Birth Pangs of Tribulation
00:03:05
|
|
| I'm shocked how many people differ between when the tribulation takes place, pre-trib, you know, mid-trib, what trib. | |
| But people just fight over it. | |
| I'm not going to fight over it. | |
| No. | |
| So if you're disagreeing with me because I believe we're going through some tribulation, and I'm not saying we're going through all of it, but I know we're going through some tribulation because we're in it right now. | |
| Jesus warned explicitly. | |
| He basically said his followers would endure tribulation. | |
| So regardless of when the great tribulation takes place, we know that we're going to, and I think a lot of this is kind of an American view anyway. | |
| When you ask Christians in China whether or not they're being tribulated. | |
| There you go. | |
| You know, ask Christians in the Middle East if they're being tribulated. | |
| In the battlefield. | |
| Or in the Sudan. | |
| Or in the Sudan. | |
| So, yes, we believe that when you look at Revelation chapters 4 through 6, and John arrives in heaven, and they're calling out for someone who can open the seals on the scroll. | |
| And no one is found worthy on heaven or in heaven, on the earth, or under the earth, which is interesting. | |
| And then suddenly the lamb who was slain appears between the guardians, the four living creatures, the cherubim, and the throne. | |
| So, okay, that's Jesus. | |
| He's in heaven. | |
| Well, we know from the book of Acts, when Stephen is stoned, he sees one like the Son of Man at the right hand of the Father. | |
| The Apostle Paul writing to the church at Ephesus. | |
| He's already at the right hand of the Father. | |
| So John, as in Revelation 12, when he sees the woman clothed in the sun, is getting a view of history, because that's Revelation 12, the birth of Christ. | |
| He's seeing when the Lamb appears in heaven, which was when he's caught up in heaven after the resurrection. | |
| Those writers were released in the first century. | |
| That's what we believe. | |
| And that makes sense. | |
| I think we're waiting for the next event, which would be the sixth seal. | |
| You've got the fifth seal, which are the souls under the altar crying out, how long, O Lord? | |
| Which, you know, watching the news these days, you can understand why they're crying out, how long, O Lord. | |
| That's the truth. | |
| But they're on a leash. | |
| These four riders are given some latitude, but they don't have free reign at this point. | |
| But a day is coming when the restrainer will be removed, and then it'll be literal hell on earth. | |
| That is so true. | |
| Well, you said that you and I do believe that those writers began their ride in the first century. | |
| And the first century certainly had its share of persecution and plagues and warfare, all the things that we see in the writers. | |
| Well, Jesus called these birth pangs. | |
| And any woman who has experienced birth pangs understands that they start out, oh, and then they get worse and closer together. | |
| And that's exactly what we see over the last 2,000 years. | |
| It's like there's this waveform of the writers, but as we're approaching the return of Christ, it is really getting bad. | |
