Reading the Signs 00:08:19
And friends, that's wildly important.
I want you to open up your Bible right now to Luke chapter 21.
I'm going to be reading out of the CSB version.
Right here, we see the disciples asking a good question to Jesus.
Right here in verse 7, they say, teacher, they asked him, so when will these things happen?
And what will be the signs when these things are about to take place?
What they're asking him is, Jesus, when exactly is it that you plan on coming back?
I mean, that's a valid question.
They've just spent, you know, two and a half, three years with him in ministry.
They have seen miracles.
They've seen all these crazy things happen.
And so they're saying, well, Jesus, you're saying you're going to leave us and you're saying you're going to return.
When exactly is that going to be?
Now, friends, you can continue to read on through this in chapter 21 of the book of Luke.
But here right now in verse 29, I want to read this to you because this is important.
It says right here.
Then he told them a parable.
Look at the fig tree and all the trees.
As soon as they put out leaves, you can see for yourselves and recognize that summer is already near.
In the same way, when you see that things are happening, recognize that the kingdom of God is near.
Truly, I tell you, this generation will certainly not pass away until all things take place.
Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.
Mondo, we've been talking, especially the last few episodes.
Friends, if you haven't seen the last few episodes of the Jim Baker family show that we have done, go on video and demand, watch them.
If you've recorded them, please pay attention to them.
We've been talking about biblical literacy.
It is time that the church gets back into the saddle of understanding the word of God.
For some reason, Mondo, and I think it's been by design, slowly and sadly, biblical literacy was less honored.
So, you know, people felt like, I didn't need to read the word of God or understand it as much.
I'll digest whatever it is my pastor gives me on a Sunday and a Wednesday.
And friends, that's good.
Go to church every Sunday, every Wednesday, every chance that you get the opportunity to digest what he's saying, but don't just listen to the word on an hour on Sunday and an hour on Wednesday.
Friends, digest the word of God any opportunity you have in your home.
Spend time in the morning before you go to work.
Spend time when all the kids are asleep and your wife's asleep or your husband's asleep.
Lay in bed and say, God, I want to know your word better.
But biblical literacy, Mondo, we saw a Barner report.
It's at an all-time high.
Illiteracy, where it means people don't understand the word of God.
But we want to reverse that in 2025, where biblical literacy, where people understand the word of God, is at an all-time high.
People focus and they use the term false prophets, false teachers, false pastors.
But I want to bring one up to you.
What about false converts?
Because the converts, meaning us, the ones that sit under those teachings, if we don't do our work to study the word, we become false church members.
We've seen that.
A lot of people who they can talk the talk, but they don't walk the walk.
And a lot of us, we may have been in that situation in our lives where we called ourselves Christian, we look Christian, we smell Christian, everything about us.
We wore the cross so that people know that we are Christian, but our hearts were far from God.
Friend, I'll tell you right now, when you study and dive into the word of God as often as you possibly can, your heart will grow closer to God and closer to God and closer to God.
You'll have a more intimate relationship with the Son.
You'll have a more personal relationship where you have conversation with the Holy Spirit.
I'm telling you, friend, it is one of the best things you will ever do.
That's why we'll continue to harp that message.
You may be watching this and say, man, they sound like broken records up there telling me to read my Bible and study more.
But friends, we have to study to show ourselves approved.
We want to be able to teach other people what the word of God is.
And we want to be able to have a defense for everything that we believe.
That was something that the Lord convicted me of many years ago.
He's like, okay, you know what you believe and you can say what you believe, but can you defend what you believe?
You know, we, American culture, American Christian culture has become addicted to conferences.
And we run to conferences to try to get a word.
Yet you want to hear God's words, read the book.
You want to know what God thinks about certain issues?
Read the book.
You want to know what God thinks about racist people.
Read the book.
You want to know about what God wants to show you about the future.
Read the book.
But in Christianity in America, we have become addicted to treating our prophets as fortune tellers, yet that's not their job.
That's right.
It's like fast food Christianity.
Exactly.
Their job is to say the word that has already been written.
That's right.
I want to tell you something.
When Jeremiah received the word, when Isaiah received the word, when Jude received the word, they did not water down the gospel to fit the culture, let alone to fit the culture of the church.
And this is why they didn't do it, friends.
Now, this wasn't written whenever they were writing those books, but friends, I can tell you that this is why they didn't water down the gospel or add anything of their own opinion to it right here.
