicted inside the United States Capitol. | |
| And I think George Washington, frankly, would be appalled to see that he is represented in this way. | |
| This is the same entity, Apollyon, Abaddon, Shemiazza in the Old Testament, known throughout history by many names, including Saturn by the Romans, Kronos to the Greeks, El to the Canaanites, and so on and so on. | |
| The Hebrews referred to him as Molech. | |
| And I think that's what is depicted inside the U.S. Capitol. | |
| Now, I've done presentations on this. | |
| That'll go 90 minutes, but for time's sake, I would just direct people to our book to get the details of all of that. | |
| Where could someone go to purchase this book? | |
| The Gates of Hell with Sharon and Derek Gilbert. | |
| It's available at Amazon. | |
| It's available as a paperback Kindle. | |
| It's also available in audiobook format. | |
| A wonderful, wonderful voice actor named Treg Monty, who did the reading there. | |
| It's really, really amazing hearing a guy with a big voice, very a lot of gravitas, reading your own words back at you. | |
| That's a real experience. | |
| That's amazing. | |
| So we want you to go support this. | |
| Go to Amazon. | |
| You can get a paperback or electronic version as well. | |
| Or you can get it to where someone else reads it for you. | |
| Audio version. | |
| Can't beat that? | |
| No. | |
| All right. | |
| We want to thank you for being a PTL supporter. | |
| Derek, I want to ask you one last question. | |
| We just have a few minutes left in the broadcast, just a few short four minutes. | |
| Why is all of this important to believers? | |
| Well, it's important to understand what the other side believes so that we can recognize the deception when it's coming at us. | |
| I mean, obviously, being grounded in the Word of God and recognizing that as the truth, capital T truth, is most important. | |
| But understand that the enemy, the fallen realm, and it's not just Satan and some demons. | |
| There are other fallen angels in that realm as well. | |
| They are aligned against us. | |
| So when we talk about what Jesus did to save us, it's more than just saving us from our own internal desires and temptations. | |
| There are other spirits out there who want to harm us. | |
| Now, that shouldn't cause us any fear. | |
| I love the way Sharon has preached on this when she's taught on Psalm 23, because we are the sheep who are following our shepherd. | |
| And we're often distracted because we see a nice little bit of grass over here and we go over there and we wander off in our own direction. | |
| But he's always watching for us and he will bring us back if we listen for his voice. | |
| But when these fallen entities line up against us and say, hey, I'm coming for you, our response should simply be, hey, look, talk to the shepherd. | |
| He's right there. | |
| He's got a rod and he's got a staff and he's ready to administer a cosmic beatdown. | |
| So we just need to understand how far our Savior is willing to go to save us and bring us safely into his kingdom. | |
| Amen. | |
| Friends, we want to thank Derek Gilbert for being on the broadcast with us today. | |

God's Exalted Position
00:00:59
|

| God did. | |
| Far above every ruler and authority, power and dominion, and every title given, not only in this age, but also in the one to come. | |
| And he subjected everything under his feet and appointed him as the head over everything for the church. | |
| For this is the body, the fullness of the one who fills all things in every way. | |
| Friends, he is far above everybody, above every title. | |
| There is nobody on his level. | |
| There is nobody above him at any point. | |
| And everyone that is below him is very, very, very far below him, friends. | |
| And that's the God who loves you. | |
| That's the God who sent his only son to die on a cross so that you can be called a son and a daughter. | |
| That's the best decision you'll ever make. | |
| Make the choice today. | |

| We'll see you next time on the Jim Baker Family Show, the PTL Television Network. | |
| We know the importance of drinking good, purified, and filtered water. | |
| In fact, 75% of the water you drink is away from home. | |
| For over a decade, Seychell Water Filtration has provided our partners with access to filtered water from most fresh water sources. | |
| These filters remove up to 99.99% of harmful contaminants found in your drinking water. | |
| This includes lead, herbicides, and pesticides. | |
| But most important, it makes your water taste good. | |
| Go to our affiliate site at jimbakershow.com and click on the Seychell Water Filtration link to explore the different filtration products that are available. | |
