Unforgiveness Robs Faith

| How does unforgiveness rob the believer of the superhuman life? | |
| I know God hates unforgiveness. | |
| Unforgiveness will shut down your faith every single time. | |
| And the thing is, people try to justify their unforgiveness. | |
| And they say, well, I have a reason why. | |
| Well, the thing is, you know, not forgiving somebody because something they did to you is like you drinking poison and hoping it hurts them. | |
| Unforgiveness is just going to hurt you and it's going to rob you of walking God's supernatural power, but it also is going to make you treat people worse than you're not supposed to. | |
| It's like that famous parable from Jesus said in Matthew 18. | |
| You know, we all know the parable about the person who was forgiven $20 million and the person who had a $20 bill. | |
| And as soon as the person was forgiven $20 million, notice what the first thing they did. | |
| Instead of rejoicing, instead of being glad, instead of being happy, they went and found someone who owed them 20 bucks, grabbed them by the neck and said, pay me what you owe me. | |
| We think, oh, that man must be so bad. | |
| He must be wicked. | |
| He must be all these things. | |
| I actually don't think he was a bad guy. | |
| I just don't believe he knew he was forgiven. | |
| Because why would the first thing you do as soon as your debts were forgiven is rush over to somebody who owes you money? | |
| You didn't hear, I'm forgiven. | |
| You think I have more time to pay my debt. | |
| And so there's a whole lot of Christians who really don't believe they're forgiven. | |
| And so they're living trying to pay God back for a gift he gave them. | |
| And the thing is, if you live trying to pay God back, you're going to be harsh with people. | |
| You're not going to forgive people. | |
| You're going to look down your holy nose at them and judge them for everything they've done. | |
| But the thing is, when you believe that you're forgiven and you really believe, let it go deep into your being, God has canceled my debts because of the blood of Jesus. | |
| I don't owe him anything, but because I don't owe him, I make it my life mission to serve him all my days because of how great he has forgiven me. | |
| When we have that, we're able to help people. | |
| We're able to receive people and the love of God and the power of God and the anointing of God is able to work through us. | |
| Unforgiveness will shut down your faith. | |
| It will rob you of your future and it will keep you to your past. | |
| Because the thing is, if you're saying that, oh, I won't forgive that person, you're staying in your past. | |
| And you're allowing your past to dominate you. | |
| And if you're a new creation in Christ Jesus, your past does not have power over your future. | |