It says this in Revelation 22, friends.
If you have your Bible, open up.
Revelation chapter 22.
It says this in verse 18.
I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book.
If anyone adds to them, God will add to him the plagues that are written in this book.
And if anyone takes away from the words of this books of prophecy, God will take away his share of the tree of life and the holy city, which are written about in this book.
Friends, that's two verses before the end of the entire Bible that we've been getting, the 66 books right here.
It is important that we add nothing of our own opinion and we take away nothing because of our own opinion.
Friends, I want to encourage you, fall in love with Jesus more than you ever have.
Fall in love with the Word of God more than you ever have.

No matter if the culture tells us to stop talking about or to stop talking about particular issues, we're never going to stop talking about them because they're biblical issues.
No matter if the government says, hey, we can keep you guys on channels and keep you guys on airs if you stop talking about X, Y, and Z. Friends, if X, Y, and Z is in the Bible, we have to talk about it because we will deal with biblical issues on every front.
It doesn't matter if it's comfortable or uncomfortable.
We're going to bring up the issues and we're going to talk about them from a biblical standpoint.
And friends, I want to tell you something.
This is what our friend Derek and Sharon Gilbert are doing at GHTV, Skywatch TV.
Derek, I want to ask you, what are some of the things that God has been speaking to you about in this season for 2025?
And what's coming for GHTV?
Well, we brought back our program, The Bible's Greatest Mysteries, because, and I love what you and Monda were talking about here because the Bible is a sensational book.
It is the most supernatural book that's ever been written.
And yet we have desupernaturalized it in the Western church to the point where we look at Jesus as sort of a cosmic life coach.
Look, we've got life coaches out there who are really good at their jobs.
Jesus was here to deal with problems of eternal consequence.
So let's look at it from that perspective.
Let's try to see the world and read the Bible.
Read the words that Jesus spoke with the worldview of the apostles and the prophets of the Old Testament who understood that spiritual warfare was a real thing, that there are evil intelligences, extra-dimensional intelligences, if you will, that are bent on destroying everything that we love and everything and everyone that we love.
So, yeah, I don't think we need to add anything to the word of God or take anything away from it to try to make it more interesting.
Central Bank Digital Currency 00:03:48
If we understand it the way the apostles and the prophets did, the Bible's pretty sensational on its own.
What I see coming in 2025, and I would not go so far as to say this is a word from the Lord or anything like that.
I was not blessed with that gift of hearing from the Lord directly.
But every now and then I get a sense that something is really important.
And one of the things that we see coalescing in 2025 are a number of very powerful financial organizations and institutions that are preparing the central bank, preparing central bank digital currencies, both the G7, which are the seven largest Western economies, the U.S., the U.K., Canada, Germany, France, Italy, and so on,
are testing a CBDC at the same time that the BRICS nations, that's Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, now with the United Arab Emirates and Iran as part of that group, testing their own central bank digital currency.
Now, why is this something to keep an eye on?
There are people who have been looking at the development of so-called cryptocurrencies or digital money like Bitcoin over the past few years and wondering, is this the mark of the beast?
Well, Bitcoin is a decentralized digital currency.
Now, I don't own any Bitcoin.
I'm still old school.
I like to, even though our money doesn't really have anything backing it, at least you can hold it in your hand.
But Bitcoin is decentralized.
There is no single company, corporation, government, CEO who controls Bitcoin and can make arbitrary decisions about who can use it, where it can be used, what it can be used.
That's not the case with a central bank digital currency because a CBDC obviously goes through a central bank.
So if the Federal Reserve Bank, which is part of this new test coming up in 2025 for the G7 CBDC, the New York Federal Reserve Bank, if the Federal Reserve Bank were to issue a digital dollar, this could conceivably be programmed in certain ways.
So in other words, if I were to go to the store and want to buy a gallon of ice cream, they could say, well, Mr. Gilbert, we can see that your weight is up a little bit, so you're not allowed to buy this today.
Or if I were to go to, say, an online bookstore and want to buy some research material or perhaps a new translation of the Bible, something like that.
Well, Mr. Gilbert, this is hate speech, and so we can't allow you to use your digital dollar to purchase this thing.
It could even be geo-fenced so that you're not allowed to use your central bank currency outside the limits of your 15-minute city.
Things like this.
