There Would Be No America Without the Bible | Mark Cowart

You know, in the scripture, there's what we call types and shadows.
Right.
So how do we put a fire out in the natural?
Well, you take water to it.
And one of the things is the scripture, the Bible, the word of God is likened unto water.
Yeah.
Talks about how does the Lord going to prepare his bride with the washing of the water by the word.
There's only one way, I believe, to quench the fires of hell, and that is through the word of God.
The word of God is the answer.
And he said, to the one that believes on me, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.
Now, the one good thing that we can count on when the powers of hell have done all the damage, there's a thing called revival that God sends in answer to us preparing ourselves.
And so what revival does, it can wipe out and destroy what the enemy has been working for decades and even centuries upon.
And that's what we must have.
You know, we talked about our good friends, David Barton.
And David is a, the Bartons are just wonderful.
They're wonderful.
They're the whole family.
They're amazing.
The whole family.
David Barton, David and Tim Barton, and Cheryl always comes.
You know, she has to keep them all in line.
Yes, yes.
She always comes with them up to Karis Bible College.
And so I oversee the practical government school, and David and Tim teach in that.
But one of the things I never thought I'd learn about revival from a historian.
And, you know, David has been called America's historian.
Yes.
And basically, it's that part of American history that's hidden in plain sight that the enemy doesn't want us to know.
And I can say, without a doubt, if somebody will be honest, there would be no America without a Bible.
America was birthed out of the Word of God.
Godly men and women overcame the tyranny of the great British Empire there.
It was utter nonsense and foolishness for this 13 American colonies to come up this great British empire and win.
And when you study our history, what you find is God was constantly intervening.
You know, another dear friend is Bill Federer, and he is, I think of David Barton as American history and William Federer, Bill Federer, as world history and American.
So Bill teaches for us, and he basically, he has a thing called American Minute, where every day he sends out an email and it gives little snippets of history.
But he put this little book together and he's up to three or four volumes now called Miracles in American History.
And it's short stories, you know, two or three pages of different accounts that if God had not intervened, America would be done.
Story after story.
Sometimes the Lord altered the weather and we won a battle that we would have never won.
That's right.
Supernatural interventions by the hand of God.
And I'm just going to say this.
We're at a place right now.
We need a divine intervention and a miracle of God or we're not going to survive.
And I told Bill, I said, Bill, I believe you're going to have another chapter to write about how God comes in and we see him take what the devil has meant for evil and turn it and make it work for you.
America was founded on the Bible.
Amen.
America, it it was a Christian nation.
Don't say it wasn't.
Our founding fathers prayed.