So the central bank digital currency is something to watch in 2025 because, again, this is a year that pilot programs by the G7 and by the BRICS nations, again, China and India between the two of them account for, you know, what, about 3.5 billion people.
And when you include Russia, the UAE, and Iran in there, like 40% of the world's hydrocarbon reserves.
That's a major economic block.
And the two largest economic blocks on Earth both testing central bank digital currencies in 2025 because of the nature of a centrally controlled digital currency.
This will be the closest thing we've ever seen on planet Earth to the mark of the beast.
So that, I think, is something to really watch for in 2025.
You know.

No, you're right on.
Powerful Financial Decisions Ahead 00:12:38
I want to tell you something.
You are right on to where this ministry has been studying the last few years.
Economically, we are headed towards, I believe, one of the most difficult times in America, let alone the world.
But Ricky, there are powerful people behind the scenes that are making financial decisions for the world.
Yet when it interconnects, it's going to change the way we give, the way we stand for churches, the way we support churches.
And this is why, this is not planned, what I'm going to tell you.
This is why we need your support every single day to continue to do what we're doing because in order to have an interpretation of what's developing right now on how it's going to affect you as a Christian, we need people like Derek Gilbert to help us understand what does the Bible have to say about this.
But as Christians, how are we going to know, Ricky, what is the sign of the beast?
That's right.
We don't know.
We don't know how it's going to look like.
We can only paint the picture, but don't be deceived.
Jesus told us three times, don't be deceived.
Have the wisdom, have the interpretation.
And I believe that this ministry is going to be very vital to how to interpret a lot of these biblical events.
That's right.
We're even seeing across the nation right now in the United States of America.
We're seeing events that they're calling apocalyptic of biblical size proportions.
I mean, we also need to be able to know and be able to ask the questions to experts like Derek Gilbert and others that come on our broadcast.
Is this an event that lines up with Bible prophecy or is it just something that's happening across the United States?
And I think it's important to be able to ask those questions and to get a good answer for those questions.
You know, I've studied the word for the last 26 years and I've learned, Ricky, that a lot of times prophets or people that call themselves prophets want to judge very harshly on events that maybe God will use to draw people to him.
There's a moment in time that God creates where he allows his mercy to come in through world events where the church can step in and share the gospel of Jesus Christ.
The unbeliever will never understand, and that is proven biblically, that the unbeliever will never understand Bible prophecy until it's revealed to them.
But for the church, it is our duty to step in when world events take place with the good news of the gospel to feed the poor, to clothe the naked, to share the love of Christ like never before.
It is that small window when people are vulnerable.
And right now, LA's real life apocalyptic moment is not a movie.
That's right.
It is not something that, you know, you're expecting the rock to come through the fall to come and save L.A. busting through a brick wall or something.
Exactly.
But yet the destruction of the fires that is happening, it is one of the greatest in LA history.
Over a thousand, I think right now is over 2,000 structures that are burned.
Reports are coming in that they're running out of water.
The hydrants are running out of water.
Thousands of homes are being destroyed.
And I want to tell you something.
The politicized people that are involved in politics, let's just say that, are so corrupt that it's revealing the true nature.
And I believe that God uses this event, Ricky, to reveal the nature of mankind's heart behind the office of politics.
And it's being revealed right now as we're watching the fires take place in Los Angeles, California.
It is revealing where we are politically.
But I want to ask you this, Derek Gilbert.
What is your take on what's happening right now in Los Angeles as we're watching one of America's biggest cities burn down right before our eyes?
Well, I think it's tragic that political decisions that have been made there for reasons that have nothing to do with trying to protect the lives and the infrastructure of the city have led to this catastrophe.
There are people who are looking for conspiracies behind the scenes.
It was reported and has been confirmed that there are insurance companies that have canceled policies there for thousands of people in California over the past few years.
But there's no real conspiracy here.
It's not like they're trying to burn these structures down in order to clear the land for something else.
It's simply that the state of California makes it very difficult for insurance companies for business period to operate because of excessive regulation and fees.
And then when you see the other policies like not clearing dried brush, not cutting out dead wood from the forests, not refilling critical reservoirs and prioritizing diversity, equity, and inclusion when hiring firefighters over competence and training, that it's no surprise then that the insurance companies would look at these homes that they've got on the say, you know, insuring fire traps is just bad business.
So the sad thing is, as of this recording, five lives are confirmed lost, and there will probably be more as these fires, as of this recording, five of them burning out of control.
Is it God's judgment?
I don't know, but there's certainly hopefully a wake-up call for people here.
And as you said, Mondo, I think very wisely, this is the kind of thing when people lose everything.
Actor James Woods, who had to flee his home in Pacific Palisades, posted to X that it really brings things into sharp focus when you are forced to flee and leave everything, a lifetime of memories behind.
Suddenly, you are left with no support.
This is the one time when, for many people, maybe the only time they'll be open to the gospel of Jesus Christ.
I believe it.
I would just want to end with this.
Our opportunity right now as Christians is to bring help, and the help we can bring is what we have been talking about for years, Ricky.
There's over a million people without power, yet we have spent a lot of our lifetime, meaning 26 some years, trying to get you to prepare for moments like this.
If you know someone that is going through this in California, you know for sure that they need the lion energy to help them give a peace of mind.

Crying Families, Hope Through Help 00:03:40

When you see the eyes of the people, you will see hope when they see hope through something as simple as food.

But there, Gilbert, we are starting to see an extreme weather cycle that is ripping through so many different extremes from cold to hot tornado tornadoes and hurricanes and wildfires.
Your thoughts on the observations through scripture.
How do we interpret this and how do we make sense of this?
I think this is a time for people to take a lesson from Joseph, who saw what was coming.
Of course, he was given a word from the Lord that there'd be seven years of famine ahead.
But we, absent that kind of advanced warning, should be prepared for the unexpected.
I mean, these things happen again and again.
I was just reading about the fires in California and how before it was heavily settled by the European settlers in the 19th century who moved out there, that the wildfire season in California was actually worse than it is today.
We have kind of curbed it because of modern firefighting techniques, but now we've got so many people there drawing on the water and the water is not well managed.
The snow melt from the mountains runs off into the Pacific.
The heavy rains that we had back early last spring, we're not allowed to be caught in catch basins and reservoirs.
Those are all, that's all off in the Pacific Ocean.
But these are things that if we were wise, like Joseph, and looking at the kinds of things that could happen and preparing in advance for them, I think we would be in a much better situation.
We have a tendency to think, based on our relatively short lifespans, because certain things have not happened for 10, 20, 40, 50 years, that they'll never happen.
And that's just not reality.
So I think just looking at the life of Joseph and being wise and allocating resources in advance, taking a small portion of extra and setting it aside.
Sharon and I have been doing this with long-term shelf storage type food, you know, rice, beans.
We've got a couple of buckets from the Jim Baker show that we've set it aside just in the event of a massive snowfall or some other weather event that makes it impossible for us to get to the store.
Or for us to share with neighbors who may not have prepared.
I think that's the other thing, too, is to remember that our preparedness is not necessarily to save our own lives while the rest of the world falls apart around us, but to share the love of Christ with those who are in need, like they're doing at the Dream Center in Los Angeles.
Dealing with Syria's Fractured State 00:06:06
And as we've seen your ministry do again and again, and this is not something the corporate media will report.
They're happy to report the sensational stuff and blow things out of proportion and twist the facts to present a certain narrative about Pastor Jim and about the Jim Baker show and the ministry there, but they don't report on the truckloads of aid, food, and water that you sent to Florida, to Houston, and now coming up to California.
That's the kind of thing that we should be doing, and this is the kind of thing that we are called to do as Christians.
But again, it all begins with being prepared to help when the time arrives.
Amen.
That's well put.
You know, we get into almost every subject on this show.
And Derek, I want to ask you something about the coming of Trump presidency.
What do you think the first 100 days of the Trump presidency will look like, round two for Donald Trump?
It's going to be a whirlwind.
I think we've seen his setting up of his cabinet choices in advance this time.
He's had four years to think about what he would do differently from his first term in office.
And I think we've seen him preparing to hit the ground running on January 21st after the inauguration.
The question is whether the deep state will allow him to do what he wants to do.
That is the question.
Has President Trump learned enough from his previous term in office to outmaneuver those forces inside the bureaucracy and inside the intelligence community, inside the Pentagon, who will try to circumvent what he wants to accomplish?
For example, we saw the Pentagon openly after his first term declaring that they did not give certain information to the president because they felt that it was too dangerous for Trump to know.
This, I'm sorry, but this sounds treasonous to me.
I don't think the military should be taking it upon itself to withhold information from any president, Republican or Democrat, because they think the president might do something that they disagree with.
That's not their call.
He is the commander or she at some point in the future.
This is the commander-in-chief.
That's the way our constitutional republic is set up.
Will President Trump be able to get around those roadblocks during the first hundred days?
We'll find out.
I think there's a much better chance in his second term than in his first.
I think, at the very least, it's going to be very entertaining what with the news of President Trump saying, you know, Canada would make a great 51st state.
And oh, yes, we want Greenland too.
Does he really mean it?
Don't know.
But he's a shrewd businessman.
These may be good opening bargaining tactics to accomplish what he actually wants to accomplish.
We've seen that.
Yeah, people, you know, they can't tell if he's being serious or if he's joking.
If he is being serious, all best of luck to him on that if he's joking.
I guess it was a funny joke because the entire mainstream media was going crazy over that.
You know, I want to ask you, apart from the deep state, what challenges do you forecast Trump will face as the nation is truly in chaos on every single front?
President Biden is leaving President Trump with a real mess.
The Bureau of Labor Statistics has been lying about the economy for the last four years to try to make it appear as though it's healthier than it really is.
So I think when President Trump gets into office, I think the numbers, the inflation numbers, the employment figures, will suddenly reflect reality better than they have for the past four years.
And it will appear as though President Trump is presiding over a downturn in the economy.
Reality is the economy has been limping along since President Biden took office.
The inflation numbers have been hit 40-year highs during his presidency, and they tried to hide that by jiggering the numbers.
I think President Trump is going to have to deal with an economy that is struggling.
He's going to have to deal with a parting shot that Biden is leaving behind with trying to ban oil drilling on the continental shelf.
Will President Trump be able to overturn that executive order?
Some legal scholars think he may have more trouble doing it than just simply issuing a countering executive order.
So we've got energy issues that President Trump wants to address.
His famous mantra, drill, baby, drill, may be slowed down by environmentalists who sue, baby, sue.
So there's that.
There's the economy to deal with.
And also on his way out the door, President Biden is shoveling as much aid to Ukraine as he possibly can, trying to get the United States embroiled in World War III.
Just this past week, it was reported by people on the ground that the United States military was establishing a new military base near the city of Kobani, which is northern Syria, right on the border with Turkey.
That's significant because it's an area that is very significant to the Kurdish population in the region.
The Kurds are ethnically distinct from the Arabs and the Turks, and neither the Arabs of Syria nor the Turks of Turkey like them.
In fact, the Turkish president, Rachep Tayyib Erdogan, says he wants to see a future in Syria without the Kurds.
Well, if we've got the United States military right in the middle of the Kurdish population in northern Syria, you've got perhaps a confrontation between the two largest militaries in NATO, Turkey and the United States.
So I think we've got military confrontations that President Trump will have to deal with, dealing with the situation in Ukraine, dealing with the fractured state of Syria.

And while this is going on, the Chinese want to reintegrate Taiwan into the island.
Lieutenant Colonel Robert McGinnis wrote this that his sources say it may happen by 2027.
That doesn't surprise me because when you look at the population figures, the demography of China, it is an aging and shrinking population.
That one child policy that they had for many, many years has come back to bite them.
They are shrinking at such a rate that even the Chinese believe their population will drop from about 1.4 billion today to about half or maybe even less, maybe even as low as 500 million by the end of this century.
And that means that the number of young men of fighting age is going to shrink rapidly here over the next few years.
So if they're going to make a move against Taiwan, it will be sooner rather than later.
So I think those things, as far as geopolitics are concerned, the president's going to have to deal with domestically.
Energy policy and the economy will be his big issues.
And of course, dealing with the aftermath of Joe Biden's open borders for the last four years.
Yeah, we're seeing that true.
The aftermath has been quite devastating.
I mean, our southern border has been so wide open.
We've had hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of people documented and undocumented coming across the southern border.
I mean, this is an issue that a lot of people are having to deal with.
But the current administration is just going to hand it over to the next administration, and we'll spend the next four years listening to how this was all Trump's fault.
Exactly.
And I think one of the key things to watch for is the Trendaragua gang.
Yeah, which came in out of southern.
For those who don't know, we've been hearing a lot about this on the news.
Who are these?
Trendaragua is one of the most vicious gangs out of the prisons of Venezuela.
Wow.
And they have come into this country and they are targeting athletes' homes, famous people's homes, breaking into their homes, stealing everything, terrorizing neighborhoods.
They're not good people.
They're not nice people.
They're not people that, oh, let's put them back into society.
No, they have no intentions other than to kill, steal, and destroy.
That is the enemy's plan behind all of this.
Trendaragua is the result of having an open border.
Even Latinos in America are telling you, you better lock these people up and not allow them to see the sunlight.
We are in trouble in America where we have released and unleashed enemies within America that want nothing but destructions.
And I want to tell you something.
The open border policy is a detriment to people that want to do things the right way.
If we don't fix this, we're going to have a bigger problem because they will retaliate and they're setting up camp all over America.
Yet, do I believe that this administration that is coming can fix it?
Absolutely.
They have to put the fear of God, so to speak.
And they know that if they don't get in before Trump gets into office, they will have a lot of people.
They probably won't be getting in.
Absolutely.
Derek, can I ask you this question?
This is not planned or scheduled, so hopefully, you know, I don't throw you off too much.
But mass deportation.
We've heard this so many times.
You've heard, you know, we're going to do mass deportations of illegal immigrants.
Is that something that's even possible?
We'll find out.
I think President Trump has designated a good man to oversee the policy, Tom Homan.
And I think it will have to be a reality because by some accounts, there are many as 11 million undocumented migrants that have crossed the border since Joe Biden took office.
And many of them are, and this is not a new problem.
I remember when I was hosting a daily secular talk show on the radio back in 2006, I talked with a member of the Border Patrol Union who said that they were seeing an alarming number of what they called OTMs crossing the border.
That's an acronym that they used to refer to other than Mexican.
So you'd assume that most of the people crossing the border are crossing from the next door neighbor, Mexico.
But in fact, they were seeing a lot of people from China, from the Middle East, and from Africa even back then.
So this is not a new problem.
It's just exploded to a whole nother level under Joe Biden.
There are people in this country who we don't, we have no, we've not vetted.
We don't know who they are, where they are, or why they're here.
But as Mondo pointed out, many of them, like Trenton Daragua, they do not have our best interests at heart.
And that's to put it mildly, they have no respect for our laws.
And it may take a military operation to get this situation back under control.
Because when you've got a situation where trust is completely gone in society, you can't go into a store without seeing locked cases around the toothpaste.
It's very difficult for businesses to survive and for people to live the kind of lives that we all grew up enjoying here in America.
So it will either have to happen or we're looking at a future where the only way to keep the peace is to keep everybody under armed guard all the time.
That's not the kind of future that we want, not in America.
Yeah, not in our first world country here.
We're the greatest country on the planet.
We don't want this to become a second or third world country, friends.
We need to elect people who have America's best interests in mind.
And it's strange to me that that is a controversial phrase.
It's so odd to me that you're like, oh, we want a president who is wildly pro-American.
And people are like, oh, don't say that.
Don't say that.
You can't say that on television.
That is the oddest thing to me.
Why would you not want your president, your senators, your congressmen, your representatives?
Why would you not want them pro-American?
And if you're living, like we live in Missouri, why would I not want my representatives and senators and congressmen to be pro-Missouri?
That doesn't make any sense, friends.
It seems like logic has left the room, but hopefully it can start coming back in.
We can get common sense back that we need pro-American governmental leadership back in America who has America's interest in mind.
Yes, I do believe that we are a superpower and we have the capability of helping other countries.
And as we have the capability of helping other countries, we should do so.
I truly believe that.
But friends, when we have veterans of the United States military who are sleeping on the streets, freezing to death in cold climate temperatures, can't get a meal to eat.
When we have our own people who can't get jobs and sustain their families, they have food insecurity in a first world nation, maybe we should rethink who we are electing into office.
Maybe we should rethink, hmm, maybe some pro-American people wouldn't be a bad idea.
And friends, I think that's what we saw in this last election in 2023: there was a wave of people saying, you know what?
Maybe pro-American isn't such a bad thing.
When you have this current administration just released $500 million to Ukraine, an additional topic.
If North Carolina can't get a penny to help restore North Carolina, what makes us think that they're going to prioritize Los Angeles, California?
Yeah, what did they get?
I know we saw this in Hawaii.
They got like a $750 check.
I don't know if it's per person or per family, a one-time check.
Carolina, I think they got roughly the same thing, a $700-ish dollar.
Don't quote me on that number, check, a one-time check per member per family.
Friends, we are sending billions and billions of dollars in foreign aid to fight a war that legitimately has nothing to do with us.
I understand that there are geopolitical things that go into it.
I understand there's interest in war because war makes money.
And that's just the reality of it.
But friends, we have people who are going through crisis here in America on our eastern seaboard, on our western seaboard, right in the middle of our country, who are quite mondo, literally millions of people displaced.
And I guarantee you, they will not get the same treatment as the individuals that we give foreign aid to.
No, but if you go to El Salvador, they put El Salvador first, meaning the president has put El Salvador first and you see the results of that.
Being a strong Christian man as well.
Unbelievable, Christian, born-again man.
Yet when you look at other nations, it's a reflection of where their heart is.
Yes.
Again, you use the scripture.
The Bible says, as a man thinketh, so is he.
Out of the abundance of the heart, they speak.
That means that whatever they feel about America, they're speaking.
That's right.
And you notice where your heart is, is where you're going to sow a seed.
Again, if your heart is for this ministry, you sow a seed for this ministry.
But if your heart is not for this ministry, why will you even think about sowing?
You understand what I'm saying?
This is the key.
When we elect people, we can't just elect them on the basis on how they look, how they sound, because that is so deceiving.
But when you hear a man that is pro-America, then you have to pay attention.
Why is it a big threat for a man to love America and defend America?
Why?
It doesn't make sense.
Ricky, sometimes I feel so dumb because where's the common sense?
That's right.
It's like you so much common sense has left American politics that it has you questioning your own common sense.
You're like, well, am I the one thinking weird?
Friends, you're not the one thinking weird.
I promise you, I know you're watching this.
And if you're a person who watches the Jim Baker family show or the PTL television network, I know you have common sense because you're listening to accurate prophets.
You're listening to biblically literate people come and preach the gospel to you.
You're reading books that are well educated and well researched and well thought out as well.
But, friends, we need to continue to pray for those in our nation that don't like our nation.
We need to continue to pray for those individuals who are elected and they honestly hate America.
We need to say, hey, I hope that they have a face-to-face encounter with Jesus Christ and their life is radically changed.
Because once their heart becomes softened back to the gospel, I believe that's the key to it all.
You know, we're a ministry first and foremost.
Before we do news, yes, we want to make sure you're biblically sound on your news, that it all lines back up to the word of God.
Before we do anything else, though, we are a ministry.
Friends, we need to encourage these people who don't know the Lord that they need a relationship with the Lord.
I believe that there are going to be many politicians even this year have that Damascus Road experience, Mondo, where they're walking a path.
You know, it says that Saul, before he became Paul, was walking on a road breathing murderous threats towards the Jews.
He still was on his vengeance to go kill more Jews, to capture them, bring them back to the synagogue so they can be killed.
But friends, he had an encounter with Jesus face to face, and that changed everything.
One of the individuals who wrote the majority of our New Testament, I believe there are politicians, there are people who maybe have hated the nation of America before that are going to have that face-to-face encounter with Jesus.
Now, when I say, you know, you love Jesus, that means you're pro-American.
But when you love Jesus, you love the land that he has given you to live on.
You want to honor it.
And honestly, the best policies in the world are Christian policies.
And I'll stand by that statement.
Friends, I believe that we need Christian leaders, Christian officials, Christian presidents.
And I believe this needs to, once again, like our founding fathers believed, this needs to be a Christian nation.
Derek, I want to ask you this.
We just have 10 minutes left on the show.
It goes by quickly, I guess, when we're having fun.
You wrote a book called The Gates of Hell.
I love that you never sway away in your titles from talking about the real issues right there.
We talked about it.
The gates of hell.
This is by you and your wife, Sharon Gilbert.

I do like that Sharon's name came first, though, because I'm going to say, all right, maybe, did she write the majority of the book?
Her name comes first, is Sharon Gilbert and Derek Gilbert.
But the gates of hell, you know, you're saying that these gates are a literal place.
This isn't just figurative or metaphorical, that this is a literal place.
And I want to ask you, why did Jesus take his disciples there?
Well, that's the thing.
It's not that we're saying the gates of hell are a literal place.
It's that Jesus said they were a literal place.
And we've been blessed to visit this location three times now on our trips to Israel.
Today it's called Banyas.
In Jesus' day, it was called Paneus for the God Pan.
The big cave at the base of Mount Hermon, the southwest slope of that mountain, is a big cave called the Grotto of Pan.
And it was believed in Jesus' day to be the literal entrance to the netherworld.
The first century Jewish historian Josephus wrote that no one had ever been able to lower a plumb line long enough to reach bottom.
They thought it was literally a bottomless cave that entered, that took one down to the netherworld.
Now, that has changed because of earthquakes over the past 2,000 years, but it was at one time the source or one of the sources of the Jordan River, the water that came out from the base of Mount Hermon from this bottomless cave, flowed down, joined up with another stream and became the Jordan River.
Jesus walked his disciples there from their base of operations at Capernaum, which is on the north shore of the Sea of Galilee.
This is a 30-mile hike across very hilly and even mountainous terrain.
It's about a 14-hour walk.
It's not something you do just because you feel like a day trip.
I mean, today, 14, 30-minute, you know, 30 miles, 30-minute drive, no problem.
We'll do that to go shopping, get a good deal at the outlet mall.
But back in the day, you had to really be intentional about the reason for this kind of hike.
So Jesus took his disciples there.
It was not just the location of this cave that was believed to enter or open into the netherworld.
It was a cult center for Zeus or Jupiter in the Roman world, for the Roman emperor, the cult of the Roman Emperor.
There was a temple there to the god Nemesis or goddess Nemesis.
There was a healing center for the demigod Asclepius.
So this was a pagan cult center, and Jesus took his disciples on a 14-hour hike to go there.
You had to imagine that they were wondering, you know, why have you brought us here, teacher?
And Jesus asked them, who do people say the Son of Man is?
And they gave him certain answers.
And then he said, okay, now who do you say that I am?
And Peter answered correctly, you are the Christ, the Son of the living God.
Jesus walked his disciples there to a place that everyone in the ancient world knew was the literal entrance to the netherworld.
And instead of saying, hey, this is not how that works, this is just a cave with water coming out from snow melt on the top of the mountain.
No, he said, on this rock, this 9,200-foot mountain that we're standing in front of, which to the Canaanites of the ancient world, they believed was essentially their version of Mount Olympus.
It's where their gods congregated.
It's where they met to decree the fates of the land.
Jesus said, on this rock, I will build my ecclesia, my church, and the gates of hell, which is this really big cave right over here, will not prevail against it.
So Jesus went to a site that was believed to be the entrance to the netherworld, but also the base of the mountain that is the equivalent of the Canaanite Olympus, where the gods met.
And that is where Jesus declared his divinity.
He did it there specifically, not just to reveal himself to his disciples, but to send a message to the fallen angels who'd rebelled against his authority.
How interesting.
Well, you know, we don't really hear this in our normal Sunday, you know, from the pulpit message, but I'm glad we have people like Derek Gilbert that's able to bring this.
Because, Derek, reading the word of God, you know, a lot of people may have never known that.
There's a lot of things you do that we really appreciate.
We just have a few minutes left in the broadcast, but I want to bring this up.
You spent a day last spring investigating a megalithic site on the Golan Heights called Gilgal Rephaim, if I believe if I said that correctly, or the Wheel of the Giants, people call it.
What did you learn while you were there that you could share with our partners?
Our friends refer to it, our Israeli friends call it the Israeli Stonehenge.
But the fact is, it's much, much bigger and much older than Stonehenge.
We spent a day there with the archaeologist who's done the most recent digs at that site.
He dates it to about 3,700 BC.
So 3,700 years before Jesus walked the earth, somebody piled up about 60,000 tons of stone into this megalithic structure.
And in a nutshell, Dr. Mike Frikman, who took us there, said, in his opinion, and this is the area, the focus of his research, it was devoted to the cult of the dead.
The significance is that this is located right in the middle of ancient Bashan, and that we see references to Bashan in the Bible.
When you see that, you need to think supernatural, because Bashan was believed to be the land of the dead.
It is covered more than 5,600 megalithic structures devoted to this cult of the dead.
People 3,700 years before Jesus were using structures like this to try to contact the spirit realm.
What they were actually contacting were not their ancestors, not the gods.
They were contacting demons and fallen angels.
And the region north of the Sea of Galilee, between the Sea of Galilee and Mount Hermon, the northern border of Israel in the ancient world, was this land that was known to be essentially the entrance to the Canaanite netherworld.
And quite honestly, the point of the book of the gates of hell, at least the first section, is that this is where Jesus based his ministry because he was sending a message to the fallen realm.
